But if the virus spreads unchecked in billions of people who don't get vaccinated this year, you can bet it will mutate Ah lot and then it becomes just a matter of time before our vaccines are less effective. Earlier this month, Secretary of State Antony Blinken spelled it out. Even if we vaccinate all 332 million people, the United States tomorrow way would still not be fully safe from the virus. The Royal Family Celebrates Prince Philips Life
"Welcome back to the airport on a day. That has been one for the royal history books. The duke of edinburgh has laid to rest after what was very intimate funeral. It's george's chapel windsor. Castle a with maggie with both at the end of what has been i would say a somewhat emotional day. Wouldn't you yeah. You know i was surprised. How much hit me. Sometimes because you know we've been covering this now for eight days right since. The death was first announced last friday all week. Long we've been hearing amazing tributes talking to people across the country following the story but for some reason today all came together and the most emotional moment was just seeing the family and it really struck me in the middle of it probably. I think when we saw the queen. Especially i mean it's hard not to get choked up a bit and just feel that heartbreak when you see the queen without fill up by her side knows what she's going through. So i totally agree. Definitely be more today than i was anticipating. The funeral of course was a day. That was prince. Phillip was heavily involved in the plans for a meticulous planner. And i think we kind of saw the fruits of fat today. Despite the fact that we had what was a very cova safe funeral following government guidelines. Any thirty mourners inside george's chapel. It felt like it had this. Show the pump the circumstance over royal events of family moments. There were more than seven hundred thirty members of the armed forces taking part in. It's somewhere across the grounds of the windsor estate. And i think that that lent to a very sort of grand sendoff for the of edinburgh despite inside the chapel it being so bad down and very minimalist in a way you know this was a that. Did not have a eulogy simply. We heard a lot from the archbishop of canterbury the windsor paid his own tribute to prince. Philip is. Kindness is humor and humanity throughout the ceremony. But as you say. I think that image of the queen seated alone in hama sc socially distance from other family members was was one that remains i think in the minds of many as we come to what has been a day of mourning for the entire country.

How Do Bank Closures Affect Local Communities?
"Bank shuttered more than thirty three hundred branches last year for some customers like me. The loss of a bank is a minor inconvenience. Maybe i can't walk to the bank in my neighborhood anymore. But okay i drive past another branch on my way. The grocery store and i still have a bank app on my smartphone. Twenty four hours a day but like me. Not everyone has a car or a computer or the know how to adjust their family. Being branch closes. Its doors that's something. Stephen jackson has been wrestling with in shreveport louisiana where he's county commissioner or perish commissioner as they say the louisiana would really got. My attention was a family who lives in cedar. Grow and cedar grove is a city. Mostly african american neighborhood. Stephen heard from one member of this family who goes to his church. She's an older woman and she'd been going to the same bank branch for decades even as the sign outside changed repeatedly from one corporate owner to another then one day. She got a notice saying come. Clean out your safe deposit box. That's how she learned. Her bank was about to close her closest bank now. She has to depend on the tax the or somebody to pick up and take what she's going but now she has to have them pick her up and take her completely outside of the neighborhood to going get her banking done for some customers. That might just be the push. They need to switch to online banking. But stephen knows better than to suggest that to his elderly constituent age. She's not just you can't just tell her. Pick up your phone. Do mobile banking. She's not going to do
Master Sri Akarshana | The Yogi With a Lamborghini | Making Decisions Right
"What i always say to people is that it's not about making the right decisions in life. It's about your ability to make a decision and make that decision right because whether leaving home was a at sixteen was a right or wrong. We don't have that conversation right now whether whether being fights whether whether whether working in burger van whether it's taking out a four hundred sixty thousand loan when i was twenty one. That's not my first business whether that was stupid or whether that was right or wrong actually. Nobody needs to judge that right now because at the end of the day i took this step i took this step because i felt it and when i took the step i decided that i'm going to make this work. Whatever step i take. I make sure that i make it work. And as a result of it now many years later. I've made the things work. And what's the result because mom and dad know that i'm safe not only safe. I have this abundance to be able to not only look after myself but look after them and help people around the world and that's all they ever dreamed of. And so i think sometimes it's it's it's not required to have the people around you support you. It doesn't matter if if you want something enough then you go for it you you go all in you. Make sure to make it happen. Make it work. Yes you'll face challenges but if you keep moving and if you keep staying solution focus you'll get there you know

We WanNa look at the article as well as the state of US banks and banks around the world. Should we be worried given the pandemic is the banking system poised to collapse. I was especially interested in the article, because it came out right after I had increased my allocation to stocks and added a preferred stock et after the money for the rest of US plus model portfolios. The particular preferred stock after us by shares has about twenty six percent allocated to banks and banks are on the cusp of this calamity that does not bode well for preferred stocks. In the article, Partnoy is particularly worried about banks exposures to an esoteric security. A collateralized loan, obligation or see Elo. We Discussed Sea Ellos back in episode two six in May twenty eighteen. collateralized loan obligations are asset backed securities issued by special purpose vehicles or s peeves. The S P V purchases leveraged loans which are non investment grade bank loans that have been syndicated. A, bank will make a loan to a Non Investment Grade Company, a higher risk company and then sell that loan into the marketplace. Many of those purchasers are Clo's is over a trillion dollars of leveraged loans outstanding. and. Most are held as part of these collateralized loan obligation structures. The way it works. Is that s? Cells, debt and equity securities that comprise to see yellow. Those securities are backed or collateralized by the leveraged loans. The CEELO has multiple layers tranches that are sold separately. The debt layers are rated by credit quality, so the senior layer is triple A.. There are lower rated debt layers known as mezzanine layers, and then there's an equity layer which is unrated. The payments on the underlying leverage loans, those payments are pooled together and flow in order. The first payments go to the senior AAA layer then to the lower rated layers, and then finally to the equity layer. That is known as they waterfall. The debt tranches are over collateralized debt ACL Oh might have issued five hundred million dollars in debt securities as part of the L O that are backed by six hundred and twenty five Million Dollars Worth of leveraged loans with the Additional One, hundred, twenty, five million in loans funded from selling the equity trunch. Each Cielo about one hundred and fifty to two hundred and twenty-five loans. And because the leverage loans, themselves are floating rate notes. Their interest rates will fluctuate as short term. Interest rates change the debt tranches within a cll are also floating rate, so there's some protection if interest rates rise. Now because of this waterfall structure, the equity tranches takes the first losses, then the lower rated debt tranches, and finally if it gets to that this senior triple, a. rated debt trench suffered losses. That hasn't happened before. The SNP does a global Cielo report looking at default rates. From Nineteen ninety-six to twenty, eight eighteen overall default rates for CEELO's was zero point five percent. The worst vintage year was sea ellos issued in two thousand eight. there. The default rate was one point seven percent. There have been no defaults in CEELO's issued between two thousand, nine and two thousand eighteen. And from that one, thousand, nine, hundred, sixty, two thousand eighteen period, there has never been a default for the triple eight trunch, and only one default for the AA trunch. Now as you know, we are in a pandemic and defaults within the High Yield Bond and leveraged loan space is increasing. Fitch estimates the twelve month default on leveraged loans is four percent, and that more than two hundred billion dollars of leveraged loans will default through year end twenty, twenty one. Adequate to a two year cumulative default rate of fifteen percent. Just because leverage loans are defaulting doesn't mean all the different tranches of a coo is experiencing a default. So a report on the wall, Street Journal from mid May that showed about ten percent of Cielo managers have been diverting cash flow away from equity investors and going to the debt tranches, which means there have been default that are starting to impact that junior equity trunch. What is different from this cycle, though is leveraged, loans are more risky and we discussed that in episode to a six. The covenants on these loans are less restrictive. The credit quality is lower. The financials are weaker and so we should expect defaults to increase. Question is will see a low default and other defaults and other loans impact banks to where we should be worried about our savings or investments that we might have in banks. In banks securities. Including their common stock and their preferred stock.

You can see to start with his. This para big is appearing above the surface. This is a Steller Sea Lion Vancouver in Canada. Someone's rubbing his fingers over the head of the Sea Lion. Like to attract a house cat. The sea lions curiosity is piqued. Then the sound of a little girl shouting excitedly. Seems to interest the sea lion even more. Trust out of the water towards surprises everyone. The girl looks about eight years old. It Stein too late. This animal's been fed before. They see lions cruising around gently and then. As the little girl sits down on the dot grill that the edge of the water sea-lion launches. In less than a second God. Oh, my God grabs the back of address and pulls the girl into the winter. She dragged under. But Guy Dives right into the water to safely. People's arms stretched down really fast and hoist them both up. And the sealines disappeared. It's startling to watch. You've got to think. What was the Sea Lion Doing? What was it thinking? It was. Impulsive behavior, probably frustration and it turns out. These people were feeding the sea lion just before this incident, never good thing to do with any wild animal. It's a species. That always seems pretty innocuous, but all it takes is one on a mole in a specific situation in a particular frame of mind, and things can turn quickly. This won't became a viral sensation, forty three million views and counting. What is it about off as a nation with fear that we have US apes? Sometimes the guides do the same thing this kind of. Help to sort of reassure the guerrillas. It's safe. They're they're in good company? I guess that black the black shirt. And the silverback. Climbing up to get a closer look at your head. He's under his back. Curiosity is the driving force here and a teaching moment for the young while I'm enjoying the safety of the silverback. Jones clutching his camera like a white knuckle ride, but not taking pictures, and and not making eye contact. He's exuding humility and submission. The has to the silverback probably weighs four hundred fifty pounds, and and now he's sitting just a couple of feet behind John. And then it gets even more extraordinary comes a female. Pulled us to count. Coming forward with the lips bullets, she gently rubs his ear and head. Really tend to. Watch your glasses and suddenly the about gets up. Glances momentarily at John. It's suddenly so clear. How big is he's? It looks three times bigger than John. Unbelievable. Any moves away down. The trail seems like he's satisfied with his experience with a human. All Sea lions do that, but there are so many nuances so many amazing layers to figure out. Just as we will behave differently, so do animals. I think it all comes down to one main thing. So what is like a little bouquet of flowers and Put that on the dashboard or just get like a little card or something and I was just trying to do this. Little things and then after a while, I just stopped. and. He's like my wife saying it says getting into this routine. Get up, go to work. Come back home dinner. Go Sleep. Get up tomorrow. Do it again go to church. And then the little romantic side of doing the little things in the sweet nothing at this. Stop doing I guess I was too busy worrying about being a father and stopped being a husband or I just pretty much just forgot that that it's okay. That can still be that same person. Then the two of them got news that no should ever have to hear. When the police came to knock on our door about two am in the morning. In I remember rushing downstairs, trying to figure out who is this bombing on my door? And that moment. I remember. Being so worried about what was wrong. So, of course when they asked me if I knew a Courtney Copeland, my mind already rushed. That is going to be a tragic situation. That was the night of March fourth two thousand. Sixteen The official story that Sherline Brentwood told is that around one fifteen? Their son Courtney was shot in the back and drove himself to a police station where he collapsed. He was then taking hospital in an ambulance. They were told his heart stopped before. He could reach the hospital. So once we got confirmation that Horn had passed. To me! I just felt like. My. Is just like at a standstill. Like this is not happening me, this is not real. This is not actually occurring. I just remember. US immediately just trying to comfort each other comfort. Daughters's best as we could, because you know. I life hit changed in an instant. At that moment going through all of that losing my child. Nobody could comfort me. The way that break could come for me. In I realize that one of the greatest joys that ahead in my life was my marriage. The way that he loved me the way that he loved my children. It was nothing else in this world that could ever compare. Their days and nights weeks and months were I. would always end up will land in his arms crying because. Even though I was fighting this external battle. The only person I've realized that I could be vulnerable with with with my husband. I really cry in front of others, but he was my safe place. "Hi Literature it's Lisa. Here it is a privilege to do this meditation with you today Eh. A little while back a combination of body meditations and therapy began excavating years of programming and trauma. Offer me and like a floodgate opening fear. Came barreling out. I had never thought of myself as a fearful person but now that I was trying to move forward I could clearly see how fear navigated so many of my steps sometimes. It felt like too much. I I wanted to quit all the reasons why should be afraid. We're relentless whispering to me. Every time I took a step in the direction of my own heart sometimes fear had a specific face but other times I noticed. All that was happening was fear of the fear of the fear so I began to sit with fear I let it sit in front of me and see it for what it is so in the city it's face began to change not with force but with just noticing seeing it for what it was Ramdas says. Fear is the result of getting stuck in the middle the result of ignorance. I came across a passage. That has helped me tremendously. It's from a man named Emmanuel. I'll read the passage three times and I invite you to to find a comfortable position. You can close your eyes.

He had a chance to clear his mind and and that wouldn't have happened if dabbled sweeney hadn't been enlightened enough to understand that that there's a mental side that what goes on inside one of his players heads is just as important what's going on inside his body or his heart even though they look like they're these big strong wrong good looking athletic guys on the inside their kids go to you know it seems like going to a head college. Football coach especially Ashley at a program like Clemson is risky for a player to go to your coach and to say I'm depressed or I'm not myself. It seems like there has to be a certain level full of trust between the players and coaches for the players to to be able to do that. I've sat with a lot of coaches a lot of a lot of people over the last ask thirty years. I think I have a pretty good geiger counter when it comes to you know the BS issue and I and I do believe that data is genuinely has his players interests at heart. A lot of coaches talk about you know we're a family This is one big family here at old state you and and you know at the first opportunity they're out the door looking for a better job. Bob and onto another family with Davo I sat next to him and I firmly believe that that family metaphor works and for one example they have something called Clemson. Something called the safe seat. Put a chair in front of the room and and we bring guys up and and I get it going. Tell me about your dad. Oh you don't know your dad or tell me about your your family or tell me what's your future look like to you and then the players get involved and then the coaches get involved in it becomes a very safe thing. INEX- thing you know you. You've learned something about this young person way more than Oh. He's just a good running back. How often does that happen. I don't know but the fact of the matter is it does happen the Clemson and is the is the one who is they're working with the the athlete to help him feel comfortable enough and to drop op the exterior the hard shell and so what happened with Jay after he took that time off Jay comes back to the team as a captain and leads glimpse into a national championship flips it and benches Alabama so you talk about you know I don't know sort of happy endings and made for TV endings could have gone a million different ways and it went. I think the right way. What is J. Guillermo up to now well. The last I heard about Jay was that that you know he. He was engaged to be married. He was you know a graduate assistant in wanting to become a coach which is kind of bringing thanks for circle. I'm able to do what I love and give back to the game. I love so much. You know if anyone needs needs to talk them knowing that that I'm mayor because I've been through. I know exactly how they feel. Someone who wanted nothing to do with the game at one point in time now thanks to therapy and you know a lot of hard hard work on his own behalf is now back in the game and you know wanting to help other athletes. It seems like one big difference between J Guillermo. Oh and Tyler Kalinski is that Jay asked for help like he was able to speak up about what he was going through and so my question is what is is being done to make sure that more athletes follow the J. Guillermo path the NCAA clearly understands that mental health is is a if not a top priority the top priority is far as the association concerned and putting programs in place and putting procedures in place that can help student athletes across the country and I I think the the Tyler who Linski story the tragedy of that in the shock of that started a movement the damn worth at campaign will utilize the influential bipolar sports to open up the conversation around mental health may two athletes at at work in st on their own started what is now called the damn worth it campaign that has spread all up and down the west coast where athletes themselves are speaking out in telling their stories in hopes that other athletes will come forward to tell their stories. I know the university in Michigan has been at the forefront of mental health issues with their athletes connected program. I was scared and embarrassed to ask for how this same year athletes connected was created. I started attending athletes. Can active meetings is meetings meetings. Tell me realizing that I shouldn't sufferance islands so I think slowly but surely the stigma is being removed. It's being ripped off in the inner. Feelings of athletes are being discussed in exposed and treated like never before in it's being spurred word not by outside agencies our interests but by the athletes themselves who have come to realize that that it is something something that can be talked about that. It's not a weakness to to feel weak or to feel fearful for to feel depressed or feel suicidal thoughts but it seems like a really early critical part of this puzzle is also the coaches are coaches creating an environment where they're athletes feel comfortable coming forward. There's so much pressure sure in in major college football and basketball and in the elite sports right now that I think it's the exception rather than the rule that the coaches coaches is really has really bought in to the the mental health issue because let's not kid ourselves. A lot of these coaches are under enormous pressure to win on you can graduate one hundred percent of your athletes but if you're a five hundred football coach at a major university you basically got three years and you're going to be looking for another job.
