Blame Jon Gruden for the Raiders’ loss to the Dolphins... but do it for the right reason
"Raiders lost to miami. Las vegas raiders are now seven and eight. They missed the playoffs again. This year and the blame has got to go on. Jon gruden their head. Coach I i like jon gruden. I think there have been moments where he's done a good job preparing his team to play. I thought the highlight of the year for las vegas. Raiders was beating the kansas city chiefs. They looked very well prepared. That a great game plan But again this loss to miami coach. The recent failures by the raiders has to go on. Jon gruden you're gonna blame jon gruden for the loss. Make sure you do it for the right reason. So all the attention after this game has gone onto john. Gruden's late dame decision making against miami. Where the raiders had the ball first and goal on the eight yard line with a minute and fifty five seconds left. And the raiders chose to not score a touchdown they had. I mean they first of all they had the running back. Josh jacobs literally taking the other one yard line that he slid down to avoid scoring and did not want a touchdown would have given them a six point lead because they had they were down gas. Were down twenty four twenty five so they didn't want to have a six point lead. They wanted to take as much time off the clock as possible then on third and goal derek carr literally kneeled to continue to run the clock down and they kicked field goal. Giving them a twenty five to twenty three lead with nineteen seconds. Left in the game and people are critical. The strategy like you should have done other stuff. You should've taken the touchdown you should've done. Whatever coulda woulda should say whatever you want to say. I don't think this is the reason to criticize john. Gruden every once in a while you have a strategy. That is a good strategy. That simply doesn't work. I play video. What is it not a tabletop. Game like a board game called settlers of catan a giant nerd and my family. We all play during christmas. And i had a great strategy of putting my game pieces on the the number eight. Meaning that if you have to you have a high percentage chance of rolling in eight like you would think yeah. It's literally six and eight or two of the highest six eight and seven like the highest possible. Things could roll when you're rolling. Two dice and eighths just never got role but i waited and waited my whole strategy revolves around rolling eight with these two dice. And it didn't happen. And i don't know this the probability or whatever. I just know that on paper. That's a good strategy. Like eight gets rolled all the time and this game. It was an anomaly. It didn't happen and that happens sometimes every once in a while you good strategy that for one reason or another. There's an anomaly. And it doesn't work out

"The washington football team released their quarterback dwayne haskins. He's a second year quarterback out of ohio state and it's pretty rare for a guy drafted in the first round to be. I mean especially at quarterback drafted in the first round to be released less than two full years into their career. It's kinda crazy almost never happens. And i really use the word. Almost is funny. 'cause i almost didn't want to even make this topic. I almost didn't wanna talk about it. And i'm like i have to because people are going to want to hear an updated thought of some kind. I've covered dwayne haskins a lot this year in the offseason. I feel like i've talked to him. A bunch and the reality is that i could tell you that. He's he made mistakes here and there and i could list all the things. He's done wrong but the reality is between twain. Haskins just makes me very very sad disappointed and man. I like low key. He dug his own. Dwayne haskins made mistakes off the field. He made mistakes on the field. Poor play poor decision making in every facet of his career and like he was a guy who was immature off the field. If he got in trouble had code violations had all kinds of stuff he like unprepared. Week-to-week playing games. I don't know what's going on with the guy. I wondered at times where his dad because you would think somebody would be in his ear telling. Hey jude you gotta understand the opportunity you've been given in the nfl. And dwayne haskins is a guy who has a lot of talent who only started one year in college. You came in a little bit. I think too early to the nfl and clearly was unprepared for the responsibility of being nfl quarterback. And i don't know how you look at this. It doesn't make you sad because it's a guy again who it's a missed opportunity. And i know people are angry and washington fans or like screw. This guy he look on human being level. I i look at him and go man. He's going to have a hard journey like he's he's very rich and that's really cool I know he bought his mama house. I hope he bought it in cash. I hope it's paid for. I don't know. I think he's going to have a hard journey. I don't know whether he's gonna get another opportunity on another team. You would think that some teams going to take a chance on him. But the biggest red flag you can have for a quarterback is that he's not a good decision maker that he's immature off the field and he appears to be that kind of guy who like throws the ball well enough to be an nfl quarterback but throwing the ball is not at all what it takes to be a quarterback and I i don't know man. It's concerning. I know that when he came into the league the rumor was that the owner wanted him but the coaching staff did not add. It was kind of a a problem from the start and dwayne haskins. Never really he was never like very impressive at all in washington. And it's just a sad story of the guy who i think again didn't understand the responsibility. Jets defense did the unthinkable in shutting down Browns
"The jets. Yesterday one they knocked off the browns. So cleveland reeling a little bit. Which means next april in cleveland. Mike the jets are locked into the number two overall pick. The draft will be held there beginning. On april thirtieth. So what should they do at pick number two knowing what obviously jacksonville is going to do it number one. Well not just saying this because we have an office alive hosting the show today. I actually answered this question. Fourteen years ago which was in my first year as general manager of the jets and six. I drafted to offense offensive in the first round to birkenshaw ferguson. And nick mangold. I think it starts up front. It's really hard to evaluate. Sam darnold s trevor alluded to earlier in the show. Because it's just been between scheme changes. Coaching changes below average offensive line. It's hard to evaluate him. So i would take swell. I would put him at right tackle. I would keep back a very promising first round pick and i would start with their because if you could fortify your offensive line at least that gives you a foundation to build on and see what you have with sam darnold. I've been a little disappointed with justin fields last couple of weeks. He's strong against indiana struggle northwestern. He's very intriguing. Prospect to me but i just don't know if he's incrementally that much better than sam darnold that's why would draft the tackle from oregon and then build from there.
