Notre Dame, well, what did they do? They committed a cardinal sin. I warned against it. They actually lost the game. They both had the Fighting Irish and we lost on that one. Jawah Jordan, 143 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Louisville Cardinals. Good win. Texas was lost to Oklahoma, 34-20. Unbelievable. Some cite bad experiences like churches that showed intolerance to their beliefs or those aggressively soliciting money when parishioners were unable to pay. Ryan Burge of Eastern Illinois University says the rise of the nuns over the past five decades has been dramatic and the trend is still going up. In 1972 only 5 % of Americans identified as atheist, agnostic or nothing in particular. Today it's 30 % of Americans identify as nuns and amongst the youngest adult Americans it's probably over 45 % of Americans. I'm Walter Ratliff. Days after a deadly missile strike killed dozens in a small ukrainian village UN and local investigators searched for answers. Excavators cleared the rubble of the only cafe that existed in the village of Hrotsa. Dozens of people had gathered in the cafe for a dead soldier's wake when a Russian missile struck. Danielle Bell who led the UN team that visited Hrotsa said that initial investigations have indicated that all of those killed were civilians and the target of the busy cafe was also clearly civilian. They can ease arch Manning in. But for Texas and Oklahoma, this is a big year because you're not just doing the big 12 farewell tour. You have to recruit your roster and start to build your roster to get ready to play in the SEC because it's not going to be nearly as easy as the big 12. And both schools did recruit well, but I think there's more pressure on Texas. It's more visible, really excited to see what they go to, what happens when they go to Tuscaloosa. We remember how close that game was last year. What about Oklahoma? What's happening with Brent venables? Team other than good recruiting. What's this team going to look like? Because last year, it was terrible. It was. And the defense was bad and they lost four of their last 6 and they've got three 5 star recruits coming in that I think are going to be leaders of the future, but in the present tense, Dylan Gabriel has to stay healthy. Their defense has a lot of guys came in through the transfer portal. So I think that transition long-term wasn't a bad thing. It's just the shock value of seeing them lose so many game last year. They're schedules pretty friendly up close early in the season. I don't think we'll have a really true read on Oklahoma, until they play Texas again. And that's certainly not a game they can lose 49, nothing again. So good for him. Here are the college quarterbacks I'm excited to watch this fall. Keaton slovis at Pittsburgh is going to be awesome. Can not wait for him. I think Keenan slow this got kind of a raw deal with what happened at USC. He got hurt he lost his job, they got a new coach, whatever. He went somewhere, he was wanted, where they got a good offensive line, a good team around him, and I'm excited to watch Keaton's love as a Pittsburgh a lot. You mentioned it, I'll repeat them. See just drought at Ohio State. It's going to be awesome, Bryce young and Alabama, Caleb Williams at USC for sure. I think he's the best quarterback in college football, frankly. Will levis at Kentucky. Sure. It's funny both quarterback from Oklahoma last year went to a version of USC. Cable Williams went to Southern California and spends a rattler went to the other USC, South Carolina. I can not wait to watch Spencer Rattler play at South Carolina. "I'm very excited to watch JK or next year in college football. I have three honorable mentions. Dylan Gabriel is a transfer from Central Florida to Oklahoma. It's going to be interesting there. Quinn ewers, the transfer from Ohio State to text, this is interesting. He could start at Texas and he actually got Casey Thompson to leave. No one wanted to compete there. It seems like he's the next quarterback in Texas. I'm excited to watch that. And cade club Nick, the he's going to be a freshman at Clemson. Could start as a freshman. They need a quarterback at Clemson. DJ we on lay was kind of a bus last year and I am hopeful. We'll see. Cade club Nick and Quinn ewers. I don't know if they're gonna play. I do not have a fantasy football team this year. My first fantasy lists seasons. Since i was fifteen years old and to shawn watson blocked me and the entire texans franchises embarrassment so for the first time maybe ever in my life college football is somehow more exciting to me than the nfl. Even though i don't have a team it's more enjoyable without all the dread and the shame and second hand embarrassment So over the weekend i fully dug in. I rode notre dame minus seven. I was one of many. Who was reminded that mackenzie milton is a person at all. And i lost that bet and i didn't even care because watching this dude. Mackenzie milton come out was insane. So for those of you who didn't watch the game or haven't heard this story yet mckinsey milton. It was a tiny white dude on florida state. That was a top ten heisman candidate in two thousand eighteen and then he had a a horrible injury like his exploded his leg. Yes he played for. Ucf and was playing. I believe in the bowl game in tampa and literally his leg. This is like way worse than the dak injury or like one of the worst leg injuries in football history. Alex smith equivalent. Yes and he hasn't played football since Like his leg died on the field it was it was over. He returned to football for the first time since that injury in two thousand eighteen on saturday or sunday whenever the game was there was weird schedule this weekend because of the long holiday But one of the doctors that worked on him said that he would never walk in without a pretty severe pain after probably in. This dude is slang and get out there on the field. Like just one of the coolest most inspiring sports stories. I've heard in a minute. Like i was sitting there watching him. The first possession. He drove down the field and scored a touchdown. And i was thinking about. What is it about this moment. That i would have missed when i was a little kid. And it's the amount of work that went into him. Getting back there that i would never understood as a child that like now. I'm looking at it. And the reason i'm like you know my hair stand up on my arm is because i know this dude worked. I three years to give back for this one moment where everybody in. The stadium is holding their breath the entire drive because he's getting drilled every play because he's like five six or something or at least that's what he looks like out there it looks more than drew brees and it just. It's just amazing. The he didn't just say fuck this. I'm gonna go to student or a normal college career and find a job right. Yeah he he was still on. Ucf and eventually you heat this whole time. He was like. I'm going to get back into coaching. Staff like yeah. We're not gonna plan for that. You try in the mackenzie 'cause the doctors were like. That's yeah that's probably not going to have. Yeah and he kept trying eventually the. Ucf okay. yeah you're like. We're going with this guy. I dylan gabriel. Still and so. He transferred to fsu and the coaches. Hey we're not guaranteeing you spot because you being idiot again. He was back at this point. He's still recovering. It could have gone back out. There got hit once and been like. He is a phenomenal quarterback. And i hope that they go with him over this other dude because like what a story man you could hear it in. I could feel it in the stadium and you could see in his teammates. It was it was it was wild and then oh by the way. The seminoles covered as was him. Good teams win. Great teams cover. They fucked me. And i lost money but good for them but the commentators came close to making me ride the full roller coaster from like i mean literally was rooting against my own money and for mckinsey milton during that the first drive and then fifteen minutes later they had the commentators had soured the entire story to the point that i was like hoping this medical miracle gets trucks ticked. Because they wouldn't shut up. It was bad it would. And i know it's a crazy story. It's really cool. But the way that they overdid it like the sort of the amount of theatrics that i got. It made it to where people watching like okay. Are they exaggerating well. How much this kid had to do to combat like. That's how sort of over the top they made. It feel like they didn't do a great job of delivering it in a way that the audience would nearly understand to the point that it got annoying for me the call him a medical miracle. Yeah which even if he is like come on guys. It's a football game. Yeah people are. You know there's people who are like real world issues going on here like i hate that about sports. It's one thing that kind of weird me out like. We pretended sort of the end. All be all in. When we're in the midst of it like with the commentating. Everything and and i get it. I get it. It's supposed to be a distraction that helps us with the realities the harsh realities of the world. But like i. It's one of the things. I loved about the demonstrations that that started in the nfl that caused so much backlash because it was like. What the fuck do we act like. This is removed from everything else. It's not directly connected. We should be embracing that like sports. And life are very much intertwined in our society and everything that we have gone so ross watches. ted lhasa. I think he'll probably be in the room this year, but I think next year if he comes back, we'll have a very, very strong chance. So we just don't know what we're going to get with this mouth on offense, and a lot of people are speculating that Might not be as good as we think it is just because of what happened in Auburn, But you know, I got high hopes, and I'm so pumped up for the season to start. I think that makes a really good point about that, By the way you would have. If I were to have to bet on the futures of Dylan Gabriel winning the Heisman. It would be the 2022 not the 2021 Heisman for a few of the points that he made that is Year two of the mouse on offense this year. I would expect some bumps early. Let's say I haven't looked at their schedule next year. But also there's a chance the college football playoff goes to 12 teams in 2022, which means If Dylan Gabriel has an outstanding season this year, kind of like Mackenzie Milton did in 2017. He finished eighth in the Heisman voting that year, rides the momentum into 18 Milton Milton Road that momentum into 18, where he finished sixth, actually, and then Dylan Gabriel did something similar. But you, C F is in the mix to make the playoffs. I think that's when he has a chance to really capture it. But he has to, and I just want to add. Go ahead.
