Where there isn't the hustle bustle of the emails in the phones own off and everything else. That gets in the way from that connection. And being able to just go in there and like some mornings. You don't even go on. You know you get and. Our breakfast and you're like you just sit in use. Oh, it's like you can't even imagine the panoramic picture. I tried to take a couple of generalities with by phone, but it never does justice honestly label there. My eyes are open to really see you're busy, business, hustle and bustle. You're not anymore. You kind of come awake yet spiritually coming. But I love it I love it sauce so. Two questions. What's what's the one thing that you took away from the AAA one thing that you learned? And the second one is what was the highlight. So, what did you? What was the one thing that you learn like being out in the Wilderness? Maybe or something? And what was the highlight of the trip? Honestly like I, Know Pastor, many people in your automatically spiritualize things, but for me. That was probably more than any other trip. component to and I think it was partly because. I kind of had some I had some scripture in me. Kind of pulled up. And there was a there was a moment we were quite up. To like a sixty kilometer quad And you were in front of me and I was in the back, and I was just kind of running off a few different songs that had in my mind, but I had this moment ride as I think you've stopped turnaround, you're like what are you doing back there? And I said I'm just like. Point scripture number, but I was so overwhelmed by the beauty of God seen in creation. And The Majesty got seen a condition that I can hardly hold it together, and that was a new experience for me, but I came back from that saying. Was the other question the highlight yeah? It might be my mind. Okay, I. Mean Funny Picture, but in my mind you and I are sitting around the fire at night and you have this red. Beard Bushy. You're literally look like a habit. And there is a moment where I think you might have even thrown out a line from the and Lord of the Rings. It's like wow. EPIC moment. You can help. It Feel I. Love this about these moments as you feel like you're stepping into a bigger story. And I'll never forget that. Hang around the fires cold night. So below minus ten. stars are it's. It's getting dark. It's only five o'clock six five. Whatever that was pretty. That was pretty cool. That tells you where I go. I just love those moments that are created on trips like that I think one of the quirky moments for me. was. You you. You slept with your plugs it. was like. Why are you sleep? With? Ear plugs it and he's like. Oh, it's so. I can't hear what's creeping up to the. Cool, so I won't with ear earplugs in. And I'll have my rifle nice. In right here is said that, of course the actor. Kind of marketing to the which yards well I published a book just here back in January, and the target is definitely I first and foremost small towns. "Are you doing today I am doing great so I recently got to experience what it is like to move with my current cat and I haven't moved houses in about eighteen years because I I swore I would never ever move again and so we just got finished doing that and I know that adds a fear free certified professional and a contributor to fear free happy homes which we'll talk about you have some ideas and thoughts that my listeners need to consider if they are considering a move exactly well first of all I wanted to point out that you were describing what moving like this for you you had decided you didn't want to move again because it's so stressful as people to consider move and we're the ones that are constantly making that choice we know that it's something that's going to be better usually and we're looking to maybe downsize or upgrade or whatever but we're making that choice and it still is extremely stressful for us as humans so can you imagine what it's like for our feline friends all said in their world getting turned upside down everything that was familiar becomes on familiar and so a couple he kept one I want to make sure that we try to provide as much the military T. as possible in ways we can do that is make sure we bring those litter boxes they were using at the old house and now it's something like let's start fresh and new get completely new boxes wait a month or so before you do that bring those old boxes that you've been using even if they're a couple years older even a couple months old but they have that familiar odor of the house in the cat so make sure bring that obviously they can be clean they don't have the old litter in it right going on that team kept make sure you can can you did use the same type of litter your cat has been using don't switch brands all if and when I try to keep things as familiar as possible betting that the cat like the land blankets our beds that they have don't wash in before going to the new location you want to bring those old Meltzer's familiar scent with them to help kind of provide some security at least initially same thing with the water bowl the boulder public toward that you're using for in Richmond to feed your cat trying not to introduce anything new they'll be enough new things in the environment that we don't need to complicate it with adjusting things that have been fairly stable in your cat's life so that's kind of the the first that that I would consider there certainly are other speaking things that we would want to put into place such as providing it thank you very for the cat did you find that you were able to do that with your cat you know I think that made a huge difference my cat did really well with this move and I was very worried about it because cats our cats and it is my understanding from my fear free training that one of the most stressful things to a cat is an environment change so I worried and dreaded and tried to do everything that I could possibly do and and I did create a safe place where scamper was limited to one area to kind of get used to that and and put himself into that and feel safe before we expanded that so I think that was all that was a very helpful tip for us yeah definitely safe place earth sanctuary room something that's familiar I do it I front load it too I often with the just the clients that before they move that they get the cat used to maybe being confined in a room with all the necessities because that that day you're moving are moving up to that as well no pun intended on that that they actually may become frightened with the changes they certainly if there's people in the house that moving company people that are moving boxes furniture make sure the cat doesn't get loose to get out safety is always important and they can be comfortable being kind of in a safe room they have all their needs the litter box at feeding station water comfortable spot to perch on toys things that make that cat comfortable that can help with the process as well so that when the actual moving day it's happening that they're not stress in their home environment already before we have to travel in the car in is that when I get enough to help yeah packing was crazy stressful and because of all my work teaching scamper about his carrier and going to the animal hospital with me it is virtually stress free for him to travel or begin is carrier and he likes being at my animal hospital now it took a little bit but so for the day the movers were in and out and they were leaving the doors open and things I just took scampered work that was his safe place while the doors were open I was just afraid he was going to get frightened and run off and then we were trying to move and you know I just was very afraid of that yeah great yes certainly that can be an option to if the cat comfortable in yeah obviously your cat has acclimated to it perfect other options that they're not is actually getting I really like the horizontal cat cages they are you'll see them a lot of times that adoption cat yeah rescue organizations will have an air the multi level cat cages they're taller and have little purchase and I'm so what about me down the bottom and then they can have little bands that they can perch on indicate very expensive they are usually on wheels you can move them if you need to fairly easily and phentermine attack on a different feeling that it will create doors are going to get open the cat could run out that this is another way to keep the cat ate during that transition and then also provides for that miglior eight when you set it up in the new home as well the starting small I am always a little bit on the fence about how the cat gonna handle maybe being put into a state room in a new house you can often that safe room will be where the owner is going to be and so obviously with the new part if they're still people coming and going having them confined to a room that not gonna happen easily escape the house would be important but then I would think it kind of using a space that is occupied by the owners it's going to be important because certainly illness can provide some common safety for the cat and familiarity as well I agree with that we tried to keep the daily routine the time that we need to play time and the time that we do feeding and all of that we tried to change nothing else it was only the environment and I think that really helped it sounds like it was really a great expect for for your major and all the hard work and it's not too hard work right the things that were kind and actually doing maybe with our cat in and interacting with them but maybe a little bit more purposeful after getting ready for the move but that he's not a paid off in the long run with making that a very smooth low stress situation for your cat now not all cats will have that benefit you know **** there are other things that we can do to help create com certainly considering using things like calm in Fairmount or calming music getting them used in the home actually make music her cat one of them is called I com cat or through Katzir very similar they're the same company it just has different branding but that is something that may have a calming effect and if you introduce it in the existing home the familiar location that can kind of transition through the mill other is using Fairmont there call me paramount like feel way that can be used either in the sprayer diffuser and certainly I would probably for the move using a spray like rain on a talent for ten to fifteen minutes before your cat and then kind of bringing that into the new location the diffusers that plug into the wall they take an android four to six hours as being plugged in before they're kind of in needing that chemical early chemical is that fair amount into the environment I had been to college leader all that'd be the best way to explain it it's not really an odor is more chemical message that the cat can understanding produces calming well I actually did use Philo a spray I I do think it helps I know it helped us because things went so well for us but I was worried about scamper scratching on places things being different for him not really knowing so I made sure to spray some of the felis scratcher smear some of the felis scratch on the places that I did want him to scratch I don't know if it helped or not but I I thought it did so those products have been pretty valuable to us I also had the benefit of being a veterinarian so I did take advantage of what I know about pre visit pharmaceuticals and I did manage his anxiety for the first few days with an oral medication that I prescribed for him so I would encourage my listeners that are planning a move or even a home remodel talk to your veterinarian and see if they can contribute as well apple I ever the next on my list actually a thing so nothing if we can't create comic for ever concerned about the cat being really anxious about it yes certainly proactive uses something whether it be a pharmaceutical medication or a nutraceutical there are some really good nutraceuticals out there available to your veterinarian that might be something that it's easier to get into your cat obviously giving cat medication any start can be challenging for many of them so finding found something that would work in it easy can minister is something you can talk to your veterinarian about but there are lots of choices out there and certainly if you're free practitioners are gonna be pretty versed in medications or nutraceuticals that would help decrease fear anxiety and stress in cats well I completely agree and I think that there are lots of resources for cat.
