"Tracks, visit twin spires dot com slash offers to find out what offers are available to you. All right, welcome back to the Jason B horse racing podcast brought to you by twin spires, a Friday edition of the program, October 15th, which means it's a jury time, and we always start out with that Derozan Eddie D how are you? Doing well, three weeks, the breeders cup. We are speaking. I want to plug the home team just a bit about the wonderful times to inspires. We prefer it. Yeah. So one of the things I always love to do is, you know, I would say my twin spires viewership is 70% desktop 30% mobile. And I know on the desktop, there's a little, you'll see when you have the video on and the fields to the right, they'll say expert first pick expert second pick expert third pick and what I know it's a track that you do. I always give it a scan. Okay, let's see what would Eddie Dee likes. So we're speaking right after the 5th race at keeneland and I look and I say, oh, Eddie Dee likes an 11 to one shot. 7 horse. 7 horse takes the lead Turner for home Ed. For some reason at no point in the stretch, did I think your horse was going to win? It just seemed like he was waiting for the three. I did. Yeah. Did you know early on that oh crap, this is not going to go away. Because your horse was in front for literally 90% of the stretch. I mean, it was in the right spot and I just felt like without the three seemingly backing up, which I know that can be an optical illusion, but yes, to answer your question, I never felt like the 7 was going to win. And I'm not the type, I'm not like the self mush where I'm thinking, I can't win this. I've watched enough races where it didn't look good. So are you? Yeah, it's a weird thing. And part of it, I have to say is, I mean it was I and Carlos villasana and Tyler Gaffigan was on the favorite the adversary. And I was aware of that dynamic as well. And I was like, man, if this is a dogfight tire, it's going to get the edge. Yeah, I mean, you still rather have the 1101 than the four to 5 though, right? I mean, like, giving up. Of course. But there's a moment. There's a moment when because these things happen quite a bit, you know, it is the it is the generation of the re break too, like we shouldn't. We shouldn't ignore that. But there's a moment in these races where you get a horse who comes up alongside goes in front, they rarely get more than a half length in front of it. It seems like they get to the neck in front and the advancement seems to stop, and though those are when you know you're in deep fufu because it's a weird thing. And I'm sure from calling races and just watching a lot of races, I've gotten to see this, but man, there's so many times you see that momentum going forward kind of stop and you just know like, oh no, because before that, you think, oh, I'm gonna roll here. Yep. Now a 100% and it's I don't want to say it takes the fun out because that no way. Way over selling it, but I think one of the negatives, if you will, if there are any of this money races as we get to watch is, I mean, I know ten seconds into a race. If I have any shot and 20 seconds pretty much know I'm either winning or losing. I don't think any occasional you know, you get the dogfight, but I mean, even in a case like this, I mean, I think from a weekend warrior to casual to novice, anyone below our level is watching that race at the top of the stretch and counting their money on the 7th. And I just knew, like, I mean, maybe cuts it out gets a bob like that's possible. But in my in my head, I knew it wasn't the give me that most would have thought. Yeah, I mean, I don't think I would label myself as sharp for the ten to 22nd thing, like you said, I think you can tell early in the race if your horse is settling good and just kind of looking good. But I feel like I feel like I can tell in the middle stages if I got a shot or not, but maybe not win or lose. But I'm probably over. But like forensic fire the other day, obviously the breaking through the gate thing was in the back of my mind. But it seemed like the minute that other horse cleared, like the entire duration of the turn, it just looked like he was having to work a little harder to stay within range of this horse, like you just knew at no point he was ever going by, and to me that was one of the first things that was over. An 8th of a mile. We had one of grant's pass the other night and a friend of mine who was watching even text if she was like, you knew that horse was winning like the first time by the wire. And you could hear it in my call. Like, you know, so and so said it getting the perfect trip in this spot. And the thing barely won. And I mean, he had two horses in front of him, completely dueling each other into submission, while he's just sitting in the catbird seat and he barely gets up. I was telling my friend, I said, you know, this is a horse that you make a note on for the next star back as be aware that this horse won on a perfect trip. And I think with trip handicapping, 95% of the people are basing it off of the bad trips and looking for horses that can move up when I think in some ways, you know, downgrading the good trips can be just as effective because a lot of times those are the horses that are going to be the short rods that maybe you're going to play against. Yeah, great. I agree and I know that Scott Shapiro and Joe Chris who among the Churchill team do far more replay work than I and that to me is one thing I've learned from them is sort of the downgrade of the perfect trip for the perfect flow or what have you. I'm very much a number as the number guy, but there's just it's impossible to deny that it's easier to earn better numbers under certain circumstances. And handicappers, whether they're replay watchers or not need to take that into consideration when they're looking at running lines. That was we had a timer issue the other night and like some horse set of track record, everybody was kind of excited about it. I go, well, hold on, the horse was four wide, the entire way came from way off the pace, and one, you know, by a length and a half. And the 3200 climbers like there's something not right with that time and you know, but yeah, I mean, I think there's a lot we talked about dance over yesterday and he was talking a lot about the gleaming of every plays and just how much because, you know, the chart collars and this isn't to put them down because they literally are, you know, they can write more in the long term, but for the PPs that a majority of folks are using, they get forwards,.

"Do get why they stopped doing it but i also i think you know whenever all that stuff went down. It's aim you know you feel like you're kinda backed up to a wall on everybody's coming after you there's pressure there's all this kind of stuff like part of me is was like well you know. Is it actually more dangerous. Is there because you have a lot of data on that. And if not like i stop running those races because people love you know because i mean but i get it i get you know that was arms. Runner was kind of a last straw. I think For them at the time and regardless after a couple of years the hills back and we watched I think one of them on friday. And i think one or two on on saturday maybe One and a half. There was a mile and a quarter race saturday. But good to see the hill back lieutenant. Dan was an easy winner. There i kind of talked about in the thinking about how the hill was gonna play. And you know the rail was not where you want to be. 'cause you're actually kind of outside because there's that i turn all that kind of stuff now. They were going pretty fast. Forty two and three downhill is not quick. But lieutenant dan was just coast and on the outside and the clear really really look good and snapper sinclair. Who had to wait a little bit and then kicked out came with a really really nice run snappers just in really good form right now. He's such an honest old horse. I saw jeff bloom there and talked him a little bit about About the horse and he's just really doing well right now and this was obviously a little bit of a different Thing for him. I mean it was kind of a different thing for most everybody law-abiding citizen i think was the only one with real hill experience and he ran last so Charlene's mia was on the lead battling and faded back. I didn't think she ran that bad against the boys but Not able to keep up with lieutenant. Dan who got the wind. Steve dotty and nick alexander. In the eddie dee stakes the american pharaoh stakes a cornish for mike smith and bob baffert right to the front never looked back kind of one of those ones where it really never looked in doubt. There was a lot of those type of races this weekend. Where going into the first turn. You could conatel that. It's probably lights out already. Which sucks because it's just those racist to me aren't very fun to watch like. There's just not much interesting. About a favourite going up front unopposed. And you know. I realized that braces. Get one wire-to-wire all the time. It's not like it's a an unusual thing it's just I guess Personal first of all. You didn't like the horse like that's that's one reason why you might not like it but you know and honestly the the saturday feature the awesome again stakes. It was medina spirit. Who kind of did the same thing. ends up going off your sixty five favorite. I went down to the paddock for that race. Wanted takes video of the kentucky derby champ. It was funny. I was thinking about it. 'cause i you know i was going to do a little video of. I'll make little videos on my travels from youtube page. And i was gonna start uploading those videos here after we were done and i was wondering i was like how do i label medina spirit on video because i guess as of now he's still the kentucky derby winner right. We know there is a positive. And so i would be led to believe that he will not be the kentucky derby winner at some point. Unless it's like know formality and gets it gets thrown out which you know in racing you can never be surprised but as of now i mean. He's still the derby winner right. Maybe just an asterisk next to it. 'cause pending pending further investigation. But he ends up going off as you're you're sixty five favourite aaa aaa goes off at five to choose your second choice. His magician who was a good second behind triple time your third choice express train. I mean a lot of the same cast of characters right. Midcourt express train idol. Just you know. We're we're all pretty familiar with the division and really medina spear was kind of making his first ray against this older horse division. Let's take a listen back. Franks call of the awesome again. And they're off in the awesome again. Let oh boy broke. Well medina spirit comes right up alongside of him to take the lead tripoli and a coast coaster third and fourth Pretty keen to go after them. Express train is racing between orces. Tisza a magician now one off the fence about three off the lead. It's another three back to midcourt. Who's at the back of the field. With a wide idle. Medina spirits sets the pace unopposed. He has a biologics. Tis a magician moves into second coast. Third stiletto boy back to fourth then tripoli together with express train express train some traffic about four off the pace to more to mid court and then idle heading to the eighth pole and it is medina spirit leading the way. Three quarters of a length can second tisza magician assumed coast in third then tripoli outside stiletto boy and express train is in between those two now five off the pace with a half mile left to run. Midcourt is asked to pick it up and another two and a half to idle medina spirit in control around the far turn starts to sneak away. Tisza magician has a length and a half stiletto boy. Tripoli starting to rally on the outside there goes tripoli all the way up to take third coming to the quarter pole will angle out for the drive there at the top of the stretch medina.

"There might be some initial. I don't wanna say backlash but just tepid nece on better diving back in. Because in the end i mean again. It's better that we need to be doing these things for and to to make things better if it produces better fields more competitive races and therefore more handle that not only are the betters benefiting. Everybody is and so. I tend to subscribe to the model that if the betters are benefiting eventually if the vendors are constantly benefiting eventually we're all going to benefit I've we've seen this play out. Recently in recent years santa anita being the one that comes to mind the most of. We're going to have a tough time getting our customers on our side if we're if they're not pleased customers you know i it when it comes to these more large scale debates and issues if our customers like us and latin and love our product. They will fight for us but if they feel like they're not being heard and they're not liking the product. Are they going to get because you know asking anybody to fight for you in the public space is not you know. It's not that easy request and so The more disgruntled. They are less likely. They are to be there for us when we're going to need them because those battles are happening and are going to happen. You know to me that just seems very basic. But i know it's probably a little bit not that simple but i do think it is important than so i liked the pats bringing up these things. There's times i read stuff. That pat says that. I completely agree with. There's times where. I disagree with him. But i'm always up to hear from him and hear from other people and and you know the we. We discuss we debate and we hopefully come to good solutions but we shall see. Let's get to our interview. He we're going to join us today. We'll do moore's play thursday tomorrow. Unfortunately i it's gonna be me again. Reached out to different people and Honestly never heard back so hopefully. We'll hear from them in in future weeks. But i have actually. I have a few topics. Of course our buddies and the jury will be back and we'll look ahead to what is busy weekend. We'll probably honestly do a little bit of weekend. Previewing on tomorrow source player thursday show. "I gotta i gotta throw downside chad horse in their credit card. But it's funny. I wasn't going to say the name of the. Because i didn't say if you don't have to say that i sure don't satmars there. And i like Masterpiece chad's other one is a little bit well so i would numbers wise. I like I like four eight. I don't blame. Arkell was good last time he just started marching in. You knew you were done if you fought him at sixty five last time out around the factor but Look he slowly earned two point seven million not great horse to go against regularly but last year he was mighty dull over here as In this very race so you know. And i it was sometimes prefer other services. It's just that simple here Coming into that race he he wasn't coming in off of two big wins like he is right now. But we'll see what happens. You're going to get a short price if you want to desert favored. There's no doubt a great job. Where they've been into risa perfectly but You know we don't we don't like to give out the molly pitcher the molly pitcher. Who do you like in there do you have. I like i liked. I think she she said Of all the races that i had kept last night she stood out to me so What are your thoughts on performance last time last year because she was nowhere to be found. That's my only concern. She got to sear at oaklawn. Yoga have kind of kind of get a little bit better that she approached long. So maybe that's part of it. She she finally won allowance race on the way out the door there and i said well this is good went ahead and and followed that up with a refugee performance. I'm i'm very forgiving. I don't. I don't mind to see a horse. Run not so good of a race. I mean look who's running is a true scout. Does those stores. I don't mind that. I could put a line through that so if i do that. That's where she stands out to me So i really like fall. A little bit of lines here with the are super freak thrown in there as well and then I got a little bit of a price here. The bank stink. So i'm like a three three one five something like that in here i went one. Five to pick are super freak. She's honest she's consistent. David cohen has written her well to a second place finished amount of more girl. Look after monoploy. Girls second-place finish. It's possible to be dazed and confused in your next star. She's still ran third albeit defeated by a couple of the rivals in here. I think she can turn that around. She does have experienced over this track. Having a very good second of harare arale just was super sharp when she won the molly pitcher last year and I think are super freak for a mild upset. I do agree that a possible thing to consider its banks sting. All she's done is one four in a row and yes you have to a little further. But she's fat she'll be in front and this new york bred daughter of central banker Why why can't you get i. We had joe mcmahon visit yesterday. with pat kelly as it happens and we brought up banks thing so he's got to be excited. Yes they're very excited. Good for central bank or commercial. And then mrs danvers She has you know was talking earlier with someone about her. And i said you know she needs. She needs some psychological assistance. She's a little bit of a nutcase but she has talented and she's gonna eventually break through in a big way but early in her career. You could see that. She's not taking her time but now she's four and we're well into the year and She's coming off a freshening. Shug and mrs danvers has to be respected but sometimes she is. She has hurt. People love low low price truck. She has been a single that has stung some people in her time but she has some talents. I went one five to. I don't think you can throw around ironic them against vault. Just based on what i saw last year but you know things have changed since then. She had done a lot better. And i'm not giving her credit for has happened. Most recently you mentioned chug. of course he's no stranger to this race affiliztu in general it phillies internally races One year and lady for cy would but you know she read the. I looked at misdemeanors she runs second to geraldo and i think one of the molly pitcher last year. So she's got a little she's got a look back there and shug doesn't just enter to to say i'm in. He's into he's into win so anytime he's there you just going to be a great broodmare to him. If you're going to see mrs danvers. Like throw some champion down the road. She's got that in her and she's got the look she's very pretty and she has not been able to get to the level that i believe she can. Certainly she certainly has time to get to just yet. You never know. She's the kind of philly that come breeders cup time Could all the sudden develop an and be ready to to make her presence. I know she has it in. Hasn't come out yet Chance actually since we've mentioned central banker chance for central banker to make Bank in a couple of different graded stakes settings because in this monmouth cup. Here is the millionaire. The recent millionaire. We talked to steve asmussen about it and you could really towel after. He won the commentator. And i brought up. You know millionaire status. You'd really tell. Ask me since great affection for this horse. And he's a horse that they've kind of moved despite the state bread status. They've moved him all over the place. They've run against open company in in elite elite settings for years The five year old and also horse. That really has not had any measurable time off is that's pretty much stayed at. The racetrack is all career Bank it and dr post new york traffic comes back to town and night ops Feels like we have a big four the hassle. We've got a big four in the monmouth cup. If i had to remove one of them. I'd have to remove night ops with all due respect night opposite lack the knockout punch a couple of times particularly Over at keeneland a couple of starts to go. I thought he was supposed to go right by that field and did not and i'm silver dust fan. But he should've caught him that dan my opinion and as a result of that. I'm going to have to if you have to remove one of those i'm going to do it Steve landers great carmen from arkansas And a very cool guy is stephen and he told me his story recently about how he got into the brad cox bar and it was It was It was very entertaining. Story stevens Quite the character. I like dr posts. Putting the blinkers on in here You know he he. He needs to step up but this might be the right time for him to a doctor. Post i some reason. I liked him early in the In the In the met last time and that my got to my senses when silver state went off at a decent price and got off a but through a two and a clunker. last time. right dr post. I just never just not interested at all ready to operate. I love the common next sweep common many years ago When a horse named dr reality was running at santa anita. it said ready to operate. And i've kept in my mind to throw in for the right doctor ready. I love that line of creditors do. I'm not to pretend things are not my aunt or my own. That aren't would that came from sweep. Who i presume at that. Point was still jack. Carla years and years ago eddie dee aboard.

See me as for cookies for that as far as the burglary domestic violence. I'm curious if it said that. No one was injured at the residents. I wonder if maybe his wife had. I don't want to speculate too much about until the facts are clear in the case. But i'm very curious to see this was injured. I like i said. I don't want to speculate too much. What i think cabin. I'd rather know what what did happen. And i'm going to invite everybody to check out fit. Radio are good morning empire on friday morning where we'll probably be jamie. We'll probably be talking about this. 'cause we will probably have more details available on this but man it sucks it really really does suck and as far as i know. Richard sherman has never been involved in an incident off the field. As far as i know it sucks. I'm pretty sure you can kiss them. Back to the niners. By after ruben foster situation. I don't think that the niners are going to beef with that. Has any type of domestic violence situation. You know going on. Obviously we'll see what comes out in the case and you know sherman's record will be you know his he's gotta clean record so i'm pretty sure that will be taken into account so always the offer transition between real life and football life even though football is like We're going to go ahead and go into our all time. Forty niners defensive draft. We're going to start out on the d. line. And i think the d lives probably one of the easiest positions that you can do for the franchise obviously d. end. You're gonna have charles. Haley charles haley outside linebacker. Da and he's at war. I think makes a lot of sense. I mean honestly the best. I'm not gonna say the most talented 'cause i believe the most talented edge rusher team. His three is on smith but I mean charlie haley clearly the best edge rusher. She mystery outside linebacker. Rusher wherever you want to call it hall of famer and eddie. Dee didn't make too many mistakes. After the hiring of bill walls but one of the mistakes he did and he'll mitt is biggest mistake as owner was trading allowing charles haley to be traded to dallas Two girls for you know and obviously started their rise to power back to the niners many occasions. So we're gonna go to detangle yet again. Another while not pro football hall of fame but definitely this year will be officially inducted into this. Edward j debartolo senior hall of fame forty niner hall of fame in the nfl. All in the red and gold super bowl champion. Great guy ten times s award winner. I mean last night or chevy tires and have the carried off the field by his teammates. Just how many of really truly had that opportunity you know. That's another question. But i think. Byu deserves to get carried off the field by teammates all around great dude. Anybody who's ever met him said he's a great guy and honestly be wide needs to be in the hall of fame. I do not understand why he's not in the hall of fame and it is seriously really troubling that he is not going to are editor d. Tackle i'm going to go with. I know this'll be a controversial pick because it'll be other players they're available. But i'm gonna go with charlie crew. I think that charlie krueger dana stubblefield. I don't think you could go wrong either. Way you know as far as you know. Best player in one of the best players in the tackles in franchise history war your salary. I don't know why. Every time i do find early sundry coffee but yes charlie krueger. The other deanne slash outside linebacker. However you wanna look at. This is i. Don't think you can go anywhere else. "It's friday which means we talk with our buddies in the jury and we always start of course with that derosa eddie dee. What's up man now. Enjoying the summer the meets over Hanging out with the pan and looking forward to some downtime boy. I feel like everybody hits the road right after that spring summer meet. I think i talked to five people. There they're all going on vacation or you know on vacation already. Yeah that seems to be the and everyone's like oh you know you take next week off and You know the the fourth got a nice four day weekend so excited about that and didn't look. It didn't look at a single single race thursday or friday. I think we. I talked with somebody recently. About bose leo. We talked about breaks. And i think you have to do it at some point like i i mean i know a few people that can grind five days a week but That's a lot of work. Yeah well especially. I think just depending on your style handicapping and how you play just You know if it if it's taken you an hour or whatever to do a car then you need that break. But if you're someone who can just kinda you know go through like you know an it p more style. Maybe you don't need as many. But i definitely enjoy the respite. The church you'll meet the books. How was it for you from a betting perspective. I know we're gonna talk more about this when i'm up there next week but How they actually meet For you we'll from You know sort of my job. Paycheck top pick type thing. It was pretty poor admittedly just Felt like. I was putting the wrong horses in the wrong slot and less. You know less than opportunity on the table for those might be foul me Wagering wise prett- pretty good You know treaded water but oakes was a good day and closing day with salad so you know a couple licks here there but definitely wish i had a little better analysis and you know i know it's not all about the top picks but You know that is part of my job. And i do know people at the track which churchill had a really good live crowd this year You know it's just kind of what they gravitate tour. So i would've liked to have had a few more winners but shat picked up the slack so at least that some on the team did well i. I like to follow you. The post your guys stakes pick on twin spires instagram. Whenever they post those for like you know when there's a big card kind of thing. I always like to fall along. And i felt bad for shop because he had some like hot brown ran down in the last jump. Yeah that was I mean i. It did seem like it was one of those two in the The wise dan but man set piece That was something for sure that go inside horses and i'm eager to see what Brad does with him next. Because you know. I kinda think there's some heavy hitters from the brown barn. That might be a waiting down the road. You actually perfectly led me into what i wanted to talk about. Next ed and that was identifying superstars and not saying the setpiece is a superstar but to me i thought he overcame a few different things. He kind of had to wait a little bit coming into the stretch. He had to navigate through traffic he. I mean he was absolutely flying in the in the final. You know the whole stretch run but and he ran down a pretty decent horse. Obviously you know something. Hot brown isn't a as you said. Chad brown world-beater. But i think there's always little clues that we look for that maybe lead us to those. Those big horses like superstars. You know on the rise. Do you have things that you look for as far as identifying. Maybe who will will catch your eyes a superstar. I think it's It's winning races like that because it was a great to some like it. Hot brown was in there. You know like you said not a world beater but A good horse that you will make you earn it and set piece. Could have had an excuse and he didn't now you know whether or not he's actually a great one animal. We still need to see He hasn't faced that level competition but You know when it comes to two year olds or you know Who's the brown or who won the spending. Need it in thank you domestic spending like what he did in the old force or Even the dead he with the you know liam's Colonel forces running together You know he kind of looked like maybe the next big thing and there was sort of passing the baton. They eat it Those type of performances. Where you know there could have been an excuse why they didn't win and they still overcame it. You know say what you will about. John yada And you know we can go through the competition and the synthetic and all that raced race some of that stuff kind of play but the end of the day she won nineteen in a row. And in some instances coke asleep beaten and still got it done so to me. That's just kind of one of those benchmarks that hints it you know. These forces are capable of superstar. Things this is in yatta house. It's always safe. You can always say nice things about on the show. I will not i will. This isn't some naira naira podcast. Or anything like that very good any any personal highlights of the churchill meat for you I thought i mean. The oaks was spectacular and You know a little bit of confirmation bias for me but Pack that searchers all came back and won is s. She did Sort of validates. The okay. I think being kind of a special race and i would just you know definitely say overall having fans back You know after the the pandemic and the twenty twenty season that a lot of tracks had and there was there was an appetite. You know it wasn't just oh they were there derby week that came out for a big day or so It it was robust every day and that was great to see in in great to be a part of it was a fun meet and obviously the stephen foster kinda put a bow. And what did you think about max field. I i actually talked with this with. I believe it was james but you know i read somebody saying we didn't learn anything about macs field and do you think we learned anything or did we need to learn anything about at this point. I don't think he knew anything. I i'm always confounded by what You know the the cog necessity is is looking for race to race and it always seems to change and just sometimes depends on who owns trains the way i handicap and assess performance. You know very by the numbers and everything. I looked at his best race was the big cap and he didn't win but you know so many people were. Oh you didn't want to go that far and you know it sucks to lose especially when you're the favor maybe that makes you doubt that was best race of his career today. And then he came back in the alysheba. And i thought looked scintillating In there and i tried to beat him wanted to and felt extremely fullest. After the fast sprawl that was trying to think sprawl had a really good. Yeah no i'm sorry. The race the other day in the foster. I didn't think mack feel could lose. And i don't say that's the brag. I mean he was two to five. But i just thought based on the big cap the alysheba. He came back after his first loss and looked at that to me is good as a horse can look and i just thought you know. The foster was was his delusion. I didn't try to try to beat them well. Any we're going to sit down next week sometime earlier. In the week. And we'll have an extended chat talks and bedding some churchill some louisville stuff. I'm excited to see too. I haven't seen in a while. Yeah it'll be good. I think the last time we saw each other. I just gotten a new car. Oh that's right. Skyline chili say a new car. New do you know anybody that's ever been on. The price is right did i. I don't know anybody who's been on an well. I guess now. I know emily. That was kind of fun to hear that interview. I bookmark 'cause. I wonder why i wanna watch the.

Just say that. Had the conversation with him. He and believe me i was like odor u-haul pulling up out out so i gave home so at this time and i'm like okay. I'm just going to go to school fulltime. Well i was on. My guy was working for dc. Ps at the time she was like well we haven't they're having a fear. I think you should check it out. So i went and got hired on spy. So special. education Eddie dee school and where we serve all students of different disabilities okay. Then they close it down probably like three years into that. I switched over to a high school Where i became a loved eastern. It was a good time good work. So that's literally how i fell into it okay. announce a day said day. I work for a nonprofit. Here in dc where i am a college purple visor. I worked with students in high school nine through twelve helping them figure out where they wanna go what they want to be how to get there helping them to map out a plan of success. Okay and i do. I follow the rules of the organization. But i do put a little sizzle on top of it because i watched my mother who has also been in education for a long time. She was a vocational director. Here in dc for so between her and my uncle does watching them work with students. I was like that's where i'm supposed to be. And so he was right. I wasn't supposed to be a teacher but at that time. We didn't have all of these other roles in education. Gotcha so he was technically right. But i was also technically right. I love supposed to be an education. I knew that was my that was my my movement. That's why i needed to be those. Were the things that i really cared about. College and career are really important to me. And i think also because when i graduated high school i was only seventeen and i didn't know what i wanted to do as a mother. It's like you have three choices. You either go to college. You said you don't think you want to do that. You go to the military. I know you're not a full time job. So i got a full time job and by the time. I don't even think i've made a whole year. I was like oh yeah also you chill about closer. Have you before you went away. That's smart yes. So i was like oh working. Is this ghetto a degree soccer..

"He's GonNa win the Breeders Cup Sprint with this horse I shouldn't. Yeah. Okay. Bobby sounds like Deborah Bobby Frankel line. You know he's GonNa say that but you're thinking he said, I'm not I'm telling you. I'm going to win the breeze sprang with. That was kind of funny you WANNA listen to a a lineup is a fourteen horse field and the favourite was defending winner Kona Gold who had a run in the previous four and has gone gone from fourth to second to first. And he's off the ends up off the board, but listen listen to this. Sprint lineup, and this is what's so crazy about about what's happened to the sprint. Squirrel Squirrel was first extra heat was second. Caller, one was third. Call the one by the way when kids now arrived to horses got off the van from California when was is now in the other was called a one. He was the first off the van and got out the van right after him. Swept overboard was fourth. Okay. It was. Yeah. He was a really good comes behind yours with Eddie Dee and kmph was flying at the end from dead last and gets beat about a length Left Bank swept overboard left bank with John. Delaware township with EIBAR COA was expelled. I I'm not even warming up. Five. Star Day. Kona Gold Seventh Five Star Day was eighth with gold medals. Peeping Tom. Patty rentals. So it's all all run run and sons a guns and one run bech extra. On and on I mean it's just crazy. Out alleman who I vaguely remember. How I was was tenth Mozarts. Mazorra was eleventh. Your opinion. With Mick Kinane. L. Korea door was twelve. L. Corridor was twelfth Victor. He was the second choice. Don't dad no dirt mile then because he was, he was like the best miler in the country. Unbelievable. Then that on sunshine who of course was coming off a third the previous year for Paul McGee and was was a huge third for me in the the previous year with Kona Gold and honest lady, he's thirteen knocker..

"Like man. You remember the early odds I do. It wasn't great. I mean these aren't great either. These times are fucking. Be Know in some ways now. I think about it and maybe this is good like. At least we're socially aware now. Yeah, and we didn't have back. How we lived and we learned from it, and we have shed glowed up. We load up. We did though people fucking do that, so you know what? Thank you, Mo.. Shitty pop. Yeah, thank you for all of this. Because we glowed glowed up from you. Your else like load up from. Reggae Tone Oh my God, I'm finish this up. With a little bit of Daddy Yankee's lie gasoline. Tim. Question. First of all. However, I never heard the song before. This is like the EH. Tom Song everyone knows this song second of all. How did I not know that reggae tone sounded like this? I thought it was completely different. All pretty much oughta get done goes. To do yeah I didn't expect it to be like club Dancy Oh God lot. Specifically supposedly like types like Daddy. Yankee and Don Omar. They're very dancey third question. Why is he yelling at me? I'm what did they do I sorry. Love the gasoline. Is that what he's saying. Oh buckle up. There is A. Look there was a time in my life where I get tone was dominating my ipod and Daddy. Yankee was the real. Of that time in my life teen even know Daddy Yankee. Was that John Rocker Oh God. I, Fuck in love. I missed out on a large chunk of the two thousand s Mike. There's even some pit bull that I kinda like because he'll dabble in it and I'm like I'm not. Very much reminds me of pit bull. Oh. Absolutely exist because of people like Daddy Yankee Okay Yeah Oh. Yeah, for better or worse. Send your worldwide exist because of Papa Yankee. Though he was one of the main players to bring Spanish into our pop and hip hop songs to help finally normalize hearing on American Radio Station Yeah. I remember listening at a tone when I was in like a later college in early twenties and thinking. Why isn't this shit on the radio? wisn this on American radio? It wasn't like New York City or Philly bigger cities, but up here. No, you didn't hear it now you do. You'll hear like vanish speaking, so the lyrics go as thus. Ias Gustav Gas Lina Dharma Gas Selena Kamala Kanta, gasoline Selena dyma- Maga Selena, which rees, she likes the gasoline. Give me more gasoline. She loves the gasoline. Give me more gasoline deep now, real introspective, many thought of this was a reference to a woman like in the Dick or maybe even drugs for example when this song was explained to me by my Dominican friend. She's like oh she likes the gasoline. She likes to pump the gasoline. What the listeners don't know right now as I'm doing a jerk off motion so I assumed that it meant she likes to pump gasoline. She likes to pump Dick. Okay! I always thought that's what that song was about. Okay like I thought it was like. Similar. Sure I don't know for. For Handy's yeah mean. Real intellectual lyrics here with them metaphor. You heard the song you saw some of the video. Yeah, but it's not far fetched of an idea correct. Those ladies were wearing very short skirts so clear. They're going to get your hands off the way their trust. Look at the way they're dry. I didn't mean that I just met in his aggressive way of delivering everything so aggressive very is very aggressive. It's kind of I like it I. Think Weird Anyway. However, Mr Yankee claims that's not true. Of course he would claim it's not true. It's in fact one of the most innocent songs ever. So? He says he was inspired one day while sitting at his home in San Juan Puerto Rico just listening to the sounds of the streets below. He heard someone say Cuomo. Selena meaning she really likes the gasoline, which was meant to taunt the women who would only take rides with guys in the flashiest cars because when you have a flashing. Own. Assume you need a lot of gasoline? For I mean? Yeah, they get like two miles a gallon, right? Gopher my own. That's like five gallons right there. I watched your fucking tank pissed that. A waste. I would not be one of those girls are like you're wasting money missing it away, yeah. Honestly. That kind of makes a little more sense than Pumpkin Dick. It does, but also does it. All Right? Yeah, I guess it does, but also I really like the dirty version head. The words got stuck in his head and from there the hook was born. He worked on the rest of the track with his friends and producers, looney and Eddie Dee the added the rapid fire verses, and nearly assaulting base driven beat to create an earworm for the ages. You're going home and have the stuck in your head at promise you. So? Yeah, maybe it's not about sex drugs, but I'd say this song is still a bit misogynistic and how it. May then mindless objects that are just looking for rides and cars. But I guess overall. It isn't as exciting as initially thought it was. It's not about Handy's in the back seat, which is one hundred percent one? I thought it was. But still it was really hilarious to watch my. Entire family mother father. Older, aunts and uncles assistant cousins, dancing their pants off to this at my wedding. At one point I look at my nephew, who is half Puerto, Rican and God. They don't know what they're dancing to..

"Times since since he passed Friday and You know there point on the backstretch there you know I it was. It was very much in doubt to the naked eye Although Eddie Australia you know a little deceiving but the the great thing about AP MD was as great a rate source as he was and he was Y'All you never got the feeling that he was invulnerable. I it was always your is kind of on the edge. You see because he was a horse. That was smart enough that you know. He didn't need to win by ten lengths or twenty lengths. You Know He. He was only going to do what he needed to do. And so he kind of gave that that vibe off of always being. Wow what's going to happen? You know I was thinking to get there. Is He not GONNA get? There isn't GonNa hold on but you know I think he was a much greater ray source spend look to the naked eye. It's funny you reference it that way because Because Neil credits or identifies Eddie dee as being you know. The the instrumental part of that that that Delahoussaye didn't feel the necessity you know to win off by open lengths that You know he he took a of where where APN was and and where the race was you know was unfolding and moved. Moved appropriately without you know without a need to you know to pile on the you know y.

A H came out to California. That's it that's right and meeting with Seattle. Slew produces a p Indy. What do you recall about the decision to retire him at that point Because we deal with this era everybody you know yesterday with Kathy's announcement and You know people so frustrated when when horses retire with without seeing them as elders what what would what do you recall from from that discussion What do you want to so that you've got to deal with the insurance and she's drinking? You know not like that. So there aren't a lot of options so in those days there wasn't there was no D- by captain of salary. Cap The Pegasus so You know on the train. The following year sure things so much changed now big huge presses for the good horses. If I'm going to have to leave you I understand so anyway. Thank you and We'll reach everybody will neal. Thanks Neil Drysdale and AP indy racing career You know you do wonder You know it you don't WanNa take away from anybody from any horses successes that over the course of that period but It is hard to. It's hard to envision whether it's a healthy there's a few. There's a few horses historically that when it comes particularly comes the derby that you think about that Yep he the assumption is is made I. I can't I don't want to take away from Lily. T who who's a personal favourite and And of course you know for for Cal Party and Pat Day and Lynn Whiting. I mean that that's actually a there's a sidebar if AP is sound and and gets to perform and wins Pat Day wouldn't would not have likely had a a derby winner right. That's that's a that's an aspect of this discussion you know the quote unquote the Derby with his name on it as as pat day famously misquoted. P. conversation so yeah that was good you know not definitely nice to the warriors actually spent he was their only representative at all star weekend we're talking to Carla turno covers the warriors for the San Francisco Chronicle make sure you follow him on Twitter at Khan under score kron of.

"The rug pulled from out and under the Rainbow Anybo six it had it all we we'll we'll wait into this and actually in some ways. We're going to jump right in because after this quick break this quick opening the Ganbat is GonNa join us and he's got a busy morning but I just so looking forward to talking to him because the upset the awesome again and Mongolian groom who I I still don't I've never understood the wedding funeral thing but I loved him when he came to the Woodward. Was I smart enough to veteran Saturday night. No unbelievable my ugh. Oh My golly group is really had a good middle part of the year and we'll talk to get that momentarily part of the story of course out there able Silvio and the huge huge weekend he had he gets his first grade one earlier in one the Grey A to John Henry we'll talk to fill D'Amato who had a mammoth weakened himself winning the Eddie Dee and the Rodeo drive and John Henry Sa- do three graded stakes because he won on Paradise Woods yesterday in his Yada as well and really one of the really big jock storylines Johnny heavily involved as well of course out at Santa Anita for opening day on Friday and and sweeps the great one two year old races for Bob Baffert with eight rings who really fought and vast it it was very good in the chandelier and Johnny comes home and wins on bid Nyepi Sue basically a place holding performance for four Mike Smith was busy on Mackenzie and then and of course the Gold Cup and Jockey Club Gold Cup controversy and discussion and controversy. I I don't know I ah what's controversial about that decision. It was a wonderful race vino Rosso absolutely was tremendous and did not deserve that fate however the biggest controversy about the DU the is not the DU itself q there was plenty there for bringing Vino Rosso down and putting up code of honor. It's just that we're so used to not having the hurting violations were so used to not seeing them called and that's what took people back I mean plenty of people said well. Yeah I mean uh they'll never take him down. Well they did and it if that if that's what's going to be the case and they're going to police jocks that way for hurting and and for you know basically impeding progress we see on the turns. We you know the New York we're so we're so used used to it and of course Deke like this sets off the tin hat portion of discussion. Oh they favor they favorite johnny and they favour Shug at ferrets. I wanted you WanNa go in that direction. Go ahead I I don't I don't buy that and when it happened. I said you know there's enough. There's there's plenty here to the second vomp in the third and Ortiz going left handed and not letting up left handed the that enters into the equation and for those that say oh code of honor was never going by right. He was is never going by when there's a horse that is dragging him out to paths right. He's not I mean we've explained this a million a million times and I will keep discussing it because whenever these come up it it has to be reiterated and you can get some some riders to discuss it certainly Tony will will get it the and and you know John. Velazquez doesn't doesn't send it upstairs all that often as he said it it was a matter of inches at the wire and how how can how can that activity not be enough to compete code of honor. You know to get to the wire I I so the bottom line is and the interesting side Bar that will obviously keep discussing is that code of honor does not seem to be heading to readers cup very much seems to be planning on calling it a season and freshening running for his four year old year meanwhile later out west the other big great one for older horses three and ups use the awesome again and all is on Mackenzie and higher power to some degree but Mongolian grooms performance in the Pacific classic sick that then saw him come to New York. We talked about it enough. I thought coming to New York and the firmer tighter Saratoga surface that he would skip over it and it might have been a little bit too much two weeks after the pack classic but individ- Ganbat combat fresh and gets ready for the awesome again and he was brilliant every step under able to deal a one ten buyer for the gelding and individ- got that joins us now congratulations innovation thank you so much. It's it's so much fun and you and and the Mongolian stable thinking back to Golden Saturday and you've you've you've had a handful of horses and they've been very good moved out to California a couple of years ago and fit right in talk about out Saturday and groom up against Mackenzie Quiz Sir the race on Saturday talk about your feelings going in or okay oh he'd be I expect my for school reading these because it was even seeks also to weedy with America Macon's the and higher power things right bit when maybe country accounting yeah. DVD expect my doing but it happened and I was really happy L. A. Without the without a doubt and you know you you came to New York after the Pacific classic and he was in he's been in such good form. I talk about him developing even being okay. I we go to Sara Togo because he was chance to win. woodwork. I am too to be invited to Jack on the eastern grew to Sarah Butler told who is very fuss back in my courses so I I think wolf tonight. I like like each stock attack like you're in jail. Yeah now that makes sense and you you come back to Santa Anita. You brought him straight back and really didn't do very much training with him. You just you just let him kind of breeze into Saturday it's he he comes to syrups over very condition but come came back for uh tired because the tim what's really hot two hundred degrees and saying he sweats and and I wasn't what's The scariest thing I realized in just getting his job and he could Christian go to win you used they're able Castio Sedillo oh on him in the summer in in in the San Diego and the Pacific Classic This was a this was a very impressive impressive obviously an impressive weekend forsa. Do He's he really open semis. Were you surprised he went to the lead lied. I suppose it time and time awards so we'll five like twenty report forty eight and I think it's okay she come do what was amazing was off the turn earn at the top of the stretch and he just powers away and that was the part. I it really Mackenzie never got all that close to him he. He just scooted away. Come two times to him but I'm surprised my whole school like Eddie easy even looks like he's even crying calm easy well. He made it he made it look easy and so did able to. Do all weekend three graded stake wins for him great one to Grade Two's this horse and Mongolian stable. This was a very modest purchase going back to OBI S. two years ago and you gelded him last year last fall and he just has been getting better and better and I give him because he was not so good then. Maybe I think we help he making guilting not too bad yeah and he shouldn't do you pay so would you ah the thing is sometimes if when you think like that then then they just never become the good horse they might be now the yeah now he put himself in very nice company and individual. Obviously you win the Breeders Cup Turf Sprint with Mongolian Saturday and and you went to Hong Kong with him you know the international racing scene very well. You didn't nominate Mongolian groom to Breeders Cup. So what what do you want to do with him. the rest of the year ah not being his house we bought two years old be a tail end all in the so maybe we could maybe route two colossus had leads to pay two hundred thousand dollars less you but but the he'd be two people suggests that it's fair that P two hundred thousand dollar and grandpop on elastic to be pushed model yeah okay I'm. I'm my own own goalie. I could not contact him today's because he's countries that he's doing and I cannot come back to you but Poland not walking the contact team in Tokyo goodbye with us and I I can't answer would be allowed because we have to sometimes we don't take to task for his his very calm would take him he'd Blake these as no doubt and with with the figure put up a one ten buyer and he's been competitive with the with the handicap horses through the summer so this was not a this was not a total surprise because he's been competitive padded but the the way he did it was what was was surprising so you'll once you talk to the owner you will consider taking someone in that that would pay the two hundred thousand Okra Eupol that they come a day. We will with it but if he said had to be. Maybe we sponsor yeah. I'm sure I'm sure you you'd have plenty of people would be interested in coming in with you to run in the classic. I'm sure that makes sense that that's you. I'm sure you'll you'll get got plenty of plenty of offers that way. How many horses right now individual training sixteen so bad the you've been you've always had about twelve to twelve to sixteen? That's been about the number that you handle all you a lot of times. We have a baby I really would two years old yeah. I grew Kentucky Derby next year. Yeah you got you got some good. Have you got some good two year olds that you're excited nice well this as always a lot of fun and everybody that remembers the the the Keeneland Breeders Cup and how exciting it was with the with the you know the owners and everybody traveled from Mongolia really the kind of exciting again and you've you've you've gone forward and the move to California what what moves you out to California California. What what appealed to you going out there or okay? You couldn't pay not trim on Saturday. I may move up to eighty four near because when I come a new sometimes the Cap Cup we simone go against it. I am just sick isn't Vegan nice great to train her because wait this really nice not like sixty percents committed really life because when I was in I I think some products winter I might go to cal State Park Miami easing in the morning Radio Brady Hawkes include the office three to mark. You know I like it. Well and you've you've done you've of continued to do very well and nobody can doubt what you can do with a with a nice horse and you've brought Mongolian groom Ah to elite level and it's funny you've got three three great at stake wins and two great one's pretty very good. We're going to watch we'll watch the story and we'll see what happens if if the owners if you guys take on a sponsor and take on a partner for the the classic so story Ori We'll story to watch going forward individ- congratulations again. Okay thank you very much. I appreciate it was a lot a lot of fun and and of course for. Do an amazing an amazing day nice he's got a big future where it'd be yeah but you're yeah get bat everybody and Mongolian groom who just just wasn't going to be corralled by McKinsey Kinsey just just every time he came to him each spurted away and at twenty five to one. I was shaking great job. Thank you about we'll see we'll see you out there for Breeders Cup. Okay thank you in the fish can fact everybody and the Mongolian stable and unbelievable flatter foot they talk about the world championships right with the Breeders Cup and the scene with the Mongolian only unstable was that was one.

rare guys where it like the first time I ever met Peter was when we went to the Pearl Jam show and I think that was twenty thirteen and I never met him before ever if you've been in this we've all been in this situation we got like your crew guys and then the bringing somebody in the brain somebody and you've never met before I take a seven eight times out of ten it's not going to match that guy's going to be like the outsiders like immer fought this guy and what is supposed to do with this guy skies over here like clogging up the works it was nothing like that with hard love Hartland came many just slid right into the groove next thing you know it's Tony creative Tony myself in you and hard love and it was if we'd been hanging out like our whole lives yeah I mean he was so easily incorporated into the crew there's no question about that number we had the the tickets to pro Jammin and I had the extra one and I was thinking whoever it was one of those moments of inspiration great night just a lightning bolt hit me and I was like bring them in our love yep as the guy and then shortly after that I ran into heart love and his son at a rush concert down in San Jose and I met his kidneys by twelve thirteen years old at that time and Peter just one of the great guys manages one of the great dudes out there yeah man so anyway sub so Brad is on fire and he took all the pictures and then late last night he sent me a text it was just a link and I was like what is this it had had Korean writing on it and as I want and I clicked on it it was ready for this by Jill Mack Japanese culture of baseball's we different they treat it like a religion almost and is adapting to the game I'd say if you catch it on TV like diving for fifteen or twenty minutes I wouldn't say like make your kids sit down and watch I once read a book on Japanese baseball called you gotta have WA why Japanese word for heart you got to have water was about a guy going over just covering Americans in Japan I like to also reference everybody's got a hungry water we move forward with humble laws nice dude anyway here just to give you guys a little taste a Max he's walking down the hallway shaking hands with a bunch of Korean guys it's funny one of the guys walks in he's wearing a Celtics flat brim and in Korea in Max's room that goes Celtics fans Celtics and the guides kinda looks at him he's "To people who died nearly hung around to see how the game turned out the last couple of characters could have lived through it, but decided to sacrifice themselves to ensure their loved one safety. Thank you for the encouragement and keep up the great work. John coward, catered K word pronounced Kay word. Oh man. Sorry, John k word. Let's see. PS I would I would love an episode on RPG magic items. Maybe something like, what qualifies what qualities make great RPG magic system or how can magic be made for fun made fun for the non magic users in group. PS S. I didn't say this earlier. It was my first teepee PK as well. Hey. John, keyword all these damn have rain. I gotta go, and edit the patriot list at the end of every show that you're on John, but thanks for correctness and awesome. Good for you man for stepping up and running a game. Gotta con- is awesome Renan. And you ran a game. I don't know if you didn't he joined and say here, but let's assume one of those people did not play dread before. People who died early hung around to see how the game turned out. Holy crap, people were interested. They had fun. And somebody somewhere was then exposed to a game. They played before. Or maybe only heard about right? They had fun. And that's awesome. I mean anytime people stick around to Seattle game turns out, even characters dead. John did find job man. Very well done. Good work. Who? All right. Good. Lord co Joe's back. Steal myself down bourbon here. All right. Go Joe at the risk of playing ping pong response. With Carson issue had previously asked about understand the Carson, I prefer different styles. So there really isn't a point argue there, but I did want to Brian some additional context, my original thoughts one I can't speak to for more modern games. They're five year Pathfinder, but other games, I'm familiar with average stats like eleven do not handicap, a character may make something's more difficult. But that doesn't mean the characters doomed characters with some scores in the five to seven ranger still very playable in all the games that I play I play some pretty deadly games DC for Eddie. Dee be call through Louis cetera. Often number too often, you the sense from talking to gamers, who are much newer to the hobby that I am that there's assumption that older games are somehow lesser game to certainly gotten more complex and gaming theory is changed. Devolved will cost anyone to soon that old. Tropes, mechanics are in some way, flawed at the only hold onto them from the style jurys inns three to Carson's point about mid Maxine who. From players being denied the agency of doing things excuse me, not list on the character, sheet, and are not being given meaningful choice during character creation. I can't speak to other people's tables. But at my table, this is not an issue is actually the opposite. Many older gamers. Lacked the detailed skills feats at cetera that newer games have in them. Many older games, not gamers. Many older games, lacked, the detailed skills, feats etcetera the newer games have in them anything. This leads my place to have more agency about doing things not on their sheets. There are very few limits to what they can try. The odds of success may be very based on what they're trying to do what they're Billy scores are etcetera with your free to try pretty much anything. Therefore my players do not feel the need to mid max PC's at started play because I understand that I will likely role with what they bring me during the campaign. If anything, if you my players moral role agency would often hear about newer, addition games. Yeah. That's something important where I think is lost on some gamers. That has been part of the min max piece of some of the other more tactical ones we've talked about skills before we had on this, or Rian limitation, flame, Princess of run Biak style games in of guys in my group without. Character sheet with the fullest of skills on what to do. Well, not even that. Some people stop. They don't know what to do without a list. No. But what I'm talking about is the fact that you gotta have at eighteen to do anything or you gotta have a score with a modifier to do anything you don't you don't get together, the you don't need. What co- Joe is saying is I an I understand completely is an eleven is not a bad score. A nine is not a bad score. It'll modify maybe one or two skills and five, but if it's if, if that piece is not specifically applied to a mechanic in a negative manner, then who gives a shit if it's an eight five six four it doesn't matter. So if you play it that way. Right. I'm saying in back in the day that there are maybe a couple of skills, like fighter wanted damage into hit, so their strength was always going to be high. If isn't if his intelligence, low doesn't have any extra languages whose wisdom's doesn't get he doesn't speak, another language who gives a rat's ass back then. Right. Yeah. So the con- may come in. To play. But other than that, it doesn't they didn't have skill. So it wasn't like well, if I have a low here and low this and a low that, that all my skills suck and I can't do anything, which is not the case. And that's what they fixed in five anyway. Five eighty you get an ability check. It's an ability check. And then your skill modifies it, essentially. Right. So you make a, a dexterity acrobatics. Check what back in the day, if you made ability check it was roll under the under the number usually Mashburn's right in now because hires better. And now it's against the DC the difficulty class, or whatever the challenge, whatever you wanna call. It is make a decks check makes it make wisdom. Check make this check, which basically but at your acrobatics if you have it great, but the DC's twenty fuck now. I've yet to have a DC twenty while you don't blew me enough five. You have a DC twenty five fuck. Yeah. I muscle people all the time dude to your, I guess. Crazy high. Yeah. You'll know what they're trying to do. That's true. But you made it sound like you have them every day. No. What I'm saying is that what or say is those things out there? Right. You have DC levels. I'm not talking about the, the frequency of DC difficulty. What I'm saying is. I'm back in. Yep. Okay. Can you? It's just a it's a skill check. And there is oftentimes feeling that if you have a. You have a skill that has a negative in it. I suck that does hit some players. Only have a three I blow live in eight I suck. I've got a negative way. We'll plus euro, I'm terrible at this does happen now. That doesn't mean. That. I mean, what Goja saying is that he can't speak for other tables, which absolutely true? He can't. And I can tell you that I have played with people who without who don't know how to or want to, I guess, I shouldn't say, I don't know how to because that's too strong. They don't want to play with the list of skills. They don't. Which is why the game are God's made many games. Anyway, we got one more point here number four finally, there's assumption. But some gamers, that their fighter isn't significantly different from their friends on paper, and that isn't fun to play per karston exemplify fire Sixers five or seven but am I table and Boeing going back to my beginnings in hobby was never looked at in that manner? Do players rule character with similar stats and both those strength. Fourteen is the best score and they both probably would take fighters based on their stats. However, there also have then had have significant agency to make their fighters unique very different from each other, simply through character, bits, they developed during the campaign, for example, Christmas fighter by by bow and have a background is a hunter giving him more some advantage in certain situations. The bow over Tom's fighter. Don may choose to have his fighter be more barbarian EULEX to smash things in charge in the Malay. The point is at my table, you could give all my player characters with the same status. Same class in each player make that care to their own campaign choices mechanical rulings. We give them amazing. Amount of agency in making their characters their own without having to do it at character creation before. They've gotten a whiff of what's going to happen in the campaign hope that clarify some things. Thanks him Cogil. Yeah. I also on that on on that bit too. And I know Brenton a- Brett's talked about some of his group wanting to play a different system so that they could be different based on the Bill and I would say, if you took all of game of thrones and everybody that wielded a sword. Are they all different? I don't want to give it thrones. Do I don't know? I mean likings any show with a people, wielding sorts. Title, fight, the are different. They're all different people. They're all different. But so to talk Tate, say, like one fighter is the same over the other just because they have the same status. But if to go back to Carson's point, though, Carson, very clearly said, this is not my type of jam this is I prefer this other stuff. I don't like this feeling. Sure, like this other thing, and I think I've met co drove talked to Kodjo. Nice guy, reasonable dude. He like, you know, I. Not my gig now. That's not my kind of fun. I like this other kind of fun. And I think the danger any of us get into this is Carson in Kolja aside, the danger, any of us can get into is when we say someone is having bad wrong fun, one way or another the game you're playing has no agency the game. You're playing doesn't allow for acts. You're only doing that. This is unbalanced baba if they're having fun. And I know some people get off on this do they'll get Pissy because they'll save you're having fun. That's good enough. But honestly, if you're not gaming to have fun. I don't know what the fuck you're doing. Right. So if Carson saying, look, man, Geico. I just can't have I don't think I would have fun doing that. I'm just it's not my thing of looked at it doesn't turn crank it all Carson awesome. Totally cool coaches, like, you know, I don't wanna do that newer thing. It just doesn't have all this fun over here. Awesome. I told AJ Madison the other day I said he was asking me about different games. If I had my eye on something new, and I said, you know what Jim getting very picky. But the games I by Dr trails from our buddy, Dave Beatty. Not just because he's our buddy, but I've played it. I like it and I don't have a western I would really like a weird west game. I think it'd be fun. I looked at deadlines. Did I enjoy the rule set? So hey, this looks cool. But my larger point is that Sean, and I each have enough games, inner collection right now between PDF's and hardcovers. I never need to buy another game again ever. One of the main reasons I think off. We'll hunt for a game because all we really think this looks cool. We really think whatever, but the end the day, sometimes the reason we end up buying new games is because I don't have to play with if you wanna play face to face. I really wanna run up ex game I wanna run is and one on first edition ADHD, I wanna run star frontiers. I don't have anyone who has it knows it understands it or wants to learn it. Okay. I'll buy the Star Trek game because there's gamers. I know in like who I wanna play that with. But I think there's, there's so much different. There's so many different types of fun, Kolja type versus Carson's type, and it's not even versus. They're just different flavors of both having a good time, ensuring that they feel that they have maximum agency, the maximum ability to kick some serious acids, a table. And if you found a group that really works for you. That's awesome stick with it as long as you can. And, you know, you could try new stuff I've talked to go Joe, he'd try something if as a, hey, I want, I want you to try, this Avalon gamer, right? If I be he'd be like, all right. Not my thing, but I got time. Sure. I'll sit down. I'll try it out with L play. No. And he he'd have fun. No fun. You might walk away going. Yeah. I really wish you ran would be actually I'd had more fun with that. It's just whatever it, doesn't it really doesn't matter. But I think good comment back from co just kind of level set. And I think even Carson's perspectives not even that sounds like dismissive of UCAR apologized, but I think Carson's perspectives relative, you know, that's just not the type of fun that he likes her prefers. And that's absolutely Jit John anything from you..

"Well, the warriors deal with the Phoenix Suns tonight and a beaten Phoenix seventeen of the last eighteen times, they played them. Phoenix. Also doesn't have TJ worn Devon Booker gametime decision. But the bottom line with the warriors having won thirteen out of fourteen. This is all about how the warriors play and against San Antonio, the third quarter was absolute magnificence when you watch the team seventeen of eighteen shots and seven different guys contributing to that with fifty fast-break points. The warriors are a wrecking ball writing at all through the NBA. Now, every one of these games Phoenix. Or when they see Denver twice. They all count the same. So for the warriors. You can't have a letdown both mentally or physically heading into the all star break because you have Phoenix Miami, Utah, Portland, just four games four games. They got a week off. And so you're the one seed in the west right now, you want that one seed, and you're not gonna. Rip up against a team that you would you should beat. Now. Look at Phoenix's last win because they've lost twelve and a row it was against Denver. A Denver team came into Phoenix overconfident and got got by the Phoenix Suns. And so if you're not careful you're gonna have Devon Booker Jackson and one of these guys have a monster game Jackson, scored twenty five or more three straight games. But this is all Steph clay, K D along with Draymond and DeMarcus cousins game nine and they started utilize them down low a little bit against San. Antonio fact, he was eight of nine free throwing in one quarter in the warriors. Got him the bonus in the third quarter with eight eleven remaining. So all about the dubs tonight. Don't turn the ball over play that quality offense. Get the win. Get the deeper reserves, more minutes, get home and get ready for Miami. And the back to back with Utah, Portland. Keep on rolling heading into the all star break. That's the warriors goal for tonight professional that was. Joe? Rowe innings eater. Memphis. You say three minutes there. Proud of him, by the way. Before Devon Booker was out or he did say it was gametime. Don't turn the ball over. What about the part where he talked about their last one is against Denver and overconfident team. All about the doves tonight. Solid solid will nugget Denver Nuggets. Yeah. Yeah. Not as good as teacups teacups. But no solid. What we'd like to? That was real nice. All right. That is your dubs countdown to tip off warriors and sons nice job by fits in. There. You go. Got it out spun it around. Very solid. Stories today that we didn't talk about this all week long. Not that it matters to anybody. But values came out for NBA teams. Knicks fourbillion Lakers. Three point seven words at three point five. And I would imagine a year from now when they move across the bridge and move into the into the chase center up again. You might be right. They might pass the Knicks past the Lakers passing next. Can you imagine that the warriors the most valuable French NPA? I mean, that's incredible seriously. Sometimes I look I look at what they're doing the players just every decisions, right? They get this arena built when they first tried to do it down on the piers. It was like, dude. But they got got it built here. And it's like who made the deal with the devil, man. These guys were like bumbling idiots for twenty five years. What I remember it wasn't that long ago that was like David leave aided all star team. It's the first time since like since spree well in ninety four woo two thousand eleven. Like doubt long ago. Now, it's like a dream on's out there at least four thank you can have one for twenty years. Now, it's it's amazing. What they've done with that franchise. That was kind of hoping they'd go. They would go really really futuristic and high tech with the new arena. It's going to be really nice. There's no doubt about it. But I was hoping that it would be an arena. That'd be on the pier. And then it can go underwater. Allegiance to do. Or what is it like the submarine and Disneyland so like you're in there watching the game, and you can see fish swimming by like as the game's going on down below. And then after the game I thought you're saying that it would come up for the game and go down go down during the game. Oh, and then after the game comes let's everybody out. So everybody gets in your late. Lever? Sixty to eighty two. Sorry. Oh. It's underneath the water. Didn't the legion of doom do that like super friends and lead you to do when underwater I think legion underwater that it can come up lex Luther legion? And do what you've just said. No, that's not true one of the most insanely idiotic things. I've ever heard. I think we it do whenever waters. Response. And then it would come on it and everything then considered a rash. It's true. It's absolutely true. Then you see it. And they would have like the green goo on it coming up from out of the water. That's where you had the super friends in the hall of Justice. Okay. And then you had the legion of doom. And it was it would go underwater then would come on a big head of lex Luther nerd positive on that one. Back on that who wants fish. That's what I want. I wanted to have underwater underwater arena. That's. Ever. Do that every Friday. Anyway, that's kind of a isn't that a prerequisite of Friday? Picks or not to make sure that comes across now. I it's. Really? It's like, wow. Wow. This franchise was like the same way or franchise. I remembered for twenty years like and not that long ago. Like maybe ten years ago before Stephen before Mark Jackson. Is this has ever going to figure it out? And remember that was back in the day ten years ago when you're like man making the playoffs will be sweet. The playoffs. It'd be just no. Can they can they get a home-court advantage of cord? And now it's like we want him before the season starts, I get we're gonna win again. No big deal. I mean think about that. Like, how far how far the words of come? They can get a free agent like Kevin Durant to come to their team. They get a dollar to come to their team. That was when they weren't great. They were good. He saw something. He wanted to come to the team is like the first time that ever happened avoided. The warriors. Like the plague warriors, no I'll take I'll take less to go somewhere else. Now. I don't want to go to the warriors and get all it comes in the fortunes turned around. And all of a sudden, it's Montas out bogus in. And then this whole thing gets going and my goodness gracious. They bought this team for four hundred fifty million thereabouts. And people thought that was crazy. I can't believe you're paying four hundred fifty million dollars for team. It's not bad nine years later. The team is worth three point five you've made three the Bouillon dollars in nine years three billion dollars. I mean cheese. Wow. Nagel this thing. I mean, just nailed it lak- is on course. And again Guber. They're they're in course to go down with Eddie. Dee. Is the most revered owners here in the bay area. Ever what they've been able to do me think about eighty three or four. And so did he had five. Yes, they did five. I think you have to include problem with the giants as you're not sure do you go with McGowan nukem was air for a little bit burns. I mean is that one guy? Mcgowan deserves the credit. No doubt. They're definitely. Yeah. But it's kinda of always talk about it's a it's a team effort on the whole thing as a dating back to Finley at the raiders out. They wanted to spite him. But yeah. But I think I I think right now you look at the look at the owner in the teddy together brought the championship series, beloved and everything, but boy lake and Guber and probably more lake just because of the face of it is the guy you look at it and say. Well, we've talked about this all the time when you talk about modern sports, it's never been more difficult, and you look at the NBA right now, it's never been more difficult to keep up team together. And Kevin Durant. Likely leaves? Okay. You still got staff and you got dream on. But Claes a free agent cousins free agent that this is going to be this is going to test their mettle, which is why as we went out with Durant. Why it is is such a big story because okay you've gotten to this point. Now, you're going to be the crossroads in this off season. If he leaves the great ones, the Lakers, the Celtics the teams who kept going kept on going kept going day found a way to bring in that next guy or to keep that thing going somehow, and so that's their next challenge. And in fact, this week early in the week, I had this in my notes, we never really got around to it. But you'll like him said, well, we won't be outspent. And I agree. You know, he looked as far as the luxury tax moving into this new arena. Everything else they're not going to be outspent. But the players have to make the decision to stay back in the Niners day. Eddie Dee made it made the atmosphere. So great and free agency just wasn't as prevalent. I mean, obviously, what started to tear it apart Dion and Ken Norton, and all these all these guys leaving coming all these kind of things, but they had created such an atmosphere. The guys. Wanted to come in and salary structure. All this. Look, you have a luxury tax here you have a cap here. It's difficult nowadays to break like everybody, people are constantly still confused, which amazes me that if Durant leaves people go, well, we'll just keep cousins. It doesn't work that way. They can't they can't from that. So you can't replace. Okay, drought leaves. But because he's got a big space. That means you can keep cousins. No, it doesn't. So that's what's going to be difficult is keeping everybody together. So that this thing can be a dynasty that is longer than five or six seven year period. Maybe they could get cousins to take another one year deal, and then they'd ever the bird rights or something. I don't know how I don't. I don't know how it all works. But the one real quick one thing about the words that everybody's was bitching about drank coming over here, and all you really need to rand rance coming in. And then all you get cousins too. But they started this thing the first championship they won was that without obviously, cousins and Durant and the guys they drafted. Steph drafted clay drafted Draymond drafted Barnes. They're Barnes will be grafted guys. They didn't go out and buy this, man. They earned it. They flat out earned it. And. Then because they became a destination. The right no one wanted that has done. I want to come here is a Golden State people take the players that stop you. What did they Golden State now? Okay. Well, let's move on anything about the trailblazers. But because of that, and the culture they built then the player started come dollar was the first one dollar was the first one that says the way trade they had to manipulate and try to figure this thing out. I couldn't believe they got him. And then they win. And then you're like, oh Durant. Happy fun to play their cousins. Like when no one's gonna move. I wanna try to play. They're not only is it worth three point five billion this damn destinations five now. Like all the bio guys wanna come here. Oh, and not all of them. But I mean the lottery players wanna play here. I want to go play. You know, why do you want championship? And you could look good doing it in the process, and maybe get some more money coming out the other end. Yeah. It's happening like a decade. You know, what people don't even look at the whole thing. And the other thing, you know, the trades. They made I mean, the bogut trade. And then obviously Iggy dollars a free agent, but he came here via trade because of the way that they kind of manipulated that play. But the whole thing was nobody ever talks about this. When they talk about Durant coming here. They needed to clear extra space in Dallas took Andrew bogusch contract. So it wasn't like they say they wouldn't have been able to do that. Without that. They he they took. They took bogus contract off the books. Now, we to get rid of this guy. We so we can offer them the number in Dallas did. So it's not like everybody was oh, I can't believe this is unfair cousins tried to try to get a deal around the league to nobody offered him. So he went, okay. I'll just go to the words when a championship rehabilitate by image. And like you said, that's that's why I'm skeptical of the next because the warriors not only on the court. They did it. But now when you're talking about Bob Myers lake up and all these great this front office and Jerry West at the time was here. They needed him. He was important element. They don't need them anymore. But they did. And all of a sudden, I'm sure. Sure beyond money to obviously. But when the players went, geez, you got a great honor. There you got Jerry West there. You got Bob Myers Steve Kerr there. They put together a front office that could go to the Hamptons along with players and say, this is the vision look at the guys we have here..
