"We're the same guy where the same idiot. Oh boy. Okay, so one of the first things that stuck out to me was that you place very little value on offensive line play. In general. I think that you have having Orlando Brown 17th and that, well, I agree that he's that far away from terran Armstead. I mean, terran Armstead is boy, in a lot of ways, like the best. I think that you could make a case. Oh, I should have done that for the hot takes. You could make a case that he's a better free agent than devonta Adams. Don't you think? Right? That's a take. The only thing that worries me about him is the durability stuff, but injury history. If he was healthy, absolutely yeah, yeah, I like that. Yeah. So I don't know. But so yeah, I agree with him first Orlando Brown 17th is low. For me, boy, not a lot of just the sort of, I mean, I agree putting him there, but sort of just an insulting placement of Jason Peters at the end of a Hall of Fame career at two ten. I know. It might be a little bit low. He was okay. The bears, I actually watched on garbage game pass. I watched a lot of Jason Peters this year when I was doing something on the bears offensive line. And he is so much less mobile than he was, obviously, very large 39 year old man. But boy, does he have some moves that he figured out to compensate? It's very cool. It was cool to watch that. I wouldn't hire him to play professional football for me next year. But that is that. A couple other questions. So here's a hot take. God, I should have saved that I wish I had seen this before the hot take show. But explain to me like a child, the Chris Godwin love. Like I still don't get it. He's good. But I don't know if I'm like, oh boy, are you ready for this? I would still rather Kenny gallaudet. Whoo. Wow. Wow. Oh, I don't know, Connor. Come on, baby. That's too much. Whoo. So I like Godwin as I think he is in that as a receiver. I think he's in that, I don't know, if you're going to rank them. And I haven't ranked them, but I feel like if you're going to rank them, he'd be like in the 16 to 20 range. In the league right now, just as a pass catcher. And then I think he brings such a plus as a blocker. I think he's just such a high floor guy, and you don't need to worry about having this sort of like, oh, well, you know, and we saw with odo buck junior, he went to a place where he didn't have great chemistry to the quarterback, and now you got an issue. I think as a big slot, that is not going to be as much of a problem. And then his blocking value, I think, pumps him up enough. But I will say there is a definite gap. I mean, look, once you get outside of atoms and Armstead, I think there's a pretty steep drop off as far as, you know, these are dudes who are going to give mega bucks too. Yeah, I mean, Godwin is physical. I think he's greatly improved as a player year over year, which I think is attractive. He plays well in the bunch. But what are you outside of that bunch? Like you were in you were in bunch formation with Gronk and Antonio Brown sometimes Mike Evans, like, you know, you had a lot of get a lot of really good guys sitting picks for you. I mean, I think when he's ISO, he's winning on routes. So in that way, it doesn't technically it's not technically a hot take, but yeah, I don't know. So that's a thought. One aside, when you said that you had shared the free agency list with me, I went into my Google Drive and I Googled free agent list and so I used to be a beat rider race to cover the New York Jets for a couple of years and then the New York Giants for the star ledger in Newark. And I used to make my off season free agent lists along with the names of the agents and anybody associated with the players who I might be able to call to see if the players were going to visit the team. And man, what a, I pulled up instead of your list. I accidentally pulled up my 2013 wide receiver rankings. Man, Muhammad master coy. Dwayne Bowe, remember Dwayne Bowe. Yeah. Wow, Terrell owns plexico bursts, Chad Johnson, chaz schilens. So here's the thing. You would spend all off season, like calling the agents of Donald Jones and Danny Amendola and trying to get in, you're like, it's gotta be one of these guys. It's gotta be one of these guys. And then the jets always sign chaz shilling. You know? And then you're like, the one guy I didn't call. All roads lead to chaz schillings. All roads. Mike Sims walker. Kasim osgood, this is a special team, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Henderson, Ted ginn. This is a good group. But yeah, so a couple other couple other notes here as I smash the microphone, accidentally. I think you probably have Hassan Reddick and by association, Randy Gregory, just a little bit high because I don't think those are the kinds of based on the way that they're going to need to win. Like nobody's gonna blitz like Phil snow's blitzing this year in Carolina next year. So I don't know how much more valuable he's gonna be. I mean, there's probably a couple places he could go, but I think his market is gonna be dampened and I would say probably the same goes with 300 Gregory two, a little bit. That's a good point. For the readers, both of them are in the top 25 Gary as a sign Reddick at 11 and Rand Gregory 24. Redick is probably two. Probably ended up being sort of. A protest sort of an overcompensation to the fact that he only got a one year deal last off season he was a free agent. And Gregor's interest. I mean, look, I think if you could trust Randy Gregory to stay on the field, I think he's considering age and the lack of wear and tear. I think you could argue him as a top ten type of guy, but yeah, I will say one other thing, there are a lot of edge rushers. I think they're going to be in demand here. This off season, and there's a lot.

"Hi there and welcome back to the great british chief show with myself brusson cokes and tom trials. We're gonna be talking about the chief training camp but first we're going to be chatting about the fact that we don't really kinda get training comes over here in england for especially football slash soccer but it's something that we really get excited about. Had lachey look to get to a chief trading. Come one day because it was so much fun doesn't it and the involve all the fans. I think thing the tickets are free as something in the morning and but you've gotta registered to get them but the so much going on and they do. Some kind of like commemorative is as well with the the army and charities and that kind of thing. So it's it's very much a fan involved environment book. We never get this in sottish lot football. It's it's not something that it's geared up to towards the fans noise. Noise is hardly the most accessible sport. Sports stars in general are more accessible never via social media. They see actually get someone in your face and actress sports star in your face talking to our ever hear. His heart is as you said and done. I want won't go to singer myself. One day as binding the justification to go over for training camp that that's the by spending a couple of thousand dollars on flying just to go and watch. Training session is hard for me to justify and they went for five weeks and incorporate the first game of the season and they'd be a little bit easier for just justify but then again. I'm away from home for four weeks but now you're right we get here and i don't know why i read on while i support ass. I've seen austin trained once. And that was because i once pulled up to the gates of london coney where bono made my dad pulled up so the gates london newer younger. He said the gate and we shouted and was just you of us shouted i run around our member. Tony adams looking back a husky this away and that is as close as i've ever gone to see my favorite sports team trying so i i love what they do enjoy. Yeah i get what you mean man. It's i. I actually hawk back to the days when you know in the nineties when i was loud watching new custody night is new custody and i didn't really have a training facility at the time in the ended up just going down the road from where i live. Where is Is a university in new issues in the the training complex for the university. And it's actually on tv. The moments on sky sports about entertainers and that was what they newcastle teams cold. The entertain is back then because no matter how many teams scored they outscore. One more day was how they were built. It would just fully attack and team and when they were interviewing the players about these entertainers thing on sky sports and they asked the players what you know. What did you feel about the training sessions and things and it was strange because one of the players david nola said he attend up in the showers on. Dan's person stood next to him. And i it was like hell's us he doesn't play and it was one of the students so it was. It was very much very accessible len and literally could just turn up to the training session and just watch get signatures from plays and it was a mind blowing thing because as a kid you look at these players in the giants when you say them and they're just sign in your football on the senator piece of cod savviness shit. What are they. And i always find that as a special time as a fun that you really connect with the team. Don't do that anymore. It's such a a sad way to do it that you don't get that interaction with those players anymore. Because because like i said that all that was free at the time he just rocked up and daddy way you just stood around the edge of the pitch while we're kicking a football in the shower in the shower. Yeah that's the thing here student and you're a new customer. You looked it but yeah nowadays. It's very much evidence dome behind closed doors. You don't want to kind of You know giving yeah you don't give anything away any attack takes who's gonna be playing next this week. It's a it's very flat but going about what the chiefs do it's brilliant. It's it really is a fan focused day that yet get some training in but you you know the you know the players kind of fully trained already anyway. But they're just getting used to how they play with each other and building camaraderie as well with each other And what better way to do it then in front of fans you over the whole the whole kind of organizations united won't bliss. I think it's great. Because it gives the plays a good sendoff ready for the season as well like the could be a form of secrecy and signs of affable and drinking in american football in the nfl of a team sent spies as fans. Yeah can you remember. Can you imagine bill. Belichick and blokhin knocker. Dwayne bowe jersey and a camcorder giant. You think jiffy now happens film some and you get some media but it must happen. It must happen. You must get teams watching training. Unless i'd calls unless of course the nfl make all of the training camp availability of teams which are doubt they do but they you must get. Scouts dressed as advocate dress. Jerry must happen. Yeah i think. I think the the ones the wait. A spot them. They'll probably be wearing like steven nelson jazzy. Play this out of the debate for the chiefs to something like that. And that's that's that's a spy so if you say anybody at the training competent joe. Who's wearing a steven nelson jersey. Kick him out. Maybe just sing the national anthem and he says chasing the end you notice the spy way. Yeah that's a good way of winkled out spies. Yeah that's a good one. Obviously we were both really look forward to it and we've got some new additions in the team this year. And we're gonna be looking at two teeth. plays each. It will looking forward to seeing the most this year Don't have to be rookies. They can be new additions as well. But who you most looking forward to restrictions on know you said editions rookies in saris. Chris joins. I'm looking forward to say in how much chris johns achy lines up at the end now. The there is a potential that he's going to be making a switch to a half and half between playing the free tech and play in the end. so i'm interested to see what he does. I don't buy the. They can play out there as much as that saying. Yeah because he's so valuable in the middle but then on the flip side of that you have got their at nadi. You have john rates and maybe there's going to be in a position where they play chris johns on early downs outside. And then maybe push him into the middle lights down when they take their the on his downs because dairy naughty doesn't pay processing downs. Maybe they bring christians back into the middle for that. It'd be interesting to see what they do with him and also likewise is interesting. See what's going to happen. The attacker challenge dana. Like are they going to step up. Because christiane is coming for their snaps. They ended i looking to make a living in this and the looking to find their way and guy lot chris jones. He's already been late in the middle of he comes to the outside his away on the outside. The nice guys aren't gonna see snout says he's almost like go. Chris jones in a training camp bateaux which is mad these so talented. He's a twentieth impair. Was it so for him to be an training camp. Bowel is crazy but he kind of is in training camp battle for their stance on the outside..

"Nice to meet you To kind of all on that The relationships you pat with nick and and obviously you guys have been together But you're in different roles now obviously nixed the head coach. Is that going to be an evolution. Or you guys kind of know how this is going to to work and mesh together when you get closer to gain planning and then secondly Your your interesting sort of history as a player quarterback wide receiver give a copper with one or the other physician From your playing days. So your first question. It was kind of interesting how we've been going about the offense. 'cause knicks background with shane similarities. To what the offense was an indie. And then it evolved in india with me and neck and how we did things and then shane evolved is a coordinator with the chargers. So it's kind of been need to put all three of us together and go through the offense and say okay. We liked this. We didn't like that was changed. This this is what we wanna do this as a staple some we need to emphasize. So that's been really good for all of us to kind of talk through things. And like i said we kind of have a similar philosophy of what we all like to do. What we've seen and how we wanna get guys in positions to make plays and then to answer your second question not really Coaching quarterbacks was great. Love doing that obviously. That's that's what. I played most my life and then i played some receiver in in college And then coaching in that position as been fun to. And that's that's kind of what's been interesting. So that's another common bond that shane nick and myself. I'll have in especially nick. And he's coach bowl positions and we've coached similar. Players had stevie johnston in buffalo and then he had stevie at the chargers. And so there's a lot of things that we rely on. Dwayne bowe when he was rookie for your to. When i was coaching i just started coaching at the chiefs and then he was there with him as well. So there's a lot of fun background things that we can talk through but as far as being comfortable with a certain position now not really think each one has its own unique style in quarterbacks. Obviously you've got a different way. Receivers you kinda go with them a different way. But that blend is What's kind of unique to have that. You can go take both positions and give them more information than the average person john paul damage. I kevin nice to meet you. You mentioned bones. The offense look at The three guys that have to do a lot with the offense of shame The guys you've coached on dir- you mentioned john galley bones of the offense. I mean know is there. Is there some Erhardt perkins Is there some air coryell as some wet west When you look at the offense as it is in playbook it all those an than the other. I think it's a good mix. I mean it's going to be obviously the philadelphia eagles offense and training camp. Obviously help us with that too. Slow defy what we wanna do. We're going to hang our hat on and kind of what direction we're going. We have got a good feel for what we wanna do right now with the last couple of weeks of work but yeah it's a good mixture. I mean look at the around the league. The offense is kind of evolving every year. So as a coach. That's your job. You have to evolve. You have to study other people and take what you like and past experiences and go from there. So i think it's kind of like i said it's gonna be our offense the philadelphia eagles offense. We'll take a couple more hair slow. Paul jeff in an e j kevin Wanted to ask you about your quarterback jalen obviously a unique player when he brings it able when his running ability. What does that running. Ability mean to passing gain with respect to our. It's gonna limit man coverage from jeans and that's florida. Thank i think anytime. You've got a quarterback that's that's got legs and he's a threat in that direction Defense has to honor in some capacity. So they're going to be limited in some areas to and some things that they may have done against a different quarterback. They're probably not going to do so. There are certain things you can do going into a game knowing okay. We're gonna get this. Probably not this or this is something we they've done in the past to a run quarterback or got can make plays if the pocket breaks down. So there's a way you can gain planning kind of use that to help you and help the player jeff kevin. I'm curious as someone who spent a lotta time round nick in the past and got to know him What you thought about the public reaction is. I press conferences and how he appealed to the the median public. And just you watching that. Is that something you anticipated knowing how he is. And what did you think of it. You know it's funny. I really didn't pay attention too much to it. Because he was so busy doing net stuff that i had all the other stuff. He wanted me to do so like he's a hang. Do this. you gotta do this this and this for me so i was kind of run around making phone calls you know. Hey we're gonna interview this guy. Do this do that. We're going to set up this setup that walking around the building. What are we going to change. You know things like that too. I really didn't pay attention too much to it until after the fact and even then it was kind of like. Okay i one. We'll just keep going from there. And i know what kind of guy he is and what he can do and and what. He doesn't in front of the team. And so you know. That's the setting. I see him in the most and how real he is. So i you know it was kind of unique to say the least but i really didn't pay attention because i was so busy doing other stuff for him that he wanted to get done. I got you can you. Can you expand a little bit when you said he Challenges players in a very unique way As you've got to know what you meant that that so the one thing that he does is he believes in competition. It's finest i mean. He will challenge everybody obviously to get better but just be more competitive within themselves with the team with the room. Whatever may be and a couple of things he does is like you know. There's a lot of video we watch. Obviously there's all these teach tapes in different ways. We try to get guys to get better and you know he's always one. Hey if this is better than the previous one. I'm gonna put you on the tape. So that's one way to challenge gasket. Get you know more competitive of what they're doing and it's just it's a different way. He's going to if you're a guy that needs to be loved up a little more on certain things in. Hey you need more explanations. You need more visual cues. You need more talking through more walk-throughs he's gonna find a way to appeal to. Everybody gets that personal side and get to know them and then challenge them to be.

"That is true. That is what is me. i'm wrong go back and look at that game. The minnesota miracle go back and look at what about bateman joe draft the bateman. There were seen so all iago trae. Thomas now will you nine straight nodding oj. First of all. I made too much money. That's the first day second second thing. He's coming off injury. He went to prove off the injured before they even dig about moving yet. This others any value in him. Brutal handled speed other really mother on the national. They drafted baker for hope. Because he can't he'll stay to get down to heal our man that's the resume they became football. Go back and look at this tape. Some catches easy catches right drought. I mean he reminds me of dwayne. Bowe let's think about this for a second wave at night could catch a fly with chopsticks with seven people around him but would drop open passes like it was nothing. That's that's a cop. I would have for him honestly i can. I don't mean to disrespectful mirrors. Just as what i see are moving a gina gina about his on his packers real quick. But we'll do that. Were air right. This is going to right now. Move on from the draft and going into the other drama in the nfl. Right now I start referring to aaron. Rodgers is the is the curse rogers because Seven made me realize something anyone that mandate either gets better at their craft or worse at their craft. Understand this illegal ar yup partout and if you go back and look at the history. No when quarterback reaches their sixteenth year but that franchise they gone brett farr. Sixteen years gone so bar star. Same sixteen years newsletter. Aaron rodgers came out this week and said that he does not want to play another season with the green bay packers he wants to be traded. this has turned into a way bigger story at situation than it ever should be to the point that i think before the packers trade aaron rodgers the gm. I give fired. Oud and mike mccarthy you gotta remember eric hodges reason mike mccarthy's not angry bathing young. It looks like they were running into the exact same thing all over these last month standing might not be down as my thing. Easier running keaton get get ran out of tile in their thank. You still the same so g as a green bay fan which opinion on this at this at this point. I'm i'm thinking it's been blown away. That he knew what he was going to get when he said. Hey can you. can you treat me. And now everybody and their dog is like will blow right up on this so he knew what he was trying to do And yet it's gonna make a lot of noise within green bay and you guys. I would have to go with you guys that i see before this is done. There's gonna be there's gonna be a new spot out there for any of you. All old people that need need work there will be soon. Come work in In greenbacks brand. Another thing too that sorta kinda buffet. My my mind a little bit. The first round pick was the defensive back. It wasn't a wide receiver. It witnessed tight end. Who wouldn't even allow him in. That could have helped him. It was it was a defensive back georgia. And i'm not trotted. I'm not trying to down stokes. 'cause i figure i think he's a good quarter but you gotta get aaronson. Help me help. This is the thing to we all remember. Before the beginning of last year we all thought erin was done like he. He wasn't going to complete nash cash. True that's aaron doesn't have the cards. I feel like he's playing because they do have a good quarterback sitting on the bench. Ret probably ready to go at this point. It will who they got last year. I'm is ready yet. Som- about all know about love on. Oh about seventy here and gotten a shot yet. So he leaves. He might get sat down if he's not playing right to give to shop yom seven hour. No by all know you know jordan love from what from the team in numbers that i've seen i think jordan was probably a stupid was probably a stupid choice to draft a general. I know he's a good quarterback but if being behind aaron rodgers make him better. We'll say alive patrick. Mahomes saying behind alex smith. I'm not gonna compare jordan. Love to my homeboy. But let's just scenarios still. He didn't get preseason. Let's be real guy sat in on the bench for the last year. He hasn't taken a so. Now you're gonna put him on the field in ammo. i just. There's it's a whole different dim on that. I don't know jeans better by anybody. That's been to a game just same thing. It is a different feeling. Just like if you watch a game in arrowhead or mile higher the other big even know worth market. Texas are known for having one allowed us stadiums in the nfl and have one craziest tailgate like four or five years in a row. So that like i. Just i don't think jordan love is going to be prepared for that now. I could be wrong. I've been married for long enough now. The negative bronco. I'm around a lot. But i just hope does not look like nfl. I'm sorry and it's like anything else like. I've been to from hockey perspective. When you're goalie you do not wanna play in anywhere where there's toronto at home ice because and that's the same goes for much off your montreal canadiens fan and in your goal you do not want to play and lebel provence. Because it's just the field was when you step out there it's it's a completely different thing from everywhere everything else so i get that. Yeah and love does not look ready for the pressure to even be behind the best quarterback in the world but that gives you know points As soon as you step on the field you've never stepped before and you've never been in.

"To assess Which coaches who have never been in a the head. Coaches are going to be successful. I think it's a Gigantic question mark whether Urban Meyer's going to be successful and he is a very easy to study universally understood track record. Football, not in the NFL, but of football. It's really hard with these gentlemen who have not been head coaches who have made their careers in someone of the shadows of the NFL. Doesn't mean they're going to fail. But You can read a resume and you can project likelihood of success in the long run. Don't have to know anything about a quarterback drafted in the fifth round out of the community College in Iowa. You know that the odds he's gonna make it are slim. I don't have to know the specifics the inside out realities of Dan Campbell or now David Cole in Houston to know the odds of both of these guys being successful is unlikely. Let me read you a couple tweets on David Collie and let me give you my perspective on why this is not an inspiring higher You can take a swing for the fences if you're in the situation to do it, and you have the personnel making the evaluation who you trust. Do you trust look If in Nine years. I'm done. Guessing what people are gonna do is relate to their age. If a nine or 10 years Patrick Mahomes, like all right, I have one. Nine in the last 10 3 rules been really fun. Thrown 60 touchdowns and three seasons. And it was really stupid, Completing 90% my passes in 2027. But now I'm retiring. And Andy Reid is still in charge. I'm not going to question who that guy drafted quarterback he moves up to get. I'm cool. I'm in, bro. You have a track record. Can't say the same thing for Nick a stereo, the new GM and Houston who comes out of New England. When I can tell you're the facts on David going his choice for head Coach. Let me read you a tweet from football perspective at F B G chases a good follow on Twitter. These were fact Let me just let me credit the showman. David Kohli is 65. Wide receiver in passing game coach of the team that passed for the fewest yards in the NFL. Before that was the QB coach for Josh Allen. CFL like rookie season Has never been and also your head coach and just got hired by the Texans to be there. Of coach. I sat back on my couch. I looked at the message on Our buddy who liked Aaron Rodgers. Take who are said I hope you're enjoying your drinks actually was a rare and I wasn't but I'm glad that you're down with. You are aware that I'm drinking tonight. You ever listen to show Well, we should go back on that talk show. No, I Well, that's what I do. And I thought, Man, that's not a great great David Cully resume and the nights you know you're on the Twitter trying to figure out who the guy is, and I see you again. Initial reactions, right? My first reaction is that sounds a lot like Vic Fangio. Mine has been a coordinator twenties, when fans you got the job in Denver and I came on the radio and said, I just didn't He was gonna work, and people are real mad at me. Look at that defense in Chicago. Has the coordinator this swarming, beautiful defense and he gets the credit. He did he does. He's the guy, but I just member thinking. You know, I've been a newspaper's where guy has never been a columnist has been passable for 30 years. When he gets the job. He doesn't do well. Been TV and radio networks where a guy has tried for years to break into the big job Now, five year week job and radio or TV for 30 years never got and finally get a chance. It doesn't usually go well. Vic Fangio. Didn't go well and he was a corner. That's my first time on David Kelly. And then I see. Okay. This guy's got an Andy Reid background making Andy Way back. Okay? I didn't realize came off the reed coaching tree. That's good. There's very few scenarios were being under Andy Reid isn't going to be like a positive. Them bread Breck Coleman has got a really good YouTube sort of scouting show responded to the football perspective. Tweet with these fax. He's charged with, you forgot. And to be fair. I never knew Can't forget something You didn't know. Which I should have been a long time right about the Chiefs in that time, all right? Coleman Tweets. You forgot that he David Cully, new head coach of the Texans. God help them. You forgot that He was the wide receivers coach for the cheese when they went literally an entire season. Without a single touchdown for their wide receivers. But hey, who's counting? In the higher of David Coley calls about the end of the Dwayne Bowe Aaron, Kansas City, Missouri, You know things are not looking good. Then I thought, OK, maybe. Maybe. Maybe. There's some to Shawn Watson connection. I don't know about. You got Rappaport reporting the Coley's known for leadership skills and strong relationships of players, which is, you know, Newspeak code for people like him. That's cool. People like me, too. Away from my work. Actually. A few of them want me to be their heart surgeon? I mean, it's what does that have to do with anything? They like him. Cool. He's the wide receivers coach for a team that can't complain. A freakin touched down to a receiver. I'm glad they like him. That's nice. That's cool. Have had to fire people I like in my career. That's what it's a different thing. It's a different thing. Gets announced. They're gonna keep him. Kelly, the offensive coordinator, which I guess is good news goes just all wasn't advocated for the guy. That George Great News because it is not like that was an inspiring offense outside Michelle Watson just being Joan Watson. There were some reports that the calling card you know, watching at the Pro Bowl and maybe that there's a connection there at that is that is the equivalent of me. Be like, Yeah. Come to the Michael Jordan of Starbucks wanted, he said, is this year's and I said, Yeah, we had a real connection. Up. He goes here you go Fill, said Bill, But you know what's cool? What? Yeah, the probable That's a real who A real coach K Olympics connection with LeBron equivalent That's.
