But anthony durell guy that you know wasn't questioned during one of the tyson. Fury fights as to being part of that tyson fury team while he's now in a picture. Tyson fury a very bulky. Tyson fury very muscular tyson fury tyson fury came into the rematch with deontay wilder. At two hundred seventy four pounds and he did look a bit solve but that extra weight caused all the problems that we see in that fine. Now he's bulking up that way. Is he gonna move better. Is it going to slow him down. And he's going to get robotic as he likes to question and sees. Aj bad news for a while because he's getting stronger. What we're gonna be talking about the fact that it looks like fury's in can't four that fight. We know johnny nelson adam smith and a few others have been letting the cat out the bag that they feel that. This fight is going to happen. That fury has let it out he will be signing those contracts so looking like wow. The fury threes imminent. Fury's already in training camp in miami. And i'm just saying he looks bulky is hell.

"It's like is magic. So where did this go then count? Aren't you playing baseball today? I was riding that wave and went from being a passion to actually want to play and have chances of being signed by Major League club to just having opportunities to play internationally, and then seeing new cultures, new lands and. New Countries, so it shifted like my whole persona, because in the states in the whole baseball system, not going to get into it, but it's there's kids who can do what I do at eighteen years old when I'm twenty seven, you know and they're just more youthful, and even though twenty seven is not old, but in the sports world. You get enough there. That's prime, so I understood that. I understood the business. Aspects was like you know. Let this thing. Baseball has gotten me so far. Maybe my major leagues is going to Australia going to Japan meeting this person. Because all the knows that I got in the past like they led to all these, yes, is going to these different places and people that I still talk to now like actual family. I've been to this baseball pretty much set. The stage should be traveling to over forty countries, not playing in all them would just the fact like I was out there in the world is so transformed to that I love how you told. I heard a new story emerging that my major leagues was playing. Minor League Ball in Japan and Australia and Hawaii like. Yeah, that's really profound. Mana a tell a new story. If you don't like the store you live in telling the story. Exactly they'll tell a better story. and. That's profound so okay, so you're traveling all these cultures. When I got out of the military twenty six. You know I put on a backpack. I was dead to the world man I was useless in my mom. Mental states put on a backpack went, jumped over to Europe and man. The next few years was a whirlwind of I was in Egypt and Australia and India and all over Europe and so I'm curious what's happening to you, so you're now traveling experiencing all these different cultures. What's happened if you in that like what starting to awaken in you? Human connection and the human condition, and seeing how I've been in this bubble of America, do these things, and and as the saying goes, life goes on. It's literally going on in the world around us all the time in such unique way so. For example, let's say gonNA. Japan like with my former club, seeing how people live their seeing the structures architecture, the foods the colors. I'm like my brain is just taking off like wow, this is literally happening as I'm in America like in the weight room, and so just meeting these people and then going going to Bali for the first time meeting. People who don't have much people say that they're poor. They're not pull a lot of these people that are broke financially, but they're not poor. Poor to me is an emotional state so I met these people who would give me their shirt off their back in the last polarize and I'm like wow, well, actually doing this to them, but they're doing this to me with open arms, not expecting anything in return. Why so that? That was like just shifting something in my mind, and like this out your wisdom type of DNA Strand, my body of life man. We're all the same underlying like people smile and people WANNA be loved..

"I guess validated seen as a child so I just kept going and it was Super Fun for me just to Smash Baseball. Whatever emotionally I might have been through as a child like with everything I found homage in baseball in that game so glad, Magin also imagine also just want to like when you're that age and you do something that the adults celebrate. It's like there's a big reward there i. mean you get love you. Give validation. You get this sort of like the benediction from the adults that wow, he's special. S to build that into it right? Yes, Super! Yeah, that's absolutely that's that's what it was. So validation was coming from actual physical thing, which later on didn't. Serve me as as well as it should have, but yeah so I just kept it. It was a fun thing and I enjoyed it, and I was unique, and where I was where I was from because I was only one playing baseball like, but I remember on my stuck with it through a play travel ball I did all those things that the American kids might do if they're in a sport and I was about seventeen, and I was a senior in high school I was in high school in Jersey and I remember. I was going to showcases. Yankee Scouts will coming to see me. White SOx scouts diamondbacks scouts coming to see me in high school. Go into their tryouts, and then give me forms to fill out so a pre-draft question ear, and all these kinds of physicals, so I was like in the in the mix, and this is this is literally a first experience for everybody. My family and I remember the day draft a I believe it was June seventh like two, thousand, five or six one of those days and going to school. Everybody had expectation that I was going to be drafted. Even if it was going to be late rounds, but I was going to be drafted. and. I remember the draft beginning Adm. nothing I kept checking now. We didn't have a cell phone at that time, so I was like taking the computer in the school I going. To See like Internet they buy three PM was over I didn't get a call and get a message to get anything I. Remember that feeling of shame when I went home to my dad all although he didn't put any pressure on me to be drafted, that was me putting on myself, but I wanted to be this kind of like. Not only with 'em with my family. Financially like all these things I had this whole thing out, so that was like a huge letdown. And what age are you right now? You've probably like seventeen. Eighteen sixteen I was at like seventeen seventeen seventeen right before going to college as right at the age that we want to be the hero, yes, played a hero, absolutely and looking back now I realize playing baseball. Yes, I enjoyed it but I was in it more for two zero to be savior for my family to be the one who.
Shock and outrage as White House says next G-7 summit will be at Trump property
"There was widespread today my Mick Mulvaney announced that Donald Trump was in fact going to force the US government and other major governments around the world to pay money by hosting the g seven corral golf resort next year is the Washington Post puts it quote that decision is without precedent in modern American history. The president used his public office to direct a massive contract himself but here's the thing Durell could really use it we're bringing someone who knows more about trump's other business interests than just about anyone he's reporting on all the best three years on a Pulitzer for his invested into the President David Farren hold is great to have you here David let's start with the significance of Durrell which unlike some other properties it's not licensed it's it's it's real directly part of the presence main business holdings correct it is basically the keystone of Donald Trump's entire hospitality Gulf hotel business it produces more revenue for him every year than any hotel or golf course and he has one of its biggest loans on if you were to pick one property the donald trump's financial health dependent on this would be it very levered I mean he's got he owes people money on it he was don't you bank the original one was for one hundred twenty five million dollars to Deutsche Bank it's one of his biggest loans now you tweeted about how it's been doing and the vacancy rate typically in the summer you said the summit will be held in June Miami's hot drills usually emptying 2017 only thirty eight percent rouse rooms were occupied this is one of derails worst month so you're bringing a huge amount of business to resort at a time that is over all not doing very well financially but you're bringing it to this resort at a time when it needs that money the most as you saw Durell June is the second slowest month for Durell only August is worse they're occupancy rate is under forty percent so even if trump just charged the cost which we have no idea if he's going to but even if he didn't try to make a profit on each individual room he's filling the resort at a time it'll be mostly empty rats are great point you also noted that it has not been doing well recently this is not this is not a facility that is on the upswing no in the opposite we got some data that the trump organization itself provided to Miami Dade County that shows that between Twenty fifteen and twenty seven uh-huh span of just two years net operating income dropped seventy percent at this resort that's a huge drop at a time when every other resort in Miami is basically doing the same and the reason we saw video where a representative from the trump organization was talking to the county about why it was doing poorly in she laid the blame directly on trump she said the brand is doing really that's why this place is severely underperforming so you've okay so you've got the crown the crown jewel of his enterprise the brings in the most revenue at a time when it is vacancy rate is under four eight percent and at a time when the revenue and and use of the place the prophet is going down because of the negative brandon impacts of his presidency and what does this mean g seven's a big deal right like a lot of money is going to get spent there just to give you a sense of the scale of this thing I talked to somebody who had planned the last g seven that the US had at a private event which was in two thousand and four in Georgia they served forty five thousand meals during that week they took over this resort for ten days they pay three million dollars in two thousand and four money it's hundreds of people thousands of people that can't even allstate draft to stay at other places but you're talking about an enormous event between security diplomats journalists and the leaders themselves there's also there's also been some health problems at Toronto Daily Be Story from twenty one thousand nine about a rat infestation problem and route situation it has it has had some challenges well this year has been a good year for them they haven't had any any health code violations that's good news and our leaders who will be staying there and hopefully not norovirus but they have had in years past not that long ago they've had problems with the health code called euphemistically small live flying insects insects and other kinds of cleanliness issues in a number of kitchens at Durrell is there any I mean how how is this legal I mean honestly if anyone who's ever out there watching has ever interacted with federal contracting you know that it is one of the most common me that just complicated a legal thicket and incredibly complex process there are thousands of people throughout the government who work on it this seems to fly in the piece of every single policy there is for federal contracting but that's what's interesting about this is one of the few things which by tradition the didn't get to eat to circumvent the entire contracting process they don't put out a request for proposal evaluate bids the president sort of does this secret and then the White House just chooses a place this is Tom was never designed with the idea that the president might choose his own place so this is a case for trump has sort of unfettered unrestricted power to give the contract to whoever he wants and holy gave it to himself we'll see now in the next few weeks hopefully it'll be a little more transparency about what it looks like but they're going to be any scrutiny on the front end my favorite Presley it was a tr- Presley's I blink quoting trump from the trump works and they were honored that they were selected for this which is a really incredible piece the use of language David well thank you as always for your fantastic

"When Darren went to go see Durell it wasn't a planned visit. He said he just decided to pop up there and when he was there he said Durell offered offered him a job. According to Darren Durrell said he and their other brothers to Fawn we're doing a painting and dry wall job that Wednesday two days later and that they'd pay Darren if he'd help out Stefan worked as a manager construction company but Darren said he got the impression they were proposing an off the books kind of job. Darren said he'd never worked a side job with his brothers before but he could use the cash. The plan was to meet up early that Wednesday morning near where Stefan worked a construction shop called P. C.. M. Services in Prince George's County Maryland Darren said he was in so on May thirteenth there and said he woke up early like usual except this time he wasn't looking for work. He had a job to go to Darren said he was waiting for his brother's outside. The construction shop when Durrell just Terrell walked up to his van and told him there had been a change of plans they no longer br needed Darren's help after all they just wanted to borrow his van and they'd pay him for it three hundred Bucks Darren said he was disappointed. He wouldn't be working but he handed Terrell the keys to his van anyway. I Darren said Durell drove him to a house in Silver Spring Maryland Darren testified. He didn't know this house. He'd never been there before. Durrell went inside for a few minutes and then came back out. We'll tell you more about that visit later but just know that that stop is going to be crucial to Darren's defense and then after shopping at the house in Silver Spring. Darren said Durell didn't drop them off back at his dad's house. We already heard his stepmother testify. That Darren was nowhere to be found on. May Thirteenth and Fourteenth of two Thousand Fifteen Darren testified that he asked Durrell to drop him off at Ed's house but who's Ed that was a name we'd never heard before not an opening statements not in the three year long police investigation leading up to Darwin trial. All of the reporters in the courtroom perked up when Darren mentioned Ed an alibi witness for Darren went the seemed like potentially major revelation so who is at Darren said was an older guy who lived in South East D._C.. Behind a tire shop on Atlantic street he said Ed had worked in His van a couple times and he knew Ed's was sort of hang out spot so with the job falling through and nothing nothing else to do that day. He decided to go there now remember. We've already told you that Darren's normally active facebook account went completely silent starting may thirteenth. Here's his explanation for that. Darren said Durell drove him ED's house he hopped out of the van and Durrell drove off before Darren realized he left his cell phone inside the van. Darren said he was basically stuck at Ed's house. He didn't have any way of contacting his brothers then he wasn't expecting Durrell to come back to pick them up until about five or six that night but that time came and went he said Durell never showed at some point that evening being Darren said Ed offered him a drink Ed was smoking marijuana which Darren said he didn't do but he did take it up on his offer for a drink he thought it was vodka the next thing he knew he started to feel sick and went to lie down on the couch inside Ed's house basically. He said he passed out. He said he woke up some time in the middle of the night around one A._M.. And then fell back asleep the next time he woke up it was after ten in the morning inning Darren said he went outside and then a blue convertible porsche pulled up Durrell was behind the wheel at this point in Darren's testimony. The court took a break for lunch so <unk> I quickly snapped a picture of my notes email them to Jack and then give them a call to catch him up Darren's testimony. I mean who who is. This person Ed. We just we his address the Sixteen Atlantic street that's where he said we we had a lot of questions if this was true Ed could take the stand and provided alibi for Darren her part of May Thirteenth and fourteenth when this vocalist family and Bureau Figueroa were held captive and then killed as reporters Jack Jack and I were trying to keep an open mind but we kind of wondered whether Ed was even real no one had ever heard of this person before and Ed sounded kind of generic. We didn't even know his last name convenient that he was at a a friend's house without a phone drunk and passed out when the majority of this is happening and lead. They're going to call Ed <hes> as one of the witnesses at this point. Jack was only reading my notes from Darren Wins Testimony Simoni. He wasn't in the courtroom so I did my best to describe what Darren was like on the stand after the ferry was out of the courtroom judge was like you really need to speak up like we can't understand what you're saying. You're mumbling. You really need to speak up. which I thought was interesting? I mean I he was mumbling a little bit but it's sort of the wait cost kind of almost like a like a Frie- his voice like it Kinda I the like I don't know is low. I think he's nervous to keep wiping his eyes and I don't know if he's not like crying like there's no respiratory there's no breathing in deeply or any kind of like hitching his voice or anything but he's he's wiping his eyes and duty pilot asked him at one point. Are you okay and he said yes Ma'am Yeah but I think I honestly think though this maybe okay back to Darren story before we broke for lunch. Darren had told the courtroom that on the morning of May fourteenth he walked out of Ed's house and saw durell drive up in that fancy Porsche. Darren was a little fuzzy on the time but he said it was definitely some time after ten in the morning now we already know based on some of the other evidence we've told you about how on that same morning at eleven forty seven Darren Type Twenty four th and k into his phone. What was his explanation for that Darren said when Durrell pulled up in that Porsche he handed Darren his phone the phone Darren said he left in the van the day before and when Darren asked where his van was does he said Durell told him it was parked at twenty four th and k streets in downtown D._C.? Darren said he typed those cross streets into an empty message bubble on his phone so he wouldn't forget so they pull away in the Porsche. Darren said he thought Durrell was taking him to his van but once inside he said Durell told him they actually still had some work to finish up and he needed Darren's help. Darren said he was feeling hung over. He was starving he. He's still hadn't eaten anything but he said Durell wouldn't stop for food. He said there'd be food where they were going which turned out to be woodland drive when.
European Election Results Show Growing Split Over Union's Future
"Talking through the European parliament election results talking where we've heard a bit about the green surge. We'll talk more about that. We'll talk about those two mainstream party, groupings falling back somewhat, but we'll also talk about some of the nationalist parties. The eurosceptic parties and populist parties, different descriptions, for different one for the mixed pictures, we've been saying for the men, the hustle among us. You now here in France coming first in the poll, but also only polling around about the same as they did last time, proportionately and only getting around the same number of seats. That's also talk about Italy and bring in the BBC's new McGovern who's in Rome, looking at the fortunes of Matteo, Salvini party mornings, your should've saved one German and one journo van that good to have. Have all your listeners with us here in the eternal city in Rome, what we did is we did a quick sprint by the Vatican to get a few newspapers. Let's have a look with my guest Francesco Beck is how Mr. Matteo Salvini off the league party how it is being transmitted and communication. But just before we go to those headlines, I want to take a moment because he had an impromptu, press conference Matteo Salvini. He came out with thirty plus we're getting up to about thirty four percent of the vote now in the European Parliament's. Let's listen to what he has to say. Not only the league. This is the first in Italy. Marie lapenne has the first party in France. Nigel Farraj is the first party in Britain, so Italy, France, Great Britain. It's just the sign of a Europe, that is changing of a Europe, tired of the powers of the elites finance multinationals and from tomorrow, we all have to redouble efforts. Most. Our work doubles Francesco. Do you think this is really a significant change? Hi everyone. Good morning, everyone. So, yeah, that's a big change for sure. This results from the league wasn't really expected, so high so high. Twenty four wasn't expected by any of the polls, and, and mostly the most impressive result is dead of the five time movement with seeing the last section. So still be checked, but its sixteen point five percent, so they're in third place. We have the Democrats in twenty plus there, probably about a second party. So I suppose that's an upset, and we wonder then will the government continue at the moment. It's a coalition between the five star that Christel with the league the league. Said no. But some people are wondering, what should we take a look at the papers together? Let's begin with this is one of the oldest papers rice belt on leg. Criollo Fitch Enquist, there, you will translate so rebel. Tony means huge Electra game for the league. It's a boom and a major defeat from the Feist of movement. So let's plays the biggest newspapers from the north. And now I guess they expected up to league will be pressing. Would they all is on the northern issues? So it'll cut you down over. They'll just so he's called the captain rice, the captain. That's how he he likes to be called. That means that now he will have to deal with this huge results. And that's not an easy task. No, it's not particularly when you look at the unemployment figures that are here up to thirty percent for young people. I should say Francesco is a student at the university here. Also writer for four Miki. We zien. As a child you all work. Very, very hard lessons, continue, it'll Messagero. Okay. Legos. Fonda PD process chink. Yeah. So here's the, the major news is that the Democrats have overcome the movement. That is a major psychological movement, because they, they weren't expected to be overcome and this means that you need the left as a raisin. And of course, they've come back into the second party. Let's turn to a paper that is more left-leaning, that is lower puplic years. Tell our listeners. Big font on brain Nehring. And so they're trying to make a point there, which would translate as a dark shadow black shadows dark shuttles coming back onto country. This this why because that's because they've lifting the league is an extreme right far right party. It might be true to some extent. And that's why they defected string Bright's as raisin in the country. Right. Sara, perhaps the most well known internationally after the Italian papers at the leg of all superior in 'em. Ching Quistelle is, so the league flies and the Democrats, they take over from five star. Do you think that Matteo Salvini will in fact, try and go to load himself off the five star movement? No, I think it will it will stay as long as you can. Because there's no real alternative to this government right now at any wouldn't wouldn't be wise for him. And just before I let you go, French. I was in a restaurant last night when the exit polls were coming in looking at the televisions. But really, what most people were looking at the television was somebody else. It was Durell see who's also on the frontier, he played his last match in the Roma jersey were there, and I cried so much. I was at a stain you. Yeah, that's the flag of our such just to let you know, it's also picture. That's on these papers as well as Matteo Salvini and continue bringing more coverage from Rome throughout the day. Yeah. So the European parliament election, not necessarily the most important thing for people, and you think actually here in front. So Rian this, this morning is the dominant topic of conversation among some of the people that we can see going to work, maybe who are going to be sitting in the cafes at the frontier, I think there will be some conversations about the European election. Yes, perhaps more than people expect because McCall made it such a big issue of his presidency. So I do expect them also. I saw an interesting poll overnight here that said that, you know, unlike previous European elections. The majority of the French voted based on European political issues. It wasn't for them about national issues. And

"Fizi radio drafts. Mike, Florio, more pro football talk. The big. In the two thousand nineteen built the Oakland Raiders Cleveland. Durell? How much of a surprise that pick was didn't get his name. Right. It's Cleveland Ferrell. Defensive end Clemson. And it was a shock. It was a stunner. Because you know, the board was unfolding the way that everyone thought column Mary first overall to rezone Nick boasts second overall to the forty Niners. Although there was a thought yesterday that with the forty Niners shopping Solomon Thomas who was the third overall pick two years ago. We've been foster the thirty first pick two years ago washing out that maybe just maybe the forty Niners would go safe and the safer pick would have been Quinton Williams because there's just enough red flag ary around Nick boasts that get you to Satan. You never know. He may hold out. He may not show up for offseason workouts. We got this social media stuff. We got the injury issue. Maybe Quinton Williams as the safer pick. So then when Williams was on the board, boom. The jets pound Stephen though, at all over was the guy that someone had leaked they were coveting. See that's prime example of the pre draft S. It was a given in many circles that was going to be the pick even though Quentin Williams was the better player. Williams ends up being the pick. And I was told last Friday to watch four guys at pick for Quentin Williams, Nick Bosa at all of her Cleveland Ferrell. And I'd forgotten that I was so surprised they went feral when Oliver was on the board. I forgot that until this morning. We interviewed him last week. I love the guy he's gonna wear number ninety nine in Oakland. He does it because of all Smith. He's learned from the mistakes that were made by Alden Smith Smith once played for the raiders and wore number ninety nine. But for the first draft of Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden together and just two years ago. One was on ESPN at the big table during the draft. The other was on NFL network at the big table during the draft. Now, they're working together. And I can only assume that if Mayock was working for NFL network this year, he would have been raving about Cleveland feral, and it wouldn't have been a surprise in that funny. How that happens you take away one of the top draft analysts. You don't have the benefit of his insight, and if Mayock had been saying how great Cleveland feral is. We wouldn't have been surprised by someone taking Cleveland Farrell in the top five. But we're surprised because the industry of draft analysts. They missed the. They missed the boat. Mike Mayock also had. Let let me let me defer that for a second. I also want to point out that the raiders used their other picks in the spot. They were in they had acquired them via trade. They earn number four. Congratulations. They acquired number twenty four anymore. Cooper trade number twenty seven in the Khalil Mack trade with pick number twenty four. They took Josh Jacobs. The Alabama running back, which confirms no more marshawn Lynch pick number twenty seven Jonathan Abram safety from Mississippi State, look if you're going to try to slow down the chiefs, you got to beef up your defense, and I think that you know, if this and again, if Mayock had been working for NFL network, we'd heard a hell of a lot more about Jonathan Abram than we had. All right after the draft was over last night may octa press conference, and he was asked about the unconventional decision that was made last week by the raiders to send home their scouts their areas. Scouts because they were concerned that the area scouts this week wouldn't be able to keep their mouths shut about any secrets that they would have had access to even though the area's scouts in normally functioning organizations that have no access to any secretive. What may to say, I'm kind of blown away by the whole story to be honest with you. But I made the decision three weeks ago to do it guy. I didn't tell anybody. I it was my decision. And when the job got done, the work was over I inherited a group of a group of scouts. And some of them may be with us some of the may not be with us by their own choice or not. So at the end of the day when the job was over. I brought them together as a group and respectfully and professionally told them. That the job was done. Thank you very much. We'll be talking and forty minutes later, we'd a leak so that just kind of reinforced the decision, look, that's convenient. That's convenient. But what did they expect at that point? Did he expect all of those guys to keep their mouths shut? When they get sent home a highly unusual move, your told get the hell out of here. We don't need you in draft. Weaker a scout for crying out loud. I don't look. I don't understand why they didn't believe they could keep these guys around and keep them out of the room with the draft board and keep them away from the secrets my theory was and Chris Simms said he. Thinks I'm right. The more. He thinks about it that they were protecting Jon Gruden from Jon Gruden because he inevitably would have said something to someone this week. About what the raiders were planning to do. But there's a way to manage these folks. And I don't think you hold it against them that one of them said, can you believe it, we got sent home? That's not a leak once you're sent home. And there's a pretty good understanding you ain't coming back. That's not the kind of leak that they were trying to protect against. And there's a certain irony and all this, and I like, Mike Mayock, I think he's great. It was good. I just I just praised him that if he was with NFL network. We wouldn't have been surprised by Cleland Farrell. We wouldn't have been surprised by Jonathan Abram. But when he was working at NFL network. He was relying upon team employee's talking to him off the record these draft experts don't make up their boards based exclusively on their analysis of film and their own scouting. They don't have the same resources that the teams do you've got thirty two teams with a full staff of scouts who are out. There gathering information about these prospects. The draft expert is essentially Cray, Merrick industries. Right. Was the knock on Kramer's industries as far as I can tell it's a man in an apartment with that may or may not contain a chicken. That's a draft analyst life, you're on your own baby. So Mike Mayock has relied for years on people breaching confidences to tell him what's really going on. So there really is an irony here that that he's got a problem with people doing the same thing, especially when the thing that got leaked isn't the same thing that you're worried about a guy leaking. Can you believe it? I got sent home is far different than, hey. Keep an eye on Cleveland fairly number three. Four. Or whatever. I hate to change gears midstream, but I don't want to spend the final segment of the hour on Tiree kill. I do have to mention this though, there's an item on TMZ. The police were called Atari kills home last night. After the audio was made public. Two units were set at about eight thirty pm local time the audio tapes being released. I don't know that you know, this. There's some key. Obviously, there may have been some sort of. Reaction by Tari, kill all. We know is that that police were set at eight thirty pm local time last night. No further details, but it's worth mentioning because this story is going to continue to develop it unfold. And as far as as we know there's going to be more developed by the time the show's over. It could be Tari kills cut by the chiefs by the time. The show's over it could be that the league finally breaks its silence on Tiree kill. I I'd ask the league after the events on Wednesday for a comment about tyreek hill, they ignored me. That's the first line of defense. And it's kind of smart, I guess, I would do the same thing. Just don't respond, and maybe the guys too busy. Oh, forget to get back after all it's one guy working in an apartment that may. Or may not contain a chicken. He may not be able to you know, remember that he needs this information. So when I asked them again, they said, no comment. So I asked him again this morning in the aftermath of what happened last night. So maybe the legal say something over the next couple of hours. But that's where that stands. Let's take a break. We're we're turn play vote things happen last night. Some of the highlights some of the things that stood out for me. And the fact that there are only three quarterbacks taken I think was one of the big surprises for me. And there's still a couple of capable quarterback still floating around out there, and those are going to be names that we're thinking about and talking about. About as day two approaches..

"It called have yourself a movie little Christmas. Please welcome to the show Alonzo Durell day. Thanks for having me. I was as stunned that you would not gotten to this episode yet. It's shopping and be gobsmack that you would waste it on me. Christmas experts. I'll take it. If you want to be an expert in something find a feel that nobody else wants to be the expert in yours. Great advice. Yes. How do you become a Christmas expert if there's a long answer, you don't have to go into, you know, look, I'm just always been a Christmas nerd and always loved movies? And suddenly I decided one year I was gonna put my chocolate in my peanut butter. And so I wrote this book have yourself movie Christmas, and it, you know, I try to cast a wide net on on what we think of as a Christmas movie. So if you want to read about, you know, elfin it's wonderful life that's in there. But if you want to read about eyes wide shut and less than zero and metropolitan they're in there too. Is Brazil in there. Yeah. I made a list a couple years ago of just like my favorite non traditional Christmas movies that aren't as played out as diehard yet. And yeah, that was on the Brazil was on there. Obviously. I think it was like rocky who's in their rocky four and then Princess bride, I say Christmas movie because when the when Grandpa's reading to the kept gnarled, but what he's reading in the background. Yeah. There's a little Santa cut out because clearly the holidays he's he's sick during the holidays of would you say that qualifies. Or what does it take to be because, you know, people bring that up that I'm of like if you think it's a Christmas movie, then go for it. You can also heard people cannot that does have some you know, I throw in female trouble one Christmas scene. But it's a it's an iconic one divine throws that Christmas tree dander parents for not getting cha-cha heels. You know, so I can't it. Yeah. I mean, I it's weird. How this stuff sort of evolves in the culture because I remember when I was writing the book people felt like they were sort of secretly weirdly doing this. You know, I think a die hard Christmas. And now, thanks to the internet. That's been ruined forever. So, but you know, so yeah, I think it is this kind of thing of a lot of people think of the sound of music is a Christmas movie. Not because there's. Of course, Kojo, no. Critising in. But it's just like it's a movie would always air on TV at Christmas time or would watch. So there's just an associate of connections. Like, I, you know, I'm I'm very loose on the rules. You know, if you think it's a Christmas movie. Sure, why not I have a friend. I wanna chat up, my friend Evanston. Claire really quick? He's very talented writer in comedy person. And what he's currently doing his a newborn with wife. And so, you know, they're at home. Dealing with that right now. And they or he made a pledge to watch a new Christmas movie every single night that vailable on streaming. And so, of course, with Netflix just raising the bar the content original Christmas movies like the Princess switch,.

"Was and basically got Durell reverse paid numerous different times. So you have to remember where the loyalty lies there. And I think that Durrell probably feels beholden to a Rex Ryan for all the great things. He said about him because he was comparing Rex Ryan to Todd Bowles happened in that game that they lost that he was speaking of the game at buffalo in two thousand fifteen Rex Ryan was the head coach of the bills. So that that's the comparison there. I think that Durell Rivas was making and why it was just so fueled with fire. I guess is the word you would use. So I'm not I'm not surprised that by any of that. And of course, you know, a couple of weeks ago you had Rex Ryan talking about how the jets are going to blow the whole thing up. That's right. And that they should get rid of Mike maccagnan as well as the coach. All this other stuff. So you have all these outside. Now, people discussing the fate of Todd Bowles. I mean, I I don't like mom always got uncomfortable talking about it. But we sat here for two weeks discussing how it was going to be important for them to beat the bills in the dolphins of bills on on back to back weekends and for them to come out. And laid the egg the way that they did against the bills and Matt Barkley and everything else fueled even more of the fire of firing Todd Bowles. And I think that's where this team finds itself right now. And it's unfortunate that everybody's taking shots from the outside. And in some ways it's somewhat unfair because you know. Right now. Todd Bowles got probably half of a roster half of roster. And it's being led by a rookie quarterback. Who's twenty one years old? And I don't even know if he's gonna play over the next couple of weeks. I know he's out of the boot. And he's supposedly says he feels good. I don't know if they'll climbing as the patriots or not I would throw them out there if he's healthy if he's one hundred percent helping me can take care of himself. I put them right back on the field and say, let's go. Yeah. G two week break edge mental time off now let's get back under center, and let's play these last six games, and let's play them as if this is a small sample size of the season. And least let's try to have a winning record during this period. Yeah. A couple of things one I'm not disputing that. The jets roster is decimated. Of course. But they got blown out at home by a team that probably had bigger roster problems in the Buffalo Bills with guys that were only there for twelve days starting at quarterback guys. They're pulling off the practice squad I- Terrell Pryor was their number two wide receiver in that game. And they only signed. A couple of days or weeks prior to that. And then they just caught him. So I mean that that's where the jets have their problems. And we know that and we were giving them a pass and the benefit of the doubt for a long time. When the bills did what they did to him. That's why change things, and I agree that I'm not surprised at Durrell Rivas Zoe's going to paint Rex Ryan in a positive light. And maybe Todd Bowles not in a positive light. What surprised me about it, though, was the fact that Durrell rebus now comes on pumping. A it's an Australian based digital sports book called points bet right now, we do that here. We're radio station. Sports fans. I am an endorser of these things. I'm not Durell rebus. I'm not a guy who made tens of hundreds of millions of dollars. What are you making one hundred million dollars is the second? So this is a guy who made all that money is career. He's two years removed from it. And he's a hall of Famer. And now here he is pope in this. On radio shows everywhere including Joe and Evan slamming his former teammates slamming, his former coach say it all these things just that's an odd fit for me. It just it really is an odd fit for eleven seasons. He made about one hundred and twenty five million dollars hundred twenty five million dollars. Thanks in large part to not only himself believing himself the way that he ended up getting paid. But also to Rex Ryan for doing what he did when he was talking about Terrell Rivas being the best quarterback in football. Yeah. There's now just inflated his price and made it very difficult for the jets asylum. Now, we talk about stuff like this a lot like I'm never going to begrudge anybody. If they want to go out and make some cash, that's fine. This just seemed like an odd thing to me though, within and this particular platform, and then the way he went about these interviews, and and I guess I'll give him credit for being honest. But if you wanna talk about something in the past for two guys who were not jet uniforms anymore. Like, he did with this fight with Marshall and Richardson. Okay. You wanna tell me that? Something. But the problem is Todd Bowles was still the head coach then yes. And he basically said that that fight in week two or three they were never able to recover. So that's an indictment on Ogden diving on head coach, then he goes out and flat out says that they weren't ready to play week seventeen against the bills a year before then again, it goes back to me it goes back to then who is selecting the players who's putting the players in that locker room. I mean, it's one thing for coach Bela check has all the credibility and everything we always seem to go back to him because that's the standard that by. It's all set by and he can is able to control his players from absolutely snapping or going on some sort of social media rant or getting after each other and locked in the locker room and letting it get out of the locker room, you know, what I mean. Right. But you when you have material personalities, and you are putting them into a locker room and its power keg. Whether it's Brandon marshal or Sheldon Richardson or Muhammad Wilkerson or or and then you allow these players Gino Smith the late to meetings. And not do anything about it or not make an example of those players and things start bubbling out of control. And I think that's probably a little bit of what's real reebus talk about about how that locker room wasn't under control. Right. Well that fight. He mentioned he didn't even bring up the the broken jaw thing. Right. If he'd that. Yeah. That also happened while Todd Bowles was the head coach. So it really does paint a picture that. Yeah. Wins and losses is a big problem. But look at all this other stuff that's going on that. There was no fire's being able to put out when the head coach probably needed to put out some fires. And then you have Durell Rivas basically saying that his team wasn't ready to play him in particular got roasted by Sammy Watkins that. Yeah. I know. So you've got to be careful about what you're saying. Because you know, when you start pointing the finger at somewhere else, you know, there's those three of the fingers that are pointing back to you. I would always just be careful about the way. The he said things and the way that they are being portrayed given the environment around Todd Bowles right now is not a good look for the jets. It's just not it's interest actually is more piling on. Well, this is the thing that you were talking about. Now, you pointed to a lot of press conferences, and the stuff that Todd Bowles has to deal with he's probably gonna have to answer questions about this at some point. But this is this was your argument for saying if you are very serious about letting him go at the end of the year, then you might as well do it now because it's only gonna get worse. If you look at the schedule you look at your roster people are going to be screaming season tickets stuff. And now you get stories like this coming out. He's going to have to respond to any basically he is there to get he's now till the end of the season is really unfortunate because he's a he's a really your guy. And I know that I know that the players actually do like him and respect him and like playing for me. Even though it didn't show itself against the Buffalo Bills. But this is the stuff that is the ugly part of the business. This is where now people openly are talking about his job performance. The way that the team has responded to him or have not responded to him. You have X coaches taking shots at amino. Rex wants to be opinionated on ESPN. Am I gonna tell him not to say what he's saying? I mean, that's what he gets paid to do if he sits there and tells you everybody's Grady might as well go sit in a booth on Monday. Right. You know? So he's giving you an honest assessment from where he's coming from. But it's unfortunate that a good guy and a professional has to go through this. Because this is what's going to happen now for the next six weeks. It's going to be constant it's going to be a constant barrage. And depending on how they play on Sunday against the patriots. You know, it will either intensify or will subside a little bit depending on whether or not they can they could beat the patriots. Yeah. Well, I mean, I think that that's the chances of that are slim, and none that they beat New England. Having to what they know give much better performance than they did. I would think against buffalo. I you can't be much worse by all right? So let's say the jets play five times better than they did against bond illegal. Lose by twenty one. I got it. I understand what you're saying. But, but this is the thing that I was talking about trying to stay away from this. Yeah. Who wants to go through this? Now, again, I still think the NFL is really trying not to have coaches fired during the year. I think that they don't want that. It's not a good look for the franchises. It's it's yet more dysfunction that is that is a part of the NFL, unfortunately, and this is the ugly part of it. And you know, you got a guy he's got a family. You've got a coaching staff has got families fewer all worried about where their next job is coming from. I'm sure that they are texting with all their buddies on other staffs that are probably going to be like, oh, and they're talking about rekindling relationships somewhere else. I mean, this is this is like it's very upsetting time for the coaches and to have an ex player and a hall of fame type player come out and say what he said is truly an indictment on on Todd Bowles, which is unfortunate. Yeah. Dro- Rivas really did restart. That bowls conversation because I think most people were talking about Sam darnold and couldn't understand why you know with the bye week. He thought he was going to be one hundred percent and come out and play. I mean, there was a thought out there that Sam darnold was just giving this foot injury because they want to sit them down. And they thought that it was a bad look if they benched them. Well, I guess that's not the case because he's still not one hundred percent this point. So the all the talk was around that. And now it's back to bowls because a Durrell Rivas. So I mean, I still think that there's a chance that they make a change and all the NFL is discourages it then fire when they will not do torn season. I still think there's a chance because it can get so ugly. You know there. There comes a point where there's just no other choice and the jets with the roster that they have the schedule that they have. I mean, if they lose a couple of games in a row, forty two to six there's not you can't do anything. But Sarah, we gotta start this. Now, just something to change things around because this isn't working, and then I know you're playing the patriots. But you're still coming off a bye patriots are coming off a bye to but you're coming off a bye, if you don't get some sort of effort, and by the way, I know we've talked about how all.

This so publicly well he has been. An all pro. He's considered one of the better corners Want but guess, what they made the AFC championship game he. Plays for pretty nondescript team in kind of a small market and we've seen this before with quarterbacks where they. Feel you know what the only. Way I can draw attention to myself a lot of times by running. My mouth because if I'm. Really good the quarterbacks not gonna throw my way anyway so I'm not going to get a chance to get a lot of interceptions and make a lot of? Place, Richard Sherman talks a lot Dion. Sanders talked a lot he talked to Richard Sherman and? You know what I mean Durell Rivas Josh Norman who I think wasn't a Super Bowl awesome wa who's it's ridic- player, is like every year somebody's pronounced a great. Player at that position in two years later they're being cut in the revolving door trying to stay in Lear. Jalen Ramsey has done nothing one. Time all pro doesn't. Make you Jack He's done nothing that Dionne played two sports when he was a young guy first second year player he was playing. Professional was, he can't be mentioned in the? Same day paragraph they, set the standard that's what he's fine. But. Here's, the thing about his thing you've got to back this up Mr. Ramsey does this up you better play this, year no off year that you've got to lead that Jaguars defense. Again. Or you put yourself up some. For some real tough public scrutiny Well yeah no dumb Mike This kid sounds very afraid of going out there and. Having a backup is performance like he was doing this. In real, time during games last year he was actively chirping receivers was going up against every step of the way. I, do enjoy the resume bashing I have expected will bind Jordan. Was perfect in the? Finals what does this kid let's also remember is pretty like if I'm Jalen Ramsey I'm part of a defense that last year was the best in the NFL and this. Year, returns the entire defense essentially, I'm looking at it saying I feel pretty good about my opportunity to go in and barring injury play. At an, incredibly high level I mean there's not a spot here with the Jags think that they were one year wonder defensively on. That side of the ball so Taylor ran if it's, about having swagger and boy you'd better. Back it up this year there's no reason to think. He won't, back it up in fact you have NFL research stats that show some of our. Ramsey's. Come from on this, yeah so the NFL research Twitter account tweeted out a list Jalen Ramsey and coverage versus? The, quarterbacks, that, he. Mentioned In. The g. q. article this is their career including play. Offs and, so it had be collection of the quarterbacks he mentioned positively which include Aaron Rodgers. Derek. Carr to Shawn Watson, Matthew Stafford Philip rivers Russell Wilson Tom Brady tyrod Taylor Marcus mariota Nick foles in total They had three touchdowns against. Him one interception in an eighty seven point, two, passer, rating now for the guys Jalen Ramsey and covered against that he mentioned negatively in g q article Andrew. Lock Ben Rothlisberger Jared Goff Jimmy Garoppolo and Joe flacco one touchdown five interceptions a six sixty. Nine passer rating so you look at that and. You say like statistically he's. Not off in his description like the guys that he deems quality of. Had more luck against him then the guys that he deems trash or that suck stats, incredible brought to you by onstar advisers are ready to help. When the, unexpected happens onstar be safe out there and it is funny because that comes back to what I said earlier it's all about, the perspective of of who he seen. In how he's played against right or who is. Played against the, how they've played against, him I mean there's some, level of, the stats, bear to, what he's saying when, they've played, against the Jags defense You know it's been playing. Against them, it's these guys also in this part you're always Joseph, bigger to spend every week focusing. On the. Quarterback that. They're about. To face so he has seen these quarterbacks in ways that most. Of the rest of us have not like this, guy does have a lot of. First hand experience now it's. Colored by his own worldly confidence in himself it's colored by the personal experience that. He has you're absolutely right so obviously, you've, got, to account, for, some, of that this is gonna come down, to they're just going to be people that. Are understanding of an appreciative of a guy, who's, confident, in his abilities speak his mind and there's always gonna be that crowd of people that would rather everyone. Hand the ball direct f. ref after something good happens well and ultimately I I have to. Wonder what exactly you not you but people in. General need to see from. Jalen Ramsey before they'll accept his opinion that's one of the weird pieces. Of this and frankly if he'd come out about every single quarterback and said you know, what these guys are all great love him he's fantastic this. One's amazing, this great wouldn't want to play against that one if you've given us every cliche known to man We'd be looking at. It and say, look Jalen, Ramsey look at what he. Said positive about. Dak Prescott that means, it's going to be great it's when he starts to give negative opinion and then all of. A sudden the counterculture answer becomes what does this guy know why does he why is. He allowed to say anything and frankly we'll von is just dying. On the sword there of of not willing to take. The opinion of somebody that is an all pro. Corner I mean. An Albro Goerner yeah we're penalizing Jalen Ramsey for talking. The way all the rest of. Us do about guys like we we give these broad sweeping synopsis is of quarterbacks and other players around the, NFL but when, a dude is actually play against all these people goes and decided to share his opinion because he's inside the machine and because he's, actually writing, checks, that he's gonna have to cash like that's the, only thing we can all say this isn't it never gonna matter Jaylen gotta go. Play against these guys and he still doesn't. Care I, don't know how you can appreciate that especially for a, guy that is an all pro. Corner the. Did play. On defense. That went to the AFC championship game last year I mean I'm. Not exactly sure what people want and more importantly On defense and on a team, of guys that are all used. To this they know this is exactly who he is and they're. Fine with it yeah everybody that's a great, point everybody on that field is okay with who he. Is coming up we need a new ruling for a judge plus we've gone. Way too, far perhaps not far enough with a. Certain punctuation bar.

"Got safety, help stop fooling yourself. He's a great cornerback, but come on and then commented again, not taken from Rivas because he's a great cornerback and very talented Dion Sanders played on an island with no safety help all say, I think Randy wrong. Sorry, really? Sorry, Randy. Yeah, I knew you were going to disagree this as an island Bill Belichick didn't pay one a pay him forty million a year because he said, oh, he has safety help. I mean, that's a Ronas. That's where ego gets into some of these hall of fame Pires. So you disagree. With Randy totally. He lived on island. I watched a ton of film derive jersey Durell rebus when I was working in New England. I mean, it was obsessive. I had to make special tapes of Durrell Rivas. And this is when he wasn't on the team? No, he was in New York and I was working for the patriots and they wanted him. He was on island without a doubt. Now. No, he lives in island more than anybody. I know other than Dion Sanders and I had this conversation with my dad a few days ago because you know what my stance I think Durell rebus is the second best corner of our lifetime. To me. He had a seven year period there where I mean he had island named after and he shut down people like that and there wasn't great safety help. He's totally wrong. I don't don't agree with that at all. And Rex Rex, Ryan's defenses are not to safety defensives the most part, especially when news when the jets and that time. But the other thing I would say when I said to my dad just add some context, he goes, oh, he goes, yeah, he's pretty awesome. I know my dad said he would take Durell Darryl green and Mike Haynes from the raiders over Durell Rita. So he was number four from my dad. He's number two for me, and I know I don't have the experience against my canes or Darryl green, like my dad does, but the area I push back against my dad is men. Darryl. In my could do a whole lot more their hands and things of Durrell Rivas would have been legal. They would've said new, that's penalty. You can't do that. You can't push the guy twenty yards down the field and knock them down. That's against the rules and Durrell Rivas wasn't allowed to do some of those things. So yeah, I disagree with randomly usually don't this. Randy's the man and Morandi really pays attention, but I don't know why he said must be ego. And that one in the pass you're talking about was not in the two thousand seven season was year. He gets traded to the Minnesota Vikings and then goes somewhere else after that. Yeah, it was passed. Randy's prime was. Yeah, it was just there was no safety in the middle of the field on that play by by just to let you know it was a post down the middle and he caught in the back of the end zone. Yeah, I'm gonna say that was like two thousand nine. Wow. Yeah. All right. I knew you're gonna disagree with Randy there because I know that Rivas is your guy used to right to raise my guide to man. I like Randy. I just, you know, I just don't agree with that one..

"Radio is Terrell Rivas a I bow hall of Famer like I tried to spare you this early in the show because it was one of those where you go. What do we have to talk about today? How about Durell Rivas first, all Famer is the best cornerback of all time. I went. I don't know unless I have to go to the well with five minutes to go. So is Durell Rivas a hall of Famer? Yes. First ballot, let's debate coding to the mothership if I have to debate or you first bound whole Famer. And the answer is no. Did anybody goes Brett farve first balance hall of Famer know anybody do that with Jerry Rice and no drill Rivas. I found the whole Famer. Yeah, see a hall of Famer. Yes, I spell. Let's debate. No. If you debate you're not a first ballot hall of Famer. Yup, simple question. Here's one which defensive backs career would you want Durell. Rebus Ed Reed. Ed Reed is a close. Yeah, but I think a lot of people go read. I think most people would go withdrawal Rivas. And I go every the second Ed Reed. First ballot hall of Famer lakes debate. You couldn't hide from ad read for the game. Yeah, Ed Reed was omnipresent. He was. He played centerfield you know, rebus is just one side of the field. Yes. Mclovin every at other great safeties around him in his Rivas is like alone was on an island. Yeah, re at Reed had Paula Malo in his shot. I mean, they were. That's the only I mean, obviously everyday first bout, I don't know is he? I think he's in sixty four career interceptions seven returned for touchdowns at read. Read, but I think a lot of people could see some people consider Rivas the best cornerback of all time, like the him and Dion into. Okay, that's like bees before Rivas. They didn't really have those shutdown corners the same way. And then now everyone had advocate. Well, Dion was shut down. He was sick. He just wasn't his physical and he didn't tackle the way drill Rivas threat. If he got a hold of it interception. Oh my God, it was so exciting. Oh, but it feels like drill Rivas is known more for his ability to negotiate a contract then than to play, and he was a great player, but let's face it if Terrell Rivas was playing in a game. Chances are you wouldn't see Terrell Rivas unless they go and watch. Durell Rivas shut down Reggie Wayne and you go. Okay. Well, that's exciting. Whereas Dion got involved in more things Rivas didn't have. He didn't even have thirty interceptions in his career. I don't think. I mean, they avoided him, but how many interceptions Dion have. Because you only way you were going to get interceptions is if you went in their direction and you weren't going to drill Rivas direction. Yeah, Dion Sanders. Fifty-three career pin that amazing took nine back for touchdowns. That's amazing. Because here's a guy who was shutdown corner instill came up with all those interceptions. So when you make the argument? Well, nobody through in Rivas his direction Dion took away one half of the field. He took away your what the patriots. You know, part of the brilliance of when they had Rivas is they would double team the best receiver. And then they would say to Rivas, you've got the number two guy all by yourself. And so you're, you're shutting down the two best receivers, and you could do that because Rivas you could put him out there and he would shut somebody down. Marvin Harrison would be double team. Reggie Wayne would be single on. Rivas? Yes. Bowling Ed Reed had nine career playoff interceptions. Holy cow. New? Yes..

The greatest Cornerbacks ever we'll talk about his hall of fame credentials here in just a second and yet when, anybody brings up the name. Terrell Davis before? I, think, of Rivas island or how he played I think of. Contract negotiations is that fair well look that, was a big part of his story right now I mean every it seemed like. He he he was never happy with his contract even after he just got his most recent it was almost like you could, have one of those signs that was days that Rivas has been happy with his current deal and. You would not, get too high a. Number on that that signed before he was unhappy again so it look that's, part of it but the reason he was able to do that was. Because at his peak he was as good a cover corner as the NFL has ever seen so Yes. That is part of the story and unfortunately that part of the story. Is gonna probably be bigger for some people especially. Away his career tailed off so quickly. But know at his. Peak he was, absolutely unbelievable I put give me an idea of worry worry isn't jet says free. I have no I'm not old enough to have seen the Nemeth sore. You know the Maynard's or the Emerson boozers of that for me at his peak he was I would say, over the last thirty five. Years as good? A, jet, as you would have now his peak was not that. Long and he was not maybe as consistent, over the ten years he had with the jets as say maybe a Curtis Martin. Or certainly was not as beloved as a joke Klecko but over those thirty those past thirty five years when he was playing, at his highest level which was a significant part of his career he was as good as any. Jet that they've, had here over the. Last thirty thirty five years when the hall of fame comes up in football, I struggle with it in baseball I feel like I have a good. Idea If a guy should be in the hall of, fame, Famer not in in in basketball. Kenneth feels, like they let everybody in in football it's it's just so hard to, conceptualize stats because of eras and roles changing, Durell Rivas looks to me, like a hall of. Famer we can get into the whole first, ballot thing which, whatever he. Looks like, a, hall of Famer he gets to canton right why definitely. Think that, he does at some point I I agree with you I don't know. If he's, a first ballot, hall of Famer I don't know who's going to be in his class and the, fact that they only go with, up to seven that kinda hurts anyone's chances but I think. The reason why it's so tough especially, in a case like rita's is because there's not a stat that you can, point to even as a cornerback you can't look at interceptions because teams simply did not throw, to his side of the field because he, was there so it's very hard to look and say well this is unless you are watching the. Games and seeing how he impacted them this is, why he belongs in the hall. Of fame because a lot of times things Didn't happen to him or around him because he was so good. So it's hard to point to any single thing and say okay that's why he belongs, it can't yeah I mean I like I go. Resumes seven pro bowls four time first team all pro you know approximate value..
