Ramadan begins for the world's Muslims, a pioneer of gospel music is rediscovered
"On this week's AP religion roundup, Ramadan begins for the world's Muslims and a pioneer of gospel music is rediscovered. Hundreds of millions of Muslims began the daily facts of Ramadan this week during Ramadan observant Muslims abstain from food and water from dawn to dusk and gather with family and friends for nighttime meals. Enjoy within the bandages now. Imad Hamad of Dearborn, Michigan, says it's like opening a new page with God each year. This is the way that is required to face the month. This is the way it's required to again guts rewards and gain the forgiveness and open a new chapter. That's why we quote Ramadan is a month of renewable. Islam follows a lunar calendar, so Ramadan starts about a week and a half earlier each year. For more than two decades, the work of gospel music composer, Charles Henry pace, sat silent and 14 unorganized crates. I knew we had this gospel collection, but nobody had ever really looked into it or really even figured out what it was. Christopher lynch is a musicologist at the center for American music at the university of Pittsburgh. We had about 140 pieces of music that didn't exist in any other library in the world. And might be completely lost. Lynch and his team discovered that pace was an early pioneer of gospel music. His independently owned publishing company helped elevate and expand the genre. I remember working in our music store. If my late teens. Francis pace barns. She was surprised at her father's impact. I think what I learned as an adult, I recognized, God, he was smart. Bobby Burack: Racism Displayed by the Left to Black Americans
"Portion of those people had never been told, okay, see it. You're allowed to leave. No one's making you work here. If you don't like the way I'm running my company, then so be it. I think that that was shocking. But what you mentioned Chris Rock as well. Were they allowed to kick down the door because they're black, whereas if a white comedian is like a Louis C.K., had tried to do that, then they would have been shut down. Yeah, I think it was absolutely a great point there because I think by them doing it. See, this is why the left always talks so much about how the right is racist and I mean the most prevalent and known form of racism that I see in society right now is the way the left attacks black Americans who disagree. Look at what they do to justice clarence Thomas or Herschel Walker or Candace Owen because what that does is they're living contradictions to the entire message of the left being untrue. So when Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock attack, all identities from black to trans to white to straight, it contradicts the idea that the right is holding down black people and that woke ism is the savior for it that's prioritizing them. I think that's a great observation by you that it's even more effective when Chappelle and rock are pushing back against these ideas and these trends and patterns than it would be for someone like Russell Brand who is now doing it, but he came a bit late to the party. He was following after Chappelle and after Chris Rock. In many ways, this is the worst case scenario for progressives because Netflix is the most influential streamer by far. They've lost Netflix. Twitter is the trendsetter, the default editor for the corporate press. They've lost Twitter. The two leading comedians by a mile are Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle. They've lost them.

Federal Prosecutors Reveal Proud Boys Witness Was Informant
"Here, we're finding out that on Thursday, there was a, yeah, yesterday. Okay, so there was an emergency motion from the defense and the council of one of the Proud Boys named Zachary real. Their court case states that the government waited until Wednesday. March 22nd to tell the court and the defense that one of the defense's witnesses has been a confidential human source. In other words, a spy, since April 2021 through at least January 2023. Or since the beginning of the case, through the start of the trial. And the defense didn't know it. That this person is a confidential human source. So it could have been a friend of Zachary Rio that is the FBI flipped, but he is a confidential human source. So basically telling them what's happening on the defense's side. This is your government. March 22nd, Wednesday was the day before the confidential human source. I'm just going to call spy for now. Our CHS has that. Was scheduled to testify for the defense. So this person was supposed to testify yesterday. Julie Kelly, great reporter. I'm sure you've heard from her, she is on Twitter. And I highly recommend you follow her. Julie underscore line Kelly and the number two. So Julie Kelly number two. And she follows this stuff amazingly. She wrote, prosecutors knew back in December. That the defense planned to call this person as a witness and the individual continued to work as an informant spying on the defense during trial prep. So knew what they were going to say knew what the case was new at the defense was that they were going to present and relaying that to the prosecution.

US Strikes Iran-Backed Facilities in Syria After Drone Kills American
"Woke up this morning to find out that our military carried out several drone air strikes in Syria yesterday, reportedly killing 8 Iranians. Now, this was in retaliation for a drone strike that Iranian forces conducted earlier in the day on a coalition base that killed one American. Now it was a. UAV crashed into a unoccupied whatever vehicle, but they say it's a drone. All right. Because these drums are huge. Did you see that like when I think of drone? I don't know about you. I think a drone, I think of that little thing that all the kids have at my husband because he's a child, has and it flies up with a little three whirl or is on it and you put the batteries in and that's what I think of. These things are huge. They're big. The one that Russia took down of ours was something what was it 40 $1 million for the cost of that thing? So the Defense Department said that Iran's Islamic revolutionary guard corps crashed one of these drones into a building near in northeast Syria. At about one 30 local time and it left a U.S. contractor dead. And 5 U.S. service members and another U.S. contractor were wounded. It was at an arms depot and that left 6 Iranian backed fighters debt. Now there was a second bombing at a post that killed another two Iranian fighters. Now there's a group called the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It's a war monitoring group. Would you want that job? I thought about that as some reading this and I'm like, who wants that job? Yeah, you could be the war monitor. I don't think I'm gonna do that. They reported that there was another American strike on a military post near the border with Iraq, but that report has not been independently. Verified. Now,

And who is this really a place for a cable news commentators? Someone coming from the broadcast world. Does that mean that she is qualified for the job? I don't remember anything like that being written about her. But with Larry they act like, you know, the guy was some sort of, you know, shady used car salesman who's now all the sudden going to be governor. Well and again. I mean, I don't know why you have to cast dispersions to use car salesman because professions go compared to talk radio, you know, not bad. All right. All right. I'll give you that one. I think the biggest issue with that and again. Obviously, polls are open. I want Kevin Newsome Debris called. That's the number one priority here. But I'll tell you and you listen, you've been on the ground you've been, you know, calling it from a front row seat. And I'm certainly observing this from a different perspective and see now But it seemed to me the conversation of this recall changed drastically when suddenly talk radio host Larry Elder became the dominant candidate because now they had something to talk about other than Gavin Newsom and the Gavin Newsom, Riga and maybe I'm naive, You know, I recognize they have to have a candidate to talk about as a replacement. But ultimately this recall will only work and if it does work, and if he is recalled, it will be on only because everyone focused on the disaster. Gavin Newsom is the dangerous and destructive disaster that Gavin Newsom is. And the fact is, as soon as Larry became, you know, took the oxygen up in the room. All of those articles and all of the commentary and even the discussions on talk radio about Larry Elder All the sudden was every column inch every megabyte downloaded and every minute on air that was not devoted to talking about how terrible Gavin Newsom is, and ultimately, I don't know if that's a good formula. Would you ever run for office? Hell, No, That's the right answer. God. Hey, mostly because Randy knows all of us skeleton. I mean, honestly, job. Let's face it I had here. Here's how it goes. Larry. Oh, Carter announces he's running for office 30 minutes later. Randi Wang calls a press conference. I was at that I do have a lot of Larry Sound in my computer. Yeah. It's funny, and by the way, your monthly check is on the way ran ever since Larry announced that he was running for governor, this entire news cycle has been like the last episode of Seinfeld for me. Because everyone I know is now being quoted in the paper or having profiles written about them or appearing on television, John Very weird. Your life. Yeah, it is very strange. And and again. I think it distracts from the very real and very serious issue here is that Gavin Newsom is ruining the state. Um and he's got to be removed. And and again. I'm trying to look at the bright side that has been the dominant conversation really, and it continues to be, I think, except for the Larry elder aspect of that of that conversation as well. But we are, you know, Listen, there is something in our DNA. We human beings, especially we Americans where When we talk politics, we We focus our energies around him Individual. We love supporting a person and thinking that that person is going to carry our hopes and our dreams and our aspirations and all of our policies, so it's hard to have a very serious and important political conversation. Without then, immediately having it be about people, uh and and and in the binary world that we live in. If you're against Gavin Newsom, then bag just definition. You must be for someone. And as soon as you decide who you're for them, That means that person that you're for is going to come under scrutiny and you got to be ready for that. Which brings it back to Republican apartment. You absolutely nailed it. And to find the problem with the party in California, in terms of identifying candidates and being able to groom them and get them gigs and move them up through the infrastructure. It is a one party state. But that's why you need a strong party structure to be able to do that hard work. One of the reasons why they keep recruiting millionaires to run statewide or or big public official a public personalities like a talk radio homes or a movie star. Is because finding and identifying really good quality individuals and raising money for them in building an infrastructure to get out the vote and organized at every district across the state. Well, that's hard work, John and you know those Republican Party leaders. They've got a lot of other stuff that they got to attempt to, instead of the hard work that little political parties supposed to do. Let's say I got you drunk on Scotch on the rocks and Patty melts and put your name on the ballot. Larry O'Connor gets elected your mayor. Your governor, your senator. Your congressman, What do you think you would hate most about the job. I reject the premise. Why do you keep dragging me into a elected office? Do you want to move to D? C. Because it's clear you don't want to do it. You skipped over the thing that I would hate most about and that And that is the ugly nature of what you have to do to campaign. Look at. Yeah, I'm watching all of this video of Gavin Newsom absolutely positively. Degrade himself on a daily basis over the last three months with that maniacal smile on his face. He actually loves raising money for himself. He actually loved demonizing his political opponents and lying about them. He actually loves flying everywhere $2 million fundraising reception so that he can Continue to advance his craven political ambitions that takes a real weirdo love it so much right? They're moving around. That's right there. Each one is spinning right? Which is why you see a lot of them. Having these These spiral features. Each one is spinning, and then they're also moving around each other. They have gravity and they're moving around each other. And they had these. Each galaxy is a member of a cluster of Galaxies. And so these guys are orbiting the center of the cluster. Then the clusters are memories of superclusters. So these things have a lot of gravitational interactions everywhere. It's like a system of Galaxies. They all interact with each other. And they're all spin around their common center of mass exactly Right. And they're all spinning around that center. So sort of like a big, slow motion tornado, right? You looked at it If you look at it really, really slow. You're like, Oh, nothing's really moving. I mean, I guess a little bit. But you, you, you watch it at natural speed of tornado, And obviously it's going really fast and so a Galaxies that sort of that the same way the gather system of Galaxies is sort of that same way right? They're all moving around each other, and then occasionally you know, they bump into each other. Wow, that's weird to think that gravity works that way like we are, you know, moving around the center of the Earth. The Earth is moving around our solar system around the center of gravity, which is mostly the sign that the sun is awesome. We were living around the center of the galaxy in the Galaxy is also moving around. Center of gravity of its cluster of Galaxies. That's right. Yeah, and on and on and on, like a bunch of nested Russian dolls, you know? Yeah, Until you get to the biggest structures in the universe, you know, which are the superclusters and then the filaments of superclusters and beyond that, we don't know anything about whether there are bigger and bigger structures. That's as far as we've seen. So we're moving around, and sometimes these two get two Galaxies can just run into each other in the giant vastness of space. All these moving Galaxies can sometimes cross path, right? Yeah, And there's another thing I want to say about that before we talk about what actually happens, which is that it's incredible to me that gravity is the force that's dominant on these scales. Right, like That's the thing that's controlling how Galaxies form and how they dance around each other, and it's pulling them all the way through the universe and informing these crazy structures. It's all gravity right, But gravity is the weakest force of nature. It's weaker than electromagnetism. It's weaker than any of the nuclear forces. It's pathetically weak, but it's the only one that operates on these huge skills, and it can't be balanced out. And so because it's only an attractive forces, no repulsive version of it. And so that's why I like on these huge skills. Gravity is a thing that dominates gravity's determines the structure of the solar system. The structure, the galaxy, the structure of the clusters. Gravity sort of wins. In the end. It's like, you know, revenge of the nerd forces, right? The weakest force India and controls the universe. Take slow and steady wins the race. It's the turtle of forces. Yeah, Anyway, we need to do a whole other podcast on why gravity is so weird and weak and whatever and working to that Okay, So we have a coat. Clusters and Galaxies are moving around space, and sometimes they collide. So yeah, Let's talk about what actually happens when two of these things collide, but first, let's take a quick break..
