"James Comey is very comfortable lying, though He's very comfortable telling untruths that he knows to be untrue. And my mother taught me that that was lying. James Comey's mother taught him apparently something very different. Big hearing yesterday and James going, gosh. What you mean that we shouldn't have altered documents from the CIA and we shouldn't have altered our own FBI. Throw two reports on our interview with General Flynn and Yeah, sure. We knew that nobody was really a Russian agent except the person we were getting the information from. So it turns out, it was Comey and the FBI, and this has been percolating last couple of days. That were colluding with Russia and a Russian intelligence operative actually Ukrainian but working with the Russians and suspected of being by the FBI. A Russian intelligence, a spy recruiting, trying to recruit please probably successfully because it was the Obama administration members of the Obama administration to steal classified secrets and then make some money off of them. No problem That was the source for Hillary Clinton's dossier and Hillary Clinton, then at the Russian intelligence was onto her before US intelligence was under. But once Comey And Brennan. You know, J. Edgar Comey and penitentiary face breaded. Once they were onto it. They just pretended they didn't know that and they kept going and undermining the president of the United States. Now Who's the Com E S? O. B in this whole story? Well, their whole bunch of them. Actually, there's atleast a mini event and probably an airport hurts Van full of really, really, really corrupt people. Very awful. Terrible criminals. Really in the FBI under James Comey. He's the head of the umbrella there. And head of the umbrella. Yes, sure. Whatever. And he, He's a He's a bad guy. This guy is not a good guy. He's a bad guy. They're good guys, and they're bad guys. They're white hats and their black cats. He's a black hat. He's a bad guy is not a racial reference. By the way. It's an old cowboy movie reference, so get over it. Move on, and he's a black hat. He's not a white hat, his FBI as a black hat organization. And that's a black bag organization, and it's a crooked criminal organization that undermined the president of the United States by lying and cheating and altering documents. And using a Russian looks like a Russian, really Russian asset, not like all the fake ones that the Democrats talk about McCarthy. I ts that they are they that is Tulsi Gabbard, Still Democrat congressman from Hawaii and Army major in combat veteran Uh, she's still a Russian asset, Michael. I'm trying because Hillary Clinton called a Russian asset. You may recall a decorated combat vet arm Army veteran Iraq and Democrat congresswoman from Hawaii of Hillary Clinton said. She's a Russian asset turns out that Hillary's close her being Russian asset I've been telling you about her for years. She's like Angela Lansbury in the original Manchurian Candidate Laurence Harvey and Frank Sinatra and all that stuff, the good ones the and she is. She's just awful. She's the horror show. She was no horror. She She was using this information that came from and it's should paying people to millions of dollars, but fusion GPS crooked D C law firm Perkins Cooey and and they're engaged in this this'll really nefarious. And prolonged effort to undermine the Republican running for president. And then he was elected the president elect and the president, and they they all worked diligently Uncorrupt Lee to undermine the duly elected president, United States and James Comey is one of the key bad guys. Some of this came out yesterday in the hearing. Lindsey Graham, not at his most forceful. I've got to say I'd love to go in there and ask questions myself. I'll give you a series of questions. They're Camille. I'll put some questions and Andi yesterday, but progress was made. Let's say Let's say And this John Durham you know it was Maria Bartiromo at the Fox Business Channel several days ago was over the weekend, I guess. Tweeting out that her fantastical sources were telling her that there will be They may be perfectly good sources that there will be no indictments and no proclamations, declarations. No reports preliminary or otherwise from the Durham, The John Durham campaign. The investigation Into all of the Obama Gate, Russia Gate corruption, the most corrupt administration in the history of the country. But according to Maria Bartiromo, She says, No, no big news from the bottom line from the Durham investigation until after Election Day on DH. That is now why that would be a line of demarcation. I don't know. I wasn't privy to the conversation, but James has got a very faulty memory, and that's why we opened with the Sergeant Schultz thing who everyone knows better. As Jon Banner said, regulates. The actor's name is getting nobody knows his real name. Why I store information like that used useless information. I don't know, but but I did. And and Comey yesterday his it doesn't ring a bell. We had a little bit of the audio yesterday because the hearing was ongoing. While we were on the air. Have I mentioned that we're 888630962586319625? Is the telephone number and Comey is like, you know, I know nothing. I cannot recall. Gosh, that doesn't ring a bell. I don't remember that hair really doesn't remember a lot. And a friend of mine who's actually federal law enforcement himself says. How can come Hee right. So J successful book when he has no memory of anything that happened that fast And also, there is this two part four hour long. Docudrama on Showtime, the cable channel It's on this month because that Jeff Daniels, who stars as James Comey, in this four hour long movie, this epic, it's longer than gone with the wind. That's longer than else did, And and he's kind of the El CID and this is the hero. It really should be called James Comey, The hero by James Comey. And then show time spent hundreds of millions of dollars, probably a slight embellishment, making this four hour long movie in which James Comey is the stoic hero and gashes, a heroic figure. Except that he's the biggest crook ever to be the director of the FBI. Other than that, he's a he's a great hero. But on the left, really, the more crooked you are the more of a hero you are. They love the child rapists in Kenosha rather than the 17 year old lifeguard. They love the mob chasing the 17 year old who has been his afternoon scrubbing filthy, rotten, obscene graffiti off of a high school. They hate that kid. But they love the serial child rapist who raped five little boys between the ages of nine and 11 and went to prison where he was a constant discipline problem. He's the hero of the story. The child rapist. And the 17 year old who I was reading today. I think it was on NPR article he belonged to a group called Back The Blue, which NPR suggested was probably racist. Does your back the police. So you're probably racist because it's a counter to black lives matter, which is anti nuclear family and anti Israel kind of an interesting combination of things. Israel, generally speaking is pro nuclear family on well, you know, I guess that's consistent. They're they're really But James, go me for a guy with no memory. He's he's written a book, which turned into a four hour long movie, which is on Showtime. Leading up to the election. It's going to play every day, no doubt between now and election Day and then beyond the propaganda network..

"You listen to him all plus or three hours this morning. Come on. I got you for the last night. I was watching the Yankee game 00000. That was really bad. You are my friend on the West Coast. And you? Hey! I am your friend and I I truly am apologetic. Almost sincerely, uh, couple of things first. What? Quickly? I don't think any of any of the debate beginning the action blast. I changed anybody's opinion one way or another. You're going to have to start over. It's like getting hit in the head with a hammer get, Dwayne said. If you cut me, do I not bleed? Okay, start over. I will. I will speak slowly. I don't think anything that took place last night in Cleveland. Besides the Yankee game, change anybody's opinion. Of who they're going to go ahead and vote for and your callers say, Well, I don't think this is going to help with independent. I don't think you know. Maybe there's two dozen independent voters left in the country. I mean, you know, like Trump, or you don't like this is a voter turnout. That it is, And there's a story in the Washington Post, saying Democrats just crushing it with the mail in ballots. They don't realize that just cannibalizing your ballot. I mean, it doesn't matter. It depends on the total number of people who vote by the end of the election. But tell me sometime. Maybe people don't care about this as much as I do. If you packed the Supreme Court, the Republic is over. That means law is elastic. That is that is it? That's the fall of law. If they put the umpires will have been Will have been bought by one side. That's the strike zone will have changed completely and forever. No. You'll see stakes. Go ahead and say you packed the court. Okay, fine. We're going to divide Florida in five different states, and then we're all off to the races. That and and what about Antifa is not an organization. Oh, I guarantee you there are there. What is what is in the air, The apparitions. And now, Alison, you didn't pick up one thing that I just heard on your montage. There, he walked away from the green New deal. Twice and then he walked back. You gotta understand it came back to explain what it did and why it would work And then he walked away again. Right and before get off, and I know this is sort of off topic, but You know, I am an investigator and today Vader is going to go ahead and goes under oath. And I guarantee you, John Durham is going to be listening to what it is. This parasite has to go ahead and say under oath. I guarantee you that who's going under oath today? Isn't Does James Comey always Comey under oath today? That there Home. I didn't You know, yesterday black Cliff letter about John Brennan. Hand written notes. Oh, my many of the F B. I guys come down, So you know, you have to go ahead and identify myself because I'm um I'm going to go ahead and get Floyd. We're going to get for you. And I'm gonna have to answer questions. Look I know I hang onto these things because I'm an investigator. But But Durham is this is this is who's going to be paying attention. Today. It's going to be John German, his office but we're not going to learn anything until after the election. Never have I been more disappointed in justice. You know the election Trump trying to make this point last night, but he never had a transition that he was attacked from before he entered office that it's never let up and that he's been attacked from both flanks from behind and above. And John Durham could have brought clarity that and heavy.

The Power of La La Anthony

"PLA Anthony Welcome to the show so. How are you guys doing? Don't? Talk to you. So, people. Know, you got your start in radio at the age of just sixteen t talked to us about your journey I like to go to eleventh grade and I was just so until with this radio station and then went to an event they were having enormous like saw some interns like hanging posters with something that the Wu Tang clan was doing and I was like this could be really cool. So I applied for the program NASA I got him but I didn't really have a plan I just knew I. Love Music and my love for music has taken me where to where I'm at now I got somebody who has dj big. Fan You want not held it down. But it's been incredible to see your acting career just flourish and you play the character of dom on most recent season of the shy conduit for the money I, do it for the culture talk to us about what it was like to play. And get into that character shirish doubt I love lean away. She's amazing for our culture and she was like I might have something for you on which to come in addition and I was like I can't mess this up like I wanna be on the shy and I got the role of dom which I love because she's so different from leaky show empowered dom as a chef that's an entrepreneur and trying to get their business off of. The ground and really focused into keeping 'em it on point so they can build this amazing business together. So I think it was a great transition into go from working with great creators like Courtney Kemp and fifty to now be on the Lena and her crew has been just an incredible transition and so there and you've been acting in so many different types of roles for over ten years I'm curious like what type of role do you hope comes next I'm always looking for relieve rooted and grounded stories just stories that matter to us. Our culture stories that we can relate to stories that people aren't telling I'm attracted to that kind of material, which is why I'm also producing house well, because the great thing about producing, find your own material and bring it to life you're working on a new project that gives a behind the scenes. Look at the NFL. Tell us a bit about this new series and why you wanted to be involved. So fifty were executive producing together the book that we read that we love and it's more about like what goes on behind The scenes with sports, but it's mostly about the women. So many women just give up their own lives just to be there for their partner, who's an athlete losing sports, and what happens when you like I have my own life and I want to do my own thing and what effect does that have, but it gets really grimy and gritty in real and obviously you know sports and athletics or something you know I know a lot about so I was able to really give some of my stories and really gives some real. Really exciting content to the show. So we're excited we're excited to hopefully be in production really soon and get that oven going you're also working on. Producing Story About Sin Toya Brown long you know young woman who killed a man in self defense sixteen was tried as an adult given a life sentence was then finally offered clemency last year. Why was it so important to you to make sure that this story was told that just such a powerful story and I had been tracking it for a while and watching toys interviews and just what happened to her from young growth? Donau. Moe's fascinated at like what? Was Your Life like that. took you down these paths and then her completely changing her life and finding God and becoming the spokesperson for young girls and sex trafficking. I thought it was amazing. So that's something we're so excited about and wanted to be so careful with because now we're telling someone's life story. You don't WanNa, take it lightly or take that for granted art. So power was truly one of my favorite shows I've talked to breathe way too much. I still found myself wondering what carers from the show would do if they existed in the real world. So We'd love it if you could just indulge us in a little bit of a game. Okay. We're GONNA throw out a scenario and you tell us which character from power best fits the situation. All right. Okay. So we all know that Joe Biden made good on his promise to choose a woman to be his running mate. On the democratic. Ticket but we want to know which female character on power would have made a better choice as a running mate. Okay. So You already know off the top of the dump quick witted she's smart. She knows the system how to get through the system I. think he'd be a great running Angelo for sure I mean she kinda got caught up by the system that numerous through it and she knows the law whether she was part of breaking the law or not. She knows the law. So I think she would have been great. All, right. Second Question. So none of the men on power were necessarily winning awards in the a good boyfriend healthy relationships department lynch two men from power. Do you think could go head to head in a horrible boyfriends verses? Who would you like to see? I think draze caring. There was a horrible boyfriend who said the daughter the always mentioned that he didn't care what happened. Durham mom probably ghost I don't love how he handled the situation between you know Tasha Angela and how he did that I wouldn't say Tommy 'cause. You did kill Holly. You're right. Maybe that's what I was gonNA. Relationship you've really love Kisha and things that he would have never heard. Anything to protector. So he might not have been the ideal boyfriend, but I think he was getting to a place where he was really trying to eat. Better. But he did last gopher. No

"Many. Of the faces that we have seen over the past few weeks leading the black lives matter movement have been those of young black women theatric DVD. Jackson is one of those dynamic women speaking truth to power as a leader, a black youth project one hundred while attending Florida International University. She became active at the height of the murder of Trayvon. Martin was led to founding the local chapter, a dream defenders at her university. Today, we chat with Yatra, how young people are seizing and owning their political power at this moment. I'm really excited to talk to you today I've been such a big fan of B. y. p.. One hundred in really excited that you were able to join us. So thank you. So I I want to talk about the fact that at such a young age you have done so much for the black community and the Black Youth Community you've done organizing as a CO founder or of the Durham Chapter of the Black Youth Project hundred supporting black mamas bail out, which is one of the favourite causes that I donate to and just so much more especially during the racial pandemic that we've been in these past few weeks. What brought you to this work? What made you wake up one day and say, okay as a young person, I have to get involved as a black young person I have to get involved. So I am from Philly or and throughout my years I was in public schools I grew single mom. Single mom household of three girls and. So grew up in inundated southwest philly end of there's many things of my experience that really informs where end today but that's not quite where I was politicized. I was in Grad School. Down in Miami Around Twenty, twelve, twenty thirteen and so I, was living in Florida. At the same time as the murder of Trayvon Martin and all of the marches in the energy that was being built up in that time and I was pretty apolitical leading up to that point and was going to a black sitting union meeting because our school where I know black people. So the black student union because that's where we were and this organization out to folks from dream, defenders averages a state based organization down in Florida Cain ended presentation on the work that they were doing and police brutality and immigration. Reform. School to prison pipeline. We're talking about these different issues in was really activated started to pay attention. To. That as an opportunity to be partners to the apartment organizations actually doing the work that was really where I started really a moment that similar to where now I love your path that you just talked about and I feel it's so important because A lot of young people you know when I talk to them, they just feel that can I just show up? Can I do it in? That's really what you did, and that's what a lot of the people involved with the. One hundred have done and I would love for you to talk a little bit more about the work that you're doing. In particular I'm a fan of the safe. We save campaign, which is something that I also think is a very timely conversation that we need to have in this country. Yes. So she said we save is one hundred national campaign It's our transformative moving campaign to end gender-based violence against like women. Like girls in black gender, non conforming people especially comes. In there is more origin even how we got to deciding orange she sees as national as I national campaign we had this huge visibility of black boys and black men that were being murdered brutalized by the police It was carrying this very long history erasure, black women, black girls, an our stories in the way that we have been brutalized by the police, and so we wiping one hundred among many other organizations really uplifted. Hashtag say her name. As a demand to also remember the stories of black women and black girls be harmed on a regular basis by the police and really pushing a bit of an intervention into the visibility of who stories are being told. And so we help these different events honoring black women and black girls who stories were not being pushed to the front and also talked about the a specific nature of black women in the way that the system harms us that doesn't that doesn't necessarily apply to black men in black police in. "But yeah we're outside. I think want you to listen. That's that's in their best interest in just ignoring it. I think there's all mistakes and I just hope this gets gets done all right. You want to do any thoughts on the eighty-sixth draft since you brought it out really annoyed me I. So we were in a retro draft from Nineteen Eighty. Six last night voted nineteen ninety nine before that We did not fare well. What were your overall thoughts on the draft? How first of all huge? Thanks to everybody. That's involved in this project. Chandler Todd Zola's developed this unbelievable a spreadsheet that calculates the standings based on each. Pick that we do so draft number. Two as you match didn't do great. We both were over the sixty point threshold which is within twenty points of winning but still pretty safe distance away. Weird strategies are winning. These retro drafts have to put. Nobody can build a balanced team. You go about. I think I might have figured out why this is the case compared to a regular draft. Let's hear you can manipulate the LINEUPS? During the regular season and that neutralizes some of effects of punting categories and going for things like saves era and whip. You can maximize all of your other categories. I can maximize matchups. I can avoid the course field games. Where when we're drafting a player. We're taking in those bad cores. Outings that affected the whip. We're also doing add drops. We're not doing that in this. So we're draining the player pool and the quality games deeper in a traditional draft than we are to retro draft is still I I was saying before the show to Kyle I drafted Milwaukee brewers as teddy again in the second round. I putted rip because I drafted error. His whip was worse than everybody else in the League. Like like the team total. I didn't realize what I drafted like that was it. I finished last whip. I couldn't win. You can't win by putting your rain whip so. I hope I got another shot. I'M GONNA try to get interest. The thing that bothers me is you can't build a balanced team and win because everybody's punting something and that means that some and it comes down to the last pick. It was another dramatic ending with a dramatic ending in both the ones. I've been in but I've seen three of these now. If you're not putting something whether it's batting average it seems kind of silly to stolen bases are the guy who won. Punted wins and.

"Is one of the best leadoff hitters ever it not have sprint speed in the nineteen hundred strategy. Last night looked it up. He was over. Four dealing basis Stealing bases as overrated sprint. Speed though yeah. It didn't matter fast. You wise it. Just it's free. It's all I'd be by. The way is one that I have not fully embraced yet. I love the measure. But I'm not quite sure yet what it tells me. I'd be a little careful about one. I have enough time to fully. You can run. But he can't steal basis necessarily right right so many guys. I'm trying to think of names now. From the past the players should have been base stealers but they just couldn't figure out Cesar Hernandez now in Cleveland cannot figure out how to be a good base. Dur whatever the instincts are reading pitchers or getting the right jumps. He has the speed to steal thirty bases this season. He's just never done it and he's never going to do it. I don't think Jeff Stone the old phillies could never figure it out either Anyway we have enough time that that was fun. It's a good discussion. If we had any hashbrowns to ask we would ask them if you have any hash. Browns for Monday show about potential season tries to get you know try to. I saw somebody comment on this on twitter. Last night I thought was the best answer. Don't pay attention on twitter to what's happening right now in baseball with the acrimony between the Union and the players and the owners. Because it's just not going to help you. Just hope that they figure it out at some point and we get baseball if it's safe and you know what even if they don't play this year. I'll be back for next year so you can say well it's GonNa ruin. It's not going to ruin it for me. I just. It's the one sport that just can't figure things out hockey figured it out. "Hard did he hit the ball? That's hit tool come on barrels. That's talking about how much power a player has that's a true measure of a player's power. How can we ignore these? I mean now that we have stuff that's actually measured visually by cameras. I don't understand the idea of putting that aside I get the idea of putting aside the stats based on formulas things like war. Where we've questioned. I Eric the the the measure for players defense in the war calculation. I get that but these but I mean how much is repeatable but might the one problem that you whatnot problem but we disagree a lot on the show about what is repeatable. And what was just a bad season and tour. How much should we put into? What happened last year? We know what horry so layered with barrels. Last year he led the League in the category. I think And then he had a ton of home runs and then you wrote in the article that Max freed allow twenty one barrels all season. How much it was Solarin. Free did is repeatable when it comes to barrels an ex philosophy. All that is fhu comes down to you have to trust the three year average. You have to trust that navy. What he did two years ago with more legit than what he did. Last year It's it's predicting ahead. We already know what the players did. So when you're looking at all these further analytical stats how much of it is art? He did it. Can you repeat it? And how is he has to regress like commanders? So the unfortunate truth here is that there isn't enough data. Instead cast history for me to do a fair examination of repeatability stat cast the stats are available. Only from two thousand fifteen until now. It's been five seasons in the tank. And frankly I think the past three years of the ones that are the the most accurate so it's not enough yet. I that year over year regressions when we talk about projections. I think ten years from now when we have ten plus years of data in the tank. It'll be little bit easier for us to use these to build a better projection model. But I don't think we can do that today for me. The value I have a question about a player. Y DID JOEY. Gallo hit for a batting average. This is something that's GonNa come up in the final playbook and Eric you've asked me why do I believe Joey Gallo? The reason I believe in him is that I know what he did to work with this new hitting coach Luis Ortiz last year. And I WANNA know statistically what did that mean for him and what I saw was that he was a heck of a lot more patient at a much better strike zone judgment and then I have to make the decision based on that data not in a projections model. But just up here. Do I believe in what happened before it? And the two years auto I believe in what stat cast is telling me and I'm making the decision fantasy wise that I believe fully in last year and I'm going to toss aside the previous two seasons. Well that's what it comes down to you. When you're leagues and you have to project ahead so mandatory Solaris most. We kicked talking about him. One of the most interesting players because he showed up so so so much on these leaderboards last season but in the past he had. It's almost like you find credit together. I with him. I believe that if I had them in Philadelphia's translate Kansas City. Be ASSUME HERO. He hit like eighty home. Runs Ballpark I believe the powers legitimate. I believe when he was on the cobs there was power there. I didn't think he was swing. At the right pitches he changed. There was something actionable that he changed that we didn't know he was going to be able to change. That's why he had such an amazing season and he did. He have forty eight home runs so he overcame his ballpark. He overcame his past predilection to swing and everything and he action changed. He's one of the five players who made the most changes to his batting approach to become a better player. Give him credit so I think he's legit. I don't look we'll get to this on Monday. Nobody gets projected four hundred or to hit fifty home runs. Okay everybody comes back to the pack a little bit so there could lead the League in home runs the next time the League. I could see that happening in forever to seventy. Maybe what's interesting about? What Solaire did you and I discussed him. I think in May or June of last season was. He looked like he was being more patient at the end of the year. The numbers did not bear that out. The significant change was he was making better contact on pitches in the strikes which suggests to me. Exactly what you're saying that. He made specific adjustments. That are more difficult to measure and they resulted in. Some big steps set cast tied for tenth in hard hit baseball's last year. He was first and barrels as you pointed out with seventy. That's just absurd seventy barrels. Why wouldn't everybody want this information? You're running a major league team. Okay.

"He can. He keeps it real short these days but that is a big claim to fame back in high school Tristan let's move along and talk about your last entry in the playbook was his last week. Advance stats portion And this this one hits home from me and I'll tell you why because I often find it hard to find the advance. Stats that everybody's talking about I mean it took me a little while to figure it out. People tweet me and say where do you find? Eggs velocity numbers. Where do you find launch angle on hard? Hit Rate and barrels in briefly. Could you tell us why is all this important? Doesn't always tell us who's going to break out like we. We didn't know horry so layer was going to do what he did. Based on what? He did the last season but early. On in two thousand hundred you can see so ever was doing something special and it was. GonNa Stick. Is that what I can imagine when you think Yeah it gives us a better picture. Statistically of what a players true skills are which is something we didn't have when the Rotisserie game was invented. And frankly even around the turn of the century you couldn't get stats like this. They were proprietary numbers. That major league teams had the site to get most familiar with when it comes to stat cast baseball. Salat which is where you can get leaderboards. You can create custom leaderboards where you can add the stat categories. You care about under the statistics. The other you can search which means you can do breakdowns based on date. Ranges different split types Handedness types of batted balls. There's a lot of different things you can do. So when we talk Eric you and I about. Let's investigate this part of a players game. That's probably the first place that I'm going to go is somewhere there to get things. Like the exit velocity the launch angle. What his heart hit rate was things like that what the basketball distribution was because those are using cameras to measure them instead of somebody's sitting there and going. Hey that's a long drive tracking I assume. And this wasn't really maize maize specific in the story that you use this information to decide whether a player season was legiter. Not He hit the ball hard so we can do it again. If he didn't hit the ball hard I don't have an example at the top of my head but if a player has a thirty five hormone season but he did it by like a Yuli Gurriel. He barely hit a lot of these home runs over the fence. We can see that from these From these other sites I assume you use it to decide who is legit. Who is not I do yes? And as a matter of fact the final edition of the playbook which had come out later today will discuss specific player examples. And that's GonNa show the ways in which you can use this. But if so for example Tim Anderson comes to mind immediately from and this is the one that struck me yesterday. Was You can get the expected batting average for a player so we talk so often about Babbitt and what it talks. What it does to the players batting average STAT CASS. Will gauge the types of batted balls the quality of the contact. That somebody like Anderson produced and give you the batting average. He should have been expected to hit and I was surprised. It was as high as it was. This is a guy who in two thousand eighteen they said should've added to twenty-seven they said last year we should about a to ninety four. Which means I'm being unfair in saying that he should completely regress on this category and not even be productive. He was decent. He just wasn't anywhere near the number that he gave you at the end of the year. So it gives you an idea of just how watch to what degree you should regress these players to the me. I.

Although there's something I just can't get over taste for next week. We'll talk singing that for next week is those can't get over while we have you. June Let's talk about what's happening in real baseball right now. Because it's a little bit disconcerting and I don't WanNa overrated it and I really don't WanNa tweet about it but I wanNA take seriously. It seems like there's so much acrimony between the players the players union and the owners when it comes to how to divide the money and I can see both sides of this K. And I all I want and all that I think most of the listeners to the show is baseball and twenty twenty and beyond. I don't think they really care how it happens whether anyone's there. Who makes what. But after the Max Scherzer tweet from last night. Things aren't looking so good so I wanna ask you as a baseball writer. Do you think this is all legit? You think this is posturing what's going on so it's probably a little bit of everything right. I thought the fact that shares a tweeted. That out was extremely significant. Mostly because he's one of the the the highest ranking players in the in the in the union and he's Max Scherzer. He's he's one of the most famous players in baseball and so the fact that he was taking this very public stance about how the basically warning knowledge the fact that MLB wanted to reduce their pay rates in their counterproposal. I think just generally speaks to the state of the relationship between the League in the Union. Just there's there's been a lot of chatter over the last couple years about this upcoming negotiation and in twenty twenty one. I think there's been a lot of nervous people around game know people who think they're before this pandemic happened that there was going there was a a decent chance of a player. Strike potentially happening or not happening. And I think this pandemic like a lot of problems. In America has excel a-rated in brought to the forefront. Like all of the issues that are happening when you talk to players when you talk to front office people just the general trend that I've gone from talking to a lot of folks in the game. Is that there. Just isn't trust on both sides. I think both sides view the other side extremely cynically and so they're going to you know take all of these negotiations taxes in the most cynical way possible and so. I think it's just it's creating more more acrimony on social media and it's it's really really unhealthy for the sport just because you know players lost a lot in the last negotiation. I think that they're in a place where they make ground backup and we have to see kind of what happens because the owners are taking a very hard stance here in trying to cut player salaries. It's a really really complicated situation and I personally for me. My big concern is just what happens if we just don't have the season baseball. What does that mean for the future of the sport you know reading a place? Where might trout? Potentially one of the five greatest players of all time is only known by forty three percent of Americans according to New York Times like that is a major problem for baseball in terms of its notoriety and as a twenty five year old baseball fan. There is not a lot of us. There's not a lot of people who are in their twenties who are extremely passionate about baseball in the same way that people are passionate about basketball and football and so the thing that really worries me is that and this might be the most anxious. Pardon me coming out but like you have entire summer where there's no baseball. Who are these kids going to? You know who potentially have any interest in baseball. Why would they gravitate towards baseball when they're when the owners and the players are squabbling over millions and millions of dollars? That's the thing that really really worries me. And I think that is getting lost in just a public posturing that's coming from both sides. Is that at the end of the day. You know none of this matters if nobody cares about baseball and twenty years and so my hope in all of this is that obviously things are done safely and people don't get sick in the baseball comedian that they're able to logistically handle this wall which. I think there's a lot of concerns from the players just about the whole safety aspect of this but I also think it's about the future of the sport and young fans and and not making this all about money because at the end of the day you know we're talking about Bull Durham rate. It's incredibly romantic story. About how baseball can you know? It's very romantic story about about how people think about baseball. And I think that when we're in this kind of situation it's so easy to get lost in just the dollar amounts and so just the whole the whole thing is just generally concerning to me..

"Is the conversation between Catcher and hitter also natural here. You see a little bit of that in Major League which we previously discussed but they felt a little bit more realistic in this case your now that I think about to a rom com almost a perfect format for baseball because baseball takes itself too seriously right so like just bringing laughs in general is always a good thing but also there's a romanticism about baseball right like this speech. Any gives the beginning of movie. I think it's very emblematic of the lot of people feel about baseball over this very romantic feeling of nostalgia Connecting philosophy and love and all that stuff like it felt very. It felt like it felt like a movie. Obviously a lot of people could watch but it also like a movie that was made for people who Love Baseball Best Fair. I mean the director on Sean Played Minor League Baseball. I I also like I. I like reading the Trivia part of IMDB. And I remember reading that. A lot of the extras in the movie was filmed in. Durham Chop. Durham Chapel Hill. Had Gone to a pink. Floyd concert like the night before and they are wearing dark side of the moon t shirts when they did it and I went. Oh Pink Floyd concert I think like the same year and I still remembered a man. I wish I could go back to those days while the concerts ever happen again Just so macho. We could go on and on about Chris. Any final thoughts on the historical perspective. Yeah it's a ridiculous field thing for me was the that that gets hit by the home and the game where you went to steak. Which is where I got my little. The squad cast from is was added for the movie. I actually thought that had been an original to. The Stadium is added for the movie. And they're not there but it may may on their after four the movie and they have kept synthetic shopped. It around Next week I believe is field of dreams which is fantastic so journal just off the top. Have you seen?.

My original was that the loser tomorrow night between our schools would have to give the PAC twelve update throughout the entire season. I think that's a fair bit. Should we add that that do the PAC twelve update the rest of the year. which pass pass is not good? I'll do it but maybe how state loses Nico hitting a game winning layup over pepper. The PAC twelve so far August PAC twelve is kind of back but then Oregon Oregon did not advert not Richard. Though no the game all right so those are the stakes. The loser has to book a Cameo with Greg and has to provide the PAC twelve update. Yes throughout the entire season one once a week we throw it to you. We say give us the update will give us a cab. Yeah you're supposed to have been watching. The Debbie Downer. Music does everything that's going in fact. Twelve of those are the stakes. We're looking forward to tomorrow night. "Have you seen this. I thought it's real creative. We're GONNA put one of these like pageant winning across a sash penises on it. Oh Jose another idea. We're GONNA have all going to be holding penises. It's just like what do you do. Show me something like straws and stuff. You're trying to declare struggle you ever run into while you're out with the boys and Bachelorette party comes to town on and then all of a sudden. They're asking you to take a picture with a big inflatable peanuts. I just wanted to come to sloppy joes right exactly and then there's always one friend. That's always really anti I socialize so it's like all the been married one game usually usually a lot of them are married but you know everyone's having fun. It's like we're having a Bachelorette. We getting let's get wild and then there's one friend. That's like judging everyone. I said I wanted to go. I don't quite understand what part you're angry with billy angry with the friend that's not having having fun or you angry with the sashes. Are you angry with billy's that friend a bachelor parties that judges everybody exactly what's happening here Chris. I'm just I'm trying to figure out what your argument is and to show me something new Bachelorette parties. Let me see a Bachelorette party and be like wow that's like. They're holding her on one of those like Aladdin things where like there's four corner like you know what I'm talking about. There's four corners and she's sitting on a lot of magic carpet. Yeah I know but it's like they're holding the magic carpet ARPAN. She's sitting on a magic carpet. Whatever you know what I'm talking? I know what you're talking about. Spades live right. Where do you get one of them? I mean but that at least would be like I've never seen that before like show only something different. Don't show me. Oh which one's the bride that one's the bride Oh. She's she's holding a penis Straw closes sal real quick. Let's go to a couple of calls as quick as we possibly can. Let's go to Alex Alex. You're on the Air FELLAS. I have a quite a few Husarova too long so yeah sickle cell actually isn't like a disease or anything it is for to protect you from malaria if he would come from Africa in fact that's that's very interesting yeah. Some people yeah now truth be told there was some editing in yesterday's local hours so what ended up in the local hour was just me any flatly saying only African Americans get sickle cell anemia and that's not quite the case but it's primarily affects them in terms of demographic breakdown John. There's a lot of other stuff that are just I work in a blood bank signed all this other crap but also easily was fantastic. He was my favorite player for the Tigers back in the day all star Game Tiger he he was in the Homerun Derby was yes. I thought Tony Clark was your tiger. That was in the home run guy. I mean he always over the right field wall but did make a homerun derby fun fact and he's so little yeah he had like ninety. Damien easily was really baseball player like Sunday and home runs at the break got him in and then by the time the Marlins have this cool little thing that I think the the Miami Heat had for a while with backup point guards where people would come here to sorta resuscitate their careers resuscitate and Damian easily was one of those that worked out really well. They'd come off the bench and be really effective plug and play guys how how in nineteen ninety eight was seventeen home runs enough to get you into the Homerun Derby. I doubt macguire Ninety Eight. He did it as a second. Baseman in seventeen home runs back down for a second basement. was you know a very solid number. I I feel like people are like forty. Five home runs at the All star break in one thousand nine hundred eighty. That's a lot of home runs real. I guess you know Ray Durham Top. Where where was the Durham? No I Chicago White Sox but in terms of home home run numbers the American league had really good second baseman around that time Robbie Alamo would always start art ray Durham and Damian easily would be the backups and the All Star game also. I got allison black me on twitter and this is fantastic. You'll never are okay so we've been talking about how the dog versus cat stuff on quite a bit and dog twitter's Kinda crazy like they really hate cats and allison is one of those people so there is a video going around with the cat sleeping on the kids safe in he like had breathing problems at night and he took a video and there's a cat to sleeping on his face causing that to breathe very well and so everyone was complaining thing. You know see this just like cats WANNA kill people people hate cats and all I did was post dog fatalities dot com list of all the people killed and she blocked Lockney for dog by Good Day Sir Ray don't twenty home runs yeah Ray Durham was in that seventeen nineteen twenty range range reader and was a very two all star games for Durham with the the shy sox six work the year through wow every durham solid solid baseball player and then did you wanna title with the giants thing you might have won a world series with the with the giants. What are your thoughts on Ray Durham? It's just the name man it makes me smile because it brings me back to that time. I think a more is a giant. You said White Sox I would've liked maybe that was later in his career would make more sense for my timing split like half of his career with Chicago Chicago half of his career with what years where he what's he with the giants he won a world series with the giants no-doubt doesn't three through two Dow's up eight that makes sense that is literally my baseball. Hey right there. Oh three to the world series I know he made a world series with the giants in that. They played the angels that was a good world series two dozen to San Francisco. SF Jarring Remember Raid Durham in one video game I think it was MVP oh five with the the Dow the John Dowd Mvp. I think didn't he have a weird batting stance where he's that lake up against one of those unique banning saints is so the first one that giants had a really good run with Bruce Bocce Hall of Famer Two Thousand Ten two thousand twelve two thousand fourteen. No Damn derm just miss out last year years. There's a wait a wait was his last year is last year was a week in an dammit got. What are your thoughts as reclosed us out on Sabbath Getting sanding ovation? Ask You guys about that. Like who do you guys want to win the world series because I was thinking that CC had one but he you did win one in two thousand nine with the Yankees. It feels like forever ago but he wanted his first year at the Yankees and like I'd never root for the Yankees but I'm like man. FCC One hundred his last year and Stanton one one like that'd be pretty cool even though I don't like the Yankees but now that I see that he's won one. I've switched on it. I'm like I don't want them to anymore. I was kind of I would've I would've said the brewers brewers Yelich I don't know maybe because my wife and stand go Yankees at this point. I don't know I don't really have a strong feeling. I really want the dodgers to do this. I never thought I'd say that I I was rooting for an and thank God it only lasted for like five minutes until I google than found that he actually had a ring sees a bath you that is standing. If you remember Raina Wing wintering whatever the dodgers have been so close for so long and I want the dodgers if only you want. I think that's good for the game for Kirsch validation. Yeah I want them to hold a two capone. Stu Gods don't use anymore no no man. That's like me to relate to kids using something from two thousand PSI help the kids your phone anybody today. I I hope Cleveland Wins God. I love the plague when a championship Oh that's that's interesting. TWINKIES can match their team yeah. It'd be nice for them to win. They had that run in the early two thousand. I don't like when the world series it's too cold though there yeah when everyone's like wearing the very heavy jackets it's like bishop. What's the big race coming down the stretch? It's the AOL wild card race right. I think there's a wildcard is interesting too big markets are tied for the wild cursive visions with the exception of the NFL central or pretty locked up like nine and a half games in analysts is going to be hard to come back from the West is already decided is decided. I believe yes. I'll central's four games for I don't know Yeah Oakland's back in it. When I was talking about Tampa Bay in Cleveland or tie cards Yeah Oakland seems like two games up with not many left so Oakland San up they three team race for the AOL wildcard is nine and a half by Boston is not going to be now well? I guess you could say the mets are still in it three and a half back but the nationals brewers and cubs are all listen to so nationals wildcard spot they're up a game on the brewers were still in the suspect the injury and then right after that man you've got some really big markets so dylan. This Chicago Mets Philadelphia. The brewers have a negative run differential. That's surprising yeah wow negative twenty one. They're they're in their last CENSO-. They've played really well with yellow todd. Hey Luke.

"A bunch of money on car insurance. It's so that was good and so was hanging out with his grandson. It's the lower on a Friday and you know we did an opening segment there and we talked about a lot of local sports news but we miss out on the headline. That was one big sports story last night that we absolutely need to get to donny baseball is back. Don Mattingly left earned earned an extension with the Miami Marlins as Roy said he never left but he's guarantee coming back because he's done such a great job with this club Billy Gill are you excited jumping for joy every now dinesh baseball. How long is the deal? I don't think it's come out yet right. I think it's reported to be like two years. As what I saw I would say the two years. Is there window like for how long they expect this rebuild to take right like maybe they think that they're two years away and he'll get one year of the new team and what they think will be good and then if it doesn't work out because why would you. I don't understand this at all like fire him like this is it honestly doesn't it's on firing him. If his contract comes to an end just letting him that's true. I I've go- honestly who cares always lost two two hundred games in two seasons like what right who's going to do better who's GonNa do right. I've I've always thought he's fine. When you watch the game see you know he's not he's not a bad manager and and he has no talent right now so he can't really be to blame for this so lets you know what the hell like? What the hell else are you going to do? He's approaching I especially with this extension is is he approaching the most tenured status yeah and he has the most wins the marlins manager no yeah he already has the most wins as managers last six games here I would have thought mckeon lasted a little bit and then he came back now. mckeon I think was like two years or something three years and then he came. What are we talking longest tenured with the marlins longest tenured with two years also before that it was Freddy Gonzalez Fredi Gonzalez the all time that makes sense yeah? I was here for a while. I would say Rene also probably there. I think we're really laxman. Only like the first two seasons. John Bull feels like a lifetime here though bill that's shocking that that they sign this extension because I didn't think don mattingly whenever he was asked about. It didn't really seem like he was crazy about the idea of saying here either. It's not like I want to be here. I don mattingly honestly has a ton of suitors. What did he do at the dodgers? I don't WANNA I don't WanNa be the guy that's like pooping on Don Mattingly today but like he had really talented team with the dodgers and didn't really do anything Dave Roberts came in the next year and took him to the world series. Basically it's been in the playoffs. He feels to me like one of these life or managers. That'll end up managing aging like six hall of fame or something like that yeah well. We're celebrating. Bruce Bozize's two thousand win well. Why don't we celebrate two thousand loss like three weeks ago? So you seem upset by this. It doesn't make a difference whoever they have in there like Don Mattingley not don mattingly like if they're not improving moving the product on the field what differences make who the manager is well row fat AS Roma's roses. Get an extension yeah so like you're finally you're finally keeping even the nucleus together instead of selling off parts. You're saying we're keeping some people around here because the rebuild has already also to your extension though yeah you you don't think this is over by next year. Yeah I think they're going to go from losing a hundred and five games to making the play so how is Derek jeter go to sell two more years of this this crap to people I don't know I don't know what they're gonNA do. When's the next time he's supposed to speak to the media? We demand answers. What answers did you honestly honestly? There are some answers he could give you that he could hold up as wins. He's like okay we got. Jj who looks like he can be everything we want him to be down. The right one based off of is good as he could possibly be. Let's see so far. How is he actually doing like he can't go to the majors like in the first two months of like Aquino what what a what could he have done more to impress you? Jj blood at this point nothing jesuit. He can't do anything to impress me this point. He's been in the system for like two months right but he looks like if you've seen him hitting. This dude looks like he's going to be a good hitter. This guy looks legit. I mean it's two months of lower minor league baseball right and but in college he was good dude. I all I can do is look at what he's doing doing like a magic power. You seem bummed. How can we how can we turn this around? Is there anything at all that you can get excited about because I feel like you've you've had some peaks and Valleys Valley's. You're in a one point. That's Marlin season. You're a little bit more positive than you are right now. You're very negative. You were sitting in ninety nine losses last year they had ninety nine losses and they had a game cancelled which stop them from losing one hundred games. I don't know the pitching is good. I mean maybe we'll turn the corner with the pitching. Let's see if they they make acquisitions or if they I mean. Do you think that they're going to add pieces to the team because I don't know though I gotTa Start Right. I don't know I feel like they might be like go through one one more year of just showing off. I'll say no not selling. I don't know if they're at the point where it's like. We're a few pieces away like I would say. Maybe at this time time next year. Maybe a little earlier next year. What point do you start? Getting pieces is kind of a waste. WHO's a left on the roster? That's probably like okay. We maximize what we can get. that let's sell off right now so we can get some value back Dr Caleb Smith. He's probably at that point in his career where he might not be a part of this. I don't know these planes going for. I mean I could see them adding some pieces this off season if they think that a lot of their young guys are you know in the next year so we're going to really take the step like now cantatas like I know he was an all star this year but but even more. I don't know it's tough. It's a tough thing to do because you want to wait until the last possible second to add those big pieces because then you get more time with them so it's so you need pieces pieces right as a thing like we need pieces right to build right with. We need like stars or someone to lie so these prospects can the accident instead is host ballooning Megobroba has is the team leader and he's a good clubhouse guy from all reports. Do you think the go row houses is someone that would-be starting on a playoff team I mean no. I think Miguel row houses like so it's nice that he was signed to an extension. It's nice that they have like the leader in their clubhouse coming back for two more years right to help the young guys but like at a certain point you need more than just good clubhouse people. I'm trying to think of the positions that they I don't really have a good prospect coming like you know what I mean like. They're not going to go out and sign a big catcher because they think El Faro. Is there catchable different coming off right and you know they're not. I can assign a corner guy because you got Brian Anderson so it's like I don't i. I think Brian Anderson's the first guy that they'll lock up next behind me go. I was like an actual guy. They're gonNA give some see I'm not saying he's going to get like hundreds of millions of dollars or anybody on here. That gets a sweetheart like yellow steel. That's young that we lock up or that's what I would have said. We that's the kind of delighted I would have thought Brian Interesting would've gotten this year or maybe like coming up but you know he's actually been decent so roy took Claire to play baseball yesterday I did during the weekend I just took it to a park in through the baseball around and it was Nice Day. You can catch catch it but she's wondering how to throw now righty all righty well. She chose to be ready. S With my daughter. I've already been convinced throwing wise. She's ready because she cannot throw their left hand or are you teaching teaching her the underhand throwing motion or you know not really teaching her out of Dodi just gave ball and she picked it up over hammering motion that's going on. He thinks she can play Major League baseball like maybe this is a regular monet. Davis players throw base. I'm just saying like softball player off your hand. I I don't know if she's a pitcher and you know. Generally boys play baseball girls play softball over. Here's throw throw from the outfield base. We have a softball Dow's big for her to pick up with one hand so you're working your way up. How do you find out if your kid is right handed or left handed? That seems like one one of those things. It's just difficult learned. I don't know I don't think so I just decided to let her choose and she used to be more dominant with her. No she would throw with her right but then I put the ball in her left hand just like this and let's see what you got and like you can tell why shows goes to the right like she's feeling and more with the right. Maybe she could use both hands. That's that's determined to be. I remember getting so mad at Lewis Cassia when he was like a switch hitter but he was so much better from power is the right Blake and you always thought like a guy right handed every time sixty two home runs yeah yeah. Let's break a home wrecker to like I did from the right side Yup I his swing always looked so ugly from the left side like he was trying to be a switch and I'm like you're not and you know he was a switch hitter or just because he lined up on both sides but he was so much better from the percentage wise says a lot better from the average wise one hundred percent Mike. It's just power. You're you're not wrong on that yeah. It's every time it but just looking at pop I would say this is before I got into stats and I was just at the game I thought Damian easily was the greatest hair because due to come in as a pinch hitter Mike that was this guy's average like two four. I had this guy's average must be a time with you on having dame easily phase where it's like. Bring this guy into hit. He Oh you got hurt the season..

"Of the purchases now when you go out you can't Jim what's in your wallet terms of plot. It's the shipping container frequent with you on a Friday now. I've been saying for a couple of weeks now that this cowboys game is a trap game for them and the dolphins actually have a chance to compete in this game first half and I kind of think the whole game but if you're betting it I definitely think you can nail the first half but I think in general the dolphins cover this Sunday there. I said it but there have been a few wrinkles thrown in here that could make this a little different won. The rose was in is apparently starting the dolphins have officially said it yes the Rosena sorting. Yes Oh Rosen the Rosen one. That's what we call them now. This is a podcast over time you're hearing this he might be officially tamed starter but we're doing this in the morning and he's not being officially named but everyone's reporting it so he definitely is gonNA probably be starting who's starting right definitely probably right but they haven't said it. It's just all the Repu starting right so and the other one is drew. BREES is injured and the reason that this was a trap game is because the cowboys play in Primetime against the saints next week. Oh the correze being out but it still primetime game. I think they're still going to be up for it so I still think it's a trap game. I'm just saying there's a few wrinkles. I am so excited to see what Sean Payton does with his quarterbacks at Seattle. That's I think it's a really fun Sunday slate of games that game to me because they're already talking that we don't have a true replacement for drew brees. We're going to go CO quarterbacks and people love them. Some tatum hill people them some guy and he's got. He's got a lot of Tibo right. Oh Yeah Yeah and the the versatility I think they're going to do all sorts of wacky things with him. I'm I'm taking saints plus four and a half. I just want action on this Kooky little game. You should put it on the poll at Lebatardshow do you put action on Games aims just so that you can watch Kooky little games like the one with the saints that you wouldn't normally watch unless brees was playing speaking of action. Everyone's talking about out to you know Gardiner minhsiu arriving solid game from him. I went to bed with five minutes left in that game plan Leonard Fournette and fantasy and I was cruise cruise. I'm sorry I don't know what happened. I just went to the box score. All you had sixty six total rushing yards in a long of sixty nine nights. I don't know like how that run happened. That's what happened. He had a long run. I was all cocky and going to bed and talking so much shit and came back to buy me but Joe Buck the whole night was just like Wolf Wolf this game for four net and then he had that rods like all right his nights better definitely adamant fantasy but did you guys see the two lane Houston game. That was the football all game night so the score thirty eight thirty one to lane what happened they came all the way back they were down like three scores to was favored by four and a half points. They're in a tight a game. They have the ball at their own thirty five forty and they're about to take a knee sending this game to overtime against Houston fake news fake knee eh they run that fake news about fifteen yards to get them around midfield and very next play pass down the middle of the field to about the twenty yard line bad tackling dude dude scoots into the end zone to lane win and cover it when it's four and a half there was like three guys that should have tackled. That wasn't just one guy that MRS tackle it was like how much time oh on that probably they ran the fake news with like you know thirteen seconds left by the time the guy went out of bounds shitting me that is an all time bad beat gatty buddy who had Houston plus four imagine you probably go into the bathroom when you see two lane lineup to take a knee at their own like just dreading losing in overtime one of those overtime vets where you've got got the game the whole game you bet used and you felt good about it and then you lose because six points in overtime yeah they were they were Houston was indeed three scores at one time so you I thought you were cruising that entire game at the very least like okay. Let me settle in. We're going to go to overtime here. Whatever there's still a chance he can cover with overtime roles but I'm in for the long on call fake Ne- next pass touchdown three missed tackles too late? There's the fake never work. I know Marino did the fake spike has the fake knee ever worked with thought about the fake knee. No one's actually done the fake any that I've seen oh I have seen people like gather up for and the quarterback just sneaks it but this was full on play. Hey we're dude had nice blocking bounce it to the outside and then the very next play no tackling it was a crazy finish and it should be the only football game people talk about. I'm good on the officials not to blow the whistle because I feel like if you see that step formation you're like I just WanNa get ready to you. Know what you gotTA. Do you know what you gotTa do in that situation. Someone needs to talk to an official yeah we're planning on doing. This actually probably did happen. Yeah I guarantee you. They talked to official man up all hooker that Mike Making a guarantee on the Houston about about the issue I promise you someone said something of an official Haywar running fake me here. Don't be fooled. Was it to lane or Tulsa. I always get the two lane with BUTYL uniforms Ormes. You see the waiver. Just bring it on the uniform front fake Ni four and a half. I wish I had actually I just didn't take any action Lhasa. How how? How much were you hurting? If you watch that jags titans game because of reasons like Mike you've got someone in fantasy or if you got you got an over bet and and you got to watch that crap all night where the jags fourteen nothing and you know what that point this game is over the game is finished. Mariota can't stay healthy for two consecutive touchdown drives like that's not going to happen so you know it's over you got that score with four minutes left in the first quarter and the rest of the way you get to more you get you know you get six points on Jacksonville side and one point six seven points on the Tennessee side. This comes courtesy save at NFL Research Marcus Mariota has been sacked seventeen times through the first three weeks of the season. That's most single quarterback has been sacked through week three since two thousand in in two and David Carr and Marcus Mariota is one of the more mobile quarterbacks. We've seen I'm telling you he got out of several sax last night. Every time nine that do dropped back to pass the line. Got Absolutely Nucleus Campbell started the season soil was a man last night or that guy that guy Chris for some reason came in here yesterday in which just saying to me out of nowhere there was no there was no segue Christie said. Do you know how big callejas Campbell is because I did make the mistake of thinking of him. As the defensive end he was at the University of Miami when he was also very tall but hadn't grown into his body and and so yesterday I made a point that Aaron Donald was more menacing not as a player but just as a physical human being and Chris comes in here and says he's six seven three three hundred Dan how basics don't short the monster at university Miami he was one of these like agile quick guys and since then his arms have grown into tree trunks. He is a terrifying terrifying man. Did you know Aaron Donald. I think has gone this last five games without a sack pressures has a league figured it out or is it just a random occurrence find out Sunday night football. It's everyone throwing it within a half a second of the snap in order to avoid the fact that he's urinating on on their center yet there was something to watch from last night's. NFL game if you were a dolphin fan I saw Armando tweet about this. The dolphins are apparently in on having conversations about Jalen Ramsey really yeah. What does that do for you because yes I know the plan is to tank and acquire assets? That's a damn good asset. This is one of the elite corners the League. You'RE NOT GONNA be guaranteed to draft a player that good right Oh but mike that seems a super shortsighted where he's good look. I'm not saying I'm not saying he's not excellent and I'm not saying he's not still in his prime and may even get better. I'm saying that's about to be a weighty weighty Wadey contract and they just got rid of minkah Fitzpatrick. I don't know how good Minka was or wasn't I don't know what their evaluation Minka was or wasn't but the steelers think he's good enough and valuable enough at that contract it would've made sense to keep Minka more than it would have made sense to trade for Jalen Ramsey. You think I'm wrong about that. No now I know actually do think you're wrong about that. Jalen Ramsey is on a different stratosphere. We know what he does really well. We still haven't figured out what making Fitzpatrick does really well except be versatile and he himself itself doesn't want to be versatile in fact. They're putting him at safety. I've read from reports sealers camp. which is what he doesn't want to do? The dolphins have an insane amount of money to suspend. I know that they just signed exerting our to the highest cornerback deal and whatever Jalen Ramsey gets. It's got to be higher than Xavien Howard. You got money to spend hell. I have read reports. Mary Kay Cabinet reported that the browns are in on Jalen Ramsey and you look at the browns roster and like how do they have the money but it's not just money money and huge assets for a team. That's going going nowhere that you're probably going to waste his next year. Well what's reported as an acid is. They're obviously looking for a first round draft pick. They're looking for too. Yeah we'll see about that's the thing if it's it's the dolphins or just enquiring and willing to give one of these first round picks. I'm willing but one of those first round picks and then sign with all that cap space yeah. I'm good. He's he's got some power here just like clowning did though if he wants to stay in the state of Florida because he could just say I'm not signing an extension. I'm not if you trade these assets for me. it can only be contingent contingent on me signing an extension. It's the way the football players are trying to grab at that basketball power yeah that would be his leverage in this situation. I I certainly think it's conversation tation worth having if it if it caused you just one of your first round draft picks because the chances are you're not going to get someone as good as Jalen Ramsey what.

"Pass up in here. This is the foul shot high rebound the flooded into the hands of Carter. Here comes Peter kiss off the pass up the near sideline stops throwing up. Top me guarded by Smith. Couple of dribbles picks up give to McConnell Caleb on the far sideline. Looking for space. Finding Marie in the left corner. Eugene spitting on the baseline guarded by Smith. Ours is way in any walked. Five turnovers half for Rutgers. Yep. Head for the game. The shame of that is he was in so deep it would have been an easy to you at that point. Fantasy gets screened from Davis works to the right? Come back to the nearside. Now. Davis left to the lane guarded by Carter shack hands in the air. And Davis goes right around in the puts it in. Davis is you cheese. Six ten to fifty five and he's all of that Anderson in the game for Indiana kiss. Has it gets to the paint dockside Durham right into the face of Davis? Lob the ball down low Carter catches shoots Powell to kinda got himself caught underneath the basket. So perhaps a bailout foul Carter will go to the line with Rutgers trailing seventy to fifty Davis picks up the foul. That's his third foul teams. Eight. So Carter to the line where today four for four accounting for all four of his points. The first free throw is good one of the rim off the glass and went through Lankford returns for Indiana. So does Durham physi- is out and Anderson after a short little bursts, come back out Jerry talk about where this program is Indiana near pregame talk just think about this and saying look we walked twice to Rutgers. Progresses program has made struggling today. Second free. Throw was good for Carter. Eighteen point game. Seventy to fifty two hoosiers eight thirty to play here in the second the low pressure here. Indiana breaks through it bu-but, right? Lankford wide open corner threes. Good marches lead of the game. Now twenty one Indiana seventy three fifty two. Twenty to go with the second. Best shot. He needs to be a good throw a tunnel. Hit foul. So Caleb will go to the free throw line in shoot a pair. He's got ten points on the afternoon three of five before three line. Good aggressive move. That time got the ball and head of the circle on the right side and just cross dribbled and drove into the lane. And just shot the ball over top of green is a little smaller than he is at six three. Second foul on green. There comes McConnell, I two I went up and no good. Rutgers has done a good job on the line today. Fifteen of twenty. They're coming in. They were six and two in big ten play when they shot nineteen or more free throws second one good for McConnell while they've done that today, but they find themselves down by twenty seventy three to fifty three. The problem is the other shut twenty six of them. Way to play in the second green on the left side shovel pass up topper Davis. He's not gonna shoot that. Hand the ball off the Durham top of the key the lob down low for green catches and spins it in a beautiful play. Excellent play there. Indiana continues to build on their largest lead. Now, twenty two seventy five fifty three. Marie driving on the left lane. The left to the lane has poked way behind into the hands of green in the front court has the shot blocked away by McConnell quit on it. And we get a timeout Indiana bowl and the other side of the break, delete seventy five fifty three Rutgers basketball learfield. IMG college. Bye. Zero sugar with great coke taste. Can.

"In community engagement from a transactional way or one time. Volunteer opportunities to having a more comprehensive approach to ask. What does it look like to be a good neighbor in Durham in every aspect of life one of the events they organize an I dearly love to do. This is. The Derm pilgrimage of pain and hope we got together and said, what would it look like to offer an opportunity for people in Durham to go on pilgrimage not to some far away place like mecca or the holy land or the Camino. But what does it look like to go on pilgrimage right here in our own city. What does it look like to see our own city as a sacred place, and we crafted this spiritual journey of exploring the story of Durham, and how it connects with our own stories in God's story. What are a couple of examples of people who've shaped the city of Durham, one of the most inspiring people for the pilgrimage participants is Virginia Williams, she was part of the nineteen fifty seven Royal ice cream sit in and she still lives in Durham, and what was that event? So the world ice cream parlor was ice cream. Parlor that was whites. Only parlor, they they. Did African Americans ice cream in the back door, but they couldn't sit down and they had to come to just stand at the back door to get ice cream. So miss Williams and six hundred people made up the Royal seven who are the people who agreed to walk through the doors when they swung open and go straight to the counter and sit down and say, I would like some ice cream, please. And another example, another is elder John black feather Jeffries, and he is one of the elders at the oaken achieve band of this opponent nation. That's one of the native American tribes that inhabited this area before it was colonized. And so he shares about his story and the story of his family and his people, and that's how we start the pilgrimage is to hear about that history. Dorm cares is a religious organization. Yes. So our one of our main values is that we are motivated and guided by the life and work. Oh, Jesus Christ inspired by the parallel of the good Samaritan, which is really a parable about the religious outside or getting the religious insiders to be motivated to do. Good for their neighbors. We're very welcoming of other faiths and people have no faith to participate in the work that we're doing no Christians as well. As all kinds of other communities are very divided. You have some Christians who are deeply conservative others who are who are very liberal. Do you? Deal in any way with with those differences. Yes. Yeah. And that's a lot of fun. It's not so fun sometimes too. But we bring together churches, not based on commonality necessarily of political persuasion or commonality of denominational persuasion, but we gather them based on place. So we have a place based cohort of churches in the eastern area where we bring together churches that share the same area to help them. Learn about what each other doing in the community, and those are very different organization. Right. And that's the thing when you when you gather people around place, then you can have that commonality of we hear the same sounds. We see the same people we experienced the same weather. You might have rain on one side of Durham, but not on the other side of Durham..
