"It was really good torn. I didn't get it. And i was because i thought. Oh this is it. This is the turnpike going to get this. So i went for the additional. He's really good audition and it was like. I was gutted. I was like i think that was. I've missed the boat that the last chance. Saloon this is. I'm gonna put all of into this if nothing else happens that that's i'm packing packing bags and i'm and i'm done. Yeah yeah absolutely. I remember mark saying to me couplets. Has i think we've missed the boat. We weren't we we will go to we. We could've got through the door. Phyllis sometimes there's a door isn't it. You just gotta through it. Sounds new face and he's locked forever many years we're going to really aren't but yeah i remember once. It was nine thousand nine hundred and eddie brian. We denson's shows in brighton the beach and brighton. And jeremy said we just. I think we were quite despondent. She was fine. Go find it. Was this league sketches but it was just a treadmill time of doing it but to no avail really an to. I just remember jarvis. Cocker if just gonna keep going the fees and use of double down on. We can't stop. We mustn't give up So we didn't and eventually people's heads turn and you've doesn't always happen of course fucking millions of people that brilliance and it does not but also but also i think it takes time. I mean you look in backer star in the league at the canal cafe and anna the progression to radio slice actually so when you went to radio from gut from the sketches from edinburgh not would have changed from google from guarantee moving into at no not really although we really embraced because suddenly we were at the bbc radio studio and he was like. Wow this is where the goons so we wanted to make a radio version of our of our show and so we embraced using sound effects in the way they did and we thought if it's an hour a landscape let's really really try and use that and not try and do a tv series on radio so some of the sketches were in other things were created purely as as audio gags that mr chinnery the vet that kills animals. He was a radio gap because he was just thought we could do. We could have. Hello what seems to be the problem with this. And then you could do some squawking and some happening and the salaries the funny thing so some things with bowen out of the fact that it was radio. Yeah we didn't. We didn't skip over the radio. Thinking this is just the stepping stone to tell we really enjoy doing and We learned a lot from thinking. It really whittled down what it will learn an important thing about what is in what could be in the world of royston invasion that town and what couldn't because some things we some great sketches aware historical sketches or parodies of mode mysteries of things and they just didn't fit with the world. So you had to know that you might have great stuff but it doesn't cut doesn't necessarily mean it's allowed all to go in. You know we have tony. You surely don't wanna crowbar in. Yes exactly yeah scott think ways to fit you of it and so on the radio we already had. The characters of the types netted the the local shot but we didn't really fit so we didn't put mint until we have the tv and then we can help them now because they can be geographically of the town and we can go to them. And so yeah. It was a good lesson in self editing. Whose idea was it to move television or was this something that was pitched to you. It was all of 'em you leave it to say now but it was it in those days. Nineteen ninety eight. We our ninety seven. We got the radio series and it was a by media thing where you would get tv series on the back of your radio series. Wow so it was. We knew we do this then. You then the next step is the tv version of it so we knew that was the next step. I remember being very exciting. I couldn't quite take in by the day that we got that the radio series ended the t the leap tell after being excited by the bay by the radio but not really thinking ahead to. Oh my god that's the thing. That's the goal i just mother being. That was an amazing thing to get the radio series. So that was the next thing we were doing. And that was what was at the forefront of my solve excitement at the time. But but it's like you said ages ago the beginning conversation. Getting up and doing these sketches. There was never a were plan to go up. this is the next. This is the progression. We win that we go to that. It was never there. He was never there. He's funny because i see and i've heard that people use it as a blueprint. Now what you do is you get you. Do you form a team like a funny sketch troupe that do your all individual characters and then that becomes successful and then you get. I'm picked out of that group as individual comedy actress. And he's completely going about it the wrong way around because you just assume that that that's the thing itself getting that successful no. You can't just put together a team that you assume. Then we'll bloom in their own rights. Larry exact know all the horrible histories team where they're all individually really about that in itself has to be genuine thing. I think to start with and it was for us. And i do know that we didn't have it as a master plan but i also know that we.

"Movie was. In. The video store That was awesome. So Eddie Brian would sometimes have. Movies in there that. You couldn't pay for to rent. But they were. They were just sort of I don't know I don't know what it was, but there are certain movies that. I maybe they weren't allowed to rent or something but they. They would give them. They would like basically if you'd rent a movie. You could sort of borrow one of these other movies without basically having to rent it, and all of that makes sense or not good day. and. So Hey. So. You? Basically. I don't know maybe it was a movie that was. I don't know I. Don't know why they had special movies like that but it was really cool. Because it's like Oh rent these three movies you can. Also, borrow that movie you know take it back of course. So. Just a really good group of folks. And, in one of these episodes, Tony. told us what happens with that building Where it's at right now where it's going. WHO's connected? That's the aspect I can't talk about. Anyway. We're about to go into the grocery store here. Thank you for listening. We'll talk more later..

"Kofi healthy and ready to go telling cody can be champ again man without a doubt cutting champ him verse verse. Tom Cruise makes a Lotta sense. You're right about that. Especially if they want him to get a win before the given if to get maybe even in that tournament the format tournament that they want to do so that that the that that divisions can be a little bit of a kind of a halt until they decide what to do but with with Donald crews. Yeah why not? Why not man? I feel sorry to fight cutting carbon after this long layoff. He's going to unleash fury until buddy all right this one's from on Hell underscore twenty two For Tony Ferguson. Do you think cutting weight twice me. A bit may have played a part on the fight yet again. I'd like to Eddie. I don't talk daddy sites about Krona's shit in conspiracies but Saturday I'll ask him a massive Assume they say no? I can't help no can't handle eating twice. Can Help jet. Skiing was Uncle Dana having a heart attack during during the post fight. Why was he shaking his arm the whole time? I don't know if I saw that I didn't notice okay. He does look thick with high cholesterol. And Very Red Yes The King of New Hampshire that was cringes Suharto. That was a cringe publicity. Publicity's not yes or no. No that's not the way to get it done. He's done a lot of crazy stuff. That wasn't Grinchey. He's already done. Everything wants to do so again guys. He's told to multiple sources. He talked to me when he was on there. How long ago was I got probably done after this next one dude so off the top amazing art? You've covered a lot of these questions. But the deceiving do something with this one and five underscore do you think. Cruise should have said what he said about the REF Also do you think it was an early stoppage? Even if he was hit with eleven unanswered shots the restaurants are there to protect the fighters they are but the lighter weight. You can again. You can let them go a little longer than aren't going to suffer as much damage who was going back to his feet. If Cruz really did swell alcon cigarettes. Why the hell wouldn't you say that? And I don cruise isn't a guy who make shit up. I believe crews here. Why wouldn't you say that? Yeah it's to know Coleman Nineteen eighty-four sugar doom retire and start a new career in the thick boy bite club. Brazil chapter agree although he does live near me Well he used to Marina del Rey. All Verdun him up I can get you buy from specialized Santa Cruz or or why teams these. You're definitely perfect boy by Club don't deny embraced thickness to it like. Lizotte does were embracing the thickness. We're getting healthy wall staying thick. Maybe ride your bike seeking cinnabon. Maybe did twenty five miles. You can eat a box of good and plenty. He's like your boy. Maybe that's why you're doing it either way retire. Will you know he's had two years off comes back fighting a hell of a fighter. It's a tough fight. Not Ready to say. Oh He's done yet. Heavyweights can fight well into their twilight years so I'd like to see him At least one more time if you looks bad in that then yeah then we start talking already. Chris. J. T. Coil. We all know in Ghana's power Do you think if he came up against debate or DC lesieur etc. Do you think he could handle the wrestlers now? I think he's more equipped to handle the wrestlers than he was before when he fights debate. In here's something else. People should take note of when St Francis fought. Yes debate got the job done. He beat him steep. It took a lot of shots in that fight. Then he fought. Dc after that fight and got knocked out. I think that's do from those shots. That he got from Francis so I think Francis completely different fighter. I think that fight doesn't go the same. I think he does not us. Bay are just one more Mattie eighty-four MC do you think it'd be has a harder fight now against Justin? Yes much harder fight. I think we we saw What gauges capable of doing is find smart like that. He has great takedown. Offense is frigging power in the world can go twenty five minutes I just can't say enough good things. Good things about just engaging. I think the very very just the same as Tony. I was in Is much more dense fight for him than Khabib for Kebbi. This much more dangerous light for could be than. Was Tony Ferguson. "This episode is just people talking the other thing that was. I mean it didn't really follow any gotta get more fucking doc in Parker in this show. He didn't read Bob McKee's books. You know what I mean. I kinda can't believe they let me get away with it because it's just a character moving like a knife through the world talking into people talking to Weirdos one after the other we have a cumulative effect on her obviously Since people have seen the show can I. Can I just say the one last big thing was we. Didn't we got a real tiger guys. That was a big deal We you can listen to our live. Show that's coming up a little bit more of a general discussion. But we do get into the Real Tiger Edison. This show A tiger has a deep connection with I. I don't WanNA spoil anything from that conversation there any other like I'm trying to think if there's any other Manusha that I can point out to people in this pilot Cup like what other things would you. Would you give a tip of. Keep an eye on this without giving it tipping your hand too much every character. That's in it. Is there for reason and I love them all. I think they're they're phenomenal. When we were in edit forever the fact that singed drinks giant Alexander? Oh yeah is really really funny to me. Every time I would say Before you ask yes the hotel clerk Chip is no majd to to Barton Fink yes. I don't think anybody was questioning that. That was that was pretty clear. You know I just just I. The thing that was fun for me was falling in love with all these characters and all these actors and then getting tell them whether it was whether it's getting to tell them that that if things worked out we'd get to see them again yeah we come back and play and I don't can't tell you how rare it is because we only had four cast members under contract for the series. We only had Rosario Eddie Brian and Nj so what I'm saying to Charles Burnell who's totally in demand and went off to film top gun to in between the pilot and the series or David Zaldivar or or Tim Sharp will run this back. It's too bad that you guys couldn't keep Florence to you. You know that was a recast a waitress in the bars services that she would have been good But I would just you know. Keep an eye out for Allegra Edwards words who is play Cindy and is in the background in the apartment a lot and you know it's just the kind of thing that makes this job really fun. which is she is? It's a brilliant actor and she auditioned with a scene that I wrote for a potential episode two before we even shot the pilot and then ad-libbed that entire scene with great Chris. Mulkey All that business between the two of them was ad Lib. That's great all this stuff for the guitar and fiddle and like can you sing. You are my sunshine. which is like you're the sister all ad libbed and she's so great and funny funny and I always knew that the characters come back a little bit and by the end of it? She's a nine out of ten episodes. That's awesome so I think one thing that we call any. Yeah you're GONNA try and we're definitely GONNA talk about every episode in some capacity. I think it'd be cool not to turn the everyone in these into a mailbag. But I'd be very curious to know what other people want to now. I would love to answer. One of the things is that. I think that it's going to be tough because it is a mystery so we don't want to give anything away But you you know we we would love to talk as much as possible about this show because obviously it's pretty rare that the person who wrote and created a television show also has to come I and talk to me twice a week except for. Didn't they do that under. Normal and watchmen. That's true but it's like it's like Click Mazen but like I've known you for even longer. They've known Craig. Yeah you cry. Go Go Whitewater rafting. That's true every so often it's true we just talk about. I encounter kayaks. You the Whitewater rafting music all right coming up. Next is the live show that we did in Hollywood a couple of weeks ago. We hope you guys love Briar Patch and we will be back on Monday to talk about non brier patch stuff for the most part. Yeah and and then We're we'RE GONNA do is release these episodes on Thursdays right after the East Coast area of buyer patched again. If you guys are watching what you should be you'll be able to get like an inside inside kind of DVD director's commentary. Right after. And Guess. What else I can say right now? If you liked the first episode of our patch the second episode should be available on demand right now. Are you serious early early. Did you tell me that no. Is this breaking news breaking news on Mike. Are you allowed to do that. I don't know let's see I'm off the chain now off the tiger extreme all good luck I hope you like the show. Today's episode.

"Once I just stop by and say hello is now golfing the weather couldn't be any better idea awesome as far as. sorry let me get that here online when I I I guess he's gonna be jovial caller we love that ad you're calling mark plays are so damn boots fill in and they we got for me brother. I know you from Gary down there Frank street okay glutamic Babbitt very handsome man yeah. yeah all yeah I met my wife we just had our third anniversary twenty seven I met my wife in the yard sale the oil will go. we buy and some trinkets and then how much she was more a quarter I bet. well actually I went there to bid the rough and she was there and I end up by the ascent tires there all this is Eddie Brian Brian's body any from social social order. now what do you have a drawstring. Ford truck right that okay okay. yeah Gerry Gerry's good people hi Taylor Gary's one of the nicest people on the player there's two people I will always argue with anybody they're nice people on the planet the call from research and Gerry horn in the gear head were being a mostly cars but those two people are the sweetest nicest individuals you'd ever meet I mean Gary's a straight up guys so what I was a good childhood growing that young man so what's going on what else you got for me. as for the gun laws okay don't enforce all the ones I've got on the books now and they want more yeah yeah yeah to take more rights away yeah and I've got a I've got another question for you that very off topic. our god one Ford van. that's over heating I mean it what you started up it won't stop till it breaks new new well water prompt new radiator. yeah the hoses are good right what kind of what I shouldn't do the car so what I'll do this once did you get did this but so what what kind of car is okay a truck is. the import ban hasta after so he checked that they're known to clog the how can I think I would even car mode right now heater core have you had here have you have flushed by a professional store shop he got to get it fast what happens is of the heater core gets all gummed up and then it moves into the block you have no circulation going on have you replaced all those parts you got something else going on if your oil isn't. adding the radiator fluid inside the oil you definitely have some delegates throughout the. yeah you need to get a massage. get a flush that should help yeah brother. well there you go I can't do car shows some of the tax code go to Mike online six Mike wake up for me. yeah hopefully back on topic. yeah well that two things I want to cover first as the father hurricane I mean I I've been watching this thing since Friday I can't stop watching it and I'm watching in many many hours course I look at highest university athletic department as as you know it's just a as an archer. but yeah I had to get a question. extremely early on Saturday morning to get there in the end greatly it diverted me for about twelve hours but soon as I got home on Saturday afternoon I couldn't stop watching it again. watch misting continuously and the people in Freeport my god I mean age I just can't believe it I mean. report anymore and secondly you know I worked for many years as a research analyst for the department of corrections in okay what I've researched there are good and there are bad on both sides. do you I've heard about you know the fires at Denver's presence and what not and prisoners have been left behind and it's just it's just a girl testing is it okay right. but so so my my my question to you would be if you were in that and you saw some bad criminals and some people that were just you know in the wrong place at the wrong time I understand or some innocent people in jail and I would say it's probably eighty twenty ever ninety ten I don't know what the. I want more like ninety five it's not inside the flight so your say most the guys and girls in their deserve to be there. even that drug people I mean most of the time those very bad drug people their cases are broken down into possession and distribution and selling and all kinds of other things including our you know air gun possession right I mean I should because I research my god it was it was my my. so but I mean but wouldn't be if nine hundred prisoners and I know everyone usually has about the price but shouldn't we evacuate men women and children first. it would be it ever play please a priority right now and you know they're well depends on location location is important in these are situations and and who who and where can you exact weight and hall what kind of vehicles you have to evacuate you were located to assist in the evacuation and sometimes it is in the core areas is we they are here's a city central city areas have the most are kinda evacuation situations available to our different model there and so once other people have been evacuated they start getting into those what people who are incarcerated or under duress floor by the advertisement now with Michael me ask you this so so I I think about prisoners okay and I think about the bad bad people when I think about the shooter now passed so they they've it they I wish they would a shot and killed the guy but he was able to just get apprehended but that guy is gonna be on death row for twenty five years if they even to pull the Trypanosoma surround but. they have a Roger shorter time span yeah. are getting the the people I'm just to go to the Supreme Court yeah I don't understand because of a friend of mine that I grew up with that it was on death row they finally executed him about four years ago and I grew up with the money I made it and I don't understand why he did the crime back in eighty eight or eighty nine he was a hundred percent guilty but for twenty plus years he was on death row before they finally executed in you being on the job that you retired from sounds like do you believe that our government has screwed up not executing like I think the el Paso guy should be taken out the town center in Hong in front of everyone because I believe in the old holy mackerel fi go take a gun and kill a bunch of people on we'll get hung in front of everybody you okay with that of that me bad saying. yeah I would love to century hold things up quite a bit okay in their state as well as a state. but that Texas has its very rapid state process for getting to the courts and then the day it may get into the year of the feds and some may cancel things up because there is a very strong contingent of people in this country and that can find every possible means to so things up because you don't want to do I one more question before I let you go do you think did you when you heard the governor say that we better find a better humane way to to execute these guys did you roll your eyes because I did there should be I I think that if you kill someone's family member that family should be able to hook you up in a chair flip the switch exactly right. well I think that has a vibe the governors she is pretty much of settling hopefully selling on just a overdose effect now that would be fine there's plenty of in town we could probably I guarantee were seizing it daily here in Columbus Ohio because I wrote with the fire department a few weeks ago and I can tell you this they save some of the guys to three times a month and what the drug addicts do is they shoot up even more more more because they know they'll save them with an arc pens so anyway I'm not I'm not heartless but I am women and children first that's probably a bad statement under today's who's who and who's what what year make a model your but I don't care that's who I am but the I'm damn boots I'm filling in for mark blazer on news radio six ten TV. the market place or show tomorrow with three hope you're having a fantastic low. Labor Day weekend. I have a hottest toys for.

"This big letters hunt by sound like three or four sites that are lined. It was it was as though they they have to start shooting within twenty minutes. It was clumsy exposition brainstorm like what should we put whiteboard because the plank is very much like a video game. But you see that a lot in video there's like exposition happening. But then they can't like get that higher resolution. So everything has to be written big big. And just like dab was the best. You could come up with like remove it remove put some newspaper clippings smart. We'll get to figure it out the audience that you're out. Now, I'm still. Waiting for the Stanley Tucci version of to come out because there's a movement has been in the can for a while. That's got the exact same premise, and I don't know where it is. John are Leo Nettie, generally, Eddie, Brian. Oh, John Laura are Leo Nettie. He is responsible for Annabel Audrain these cinematographer and insidious he's cinematographer director, mortal Kombat, oh, look for the silence to be confused with that snooze fest that Scorsese made a couple years ago. He can only like if you're religious the silence upcoming film. Did you like silence, of course, is silence. You know, I think you assigned to me and then took it back. Did did you take it back or something to Anderson? But I think I ended up. Hapless? I already saw it didn't. I watched it before it came out. I think I got that didn't decided them but silence. I still hold the opinion that you gotta have religion in your life to appreciate silence. Scorsese? Passion of the priest moody December twenty seventeen global road entertainment, wired, US distribution rights to the film. So maybe we'll see it when when did that happen? December seven into Cam for a long time. Principal. At one point. It had a release date of Tober. I think November says principal photography began its timber twenty seventeen. Oh, yes. Okay. Doing math wrong. I think you're right. I think they're hoping that Christine skis version, or who knows who came up with the I kind of like a movie about to talk about later and venom like berry, similar, but I think that the studio that made the silence was hoping that Christine ski is an actor. He doesn't what he's doing. It was going to bomb and what did well. All right number four for me. For reels. I'm not gonna spend too much time on it. Because I expected to be higher on your list Anderson, but I very much enjoyed won't. You be my neighbor won't you be my neighbor. What does that documentary came out this year by Morgan Neville, you may know from twenty feet from stardom about Fred Rogers? He did mister Rogers neighborhood here. She wearing t shirt right now that would leave me believe you've heard of this show. What is that? No Oscar nominations, probably the most notable snub Anderson at one best documentary of both the PGA awards and the national board of review named at the best documentary of the year. Won't you be launch about nine never around tomatoes is quite excellent. I'm sure we'll talk about it more later. I wonder if the the the academy is like that might be the whitest movie produced last year, we should probably steer clear. I think maybe a little doubt. I theorized more had to do with the fact that it had some commercial success. And that's a big no now if you're a documentary if you're nominated for an Oscar. "Guy Gordon and dick Hafner once again live from the nation's golden tower. Here's guy and dick. Well, the house and Senate has been clear that it will be blue in the house red in the Senate that will continue a divided legislative chambers in house. We are now seeing yet again another tiny start. Let's start with seven because I think it's instructive Trump won that district by seventeen points right now. Tim Walberg is only leading by five he won by fifteen two years ago. That tells you about the shift it is to some degree about Trump. You can't run away from it. And I don't ready Richard Ville wanted to say, well, he he thinks it's on the candidates themselves. Tim Walberg a proven candidate. He's having trouble. Mike Bishop proven candidate. He is now deadlocked with Elissa slot. In eight and dick that was one that we thought was trending in the right direction for the Republicans. And now it could end up being a long night for those folks. Yeah, I won't be so long because they've got only about ten percent left of the vote to count. So Bishop has a less than two thousand vote margin there with what let's see eighty five percent. Eighty eight percent of the vote counted? So yeah, this this could go right down to the last few free six on Sunday. The cook political report took the sixth district, which is Fred Upton seat longtime congressman of big leadership position once upon a time in house, energy and commerce and moved it from solid Republican to lean Republican. I didn't think much of it at the time because this close to the race. You wouldn't think there'd be that big a shift? Fred Upton the fight of his life right now with the only a less than two thousand votes separating and guys he's he's a moderate Republican. You would expect him to have even some some. Independent maybe even some conservative democrat votes in that district. Wouldn't you Bill and guy? Yeah, he's enjoyed that over the years. But again, the district is changing Kalamazoo has become so much more democratic than it ever has been before. I think that was a factor in you heard Debbie Dingle talk about the money in that district. It didn't come close to the money spent in the eighth year in Oakland County, but it was still a lot of money three to one Mike Bishop was outspent three to one. Let's talk about the supreme court race to let's go. Well, let's get a quick update on that Maria standing by we want to check in with her to Marie we're seeing we're seeing things tightening up all over here. And maybe more Democrats could find themselves in the win column than we expected. And you know, what it is bene- big night here at the headquarters, of course, on the stage. Just a few minutes ago was deputy stabber. Now, she brought out our family and supporters. They had a big speech for her and. There were there were still quite a few people here. So there was a lot of big warm reception for her and onstage with her where Gary Peters, Carl Levin. Sander Levin, eleven brothers came out to support her as well, you know, Andy Levin, also came out previously to do his speech. And he's said something interesting. We all know that the real thing is the tomorrow the race for twenty twenty begins for the White House, and it's very evident here that that's what everyone has on their mind because Andy Levin said we are in twenty twenty. We are going to send Trump back to Maryland for good. So, you know, if these Democrats here tonight have that on their mind. Well, they're energized. They have they've had a great night. No question about it. And I don't know if you saw the Michael Bloomberg spot that aired over the weekend that was that was the first presidential spot of the twenty twenty campaign, in my opinion. When I saw it. I thought the same thing when I saw and again setting the table for twenty twenty that is what's happened here tonight. That's at least what these Democrats think happened here tonight and believe me they're going to start working on it tomorrow. And again, I I said it earlier I've been to a lot of these nights. You know, a lot of these election nights at headquarters, whether it be Republican or democrat, and I've never seen a younger crowd here. So that's telling for us as a society as and I think maybe it is a good sign. Hopefully can up in Lansing saw a lot of young people there too. No, no question. Marie the question and the hard thing for Democrats going forward is you're going to be full of a little bit of hubris. We know that those that have stepped forward Kamala Harris, Cory Booker. They fall into the Bernie Sanders campaign the progressive camp. And there is a question about whether America is ready for the social Democrats for the socialist, Democrats, those that would wear that labor and just how far left they can push it and still win or whether you go with a proven commodity like Joe Biden, it's it's going to be an interesting decision that they have to make and at Bernie Sanders share cranked out the crowds during the run up to the last election. So, you know, I don't know. I think a lot of people would argue that maybe the country is ready for that. We shall see. It's all interesting. It is very interesting, and they're they're faced with a conundrum on how far to push. That envelop Marie. Thanks so much for your reporting this evening. Always appreciate it. Great fun is always. And let's talk about that supreme court race because we're seeing a major shift. Interesting close to fifty three percent of the precincts reporting. And we have Elizabeth Clement in first place right now for a while it was Curtis wilder second. But now Megan Cavanagh has jumped in front of wilder and the difference in votes between Curtis wilder and Megan Cavanagh is just over twenty five thousand votes. Now, we still have quite a few precincts that have not reported. But I know dick has been watching the supreme court race pretty closely. This is pretty interesting watching the numbers, and as Bill Ballenger knows very well, as you all know the name Cavanaugh carries a lot of weight in judicial races wherever they are in Michigan. Yeah. Not quite like Hathaway, but pretty close you. Remember, it Kavanagh's versus a has. It's like the hatfields versus coys, Eddie. Brian's in Oakland County. Yeah. Bill, you're interested in this. This is a big deal. The important thing is the court is controlled by Republicans five to two going into the election. Both of the seats up. This year are held by Republicans. If Megan Cavanagh sneaks in the second place instead of Curtis wilder one of the incumbent Republicans the court is going to be four three. And Elizabeth Clemente has already cast a couple of interesting decisions in votes, late spring and early summer that infuriated many people the Republican party. And there are a lot of issues coming up in the future that make anybody watching the court wonder where is this court going now, it's no longer the court that it's been for the last twenty years, you could almost say it's a different kind of court perhaps and the decisions it's going to make maybe much different. We've got reapportionment. We've got a lot of other things coming up. So is really essential. This is one of the biggest races of the night. And it's completely being overlooked by everybody is Elizabeth Clement. The new Betty Weaver maverick on the court. Well, as far as the rollout of Republican activists are concerned. Yes. She is. I think that's too early to say, but there are a lot of questions to be answered. And of course, the races and over only half the votes have been counted and Thomas Bill Ballenger, dick Hafner, Kenny Rogowski. Anne, Marie Osborne. Thank you so much for great reporting. Great insights, great analysis throughout the evening..

dick Hafner Marie Osborne Megan Cavanagh Trump Mike Bishop Curtis wilder Fred Upton Andy Levin Bill Ballenger Tim Walberg Elizabeth Clement Oakland County Bernie Sanders Senate twenty twenty Sander Levin Richard Ville Guy Gordon Thomas Bill Ballenger

"Okay. So Kelly hangs up on me and five minutes hangs up on me again. This is a true story. I finally get back to Kelly again, try again, see Kelly. Here's my name any Hebron. Just look me up. You'll see at least I'm kinda legitimate, right? Yeah. So he does that he says what do you want? I said I'll tell you what I want Kelly. If I can just have fifteen minutes of your time. That's only one fifteen minutes of your time to talk to me. And I'll tell you what I'm planning now Kelly lives in Las Vegas. You know, I live in Los Angeles. So I fly personally, Jim I'm like boring. I could see him so nervous. Just keep I keep talking. You know, I'm into it. You've got me hooked on the story. So no, I'm quite because I'm listening. You just shut me down. If it's got like running the mouth. Absolutely, not man. I'm so into this right now, you got me hooked, so okay. So I- Kelly agrees. He says, okay. I'll meet you. You gotta come out here to Vegas, and I said, great, I'll meet you. So he tells me to meet him at this little greasy spoon diner of his heats breakfast at right? So. In my plan in my head. I had a plan. My rocket was going to be called the evil spirits that was in my head. It was going to be that no matter what. Now legally legally, I could call it the evil spirit with an eye easy. I l evil spirit I could call it that it would suck and it would look bad on because it's total misspelling. But I could do that legally. However, I could not spell it evil the way evil spell E L. I could not smell that legally. I would be sued and shut down Kelly's the guy that was should they're very protective of the brand. Okay. So I knew this going into the meeting with Kelly. I could spell it with an I could not spell it with any. So what I did was I gambled. Again, I flew out with a paper bag to Vegas with ten thousand dollars in cash hundred dollar bills in a back. I met Kelly at the. At the diner agree spill. And I had a Little Brown paper bag with me. And I said, you know, I really brief Kelly. My name's Eddie, Brian. You obviously do the homework. I mean, I want to tempt this. I wanna call my rocket the evil spirit. And kinda let me go. Okay. I said I want to call it evil spirit with the proper spelling E L spirit, and here is ten thousand dollars to get your permission to let me spell it that way. Now my job. I didn't have even the land yet at this point. Kelly kinda looked at me. He looked at the money sitting in front of them. 'cause I pushed it ten thousand dollars in from on the table. He goes what you wanna buy any. What are we playing fucking jeopardy? Yes. I wanna buy any for ten grand. He looked down to money grabbed it. So you just bought yourself any kid, and then we signed a napkin to give me permission home. I rocket the evil spirit. But that and that's a true, you can ask telling evil he says, I I don't know if we sit out on your radio, but he says, well, you wanna buy a frigging, but he didn't say friggin. And but again that showed Kelly knievel something that I meant what I said about at least trying so you know, that kind of opened the door with him. And you know, and I understand because telling knievel knievel have heard everything from everybody. I mean, everybody said they were gonna there's a reason this ten you had not been crossed in forty two years 'cause everybody talked a great game. But nobody really did anything. Yeah. Everybody was Kantian. Oh, go ahead. I just said everything was looking for the cash in on the knievel name, and like you said earlier fame, and Notch. you know. You know, it was like a quick buck. Everybody. Absolutely. And I saw that abundantly clear once I got going, and then what I call the Glomma. There's a lot of people tried to glomming onto me once they saw it was actually really going to try this. That's a whole nother episode. Yeah. But but okay. So so early on I had the support of Scott true acts who's the lineage builder of you know, the rocket and all of that..

"And he watched it all I mean, he had evil can rocket in his garage uncle is that as a kid, but I team that was Scott and Scott had all the plans from his father. He also had spare parts from his father. So what he didn't have was the person that would, you know, pull it all together financially or technically or anything else to to you know, he he always wanted to do that to clear his father's name. So I was. Very fortunate to team up with Mr. true, and and his attitude and his heart just a sweetheart of a guy. I mean, anyway, so we teamed up together. The next thing was getting the blessings of the knievel thing. Right. 'cause I could not do this thing if I did not have their blessing. If if I did it on my own I would consider myself, no better than a really, bad Elvis impersonator. You know, so I had to have the blessings of the knievel's and that was not an easy task itself. I called Kelly knievel who is Elvis. I mean, eagles eldest son Kelly, and he hung up on me. And the first five minutes. I just cold called him. I say Kelly Neal. My name is Eddie Brian. I'm Russell something. Man. I want to try and you know, do the canyon. I hear this. Yeah. Right. And her hung up on me. I'm like crap that didn't go so well, so and by the way, Kelly, and I are very good friends. Now, I love kelp. He's a crowd. He's much like his father. I guess, but I love to get it death. So once I had stopped true. Tell me Tim evil name behind me. Then it was just put all the pieces in place, dwell hard work the homework. Much like a feature film when we do action sequences. You know, we plan all those things out we do everything..

"I mean, this some of these stunts are just that you've been a part of in these productions. I mean, it's I don't want to call it. You know what I mean? It's just it's a list of some of the biggest movies. I can remember. Well, I have been very very blessed fortunate and lucky I've always said I'd rather be lucky than good any day of the week. I've found it a career on it because you can learn to be good. You cannot learn to be lucky, and I've been very lucky, and and I have been fortunate to be on some of the biggest action films quite proud of. I mean, it's you know, I was involved in all three of the Jackie Chan rush hour movie says a stunt coordinator. And I did a lot of stuff in them. And you know, that to me going to work it's pretty cool working with Mr. Jackie Chan, it's like, yeah. In my world. That's like when you reach the top the Super Bowl of filmmaking in Jackie Chan does a lot of his own stunts. Correct. Oh, gee, he's more talented than some of the stuff guys. Jackie was raised in the circus. And he's got the heart of gold and got the heart of a. Yeah. He got the heart of a stuntman. Jackie gets in there with the best of them. Well, I mean, take me through the the evolution of this. Because like you said you've accomplished a lot in your stunt career. I mean, just looking at like I said the films that you've been involved in. And I know, you know, watching your movie stunt, man, you know, they said you you got recognition early on in in the stunned industry. I mean, it's all about recognition. But you're always pushing the envelope. And you are always trying to not top everybody else. But top yourself, right? Well, Jim he you have to take it back to the year. I was seventeen years old stunt men. Most people didn't know what stunt men did that was before the internet that was before the behind the scenes that was before even cable TV. So they didn't have specials on Stutman. Most people didn't know what they did. So it was a very close knit community. And most of those guys not all but most were Cowboys, you know, and if you know anything about Cowboys there a rough bunch now, and they don't they don't be us a lot. It's what you do not what you say. So as a seventeen year old kid coming up into this at that time, you were refer to as pecker neck, you had to go through pecker neck tech before they ever gave you a shot in the NFL. In other words, you better be really tough. And you better really do what you say you're going to do because you're not gonna get another chance with these guys. And what I learned. If you did what you said you were going to listen pay attention. And you were humble they give you another shot. And every time they gave you a shot. If you did the right things at the right time. And what you said they give you another shot. So after a while you get a reputation of doing what you say you could do and you'd be dependable. And at that point. I remember one day. I don't remember the exact day, but one of the older cowboy stuntman too and said, you know, he said Eddie, Brian, you're in the NFL now here out of pecker, neck tech, you graduate, and you know, they'd give you more and more stunts. So it was more about impressing these tough Cowboys than it was trying to top. You know, you didn't want to be the best of the furthest. You just wanted to be your job and let these guys know that you had a lot of heart back, then heart mattered a lot. As you built that reputation. They give you more and more things. Yeah. Well, I guess pretty much that simple. Yeah. You wanted to call back. You wanted to keep getting the work. And so you had you had to do, you know, you had to put in the work to get the work, right? And it wasn't always doing the greatest stunt in world. Sometimes it was just about diving into the mud and not being you know, what I'm saying. It was a lot of dirty work as well..
