appointed police commissioner charged that his approach to what he deems minor crimes threatens the safety of officers and the public That's what people are talking about this morning John Now I think that is the big story of the day the big story of the week everybody is as mad as hell and they can't take it anymore because this is ridiculous I mean we want to precinct tranquility I don't know if you guys heard my Thing I put out about public safety and in New York Let's talk Frank Moreno I understand your DA put out an op-ed piece That's right DA Michael McMahon whose Democrat and not considered a conservative by any means wrote an op-ed for the New York Post detailing how unhappy he is with what Manhattan is doing and how Staten Island will not do that They basically he put out an op-ed saying Staten Island's going to continue to fully prosecute crimes on the merits of each case and they will never institute blanket policies which disregard the laws that are set up by the legislature Now on the one hand I'm employing Mike McMahon for saying that but on the other I'm thinking how sad is that that this is news It used to be just expected that all of the DAs would prosecute the law as it is not as they wish it was And that's the real problem with what Alvin brag is doing here is he took an oath to uphold the constitution of the state of New York and he's choosing to essentially disregard a whole series of crimes Well on the tax at night show here today we had governor pataki and he was the governor and governor Paterson and they both said as governors the governors if a DA does not follow the law or doesn't prosecute the law in New York State then the governors have the right to remove them or set them aside or something like that Do you think you can get enough votes to recall them or is it the you pick hope of has the courage to do that I actually don't For starters Bragg won overwhelmingly in the Manhattan democratic primary which huckle needs a lot of votes from Manhattan for her own primary in June 2 Bragg and the two candidates that finished behind him they made no bones about this back in June that this was going to be their agenda You hosted a forum on this subject and Brett and then you did a series of one on one interviews with Bragg and he was very brazen saying look this is what he's going to do and the voters embraced this unfortunately in Manhattan I think it really calls the question Now that's true But you pressed him I went back and listened to him You're old interviews You pressed him on prosecuting gun crimes And you said well look you're going to prosecute crimes right And Bragg tip joed like crazy and said oh we have to see what happens and what the circumstances are I mean to me not somebody that has any interest in putting bad guys in jail This is somebody that has an interest in being known as a progressive prosecutor like the one that's in San Francisco And he wants to let as many people out as possible The fact that he didn't just institute this policy quietly that he did it in a broad memo and made a big splash with this Shows you that he wants to be known for this This is not something he's ashamed of at all He is Roberts What do you say on your end I'm glad you came to me because I'm a lay it out like this When I looked at that ten page manifesto and I looked at what he was actually saying Basically this is what he was saying and I don't have a problem with his approach to governing or defending the law in this state Basically what he was saying unless certain crimes are attached to a felony He's not going to go after him And I'm going to tell you some of those things Things like marijuana He's not going to go after that Uh fair invasion Trespassing Aggravated unlicensed operation Traffic infraction resisting arrest obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and prostitution Those are some of the things that he was like you know what I'm not going really go after that So everybody who's becoming an alarmist about he's going to allow the criminals to take over the city The types of crimes that he's saying he's not going to really prosecute or hit hard unless they're part of a felony Are things that we're relaxed on anyway Nobody really cares about taking out prostitution or marijuana and all that other stuff I read about Nobody's really concerned about that We're concerned about the violet crimes And I still think he's going to be telephoned at I don't think he's going to be solved on that and let violent criminals roam the streets and do whatever they want to He was talking about nonviolent infractions So that's my opinion Well you know one of the examples we gave and maybe Frank can correct me if I'm wrong is if you go into a store take a gun put it to the guy's head and said give me all your money And the police walked in and a rescue which had gone at the guy's head You haven't fired the gun they give you a disappearance ticket Instead of a restaurant no I don't think you're incorrect at all John And to add some merch avius list of crimes there he's essentially not going to be seeking prison terms for people that commit armed robbery unless it's tied to something bigger Now I mean how can you say armed robbery is not a violent crime In my view it certainly is But it shouldn't be oh I think this crime is bad You think this crime is bad This is the law If you want to change the law run for the state legislature and push to amend it But this insidious way of just not prosecuting laws that you don't agree with to me that is historically never been the role of the DA and I'm concerned it sets up a dangerous precedent You Bill Bratton Rudy Giuliani and others have talked about the push that people like George Soros are making to elect DAs all around the country If Bragg is successful with this DBC movement in Manhattan I fear that you might see a whole bunch of brags in 50 states around the country I understand there's 26 of them in the country already and they're all funded by George Soros That's what I heard And it's very sad and I'm.

Well, because he had two parents, a mother and a father there from Haiti that cared. And they were strict. They made him do homework. They wouldn't let him watch TV during the week until or until his homework was done on the weekends. Even they were very, very strict. They wouldn't even let him play sports until the seventh grade because they wanted him to focus on education. Education. That's more important. You're not going to be a basketball player. Stop with those silly dreams. I mean, let's just show the displays them real talent. But he also went to a charter school school choice. You went to a charter school. He wasn't stuck in these horrible public schools, and he had two parents that cared, and he passed the specialized high school test, which these woke stirs These woke supremacists tell you that blacks can't do, which is why they want to get rid of it right and screw the Asians and the Jews and then and whatever. Whatever The point is the school in the blacks as well. But anyway, listen to Larry Elder who's very smart guy on school choice. I support school choice. The number one obstacle to school choice is the teachers union, not teachers. Teachers Union number one thunder of my opponent, Gavin Newsom is a powerful teachers union. So why black and brown parents routinely pulled that lever for the Democratic Party that stops them from the number one path to escaping poverty, which is to at least finish high school is beyond me. I'm going to break this Jedi mind trick stranglehold that Democrats have over black and brown voters, and that's why I believe Obama. A and Bernie Sanders. And Senator Warren and the others have come to California and weighed in on this race when they cannot defend the indefensible record of my opponent, Gavin Newsom. I've got friends who live in California. One texted me just now.
