Researchers in Maryland and environmentalists say more work needs to be done to preserve tree canopies in parts of the DC area. There are growing concerns over how land is being used near the Chesapeake Bay. Researchers recently found that five roughly percent of the Chesapeake Bay's watershed is covered by surfaces that prevent water from being absorbed into the ground, such as buildings and pavements. The Chesapeake watershed is made up of parts of the DMV and four other states. The data is from a 2017 2018 study from the Chesapeake Conservancy and others. Advocates worry that with more surfaces that prevent rainwater from slowly entering the Chesapeake Bay, that there will be more negative impacts to the environment. We'll continue on the Maryland side with Big Roads doing pretty well. We have our one incident now. On the Baltimore Washington Parkway are 295 extended.
