"I was in and out of the hospital mostly with pneumonia In the grade. I had polio and viral encephalitis. All at the same time. I was in the hospital and winter haven hospital for three months and i just could not get well and i had a wonderful god late dr matter of fact i mentioned him in my book author raymond l. route. That was his name and where haven his kids are. I think most doctors. Now i papa. His sunset said but he refused to let me give up He just encouraged me and challenge me and He finally found out why it continue to get sick. It was my immune system was not building up and It was through to my allergies. I found out that. I had hundred allergies and so they started me on medication for the allergies and i took that up until i was a junior college and But he's the guy that got me going to the gym. And so i started going to the gym and working out and my body started to grow and While i was growing up i i was just a big wrestling fanatic of you know when you're in a hospital that much get your days and nights mixed up and The only thing on late at night was a professional wrestling. And so i. I got hooked into watching all of those great wrestlers from that generation. Eddie graham right best aid of the great milenko johnny valentine and all of those guys and so I was in great shape. My wife and i graduated from a palm beach atlantic. We were back in central florida. My wife was a high school math teacher. And so she's working at her alma mater and i was waiting to be called To church youth pastor. Because you know when you're twenty. Three years old is not a lot of churches to pastor. So i was trying to get some experience or the master and i was reading the tampa tribune one day in his sit There was an ad. Big ad said wanted professional wrestlers. Like so excited. I jumped up. I took it over my wife. And i said look at this jewish grading of grading papers and jews. She looked up and looked at. It rolled her eyes and kept grading papers. And so i got back together. And i drove over at tampa and i walked in and the stem and there was a great malingco who i had watched growing up. And so i was trained by one of the The great milenko. He trained a bunch of guys that are were w. w e stars and He he was just the best and so i. I was hooked from the moment that i walked in and So i got the opportunity to russell from nineteen seventy eight to nineteen eighty-eight. That was my dream but my calling was to the ministry. And i knew that that green was going to be short lived and so when i was Thirty four i graduated from south western seminary and I retired from professional wrestling. And i went to my first church It was a big change from store. You asked about your. It was a big change. I didn't get stressed out when i was wrestling. Because you get to work with stress out get.

"They their points that they had in the company gave them that was that was all mcmahon needed to have the majority vote. Shall we say and the of solar so. They're shared advance and it caused an uproar and of course jack and jerry were kinda ostracized and some of the traditional people like only making friends in that deal with. They made a lot of money and their shows are businessmen. They didn't think they were getting there. They don't see they there from what i understand. They were leery of the. I count by that. I mean back in the old days before computerized ticketing when their tickets are sold hard tickets role tickets or they're going to call it. The first person account was promoter. So what's a promoter. Said was what it was and jack and jerry disbelieved and a lot of those guys are doing audits audits meeting they would have a plant in the house clicking attendance. And so you know pretty close how many people were there. And was that count off. From what the promoter was giving you. And i think that was the case here. They thought they were being shorted. And they are getting their fair share because of the i count rule and they bowl move. That was a bold move. I remember cowboy telling me all about that. Because i think at one time he was he was. He was a stockholder in itself to but not events. I think he sold out before. All that stuff started booker there for a long time cowboy was so that's kind of i was. It's not about the money on each all about the money. And that is all about the money for the briscoes. An end business. They had a chance to increase their their own personal value and to get a big infusion of cash and that's what they did as the rumor goes. You know it's like They felt perhaps only was being too cautious with the money. And that barnett was maybe being too frivolous with the money and there had often been people sort of free styling that maybe barnette had a quote unquote skim setup. Boy this all sounds very mom blank. Did you ever hear anything about that. You just knew it happened. It happened everywhere. It wasn't a you know georgia championship wrestling. And jim barnett or oleanders. Remember might be. You wanna bring the story. They weren't inventing anything new. So veteran wrestlers guys are going up in the territory. Air lack the briscoes. They are well aware of all the this scenario so in and of course in the same time. I don't know how it affected a relationship. Eddie eddie graham but they had eddie on their side more often than not that was a big bonus for them so it was every territory that had role tickets you think. I don't know that i've talked to wrestlers. Worked at virtually every territory. My since nineteen seventy four. They also the same thing you know scam. It's i count as simple as that. You get ten thousand. People were no. We only had eight. Well there you go. So what are you going to prove. Didn't have a right. He had no proof and you got a decent pay day but not as much as you would have gotten if they had given a true count and the risk has got full of that tired of that scenario and they had a chance hit a big payday their biggest payday ever with vance and they took time out right now. We gotta talk about something. That's important to a lot of us listening to this show..

"We get this one out of the way now hymie is on the phone line hymie. How are you might I just recently only started watching wrestling on the network like started from the first step so the earliest episode they have on there in eighty one and I gotta say it was like a lot of stuff stuff that if AB eight aws book didn't like we wouldn't here in the last from Brian last in Gym Cornet like they've bugged Inter gender tag matches with it grown men and I don't WanNA use the the I don't want to say midgets but little people as literal tag team partners and we'll see like a bunch of wacky wrecking gimmicks like like a fad timeout. Let me stop you right there. Do you have any. I guess the breadth of knowledge of history three. You know when it comes to the women wrestling in midget wrestling across the country. They were used as specialty items. No matter where it was whether it be in New York or Los Angeles or Dallas US wherever and oftentimes they were mixed together to be matches and that wasn't just ended south. That was all over the country. That was a regular thing when it came to wrestling. Oh definitely but I'm just saying like you know how bill watches religion to like guys like Dave Meltzer in Jim Cornet Ornette and Bryant last and those like make Jim Cornet and Brian last. Oh they argued that Awro in high me. I'm going to go ahead and let you go. And here's why if you want to argue with Bryan last in Gym Cornet then right into Jim Cornet into Brian. Last and one of the eighty eighty eight shows the Brian. Last does like you know to do it. Here doesn't really make any sense and you talk about the religion. That was passed on by bill. Watts it wasn't a religion. Pass Tom by bill watts. It was a learning tree thing about some of the knowledge that he has about things that actually worked and things that he learned from. Eddie Graham and things that Eddie Graham Ram had picked up along the way and there's a whole tree of knowledge that exists whether you like the people or their politics or how they were as real human beings as we know I know Eddie Graham was a terrible human being Roy Shire was a terrible human being. There's probably older fans out there. Listening in San Francisco Right now in the Moi these sports byline that have their their memories that go back to Roy. Shire running that promotion. He wasn't a nice person one of the reasons he got kicked off his. TV was because he was like chewing tobacco and spitting it on rug the Nice TV studio. That's one of the things that got him. Sunk off of that station as well as many other things too but like that was one because he just couldn't help himself from being being a prick. Now that prick ended up. Having some incredible wrestling knowledge passed down finishes that we see to this day passed on knowledge about how to do things and how at a tell stories that we see to this day. Whether it be Eddie Graham Bill Watts or any of these people yes. They weren't the best people in the world but they had a lot of knowledge to give. And that's we've got passed down and that's the religion that you talk about you know it's the good things everybody does bad things. There's things you can point to in every promotion at any time almost ever and point out. How ridiculous elicit is like? You can continue to harp on that and beat it to death. You know all that you want but the reality of the situation is that that's what it is so if you have an ax ax to grind with something you saw you know out of context in isolation midsouth. TV and you want to ask him about it asked him about it so Rochon tonight transition to that by the way if you can do better than that one. Eight hundred eight seven eight one. Eight hundred eight seven eight seven five two nine get a hold of me on twitter. Twitter's well at separate Vivey that wwe stock as we stand right now. Down five percent forty-six sixty two Monday night raw tonight. They won't be talking about that. Not sure what they're going to be talking about. The only thing that they have announced so far is some fallout. From last week's edge and Randy Orton angle go to the wrestling observer. Dot Com website. WWe has announced that Orton will address his actions from last Monday night on raw last week. So Oh close with order taking edge and hitting a CON CHARITO to his head. I just love seeing how that was written out there concerto concerto to. I don't know oh but that we need A. Is there an on bud. Zeman here the need the Wade Keller style guide to tell us about how to spell properly concerto in his at capitalized. I know it's not all caps as if it was wrestling. In Japan though. WWE also issued a storyline update on his condition after the attack angle. It said. Is that a quote family. Spokesperson has confirmed that edge is now. Home has begun the recovery process and is waiting for the results of battery of tests. WWe noted that edge will update his condition early next week at families spokesperson. It was probably Was was probably Beth Phoenix on annex. T in which I think pretty much exact same thing I think last time she was on there after returning to the ring the royal rumble edge. Cut a promo in the main event segment of last tweaks were all. He was interrupted by Orton who proposed. Reuniting they're rated R. K. O.. Team before edge to give an answer. Orton laid him out with an Arcadio or then hit edge with a steel chair and wrap his head around it or went up to the Middle Rope and looked conflicted and seem to have decided against continuing the attack. But then got two chairs and gave Edgy. Concerto Edge had eliminated or in the men's royal rumble match the previous night. The story was edge and Orton. Were working together but edge. Ordinance was about to turn against him edge versus ordinance planned for Wrestlemainia thirty six. Tonight's raw taking place at the Vivian. Smart Home Arena and Salt Lake City. Utah the city is dealing with a significant snowstorm but the arena wrote. That raw is planned to go on as scheduled. I am sure we are going to have people taking pictures. And and Of of the crowd before they get in half empty buildings in going. This is raw. The same way people do that with raw and smackdown he w h and everything else. We're going this crowd. Take a picture of cited starved off. Somebody will be doing that tonight. Dom I'm GonNA actually drag you back in here real quick just because you mentioned in the opening segment and you happen to be our guy on the street that we go to. For the average average fan the most lapsed average fans you are coming from a different generation of fandom one where there was a minimal stars but there was John on CNN edge. Randy Orton a handful of other people at the time edge obviously had to retire due his neck injury. The spinal stenosis a miracle recovery a miracle miracle of modern medicine. A marvel him coming back here. Now to face off against Randy Orton WRESTLEMAINIA. It is a massive matchup. We talked about it a little bit last week. Go for a lot of people. It's trying to get the old feels back. That's what they're going for with their lack of stars bringing edge back. You instantly have a a callback to a different time A.. And frankly at that time. He and Randy Orton always put on great performances. So they're trying to kind of like you know. Shake the ghosts and wake up and and get the echoes of time once was. Did it pay off on Monday night. It's seemed to inside the arena. We'll ratings hash this out as we move along. People people have that kind of interest. We'll have to see. But as elapsed fan who they're probably aiming at with stuff like this and and at least are hoping get woken up with stuff like this. What what did you think about it and is it something that makes you keep an extra eye on the proceedings for for? WWe As we lead in Wrestlemainia first off. Thank you for the names that you said Grew up with because that makes me feel really young I actually was you know nine ten years old during the attitude era so actually Mike. It wasn't wasn't the John did for me. It was you know Austin the rock the hardy's edge Christian and then even later on a little bit you know Batista's has mysterious. I headed good man. Second off yeah. They got me admittedly I would. I would record it every week just to fiddle my way through it fast forward on the DVR see if anything caught my eye. Whatever and then I went because I because I know the wwe network is going to offer for me a free month? Whenever basically I wanted I went and got a free month so I can watch the royal rumble got really excited? That edge was there and then wouldn't you know it. Sorry let me take it back a little bit a few months ago I stopped recording it because I just didn't care anymore but wouldn't you know it last Monday after royal rumble. They got me to record it again. Fast forward through the whole thing. It's not like they. They got me to watch the whole thing. But I watched the entire closing segment with edge and Orton and I. I'm I'm one of the fans that my favorite part of being at a live event isn't necessarily the actual wrestling. What what I love about? It is the music just. There's something about when somebody a wrestler that you love their music hits. The video starts playing you. You know there's fog or Pyro or what God. You are a child of generation and all about the pop for the intro. Yes I am. An edge to me at least has is one of my favorite theme songs that there is so hearing his music. Royal Rumble was awesome. I love that he's back back. I'm GONNA follow this again not wholeheartedly. I'm still going to be fast. Forwarding through most of it probably but at least they have me paying attention in in some regards and I may try to finagle my way into the other trial come mania. You know you're going to do that. I totally know better price than free going to they're going to be offering them left and right especially for people who are lapsed out there from getting the network I am guaranteed that. I'm sure I still wonder if they're going to even mention inching the network number coming up this Thursday. I seem to recall from the last time that they had one of these conference calls it the way they were. Basically stop talking about the network they stopped bringing it up and they kind of fudge with.

"The game played out a lot like we talked about last week is is is not let the that loss to feed us and in fact our mentality we go down fourteen at three and I was very proud of our team of the response in the way they work coach to do that all week as mark Steve talking about his team battling back after being down to Vandy they scored after that on five straight possessions and there's no question that see Eddie Graham has and is certainly earning his paycheck this season having to completely revamp the offense to accommodate a wide receiver QB AMARC Steve says he's one of the best in the business extremely impressive and I greatly appreciate them and that's where you know when you have a guy like coach grand that's a seasoned veteran it pays off because he's been around a long time and again up I understand that I don't need to sit up here and defend him you know because offense of coordinators across the country walk around the biggest bulls eye on their chest twenty four seven she is easy it's easy to second guess as a coordinator every play every game pros high school college you name it there's people criticize an offense corners everywhere but you see the the the him being the veteran ideas and adapting to the players that we have and and I greatly appreciate that and they've all done a great job on offense we'll talk a little bit more about that in just a second first of all I have to say the best thing that's happened so far today is that superfriends super fan Greg from Corbin brought us snacks is that so clearly got couple things about that one is that clearly he listens to the show and knows that we go on I don't know what three or four games now with no snacks except for Germany had someone bandy last week when he said he was at the game and was in the press box but we've not had snacks and this gentleman came away from Corbin brought us is homemade barbecue chicken and now German I just caught you trying to steal mine which is that's unbelievable I thought you were better than that I was just going away some of the closer I was just going to tell and weren't you how about that has that barbecue chicken it was good it was good yeah yeah well you beat me I'll let you finish your I was a little late get my hits that back on because I was so great you are when you say superfans I mean your U. K. super fate or your account on the kick off superfan both right answer that that my friend is the right answer so we appreciate Greg from corporate bringing us it Yummy Yummy barbecue chicken it's awesome so let me ask you guys than about what marks uses just talking about which is Eddy grant and what an amazing job he has done we have talked about this I think it you know you said look it's the most thankless job in the country being an offense of coordinator because you're either the goat or your you know the hero at so what which which is that for any grand it's it's you know give or take but what he's been able to do when you've talked an awful lot about a dusty about how he's been able to take you come into the season with one mind said with Terry Wilson in your office is going to be one way and it's two games of the season you have to totally revamp what you're doing and come at it from a totally different angle and he's done that so there a lot of situations where you can be very critical of any grand what he's done but when can't you be critical of and I see I guess what you you always can be but to kind of put that more in context it's almost like you're you're you're you're building a house and you build a foundation is like a particular type of house and then a few weeks into the job somebody goes Hey that house we were going to build use that same foundation but do not they need to build something completely different and you have to make it work and just that you know that goes back to terminology and how do you add this new off the answer in the but ad language that your players are going to understand add language that makes sense to the language that you already have the numbering system whatever you use it all has to build on one another or else you're recreate the wheel for everybody so I think you need to get a lot of credit for that I think that if you sat down when you watch you watch the game type and you were able to look at it and really break it down and look at the kind of the in internal components of each play that he's run and what he's doing a map in the issues Jing is like I said he stay one step ahead of the defense at all times and he keeps adding layers of this deal you know it started out where it was it was pretty much in the land either you know rather running back in either hand of offer pull on it but it turned into kind of an optional look then it turned into an optional look with a well that was just to set you up so you could cut back and run his own back to the left and he's done a tremendous job and I think it's pretty good you know with staples comments you know he he continues to impress me in the way that he gets it from a head coach like he gets applied he gets a bit as an officer coordinator you're just going to catch a lot of heat Nash is part of the deal and he's able to support his office corners it's gets very summer to a quarterback nothing stupid is that something that stupid to me has always done a good job here is he picks a guy in that god knows he has the support yeah it's not a shortly see has a support he's gonna give them every chance to be successful if there's a foundation that we're talking about using Jon foreman and his group the office a lot I make them no no mystery about it what they're being asked to do in SEC play what they're being asked to do week in and week out you simply every team knows what the game plan is yeah every time yeah and they're still lining up put your hand down in there still yeah they're still checking the boxes that is absolutely incredible I mean it is just so hard to articulate that if you know does he now we're going to get into a fight until December gonna knock you out I'm just gonna be John the score cards with the with with my left hook you know my left jab to your right and he knows that and that's how long I'm I'm telling him what my game plan is how I'm going to beat him in this match he knows that I know that everybody in the arena knows that and are still able to line up and do exactly that is demoralizing for defense is the more loving for defensive coordinator and it's hard to explain at the end of the day the only thing that you can explain at the end of the day after playing Kentucky a line in the open what this group is done over the course last you which is that the unit that you have to admit you got smacked in the mouth yeah Bon offer to wind it did not back down and a group running back to just continue to pick up steam continue to run the football under being led by limbo and his dynamic play making ability how how many weeks on this show have we talked about you know if if if I'm the opposing defense I'm just load the box yeah I'm put in eight nine guys in the box and I'm you know and that's what I'm doing and and it still doesn't it does right and and yes the office of line deserves a massive amount of credit for that that's what we can do what we can do but from a scheme for musky scheme standpoint eighty grand some of things that he's done from a numbers perspective where they have more gas in the box that we have guys that we can actually block with he's designing place that remove the gas that we can't block it just takes them out of the blood we're gonna look like we're running the option to the right those two guys going to slap that way because that's their responsibility and then let's go stickers but the ground and cut back and hit the lane to the office once created and now everybody else is blocking who they're supposed to and those two guys don't matter anymore yeah you know he's doing some things there too it's a combination of yeah everybody's playing their part but there I mean if that's what's so special about it is it's it's it's working flawlessly well I said earlier that you were talking about Brad white earning his paycheck at any grand certainly has its own else who has into is there an inch I you have to love him into that category as well you talk about taking a wide receiver and making him a quarterback now again we go back to yelling but played quarterback in high school that kind of thing but Darren Hinshaw has had his work cut out for him trying to you know work on mechanics work on different things that you know in in that quarterback position with Lynn Boden I mean the the list just goes on and on of the people have really had to step up in a big way here I I I don't mean this in a negative light with somebody of Lindbergh's athletic talent you put in the quarter back in high school and there's a whole lot less discipline has to happen yeah boxing is let's say he can make things happen yeah that's not the case in the SEC things have to work like they're supposed to in they do deserve.

"It was not one after the other. Yeah, I'll go in. Ding dang. It was just a battle will, but I always want to have some stories from old timers that I heard hokey a better world. Somebody came up with that somehow no one knew I have no idea. Nobody knows who invented the battle. Well, you're right. I don't either. I don't know who I kept saying, like. Like to create a battle Royal, what I came up with the idea. You know, one guy in into guy, you know. Can crazy come on? You know it. This yet he hated it. And then I'll go do the Saturday night special or whatever it was. Yeah. Ourselves. Yeah. And. Because we have to give him to card Hogan's Jonah signed a contract, and that tag team championship match and it, it the good card. It's on USA network. You know network but USA network. It's not really something is missing and Vinci's, why don't you tell them that stupid idea? And I give him the concept. I didn't have a name. I know. But you said it, first of all, it's not stupid. I think it's great. That's right. Dick ever saw listen. Yeah. Set that telomere just stupid idea. I should first of all the stupid idea. I give him you how it's going to work. I'd have a name for it. He says, oh my God, this is legal running. That's not a good. Now evinces we'll think about it. You know, think about it, but we did it. Yeah. And it's funny but we'll keep because there was no name for the match needed. Something spectacular to call it. So, like, like fifty people from office are they submitted fifty ideas and Royal rumble was one of them exact and so it became known as the Royal rumble Zach and turned into a pay per view of it. Yeah. So you end up finishing up with ROY Shire in his time to go somewhere else. He went down to Florida worked for wrestling genius. Eddie Graham Johnny Valentine. I think had the book. Yeah. You Johnny weren't on the same page. No, not at all. But what about Eddie always heard that this guy was a genius in the business? What made this guy? So smart. He had the great psychology of the business in eat a lot of these guys that worked down there, and they learned business from eighty but eighty was dislike really ideal school. You know what I mean it was not by haha and everything else, it was just. You'll school you know, to work, a whole in workaho and you know what I mean it was not all the flying that we Nick, we do today. He was very good. Very good ideas. And I heard years ago, ROY Shire, Eddie Graham was another promoted. They always talk to each other. Defunct Dari phone. Yeah. It always talked to each other, you know, any ideas and not now. You know what I mean? So employers. I had a blast there, dusty road there that Briscoe. Oh, I had a great time with it. But she didn't stay alone. Now a couple of years, I was I was Booker for about six months. Netra me no, no. How did the first book and Chechen go? What was the problem with it? Well, there's a lot of local guys there, you know, to Briscoes day about, I was not the Booker. I'm sorry. Assistant Booker with Valentine he lies. I'm gonna clean up house. I'm gonna do this and then when I got tired of all these guys..

"You guys tickets? Yeah. I will. I went to wrestlemainia once when it was in Orlando because I felt like it was a cultural event like a really an iconic thing that I had to be a part of. So I drove there. I prepaid like fifty bucks for parking. I walked around that trash heap of the stadium that now is known as campers world or whatever but used to be the Citrus Bowl. I endured. The thing. I enjoyed the most was seeing how happy people I like a lot were at this event by brother-in-law John a couple of other people I saw there, and then and then gronk was there. I remember. I mean, but you made memories with your son. He's going to remember that forever. Like twenty years dad 'Member this time, we went to wrestlemainia in Orlando is so fine. If you were to pull my son out of class right now and say, yes, or no you have been arrested. I don't think he'd be able to answer correctly. You know, I'd like to say someone who's been to five wrestlemanias. Wow. Not that like, you should have found some joy in it. But I will say that stadium is horrendous. Yeah. For someone like you who needs to that little extra to be engaged the seats weren't that? Great. There was a there was a pylon, right, right? In our way to where you couldn't even see in the ring. Right. So between the stadium and the seating. I can see how our not traditional fan could have had a time that wasn't mind-blowing. Yeah. I don't know that it would have improved to the point where I would have stayed past. The first match shaneco MAC versus that other guy AJ style. Oh that was great. Match. That's what people were saying. And I was underwhelmed by it. So I was like, well if that was a great match, and I wasn't even remotely interested. We should just get the hell out of here. Go to yellow dog cafe and get something. Well, that's why wrestlemanias coming to your hometown. We're going to wash that taste out of your mouth. All right behind Jesse cage in the front row. Just love and wrestlemainia twenty twenty baby. I'm good. I try to get you guys better seats than that. But I I'm good. I don't need to see it again. I I don't want. I believe you today. But I think as we get closer to that date. I think it will reach a fever pitch. But you will be so blown away at how this city is overtaken by the WWE foam will be too strong. You won't be able to deny it on that day. No, listen, I'll have the same reaction. I do every year Gasparilla, which is it's neat that all of those people are into that kind of thing. But I'm more than happy to stay away from the crowds. And and isolate myself from something that I can appreciate, but I wouldn't enjoy this is this is like the Super Bowl when it comes to town. There's parties celebrities there's parties and they're celebrities. You guys can go to your celebrity parties. I'm not saying I wouldn't attend a celebrity party. If I was invited. We need your help getting into those. Yes, sure, I'm more than happy to act as your hor. And and really help you guys out with any access that I can for you. I'm not shutting it as a show. I've just personally going to say, oh, yeah. No. I'll be there. I'll be there. And then I'll give you guys my laminates. Well, the thing is is this isn't just wrestlemainia one night phenomenon. We're talking week long WWE access. We're talking the hall of fame induction ceremony. Monday night raw down takeover. This is a serious week long. Wow. That's a lot. It really is going to be the epicenter of the world. Some would say not enough on a serious note. I was texting geo because he's been very excited about this. He takes his son to all the events. And I remember every single of wrestling event that my parents took me to when I was a kid, and I cannot wait to take baby Kush to this. Because I feel like even though she'll be two and a half. It'll be something that she remembers forever. So I started tearing up thinking about that the other day. I my parents never took me to a wrestling of that. But when I was in high school, we will go to the Eddie Graham. Sports complex out in east, Orange County. And we'd see I think we saw dusty Rhodes wrestled there. I saw I don't know. Why I remember the Bushwacker before they were the Bushwacker, the sheep herders Butch and Luke lick your head. They lift a lot of heads. I don't think mine was one of them. That was always like, I don't know if those people were always plants, but like there were some parents that work cool with a grown man licking their child's head. I don't think I'd like someone licking my son's had different go. Yeah. You're right with the different areas. Like the Michael Jackson thing they were huge stars. Like, I mean, who's going to be upset? So I'll do my best to get you. What is twenty twenty? Right. What does it April fifth? John. I actually believe the date that I saw was a little earlier of the double check Eero away. Yeah. It is pretty much a year. But it's a big it's a big deal for for the whole city. I mean, I know I don't know if it was the Tampa Bay sports Commissioner, whomever, but I mean, that's like getting a Super Bowl. That's like getting a final four. I mean that that's a big yet to have that here. Yeah. I am happy for the city. I'm happy for everybody involved. You brought it in. I saw that our buddy Titus was up there speaking this morning as well as a whole bunch of other wrestling people. Bob buckhorn dropped the same. Uber. Driver joke there that he did on our show. I'm not mad at him. It played well in our room. Go ahead and use that. And and I'm excited for you guys. It's just one of those things where I like. Wow. I am on the outside looking in on this one. But you could get in. I don't want to go. But like what if he did it would be so cool. I could start texting you. Several times last year. I went to wrestlemania even watched I watched that rod draft that they had whether it's Monday night robbers Tuesday night nitro. It's a it's a smackdown. Whatever it is. And I was like man, I really gave it a shot. I swear John advertised by the time April twenty twenty rolls around is going to be so interesting that when we all go together you and I are going to break down to a wrestling match in the stands and Gerardi. Abbas referee shirt on their opinion. That that'd be cool. I'll do the job for you. There was a fake wrestling match right in front of us that wrestlemainia. Yeah. I went I went viral for that. I'm a video has millions of us. The of the fake illustrated tweeted out my video was happening. Literally right in front of us that those interesting I made friends with I made friends with those kids I've stayed in touch with them to this day. So not only is it a cultural phenomenon, but you you meet new people and you make relationships last a lifetime. All that sounds terrible to me drew grab alive you. Hey, guys. Jimmy, jimmy. What's your level of excitement when it comes to wrestlemainia coming to Tampa one turnbuckle to five turn buckles? Five turned buckles is the best. He's a six right there up with you. Oh, good for you. Ingestion? Some that'd be awesome. Says you guys wrestling almost two-thirds of drew grab alive. Loves wrestling. So what did you guys did like who wants to with the bone? That would be awesome. No. We don't want to. You trying to horn your way..

Bring that up because. Ruffea was you know, over a decade while the top market reps for WWE very successful. He's very skilled if he is an indication of the other physicians that have been filled, and I have no reasonably that. He isn't then they're they're they're different team together. Yes. Makes sense planning your budged at that month. But how they find it. That's my point. Yeah. "No, man, they were like starting five thousand one hundred guy on the high end alignment, and what have you one hundred thousand dollars a year in the NFL? So. Oh, it was not something that it was good money for the time. But it's nothing as compared what you hear about today. And in wrestling, if you wrestling on us steady steady basis, if you're a mid to top guy, you can easily make a thousand dollars a week in the wrestling business now that's half. But if you get to be a real top guy, and you start drawing money somewhere, he can make a whole hell of a lot more money than that. Yeah. Absolutely. You know, you see some of these canceled checks from you know, promoters that have gotten lake down where you see Brody made in fifty nine hundred dollars against flair for one nine, and you know, with inflation that's a boatload of cash now. So it gives you a a sort of a peek into maybe what was possible, especially for a guy that size because a guy like said, you know, if he's worth at Dern, probably not in the popcorn match, right? He's going to be an attraction he's going to be somebody that the audience is going to look at and when they leave they're going to say you remember that big son of a bitch. He just has that look he always has had that look in that was what made him special. So eventually Randy hooks it up with a guy named to-. Joe Yamamoto name from back on the day. Tokyo was a heel in the Tennessee area for a long time. And I've been a mainstay there even here in Huntsville, I hear a lot of old school wrestling fans who tell me about the time they saw to- Joe here in town. But going back to the fifties. He's been a mainstay, and he helps train said he also trained guys like the moon dogs and Jackie Fargo, and Bobby Eaton and Tommy rich, and ultimately we wound up losing to- Joe in nineteen Ninety-two. But after a training session here, it's time to to get going and actually get in the ring, what was the reputation. That toe Joe had in the wrestling business, especially as a trainer, I think wasn't a big reputation. Frankly, I it was in the south if you came from Memphis, and you can get in to have Joe train, you then that was an entry way into the Memphis territory in Canada, those southern territories. There wasn't anybody. That was a Goto trainer in the day. You were lucky if you would find somebody that would open the door and take you in and actually show you the ropes and train you Frank length of time to- Joe was the guy in Tennessee. Nick Kozak was the guy in Texas and around the country in Tampa yet Eddie Jesus, why am I blank? Any gram in Florida cheese is why can't I went blank on Eddie Graham. Yes, she had Eddie Graham there in Florida. And I'm thinking, Michael Graham is the picture of my head, and I couldn't come up with last name. But you had to you had to be on the in and Tokyo was the guy in Tennessee that trained people. Well, let's talk a little bit about the story of how he got originally discovered because that has been debated a little bit. And maybe you can set the record straight city set at different times that it was Randy who a scarred. But other times he credits. Jerry Lawler saying that Lawler, I discovered him at a softball game. Either way though, once he's done with training as I math teaming with Austin idol to take on Jerry Lawler, Nick balk winkle. So they saw money and him right away. Because he's working with tippy top guys. Did you hear? I mean because that almost sounds made up just knowing what we know about the inside joke about sending softball Jerry Lawler. Discover sit at a softball game. Or was it the macho man at a gym, what do you lean towards being more accurate Lawler? And that's the only one I've ever heard. I I never heard the savage story before. But I did hear the Lawler story before that I don't know how credible that makes either one, but. What you have in this day and age it's not by our choice, they dictate to us. And that's the same thing that was happening in these. He w and we're dictating to the company they let them know what they wanted what they wanted to see and what they were willing to pay for the Limbaugh ask you question about Eddie Graham because I had his name written down here. I've got so many things that have written down different names. But always heard Eddie Graham ran the Florida territory down there, and I never going to change to meet the guy, and I heard so many wonderful stories about the Florida territory now bad as it was and the weather the travel just great territory, and Eddie Graham, always considered such a genius. But in particular with finishes, what was it about eight Graham that was so much more forward than everybody else from a promotional standpoint or finished in buoyant? Hey, was it was brilliant. You know, give you an example of Eddie one night. We were going up to Orlando. And he went ahead. And he and I discussed to finish two other guys. We're going to use that night, you know, and talked about it and everything else. So we got there. And he's his Terry's come on in here and watches, so he went ahead. And he said the two guys he said, well, what do you think we should do? And one of them said, well, I think we should do this in any anyone head and kept them, give them talk and just edgy new men there till they finally came up with the same finish that he he is with me on the way up there. He was a wonderful wonderful manipulator, he had a wonderful mind for the business. He truly at end, you know, he did a lot of great things too. You know is he learned a lot from my father who learned a lot from guy by the name Cal Farley who was whole time wrestler here years ago started. Boys ranch up here in the Marill area. Greg light famous ranch, you know, and as they take under underprivileged kids there, but Cal started that place, you know, and my father, always preached. He would kill preach to him. You've got to do good things that he and my father to for your community. And you've got to do the right thing for the people in town. You gotta be a good person. And that's what at molded his life after my father to mold it after way, kale tears, and you know, that's a very important thing. It's your thought of as a good person, you know, and and he was good person. He was ready to go ahead and fight somebody any chance he got you know, my dad and him used to do it out. All the time to talk about your dad for second. He got into ring he learned how to wrestle. He was already a wrestler, but he got into the business pro wrestler, and it was hard road Ford Magadan, and they started promoting as I was reading the book. I never really picked up who brought who broke into the business or who trained. You was it. Indeed, you father who taught you how to work my father trained me. I started up here. I watched it. You know, whenever I was a kid. You know, four years old all the other kids wanted to play Cowboys and Indians, you know, and I wanted to wrestle because my father was a wrestler. I just always always wanted to be a wrestler all of my life. And you know, is is my brother was the same way. We both knew where we were going, you know, but my father he he was a great amateur out of Indiana University won three state championships at Indian nut skews me at Hammond high in Hammond, Indiana, and then he got a scholarship to Indiana University while he was there under Billy, Tom. When you go back and say where did this come from LA? It's a cross between him and under both Patterson. Yeah. Everything came from there. So at Dr Jerry, and Eddie were very close and king alchoholic Caesar, and I mean, true alcoholics God rest, his soul, you know? Eddie. But the bottom line was that he's seeing when he got me he's seen this guy that didn't reflect a body builder that had the beer gun, then had these blonde hair in the natural type wig in the seventy Vilmos now wing, the real hair.
