"To AccuWeather meteorologist dean devore. Yeah, Cisco really, everybody should allow for occasional snow flurries all day. There's some snow showers up and just north and west of the center of the city as you get out towards Wheaton and Schaumburg. And then I see more as you go up in those northern suburbs towards Wisconsin, there's a really big band of stuff over Lake Michigan that could rotate along the lakefront and down towards the southern suburbs in northwest Indiana later today. I'm worried about some of those having some hefty amounts of snow coming down may not do much for slipperiness, but poor visibility this afternoon this evening we'll be watching that carefully here as we go through the day with more snow showers after yesterday's initial snow will keep you up to date. "Including the latest on today's snow, here's meteorologist dean devore. Well, not even just today's snow. I think we're going to have snow showers in tomorrow, some flurries and snow showers beyond that as well and it looks like Thursday as well. This is a cold air mass that's going to get even colder at times. So just be ready. Today's snow, the situation is there could be some slickness. I think this morning before the sun gets established, temperatures have dropped within a few degrees of freezing, but what's going to happen is as we go through the day, it's going to kind of continue to still snow, maybe some raindrops mixing into the lakefront, but those temperatures will be in the probably mid, even some upper 30s, even with the snowflakes falling. Then once the sun goes down, I think we have the opportunity to get some slickness again as that snow continues. When it's all said and done by I think tonight we're looking at coating to a probably an inch or two city in the, in the heart of the city at the lakefront, farther inland, we could see as much as two to four inches. And then there are more snow showers, and I think to come through tomorrow Cisco that are going to be problematic from a slipperiness and also a visibility standpoint, the high 37, maybe some afternoon snow showers Thursday, the high just 31 and some January like temperatures Friday with clouds, some sunny breaks like 24, back to near 30 on Saturday and a little bit 30s on Sunday. What a cold snap after that warmth at the beginning of the month, temperatures this morning are starting out here at O'Hare, where at 33, 34 at midway in the lakefront, I'm actually with a meteorologist dean divorce. His laptop, which contained the script called the big steel, and his gun, which he always carried, they were missing. And by the way, the aqueduct was searched extensively during the initial disappearance and they had no success, and it showed no signs of impact. And for the official account to work, Gary devore would have had to have driven three miles against traffic without being seen. And also, by the way, let's not forget this. His lights weren't on. So the drive would have been in complete darkness. For three miles, going against the grain of traffic. The Mysterious Disappearance Screenwriter Gary Devore

"Gary devore was a screenwriter. And he was driving home through the Mojave desert one night. He just finished a film script. Very successful screenwriter and a script doctor and a producer known for films like raw deal with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Dogs of war with Chris walken, but this script he was working on wasn't like those films. It was full of allegations against the United States government and it involved drugs and bank robbery, and it was all set against the, one of the 20th century's most controversial wars, the invasion of Panama. And Gary devore never made it home that night. He disappeared, lost in the desert in the dead of night in Palmdale as he drove home with this script he just finished. And he was found dead one year later, but the script along with both of his hands were missing. Okay, this is our government at work, guys. This is what happens. Now, there's a British academic named doctor Matthew alford who talks about this quite a lot. He knows a lot about what links this story to government problems, et cetera and he believes that Gary divorce disappearance is the quote greatest spy story never told. And he's gone to extraordinary lens to tell it. So back in 1997, and believe me, there was an extensive search for this guy. But there was no trace of Gary devore. For a year, but then he's eventually discovered by an amateur detective who had a hunch

There is a steady rain that's going to move back into the city. It's just coming into Connecticut in southern Rhode Island, as we speak at this hour and then probably by mid to late morning into the afternoon into the night off and on rain it's going to pile up to. I think areas with an injured to maybe upwards of three with some of those heavier amounts, maybe in the South Coast Cape and Island communities that got hit with the hardest rain from Ida. So we'll keep an eye on that and the flooding potential that it will occur here as we go through the afternoon and evening. Still some leftover showers tomorrow and then the dryer winds. "And leaf blowing starts at Lowe's. Kevin Brennan. WB's ease traffic on the threes. Kevin, Let's get right to it. Meteorologist Dean DeVore is watching some activity that is just lighting up through the Doppler radar. Right now we're seeing some heavy rain wear. The heaviest cell is that one that's just going up along the west side of 4 95 past Milford. That was the concern and there's still a concern in that some just looking at the velocity, the radio velocity. That there could be a little spin or some wind gusts and then and this is the situation when we have a tropical system that's spinning on its own is Henry is to our West, and then he had more spin in the atmosphere. As you get through the day. These things can have gusty winds that could spin up briefly into tornado and then spin out of that situation. So Wouldn't be surprised if we see a tornado warning to pop up and some of these showers continue to pop in here. It will get even heftier once that rain heavier showers that are back around Amherst and Springfield down to Hartford and eastern parts of Long Island. That batch once that band of this stuff gets towards us here. Into the middle late afternoon. Again, we could see that happen so hefty showers, some gusts that can spin up into the tornado. Possible rain will cause some flooding issues as we go through the afternoon and evening for sure. Finally, those lasted the showers spin away. From an MRI later tonight, and then we dry out and heat it up the rest of the week. Bob Larson's up next keeping us up to date through the rest of the morning into the afternoon. I'm AccuWeather meteorologist seeing divorce WBZ Boston's NewsRadio. Alright, really nice job throughout this entire storm. We appreciate your time and expertise. Dean DeVore. Winter’s Not Over Yet; Snow Expected Friday In Boston Area

"Now look at the four day WBZ. AKI Weather forecast. We've got a lot to unpack here in the next several days, Here's meteorologist in DeVore. Yeah, we're flipping around from kind of spring to winter and then back to good spring. Here is spring arrives. Remember the equinoxes Saturday? We've got some snow on the last full day of winter finds that it looks like we're going to see rain moving tomorrow. Get heavy tomorrow night and then flip over to some snow first thing Friday morning. It's probably a 34 hour period. It looks like in the modeling first thing Friday morning, then could put down and ends too as much as three. In some areas. It's gonna be slushy and slippery as those temperatures are nearer, just below freezing will only get up to near 40. Then Friday, behind the storm with real fields, teens and twenties at least Jeff by Saturday. It's in the mid forties and mid fifties. I think by Sunday today kind of nondescript some clouds and temperatures near 50 low fifties before that rain arrives tomorrow, then flips over to snow. Friday morning will keep up to date as we get closer to that event right here on WBZ. Boston's news rating is still dealing with some stubborn clouds here in Boston 34

How Do Roly-Poly Bugs Work?

"Potato boats pillbox doodlebug, really police. They looked like a gray shrimp crossed an Armadillo and they seem to have a different name everywhere. They're found though the scientific name for these armor-plated little creatures is armed lithium vulgarity. With twelve known varieties of roly-poly bugs found in the United States alone these tiny crustaceans inhabit the northern and central parts of the country as well as many dark damp places across the world, and yes, they aren't insects, but crustaceans like crab lobster. They're the only stations that have adapted to living completely on land, though like their other station cousins, they breathe through Gills, so they have to keep to areas with plenty of rain or groundwater, and even then prefer damp spaces where the sun can't dry them out. And while you may not love having a cool dozen of these little critters popout when you move a flowerpot Cheka crawlspace. They don't bite staying or carry disease, and there is a very real benefit to having them in your backyard garden. It all starts with the microbes within the confines of the Raleigh Police Innards these microscopic gut, flora and fauna help really police breakdown dead organic matter. Raleigh police. Are Detroit devore's meaning? They get their nutrients by eating stuff that other plants and animals leave behind decomposing plants that animals and poop. Scientists have shown the benefits of the Raleigh. Police Diet on soil. They positively affect the ecosystem that they're in by increasing the mineral content of the soil, essentially turning the waste, they eat into healthy soil. But, it's not just what roly-poly bugs add to the soil. It's what they take out to. It turns out that these guys don't mind heavy metals. After studying the composition of their insides, scientists found that roly-poly bugs can crystallize stuff like lead, cadmium and arsenic in their guts, both preventing these toxic materials from harming themselves and taking them out of the environment. Meaning a construction site contaminated with heavy metals could effectively be cleaned by a bunch of hungry roly-poly bugs. Raleigh police will eat tender plant shoots if there is nothing else available, but it's not their preferred diet, and these bugs will also eat the eggs of some insects that are more inclined to gardens and crops, so they could be a great form of pest control and are sometimes used organic farming. So if you're noticing roly-poly, party taking place in your backyard. Don't worry. These little guys are doing a lot of the heavy lifting involved in creating the healthy soil that will help your garden Thri.
