"I think the most important question you'd ask, is how hot is the player fit into the locker room? Maybe that's using a huge determining factor on if it happens or doesn't happen, too. So just like any thing in this business, there has to be a mutual understanding and to bring those things together. So at the end of the day is the head coach. My focus is on on our current locker room. Translation. I like my locker room. Why would I bring in a guy who just wrecked two other NFL locker rooms all by himself? Then you have this tweet from Ian Rappaport this morning, Quote one note on free agent, Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas. While the Cowboys made some enquiries, they're not expected to be among the teams vying for Thomas's services, sources say. So the Dallas Thomas Love Affair ends here. Tweet. So when you start seeing that cowboys don't want this guy. It makes you think. Makes you think that Earl Thomas might be completely and totally toxic. It also makes you think maybe the Cowboys have changed. Maybe somebody is gotten into the head of Jerry Jones. Maybe Steven Jones is calling the shots completely. Maybe they're evolving. Maybe they're maturing. Maybe they're a different organization. Maybe they'll actually show some restraint, Stick to a plan and lay off that controversial bordering on toxic player whose best years might be behind him. If that's the case, that's pretty impressive. Because I would say people like that normally, don't change. And then here he comes. Jeron an appearance on one of 5.3 the fan in Dallas. And, of course, Gerald was Mohr than happy to talk about role. Thomas. I haven't personally with her. I don't know that any of us anybody has, but that would probably a next step. Okay. Now that's not exactly ruling it out. Is it? That's not exactly ending the so called love affair between the two That's not ruling it out. But that doesn't sound super likely based on that quote, right? But then add warder who is wired and doubt into the Cowboys. Tweets quote. Cowboys owner GM Jerry Jones says the first part of the Earl Thomas decision is to evaluate what they have on their roster. At that position, he said, they've completed that phase and next would be to speak directly with Thomas and his agent. So cowboys remain interested. And then comes the best moment from Jerry. Werder Tweets Jerry Jones says reports Cowboys have decided not to pursue Earl Thomas are erroneous. Adding quote. That guy doesn't know what he's talking about. End quote. Hell, Yes. How about them? Cowboys? They are back in this. Because, of course they're back in this. If you take that at face value, Not only have the Cowboys not ruled it out. They already have a plan for bringing Orel Thomas in and they're working that plan. Phase one is complete. They're moving on to phase two. And he's going to dunk on Rappaport's head for reporting otherwise, with a quote that guy doesn't know what he's talking about unquote. Hell knows, right? I don't know if the Cowboys are really interested in Earl Thomas or not, but I know Jerry Jones is interested in this being a story. Be kidding me. He loves this stuff. This is where the old guy lives. He somehow managed to turn the Dak Prescott contract situation into the longest running soap opera in the NFL. There's no way this guy was going to let Earl Thomas to the Cowboys. And that story die in an hour or a day or two. He was not going to dismiss that and just move on to talking about the 80 Man roster. Come on. Never. This is Jerry's life. Blood. You think he's going to kill a story that started a few hours after Afterward really start to heat up, man. No chance. He loves the Cowboys being in the news. He loves generating headlines more than he loves winning..

"Reminder for you tonight at 11 Eastern Pacific joined the We need to talk through. They catch up with box head coach Bruce Arians. My guy coach can that Navy Breaking down the return of football CBS Sports Network Make sure you check that out. Right. So I got into this yesterday. And although I posed the question, then I still do not have a good answer. Hell happened. Earl Thomas. What happened to Earl Thomas? What has gotten into this guy like the image I had of him was that he was a rock a pro's pro. Somebody you could not only built a secondary around but an entire defense. Maybe even in its heart team literally from the second area. A lead from the front type of guy, a guy who could help set the tone for entire locker room. And then when things ended the way they did in Seattle, it felt like it was kind of a one off an aberration. Maybe just a dispute over money deal went sour. But then you had that insane incident with his gun toting wife. And bed sharing brother back in the spring. And that had me shaking my damn head. And then you have everything that went down in Baltimore the last few days. And the fact that they were desperate to get rid of this guy and in particular that his teammates do not want him around. I mean, really did not want him around. I guess, In a sense we can all relate to that. Right? I mean, have you ever worked with or been around somebody you hated so much that the second they got fired. Not only did your job With your entire mindset held your whole life improved. Right? We've all had that happen. Probably more than once. That's the Ravens. That's how toxic Earl Thomas was to them. That's how badly his teammates wanted him out of that building, reportedly So it got me thinking. Is this who this guy has been the entire time or did something change? And then, of course, the moment the Ravens announced that they were done with him. The rumors linking him to Dallas started up and that's not new. He practically begged the Cowboys to come and get him out of Seattle a few years back. Jerry Jones certainly has been infatuated with his guy and Earl is a Texas guy. But then, as time passed, there were reports that even Dallas was not interested in Thomas. It is not a good sign it all right, like it's one thing to have ugly endings with two of the most respected organizations in the entire league. But when the Dow is cowboys don't want you that's trouble. Serious trouble. Because Dallas will pretty much take anybody, regardless of the rap sheet or their baggage. In fact, they love it. They seek it out. They wanted they had Greg Hardy. They have Aldon Smith. The list goes on. Except yesterday, Head coach Mike McCarthy admitted that the team had had internal conversations about Earl Thomas, but he liked the roster. The way it wass conversations I've been involved with. We had a chance to give a thorough personnel meeting just two days ago in We're very confident and where we are a ce faras. The 80 man roster. You got something right there, All right. I mean, you're telling me that Earl Thomas He's unworthy of one of the 80 spots. McCarthy went on to talk about how it might somehow impact the team's chemistry..

Thiss is Big Al and Joe Joe Hotline and bring in our NFL network insider, tremendous Ian Rapoport being brought to by Century casino in central City. Experience weren't hopped, warm hospitality, great food and the hottest. Let's table games Century casino, come for the action and stay for the fun. It's the first time you've probably been described his tremendous and just throwing that out. That's a special statement. I mean, I've been called a lot of names. Yeah, not one of them recently. But you never know. So a total of 77 tests in question from 11 teams and one New Jersey lab. Tell me the NFL's not scratching their head a little bit over all of this, and there are a total of five labs that teams are using around the league, right, right? Yeah. I mean, I would say they are definitely scratching their heads. I mean, honestly, like it's hard to fathom Like, like isolated contamination, like I don't even know what that means. A sample spilled and like Got in 77 samples like obviously, that wasn't it, But I'm I'm just I don't understand. Like what actually happened anyway. I guess that sort of thing's happened. Sort of thing happens in sci fi replaces. So what happened? And you know it was scary. I think Saturday night and really early Sunday morning was pretty scary, too. And you're mad, Maggie and you get a call. Hey, it's three in the morning, Matt. You know, you got nine people positive and Kevin's Vance. He's getting a call it for Kevin. Your positive So all that was kind of bad and scary. The other part of it is this has to happen. You know, this fire drill has happened because there's going to be things this season that are going to go wrong. There's going to be, you know outbreaks. Potentially, there's going to be positive test is going to be scared. There's gonna be some starting quarterback test positive. On the day of the game. And what do we do? How fast can you get? The result Is this positive? Isn't not. What does it mean? How do we adapt? You know, this was really a dress for her super teams to figure that out. So obviously it was, you know, sort of bad and scary. Um But it's sort of needed to happen just to let teams in the NFL kind of waved their way through this mess a little bit. We have to really impressive guys that have made AH made a lot of plays in his league that are now free agents that I don't have any idea Ah, where they're going to end up Jadeveon Clowney and Earl Thomas. Any word out there if those guys are going to show up in the FC West Um, I would say for Earl Thomas. Um I don't know about that. I mean, I don't I don't think he's gonna be with the Broncos. But, you know, I mean through. The Raiders have been kind of sniffing around it up to that being come interesting one You know, I don't know, Maybe the only sort of possibility there but, you know, there's obviously a lot of interest from the Cowboys, um, ending for Earl Thomas. You're such a good player such a big name Players. Future Hall of Famer. Obviously going through a tough time. But especially. He doesn't cost a lot of money, because if he's banking on that 10 million this year, then He doesn't you know he can and it's offset. So you know, he doesn't have to sign for a lot of money He could sign for just a little bit on still get his 10 Million so obvious cure. See where he goes. Obviously, the Cowboys were short of the team to watch their, um and then for clarity, you know, he's got the Titan got interest there. You wonder like You know if the Ravens believe they have $10 million free from Earl Thomas. Do they make a run at him? You know, was there some sort of wild card team? Maybe the jet. You know, I think Clown Cluny and turning down a lot of money from the Browns early a lot of money. And now it doesn't seem like the Seahawk, Sir. Interested. You kind of wonder. Did he missed that really big payday at it so often coming in free agents. Like that. But if he doesn't end up on a team this year, speaking of Jordanian Clowney Next year. He's not definitely not going to be able to even have that kind of money coming his way. Would you think if he doesn't have anything to show for it in the last year? Right? I mean, he'll be healthy. But like you know how right? I mean, I don't imagine he is going to sit out a year. So you know he's going to get to the point where, like he's gotta sign some point at some point. You take the best offer you can at some point You say? I'm just going Not enough, but I'm just going to take it and we'll try again next year. I mean, I think anyone who's done the contract realizes that like you couldn't believe your words, something illegal organ. Ryan's a good example. Great player, Team leader. Great Knock room once $10 million. Is that still possible?.

"What are you doing? Practice put on. A Carlson in the locker with my last thing is like you know that they have confidence in the young man to Sean Elliott who has played six snaps in his nfl career and has just played an appeared in six games. But from to say, we're good two weeks before the season going with a third year guy at a Texas to Sean over a player who has more pro bowl appearances than Sean Elliott has game appearances tells you a lot about what they think happened. Their locker room was funny because you talk about that. I think it's important to compare Earl Thomas to the guys that left the locker room recently at position Eric Weddell is that. Dude model teammate Great Tony Jefferson eight-plus do so when you have those kind of Jews this generation is played with Earl Thomas doing his own thing was not going to work in the locker room. Yeah it look it to me. It's a sign of good organization and a good culture in that. Everybody makes mistakes that what's different between teams is not something's make mistakes and others don't make mistakes. The differences people the good organizations recognized the mistake take the financial hit even if you have to recoup some of this money through through. What is it conduct? Detrimental Center calling it you've recoup it's still hit but to me, it's okay. What's the greater good here and I think that's the difference between these smart organizations and organizations. As you admit your mistakes, you cut your losses and you move on Pete. And you know there was all that talk of Antonio Brown come into the Ravens or talk a Dez Bryant coming to the Ravens maybe does is fully all in like there is a very particular chemistry and culture in every building and Earl Thomas they had them for more than twelve months. They wrote that out whatever I don't see the Ravens as one of these teams doesn't vet and really go through the process of due diligence of what they're bringing into. Their building and to think they're going to drop Antonio Brown in after a fourteen into season in which they had the most offensive production out of any ravens team ever I might be able to use them on the field but remember it's more than just on the field. It is representing that logo represent that organization and also representing that entire locker room I'm not sure Antonio Brown makes a lot of sense if you just saw what they did with Earl Thomas. Agree with you I, want to get now a to what's going on with the New York giants because I saw you on good morning football, and for those if you're one of the handful of people that listen to this podcast, don't watch shrinks and company on Good Morning Football..

"And now move the sticks with Daniel. Jeremiah and Bookie Brooks. What's up everybody walking to move the sticks DJ and Bucky back with you and we've got our good pal with us today Peter Schrager Pete what's up man to my favorite guys in the business in my favorite podcast listen to while I'm attempting to work out during the pandemic guys. Thanks for being with us. But first of all buck, are you doing man man I'm good I'm good. It's been A. Fun Field Weekend Lot of football? News. This weekend. But good I'm good. I'm good man the potters won seven in a row. Tattoos Machado election shirt on right now sugars at Yankee Fan he is all beneath it just actually the two teams I can't say anything about I'm on with a dodger fan the best team in baseball on a Yankee Fan we'll probably GONNA win the world series. So I guess I'll shut up and I I just I appreciate the way the game is played in a traditional and ethical way I. Guess what you are support is this new wave that I just I can't get by Three Oh count basis loaded this guy swinging for the fences no. Sound like mad dog right now. That's fantastic. Eight shrink. Let's get things going here. A lot to get to. We got we got about thirty minutes or roll here. I want to get your take first of all Thomas and wh- down there in your reaction to look last year in March they signed marking groom and Two big agent deals hoping they'd be the veteran leader's mark. Ingram has taken that role and ran with it and has been the consummate team mate. But everything I heard again after he's already been cut but I go and I do my work and Earl Thomas was not that leader and was not a great teammate and at the end of the day, this was just the boiling point or the last straw I mean week four last year they lost forty, two, twenty, five to the browns. Apparently he altercation with Brandon Williams was a beloved player in that team in the locker room. Late, for meetings all that stuff, but the word was never the leader and it wasn't ever voice to the locker room. It was really other stuff and that's not what you need for that amount of money in a player of that age so. I'll just say this, they weren't wishing him well on his way out, and there's not a long line of Raven staffers who are crying this morning. Peter in in terms of that, just talking about earl what does this do for him going forward? This is a two teams and I say two teams who have really strong reputations for Dillard, guys with allow personalities. How what does that market going to be going forward I dunno many interested everyone assumes that the cowboys would jump right Outta or that Dan Quinn because his history with him in Seattle would want him in Atlanta Dan, Quinn came out early Monday morning said we have no interest in the time and the cowboys look we've been linking him to the cowboys for three years now so we'll see. But at that price, probably not much interest but you're right book I mean who doesn't love playing for Pete Carroll and that seahawks organization and who doesn't have the strongest of praise for the Ravens of what they're doing they're in Baltimore it's not like these to random teams either two of the most winningest franchise the last decade and kind of talked his way both book I want to get your..

"End up all over the entire nation. That James Kelly has got some wild side hustles going on. My man D Dub is a moviemaker. Legitimately. He makes movies. So my entire crew has got a side hustle. So if you're gonna come up in here and war Alvin Dolor owes moonlighting. Just make sure you give credit everybody else rich. Is there anything that you're doing that I should know about? Besides smashing sugar 24 7 that does not count. All right. There you go. There you have it. Right. So my quick question to you is the hell happened to Earl Thomas. I mean, seriously, what the hell happened to Earl Thomas? We're talking about not only a truly great player, but a great leader and a great teammate, essentially everything that you would look for in a football player and a guy. Least we thought so. Now you know me on the first one to say that we really do not know any of these guys. But But as it relates to this guy I bought in for sure. I thought I had a pretty good understanding of who this guy is and what he was about. Then you see the last couple of years. You see how things ended for him in Seattle with him, flipping off Pete Carroll as he was carted off the field. I mean, obviously, he's self, a significant injury and was caught up in the moment, but that's the image. That's the one image that's burned into our mental hard drive after a great run in Seattle. Earl Thomas. You know, one of the key members of the L. A. B. The last thing the one thing seared into our consciousness is him flipping off Peter what being carted off like? I never expected to see that. From that guy. But you know it happens. Right Star players, big time head coach is taking on the wrong side of each other. I guess I guess that will happen. So then he signs with Baltimore last year, and that seemed like a perfect fit. Seven time pro Bowler Future Hall of Famer joining up with one of the best organizations in football and one with a reputation for great defense. No brainer all day long. Me and the Ravens wanted him right? No matter how things ended in Seattle, they wanted him and they convinced him to sign with them over Kansas City, and they agreed to a four year $55 million deal. And yet now one season later, they're cutting him. Team tweeted yesterday. Quote we have terminated. Earl Thomas is contract for personal conduct that has adversely affected the Baltimore Ravens, unquote. So not only are they releasing this guy only year after signing him there looking at taking a possible $15 million cap it in order to do so. Do you know how toxic you have to be for a team? For them to be willing to eat that much money just to get you to go away. You have any idea how much of a problem you must be? Again. We're not talking about some random team. We're talking about a team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations, and we're not talking about some random scrub. We're talking about a seven time pro bowler. I mean, you think they would want all the talent and all the options that they confined because they're that close. But in the case of Earl Thomas there like now, we're good. Hit the bricks. You've already done enough damage to this locker room and this franchise. Rural Thomas. Again. The question the hell happened, Earl Thomas. But one answer would be dead. On Friday, he got into a fight in practice. All right, That'll happen. Kind of a training camp tradition. Right guys from the offense and the defense get locked up. It's hot. It's been a long day. Guys were frustrated. There's some shoving, maybe a punch or two, and if you're really lucky somebody takes off the helmet and weaponize it. Come on, man. Like on some level the coaches actually like it. The lack like they're all pissed, but they like it. Except that's not what this wass. This was Not that, according to reports, Orel Thomas did not get into a fight with somebody on the offense. He got into a fight with somebody on defense. That's right, according to reports, safety Orel Thomas punched safety. Clark. How does that happen? How are you doing? Punching guys in your same position Group. Funny. You should ask because after he was kicked out and sent home, he jumped right on Instagram and he posted video of the incident. He wrote, in part quote being sent home sucks. I can't take the reps. I need to keep momentum going, But I can reflect on things and keep working my plan to help the team win. He then added, quote, Ahe mental error on my part, A busted coverage that I tried to explain calmly was met with built up aggression turned into me getting into it with a teammate. End quote, all right. I mean, like, if that works for you, Earl. Problem is, it doesn't seem to work for any of Earl's teammates because my guy Jason Locke, and for tweeted in part over the weekend, quote, sources said the team's leadership council made it clear to decision makers. They would prefer that Thomas not be around Capitain could be issue but conduct detrimental. Claus provides potential Avenue for relief. Jealousy also went on and reported quote. There was a strong push from Ravens vets to get rid of Thomas and make two Sean Elliott, a starter. Ravens believe they have a case to enact default language in Thomas's contract for conduct detrimental after the latest incident, swinging on teammate Chuck Clark, unquote So where's that all mean? I'll tell you what That means. It means the team would rather have dish on Elliot, who has played an on Lee six games in two seasons. Instead of role, Thomas And that Earl Thomas is former teammates would rather roll with Elliott, then a seven time pro bowler. And as bad as that is for girls. Look, there is one more tweet from jail. See, quote Thomas has sent home since the incident and his departure through trade or release, viewed as a big addition by subtraction in that locker room player is not willing to put up with Sure, Alicia behavior that they tolerated in 2019 in his first season with Ravens and quote, I mean, damn, like I always say, we really, really don't know these guys. But the fact is, these guys really, really don't know these guys because obviously, the Ravens had no idea who or what they were getting in Thomas. Hey. And a major shout out to my guy J. L. C for working churlish into a tweet. Outstanding work, Jason, how outstanding work. And then finally, from the sounds of this. This was not an organization led decision. It was a player led decision. It was the other players saying, Get this guy the hell out of here. And the team at that point had no choice but to agree. The leaders on that team did not want him around. Again. What's it say about Earl Thomas, but his teammates are saying him and get this guy out of here. It definitely says This was not just one fight in practice. It goes back to him being quote churlish last year. They're sick of him. They don't want him around. It's amazing fall from grace, and by the way, when we're asking the question what happened, Earl Thomas, let's never forget about that extremely weird incident earlier in the off season..

It means the team would rather have dish on Elliot, who has played in on Ly six games in two seasons. Instead of role, Thomas And that Earl Thomas is former teammates would rather roll with Elliott, then a seven time pro bowler, and as bad as that is for girls. Look, there is one more tweet from jail. See quote. Thomas has sent home since the incident and his departure through trade or release viewed as a big addition by subtraction in that locker room players not willing to put up with churlish behavior. They tolerated in 2019 in his first season with Ravens and quote, I mean, damn, like I always say, we really, really don't know these guys. But the fact is, these guys really, really don't know these guys because obviously, the Ravens had no idea who or what they were getting in Thomas. Oh, and a major shout out to my guy J. L C for working churlish into a tweet. Outstanding work, Jason, how outstanding work and then finally, from the sounds of this. It definitely says This was not just one fight practice..

"Pacific coming up this hour here on the show that we're good friend J. J did and he's going to join us from the caught offside podcast, our soccer analyst. He'll join us after the Champions League final yesterday. Bayern Munich ends up defeating PS G after TSG had spent all of that money over the years to acquire the superstars try to finally get a Champions League title could not do so. So where does that leave them? Also, MLS is back to playing in its own stadiums. What does that mean? And we're no now Only what 2.5 weeks away from the next Premier League starting up already. So J J will join us coming up in about 20 minutes From now, in 40 minutes. We've got Canadian bacon the day in the Stanley Cup playoffs. But we start with Earl Thomas and I have to say. Earl Thomas is right now to me, killing his legacy. Absolutely killing his legacy. Because this is a guy that was one of the heart and soul members of a Superbowl championship team with a legion of boom. This was a player who was part of one of the greatest defensive secondaries ever. This was a guy that, along with Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman all had a chance to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And he ends up at the end of his tenure in Seattle. Being carted off and flipping the bird to his sideline and his coach, the guy that he went to back to back Super Bowls with and the coach that has always been A defensive back, secondary type of guy. So you can't tell me that Earl Thomas didn't benefit from having Pete Carroll as his head coach gives Pete Carroll The middle finger while being carted off in the middle of a football game. And telling Another team that he plays against. Come get me as in the Dallas Cowboys. That was a really bad look at the end for Earl Thomas in Seattle. Now you could somewhat Excuse it away. If it is next stop, Earl Thomas balled out was a great coachable guy, a great teammate and everything like that, Because then you could say OK, and it ugly in Seattle, but Once you got paid, or once you got a deal he liked or once you get a new coaching staff. He had soured in Seattle, but he had come to come around to become the leader and the great player again for his new team. That didn't really happen. Yes, he made a Pro bowl. But apparently the Ravens Had been so soured on him after giving him tons of cash in that deal. To get him away from Seattle. And at Earl Thomas after he got into a fistfight. With another teammate Chuck Clark. The other day. Apparently, his teammates said enough. Get him out. Now, The Baltimore Ravens are a Super Bowl contender. The Baltimore Ravens were the best team of the A. F. C Last year, the Baltimore Ravens have MVP quarterback who's ascending. The Ravens have all of the pieces with a veteran coach and stability in that organization to win. For Thomas. Two have already worn out his welcome in Baltimore. To get into a fight. With a teammate and the players and the locker room sided with the teammate. Tells me all I need to know about how Earl Thomas was handling his business in Baltimore. The fact that the Ravens Would just eat $10 million of guaranteed money. And yes, they may file some type of grievance. Or I should say the Ravens might try to avoid the money and he might try to file the grievance. But either way they're willing to go down that road of that battle off $10 million guaranteed. Because they're sick and tired of role. Thomas Sick and tired of Earl Thomas in just two years. He got into it with branded Williams. After a loss to Cleveland about a year ago. He got into the infield altercation with Chuck Clark now, which is the straw that broke the camel's back. But here's the biggest thing could you argue? Hey, Earl Thomas, his fiery, He's combative. This is the type of attitude that you get with the Legion of Boom guys. Sure. Bye. A source tells Adam Schefter Earl Thomas missed was late to several meetings during his a year and a half in Baltimore. And I'll tell you this right now. That's the bigger part of this equation. That he had checked out. He was not accountable, and they said to hell with you. Because that team is on the verge of winning a Super Bowl, or at least competing for one A veteran safety like Earl Thomas, who's gone to seven Pro Bowls. One of which, with the Ravens. And has gone to two Super Bowls and has a big fat ring. He's got with all those guys, one for them to kick him out of town for them to say, Get him out of here for the organization to say we'll eat the 10 million bucks, even if we can't get it back. Tells me it wasn't just an altercation with Chuck Clark branded Williams or anybody else. This was about lack of accountability, being lazy, being checked out and not caring. And I got to tell you that to me is such an awful look for Earl Thomas. Because this is not like he took the money..

"Are looking back. We're talking about what Just happened on the court on the field on the ice on the diamond in the police blotter, whatever. We're reviewing the day normally, and actually, that's why I love working nights. People said to me all the time. Don't you wantto work Crime time? Quote unquote. This time flies great. Everything has just finished up. We get to talk about the major storylines in immediacy when we want to react. Baby. This is after hours with Lawrence. Are you one of those people that can't stand it when There are cheerful peeps who wake you up. Oh, my gosh, I am the worst morning person on the face of the planet. I will just admit that readily, But since I was up over night, he doesn't matter right now, So I'm already awake and I can be cheerful because I've had practice for the last several hours. You. You may just be waking up and you may not want to hear someone say good morning, but happy Monday. You've got this. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio. Thanks so much for tuning in back from my brief respite. Fact I took hiatus from social media was kind of nice few days away from Twitter and Facebook. Can do a body good, and now we're back at it, and it's another busy week in his August unlike any other. We're live from the rocket mortgage by Quicken Loan studios when you need certainty in the home buying process with alone that fits her life. Rockets can We are now inside of three weeks until week one in the NFL. Believe it or not, Ripley's believe it or not, In fact, With If you fast forward three weeks from right now, it will be all football wall to wall. Because we'll be just past Sunday Week one. It'll be the Monday Morning quarterback edition of after hours and I'll be encouraging YouTube tap the brakes because there's all kinds of overreaction when it's the season opener, and it's weak number one. But the NFL had a bit of a dress rehearsal brain and being of the bills called it a fire drill. On Sunday and we'll explain the good news is There were no positive tests. That's bottom line. What you need to know there were no positive test, but there was a scare some frustration, some confusion. Some lag time. And the NFL had to work its way through it. Which I think is important. Really good exercise for what may happen in the season. We hope it doesn't but it might. And so it was a bit of a chaotic day for 11 teams in the NFL, but they march forward and they move on. And the NFL's week one. Obviously kicks off with chiefs in Texans on Thursday, September 10th, but Three weeks from yesterday. We just talked about Earl Thomas getting released by the Baltimore Ravens. And so we're waiting to find out. We'll see whether or not he gets picked up by another team. But you wonder if any franchise is out there. Not only will he be expensive Slightly but You also wonder If His exits from Seattle. Remember the whole flipped the bird to his former coach, But before that, It was about the holdout and wanting to get paid. And it really Got nasty with his former franchise, Seattle, where he was part of the Legion of Boom. So that was one exit in which bridges were burned and now in Baltimore. Where he punches a member of the Ravenssecondary one of the guys that he's working with on a regular basis, and the report is that Chuck Clark Got upset it Earl Thomas for missing a coverage. And so we kind of slammed his helmet down and yells. And Thomas punched him just clocked him. And so a couple days later looks as though the Ravens are going to try to recoup. The guaranteed money. Because they believe this is conduct detrimental. Until wait to find out. But Earl Thomas is now a free agent. So a bit of drama in the NFL. Also, I want want want finished to the 500, though it was good to see the race take place, even in front of all of those empty grandstands at the Brickyard, but Takuma Sato wins. The race is under caution. It's the rules. There was a late rack and so the last five laps or so were under caution and you can't pass under caution. And so he ends up kind of with an anti climactic checkered flag, But he does win his 2nd and 500. Couple of other notes from the weekend, the Dodgers hit the midway point the baseball season at 22 8. How about that? And not every team has played 30 games. But the Dodgers have yet to lose a series this season, and they are just hitting the snot out of the ball. So Mookie Betts with two more home runs On a Sunday but they had a bunch of different guys home, Artie that 77 home runs and so they're 22 8 at the midway point. The Mets are expected to get back on the field Tuesday. Remember the Mets and Yankees were canceled over the weekend because of a couple of positive virus tests, But the Mets travel party now completely negative, and they are expected. To get back on the field Tuesday. Look for a bunch of double headers in the subway series next weekend, and also baseball wanted you to know a 0.5 positive test rate. Over the last week. So the on ly Blips on the radar. Were the couple of guys that tested positive with the Mets. That's it. I tell you a baseball could do with the NFL, Sure as heck can do it. And so there's plenty of drama everywhere you look the NHL in the N B. A. They're part of the action as well. They are definitely enjoying the party. There are moments and they're happening. Mohr now certainly in the seeding games, it was just good to see basketball back and around Robbins for the NHL and and they jumped in with those play in Siri's. So you had some of those moments where it was obvious the intensity Certainly the tension inside the arenas. There are more and more moments now. In which I forget they're in a bubble. I'm so into what's happening on the court and on the ice that I completely forget that they're in a bubble, and we got one of those on Sunday afternoon in the Western Conference first round of the playoffs, Clippers and Mavericks. Trying to get it to Luca. They do but way outside, Jackson switches on to him and get away in time on the step back. He does. Hey, the Mavericks have won the game woke up dodges with a 30 ft or the women at the Horn and the Syriza.

"I really don't know quite yet. What to call If she goes my shape Peppler. She goes by Shea corner. I'm working on making it official. Okay, so you can just call me what you call me at home, which is Shea was going to say when we were, Honey, I know you didn't know what I was going to get out there where we going to start there For those of you wondering out there. Well, they're talking each other kind of differently on the radio. Well, that is because we are husband and wife Duo eyes. I do a little bit of fact checking. I think we're the first to have our own radio show moving forward. We'll be doing this on Sunday afternoons. Hours are flexible, obviously, is theirs. A ton of live events going on now in the world Covert can't hold us down. The playoffs will be coming up here shortly on ESPN Radio clippers, Mads will be leading into the three o'clock Ah lot of news going on. But first give a little bit of background on myself, Jordan Cornett and shape Peppler corner It is and how we're going to roll with that, whatever more off the top here well, A lot of news obviously to get to in the show with Earl Thomas being released by those Ravens. Ah, lot of playoff talk to discuss will have an insider coming up in about 10 minutes on the Earl Thomas situation and everything that went down, But before we get to that, like I said, a little bit of background if some of you recognize my voice, I've done some work with Spain and company I was company. The name was company for a long time on that show great greatly enjoyed working with Sarah, Spain, the immense talent and friend that she is done spot radio work everywhere else. My main gig. Is, is a host an anchor for the A C C network, which began work this past year. I have to do a lot of college basketball commentary on all ESPN platforms, and that's enough about me. Why don't you share because you're the newbie to the ESPN family? Shay Got a little bit about your background very newbie to the ESPN family, as in signed those papers like, two days ago. So this is my first go around on ESPN National High world. I was on ESPN in Chicago and also covered the Bears in the NFL for the past. Three years. So lucky me. My first debut gets to be with my husband. Hopefully, by the end of these two hours and every Sunday after that, we don't actually kill each other. But we're going to do our best, right? Yeah, we are gonna do our best, You know? Are we going to be Nicholas Shay and Jessica Simpson? Are we going to chip in Joana? We're hoping to be the latter. Why would you go to just saying that's what happens when you work together? So we're going to? We're going to have to hope to be the latter there. I've got great faith in it, and it helps that you have Such a strong NFL background because Earl Thomas is the news without question right now, everything going on there? It has just become official. Given the Ravens timeline there on Twitter when you say it there, you know, it's really they are. In fact, moving on a contract has been terminated. Are you surprised with with this going on and just little bit of background? Of the Ravens did tweet we have terminated. Safety Earl Thomas is contract for personal conduct that has adversely affected the Baltimore Ravens so abruptly parting ways with the seven time Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas. Your thoughts. This smells a little fishy to me, however, and my surprise No, You can't punch teammates and you can't punch them in the face. But it happened. So sure you've been there with the bears covering that team in plenty of fights I have but not getting punched in the face and not letting the entire media know about it. Also, I will say this Earl Thomas has not gone gracefully from the different venues that he's been at. I remember vividly when he was in Seattle, him flipping the bird off. Pete Carroll on his way office. He was being carted out. Then he gets in a fight while he's with the Baltimore Ravens, and they basically show him the door and say, Please don't return, so he's got a way of just getting themselves out of situations and never coming back. And unfortunately for Earl Thomas, I don't know how receptive the Cowboys Thie team that seems to be the front runner to welcome Earl Thomas in Receptive. They're going to be to that kind of behavior of the Cowboys. Cowboys gonna welcome something. I understand Well from that kind of stress, I get it. I know Jerry Jones track record, but they have a new regime. Now in Dallas. They have a new head coach. They have a ton of players that Ranger Jones I get it, but I think if you're going to have a player come in like that, May I remind you we are 2.5 weeks out from the start of the NFL season. Time is not of the essence for old Thomas. And I know he's been begging to go to the Cowboys for a minute. Now he's gonna get his wish. But he's not gonna have a lot of time to adjust in covert times, where the rest of the guys around him and he punched someone in the face because there was a breakdown in coverage and they couldn't communicate properly. You think he's going to walk into a new environment in the middle of covert and not be able to communicate? It happened and I think that's what's most interesting is it's obviously way more Or than just a punch. Shame my opinion. I mean, this is a guy who had ended unceremoniously and CIA in Seattle. For a guy like Pete Carroll, who accepts a lot, John Hardball, and that franchise is one that's willing to work with guys as well..

"Remember that Rocket mortgage can there is AH lot happening in the NFL. My hometown of Kansas City today had the first NFL event that allowed fans today as they had 2000 fans at a training camp will talk about fans and the viability of being able to have them at games at some point over the course of the show before we have to start Is one Earl Thomas because Earl Thomas has found himself in the news a multiple times this season earlier this year, he found himself in the news for being a little too close with family members, and now he has found himself. In the news for a very different reason. So basically to summarize what happened. There were some rumblings earlier in the week about a rift between Earl Thomas and the other members of the Baltimore Ravens. And I'm thinking, you know what? This is just Radio gossip. This is his Internet rumors. There's nothing really to substantiate that there is an issue regarding Earl Thomas and boy that an issue finally occurred. Today. Earl Thomas was sent home from the facility following a fight with a teammate. And they're talking about releasing Earl Thomas. Think about it. Think about what you need to do as a prominent NFL player who is a borderline Hall of Famer. For you to get it a training camp fight. And then talking about kicking you off the team. Think about it. We allow training camp fights. Have you ever been to which to an NFL training camp? Fight days. One of the best days to be there. Everybody dabs each other up A I'm sorry. Hey, we're on the same team. Don't do that. It's no harm, no foul. That's not what happened in this. Earl Thomas than post this on his instagram being being sent home sucks. I can't take the reps. I need two to keep the moment I'm going. But I can reflect on things and keep working on my plan to help this team win. This has been one of my best camp. Craziest situation like this can throw dirt on it. Here's the clip that starts the fight. So Earl Thomas, then shows us Practice tape showing what led to the fight between him and a teammate shut, Clark. Earl Thomas is on the verge of being released. If they're released Earl Thomas today they will have paid him $22 million for one season. I'm a big believer that your window in the NFL is never as open as you think it is. I'm not saying this closes the chapter on the Baltimore Ravens. But I'm saying when you were clearly trying to be the hunter in the scenario between you and the Kansas City Chiefs, you cannot allow distractions and what's happening right now, with Earl Thomas and Chuck Clark. Regardless of whose fault it is, is a distraction, and it would lead me to ask the question. Is this an Earl Thomas problem? Because there was a reason why Seattle was not interested in paying Earl Thomas Long term. There was a reason why, when it came time for them to make a decision on what they wanted to do Long term, they weren't really with it. And you remember how contentious that got between Thomas and the organization so much that when Earl Thomas broke his leg, and I believe that Earl Thomas was on the verge of being traded to Kansas City He's been flipping off management as he is being carted off of the field. We then don't see Earl Thomas again until he plays for the Baltimore Ravens. He has a good season last year, not a great season. He then got stiff armed tto heaven. Bye. Derrick Henry, and nothing was the same. The Ravens are asking themselves. Is this a player that we can continue to work with and operate with at a high level? They're talking about cutting Earl Thomas in getting back his Signing bonus They're talking about cutting him for conduct detrimental to the team and getting back $10 million on the season. Every team makes excuses for its best players and its most expensive players. Now, Maybe some of this is Earl Thomas isn't a star player anymore, and you're looking for a reason to get out of the deal. But we're talking about rumblings from pro football talk that teammates air, speaking off the record that they've grown disenchanted with Earl Thomas and that they no longer view him as a high level player. Players know If you're not bawling in the way that you're supposed to be bawling and you're causing an issue in a rift in the locker room. Guys going to let you know about it. And guys are going to be very vocal about it in the ways that the Baltimore Ravens have. Is this a player that you would consider picking up on your team 855 to 124227. The fact that the Ravens are putting this out. So the media the fact that the Ravens are allowing this information to be leaked to fans would sell me. The Earl Thomas is not going to be on the team for far too much longer. There were rumblings before we knew what the issue was. We then see the fight. We then see the video. Earl Thomas has been on damage control this whole time. He's been backpedaling since the second round of the NFL playoffs. Is what we've seen from the borderline Hall of Fame Safety General Thomas Is Earl Thomas, a player you would pick up because the name is certainly there And I would say the game is mostly there is well. There's no debate on Earl Thomas can help you. There's no debate if he provides veteran leadership. Is he a guy who can set the tone and set that simple? Can he be that enforcer for your team? There does appear to be a question of Can you coexist with this player? There does appear to be a conversation right now, if you can continue to function at a high level and have this guy in your locker room. Because reading the situation from Jason Locke and four The Ravens situation with Earl Thomas has come to a head today. Sources said. The team Leadership Council made it clear to decision makers they would prefer Thomas to not be around..

PUT DOWN TEQUILA This, this really happens. It's just it's. We can laugh at it because no one got injured, but You're Josh hitting the floor when I'm reading this. TMZ Article I'm like this. Is. This is this is crazy. I mean this is. You can't make this up. The. Brett farve story. We've seen this song and dance before a lot of rich people have defrauded other people. The story is that Brett Farve in Mississippi has called of enterprises which I would imagine a lot of. Former athletes famous people in Hollywood whatever that use their individual quote unquote likeness as their money making you know. Vehicle just farve enterprises Lebron Enterprises Curry whatever right Tom TB twelve it's. It's all the same shit different pile, but here's what Brett Farve. Here's a problem. Brett, farve did. And I got I got a big red flag on this Brett form I guess, give speeches and to get Brett Farve to speak clearly not cheap. Because he got paid for two separate speeches, one five hundred thousand dollars and one six hundred thousand dollars now I've read some articles that which I'm sure many of you have stumbled upon like I don't think he quite understand and I definitely didn't until you read an article like Dan. They paid that guy to speak. They pay him how much! They pay. I get like paying a former president, but you see some of these stories about former athletes get paid appearances. You can racket some cash Brett Farve in his hometown Mississippi or his home state of Mississippi. I don't know if it's actually Hattie's burger wherever he grew up, but charge this you know up the Mississippi, some sort of entity, multiple times and got paid one point one million dollars well. Here's a kicker. He didn't actually give a speech either time got free month. Now I've seen enough true crime shows. I've known enough people that have done some shady stuff. Earliest family friends, not actually my friends we haven't made. Enough money yet, but. This zero two things either Brett is full on defrauding these people and he was actively doing this or he had an employee. Go Rogue, which also I could see be very possible. Do I envision Brett farve doing the books at Farve enterprises? No I do not do I envision Brett Farve. Scheduling the speaking engagements farve enterprises. No, I do not. Would it probably be a pretty easy place to go? Rogue like a lot of famous athletes charities you we. We've seen these stories over the years where it's easy for a family member, a trusted associate to take advantage of the situation. But here's where I kind of wonder. Because Brett, farve immediately immediately like to me if we were defrauding someone and I was not involved I would go whoa, pump the breaks here. I would say let's just stop everything I would not move any money I would not pay anyone back. I would just start asking questions well. Farve enterprise immediately paid five hundred thousand dollars. Of, the one point one million dollars back. To me. That's the classic like nothing is giving the money back so I would lean again. Educate against that far mine unknown something now. I'm a big Brett Farve guy. He's one of my favorite athletes. Of all time. I got to meet a months once when I worked in Philly, he was up seeing Mardi and Andy. I I I was. I've met some famous people over my life, I don't remember my heart. Beating kind of getting shellshocked now wasn't my mid twenties or whatever, but it was still. Pretty cool getting to meet breath for walking in the hallway, so I hope this isn't true. And I hope that he had an employee that went roque, but anytime that you immediately pay someone back after you get caught and just go nothing nothing to see here. We pay them back. There's an my bad are bad. We'll figure this out. I don't know I'm GonNa lean that he might have known a little something, because clearly far of enterprises was defrauding people. And you just now do I. Think Brett farve going to go to jail, of course not. No chance definitely. Not Mississippi either. But. It shows you you know what's the famous saying? A. member FDIC so let's talk a little bit about the Steelers Browns game because David Castro I mean finding more than fourteen thousand dollars for keeping the peace as he sees it as a hefty fine but it's a reminder that there is a real and lingering affect on Sunday's game because a lot of people had their pocketbooks lightened and you can talk about the disrespect you can talk about the both sides are going to to feel you could talk about the the things that led up to the incident or the incident itself and all of these things going to charge everybody to a different level emotionally but also a lot of money is is being taken out of tax which is a real affect when you're looking across at somebody they demand you cost me money above and beyond any and and on top of everything else that's like the the cream cheese icing on top of the cake here I mean I expect both teams to be work expecting some sort of a an an incident but dies there's too much on the line in this game to let that revenge whatever it means for either side become a bigger factor than I don't know actually winning a football game for two teams in the playoffs if you look at this of the Browns of winning this game both teams to be sitting there at six and six no the rounds is as much as they strolled earlier in the year they've won rattled off a number of wins or send five and six picks Pittsburgh now sitting at six and five there in the playoffs at this point time so this is what kind of crazy here is I think that'll end up prevailing over any individual disputes that happened in trying to get retribution for things that happened before is the make the both of these teams there guys ultimate goal is to alternately make the playoffs and then also to retain as much of their salary as possible if you think the fines or have you last time the involved no I'm sure is going to issue some sort of easy to these teams like there's not gonna be any room should be no tolerance for any tomfoolery shenanigans or something happens we will be heavy handed with our punishments are fines or suspensions in those becoming quick ejections will come quick we're not going to have this happen again two weeks after it happened once on a Thursday night and for the entire world to see we always your points of emphasis for the officiating crews the point is going to be flag early and often if you need to to send that message because you're right in a game where this much is important and when you look at it in all actuality we know miles Gerrit also feel for the rest of the year marquise Pouncey to the objection of the Steelers still off the field for this game even after having that suspension reduced Mason Rudolph who was the center of a lot of is now off the field benched for performance reasons it is in favor of doc Hodges so most of the principal players in this are off the field there's going to be something that happens in this because there's bad blood between these teams anyway it's division we saw this with the bangles a couple years ago with them but if you're the Steelers especially that offense of line we're where we expect a fair amount of the retribution to come from you're worried about duck Hodges back there a quarterback for just the second time this year now in a way that you've got to account for tried over come as a group without a great player you mentioned to the office of line going back to the cash for thing the for the five five in all of this absolutely ludicrous like I would like to sit there with whoever it was was there a Brooks James thrash moves with appeals officers that dealt with that I don't know who is rendering these Fizer who reviewed this I guess my thing if I'm to Castro show me something I could have done which would have been less benign but still would have helped stop the fight I mean honestly yeah he tossed miles you're to the ground it was a malicious you laid on him then really probably as much to protect Pouncey from her stopping him as anything else Gary wasn't fighting back like those two were in anything even throw punches I jokingly said it but it is your only similar to Ben Simmons in that fight of the seventy Sixers were a part of where he's laying on top Ben Simmons was applying a sleeper hold their Dave kinda had him in the arm bar holding them back before you tossed him but it was this same idea if you have one guy in this they can claim the role of peacemaker and in a fight this violent Dave did far and away the least violent portions of any of this well and that's what obviously they'll go through the appeals process but that's why you feel about the the lingering effect on this there's so many people that feel like they just got wrong and you know whether it's whether they're right or wrong in feeling that or whatever led up to it you've got so many people that feel like they were wrong in this process I can't figure out how to manage whatever that emotional moment is going to be because ultimately that's gonna be one of the keys especially early in this game like how do you manage whatever your level of aggressive I mean as it as a talker like the first thing I'm doing is I'm running my mouth right yeah like I've gone fighter I'm glad you close again you guys fight for me on on Black Friday so that I can go out and get the deals I'm the I'm the just server I'm just going to stir things up from the get go the ability to control the motion is going to be key coming up next we'll head out to Jerry's world how much of a distraction is all of this coaching talk to the guys actually in a locked room.

The Dolphins' Hook and Lateral: Is it the future of football?
"Dolphins. Six ninety nine touchdown was the longest touchdown with no time left to win a game in the Super Bowl era. That's good. Okay. Is the hook and lateral. The future of football Robert Mays show twice today. Man, more teams should do it. It won one game and had the opportunity to win another. But the Steelers when forget your Chris Boswell compensate went full Steelers. Yeah. I kind of think that one of the things I've talked about when when people have asked you what the next step in football is I actually think it's kind of it's not hooking laterals. It's sort of multiple people having the ball in the backfield. And then one of them throwing almost sort of like what the saints are doing a little bit with three quarterbacks. I if you have a crappy quarterback, it's better to have three of them and just have a little Mr. action there. Princeton does that with on those option plays, and they'll actually hand it to the guy that's the option runner, and he's also a quarterback's throw it, right? But apparently when I tweeted about the hook 'em out bit. Some people say the guy coach calorie the guy who doesn't punt who's famous for not punting. His thing is hook him are actually the next step in football. And actually, I had a role a thing as far as you're going to say, it's the same thing. Yeah. I've never I've never used that phrase hook and lateral before the Wikipedia says hook and lateral sometimes referred to as hook and ladder. But it's called hook and lateral. The Wikipedia I've never said hook and lateral in my life. It's a regional thing. It's like pop verse coke there you go. I just said, you you say, and you firmly believe that was the that was the term. I was like, okay. Well. I wasn't going to come in on shore. Good for you, buddy. I do any research. I appreciate that. I've always had hooking ladder. Maybe that's just the varsity blues influencing the way, I talk about football. Well, it's all. It was it was nuts. I mean, the play was insane. It was absolutely crazy. I even watch in real time. It was too hard to process. I mean, you have gronkowski back there. I guess to prevent a hill. Mary. And then the last thing you want with the guy who can't move that. Well, being your last line of defense happens. Right. So rob gronkowski is not the guy who went back there. That's so he's not Earl Thomas, I think we learned that today or. Or like Julio's defended those plays pretty pretty well in the past. Knocking those Johnson Calvin John yet. Yeah. Calvin Johnson has been a great great last play guy. But they knew they knew it was going to be a hook out excuse me, hook him out. All they said that the I mean you had to it would've been a seventy seventy yards in the air is capable for half the quarterback. Just not Ryan tannehill. Heff the quarterbacks might be strong. But yeah, I mean, I bet I bet a lot of them could throw seventy yards in the air.

Let's move on live on less than one percent of the American people care about that. Okay. Good. I'm glad I thought it was just person that on a really good night. Maybe a half million people watch CNN, maybe two million watch FOX put together it's less than three million. That means on a good night. Well, less than one percent of the American people pay attention well less than one percent, but the media access if it's the biggest thing in the world, but less than ninety nine percent. Plus don't know don't care. You know, how many people can name one US supreme court Justice twenty-five percent drilling. Seventy five percent cannot namesake. Can you name? One US supreme court Justice other than cavenaugh Ginsburg. That's pretty good can give me another one. It's. That's pretty good. Chief justices. Give me a hint come on nationals R, J R Ewing. No. Oh, geez. See my point is even well Roberts, John Roberts, right even well versed. People cannot name a supreme court Justice. So I'm not stupid. Stupid. But can you name a majority US rim court justices? I I would say, no, right, and your typical. So media goes nuts on these things. Most people don't care ninety nine percent Brad Kavanagh's in his office right now. And I so me as we ought to be. He deserves to be there. And I wish him well. Le'Veon Bell to report to PIttsburgh Steelers during Week 7
"Is the report from Jeremy. Fowler, that Levy on bell is holding out. Hope that team will recite them to a long term contract. Once his franchise tag is up staying away to preserve his body, but they're expecting him to report week. Seven bell is expected to report. Week, seven. The Steelers by I'm stunned, I'm stunned absolutely shocked hours. You know, less than twenty four hours removed from what we just saw from rural Thomas. And we just had a manual. He's done. He's not gonna play for the Steelers again. I mean, because we just saw the living breathing example of every single time. He, he touches the football. He's risking his long-term value, but you caught me about this Fowler interview in the interview. Bell says, it's costing me some fans of his decision to to set out. He said, a lot of people are calling me selfish, but I'm really not. I'm doing it for the guys behind me or the guys who don't value what's going on in the business of football. It's the part where he says it's costing me fans that makes me go, well, this is such a tone change from what we felt like was happening here in that. That's that's shocking. It would not. I would be less shocked if it wasn't. I mean we still have the image of Earl Thomas being carted off the field yesterday he says, he's in great shape. He says, he says that he could go out and play their tomorrow. But with Earl Thomas situation, I couldn't help. But thinking as we were listening to Emanuel and he was like, look, Earl hasn't been going to practice in Earl, hasn't been practicing with the team because Earls trying to preserve his body and all I can think about is how much of not practicing, not actually being in football shape all the time, like everyone else makes you more susceptible to injury. And maybe this is like a a almost like a warning to Levy on bell. Like, yeah, you can preserve your body all you want, but free stuff happens. And if you're not in football shape, I would think it's more likely to happen to the not

Seahawks Find Their Formula In 24-13 Win Over Dallas Cowboys
"It was an exciting home opener this afternoon for the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink field. Komo's Patrick Quinn. Was there with thousands of fans as the hawks took on the Dallas Cowboys hawks win at twenty four thirteen of the Dallas Cowboys and the hawks offense woke up they found the end zone. Three times Earl Thomas he had two interceptions himself the Cowboys offense. Really, just good. Never get anything. Going into was the fans this first home opener that provided a shot in the arm for the Seahawks. Back in the winning fueled once again by their fans, it just speaks to our loyalty like whereas loud as we've ever been the twelve came out in droves boring in the CenturyLink field. We gotta show up twelve to help the winless hawks get back on track. We're from Vancouver. And there's a lot Acadians come here. Still coming. Needs to be. That's all we went. Some brought the gear every game. Of course. Other fans inspired from there. I got a feeling. This was. Come out with a bang with a fourteen point lead at the half over the Dallas Cowboys America's team, but they're now Washington teams little hometown love help the hearts right the ship. Find their offense.

The most recent study also showed those working in minimum wage jobs. We're bringing home more money. This study you seem to echo another Berkeley. Study last year that just look at Seattle and both surveys, however appear to contradict university of Washington research that hours were cut and that there are fewer jobs for minimum wage workers. The difference in the studies Jacob Victor who was part of the UW research says his team looked at several industries where workers were paid minimum wage. The Berkeley research only looked at food service that accounts for thirty percent of minimum wage earners. The times reports that the U W project has been criticized for inadequately, separating the impact of minimum wage increases from the broader economic boom, which is naturally driven up wages, Victor contends that Berkeley's analysis did the same thing.
Outraged by Woodward book, Trump comments on libel laws
"Certainly plenty of buzz surrounding the upcoming release of Bob Woodward's book that offers an inside look at the Trump White House. In fact, it generated a recent conversation between Woodward and the president name sources, I've been naming the people are just say, you know, people have said I'd say two days following happened. Everyone including yourself. Quoted with the book fear Trump in the White House do out on the eleventh and excerpts already made public. The president is suggesting that libel laws be changed political reporter John Wagner wrote about this for his publication, the Washington Post, and he joins us on the KOMO Newsline. John, we appreciate your time very much. Thanks for having me before we get to this specific issue of libel laws. I wanna talk about someone who obviously is a major influence on your newsroom, and that's Bob Woodward as associate editor at the post, can you give people. An idea exactly what goes into his books. This is not the first one. He's written about a White House in terms of sourcing. Putting it all together before it is made available to the public. You're right. It's certainly not the first one he has written about presidents dating back to Richard Nixon and pretty much everyone in between now up until Donald Trump. The method generally uses is called deep background. He will talk to sources within and around the administration under condition that he can use their material. But most often they are not named. So that gets people to open up a little bit more, his interviews or can taped. So there is a record of everything that is said and from that that really becomes the source material for the book, I just wanted to provide that background because in one of those recorded conversations, we just heard a portion of the president actually praised Mr. Woodward. And of course, that tone has changed since yesterday in those excerpts came out in regards to libel laws. What exactly is the president saying? Tweet this. He said the same article or. Totally make up stories and quoting him here. Now for a picture of a person that is literally the exact opposite of the fact get away with it without your cost. Then he goes on to say, why Washington politicians libel laws? It's an interesting question because otherwise they're actually crafted at the state level, and he doesn't seem to be. You're interested in changing what happens in state legislature? So quickly. This course of action he's actually recommending so on a on a practical front. This is seems to be much more wish than reality. I think that's right. Very similar back in. Michael Wolff, fire and fury came out that also the unflattering picture of the White House, John Wagner. Good enough to join us political reporter with the
