"You translate them into a different role that they always said that the perfect example of that was Howard Cosell variety of showed even remember this sexual weird story behind you know, what it was called Saturday Night Live. You could Google this is ninety five million stories written about it. Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell came on the air several weeks before the Saturday Night Live on NBC. The NBC program was not originally called Saturday Night Live. What is called Saturday night? But the NBC program always started live from New York. It's Saturday night. The audience started calling it Saturday Night Live in fact, Saturday Night Live was over on ABC with Howard Cosell Cosell's show bombed. He was completely. He was trying to be like, Ed Sullivan. In fact, he did it in the Ed Sullivan theater that Letterman later moved into it was like a variety show where you didn't use one act after another after another after another it just didn't work. It was a right. What we expect the way that we expect expected to see Howard Cosell was not bad, and they put him in there, and it just it didn't fit. It was off pudding. But yeah, that's the background of how Saturday Night Live got its name, but was originally called Saturday night. And there was another show called Saturday night. Live running at the same time on ABC. But because they introduce the show with that tagline live from New York, it's Saturday night, the audience just started calling it Saturday Night Live, and then the show with Cosell got cancelled NBC, just said, okay. Everybody's calling our show that we're going to. Do that. So where do you think they in Kelly's gonna end up next? Well, I didn't. Okay. I said next. Podcasting. What what what will? She next be on television. Paul said, it won't be FOX. I don't rule it out. You can these these bridges are often these bridges can often be built back. The only other one I would think of would be something like HBO, you know, their Bill Maher and something like that somewhere where she is given the freedom to do hard hitting news interviews, but FOX was her ideal spot, and she screwed it up for herself at as I said, I think she just she never fully understood that she would not be able to succeed you can't succeed unless you're going to become a career unless she was going to make herself into remake yourself into joy Behar, which she isn't you work at a succeed. Look, look, what's doing daytime television. Allen. It's joy, look what it is. Pulse. They should put her on the view. She she'd the. Somebody would walk out a day after she got there. Plus she'd look ridiculous on their heavy no wimp out and take the crap of those old battleaxes. Like, I said making Kelly's that even conservative. She just offers some things that are liberal. That you read our whole stupid thing with the with with the black face saying, we can't talk about these issues anymore. Whereas going too far racist. Yes. Ted Danson it Whoopi. In fact, you mentioned we what be Goldberger Ted Danson actually did black face. And they did it a lot more recently. The brick cabinet was ever accused of doing anything. You know, you try to her all the standards of today on the liberals always object. But we take the standards of today and apply it to the things they did in the past. But they do it all the time. They take the standards of today, and they go back at representivity hurl it at someone thirty or forty years later for people who have forgotten. There was some roast of somebody something I think is a roast of Whoopi had Ted Danson. I think it was they were dating did they ever get married? Were never married they dated Ted. The answer was dating Whoopi Goldberg ad he came in and he did this routine. And he was wearing black face said, she defended it. That's the whole thing. How did something that isn't offensive become offensive? Well, we've become more enlightened or we become more repressive as a society. Who knows what the actual Ed series six. "So. You were working with a group of actors now with what you're doing with the monologues. Now. I mean, I've got people I just get I get referrals. And then I work with them. The other thing that I'm doing that is pretty big as this screenplay, which I didn't know how to write a screenplay, and you know, there's a program on a computer called final draft that everybody knows I could not work it. So I wrote my screenplay in pencil in thirteen notebooks by hand. I'm one of those weird. Yeah. And I and then I had to transfer it into final draft. But I I'm old so to think and right in that program, and I'm like, oh, no no too much to ask. I have all these notebooks. And I'm just like a weird old person. But but I like riding my screenplay. It's to the point where you know. It's didn't didn't I give you a magnolia screenplay. Yeah. Okay. In a good screenplay is really short too. Point even magnolia. It's like it moves, you know. So I've been studying I've been reading screenplays and trying to figure out like what seriously. What makes a good movie, you know, and that that was one of my questions for you. You know, what let me tell you. What I think is. A perfect screen. Okay. Okay. And it's a movie that no-one no-one really likes. It's called. I it's it's called the ice harvest. I saw it. Yeah. You did. Okay. Is it really that is a perfect screenplay? I think that that is as you said, it's streamlined. It's it's basic. It's well written. It's got great dialogue. It's got an interesting situation. Interesting complicated situation. They're great twist. It's got a full arc a great beginning middle and end. And it's it's really really really good. And it's but it's one of those movies. There's you know, there's not a thing wasted. What else is another perfect screenplay? What back to the future? It is perfect. Okay. Why do you think it's purchase same reasons? Same reasons, it's everything it sets up is a payoff. There's not one extraneous thing. And that's that's a that's something that is the case with everything that's a magazine. Gail right. Oh Robertson, Marcus. Gayle. They never waste anything everything. You know, everything means something even in used cars, which is crazy comedy. Yeah. At the beginning of the movie Manuel shows Rudy Russo a poll, a polaroid picture and Russo goes, what does this picture of two hundred and fifty cars, I can't do a deal with two hundred fifty cars later in the movie, they need two hundred and fifty cars to take to used car. Lot to make a mile of cars. Yes. So that little moment with the polaroid pays off comes back for the climax so detail that are that are that go all none of them are wasted. No red the red car thing with the guy superstitious that comes to play the last car that they need to be on the lot. He finds out his red a red car a freaks out, and he's not going to drive it. And that becomes like a major moment in the movie in the beginning. It's just funny. It's like always superstitious, and it's a red car. That's just funny, but then it becomes a huge payoff at the so the setup and the payoff is a huge thing. And nobody does it better than to magazine. Get what's the what is the last movie? They've that that they made together. Been awhile. Because his last visit Max's last movie was was was allied. Which was the spy thriller with Brad Pitt. And oh, yeah. I never saw. Nobody did. I liked it. His next movie looks amazing which is it's called welcome Tamara win. And it's what Steve Carell it looks right? Where he's like he's artist has these little dolls that represent him and his life. Yes. And it looks amazing. Why didn't people like ice harvests? Nobody saw it. Herald degrade Harold Rina's direct them. Yeah. But it just I think, it's brilliant. It's it's an unbelievably great movie. And I think it's like one accused ex best performances. I think that's it for him. Yeah. Best. So, but no. And I watch it every Christmas Christmas one of my favorite movies of all time. Quaid Billy Bob Thornton. Billy. Bob is amazed coming Nielsen. Yeah. And it was a shot in the area. They've pathways crazies in it. Oh, that's right. Dave's in it. And it's just great and Harold rain is I just think it's I think it's one of those movies that. So criminally underrated. Glad you I wish we could see the on the big screen was amazing. Yeah. Yeah. We didn't have a huge crowd for that one. Because nobody knew what it was. I'll tell you. What was really amazing? I did a a a summer of Zametica's. So it was it was the meccas fest this past summer. So for my phone, okay? In may I did use cars June. I did back to the future. Okay. You did back to feature twice the second time that was years ago. So I did a used car is back to the future in July did Forrest Gump in August. I did his first movie, which is which is I want to hold your hand, which he and Bob gale road. And it's about these kids who go to New York and try to get into the Ed Sullivan theater, and the hotel rooms of the Beatles. The night that they show up. How do I know about this? Nobody knows about it. And it's brilliant. And it's really really great. And it was his first movie as a director Spielberg executive produced it gale and him wrote. It Nancy, Allen's the lead. In his in it, and it's it's great. And it's really really funny, and nobody knows that movie, and we had a huge crowd for it. I was stunned at how many people came out for it and enjoyed it. And how many people have never seen it? And and so many people have never seen it before. What's coming up? We're watching. What are we watching in November? Oh, yeah. Longest with Bert. And then in December, we're doing Christmas movie. Bert Bill Murray. Scrooge d-. So we're doing Scrooge. I can't give details. I can tell you off the air, but something special is going to happen along with that. Great. So so anyway, now now, you you you have turned the tables on me, how many do you have a lot of questions or I have like three questions. But there, you know, you can you can make as long or short as you want. Let's once again tell everybody how they can get involved with you because you are now creating custom monologues for actors for a monologue. Or if you need something for presentation or help in any way with writing stuff, it's Chen pas worth rights at gmaiLcom, Jenn Bosworth with rights gmaiLcom. The idea is that actors or actresses performers come in you talk to them, you get to know them. And I write them the monologue. It could be one minute to minute three minutes. Whatever you like. And it's a better way to be an artist I'm telling you performer, and then also we mentioned a little bit earlier, Robin. And she does acting don't you? She's an ex is. Yeah. Good friend of mine, and she's coach Ravin on Facebook. And she'll help you with your mind alliance as she's a wonderful actress, and I've had the pleasure of directing her. She a couple of times loves you. Oh, I love her. The feeling is absolutely me. She inches so towns so talents. She's good people people would know her from she's on Chicago men. She's the Cindy Herman entre Kogyo fire. She's the wife of the guy from sex in the city. Yeah. That's how everyone. Last name. Oh, I is in Berg is in stock Eisenberg something for the guy from the guy with the glasses for sex in the city. You know that guy. Okay. Chikashi Robin is her is his wife out of different show. Yeah. So on a different Sean, Chicago fire, right, right? Okay. All right. Jen. Why don't we hang on? Yeah. We'll come out. And then you were going to switch the tables. I don't think we have your sound bite for the breaking news said you'll have to use one of your figure some talk ULA. Oh, you want to? Yeah. You want this guy to be?.

"Show, and guess what I promised you a former governor and by Jimmy I got you one on the line. We have former governor of Arkansas, my friend governor Mike Huckabee governor, Mike Huckabee walk on the program. Well, thank you, Eric. And I know that you scoured the country looking for a more. Let's just say maybe prominent former governor, and none were available and you knew I could do it. I was gonna say I said if all else fails, we know that we've got governor Huckabee waiting in the wings because I tried to get Ella. Grasso of Connecticut. She passed away in the seventies. Very unfortunate impossible to get her. I really I did try hard governor Hugh Carey of New York not available so many former governors, and I thought if worst comes to worst, I know that governor Huckabee friend, he'll come on the show. Now, listen, speaking of shows you've been doing your show your TV show on TBN for one year is that really possible. It doesn't seem that way. It's been the fastest year. My life. The show is so much fun that it's not even like work, but I don't want the folks at TBN to know that they may want me to start paying them to do it. But it's been a great year. We've had some wonderful guest. It's a fun show to watch and people are really enjoying it. It's the number one show on the TV and network and has been almost since its launch. It's just been a great opportunity to give people just in a politics to inform them in a common sense way. But it is intentionally not the kind of show it raises your blood pressure to three hundred over two hundred it is really designed to wholesome fun. A big variety of things we have comedians and music and special features. We we do a feature. Call in case you missed it. We find obscure news stories and kinda tongue-in-cheek look at those stories, and then we have serious news makers. We've had the president on twice. We've got the vice president we twice had Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Of course, you're a world leaders your favorite guests, the author author Martin Luther and attacks. I was gonna say you've you've told me that that you said as much as you like the current president. He can't hold a candle to me in terms of getting an audience excited, you share that with me, and I just want. I knew you wanted me to say that on the air. It's very important. Now, listen, you really have had so many wonderful guests on. And so you really are the number one rated show on TBN, which means I'm just doing the math here that you're crushing cref low dollar. I just want you to know. I approve of that do please don't comment. I don't want you to incriminate yourself with the crouches, but you're crushing cref low dollar, and I want to say my hat. My hat goes off. Let me let me tell you. I love crapload great guy. But crap low is now fifty cents. Rap singer named fifty cents. Well, there's two of them. Now. Eric. I know I dragged into the mud. It's it's terrible. Well, listen, I mean, you've got so many fans across the country, and we're all thrilled. Obviously when when TBN decide to do the show, but look I really was on your show as as some people know, you obviously know, and I was blown away by the theater that that is just like the Ed Sullivan. It's bigger than the Ed Sullivan theater. You could have the rock cats on that stage. Have you thought about that? We're working on them. And if we can't get them and I'm going to put on panty hose, and I'm going to do their routine at Christmas. Oh, we better get back. We have to have it. We better get better. Get an indeed. The other option I told the crudest week had a guest that got ill and couldn't make an asset. Don't worry. I'm going to do a cover of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean and do the moonwalk and they quickly filled a slot. Yeah. I just have to realize that there's a great crew of people, but it real resourceful when moments like that happened that is that is very scary. I can see them scrambling in my mind. Well, let me ask you. When you when when I was on your program. No kidding. I I was amazed at that theatre there. Now, I know I remember talking to Matt crouch, the head of TBN he was going on and on about we've got the state of the art theatre that we're building in Nashville for the Huckabee program in when I saw it. I I really was amazed. It is a huge theater. And I guess it's one of the reasons that you have so many people coming wanting the part of the audience and stuff, but it is beautiful. What part of of Nashville is of interest outside Nashville, isn't it? Just outside of Nashville hendersonville, which was the longtime Johnny cash and many other country stars the Oak Ridge boys and Ricky Skaggs, and so it's really a part of the Nashville area. But you're right about the theater, and I've been to every major talk show theater in America from the tonight show, the old Dave Letterman show. There was any at Sullivan theater. I've been to them all and not just because it's where our show is. But none of those theaters. None of them are sophisticated have the size. The extraordinary capability that we have in this theater, but we can put almost twelve hundred people if we filled about any home, we have a huge audience that comes from all over the country every week you'll be there, but it is a phenomenal setting and what a blessing to be able to have that kind of resource because you know, we can do almost anything we've had acrobats on the stage. The crappies tells you. Something. Happy. That is incredible big enough. I think you could get the June Taylor dancers in there. Like Jackie Gleason used to have. And that would be big enough. We're gonna be right back, folks. We're gonna have a Busby. Berkeley kinda musical in there something we'll be right back. It's Eric Metaxas. Show. Pay Alvin Alvin are you skeptical when.

"But it's listen to over the last episode and if you haven't go back and listen to it, we sort of tell the trajectory of Kevin lemans career here at the show which is kind of unbelievable how you know we hired him. He's back stint. I'm back selling, producer, assistant, and now we all basically were married. We hired her. What about you? We hire Kevin, we promote them and we made him guy Mary. What did you do before this? I started my career in television as page at NBC in New York. It was probably the best job I ever had. I met friends in that job that I'll have for my entire life. It was a great job because I didn't know specifically what I wanted to do in television, and that job allows you to do a bunch of different things and fun fact, I worked in thirty rock thirty Rockefeller plaza at the same time as Ed glavin Andy last nerve. And all three of us were working on different shows. I was working on the David Letterman show. Ed was working on the Donahue show, and Andy was working on the Rosie O'Donnell show, and we were all in the same building at the same time and did not meet until years later, but I was NBC page. I got hired to work on the David Letterman show is a receptionist. I stayed for. Ten years left as a producer, moved to California for a number of years. And then when back to talk shows and was hired to launch the owns generous show, and you introduced us to some of the people, you've introduced us to some of the people from the Letterman show in their brilliant and you got the Letterman show and Dave to allow us to use his theater when we took the Ellen show to New York right years ago, we went to New York and and the good folks at the Letterman show starting with Dave allowed us to use the sullen theater. So Ellen did a couple of shows from the Ed Sullivan theater in New York City. And that was just highlight for me and just Zelter in my brain of doing two shows at the same venue. And for those of you who don't know the Ed Sullivan theater is where the Beatles premiered in the United States where the Rolling Stones premiered where the who premiered some of the greats so subscribed today on apple podcasts or wherever you're listening to us right now. Thank you so much. Listen to Ellen on the go and don't forget watch l.. On weekdays, even more Ellen fund. Don't..

"And if you people in LA still confused, like I've said before, just think how count how many times you've thrown a rock through the wind storefront window of an athlete's foot foot. I can't even fucking talk this week. How many times you burn down your city, how many times you've burned down the LA area. That's how many championships you have. All right. So stop pad and you fucking resume, like all uconn, stew out there, your goddamn. And by the time you type up your resume, you fucking directed the movie. Fuck and phonies who can't even show up to the game on time. All right. Well, we go here where the fuck do we go from here. All right. So how much time did that take up? How much momentum. All right. That was good. Fourteen fuck in minutes. We shut off this overhead. Light may not have fucking piece of shit, plastic foreign bucks a night fucking pricks. Anyways, I am here in New York and I did the Montreal comedy festival this week. That was a big thrill. You know, that's why drank. So fucking much this week. And I just ran to a bunch of comedians. I haven't seen in a long long fucking time. You know, because everybody I know fucking headlines now, so we never get to work together anymore. So. Just drinking and telling stories and just laughing fucking asses off, and I'll tell you too. God damn shame. Nobody filmed it because there's like nine zillion documentaries out there trying to capture the backstage stand up fucking thing, and I don't think they've ever done it and the only way you could ever do it if you'd have to do it like a reality show. Will you keep the cameras rolling. Twenty four, seven, and that way, people gradually forget about them because that's what they have to do. They have to forget that they're on camera. So you actually hear the fuck and stories and the, I don't know if the level you have to go to to make another comedian laugh. This put it this way. This podcast is PG thirteen compared to the shit that we talk about. So anyways, that's what I was doing. I was drinking booze. I was having a great time up there. And I'm fucking wiped out, but I'm I'm actually taping this right now on the eighteenth Sunday the eighteenth and I'm doing the David Letterman program the late show tomorrow night. I got my suit. I gotta get my shoes polished. I got my fuck in cufflinks. Nice, fuck and shirt. And as always I know people are going to send me emails, dude. Why did you wear as why did you dress up. For the greatest fucking, you know, talk show out there. Bill, I don't understand it. Everybody else on the show is dress really nicely. Why did you go on the show and dress really nicely? Why didn't you go out there and dress like you were headlining the funny bone in fuck in Dayton, Ohio. Why did you dress like you were in the Ed Sullivan theater? Do you guys realize you young punks that? That's the fucking same stage where the Beatles came out and broke in the United States. And if you watch them, they were wearing suits, you dumb. Fucks really don't understand that you show up to a toga party. You wear a suit. You can give somebody shit. Then when in Rome cuts, when in Rome. So anyways, this is going to be my fifth appearance and I'm really excited. I got a nice tight set. I am kind of making fun of mothers right out of the gate. So as always, you know, there's always a bit of awkwardness before people realized that I looked like a puppet and I'm harmless, and then I just ride it. Right, right through and. And then what's going to happen after the show? I'm going to have the fucking euphoria that I did it and I served it, and then I'm going to go out and I'm gonna stay out too late. And then my alarm clocks going to go off twenty minutes later, and I'm going to be in the worst fucking move ever. I better have a window seat..
