"Six. The famous comeback by the bears on Monday night football the Dennis Green you want to crown their asses crown their ass game and Kornheiser. Is You know some of his stuff. Seemed like it was written. Maybe four days earlier and he's got it on a padded. He's GonNa read word for word but like there is a place for it because Kornheiser comes in and he's flame throwing he's like the bears haven't had a good quarterback luckily let's just call it like it is and he's not scared to say things. I look at a bill. Simmons I look at a Ryen Russillo at some of these guys who are opinion est but are also diehard fans of the game and say there might be a place for that and then I look at some of the guys who are just really connected like Peter King Article. Every Monday morning that people read around the League people talk to Peter King the worst thought to have Peter King in the booth instead of another ex-player and have guys that just an idea and I agree. I think now if especially there's chance to experiment we're all the wall seem to be being torn down and being broken and I don't work as a sports television EXEC but the Monday night gig like no. I think booger was swing with the mobile work. Whatever but doesn't mean we have to go and just do the standard airs play by play Guy. Here's analyst here's analysts to and let's just go and roll it out like maybe we do take a little risk in. Try someone new and that the I don't know it's it's a very fine line because I agree with you that you want something different. You want some risks now. Espn turn around and say well you know. We tried that with the booger on the crane. But that was stupid. I agree that you can mix things up. Put a third person in the booth and like you said you can do it. Information person like yourself or Peter King or do something opinions Russillo now. Whenever the Monday night football thing gets brought up now because he has a lot of followers on twitter. There's like this big Pat McAfee groundswell and my thing on McAfee is whether he's your cups here not I just. As someone who covers media would be shocked if ESPN ever hide him for Monday night football because ESPN still thinks Monday night. Football's a big deal. The League things Monday night. Football is a big deal. I don't think that higher would get approved. That's just my opinion but I don't know I'd be open to it. I mean at the very least. I like the idea of being outside the box. If it even is outside the box like see I think is a very popular guy and I think he actually gets guests on his show on youtube that I watch like. I don't think he's so disconnected either so I wouldn't be against it and I'm not against anything I look Dan. Orlovsky is a guy who we put on good morning football because he was tweeting. Cool videos of You know here's my analysis of why Carson Wentz good quarterback. I sent them an invite over texts that I want to come on. Good Morning Football. He came on. He knocked it out of the park. Get it wasn't because of me because him. The two of us have remained very good friends. We always talk and I am so proud of Dan for going from the Stigma of union. Play at the highest level. Wash you ran out of the back of the end zone to really tearing that down through good work and good analysis in showing personality to now. He's become so undeniable that if Dan Orlovsky is sitting on the Monday night booth. I don't think there's many people who follow football. Who say what the Hell's he doing up here? I think he has shown through. Just the opportunity that you don't necessarily need to have seven pro bowl six passing championships to have a chance to have an opinion on the game sometimes. It's the students of the game that you want to hear from US right. It's good point I love it. We covered like twelve minutes. And I didn't plan on talking about any of this. I didn't even mention that. You know you're doing good morning football every morning now. You've you're doing doing some Fox. Aaron Krista Show Fox doing Chris and Aaron where it's like they were like. Let's just put this thing together. But we got good gas. Travis Kelsey got Henry Henry Rugs there. Anyway it's the three of US sitting in quarantine for half hour and Chris and Aaron are awesome and then we talk about what happened in the week football. It's like it's such a low maintenance show it is put it on and we talk and it's they're the two of them talked everyone in the NFL too. So this is the time to try this stuff. And I'm happy to be a part of that in good morning football which is still live three hours every morning and I'm so proud of our show and NFL network for not only getting back on air which was a technical nightmare. But now we're Kinda in a groove and even from our respective homes doing the show and Jimmy. I know you watch you tweet at it but I'll put the content. We're putting out every day up against anything because it's hard when there's no sports and I think we're giving some people hope someone to watch and talk about. Oh absolutely absolutely you know. It's funny because I I'm always torn because I'm very lucky that my Guy Howard. Stern is only on three days a week because I can really lock into you guys on Thursday and Fridays. He's not on Monday Tuesday Wednesday like I got a monitor who he has on. But I keep you guys on the TV and it's funny because sometimes if I'm listening to him if he has you know guest. I'm interested in. I look up and either. Kyle's either dancing or your ICU. You're about to fall off your chair laughing sometimes without the sound. I could laugh from your show now what I did want so. I did have a list of topics to get into. Let's so the. Nfl is proceeding here at business. As usual they did the schedule released last week. And I don't want to break down this. You know this team. That's for the experts like you. There's two or three things that stood out to me. The first is I absolutely love what they're doing on Christmas Day. With a four thirty Vikings Saints game like by. Like okay. So maybe it's because I'm Italian. Yep I'm you know we do. The Christmas Eve is a bigger deal in my family than Christmas Day. We do the big fish dinner on Christmas Eve and we're up late and Christmas. Day is a really low key day and by four thirty. I'm ready to be left alone and the couch. Vikings I love. I liked that better than a night. Game Two for thirty. I love that on Christmas Day. Your thoughts on that one. I love it and it's a Friday afternoon. It's really random it's not like they you know traditionally have it's the first Friday afternoon NFL game. I think we've had because going back. I don't think we've ever done it now. I am a huge fan of Saturday football during the month of December. And I felt I got to do a Saturday game last year on the sidelines for Patriots. Bills and week fifteen. I think it was or week. Sixteen and it was awesome. I love the Saturday game. I think your idea game on on Christmas is fantastic and I love the matchup that NFL could have easily said. Here's Jaguars Titans. Or here's Bengals broncos. Two teams haven't made the playoffs. They're like no. We're GONNA take probably one of the best playoff games we've seen In the last twelve months the vikings saints that went down to the wire and overtime in Newark. We're going to run a write back. We're GONNA put the Vikings right back down in the Superdome so I love that idea. I thought it was created from the NFL. Now I I feel like the NFL now. They're at the point where no matter what teams no matter what the match ups are on Thanksgiving. Those Games are going to get a monster rating. No matter what it's just it's part of Americana it's part of life but you cannot possibly get more unsexy matchup than lions. Texans I know to Shawn Watson. Jj Watt but I. I'm sorry that is not one that like you. GotTa make sure your asses in front of the television at twelve thirty on Thanksgiving and that one's a little bit. You could have given me something there did you Miss Mitch. Trubisky versus David Blau less year bears verse. That's what I'm saying you'RE GONNA watch it no matter what they know they got you so that you're GonNa Watch and it's so good like this is honestly while we're in this desert of of football and sports and something to talk about right now in the middle of May in quarantine I would sign up. Run walk go forrest gump and grow a beard and run to Ford Field to see that game right now about i. I know I know but you know. Listen he's still got analyze it as if we're in a normal. They changed the Nike on it last two years. It was Saints Falcons. It's was steelers favored Evans. Yeah that's a good one. That's a great one. Yeah yeah so I think so. They did a good job. Thanksgiving night love Christmas Day. They did a great job altogether like week. One or getting obviously a Thursday night kickoff with mahomes versus Watson which is cool but sign me up for read out of the Gates Brady versus breeze. Zanu yeah I wrote. I said it on twitter and I wrote in the rating for that game's going to be through the and especially if they do that. Game WITH NO FANS IN THE STANDS. That's just going to help the rating because if people are still staying home everyone because what? Brady's first game is a buck brings in the fringe fan. People like you and I were like you said you'll go light yourself on fire right now to go. Watch Light Lions Texans? We're watching no matter. What but the person who's on the fence who's not the die hard. Maybe they will watch Tom. Brady's first Fox we'll get a monster number for that. Game Monster Rating and an eighty points combined probably. Yeah it'll be a shootout. I always like have an opportunity to break down the schedule on. Nfl Network the next few days because of our morning show. But because of this situation the quarantine the off season becomes so fascinating little thoughts. That like I have a follow up with people at the different teams. I'll be like you're spot on so for example when I hear crazy thing but like Sean McVeigh has no kids. Sean McVeigh has a fiance. Sean McVeigh has all the same technological stuff in his house so whereas other coaches are dealing with potentially home schooling and four kids jumping around their laps and dealing with all the same stuff that all of us are dealing with. Who have kids families? Sean McVeigh has nothing. But his film and just complete isolation to study and work on all that stuff like that's an advantage to me right on drew drew brees. No Sean Payton's offense inside and out never has to pick up a playbook to learn you. Know the whole. Tom Brady is learning from a completely new playbook with guys. He's never played with with a coach. Bruce Arians who he's never played for with Byron left which next quarterback from his generation who probably got small to no relationship with going into this thing to me advantage breeze like those little things and I don't gamble. I don't blue fix. I'm just I love like the inner workings of Okay Strategy. How does this affect team young quarterback with a new offensive coordinator? It doesn't that not kill you know. Take take the Redskins Dwayne Haskins. Who struggled last year? Learning an offense now has to go from that to an offensive coordinator Scott Turner. Who's really the? Oc for a team. He's never been with the redskins. Ed Haskins doesn't know him like all. That stuff is so fascinating to me. Everyone says everything's got to be equal in the off season with time. You're with your team and all that stuff like Nano like to the chiefs and the saints are GonNa have a major advantage over teams with new offenses a new players all over the place. I I'm glad you said this because you're allowing me a chance to plug something I did. I I interviewed. Jj Watt last. It's on if you google. Jj Watt Jimmy trainer. Jj WATT ESSAY DOT COM. It'll come up and I asked him. How much pre season he would need to get ready for..

I don't think could buy a new truck let alone new truck. So you're safe. He was just like really weird that I was like asking answering his questions. Honestly Salinas trying to just shoot the shit to shoot the ball. You know as love answered incomplete sentences and it was like most people. This is the conversation like most most people like you got the end somehow ends with a T.. So yeah that's how I find got. You're and now a big area discount on one thing and then they charge twice as much in the other. I heard three different people say though God some Truth Economic Onomic truth to that. Yes I mean there's paying less it just because you're paying you're getting a deal on something doesn't mean you're saving money because you weren't gonNA spend that money unless there was a deal like but I heard a bunch of different people saying that like up guys huddled around the shop VACs. We're like route Meighan. I can go out with over to harbor freight cutoff or even trooper or however fairly routine thought to go with a new or my God it was like I was unbelievable and then I went home to my ailing father. Father has a condition of the thins is blood okay and he looked very pale and I missed the net. Ask going to die. He's like he's like Oh. The Wall to agree agree mistake. "Hi, Ben up there. You are. Hi, ben. How are you? I'm good. So so the right side of history. This really this book kind of came out of the few conversations that you had with some of the members of the intellectual dark web. Did it not? I mean, I it came at the very beginning out of the two thousand sixteen election and just a generalized feeling that everybody hated each other. And you look around you, wait a second. Everybody is living in the most splendid sort of prosperity in the history of mankind. People are living to record ages. People are living in the free society where they're allowed to do pretty much anything wants long. They don't punch somebody else in the face. And yet, we are all really pissed at each other. And so I was started wonder why is it everybody seems? So it happened wire suicide rates going up. Why are we having its opioid epidemic? Why is everybody so unhappy in what should be the happiest son? Just read a headline today. I think it was maybe the Wall Street Journal about the the greatest job market in a century. That's what they're calling this the greatest job market in a century. And you wouldn't know that you'd think we were in the great depression. That's exactly right. And not just that you you would think that we are in the divorce racial time in our history that white supremacy on the one side, and and anger on the other side and everybody just hates each other. And you would believe that we are divided by class in a way that we've never been to fight about one percent against the ninety nine percent. And none of this happens to be true. We happen to live in the most racially equal time in the history of mankind. If you could be born into any time, this would be the time that you would choose. And so the question becomes why are we so angry? And I think that the real reason is because anger still something that we are missing. And that is a true sense of what apple is. And what we need in order to to be happy. We we've sort of redefine happiness. Mean feeling joy at a particular time or whatever are subjected emotions, tell us himself esteem has been mixed up with happiness, but if you look back the ancient you look back to the Judeo Christian system happiness has nothing to do with any of those things happen. It has to do with pursuing moral purpose using reason and that that was always the basis of western civilization. And so I started thinking about maybe the reason that we're so angry at each other is because we've lost what we used to share. We lost. We had in common which was this common adherence to set of values that we used to call western civilized Elliot's. Yeah. We don't need is often misunderstood when he's talking about. You know, God is dead. Everybody's like, oh, he was declaring God is dead. And it's a great thing. No. He's actually saying it's a warning. We've just killed God. Congratulations. We've just killed God sciences raining. However, God is he'll be found someplace else. What are we going to replace him with? And you know, it wasn't too many years later that they found national socialism in Adolf Hitler replace. God. And that's kind of the same thing. Now is we've we've we're destroying God. And everything we we always had Moses. And Jesus as our as our archetypes will there destroyed so who's our type now? Exactly, right. I mean, Judeo Christian values didn't just laid the foundations for our moral system. They also laid the foundation for science. They laid the foundation for the idea the reason matters because if you're scientific materialistic or somebody who believes that all of humanity, we're basically just wandering balls of neat firing neurons wondering through space, then not only is there. No morality. But there's also no such thing. As reason why should we argue with each other? We are just again wandering balls neat. One Renfrew space. Why not use force on one another? What exactly do we share that? Why not why not side up with tribes and go to battle with other drive? And that's what we're we're beginning to see is there's this guy told her filling it with anger. We feel a sense of meaning and sense of belonging getting angry at other groups, whether it's politically or whether it's other groups racially, and it's really ugly. And and it's really a problem is this is this is a fundamental, but frail of what it was that the west built in the first place, but western built on certain principles. It's it's kinda fast. Glenn when you look at this this manifesto from the shooter in New Zealand, and nobody should read it because we don't want to give it any sort of play. The one thing that is clear as he keeps using the term the west, and he keeps using it to mean, white supremacy and on the left what you see is people who define the west in much the same way, they'll say western civilization has to go, and we should be teaching about it. Because all it really is is a system of dominance by people who are more powerful. It's a system of white hierarchy. Is about at all what made the west unique is that it was about the notion of individual rights notion that we are all made in God's image on the one hand and the religious sense. And the notion that we have to use reason to pursue the best outcomes on the other hand, which is which is a Greek notion and the combination of those two notions built America, which I think is is the greatest extradition of western philosophy in the history of mankind. And we're losing that we're losing that. Because we've decided that that God does not adjust. And so there is no actual rationale for believing. There's a higher morality we can serve class morality. However, we want and on the other hand, we believe that reason is no longer useful. Because you can't understand me after all you don't come from the background that I do. And if you don't come from the same background that I do then how can we have a common conversation? So what is the role of the university you address this? What is the role of the university now? And how do we how do we get it back to divert? Thinking, and and reason and logic. I mean, I think the only way to do that is for the American people to actually demand as always the responsibility lies about certainly no question that university used to be the place where people said he'd Greek and Latin and actually learned the ancient in the original language and understood what was the principles of civilization, and they become almost reverse that they they've been taken over by the critical studies genre, which is devoted specifically to the idea that the west is basically just a hierarchy of power that has to be torn out at its roots. This is something that was done by the Frankfurt school done by post structuralist Marxist in the university system, and it's been team as a as a pseudo sophisticated arguments against western civilization, the truth is, of course, that the university still as all of us in the west on that we're still we're still working off the fumes of a gas tank. We emptied ourselves. So I if you think of a western civilizations having these values, and that's the gas in the engine and the. We decide which we want to steer the car right now. The car is empty because we haven't actually refilled back. Yes. We're living off the, but we're pretending that we're moving as our own momentum. So how how how much longer do we have on those fumes? I mean, I see in then. You and I were talking a year ago about how bad things are. They are. They are so rapidly changing. We are we are running toward socialism, we are running towards infanticide. We're running towards our own destruction. Now how much longer do these this car run? Yeah. I'm not sure that it runs too much longer. Absent a real reexamination of why exactly America is Dan Catholic, and that starts with the premise that America's Ed Haskins blesses that'd be that'd seltzer the controversial proposition. But if you really don't believe the west is thick you should Bizet another civilization. You should spend some time there because the west is a pretty incredible place. And the as you say, I I feel like you know, we are running out. I feel like those of us who are conservative. We we need to become better representatives of our who Lhasa, and it can't just be about we want lower taxes, and we want less government intervention. We have to we have to say what what is it in human nature at demand, these things what is it in the system that means that human beings are happier under this because the argument that's being made for socialism right now. He's not in fact in our prosperity. It's not that we're all going to be better off. And we're all going to be more prosperous. Nobody believes that you read the green new deal, and you can see the folks on the left don't believe that what they are actually saying. There's a sense of meaning to be failed in some sort of shared classes, why they're constantly referring to sort of these wartime ethics that we're we're in a war. And because we're in a war, therefore, we should all mobilize, warlike fashion. Well, you can mobilize people that way, but you're mobilizing towards something. That's not going to bring them happiness. The truth is that happiness can only brought by social fabric resting on a common frame of morality. And by the beliefs that individuals can make a difference in the world that we have free will and reason to pursue. And that we are bound to our neighbors not by force and government by voluntary belief that these people are brothers and sisters so Ditore Ville said I looked for the success of America. And I couldn't find it anywhere until I went into its churches and there I saw burning on the pulpits. It was it was the pulpit. It was the priest and the pastors and the and the rabbis and everybody else that that we're speaking these truths that you're not seeing any more. You know, we were we were losing the civil war until about the middle of it. When ABRAHAM LINCOLN said, you know, what we gotta make this about the end of slavery. And we need a day of fast in prayer and humiliation we needed we needed a day of atonement. We didn't lose. I think we only lost one more battle after that day. We lost everything before it and only one battle after you say today we have to. I mean, when when you can't get the Senate to say, we won't kill babies after they're born. When you can't get the Senate we have so withdrawn from from God, there's just there's no protection left. You talk to people and say, hey, we should probably we should probably turn around and say, hey, forgive us for everything that we've done, and can you just can you hear help heal us? Nobody nobody's thinking that way. You can't say that in regular open society. No, we we become a very secular society. And and here's the thing. The argument of the book, isn't that you have to be a religious person. I know you don't believe that he sort of got right? What you do have to do you have to make certain assumptions about human nature that I think are religious in nature, and if you don't make those assumptions, and if you try to rip away the under learning for those in the in the religious belief system, you really hurting everybody else, and you see this for for a lot of folks who live on the coast who still have sort of an air thatt's social fabric created by country clubs or by college or by social groups, and they live very conservative lifestyle in the point to Charles Murray is met at the same time. They're ripping on churches. They're suggesting that you deal. Christian values are bad. What do they think is holding up the value system? That maintains the country in the rest of the country outside of the L A, New York, it really is the to Gail dies. Yeah. It's it's the argument that Ben Franklin made to Thomas Paine. Like, you know, Hugh crew up in the system created by these people, you you you have a liberty because of that, and you're enjoying those fruits that are allowing you to tear it apart. But it's it's a suicidal task that you're on. It's the difference between the French revolution in the American revolution painted coarsely huge fan on the French revolution. And Edmund Burke, of course, is not. And and pains basic argument was that we need to get rid of religion religion is what has stood in the way of human progress. And the berkey and argument is wait a second. It's religion that who stood behind him in progress that doesn't mean that you do Christianity has always been free and wonderful or that it's always been interpreted properly in accordance with freedom..

"We're back covering the most forte job interview of all time. Live twenty nineteen NFL scouting combine. Let's see who Florio lakes. Nick foles is going to waltz, right? Into free agency the Philadelphia Eagles. Here's what happened. We had Howard Rosen on the program yesterday. We played some of it are in the shop. They tried to trade him. They tried to set up the tag and trae they knew it wasn't gonna work. So now, they're they're doing the right thing making it known to the world, they're not going to tag. And if they thought they could've traded him. They would have tagged traded. And also, they don't want a lot the money to the franchise tag or anything like that. Right. Because they are one of the teams that are in kind of dire straits salary cap. If you know, you're not gonna be able to trade him and the franchise tag, he signs it back up. Exactly, right. Okay. So what we're gonna do? Yes, falls is now in the pool, and there are other. These are the best quarterbacks for twenty nine nine who are available free only twenty nine to future. Right, right. So we're gonna we're not flipping a corn. We're gonna rock paper, rock scissors. Rock paper, scissors. Are you going to be able to scissors paper rock? I choose everybody here. It's rock paper scissors listened rock head. Okay, one. We'll get Ron Davis is shoot. I got the first choice for one year. I gotta go. Nick foles we've seen what Nick foles can do we've seen how he can capture. Magic lightning in a bottle. And we've also seen what happens when he was with the Rams I'm willing to take that chance though, because I think we've seen enough of what you need to do to coach Nick foles offense you need. You can't jam him into a tough spot. And look was the Rams it was all due respect. I love Jeff Fisher but Jared Goff. They. Defensively challenge. Rams with Jeff Fisher. Case keenum was a quarterback of the Rams with Jeff Fisher. I'll I'll call that the fluke and I'll say that eagles 2013 eagles 2017 eagles twenty eighteen. I'll find a way to get that out of Nick foles. Give me if it's one year, Nick foles. No brain. Yeah. I get that. That's probably would have been my first pick. Well, I can't believe you went with scissors their damn it. I'm really disappointed. But either way he is he's a proven commodity, and he's been in a lot of big time situations and pay off football in the Super Bowl. I mean, come on outduel the Tom Brady late in the fourth quarter Super Bowl fifty two. So that I mean, that's a pretty good health on the horse as they would say, I just realized why you want with paper because we were talking about rocks. And I thought you were going to do it. Now. I never okay going with Murray. That's going to be the my my pick. I don't care. I don't give a damn that. He's a rookie quarterback. I always had crap. Ways to but Cuyler Murray Murray. Yes for me is the number one quarterback in the draft. And now is not going to change. There is he's electric. He is, you know, I know only a one year starter at Oklahoma. And that's certainly going to be used against me or against him even coming out in the draft process. But I think he's a natural thrower the football. He's a phenomenal like a generational type athlete at the quarterback position. Did I mean really checks every box as far as mechanics in the pocket vision down the field proper decisions going through reads. So it's a new day and age I'm not as scared for these rookie quarterback's anymore. They've gotten so many rats with the camps in seven on seven and high school football. They're throwing it forty five times a game all of that. That's why I'm gonna go caller Murray. And yeah, I'm a big believer in drafting a gone wrong. And right in the Browns should have done it last sheriff Baker Mayfield. I am a firm believer. The way to go. And look I obviously if it was more than one year calories the guy for one year and one year only Eileen falls, you agree, but I have gone with. You Murray would have been my second choice. All right. My next one. This is difficult. It's difficult. Yeah. I'm a case keenum. Gotcha. I think if you put case keenum in the right situation you understand what he can do. Well, understand what he doesn't do. Well, you can get a lot out of a case keenum, and I still remember we'd break down the highlights of of him getting out of the pocket. He'd reset looked down the field. He instinctively knew when the pressure was coming this the year in Minnesota run. Again, find a guy wide open. He really helped fuel that team to go thirteen and three is no small feat. And he had a lot to do with that last year in Denver had his moments. You know, I think the the coaching staff and the different, and they they they have their system, and they try to jam the guy into the system. I'm a firm believer in taking what the guy is. And putting the best system around him. And I think I could make some hay with case keenum with the right system. Yes. A suit his strengths. Yes. Certainly, I I I don't I'm not against you there. I'm not sure if I would have gone, case keenum, totally with this. But yes, everything you said does make sense. I mean, yeah, he's not going to be a franchise superstar quarterback. But again, another guy who we've seen in some big situations. Two years ago with your Minnesota Vikings. He's bad. Tested. He seemed different offensive systems and schemes. So I understand that. It's not a horrible pick by you. Okay. So what's your next pick smart guy? I know my next pick. I'm not sure if I want to go with one of these rookies or another proven commodity, but you know, what I'm going to go with talent. I'm just gonna go with the talent. I'm going with drew lock. Okay. They quarterback from zuri. And I know that might sound crazy out there. But I this drew lock kid is impressive to me. When I watch him on film. He really is. He can really throw the ball. Here's a special arm is what I'm going to say. I mean, it's a Patrick Mahomes. Baker Mayfield ish titled arm. I'm not going to say Patrick Mahomes 'cause that's an another level. That's another stratosphere. That's like Aaron Rodgers John Elway, but still a special arm. What we're saying about homes. It's all accurate is after a year ago. We wouldn't have been saying, no, he gave us the visual evidence of the things we thought he could be now we've seen it and we go. Oh, yes. Okay. But drew lock big quarterbacks. Had a lot of experience playing in the SEC. I hear people talking about oh gosh. You know, they didn't win a lot of big games this year. Well, he was Missouri in the SEC. They're not the greatest coach football team. I've seen they were the lesser talented team on the football field more times than not. So that's why I'm going to go with him. Because I do think he's got enough reps. He's very good in the pocket. Another guy that hey, one knock on this lock guide. I know you, and I are going to talk about him a lot. He can take. He can make a dumb interception or a dumb decision. Maybe once a game. But I think those are things that can be coached out of a player. And when you're on a team like Missouri where you're the lesser team on the field more times than not. And you don't have the defense that's gonna stop and make it a low scoring game. When your offense isn't working you're forced to maybe force the issue at throwing the ball making some. Risky decisions at time. But I really liked you lock. Yeah. And we're going to hear a lot more about him as we get closer and closer to the draft who have his workout at the combine start to maybe wake up to him because it's all been Murray and Haskins suicide extent losses, right? And the the Broncos a team that I thought maybe that that's the direct sharing about going. And maybe they still can maybe it's Joe flacco for a year or two, and then locking lock is one of those out of those three or out of the big three that I'm going to call with Murray Haskins lock lock is the only one that's played more than one year. You know, that's the other thing that's going to be a knock on Haskins and Murray as well. You know, they've only got one year in college football. And I understand that argument. I certainly do reps matter, you know, just being back beneath or underneath the center behind the center and getting a feel for defenses and managing situations that is important. And that's where lock has a little bit of advantage over the other two guys. I got one that's going to blow your mind that you have any baby you've really whiffed because this should have been your second round pick. Yeah. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? Ryan fitzpatrick. Nick for one year one year and one year only gimme ripe, you I've had better know. Oh, yeah. One year. Oh, what he did last? All right. He got benched. Jameis Winston was back. Didn't know what to do with at that point fit for one year of the guy's available. Yes. I got Fitzpatrick. Okay. I almost made him the second round pick. But I played the odds there that you wouldn't take. Well, I yeah. I I wouldn't have picked Ryan Fitzpatrick. So don't worry. Brian Kitts patch? No, I didn't even write him down my short list here. So I yes, yes. I can understand your thought process with the Ryan Fitzpatrick he certainly going to be able to understand any offense. And he gives you some veteran leadership, and he's been in a lot of different situations. But the one thing I'll say about Ryan Ryan Fitzpatrick for being the veteran guy everything you want him to be. He's about as careless with the football is anybody we've seen too. I and I think that sometimes gets like a swiped under the rug because he went to Harvard and he's smart. So we're just not going to talk about the dumb interceptions. He throws all the time. So that's one thing. I would push back there. Okay. Ooh, it's really down to Ed Haskins or a tyrod Taylor to me here this it's one of those two and we forgotten about tyrod. Tyler was on my short list. I want Fitzpatrick over tyrod Taylor. But he was the week one start the Cleveland Browns. He he was the guy and he got injured. And now we just forgotten about I know and he can manage certain situations. Like I look at him as a Jacksonville type of guy. But at the end of the day, again, I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State. I just can't pull the trigger on rookies. Man, going all rookies. Well, I thought I was going to win. The rocks, paper scissors and get Nick foles the start. But yeah, I am rock scissors paper. Shut up. But either way I am going with Dwayne Haskins Dwayne Haskins a big strong quarterback. I mean, he's almost like a Big Ben Rothlisberger back there. A little raw certainly going to have some things mechanically that he needs to correct. But you're talking about another guy with some major pop and his arm and played in some big moments. And I know it's only been one year of college football. But from what I saw from the start of the year last year to the end of the year. It really gave me believe that you know, this kid's only gonna get better. He's just scratching the surface of what he could possibly be early season. Hey, yeah. He was getting used to playing quarterback for Ohio State and and getting used to play in college football. But by the end of the season when they're playing northwestern and the big ten championship game or Washington in the Rose Bowl, Mike, man. He made a lot of big time throws in some tight windows and not a very creative pass friendly offense. And that's why that's why I go there. Do you think both guys go top ten Haskins and Murray, I really I will say this. I think all three are going to go top fifteen. I really do. I wouldn't be shocked. If all three went top ten when all said and done how many first round quarterback coach over under right now. Somebody's gonna creep in thirty. Yeah. I it is is it going to be the big thing will be somebody at thirty to go with the, you know, the the kid from Duke Daniel Jones Jones is at my blanking on his name. Either way the kid from Duke he's in that conversation. You know, doesn't Auburn Steadham? Getting that conversation does a wheel will Greer? I am going to say it's four. But I don't feel comfortable that I can guarantee it'll be the three. I'm just not sure it's gonna take something like you're saying somebody trading up late into the first round. Or maybe a New England takes the kid from Duke. And makes that guy, you know, maybe the heir-apparent to a Tom Brady. That's the thing. There isn't an overabundance of teams looking for starting quarterback right now. But there are plenty of teams that have older guys that need to be thinking about the replacement, and that's where it potentially could be. You know, I'd say three and a half is the over under for quarterbacks in round one at this point. All right. Quick break. One return. A good, buddy. Paul Burmeister is here. We'll wrap up this Thursday edition of pro football talk live from Indianapolis the scouting combine with PFC life continued up very nice..

"Live from the studio. It is former G lot fan across the country on CBS sports network. Purry twain Haskins and forced Nick close as the defensive lineman from Ohio State are all going to be for -ticipant. According to latest reports for the NFL combines the NFL combine will be February twenty six March four now that's interesting because Kyle Murray spring training starts for the as I think February fifteenth now if he doesn't show up for that. Does he four fifty four point six million dollar bonus that be as gave him when they drafted? I believe that is the case. Yes, if he does not report their spring training than that money is gone. And that means he's going to be going to the NFL, and he's going to try to make up that money as a first round pick because he'll get a lot more that route right away. And it's good news Ed Haskins and here both participating as of right now. And the combine because there will give the NFL scouts say a real firsthand. Look as to what they can do, and what kind of people they are what their backgrounds all about whether or not they love football. Or, you know, this is something that, you know, just kind of a passing fad for them. Although I think both kids seem to have the personality that they want to be the man, and especially Haskins, you know, I just feel like he's a kid that just is ready to go. I he just wants to leave Ohio State, and he wants to get into the NFL because that's where he belongs. I feel strongly that he could be perfect for the giants showing grow up here. Shawn springs, basically got him to go down to. I guess school outside of Washington DC and football dairy, ends up going to Ohio State, probably due in large part to Shawn springs, helping him, and you know, kind of directing him towards Ohio State, and Sean is basically said nothing, but great things about the kids. So going into the compound, I think there are high hopes for him. And hopefully, he lives up to what I believe is going to be a high first round pick, and maybe even higher than number six if somebody falls in love with him much like the guys fell in love with Jared Goff. And Carson Wentz. Nobody really knew much about those two guys all of bought that they were going to be first round picks. But who knew that the Rams and the eagles were going to be so nervous about getting a quarterback that they would trade up to the first and second picks in the draft in that draft to go. Get those two guys. Dave Gettleman did not like the quarterbacks enough last year to take one of those guys number two ended up going saquon Barkley, you know, he's coming over all the tape but twain Atkins, but if he does not have a favorable opinion of Dwayne asking if he's not gonna take a at six or trade up to get him. He's not gonna take a quarterback for the sake of taking a quarterback. He told us that marked by words this kid completed seventy percent of his passes through for forty eight hundred yards. Fifty four touchdowns and only eight interceptions his yards per attempt for nine point two. And he sits in the pocket and throws the football from where it's supposed to be thrown from. And it looks like he has all fundamental skill sets that you want in a big quarterback, especially in the northeast and he will run with the ball little bit. There's no question about that. He's a good athlete. I just get the sense from listening to his a lot of his interviews around the bowl games. And all that other stuff that he seems like he really is comfortable and has high expectations for himself to play in the NFL, which is a big part of this thing the way I look at it as the giants. We thought missed a huge opportunity last year by not taking your quarterback. This guy is there for them this year, Wayne Haskins either meaning they have to go up to three or make a deal with the jets are take a bit six thing. You better not let that opportunity slip through your fingers two years in a row, right, especially because you know, the Washington Redskins are going to be looking for a quarterback. The Jaguars are going to be looking for a young quarterback. They're they're blaming. There are a number of teams that I think would try to trade up to go get him that that I do believe that's going to happen. Think somebody's gonna come away from the combine just blown away by him. And also Daniel Jones from Duke actually raised his stock level bit. According to a couple of the scouts that I've spoken to at the senior bowl. So he's another one that's probably going to be a first round quarterback draft pick. And so will it looks like drew lock at a Missouri? Yeah. A lot of people think that those two guys could be on the patriots radar at some point either end of the first round or whatever because they need to now find that quarterback in waiting whatever Tom Brady decides to finally hang it up. Let's go to Colorado on Staten Island. What's happened in Colorado? Hey, what's going on guys? What's up? Now the March I was listening before. And I know you guys are talking about the QB's in the league now running I find it hard to watch. Sometimes especially like, I would tell an out who picked up the phone Lamar Jackson in that wildcard game. I mean, I don't see that running the ball ineffective route to take in in the NFL. It's just not college. Yeah. You know, short short term short term, Colorado. It's okay. Because teams now have to get ready for something that they don't normally see in the run pass option has become such an influential part of the NFL, and it's good. I think I think Lamar Jackson said all the right things after the season was over. He's gotta learn the game. He's gotta learn how to play the game at a pro level, and he's got to do things differently. If he wants to survive. So I think he recognizes that but there's still not going to take the RPO's out of the game. However when you take a look at the two teams that made it to the Super Bowl. They don't run our PEOs. So I will say I would say, yeah. The running quarterbacks it's a little bit of a passing fad? It does happen. There's nothing wrong with like being a Mitchell Trubisky and taking off every now and again, but you can't live like that. Well, Lamar Jackson zig. I think of all the time that Baltimore Ravens now are fully committed to Lamar jazz. Josh Allen, Josh Allens monster arm, though, too. We weren't ever talking about his legs during the combine and leading up to the draft who was all about as big arm, and he ended up that came out of nowhere, essentially how much you ran so. Yeah, he needs to see what Lamar Jackson. He just doesn't have the as they say arm talent, the same type of armed talent that Josh Allen has he has to be running the football in the way that he does. And you see him in sort of compromising situations for Lamar though like any of the young quarterback. Sam darnold included don't come back next year, and they'll be better. Yeah. I mean, but do you see there won't be overwhelmed? They they come in as rookies these guys it's nonstop for the guys right now coming out of college everything right now is football football football football. They're working on their football skills or getting themselves in shape for the combine. They've got to go through a lot of interviews is going to be pro days that they're going to do this going to be individual workouts that they're going to be asked to do. So it is nonstop from now until the end of the season next January. So when you think about that in light of Baker Mayfield Sam darnold, Josh Allen. Josh Rosen and Lamar Jackson those guys played. And there was a lot of pressure on them. And this is the first time that they have ever felt pressure quite like that. So now, it's break time, they're relaxing a little bit. And when they come back not a start for them. They'll feel hell of a lot more comfortable this year than it did last year to catch twenty two with a guy like Lamar Jackson because you want to use him on the ground as much as possible. But you also want him to stay healthy. If you're going to have Lamar Jackson. In the pocket and throw the football time. There's no point of hand. Lamar Jackson on your team, which is gonna be interesting to see what happens with Joe flacco. And also Nick foles guys of that ilk where whether or not teams want to have a stopgap while they draft the young quarterback, and hopefully let him sit. The question is is whether or not the fan base for that particular team that say may draft one of these kids and sign like Nick foles or Joe flacco if the fan base is going to be willing to allow the older player to kind of play through some the ups and downs. Yeah. Or is it going to just be a massive fan pressure to get the guy on the field? I do think though Nick foles brings a little bit more excitement to a fan base. Because it's so recent that he did what he did. I think flacco is a tougher sell on a fan base because he it's been a while now since they wanted and Super Bowl, and he when the when the ravens offense was bad, and he was at the helm. It looked really really bad so foles I could see it fan base getting excited about he's such a good, dude. Not that flacco is in. But it's. I still have. I'm Nick foles. I don't go anywhere. I really he he talked about that. When he came back to Philadelphia at all the stuff that went on. And how he was a preacher somewhere out in Kansas. Or whatever the hell was he was just happy doing what he was doing it. Now, he's sitting on now potentially a money man is true. Downs. Does Carson Wentz even want him back on the Philadelphia roster? That's the other thing you have to ask what what happens if they do bring them back, which they're not going. It doesn't look like they're going to. I don't know what the market is going to be for him. I am I giving Nick foles three years sixty million. No, my give him sixty six million. I mean, my that desperate as a team to get a guy in there. No. I think he gets a case keenum deal is what he gets. That's what he should get six million twenty should get. I don't know if his agents say, well, wait a second. Look, you're a Super Bowl, MVP, whatever. But that's what he should get. It's the type of player is Ronnie in Tom's river, New Jersey. What's happening? Hey, guys. How's everyone doing good, man? What's up? I thought my way I saw your your call GIO in great gold call in that was that was also a really good job. I was really proud. Thank you. Awesome. Thanks. So do you think that both GM's jets and giants you put their differences aside and the giant swap the six the third verse three second round draft picks or do you think? What's his face? And the jets is going to be kind of a nozzle and. What's the name of the jets? Mike mccann. Yeah. So that that's interesting. I know if I'm the judge jam and less there is a game changing player. They're at number three. And when I say game changing an Aaron Donald type player, I think I have to trade out of that spot because I have to recoup some of the picks that I use to get Sam darnold, and this is the best way of doing it, especially if somebody really has their eyes on one of these quarterbacks do the jets and giants have that relationship like the Mets and Yankees do where it's borderline impossible for them to make a deal with one another..

"Home before dinner after dinner now that I'm talking about it. I kind of feeling like a loss about four hours of every day. I didn't realize it was that much. I decided I needed to find alternative. So I started looking and then came up I did both for awhile it eventually I just switched over. And it's very quick. I honestly feel like I remember recently you asking me did you wanna smoke free four we go in. And I was like no no need to Mimi made the switch July twenty fifteen make the switch at jewel dot com. That's J U L dot com. Warning. This product contains nicotine nicotine is an addictive chemical. Roberts here in the mid day. CMB coming up in about forty minutes. John is in Philadelphia age. I'm John how are you? Hey, guys. Joe I cannot believe that you have gotten off of your dislike of Adam gates. I don't like it. But I, but here's the problem, John. There's nothing I can do about it. He's the coach you to team. Okay. But I can do. If it was me McCarthy would've been a coach he's the coach of the team Williams is a very good higher as defensive coordinator. And they could the coaching staff can only be better than it was it was so bad. It's gotta be better. Now is it going to turn out to be? This is the guy that's gonna win the Super Bowl the chances are no. But I mean, what am I supposed to do about it? Now. You know what? I mean, I need you guys do me a favor. This this is where I turned on Adam gates. I'm a dolphin fan. I in port St. Lucie. About eight years ago. But anyway. His last press conference. He made every excuse in the book of why the season went down the tubes except for himself. He took no responsibility. And Joe the first press conference he did when he's condescending. And he doesn't answer questions, and he gives the wild is. You're gonna hate him. Joe you're gonna be sorry. I have no problem. We didn't want the guy. I wanted to do. I screamed about it. The first moment I heard when Evan brought up gazes name. I almost cringed turned out to be right. There's nothing we can do about it. Now. Let's let's update it's been a couple of weeks. Joe did you want the jets to hire? Adam. Are you ecstatic that the jets hired Adam go who did you prefer that? Hi, Mike McCarthy. Okay. So nothing's changed everybody. But it's just what the hell do you want us to scream every day? There's nothing I can do about it. So all I can do now is try to have some kind of a positive attitude. You know, if you ask me, do I think they're going to be looking for another culture for years. Oh, yeah. Okay. You want that answer? Yeah. I do. I hope I'm wrong. I do feel better about Greg Williams being higher that was higher. I really do. I think he's a big time defensive coordinator, the defense will automatically be better. There's no doubt in my mind automatically, they'll be better. So I feel good about that. I would I feel better by I've said this to would I feel better about gays if he had been a coordinator after the Miami job for us. Yes. Because to his point I think he would have learned more from the stakes that he made in Miami. Right. You know, how it feel a lot better about Adam gays if his name was Mike McCarthy, then I feel lot better. So nothing's really changed on this thing. It's just that. When there's a coaching higher or a free agent signing. Eventually think about this do the Yankee analogy for the Yankee fans you don't want. Manny machado. You're listening right now, you say guys to Charlie hustle. I don't want the guy. Now you sign the guy. What are you going to do? Are you going to root for not that we could do? Let's hope gaze turns out to be the guy. I mean, let's hope you never know. Like, I said do I think four years from now they're gonna be looking for new coach? Yeah. History tells me that's what's going to happen. I don't wanna be right. I want to be wrong. I wanna see this guy beat a guy. And I said this to it again, I'm going to go with this too. If they next year goal tended six eleven and five make the playoffs and don't go on and win the Super Bowl. I still don't know because I've seen this over and over again every coach built Wassels is that a winning record is I g with the jets since boss cells that is six coaches seven coaches removed from Parcells so it doesn't mean anything. You know, even if that happened. The jury is still out on Adam gays now is the jury still out on Adam gates if they go five and eleven. Oh. To say, it doesn't work. Both ways is no no mad is calling from waldwick New York, man. How are you? Hey, guys before you get to my Yankee. And baseball point. Joel why thank you five six years ago. I sank the golf ball and it landed on your team boxing. We're very kind to me. Thank you for that. No right now. Valley brook. Okay. Okay. I bet you and your wife a very nice thank you for that. My ball. Box myself. I noticed. Real quick. But I'm a Yankee fan my whole life of thirty four years old. You know, I think that these two guys and Harper overvaluing, I think of a three hundred million dollar player. I think if a guy was putting up four forty two hundred and thirty RBI around baseball, you could find guys you're up, you know, twenty five to thirty five home runs and a hundred and ten hundred and fifteen RBI guys have been doing. Now, you're paying for projections. I get that. But you project that each of these guys are going to put up ten to fifteen more home runs than what they've been doing at twenty more RBI than what they've been doing. I here's what I think you've project with a guy like we'll use Bryce Harper for now. Bryce, Harper's twenty six years old. He's won an MVP if he can match his two best seasons at age twenty two and twenty four then he's one of the top three best players in baseball. So I think it's not projecting. Something that hasn't happened. You're projecting. What you've already seen from him. And hoping he can be more consistent about it over the course of his contract. But if you will think there were three hundred million, and that's fine. If you right who is Mike trout. And who else I don't think there's a list of now does not no it's not a long list of those guys. So it's fine to say they're not worth it. But don't act like there's other guys that all I mean might trout's elite. We get it another guy who's very interesting. Very interesting is this is a hell of a baseball player. And he's going to get the free agency in two years. And he's going to be twenty six is Francisco Lynn door tremendous player for Mendez player. What's he going to get? Because one thing we know about the Indians ain't gonna be able to resign them. So he's going to get two free agency. Probably I guess, right. When he's early twenty seven years old and with the production. He's put up in his career. What is he gonna get is the same thing going to happen to him? When he gets the free agency. We'll see Jason great neck Jason. How are you? Hey, guys, what's going on? I have to disagree about Dwayne Haskins. Just hear me out. How do you expect a job? Thanks to. Celtic fan base that they passed up on Sam darnold with the number two pick to trade up this year to get the Wayne Haskins. I mean, how do you like how can you sit there and tell a giants fan that's where we're going. Well, you know, what I'll say this. And again, we don't know. But wait Haskins had a better year this past year. Sam Donaldson last year at USC. He did. The guy to what he do fifty touchdowns including the ball game. He to fifty touchdown passes checks. Right. They lost one game Ohio State. So he had a better unit. Sam Donald did in college last year. So how do we know that I don't know who might be better quarterback with all said and done. Well, that's the answer. I mean before we even get to the fact that they drafted saquon Barkley. So you've got Barclay Ed Haskins varieties Sam darnold, and whomever. You would've driver is right. That's what you can definitely throw in. How do we know that Sam darnold is going to be better than Dwayne has? I have no clue. And remember the giants view quarterbacks the way they one of you the quarterbacks. Remember, the Cleveland Browns got criticized 'cause they passed on Carson Wentz. They decided to trade the pick up. Yeah. How could they sell their fans? We're not gonna draft Carson Wentz. But we're going to draft that shrimp Laker Mayfield. Well, guess how they're selling yet. Right. Baker Mayfield stayed on the field and his first year think right now if I pulled most football fans and said you got a quarterback to start your take Mayfield. Yeah. Choice which guy Baker Mayfield. You can take Mayfield. Okay. Things changed her. You have no idea Haskins could turn out to be a tremendous could turn out to be better than than Donald. Of course, think about how quickly things changed with Baker Mayfield. He was never projected to be the number one overall pick never have. And think about the way Carson Wentz was anointed right before that injury a little over a year ago. MVP number one seed, I'm start my team with Carson Wentz. And I mean this with respect and because I feel bad he got hurt. But look what that injury is done. How do we view them now, Susie? If I ask giant fan. I pulled everyone of you. Carson Winston Baker Mayfield eighty five percent people can say Baker Mayfield. Is it going to be that? I would say it's going to be high. There's no doubt people are going to say Mayfield because any data. It's not even about selling. Also like you said Mayfield stayed on the field where wenches had multi to us in and road injuries. Hey, we see this with Eli part of his greatness as no question. So I don't think you have to worry about selling your fans, you gotta sell yourself. If you believe Dwayne Haskins is going to be a really good quarterback the next level Trafton. That down and saquon Barkley. That's the other thing you should he did draft him instead of darnold. And then so how do you sell your fans? If you're worried about selling your fans, well, you got saquon Barkley and the quarterback. That's how you sell it, Mike Manhattan, Mike. How are you? Brought to Hawaii of good ole. I'll be I'm guessing. This weekend. Because I live in a complex. They do. They do. Okay. Things all two things one when it's all said and done. Greg Williams is going to be your head coach because he is out of his mind. He's not gonna lessons jets head coach. And I believe Williams is going to be your mill get promoted to head coach that's one. What do you think about that? I don't think anything about it. Because gazes the head coach why why you guy let me say this. Now, I can't believe defending Adam. Happens eleven let's see guy coach let me see what he does with the team. I don't know what he's going to be as a coach in his team. Do I think he's going to be a great coach? I don't. But that doesn't mean he won't be. So let me let me reserve judgment on Adam gays after he's he's coached the team. Let let's say after two years, and let's see where we got is that fair, I think that's very fair. Now, if he goes five and eleven next year, I'll be screaming about it. But if he goes to eleven and five or ten and six and they don't win the Super Bowl the jury still out. Yes. To the bottom line to his credit. I'll I'll defend the caller like five percent. Here's an offset dead this year when you said, I get rid of Todd Bowles Duma favor. One of the defense is not of bowls. But of the situation is they do have a guy on the staff that could take. All right. They clearly have a guy on the staff. No question. If it does come to that for whatever reason they have a guy similar to the mess with Jim Riggleman like they have their guy if they need to make a change in the middle of the season. But I hope that it doesn't come to that. I hope Williams is here running the defect right and not eventually taking over. It turns out to be great. We want. I wanna I want right now. You asked me I want Adam gays to be the guy that leads my teams that is a lucid fifty now and counting US Super bowl. Of course. That's that's the quick whether I liked him or not. I don't want it. It's not about it. It's about winning Super Bowl. That's it. Man, robin. Riverhead, rob, our you. What's up? What's going on? Now here you guys talking about McCarthy. And I know you know, he had won the Super Bowl. He's been successful. My biggest concern with McCarthy exist. Yeah. Aaron Rodgers everybody keeps saying well. You have the best quarterback, and he didn't perform yada, yada. I understand that. But you got to really look at it at the end of the tenure rajini McCartney. Okay. I don't know. I don't want. You know, I don't know what that means. That's where my reservations also the biggest complaint about all that lack of passion for the team. And I feel like we'd be getting the same thing with McCarthy granted his resume. So. A terrible head coach he had no control over his team..
"ed haskins" Discussed on Sports Talk 1050 WTKA
"Do not have. It of magic tuned to know, the only I guess I could point to is just just blatant stubbornness. Maybe. Right. So our way or the highway we're gonna do it. How we do what we have done has worked for ten wins. And we've got Laura's number, and we can do it again. And we're going to continue to do it. And we're going to you know, worry, but Florida had other plans, they didn't you're not gonna believe us. You are not going to believe as you Buddhist. Pretty good for the better part of these last four years. You are not gonna believe this time. You better have a different plan or is going to get bad. They got bad. Yes. Yeah. And I just I just don't understand getting Chris Evans the ball one time in the receiving game. I don't understand going an entire quarter without throwing the ball at Niko Collins. I don't understand Zach gentry bouncing back. Having a good catch over the middle early on in the game shows off his hands Zack gentry getting one more targeted the rest of the game. Nick Eubanks getting one target total an entire game. Like, how do these things happen? Mike. Oh, I don't know. How does it help you? I don't know. Like, I know I have an answer for a lot of different things. But this is ridiculous. I have no idea. How this is even an option. Right. We talked about on the show when I was co hosting right? We talked about how I thought not only I wanted to see the that we as a fan base as people former players we have to see the offense the way we need to see the offense. And it wasn't even close. So I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I'll give Zach because you were there at the game Utah to the players you talk to the coaches afterwards. What was their explanation like was there? What were they were? They look at it and say, hey, we didn't execute today. I mean was there any part of them? It's like, you know, what maybe the game plan wasn't as good as we thought. It was going to be. So I think say was actually an he added more scheme toward neck. Year. But he kind of had some telling quotes, I think I wasn't there for Tariq. He is in the locker room, and apparently he kind of echoed this that you know, in the post Hague's in era. You're going to have to take some chances. It can't be a conservative offense because you've got guys like Niko Collins with this amazing catch radius. You've got someone like down to people's Jones who I mean straight up, you know, can you name five players that are more high potential playmakers in the big ten next year. No. Yeah. So it's it's you know. No. It's just one of those things he has got to get the ball. You know, twenty times a game. Probably you know, maybe we talked about that's kinda high. But if as you said sometimes some of these passes, if they're high efficiency, a run run play, you know, and so. Schaffhausen asked about the offense next year. He he basically listed the three receivers said get them in space. He was like oh. And then, you know, Chris Evans and Christian Turner again not as of right now, they're not belco running backs. They're they're more of your kind kind of dynamic types. I think it's the word that people use. So get them in space spread it out as far as I do think. There was something to be said. I know we talked to Ben Mason. He was kind of beating himself up for those two fullback runs that didn't work, and as you said that kind of didn't necessarily and the game. But it definitely changed the tone. 'cause I think Florida was completely on their heels at that point. So there was a little bit. And I think the offensive lineman had similar thoughts to say like, you know, push a little bit more on third and one run. And maybe maybe then you can open it up because the defense is is on the field longer. But it's the same stuff all had the same exact reaction in conversation last year the outback bowl. It's like, oh, we get to see what this offense can look like with a few extra weeks of preparation. Look the same. Well, fairness in all fairness, I think people were excited. About it. Because Brian Peters was coming back for the outback bowl and in two and a half quarters looked okay. And then the wheels came off. But it's just one of those things it's like in four years we have seen roughly the exact it'll change based on personnel and quarterback, but it's been roughly the exact same game plan. And I think I do wonder if you know Jim is looking at that Michigan Ohio state game thinking, maybe if we'd run it down the middle. Instead of you know, the incompletion or the interception. Team a better chance of winning. It's just it's just a philosophy thing. I think isn't going to change in in two weeks. I think it has to be tire off season. And I think to embarrassing losses. It has to be that. And if it's not that I don't know when it's gonna change which comes back to Devon. Okay. So they've just had to embarrassing losses. The the game planning was stubborn as you said yourself so give I mean does it change. Does it change in the off season? Do we see I mean, shape Patterson mentioned it, but you know, Jim Harbaugh really didn't say anything. Do we see a change today? And we've been talking about getting offensive coordinator, they've got an open position at wide receiver. Now, they might they did elevate the offense analysts, but they haven't officially named him pants and could move on. Like, you tell me as a fan here. How much optimism do you have things are going to change going forward? Well, we just better hope that that guy that just came from Georgia does not become eligible right away at Ohio State asking Lee Ed Haskins lease, and we gotta hope Haskins leads right? If we're going to stay the same way because we're going to beat everybody else. Right. The way we play is good enough to beat everybody else. Right. And we don't know what. Penn State has at quarterback right where they have some explosive got it comes out of nowhere. We don't know. I mean, they they had to play McSorley and a broken foot. So don't so we don't know yet. We don't know. But for the most part, we're going to be able to beat everybody right because everybody either they don't have the athletes their quarterback is an explosive enough or like, Wisconsin, they play the same exact bald we play and we're better at it. Right. But when we get to that game right in the Middle, East games all day games. Always going to be tough. Right. And we also have to play Notre Dame. Right. So now run into season we're going to beat everybody. Michigan state is going to be a toss up. We're probably gonna lose Notre Dame and have state if we stay the same. We can't do it gets that guy from. I mean, he he's allowed to play. I mean, I think he's probably one of the best quarterbacks in the country. Anything he only he didn't even really start for for joy last year. I think he's amazing. Right. And so has got to be tough. We are reminded leasing. And this guy comes right in. It's just like we won't have a chance to do anything unless we in a Rutgers game or Indiana game. We work on our game. Right. We have to work on the things that we aren't quite as good at. And that we haven't maybe not quite as good. But haven't proven to be good at right? Can we see four receivers quite can we not see two tiny as every single time? Right. All right. Can we see four bar seven great receivers on a food at the same time? Right. Can we run a go? And then maybe a hitch to get more quickly and in maybe run a deity. And then maybe to that. Right. Can we see maybe three passes in a row at some point during the season? And not when we are about to lose the game. Right. There's nothing wrong with throwing the ball three times in a row in. There's also nothing wrong. Run the ball three thousand row, but not when you continue to run the ball to no avail, and it's just not it's not working for you. You're interesting. I just can't understand how we can continue to play this way. If because what I say, I mean, I'm not a psychic or anything. But it's true Ohio State is going to be good next year. And if we don't have somebody that can make plays the quarterback position, which maybe I think we do after we have three guys they can. And if they're not used properly with the weapons that we had better, essentially, if we don't change they're going to be wasted three receivers that I think are probably some of the best. He was in ethnic is kind of. Well, we saw at LSU, right? Whereas although Beckham and Jarvis Landry and they want to run the ball the first and second down every single play. What what are you doing? Right. It's it's disappointing is very disappointing. Like, I will give anything to go and play with these three receivers. And not only these are there. They had like three or four others that are very very good. If they were to ever get tired. We'll be perfectly fine. I will give everything that I have except for my fiance. Tinkers on. I don't know if she, you know, she, you know, she chews up seven times or whatever. But I will give anything except for that one and a half things to play with these receivers. And we're just wasting them in nature. They're leaving their way too. Good. No reason for them to come back because we're not getting the ball anyway. And everybody's saying that when we're targeting we make plates every single time with limited opportunity, and that's going to be some NFL sees, and that's gonna be something that they relish an opportunity. Like, hey, these are going to be steals. Aren't we come back we'll finish up with Devin garner? We'll have our staff pick for tonight's game talk a little bit about the Michigan defense in the peach bowl. He's on fire right now. Folks, you want to keep listening? Oh, no. Hi, it's.
