A highlight from HUGE NEWS XRP vs. SEC Over?! (Jobs Report Higher Than Expected)
"Good morning, everybody. It is time to discover crypto. It is Friday. It is Friday, October 6th. It is 11 .31 a .m. 10 .31. We're talking about the Nova Scotia time. I believe that's the furthest east island in Canada, folks. That was for you, all seven viewers from that cold island. Good morning and happy Friday, says Grand Roofing. Shout out to Grand Roofing. Grand Roofing, let us know your town. We want to give you a shout out and then maybe put some solar rays power and panels on roofs and then mine Bitcoin against their will. Just kidding. We don't want that, of course. Piper or Sawtooth, we're all having a good time, folks. We're going to talk about SEC. The SEC coming after XRP. Are they putting in the towel? Maybe. Also, SEC going after Elon Musk. What's going on with them after that? Jobs Report are in. Also, SPF stuff. And Thor. We got some Thor news. Now, Drew, you're big on the Thor chain. What are your thoughts on that just before we get into it? Oh, yeah, I warned about it yesterday. Remember, there's been a lot of funds that have been known to be part of hacks and exploits that have been moved through Thor. I was worried about a shutdown and it looks like Thor chain saw that potential and they're doing some maintenance to make sure they stay in compliance. 23 hours, 50 minutes ago, literally, we're saying, watch out, guys. The intelligence agencies are not going to like this. As it gets bigger, they're going to come the after it next day. Folks, we're always ahead of the curve. That's why we're starting early. That's why we're getting this content out early. I'm going to put out a short on the SEC and Elon Musk. That should be pretty good as well. Well, the hit merch, I still got it. I still got the hat. I got the hoodie over there. I took the hoodie off because I got the nice button up on today. Why do I keep dropping things? The hat. The pumpkin doesn't. Can we zoom out? I didn't want to stay on there. I tried this morning. It's just not happening. All right. There we go. Well, it's a weird black pumpkin anyways. I mean, what are these? Can you eat this? Well, that costs seven dollars and you just ruined it. That wasn't edible. All right, let's get a. OK, now we have spit on the floor. Good start to the show. Good start to the show, everybody. By the way, I'm Tim. You didn't introduce me, so. Good start. Good morning, Tim. Yeah, thank you, Drew. Look, I had to take a bite out of the topics today. I had to take a bite out of this pumpkin. Yes. All right. Let's get Tim. How are you doing today? I don't mean to overlook you like the hotel Johnny's from. Johnny's out today, but how are you doing today? I'm doing good. Hopefully my voice is not echoing like a maniac as it was yesterday. Hopefully the TA is a little clearer and you only get to hear it once. Sometimes you like to hear it twice, but maybe not that close together. But I'm doing good, Deezy. How are you doing? I'm doing great. Thor chain is an OG crypto. Was it Silk Road built on it? I'd have to look at maybe the underlying code. You know, maybe I'd have to look at this good point there. So good to that. Drew mentioned the show Dig In or Bug Out. I think that's what it was called. Is that the channel? No, that is on. You want to explain that, Drew? Yeah, it's Buy In or Bug Out. It's on the blockchain basement. We air those every Thursday. Just riffing on hypothetical situations, scenarios, kind of what your knee jerk reaction would be to EMPs, aliens showing up, maybe Kamala is your president, figure it out. Give us some fun scenarios that you would like to game out. You wake up, you know, think of like a Walking Dead situation, just a random, random scary scenario, asteroid hurling towards earth. Maybe that's one. I don't think we've done asteroid yet. So asteroids coming, 24 hours left to live. Can we do that? I think that's a good one. That's a pretty fun one. That's a good one. I like that one. So maybe that'll be one. Throw out some other suggestions you would like to see, just crazy scenario, game it out. What do you want? You know, look, I'm gonna go ahead and say, Drew's an expert at this stuff. What do you like the experts, maybe a novice, just have some fun ideas or bounce off each other. There's no expert at being prepped. You can only try your hardest and then, you know, sleep well at night knowing you did your dance. Well, Tim, you were an Eagle Scout, right? I was never an Eagle Scout. My brother was. I got to Life. Life. I think. Okay, the Eddie Murphy movie. So is that like, was that a badge? It was like, yeah, it was like the thing right before Eagle. I don't know. And no one better touch Bernie Max. What kind was it? Biscuit? I can't remember. Cornbread. Don't touch Bernie Max. Cornbread. Alright, let's see here. Let's get into the crypto market cap, folks. Alright, let's get into the show, folks. What are the coins doing? What's Bitcoin doing? That's what I want to know. Well, Bitcoin's heading down, folks. It is down 1 .3 % to the downside. Ethereum is down 0 .7%. BNB down 0 .7%. XRP down 1%. The entire market cap is 0 .28%. 24 -hour volume, $38 billion. Gas, I think it was Steve -O shouting it out. Gas was as low as 8 Gwei about 3 hours ago, now coming in at 14 Gwei. We keep looking. Solana down 1 .6%, but Cardano relatively holding strong here. Now, Solana is definitely a better weak pump here. It's 4 % to the 14%, but looking pretty good. Cardano for the daily there. Dogecoin also showing some strength. It is only down 0 .3%, but TonCoin moving on up. It is up 3%. Litecoin also moving up. Shoutout to Tom Crown. How is Tom? I need to reach out to Tom, see how Tom's doing. He hasn't been on in a while. Avalanche is up 6 .2%. So Avalanche looking good. Might even see it in the top gainers. I think we will. Yeah, I'm going to put an early bet that is going to be at least in the top three. Bernie Mac taught Crimson Caravan what a certain thing was. How did he teach? You know what? Don't even tell me. I don't even want to know. Bernie Mac had a great family show. Did you ever watch that show, Tim? No. I would recommend going back and maybe if you ever want to do a rewatch. That was a pretty good one. The Bernie Mac Show, I think it was called. I watched a lot of My Wife and Kids. Okay. That was a good one. Okay. I'll say anything Bernie Mac's in, he is the funniest part by far, even if he has like a 30 -second segment. All right, let's look into the biggest gainers. All right, we got a newer coin coming into the ranks here. It's called Tokenize Exchange TKX, rank number 81. I don't think it was in there as recently as like two weeks ago. Let's see. Yeah, I don't think it was in there folks. So yeah, this is going to be a newer coin, a newer entrant into the region here into the realm of the top 100 gamers. Then number two is Avalanche. So the Avax fans are feeling good. EOS junkies do rule. You got it right. TonCoin fans also feeling good. They're up 3%. GMX, then Mina Protocol, all right, was one of the biggest losers now coming in as a big gainer here. Render also moving up. Leo up. Uniswap up. Injective up. Axie Infinity and Quant. Tim, do you own any Quant? No, it's one that's going to make its way to my portfolio though. Just to me, it's not time to start diving into all those coins. Quantitatively speaking, that is. Yeah, I Quant to own it though. Tom's feeling better. Okay. He was all right. Good. Yeah. I know he had a, he had a little health thing. Wayne brothers underrated show. Okay. Okay. Yeah. The Wayne brothers are funny. I still want to know what's your crazy scenarios, folks. So, you know, let us know. Give us some good suggestions on that one as well. We'll have some fun with it. All right. Now let's look at the biggest losers. Biggest loser right now. It's Loki's brother. It's Thor. Thor's down. The rune is down. Rune is down 10 % even here. Erased all the gains for the week. It was up 1 .5%. Now it is down 8 .5%. Rollbit. Woo. Also down a bit. Wouldn't be a complete list without some of Deezy's coins in there. Rollbit down 8 .7, but that's just mostly peeling off healthy gains for the week. It was up 20%. Bitcoin SV. BSV is down 4 .3. Radix is down. Phantom Galatron. Then another Deezy coin. We got 8 coin down 2 .9%. I need to restake that. Oh man. Down to a dollar. That is looking rough. Stacks also down a bit is down 2 .7%, but still up for the week. Mantle up or I'm sorry. Mantle down. Chili's down. Taser's down. Immutable X down. Tim, any of these you see on sale, maybe thinking about getting me, I like rune, but I agree with Drew's thesis and I, you know, I it's, it seems like a healthy thesis. but Yeah, it's one that right now, if you go to the chart, Drew, it's a good price on the chart. There's a lot of things coming in. It's technically dropping a little below this line, but I'm on the hourly chart here. We've got an oversold flash come in here with the green triangle, our MVP oscillator, which these green histograms are just screaming to buy. We're overextended on everything. And you're seeing again, we're wrestling with this blue line, but this could just be a wick. If people start buying it back up, we could found another, a third bounce of support here on a rising level support. We're in a bull trend right now, higher highs, higher lows on rune. So it is a little risky. I'm not saying it's not a risk, but I am saying I'm seeing hourly chart kind of screaming a little overextended to the downside on rune. Okay. All right. A great breakdown. Can you show that line one more time? It is right at that line, right? It's a little bit below it, but wicks that happens all the time. What matters is where we close and let's see how that happens. Yeah. All right. All right. Great, great chart there. Great, great work there, Tim. All right. Before we get into the sec, tap out, cloud of dust covering the earth where you only get survived by lab grown foods. Okay. So cloud of dust covering the earth. What do you think a last moment to buy in before prices go up? That's going to be, if anyone could predict that EOS, they would be a trillionaire. That being said, my educated guess would be as we get closer to the having, I expect some, some fake outs and shakeouts. So it may look like you won't have any other chance, but I think there'd be one more opportunity after the having. Might be slightly higher than it is today. Might be slightly lower. I think there might be one more opportunity in the next seven months. Why not have a segment called DZ's coins? Maybe, maybe. That, that could be a point there. We have a video. There's a video coming out on Sunday. That's a little bit of DZ's coins. Oh, me and Rodney's. Oh yeah. Me and Rodney got a really good video where if I had a, $1 million, what would I do? Drew? How was that? Did I hit the notes there? Yeah. And I kept it going. I don't think that those notes register. Oh, that was perfect. Maybe that was perfect. Matt Maloney sure thinks so. Uh, SCC is retreating like DZ's. Nevermind. I wonder what you meant there. My wife and kids and Lopez show still get me laughing today. Uh, I, my only thing about the Lopez shows is fine. You know, one it's woke up all the kids, you know, you hear that music in the 3 a .m. It's George Lopez's, uh, I expressions, you know, he does a joke. Then he goes like after every little joke, it's true. It's not necessary, George. Uh, all right. Uh, C 90. Did you guys hear about the CO2 emission that is much, much worse than humans? And, uh, it's also equal to volcanoes. There's something that is emitting CO2 that is equal to volcanoes that was just discovered. It was not in any climate model. It's never been in any climate models just discovered. They're gonna have to go back. Basically every climate model is now bunk because this has not been explored. Do you guys know what it was? No rocks, what rocks, apparently there's so much rock cover on the globe. As rain hits it, there's a slight amount of erosion and that erosion creates CO2 emissions. So we're canceling rocks now. Yeah. We have to cancel rocks. What about Dwayne Johnson tax rocks? We taxed Dwayne, uh, no more fast and furious movies. Dwayne is done. You're going to have to pay it all to the government now. Yeah. So interesting. The, I thought that was interesting there. Um, so yeah, just climb, just be careful with the climate models, folks. All right. Uh, let's talk about the SCC though. SCC tapping out folks. It is tapping out, uh, explosive Bates. Oh man. We just getting started. Uh, KO Kev. Uh, look, we're not talking about DZs methane. Okay. And what that might be doing I got to admit. All right. Well, we zoomed in there. It was a little small. Okay. See, do you two have boomer eyes? No, I just, it was a small, I could read it. It was just a small, uh, what if a rock is a member of my family? Emotional will support rock. Okay. Yeah. There you go. Uh, pet rocks. You know, people have pet rocks. Like pets are members of the family. You're going to cancel it. If you adopted a pet rock, so you're on a list. Now you're basically on the list. You have to register. I guess maybe if it's the rain hitting it, just keep your pets inside and then they don't get rained on. They don't omit the, don't give them a bath either. All right. Uh, if we pay more, yeah, we need a rock tax. No more rock music. Guys, we can go all day, but it's time for us to talk about the SCC. SCC will drop all charges against ripple. According to Yassine Moberok, he's a founder of a crypto VC firm and he suggests they might withdraw their case to avoid negative exposure. He believes they use litigation to maintain in uncertainty the crypto space. Of course, the case started in December, 2020. He's the founder of a private equity firm focused on startups as dicer capital and believes that SCC could withdraw all accusations against ripple and Brad Garling house. According to him, it is not in their interest to have a trial where their corruption can be exposed for the claim that XRP has solidified clarity in the crypto market, which puts their agenda at risk. They will now move to in this case soon as possible. They can appeal to the second circuit circuit and continue to sustain this cloud of uncertainty on the whole industry litigation by itself, regardless of the outcome is the weapon. So litigation is the weapon. They need to move this to the second circuit here. The legal battle passed through multiple heated moments afterward. It peaked in July this year. Back then court ruled that most of the sales did not constitute an offer of investment contracts. They were unpleased with the decision and formally appealed it last month. However, Torres recently dismissed the request, granting them another landmark victory. Let's look at XRPs price. I want to see the 90 day chart because guys, this wasn't that long ago, but it feels, it feels like it was yesterday, right? This happened, okay. A month, two months, right? Guys, we're almost at 90 days. Look at this chart. Yeah. We're almost, it's going to be no longer on the chart. Then we have to go to 180 days. So we're almost at the three month mark. Does it feel like three months ago? no. No, All right. So, uh, technically it was on the 13th. We got the pump today's what the sixth, right? So we're essentially a week away. We're a week away from that. So, uh, yeah. Uh, a week away from three months folks is it doesn't feel like three months to me. Oh, how the time flies. Yeah. But things are somewhat exciting. Uh, been exciting here. That's for sure. Wouldn't y 'all say a little bit. Yeah. It's been a lot happening.

"Just pop a pill in your fine. But I say that jazz, but anyway. Yeah, so anyway, I went to get help. I got help for years. One of the things I did was I read a lot of books around the year 2000, I went and started reading books going online, learning how to get myself better. I was in the self help section a lot. I eventually gravitated more over to the business and career section. Because a lot of top CEOs want to learn how to prove their mindset the continents. So that's what I was reading books by so that navy seals. There's a mark divide he's got a book called unbeatable mind. He trains. He creates navy seals, isn't it? He's a navy seal himself all. And his book teaches you how they get their confidence, how they get their strong brainpower to go over and fight the bad guys. So I was reading books like that. And they helped me immensely. So one thing I try to tell people is that so you so you've got depression. So if that anxiety or whatever, and yes, you can't be cured just like that. You can't snap your fingers and you're cured. But there are parts of your brain that you can change. There aren't thought patterns, mindsets, leaves that we all have, and we can change them. We can grow and confidence. We can, because the old cliche, the old saying, knowing is half the battle, when I was a kid, GI Joe, the cartoon would always say that, knowing it's off the bottom. And it's I find it so true reading all these books, knowing all this stuff. So yes, I couldn't, it didn't make me better. It didn't fix me overnight, but having all that knowledge does help. For example, bullying verbal abuse, the book verbal judo, the gentle art of persuasion by George Thompson, Giza police officer, he teaches people, he teaches people how to deal with people with words, not weapons, and this book is this wonderful, and it's the best people skills book I've ever read. And he says so many people have never heard words of encouragement and praise. And lots of us just get stressed. No one's listening to us. And we just, it just builds up and then it bursts, he says, so often police when they deal with someone, the vast majority of people just need to be listened to. All the calls they go and they just need someone to listen to them to vent and get off their chest. He says, sometimes you have to use force, but oftentimes it's just let the guy then. So but anyway, he says, for example, bullying, there are so many people. He says, verbal abuse is rampant in our society. It's random. And tone of voice, I know Dwayne Johnson, when the pandemic first hit, he said he was a little shaky, and he said, you know, he was talking about his relationship, maybe with his wife, I think. And he said, you know, it's all the tone of voice. And I try to pay more attention to my tone of voice like, what's the tone of voice? Is there anger behind it? Is there a little bit of disgust in your voice or a little bit of hatred when you're talking to somebody? How does that come out? What does that other person think? About you. What do they think you think about them? And I really try to be conscious of tone of voice empathy, having kindness for other people.

"All that? It will. It will, yeah. I mean, as soon as they get together for OTAs, you think Jay Jay keeps going to be inside the building? Made. That ain't gonna happen. Well, Russ have an office on the second floor. I would say no. Will Rus be able to introduce different cadences during the course of the week? Yeah, no. We're running the four runner what we run. And you're going to be put in a position for you to have success based upon your skill set and the way I've evaluated your skill set. Yeah, I mean, it's pretty easy. You know, it's commonly, you know, I always say that the thing that fascinates me about this game is the juxtaposition of complexity and simplicity. It's a very complex game that's really simple. And champagne and put them in a position to say this is what we're doing. Let's go. So for the texture Nate, who always gets on me is saying I'm on Russ's payroll. Like, I'm part of Russ's team, which is flat out ridiculous, but all the excuses are gone. There's an adult in charge, a lot of the stuff that happened last year will not be allowed to happen this year, and an ounce on Russ. Right. Russ, your season's out at your career is at a crossroads. Do you want to go on to be one of the great quarterbacks of all time? Do you want to go down as you told Mark schlereth once that you want to go down as one of the great winners of all time? Yes. You want that? Or do you want your career to just. Flick her out in the next couple of years? It's up to you now. Yeah, well, you might say, you got away from a Seattle. Situation where you had tons of success, even though you didn't necessarily like exactly what you guys were running. And you got to kind of do it your way. Frank Sinatra, I did it my way. And guess what, your way sucked? 'cause you were no good. So, yeah, you need that. Hey, man, we all need coaching. We all need, we all need to understand a structure and have rules to follow and all those kind of things. So yeah, you got to experiment last year. And guess what? It turns out you're not good at it. So get back into a system. Jake's Shapiro brings us up to date at Denver sports dot com about how could we be in danger of not being able to see rocky's games locally? We already have the much documented altitude debacle going on with Comcast. Well, apparently Warner Brothers discovery which operates AT&T sports nets in the Denver Pittsburgh and Houston markets will fire file for chapter 7 liquidation if it can't reach deals with the teams that carries in those markets take back the broadcast rights. Are we going down, what is the path are we going down? When it comes to being able to watch our teams on TV. I really don't I really don't know what ends up happening with these local with a local markets. Whether it's baseball, baseball has become really a regional product, right? And so you got to have your own regional network. Now some of these teams are flush with money like in New York with a yes network and LA with whatever the Dodgers play on, but I don't know what happens to these smaller market teams. Look, today is coming. It's so obvious. If you want to see Yellowstone, you got to get paramount. Yeah. You want to see Jack Ryan, you got to get prime. It's all about the stream. It's all about buying and purchasing these different platforms to see what you want to see. And that's eventually what's going to come down to. You want to see the rockies, you're going to pay this. For a certain amount each month, you want to see the nuggets and avalanche, you're going to pay this. It's just going to be a complete. A la carte type menu that you're choosing from. I'll tell you what, the rockies would, I mean, how many people would pay to see the Rogers? Well, on TV. Wow. You know, that's part of the issue with the abs and nuggets and Comcast. Comcast is like, hey look, now wait a minute. You know, we're paying you a certain amount for games in which you guys were getting nothing. You're drawing nothing. And you're still getting a good deal. Now you want a better deal. We're like, no, we're not going to do that. Yeah, it's not they're not generating enough eyeballs. Yeah. Gosh. I love especially come springtime, like may. Getting done with this show, throwing on a rockies game, you know, a getaway game in the afternoon. Those in a little bit. Right? I'm not gonna lie to you. Don't you be time? That is a W for me. That's not arm, I'm just gonna have to put on something as Dwayne Johnson, Dwayne Johnson's like my own personal sleeping pill. I put him on. Really? Any one of his movies. They make you go to sleep? Out look at you. Aren't they supposed to be action flex? Yeah, they are, but I just, it's something about it. I guess maybe because I've watched him so many times. I just get sleepy blurry eyed. Boom, out. One more. Our man D Mack was writing about nazem kadri's return. He was at the game on Saturday night and that was fun. That was, he got the video tribute. You love a video too. A lot of a good video tribute. I don't know why you're against the video tributes. Ah. If a guy is not going to get his number retired, he should at least get the video tribute. I thought that was a great scene. When before the game as is warming up and he just took about 30 seconds, just stood along one of the boards and just stared up at the Stanley Cup banner. Right. Did you ever do that? You ever do that when you go back to Bronco games? They're back to do you stare at the banners? I have never looked at any banners, no. I am not. You're funny. You're a funny guy. Excuse me, because you don't get caught up in the trappings of victory. I got the memories. I don't have to. Yeah, but you don't. You're not a big. I'm not a big with the rings or going back and watching the games. I'm not a big nostalgia. No, no. You're not. I'm not a big, oh, I got this autograph or I got a big trophy room. I got a hey, I love me room. I don't have any of that stuff. I don't care. Folks, let's repeat that. Mark schlereth. Does not have and I love me room. Right, I know. I think most people would think you do. But I don't. If I bet you if I walked up to ten people go, quick question. Do you think Marshall earth has and I love me room? I bet you 7 out of ten would say yes. That's the image that you project. Now I have a couple of helmets up above where I do where I do my little TV hits for Fox and stuff. But it's just, it's just the two top shelves have, you know, I have four helmets up there, my Broncos, my old powder blue Broncos helmet, which I love. That one. I got a redskin helmet in there that I wore in the 91 season. We want a Super Bowl and I actually broke that helmet so they gave it to me. And then I had my two Broncos helmets from the 97 98 championship teams. Know that I don't have any ear pads though because my son took them all. Took the ear pads? Yeah, the little, so the little ear patch is going the helmet. Yeah, I always had these little thin leather ear pads, mostly because I had big puffy cheeks. Yeah. But I like the leather ones instead of the plastic ones that they make. I don't think the plastic ones would hurt a little bit. Pinch. No,

I think when you have a natural disaster movie is not really in the horror genre. It's more like i would fill in the science fiction genre maybe or action or action on but if you really think about it natural disasters are pretty fucking scary. 'cause they're totally out of our control like just completely we're at the will of mother nature and that is scary and dwayne johnson Yes so this is from wikipedia and it is the great galveston hurricane also known as the nineteen hundred hurricane. It is it happened in one thousand nine hundred and it is the deadliest natural disaster in. Us history the hurricane killed anywhere from six thousand twelve thousand residents of galveston officially listed as eight thousand. Were killed crazy. Yeah on august twenty. Seventh nineteen hundred. A ship detected cyclone east of some small islands in the caribbean. It swept across the dominion republic and cuba as a tropical storm and it seemed to be weakening however by september eighth when it got to the gulf of mexico it gained strength and turn in to a full on category for hurricanes with winds up to four hundred forty five miles per hour. That is so scary like that is hurling bricks like a hundred forty five miles an hour you there bricks flying through there. Like there's that's fucking kuku the reason though it was so deadly besides the wins and the flooding caused it was also because the people of galveston were unsuspecting. That hurricane was headed their way. The weather bureau in galveston didn't firstly. Didn't want to use the word hurricane so they didn't avoid any panic because galveston is an island And the other reason was because they thought it actually turned towards florida and georgia and not stay on its path towards texas but it did and it hit landfall september eighth.

The Rock Weighs in on Vin Diesel's 'Fast & Furious' Feud Comments
"And the furious. And the feud between dwayne the rock johnson and vin diesel which I guess it enters a new chapter bent house it. Yeah so Chris and i think in a previous episode talked about some recent comments that vin diesel made around the time that if nine came out where menzies profiled in men's health magazine and he talked a little bit about how the beef behind the scenes between him and dwayne johnson was actually like a manipulation on the part of master-strategist vin diesel. Where he was talking about how he would do anything that he'd have to do in order to get performances From people that he worked with on projects that he was producing. So he's sort of like insinuated that all of the the tough love that he was giving was was in order to like coax out the performance that he wanted from johnson. Which at the time. Chris and i were just talking about how i mean. Just absurd on its face. That claim is an interest. How really ridiculous. And like you don't believe the vin diesel is a master chessmen. Were playing three moves ahead. Look i actually appreciate the way that vin diesel has leaned into an and been like very publicly publican open about the way that he loves fantasy storytelling in dungeons dungeons and dragons. And how he looks at the fast and furious franchise as like an extended the campaign basically. I actually think all of that kind of the the ridiculous thought that he puts into all of that stuff. I think is actually is paying off in has paid off very well in those movies but to claim basically to claim ownership over somebody else's performance in the way that he did especially when there's so much simmering tension. There is just a step too far and apparently doing johnson thought so as well. So in a a new profile of dwayne johnson. And emily blunt. That just went up in the hollywood reporter today. They asked dwayne johnson what he thought about those comments from he said. I laughed and i laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And i'll leave it at that. And that i've wished them

We just wait for Europe and stuff to the rest of world to learn to speak English. He made suck, but I don't know. Think I Well, I think is most important in this story, At least from my perspective is why he had to apologize. Why is it because I think you explain this really well, like why is it such a big deal that he called Taiwan? A country like kind of like if this was like a Taiwan for dummies? I mean, why Why is this such a big deal? Because no one's talking about that at the conclusion of the Chinese Civil War, the Communist one And General Chiang Kai shek, the America's ally, and where we're to fighting the Japanese. Hey, fled with the campy The Coleman dung to Taiwan. The free Chinese army what we would call that I mean, I'm just me being honest here. It was a police state. It was it was a fascist army. But As as, as FDR said during World War two. Chiang Kai shek may be a son of a bitch. But he's our son of a bitch. It's anyway, he and his S O. B. Army go to Taiwan. Or whatever. There's absolutely no doubt today and for the past 30 years, Taiwan is a vibrant capitalist economy that produces wealth punches far above its weight produces Key amount of work of key semiconductors around the world Apple the rest, but it needs to stay free on band, but but we we actually had American troops on Taiwan till 1979 Jimmy Carter took him away. "Roush, Matt Thanks for jumping in with me for a few minutes. Obviously, everything was disrupted last year because of the pandemic. So where do things stand right now with new shows and return? Shows. Well, it it sort of is a bit of a mess that shows have continued to produce. They've had to shut down from time to time, but they're all shooting under covert protocols, and it's taking longer for some shows to get back on the air. Some shows haven't even gotten back on the air yet. People are still waiting for shows like New Amsterdam on NBC, which is a popular hospital drama that will be back till March. Ah, lot of the like another hospital drama. Grey's Anatomy is on the current hiatus because they had to do a pause. And so there's game shows airing on ABC on Thursday, But again in March, they'll be back with new episodes of Grey's Anatomy and the other Thursday night, ABC shows on Brothers have delayed their premieres until quite late in 2020, so there were only a few episodes that were there before the Holy hiatus. And so you'll see as many episodes of most of those favorite shows on network television, in particular, the ones that normally do like 20 or 22 episodes. There will be shorter seasons. Aziz a struggle through this, but they've tried to keep the lights on as best they could. You have seen a lot more like game shows and other filler shows from Canada have been imported to the networks you would normally have not ordinarily have seen on prime time. Um so they have tried. To maintain sort of an illusion that businesses usual, but certainly it isn't but at least the TV is back in most regards and streaming never really stopped, although I think the last month or so I haven't really seen too much like popping on Netflix ever since Richardson became a big thing around Christmas, but they really haven't had much You know, they keep putting new product up, but nothing That's really like that a real pal in that regard, But the truth is, though it took a lot longer for some of the shows to make it to air. Some things haven't happened that we would have expected to have happened. And the new streamers in particular, like HBO, Max and Disney and a few others. I don't think I'm Peacock didn't really have the launch that they wanted to have, because they weren't able to produce all the shows that they were hoping to have this big push. But there has been the steady stream of television it never really ever stopped and more people are watching than ever because people don't go out the way they used to, and Another. Really interesting to us, of course, also is like HBO Max for this entire year. Premiering big feature films, starting with Wonder Woman at Christmas. But just just this last week, they put Judas in the Black Messiah really great, a drama about the Black Panthers in the sixties. That's a feature film that's already gotten Golden Globe nominations. It's gonna get Nostra nomination, and it premiered the same time that it would be on the big screen wherever there are big screens. I mean a lot of places they still have movie theaters operating, so these movies are premiering on HBO, Max at the same time, they're premiering on theaters, and that's changing the whole equation of what the movie What's telling. Vision, all that kind of thing, So it's a really interesting time. I'm joined by TV Guide magazine senior critic Matt Rouch. One thing I've been doing while a lot of shows have been on hiatus. I've been watching some of the more critically acclaimed international shows, like Fouled up on Netflix and Israeli show or go Maura on HBO, Max and Italian show and they dub in English into these shows. Now it's not, You know the most ideal setup because how their mouths Are moving isn't what you're hearing, but it's a way to watch these shows for a lot of people. If they're not into the whole subtitles thing and I'm gonna tell you I have enjoyed the shows They are just tremendous. Yeah, fell in many ways was like a better version of homeland You know who might have had a great season fun show time, but it really went off the rails at times have felt is really fight really hard and groom or is like a terrific mob drama from Italy. You could watch the original of show. With subtitles If you if if dubbing throws you off, it throws me off. I tend to watch the originals. But these are both like you said. Those are terrific discoveries and yell if people were either discovering shows from international places, or they're also going back and discovering shows that they should have watched long time ago. I mean, I still here, of course, people who discover shows that have been around forever, But once Netflix gets him all of a sudden, it's a new show to them. That's how shit's Creek became such a big sensation in the final year and made any history. The show. Nobody even knew about what was airing on cable on pop TV. But once I got on this, like that became a big hit. So what are some of the things that are either on right now or are coming up that have caught your attention that you've either watched in advance or looking forward to watching? Well, just this week. It's interesting that quite a few major stars are getting new comedy Syriza and one is on Netflix. Starting today. It's um, the first season of the crew. The crew. Brings Kevin James back to TV and here's a guy he was a major star for. CBS had two big hits. It comes especially the King of Queens. But here he's playing the chief of a NASCAR crew, the NASCAR racing team crew and it's so it's set in the world of NASCAR very well timed, coming right after the Daytona 500 also Kevin James, just really at home here in this setting of being a guy who's got like these wacky people working on a NASCAR team, But when the team's owner steps down and has his daughter take over the team It creates this conflict within their world. But it's the traditional sitcom like you would normally see on CBS. But it's on Netflix, which, of course, has some great sophisticated comedies like Dead to Me, But they can also do this. I mean, they're trying to be all things to all people, but to get a talent like Kevin James to come to Netflix again. It just changes the equation. One night later on Tuesday, you're going to see two big stars get NBC sitcoms including Dwayne Johnson, the Rock He's got a show called Young Rock, where he looks back almost like the Wonder years. Thing where he's looking back a turning point in his life, and there's 33 young actors who play him it ages 10, 15 and 18 You get a sense he was raised in this world of pro wrestling is that it was a pro wrestler Stephanie's 10 years old. I really like I'm not some of the other stuff I wasn't crazy about. The framework is that he's running for president in the future, like in the 20 thirties or something, and he's telling his life story. The framework I'm not crazy about the part of the young rock is pretty good. I just wish were funnier, but then also, Keenan Thompson has a show called And not not the best name. But then Keenan Thompson after his incredible run on Saturday night live, he's the longest running cast member ever on Saturday night Live. You finally get the prime time slot and he's playing a widowed dad, who was also a morning show host, and it's a very warm family comedy. But the surprise here is his father in law's Don Johnson from Miami, Jeff I same, and he's really funny in this, but I just think we can't has a great personality and it's time for him to get a spotlight. Not a particularly adventurous show, but it's a nice place to visit. If you're looking for Good family.

"Some Maryland lawmakers hoped to rename Maryland to 10 Indian Head highway in Prince George's and Charles counties to President Barack Obama Highway. Charles County State Senator Arthur Ellis is one of the lead sponsors of the bill. Along with Prince George's State Senator Obi Patterson. Ellis says they want to honor the nation's first African American president. Maryland Matters. Notes. There's some apprehension about the stowing that honor on a highway that's so well known for illegal street racing, fatal accidents and epic commutes. Proponents of the idea say the highway needs a rebranding. The Prince George's County Council is expected to discuss the idea at its meeting on Tuesday. If you're looking for some laughs and something new one TV, we have a solution for you. TV guides. Matt Roush joins us to talk about some big stars in new sitcoms. Good morning, man. Hey, Good morning. So who do you have? Well. The first big name is Dwayne Johnson, who has become quite the movie star since becoming sort of dropping the name the Rock. But here he sort of embracing again. He's got a new NBC sitcom called Young Rock, where he's sort of the narrator of the piece. You see him in every episode. But he sets up stories about his coming of age and apparently had such an eventful childhood that he has three young actors playing him in different timelines. One of 10 years old when he's living in Hawaii with his wrestler, father and all those other wrestlers and then 15 when he's moved to Pennsylvania, and he's almost drifting into delinquency, and then it 18 when he's in Miami University of Miami as a college football draftees, So you see all these different life lessons that he tells the framework is that he's running for president the year 2032. Then he's telling us all these little life lessons and stories not terribly funny, but it's a sweet show. And if you like the rock, you're probably like this, but To me. The bigger deal is that Keenan Thompson is coming to prime time after all these many years on Saturday night Live. He's the longest running cast member on that show, and he's got a show called Keenan where he's playing a Widow, Dad, He's got two adorable daughters. He hosts a morning show in Atlanta, and he's processing his grief. But he's got a big family around him, including in a big surprise. Don Johnson playing his father in law, who is really funny, really laid back and Sonny here a nice surprise there. But Keenan, you know, he just got a great personality. That's a good fit for him. Yeah, he does so well in SNL. I'm really rooting for him to do well on this show as well. Yeah, Me, too. Yeah, And who else? Well, we also have Kevin James, who's a big who's had a couple of big hit shows on CBS. And he's got to show that set in the world of NASCAR very well timed, coming right after today's scheduled running of the Daytona 500, the show is called the crew, and he's the chief of the crew of a struggling racing team that's in turmoil caused. The owner of the team just stepped down. He has his daughter running the team. It's a workplace comedy, really, but that Kevin James is right at home in the world of NASCAR. So if you like NASCAR, you like Kevin James, it's a really rich. It feels like a kind of show that could be on CBS. But Netflix is all things to all people. First season drops on Monday, Okay, and finally briefly, Mad, something that's making you happy. And Disney plus So much the whole five seasons. Never before all five seasons available of the Muppet Show from the 19 seventies made Kermit Miss Piggy, a star. All the stars who were stars in the seventies, played backstage with the Muppet Show played with all those great characters. Whole thing drops on Disney Plus on Friday, and I will be reliving reliving my childhood all weekend long. You can count on that love that show too. Okay, Thank you, man. You bet TV guides Matt Roush. It's 11 14. I like that. That's really firm. I'm something.

"Think a comedy music guy. That's right country music guy. I should say not communist a country music. I like that. He was going out there and trying something weird and i liked it. He's trying weird things here. I don't know this is a better movie than be cool by a lot. But i think that I appreciate the most what he's bringing to a character that he's kind of working a little bit outside his comfort zone. I don't disagree with anything you just said but i do feel like you overlooked one building. Comedy thing that was a glorious crescendo. At the end of the movie and that was the girl the crossed is they bring her up like three times before they reveal that it's melissa mccarthy at the end i was hal and laughing when they like took her glasses off swing crossed again. I don't know why. I thought that was like really well executed comedy just like because they didn't make it seem like he was going to be a big deal but when they brought it up the second time it was And then when he finally see. It's era i was like. Oh my god like this movie is pretty good with setup and payoff where you also have Dwayne johnson teasing that. He's a never nude tobias on arrested development. Thank you pay off then. You get the payoff at the end of that. But yes the most mccarthy character stop is it does deliver like when the movie does pick. It's setups and payoffs. It's pretty good. When i say sequences i mean more as like an extended sequence you know taking place over the span of few minutes. You know what. I mean where. It's like the secrets keeps building and building and building to like a big hilarity kind of moment but in terms of its comedy. Set up some payoffs. I think it's it's fairly decent for. It's actually really interesting. You bring up the melissa mccarthy thing which is the end of the film that is probably the only jokai bumped on really. Yeah i just felt like they beat up in having too lazy is and then she takes. Glosses often do is go in. I just thought taking the mickey out someone who has a disability. Oh well this will be wants to have cake and eat it too. Because we talk about the dwayne johnson character. Right at the start of the movie we see. He's quite overweight in his teenage years. And there's a sequence of him dancing nude in the shower and the movie wants you to laugh at this characters physique like it is very much going out of its way to projected as funny and then there's a scene where he's horribly bullied like thrown in front of the entire class nude and they want you to feel really bad for this character like this is the worst moment of his life and they want you to understand that the kevin hart characters acknowledging this he recognizes how serious it is and then it cuts to a joke of dwayne johnson walking away and then the cameras like focuses on his budget like..

Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Your ears out some to get first. Just real quick, Stupid. Do you mind? No. Okay. Guy named Don writes into me. The Iris just returned my tax return to me this year after apparently answered some questions wrong. In response to the question, Do you have anyone depended on you? Put down 9.5 million illegal immigrants. 1.1 million crackheads, 3.4 million unemployable, scratches, 80,000 criminals and over 85 prisons. 650 idiots in Washington. Arrested that's unacceptable. Because I wrote back. Who do I leave out exactly? Exactly. There you go. There old depended on it. That's my good. Okay, Now, here's studies. Today. We talk about a guy named Bruno. Back in the eighties, he was informed he was informed that he was going to house the homeless teenager. Kid and his mom were evicted and ah, kid was sent away to Nashville Live with his dad. But when he landed in Nashville, he quickly found out that wasn't gonna happen. He was gonna wind up living with his dad. So and Bruno lived in a tiny one room spot at the Alamo Plaza Motel in Nashville. Now you think Bruno would have said Hell, no, I'm not taking in some homeless kid. I don't know. But Bruno took him in. He kept in there gave me a place to sleep Fat him taught him some cool stuff, too. He gave the 15 year old kid his last $40 toe hustler crackhead who'd gotten in Bruno's card, a honky tonk in Nashville. So the teenager got him out of there is driving down the street later realized there was a second crack head to sleep on the floor in the back seat. Nine years later, the kid with only $7 in his pocket, went off to make his his way and may and start his chosen profession in Memphis, Tennessee, but he didn't have a place to live. Bruno had an old trailer in Memphis. Let the kid lived there till he got things rolling. Bruno took him in fed him, taught him creative stuff even helped the kid buy his first car when it came that time. Well, this kid is now 48 years old. He well. He was very successful in his chosen profession, which was professional wrestling. And he's successful in his current profession. Acting the kid is Dwayne Johnson, the rock The Rock. Yeah. No kidding. Bruno Lower had been a wrestler kinda and a manager and a referee and you see that succession and you realize how his wrestling career went. You started as a wrestler, then a manager, then a referee. He's a whole head and a change shorter than Dwayne Johnson. So I'm not really sure how effective a wrestler he Wasat his day. But on New Year's Day, Dwayne Johnson tracked down Bruno lower to a parking lot and yelled across the parking lot. Hey, your son of a gun now about you when I hear that big voice yelling that to me across the parking lot, my first thought is I'm about to get the fertilizer beat out of me. Yes. But Bruno looked up saw was Dwayne Johnson and Dwayne Johnson said, Hi. They exchanged hugs and Dwayne Johnson gave Bruno it brand new Ford F 1 50. Wow. And a promise he said, Told Bruno We look when you're ready. Retired from the business I got you covered. What do you think you need it right? That is a great story, Johnson says Bruno changed his life trajectory. I mean, Now we're the hotel where they close. Can you tell I think I don't. I don't know how much they kept in touch throughout all of Dwayne Johnson's Career. But right, according to Dwayne Johnson, he says he he's never forgotten Bruno. I'm sure they spoke because if if Bruno was also in the wrestling thing, I'm sure they kept in touch there, too. Yeah, but Dwayne Johnson's been referred to is as the most likable celebrity around. He's funny. He's got his own foundation helps at risk and terminally ill kids. And apparently he knows how to show gratitude which is lacking in this country. Wow. So I just thought that was a good story, And that is a great story Friday. Great story. I thought you're going to tell me it was Bruno Mars that took him in and here, right, right. Yeah. He was a 15 year old and took in an old man. Go. And Mani says he's hot two when he's talking about the rock. I don't know what that means. That's weird. That's weird. I don't want to hear that. It's always always sweating. I guess maybe that should anyone should we bring it up? Should anyone Care to talk about the fact that House fax machine just went on home a whole blind. Why do you do that? But it was in the background and just here's my home phone. OK was the fact no 15 minutes. There's gonna be a foot long piece of curly paper on his floor knows I've got my fax machine is right here to my right. Just in case. Yes, I've gotta thanks Much traffic.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson is Buying an Entire Football League
"For many of us, Monday nights sieve Longman, Monday, night football. So today's a good day to consider a shakeup in the football world. The potential revival of a would be competitor to the National Football League last week actor and former pro wrestler Dwayne the Rock Johnson with other investors bought a start-up Football League called the xfl this take some explanation especially to those who aren't avid sports fans. Let's start with the xfl contrary to popular belief. The NFL doesn't football is just had a monopoly for the most part for so long that most. Most people consider it an institution for the last couple of decades though rivals have attempted to build new leagues to compete with the. NFL. The XFL is one of those its roots began way back in the year two, thousand when World Wrestling Federation chairman. Vince. McMahon decided to build a league that could compete with the NFL NBC Cohen the League and planned to carry its games the XFL plan to extend the football season by playing games from just after the Super Bowl in February. Until late April. Now, at the time league owners, hopes were high that the Saturday night games could Wu and elusive audience TV. Teenage boys according to CNN. Vince McMahon. WWF had been almost magical in its ability to appeal to twelve to twenty four year. Old Males who typically don't stay home watching TV on Saturday nights. The xfl hoped McMahon could bring that WWF formula to football and win that desirable TV audience, and for one brief moment, it looked like their hopes were within reach the first game in two thousand, one drew more than fifteen million viewers a massive audience. That gold ring looked close and yet it turned out to be so far away as the season wore on audiences spell like a botched handoff after that single season, the xfl shutdown. Sometimes in life timing really is everything, and so it goes for Vince McMahon who decided that twenty twenty would be the right time to revive the xfl it launched in February, pitching the Seattle dragons against the DC defenders teams played five games among both players and owners. Optimism rained TV audiences varied by geography, but were decent enough that by March believe was well into planning the twenty twenty, one season. And then Kobe came along the League canceled the season March twentieth less than a month. Later, the XFL filed for bankruptcy sports writers added the xfl lists of other WanNa, NFL competitors who'd also tried to make a go of it over the years. The XFL seemed to be just another failed startup, but perhaps they declared the league's death too soon. Let's get back to Dwayne Johnson better known as the Rock Johnson actually started his career as a football player, but never made it to the NFL instead, he joined Vince McMahon's wwf where he quickly rose to superstardom before retiring to become an actor, he's now the highest paid actor in the world according to Forbes. With his business partner Danny Garcia who also happens to be his ex wife, the rock led the fifteen million dollar purchase of the. xfl. Out of Bankruptcy Sports Management Company redbird capital as a third partner. Johnson says the purchase was actually Garcia's idea she loves football and when the XFL declared bankruptcy, she saw their chance to own not just a team but an entire league not to get too grand about this. Consider that the salary of a single NFL football star say. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak. Prescott is thirty, one million dollars. That's more than double what the partners paid for the xfl which has eight teams. Still, the deal made headlines. Perhaps it's a bit of hopeful light entertainment amidst the onslaught of grim. News in two thousand, twenty, Garcia. Johnson.
