"It's just incredibly popular and makes a lot of money. Yeah, but the difference is poor is not dependent on advertising. And what becomes interesting about the NFL is people will still advertise with their not credible product because normally the measure of your credibility is people's willingness to put the attach their brains to yours. And their name to it, a 100%. A 100%. Yeah. And so it's not surprising that the cowboys and the niners did what they did because people, I mean, the brand loyalty of the brand attachment or the things that it reminds us of, you can hearken back to Emmitt Smith and Alvin Harper and Jerry Rice and you go back to Montana and Freddie Solomon. And all of it, whatever. And Dwight Clark. And so it's one of those things where we sit and watch and I think the only thing that I really took out of this was the issue with football has always been football itself. But don't call this an isolated incident. Don't treat this like this with some massive overreaction to a one time fluke injury. Let's not do that. That is completely disingenuous and it's a historical. Well, one of the more frustrating things in the discussion is really that something that is very obvious here, football is wild dangerous into the question is when does it demonstrate yourself to be too dangerous? So what the level is for people. That turning into some sort of culture war. It's basically treated like a tax on football. It's weird. It's treated like their attacks on white people, even though they ain't even really the ones playing no more. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah, that's a piece that really got to me because I was like, listen, here's another piece of this that I am considering while watching all of this, which is the number of black bodies that are out there getting torn to shreds who don't even have a chance. At being part of this $18 billion industry, if they weren't getting torn to shreds. The Josh McDaniels is in the exact tailors of the world and the Sean mcvay. They're not getting torn to shreds being part of this $18 billion industry. They are not the ones on the line. So when people say, why are you going to bring race into it? Because race is in the middle of it. Of who gets to be part of this and at what price and at what cost? And come training camp

"Was a lost a lot when they started that season one and two, and they finished 13 and three ahead. And next thing I know Dwight Clark is wearing a fur coat of city. Thanks, Gino Earl Cooper spiking the football in the end zone. All right. The connection has been made with our favorite NFL network in Snyder. Insider Ian Rapoport. He goes by rap sheet. He knows it all. All he tells all in. Welcome back to your San Francisco home your West Coast home. Hey, brother, the Murph in Max. How are you, man? Happy football Season, man. It is so good to be back with you guys and Not that anything should over chat overshadow the fact that we're going to be having record chats again, but it is also football season. Um And I am extremely excited to that. I mean, you guys mentioned 40. Niners Lions? Yeah, which is, you know, not the marquee game at all. And I'm like, all right, like that's going to be a really good one. Let's go like every single game. I'm just I'm all in your all your even in a lion's Niners. I love well, let's start there then, man. Well, first of all, you have a good summer. Everything, by the way, just Condolences on your Mets. Um oh, man. What a mess. No, no, no. Oh, Okay. Okay. Acting. Any condolences I've done yet. You're going again yesterday. Okay, We've done a little bit of a hot streak. I'm not burying anyone. I know it's football season and we're all in on that right? The Mets are still fighting and I am not accepting any bouquets. Well, Peter Alonso, two bombs last night met 3.5 out in the wild card for back in the East. You got Alonso. You get by the way. Where is Indian? Where's a rap sheet? With the hole? Thumbs down movement, like as a fan like, Yeah, I hate it. So I don't know if this is like controversial at all. Yeah, I am. I wouldn't say I'm anti doing because you know, fans really do have the right to kind of do what they want, but it's definitely not cool, and I never understood why your favorite You go watch your favorite team, and all you want to do is tell them that they shock. I mean, I get to Europe special like these are also isn't that the definition of a Mets fan right there? I mean, I support the team. Regardless, you're old school. All right? I I would prefer that they win. Um, but I'm not going to go tell the individual players that the terrible while in the stand so You know everything. Life has consequences. So if you boo a player and you make them feel terrible about himself by brewing, and he's allowed to react, Look at this, So I think that's okay. I don't know if that's a hot take or not. Yes, that's why I asked. I got a good answer. Alright, Good stuff,.

"I know. there's some canadian football that factors in. Yeah well so my the. I i think it drafted so back to twelve rounds and i signed as a free agent with the saints and They had by a bear. And dave wilson and another frigid core by like me come in the same year from two lane but but that team was loaded on defense but i kind of it didn't matter who they had core back i wasn't making the team and then so i went back to school. I got cut Probably the third or so preseason game never played in preseason game it was back in school. Fish now might agree and then hoping coach. You know whatever. I was doing there for a few weeks and then the. Nfl strike happened in nineteen eighty seven. So i think they played a game or two and then the players on strike and then a few teams had called me. One of which was the falcons. So i played for them for those three games during the strike season during the strike which was only three games. Yeah right so she you're scab. I was a scam so How to go playing for the falcons for this three games. Well we we we lost. It was fine so they're the quarterback that time was getting japan reports went to arizona state. I think they'd won the rose bowl his his that senior of his and so he. I were the two quarterbacks and we played the steelers lost. We played the forty niners and then about half of their team and cross including montana and dwight clark can defensive players And we almost beat them and yeah so playing a team that had a lot of the at regular players famous. Yeah we had one guy two guys in fact two linebackers one guy with someone you probably never heard of joachim acting last name But then tim green your name So with the syracuse and became if you could play for.

"Have to tell me you have to have great hands great fee and you have to run routes against one of the most freakish and one of the most athletic group of people in the world that anybody's ever seen it's crazy and you're doing it for less money. Honestly it's kind of it's kind of criminal in. My opinion is kind of criminal what they do too tight ends. It really is because honestly tight ends need to be more respected. They just do. It's it's not cool to see that. You know all these people who are quarterbacks and all these position players who who are water stabers and defensive ends making millions of dollars in the nfl and you know what you can say. Okay well those. Are the main money grabs. Those are the main positions that make the most money in the nfl. The quarterback the offensive tackle specifically the left tackle who protect the quarterback blindside and the defense event. And maybe the linebacker. But you gotta look at it as there's three major positions in the nfl that get paid the most money. The quarterback left tackle. Who protect the quarterback blindside and the defensive end. Who gets after the quarterback because people either want a quarterback who came do great things and who can lead your team. They want a guy who has the ability to pack. Protect the quarterback's blindside and they also want a guy on defense who can get after the quarterback. Because obviously that's all it is. That's all football is to be honest but the people that are getting the least respect in the league are the tight ends and it's crazy to me because two tight ends do the most the tight ends do the most and greg olsen is exactly right i think they need to get more respect because honestly you're paying these guys less than average less than league salary you're paying these guys seven million a year just to do exactly what you pay guys fifteen to twenty to twenty five thirty million dollars. Honestly i mean. I don't know if you saw this but saints to sign a guy for. I think he was sixteen. Point five million there right tackle just nap and you're telling me that you can't play tight end. Who does that and also has to run route to perfection and have great hands. Joy agree with greg. Olsen i agree with greg olsen on why and how tight ends are the respected position in the game of football. They really all because titans have to do everything they have to do. Everything they have to be. Just as as alignment they have to have the hands just like a running back just like a wide receiver. And they have to have the footwork into speed to get by linebackers cornerbacks. It's crazy what you ask a tight end to do and it's not easy folks. It's not easy to do. What tied ends have to do in any sport in any division or in any type of football whether it's high school college nfl european. It's not easy what these guys have to do. And these guys are probably the face of the franchise. I'm talking about the guys. Who are the top tight ends in the league. I'm talking about travis kelsey. i'm talking about george kittle. i'm talking about darren. Waller i'm talking about mark andrews. I'm talking about kyle pits. These guys are physically gifted and they have all the tools necessary to be great tight ends in the league and if you look at the great tight ends throughout history look at the great ends like mike ditka look at the great titans like shannon sharpe. Look at the great tight ends like dwight clark who he was a wide receiver. But i consider him his tied-in look at tony gonzalez. These guys put their body on the line weekend day in day 'em practice in training camp in the games and they have to do everything on the side of the football to block the to catch that run routes after great feat that to be smart. We have to be intelligent. They have to be the leaders of the team and just crazy to me how they don't get paid as much as other people. They should get paid more. No way i'm going to play tight end in the nfl. For seven million dollars. that's crazy. When i see often tackles cleaned pay fifteen million dollars and i see why receivers can you pay north of twenty. That is crazy but speaking of one of the most disrespected positions in the nfl. We talked about the tight end position. There's also another position who i think not might be the most disrespected position in the nfl. So if you want to hear about that we've got you covered on the other side because it's juicy and though some big time names who tuned in hayme chimed into this debate. It's the home depot. Podcast i'm brian iglesia statement..

And then they got them, Mike, while this court that toe tag swag in the corner end zone I love so much money that day. Yeah. I mean, I already know I can never forget that game. Just because I lost so much more. They got lost my rent on that day. Oh, damn. Well, that Z. "It was really the best post Roger Stall back team that the Cowboys had from that era. And I know that I know Dallas loss of the Eagles and 80, and they lost the Redskins and 82, but the best Anyway. Team was at 81 team that had to go on the road, and nobody knew at that time. How good San Francisco really was. The funny thing about that is that Dwight Clark between Clark in the back of that year. Huh? What's that? Dwight Clark, making the catch of the back of the end zone? Yeah, but the lion beat the Lions pee post teams that year and people I don't think people realize that And actually the lions disgraced my Minnesota Vikings at the end of the year, and all they have to do is hold serve against Tampa Bay. And can't that they may 2 plays the whole games. I got a scoop and score from Dave Love and in a bomb from for two Kevin House, and next thing you know, the Lions one from Chance. Two jumps in a blink of the week, so But, you know, I think back to that game. That game was incredible. And it's like I said, I have a long lasting effect. But that Lions game when they beat the Cowboys that year, Eddie Mary kicked. I don't It was close to a 50 our bomb. And in those days, you know coke tickers. One automatic from that distance, and I remember I was in the military academy and when Eddie Mary hit that bomb Uh, half the barracks was screaming that loud for joy because you know, the Lions had beaten the Cowboys because obviously in Philly, the Cowboys were hated, but, uh, just a lot of great memories. You're talking about the myth that he had against San Francisco was close to 50. I thought it was a lot shorter than that. Were you talking about? I'm talking about when the Lions upset the Cowboys in 81 cause, Like I said, the Cowboys or the Lions beat both those teams that year. They pull in the regular season. Right? Right, right? Yeah. Maybe they beat Baby 1000 mid season and and and they beat the San Francisco in the opener out. Nobody knew how good San Francisco was going to be A obviously, you know, especially in the anyone opener, but it's just funny that That was one of the most exciting games that years when the Lions upset the Cowboys around mid season, maybe closer Thanksgiving, but I was just great stuff. I just have a great memory of that game. But It really brings me back to that NFC championship game of that year, But I don't know, guys. What is that? I was talking to me is about Warriner. What is what is his deal is he's just I thought he was going to the Jags. That's not a possibility at this point or I thought that's why he was leaving Michigan. All right, Look, it's on him. Jim and Jim's decision, um and he wanted to move in a different direction. And as I as I keep trying to tell everyone seems like he went from the looks of things look like we're moving in a youthful situation. That's what we're doing. Well, okay, well, I hope sure does the job and lastly, I do want to bring this up. They definitely should have went for it down there. This way. They get two cracks at it. And here's the thing if they don't make the first down You cannot open up the playbook Tom Brady or No Tom Brady. He really wasn't playing that great towards the end of the game, so I don't think they opened up the playbook when they're pinned back deep, and they're probably going to get the ball back and have another shot. Now, as it turned out where they ended up getting the ball, you can open up the playbook. Now everything's at your disposal, and it's much more difficult to get the ball back. So I think that was a major faux pas. That they didn't go forward down there and not to mention should've ran the damn ball. But guess what? It's no sweat off. My back is I hate that team, and I'm glad they threw the flag when you got a jersey stretching from what from 2 ft. From one guy to the defender. They're going to call it every time. It's about time. Green Bay gotta call against himself. Go blue. You guys take care of everything. Green Bay Green Bay, or nobody else had anything to complain about about that call. The only thing that I heard people trying to justify Jamie is saying that well, they had let him play all game law. But, yeah, they let him play all game long. He's still have a shirt. It was, it was evident. I mean, yeah, the flag was a little late, but he had to make that call. Let's go to J. J and Lincoln Park 734 1918 50. What's up? J. J. Have a nation to Dobler's that look down now that we don't have modern sports going down there. I don't remember.

Not yet. What you tweeted After today, just carve you fools up. I just want to get in between anything else. Yeah. Want actors everywhere. I mean, I think guys like you know, DiCaprio and pit will be studying. Great guy. Great call studying Lillard's look is that he exerted so much power in Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, That's so true, too, because I think in acting class you're supposed to like you moat all these kind of different like, you know, feelings and emotions without words. Right? So that's great Call Brad Pitt can't come to the phone Right now. He's busy watching Dame Lillard for some fashion tips and the Wizards backcourt. I raised it as an option because someone said there was no contest. So I said, Well, what about dealing Westbrook? Yeah. You gotta pictures. It's just an atom staring at him. I loved it something else about that. Murphy goes on so long. I actually thought like the they might have been using a still shot just like cut from the interview. But then I watched him He moved his mouth play and he moved his mouth. I'm like, Damn, he's this is real. This is like a real thing. Really Like I really loved. I don't see how it would be today. That's a great call. Not after what I just skillful sir. The surgeon's knife oven. Adam Copeland there. All right, moving on to the next one. Here. I was the last time you thought about Chad Ochocinco. It's been a while. It's been a while, but I was I was kind of a fan of his great receivers. They're very entertaining Dude on the field and then another wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who was with the Broncos, right copes for years. I believe Brandon Marshall's, right. Yeah, I think it was a jet at 1.2. Why Cinco and well because he appears in the next clip here. He's on Brandon Marshall's podcast called I Am Athlete. Okay. Name in the pocket. On, and apparently they got to do a heated argument about whether eating McDonald's every day affected ochocinco career. Take a Listen. I can't talk long, genuine meat because my black ass so that's out the door. Last season. I played look at the number of targets when I put them great numbers and with the number of targets when I put bad numbers in my last year, your common sense do your homework. No, no, Sit down. No, no, no, no, You can't just say that because you got to hear my side Because every time we talked, you just don't know where your son gets the same way this food have to do you think about it? I'm about to talk to you. Sit down, Sit down Conversation. So LeBron James. Don't talk to me up LeBron James using Mother exam. Why? Why he's the benchmark Tom Brady is the benchmark warden Glynn. Why is Tom Brady 43 years old thermometer that airplane with longevity When I got getting home we're having me not making? No, because it lets you talk to me about players that I'm saying that like I'm saying to you No, I don't wanna hear that. Wow, by the way, what wasn't sure if that was ochocinco on Brandon Marshall Army and copes talking about openers? Seriously, guys, That's so listen, So that's what your sicko he's not happy. I guess he apparently he's trying to get up and leave a couple times to sounded like it. Yeah, well, guess what? Molly LeBron James. Yeah. You hear about LeBron? Guess what? We're not done. There's a part two years apart. Let's go. Just going crazy. Marshall continue argue over whether eating McDonald's every day affected oceans psychos career, I would say this Year. Five Chad Johnson before you was over here, four in year three, and you're six and you're seven and eight were all great Tournament field. I turned the film and you were in your prime. And what I'm saying to you is if you're if you were your lifestyle if you were eating better, and if you were sleeping better just listen. Listen, You gotta listen to me. What time do I go to bed? Do I club? I do. I drink you're telling McDonald's is the reason I don't know what got into my were you talking about? Do you understand that your brain would understand Brady Brady Science stuff. I definitely know Definitely not. I definitely I think. Oh, just cigarettes a tremendous amount of pride in his career. And he was upset that you know whatever. It didn't bring in a Super Bowl championship or anything, And he didn't wanna hear Brandon Marshall tell him to eat. McDonald's was the reason he was like targets and things like that, But off the field stuff he's like I screwed up. I think Brandon Marshall is a serious as a heart attack, saying that the diet did matter. By the way I loved when I was a singer brought in, I guess his wife from the background Do it. What time do I go to bed? What time I gotta pay the best club. I do. I drink. Hey, do I hold you, coach? Do I gotta work? Gotta what do you get me for? What do you give me for? Ochocinco yelling for his wife to check. And when you give me for Murph, check with Candace. Not fat. You know that better check with Candace. Totally check without your sick little check with Candace. Shut away, uses ochocinco. You know what Tom Brady would say. He's going. He's in the playoffs. Tom Brady would say Brandon Marshall's right. Oh, Tom, but right now, Tom Brady's eating a fistful of roots or something. He just pulled out of the ground. Yeah, that's all he does. He's like dirt roots alcohol. That's the rest in peace. Our dear friend number 87. Dwight Clark, don't forget. I believe there's shot to him during Super Bowl Week in, uh, in Detroit, just knocking back when these burgers no clocking him back. You know what I mean? So there was a time when These guys did you know, I don't know. Maybe try would've played two more years if he didn't eat Wendy's. I don't know, but there was a time. Yeah, that's just the way it used to be. It's hard to explain that to this generation does everybody. There's so much information about nutrition that we didn't We didn't have back then. But you're right count the number of times you went to McDonalds is a kid versus the man of times. You brought your kids to McDonald's. Oh, my God could probably count on one hand.
