"Women are afraid to take a job that they haven't done before exactly and they're scared of it. So i have a quick story about that when i was in stand up in the early years. I think it takes. You would know this be at least five ten years to be really good at stand up comedy. It's a very hard thing to do. And you have all different kinds of audiences and you have to work at act so it was about a couple of years into it and i had maybe twenty or thirty. Let's say thirty minutes of material right. And i got a job at the concord in the catskills and the job was to do fifteen minutes. I didn't have fifty minutes. I only had thirty minutes. My husband steve said to me talk slow job. Miraculously it turned into a fifty minutes. Set i don't know how to this day how i pulled it off. I didn't. I didn't know how to work the house. Seattle anything or make was scared to the tippy toes. And i did it and don't just want to say one more thing about that. Don't take this as it being easy. I was nauseous. Probably in the bathroom. It was horrible. That i did it right so sunny you which of these issues do think need to be addressed for me. It's pay equity. It's the it's the gender pay gap did that panel yesterday with my friend venus williams and it was all about the gender pay gap. And you know. Currently women make eighty one cents the dollar that men earn and women of color even far less and it just seems to me that companies are getting decent at diversity and inclusion. But it's d. I e the equity portion companies just aren't good at and if you look at families of color more than four and five black. Mothers eighty-one percent are breadwinners in their families meaning. Their households depend on that paycheck. And the other thing that i've noticed is that you know diplomas don't equal dollars and women are getting educated more than men but the diplomas aren't giving them higher salaries and women are still asking for more money. It's not like women aren't trying to negotiate higher salaries that just not being given the money right. So that's a big problem. How 'bout you make it okay. How about you megan. You know this. This is a hard one for me. Because i've actually had the luxury of really working with a lot of really incredible men The the patriarchy. I feel more systemic in society. I actually have been treated really respectfully as generalization. I think the best advice it was ever given us just negotiate like a man. I love it and speaking of men. Eddie murphy. She's clearly paying attention to press and publicity. If she's putting a formal complaint and vinyl thing there rumors that there's gonna be a rupert murdoch right wing network being launched in the uk coming forward. I wouldn't be surprised. I think as i said on monday about this if you are someone like the fijian islands if you are new zealand if you are a country that has non white citizens as the majority. How do you feel about having someone possibly become your next future. King who has said allegedly racist things about your grandson. These are very serious. Allegations as i said on monday the geopolitical ramifications of this i think are going to continue to be felt and we'll see if a post elizabeth a great britain and kingdom can exist still having commonwealth colonies because it seems to be something of the past sunny. "Too heavily on nostalgia. Unless you're a huge fan of Eddie Murphy's classic 1988 film coming to America, and lots of people are there's not going to be a lot for you, and it's less than inspired sequel Coming to America. We celebrated her 30 years absolute and prosperity. 30 Years of service. Well, great nation on 30 Years off Delicious fast food. The new film begins with Murphy's Prince Akeem Joe Fair, opening a fast food restaurant called McDowell's in the African Country of Amanda Devote ease of the first movie. No. This chain is owned by Akin's American father in law, played by John Amos, who denies his business is in any way a rip off of another well known burger joint. They've got egg mcmuffins way that a mixed up in this way are also celebrating my new beyond big mix burger, So there's no meat. There's no meat. Maybe we're getting much better with Pepsi Call Max here are subtle as a sledgehammer. This scene mostly gives us an excuse to see Amos and Louie Anderson, who also appeared in the first film, The Story of the original movie was a black centered fairytale. But you didn't know what the product was for any of these? No, And that makes it not a good commercial. I really did like the culture one with the coasters. And provide the FBI with information about Hampton O'Neill is played by like Keith Stanfield Target You Like some good information, some nobody else No. Is it some kind of bonuses? I'm I'm counting on it. Bill O'Neill became so much of a Panther insider. He was put in charge of security. He provided the FBI with a floor plan of Hampton's apartment in 1969. The Chicago police raided the apartment and killed two Black Panther leaders, including Hampton for the Lucas Brothers. It was essential to tell the story of how the FBI recruited informants in the black community. I think it's important to see just how insidious The system has been in turning young African Americans against one another. Now they Essentially used poor black people against poor black people to execute their goals of minimizing the threat of black messiah is like we just felt it was important to see both sides of the coin. Whether it's a historical drama or its stand up comedy for the Lucas Brothers. It all comes from the same source in a big thing about our act is that we we always try to ground it and stuff that we've gone through, and it's always been Important for us to talk about these systemic issues and a variety of ways.
