CISO Accountability Problems with Brandon Dunlap

"In the past I've worked in organizations as a C.. So where you know there's a large outsourcing component to it and you know that was the predecessor signed off on it and I walk in and I've gotten multiple years left in the contract only to realize that maybe the business landscape had shifted or the relationship was sour or the contract wasn't quite what it could ever should've been and that's a that's a tricky spot to walk into right because now you've already seeded essentially a lot of control to say your outsource or you know even when you talk about technology vendors that have been you know heavily invested in May not be. Where they need to be saved for the organization you've asked to takes a long time to either adjust or unwind or modify a lot of this contracts and those relationships, and so having an understanding of what that landscape looks like. is critical and I think we also touched on some of the organizational dynamics and current events happened since we last spoke that have made. Some of my requirements. Well, so I I'm I'm always very wary about walking into a situation. I don't have which is why I tend to look for places they. I'll that the company I go to work for fairly heavily. Now usually requiring some number of months to sort of get to know them how they operate the people that work there etcetera because you don't ever want to walk into a company that sells you this rosy picture of. The amazing job you're going to have with all this great accountability, right you're going to have all this this responsibility and this accountability, and then you go. So I, chain stuff right and they're like well, and then you end up in a situation where you're being indicted. On the show as we for those of you listening you, you know we don't go into current events and we don't really I I hate talking about any specifics of a case but this case Uber and their see so sparked a lot of conversation and that's kind of where we got started. So I WANNA ask Shawn because I'm sure Sean you paid attention to this. How do you feel about what kind of Brandon started where? I just added to it like, Hey, welcome to the company you're being sued. Yeah mean you know That's pretty harsh. way to come into a company and and you make a great point. You know you're given responsibility you're given accountability you're given accountability But you have no ability to control the circumstances around you that lead to it so that that type of scenario is is definitely not. favorable. We're looking at this case and look I. Don't know anything firsthand about this case with dry Sullivan other than whatever ad in the Department of Justice's statement about it and and the allegations made there. But. You know I think it's a bigger. It's a bigger picture that we need to see here. You know going back to target Home Depot Neiman Marcus all the breaches we really. The watershed moment of data breaches back in late twenty, thirteen, early, twenty, fourteen we have been hearing this this same statement all around of somebody's gotta go to jail before things change. Yeah. People have been saying somebody's got to go to jail before things are going to change and cabinet. Well exactly because what they were talking about or your c level. Executives your your CEO. Or Board members people like that is who they keep talking about nobody was really thinking at that time about a C.. So but when you look at the individual facts of this case from what we know. I do think that there's going to be a lot of concern and fear created out of this, but I don't think at the end of the day. This is going to be the norm I think this is more of an outlier situation. Let. This also begs the question you know who actually bears responsibility right in an organization where you you have, you know your traditional Governance Model Board executive leadership, etc. You have a see. So with the title Chief Information Security Officer but they're not sitting necessarily in most cases in the C. Suite, they're not doing in many cases maybe twice a year quarterly at best board board notification some SEASO's I know actually send kind of almost a newsletter update if you will to their board, but they're not sitting at the table and the question is where does the accountability really

Do you <Speech_Male> have one more question for <Speech_Male> us? I do have <Speech_Male> one more question here. <Speech_Male> <hes> this <Speech_Male> is something <Speech_Male> that we on at the <Speech_Male> top of the show. <Speech_Male> This is from at Ernie <Speech_Male> Hickson. <Speech_Male> Are there people <Speech_Male> that genuinely <Speech_Male> like water levels <Speech_Male> which platformer <Speech_Male> level trope <Speech_Male> water ice <Speech_Male> etc trope <Speech_Male> is the best <SpeakerChange> or <Silence> worst? <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> The only <Speech_Female> one that gives me any <Speech_Male> anxiety is quick <Speech_Male> and levels <Speech_Male> Like I hate. <Speech_Male> I hate when there's a quicksand <Speech_Female> part. <Speech_Female> I don't I don't like <Speech_Female> it. I don't like feeling <Speech_Female> like I'm stuck. <Speech_Female> I don't like not <Speech_Female> being able to jump. I Hate <Speech_Female> I hate <Speech_Female> when you sink. And then you <Speech_Female> die <Silence> <Speech_Female> I also <Speech_Female> hate when you <Speech_Female> have to sink in <Speech_Female> order to access secret <Speech_Male> rooms. Fan <Speech_Male> Not <Speech_Male> <Speech_Female> Sand <Speech_Female> of sandy <Speech_Male> death. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I was <Speech_Male> going to say I kinda like <Speech_Male> desert slash <Speech_Male> sand <Speech_Male> environments <Silence> <SpeakerChange> but <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> will say <Speech_Male> that a <Speech_Male> lot of people detest <Speech_Male> water levels. I <Speech_Male> detest ice levels <Speech_Male> more because <Speech_Male> I associate that with <Speech_Male> skidding and <Speech_Male> I don't like skidding. <Speech_Male> Let's say that let's <Speech_Male> get that. Outta here <Speech_Male> L. I'm <Speech_Male> slippery. <Speech_Male> I don't I don't like <Speech_Male> that. Yeah <Speech_Male> let me keep my footing <Speech_Male> in <Speech_Male> terms of environments <Speech_Male> like I <Speech_Male> love a cave <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> love love <Speech_Male> mountainous <Speech_Male> environments <Speech_Male> And <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> also <Speech_Male> industrial <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> when you go into <Speech_Male> like a chemical <Speech_Male> plant zone <Speech_Male> or something like that. <Speech_Male> It's just just you <Speech_Male> go into something. A <Speech_Male> New Dunk City <Speech_Male> when you go into <Speech_Male> some <Speech_Male> civilization <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> in an otherwise <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> fantastical world. <Speech_Male> That can be a lot of fun. <Speech_Male> Chirac <Speech_Male> oh any any favourite <Speech_Male> level <SpeakerChange> environments. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> I was just thinking <Speech_Female> of another water <Speech_Female> environment. <SpeakerChange> Which is the one <Speech_Female> in sword and sorcery <Speech_Female> when he goes into the well <Speech_Female> enough. You <Speech_Female> did that heather <Speech_Female> but it was <SpeakerChange> very cool <Speech_Female> you kind of <Silence> have to die <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> then you come down <Speech_Female> the other way and you're on the bottom <Speech_Female> and I remember thinking that <Speech_Female> was cool because <Speech_Female> I <Speech_Female> don't like <Speech_Female> it didn't have because <Speech_Female> I had already died so it doesn't <Speech_Female> have the thing where your <Speech_Female> timer to <Speech_Female> run outta before <Speech_Female> you run on the air. <Speech_Female> Yeah <Speech_Female> I <Speech_Female> like <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> I'm just. I <Speech_Female> don't know this is not <Speech_Female> an environment but I like <Speech_Female> anything where you <SpeakerChange> can open <Speech_Female> it. Rowers <Speech_Music_Male> talk <Speech_Music_Female> <Laughter> <Speech_Music_Female> <SpeakerChange> I feel <Speech_Female> such like there's <Speech_Female> some particular <Speech_Female> game designer <Speech_Female> like Fronton <Speech_Female> game designer who had just <Speech_Female> loved me because I'm like <Laughter> the students. <Speech_Female> <Laughter> It's like <Laughter> I'll tell <Speech_Music_Female> them. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> Well they really designed <Speech_Female> like a fun fixture <Silence> like <Speech_Female> the leaves <Speech_Female> on this particular. <Speech_Music_Female> What kind of plant <Speech_Female> is that like? I <Speech_Female> really <Speech_Female> become <Speech_Female> fully <Speech_Female> immersed <Speech_Female> in the <SpeakerChange> details <Speech_Female> of room. <Speech_Female> I like actually. <Speech_Female> I just played the garden <Speech_Female> level like <SpeakerChange> plants. <Speech_Female> I think that's <Speech_Male> the only one <Speech_Male> thing. Yeah plants <Speech_Male> are plants <Speech_Female> a plant levels like <Speech_Female> orphan level. <Speech_Female> Yeah <Speech_Female> especially because. The <Speech_Female> plants always grow <Speech_Female> into some kind of monster <Speech_Female> which is always <SpeakerChange> satisfying <Speech_Male> exciting. <Speech_Male> You <Speech_Male> may be vine to swing <Speech_Male> on. Tarzan style. <Speech_Female> Used to climb <Speech_Female> scale <Speech_Female> hours. That open and <Speech_Male> treasures off <Speech_Male> ends Steph <Speech_Male> yeah that's a hoot. <Silence> Yeah <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> hit us up with your questions. <Speech_Male> I kept played. "Of the wild was a game where I really didn't want to finish the game and eventually just sort of enjoyed delay of game and you know yeah same with Shadow of the Colossus. Like I could have ridden. That horse around for forever was fun minds. Not About Games in particular just my own personal anxiety level so anytime. I like when I was doing breath of the wild. I was talking about in therapy. And how it's like this open world game and like it's all these unknowns. What's going to happen and things come out at you and try to kill you. It's very scary. And so every game I play. I like the tutorial and then as soon as things can attack me. I'm like got a brace yourselves. Which is very first off. I said Self. There's only one Off It was just very like it's it's so it's such an interesting anxiety thing because it comes up even in Luigi Mansion which is the silliest ghosts but when they come up. I'm like okay. Okay we're GONNA be okay. I haven't sue is off every time so I do find. I personally find the most soothing parts of all the games that I play being the parts where you can explore things look around. That's why I like escape games via like Luigi. 'cause you're just mostly vacuuming But I also don't like games there too boring like I like star do but it gets a little bit too boring for me like I like the wizard hunt in the minds. But even that like like. I like personally ninety percent vacuuming ten percent like excitement. I'm I my answer in terms of of liking the first part of a game or like like like having the most enjoyment there there's some some PC RPG's. I played where I've really liked the character creation and I've not loved like when it started actually liked that part that's been my favorite part of the game is just like making your character and then and then rolling all his stats and attributing all his different skills and and and abilities making their portrait or whatever then actually in the white kind of lose interest so I guess that would be my answer. I've definitely had some very unproductive stretches where I've just been like rolling entire parties and then just like not playing the game her which is a very a huge waste of time but it. Kinda Kinda like from the idea of just like oh I just got to make. It's I duNno. Characterization can be fun in and of itself. I feel the beginning sale out of the beginnings of games of the most fun part like a night in the woods. No no I haven't played that it's Kinda like a story but it was very cool. Yeah there's a sad moment in it that I'm not gonNA shine right now I think by your characterization of of it's kind of a story I feel like heather would hate this. I was like there's another one. Called like Edith. Finch these fully nude if things that are not that. I don't really like them but I think it's cool what you can do with the form right. They're not personally my taste. I want more activity but I always I was going say that animal crossing is like a perpetual character creation screen. Like yeah you just you just keep getting to tweak things. Yeah that's it that's the whole thing it's a it's a character creation simulator. Yeah I want Games. That are like entirely side quests. I think that's my dream because I'm a I'm so scared of fighting and I don't like like bloody fish..

"Sounding Techno track? I don't even know why it's techno. I guess it was just popular when the ride was built. Well you what's techno and that's the riddle of the Rhine Got It so anyway. This game's not great. But it as I've said it feels like somebody really enjoyed doing it so I'm going to give it a three point five nick so I did not like the game. I thought it was just obtuse and difficult and I and I just didn't even understand why was supposed to be doing which to me. That's one of the the the the big things in a game like. I just need to know what my objectives are and I just didn't feel like one of the point of it was discovery the point of it was still like solve this mystery and figure out what your gestures are supposed to be felt like this was just the. The design was not clear. However I do like in the menu that the The verbiage for start game is commenced operations. I've never seen that before. That delighted me. I'm going to give this a two point zero. What what do you think Rocco and it's out of five out of ten. Oh I'm sorry. I'm sorry Matt Stern and then we'll we'll go to Chirac. Oh sorry what are you what would you do? What do you think Matt? Well okay so we. We talked about this recently. My take space better than old. Yes and I have a third tier to this. That we've not discussed ocean beats everything. The ocean is so cool to me. I I love the setting I love the like. I love the ocean as a setting. I think it's very mysterious and scary and I love it so much because they're not showing you ocean that much. You're not getting a Lotta Ocean. You get a level as we talked about at the top of the show but a whole ocean you love to see it and I. I always thrilled to be presented. The ocean in any form so on that level. I love as my favorite part about this game in the ocean. The whole time relatives very bad very hard to control the fish but I I had a hard time. I had a very hard time controlling. It was that one of the more frustrating experiences I think of. My life was very upset. The whole time But I love the ocean. So I'm going to give this a four solid score lasers to how about you. Chirac. Oh dunlap. How did you find this game a positive and a score please and we set out of town right just like I did. I said five earlier but it's ten yes I was like is like I thought you loved it. I liked what did I like about this game. I liked a few things I liked that. I guess we just assume the Fisher telepathic. No one talks about it because they know how to attack. I like on the main screen that when like there's still music playing to a beat and the little prawn has his front little legs and his back legs going to different beats I like that. I liked that officials could shoot lasers and that somebody had fun making it and I would say that it was just a lot of work and not as much fun as the game but I really did like the idea. I Like I duNNo. I think somebody had fun making all the fish and the designs and like I. I really respect that and that they tried to make something fun so I would say a three three. Not Not bad zero adjusted. Make a joke. But our thoughts. Nick but you know maybe we're wrong. Maybe we're wrong. These are some reviews. We've pulled off the Internet. That might run a little contrary to To our thoughts and my first one you WANNA go first you want to. You want me to go. I I mean I could go I I've got. I've got one from kill screen. I will pardon is the did you want as well and did I. Did you go go for it but you can so we both both the same review and I texted ahead time to tell everyone. I Really WanNa read the screen review that text. Why don't you text that hours ago hours and hours and hours ago but you know what Nick? I've got a different review that I'm GonNa read because I think you're going to be able to pronounce a word in the kill skin screen review that I honestly didn't know how to Pronounce Shapiro. Dunlap on this is from wait. Always see this tech. I'm sorry it's okay. So here's the here's what happened. I when I see a bunch of text today miss and this is me not texting. Well when you see a bunch of texts I miss. I don't go back. I just look at the most recent one so I didn't realize there was. I didn't realize there was more beyond the question. You'd ask me. They did respond to. But yes you've you directly texted me four hours ago also. I'm going to read a huge chunk from the kill screen. Review for our maybe. We're wrong after you said that tax. I picked that review. So that's my fault. I will take on that one. Do you want you want to read that review? No I don't I want you to read it now. I don't have. I don't a huge chunk of it though. I just have a paragraph well. I'm sure it's going to be part of the paragraph that I let me just read from cruisers shores. I'm sorry Krizner's include all of that. That was fun I like light. That's what it's all about right folks life why we do it. Krizner's posted in January of this year. January third. Ace of Seafood is the absolute pinnacle of Humanity. Our First Upright steps the first caveman to control fire. It was all leading up to this game. The game tells a compelling story where you a small ocean creature progress from humble beginnings to dominating the ocean by gathering your crew seafood such as but not limited to sardines great white sharks vampire squid and even the Nazi battleship Bismarck. This game offers many things that cater to your taste but you can choose different fleet formations and carefully build your team. You have intense combat. You have an open world to you. Have many unlikable creatures? You have grinding. If you wish to strengthen your creatures and more go by this game it will change. Your Life. I was reading some of the steam store reviews and I started to get the sense that and I don't know if that this review that review was sincere or not but I started to get the sense that like panty party and like Garfield Cart before that like a number of our recent games. It's become something of a meme to be a few sieve in praise about this game But but I I and I don't know if that was the case with this one but the kill skin green review which you mentioned heather and and is is not like a user of you. This is like a professional critic review. And it seems sincere. Yes they didn't give it a a an amazing score. It was sixty out of one hundred but still a good still a positive score but the conclusion is just wild to me. I'll read this verbatim. Ace of seafood is not a game about what it's like to be a fish but it does in oddly literal ways imagine what it would be like for a human to be a fish albeit. Marauding CYBERNETIC ONE. But perhaps exactly the point as strange. It sounds ace of seafood. Down in its steps is really about how we see ourselves as human after all? I have a theory that these written by fish.

"Is did he shoot lasers called Echo the seafood was blood pouring out of his body. Shots permits arrivals. I I do want to touch on the kind of the Dynasty Warriors Element of this game. Which is that your the school of of subordinates. You have who are who? I never figured out exactly how to manipulate and how to order them. You have you can send them in a different formations. You can ha- I guess you can make them attack other fish or good defensive postures. I never could see a tangible difference between different choosing the different formations but then also you kind of like tactical game style. You choose your squad before you go into when your inner reef which I guess I. I guess the REF- Is each reef is a different hub. So I guess when you're within a reef before you go back into the ocean you can change your squad your school and they all have names like salmon number one sardine number three. So they're they're all does the same right. Is there any difference between individuals squad members or is every every element of the same species on the same level? Wait so no there are. There are each fish has its own stats yes okay so number two has different stats than starting number. Three I yes so salmon number one has a set of stats and an HP and range and different weapons available to him than than say salmon number two would have. I I see so if you go into details yes it will say that it says there. Max. Hp I'm seeing this now so salmon number two actually has a lower Max. Hp Than Salmon Number One in my version. And what? What does it mean when you put one of your fish in the freezer I put I betcha hit freezer and it said Sardine number four is frozen and I was like okay sure I never even saw that option. I somehow missed that entire sub of freezer. Maybe it's where they heal up or something I don't know I don't I don't know I never saw the freezer I saw like. Is that like the word that was in a little box to the right of the fish because sometimes it just said mind maybe just said Freeh said Free Zor sure but I know that the stats page. Maybe once and I really stressed me out was a user friendly game. Oh no no no the the. Ui is terrible. I I will say that I did though I did. Just see in the details. You can rename your fish and in honor of this game's biggest fan. I just renamed Sam a number one heather. Thank you there you go thank you yeah. I don't I don't quite. I don't understand what sub menus are doing. I don't understand really what the overall objective of this game camaraderie brass music concert. You're just you can't comprehend holding. "Was like well. I guess the all the in game music he in this in this game including his menu screen. It's all just so like it feels like it would be playing in the lobby of a Hyatt regency. It's just like it. Felt like the Zuma class. It really is yeah like Mary like three minutes. There's like a surge that makes you think like up time to do the step touch. Do we have a sample of that music? I loved it. I love this. This fucking crazy shitty music. It's great it truly sucks. I mean who doesn't want to be the ace of seafood when this is the title screen. This is okay. This is cooler that I feel like what was under the sea. I mean this jabs. The sounds like Cindy lauper. That's the that's the zoom by search. I mean I love this music. I loved all the music in this game a lot it because I would leave it playing a little bit while I was trying to not play the game and just keep playing and I would find my anxiety.

"Liquefied. I wanted to ask about because you we talked said Luigi Mansion and I know you are switch Gamer. Is that what you you're playing and that is like what have you played? Sense are your last appearance when we when we covered that roast game was. I playing sword and sorcery yet. I don't know I came up. No I think we see that came up on the show. Maybe did IT I. I don't remember but I remember you. You gave it to me and I really really loved that. I haven't gotten animal crossing yet because I have a friend who texted friend texted to say we can't get that game because we're not babies and it really stopped me no. I I know everybody loves it and I'm sure that I would but ever since he said there's been a quiet part of me like yeah baby. I am a baby with love it. I'm playing Luigi smidgen past but I have not gotten it yet you should. I'm shaken up by this and you should know that on the show. I am the least likely to defend animal crossing like I'll be the one who's like maybe not but you gotta get it there. You get animal crossing it's going to. It's going to change Your Life. You'll be at you. You put you in a real positive mindset. Have you played the previous entries in the series? No I've played starting valley which is a similar game. I'm told Yes. Did you like Sturdy Valley? I did but I like it better when I'm playing with my sister remotely and she does all the farming and not. Just get to fish interesting. Well I because I love star do valley and I do. I do like the fishing a lot but animal crossing it's similar. I would say animal. Crossing is maybe clearly Valley came later and has elements that are derivative of the animal crossing franchise but the new annual crossing is kind of like a star Valley Light. And it's it's just the aesthetic is just so fucking adorable cute. It's the right time for it. Just see I mean. That's what's nice about Louise's mansion. It's so simple and I can. It's like something I can focus on for long enough to forget right. Yup I have played speaking forgetting. I did play plague INC photo boy which I find like my friend in New York recommended it. She was like well. This is relevant. Okay and then I played it and it was just so i. It really helped.

Yes it was snow. It was good I was really. I feel really grateful. You said that because I was still it was just the beginning phases. Like everyone was like this is weird. What's happening is just really happy to be home. As soon as they stepped off a plane I was so relieved because there are just so many people in New York everywhere you went. We've learned a lot and yeah it's it's definitely changed. I mean you you continue eighty here that the market saturate I heard that when we had ten breweries and then twenty now we have sixty seventy depending on seventy depending on how you count so you. I think that at some point we have an economic turn down. There will be some shakeout in the industry but you know Cincinnati. He is a is a kind of you. You build it. They will come to you. Know type place you know. It doesn't matter it's a festival or worry or people like to drink beer around around here and lots of it. I'm always amazed at how you know how well you the industry does around here. It's it's a ridiculous really but at some point I think there'll be a shakeout but I would say the biggest thing like I mentioned before is maybe maybe the regionals SORTA topping out. You know the bigger ones but Take a lot of smaller. Breweries are looking more at more at a bar model than than a Murray model. It's it's a bar that happens to make their own really good beer in back and and maybe you mix that with liquor and wine as well and if he can do maybe some local local wine I an and Irina local distillery and and kind of marry those kinds of things together. You can have a nice little neighborhood bar more from a bar model than than Dan. Eight that a brewery model which is would be more distribution and canning and bottling which. You have to have skill to do.

Not that you know at least wrong. It has it's it's definite place in the city and Sam Adams on the other side. Has Its definite place in the city and it's a place like this. Has Its definite place in the stadium. It's it's really really cool to see that happen. And I I hope people kind of understand what it is and why it is and and kind of get that that idea behind these different Different types of places and how important they are to creating these different layers within a beer. Scene is the fabric of the of of the community around. You know there's an idea that people come down they know about the big but then they start walking around and find like our place their beers like brain. Great that's what we think since we're down here let's make nice about it. Let's being the most area because a lot of people don't know about us but when they're walking around here somebody up over it all track but let's go traveling dunlap and see what young so that makes it nice too. What kind of what you talking about? The future of what would off track is supposed to be kind of long term. Obviously it's never going to be wrong wrong guys. It's never going to be the next big you know. Regional powerhouse of a brewery. How where does it go? How how big do you expect that.

Someone was killing Americans in Panama and taking possession question of their property when all is said and done six Americans had been killed when the killers home was searched police found stolen checkbooks it cards jewelry purses got amunition and gold dental fillings crowns in a glass jar. William Hulbert were North Carolina native known to his victims as wild bill cortes had become well known among Boca Ex Patriots accurate American family of three read disappeared from the area bill and his wife had moved into their home and converted a boathouse into a private bar which they call the Jolly Roger Social Club the bar was decorated with the skull and crossbones flag in it was opened for partying on the weekends but disappearances piled up neighbors decided there was something something wrong. The police came in and discovered bodies buried in shallow graves but by then while bill and his wife were already on the run they fled through Costa Rica and we're finally captured on the Nicaraguan border join us at the quiet end for this stunning tale of theft murder in real estate ate fried after being extradited to Panama while bill confessed to his crimes but showed little remorse for all of the painting caused he would explain in what he did in how he did it but the question of why will forever haunt the left one of his victims so this is my first Panamanian Indian dear our first enemy case I believe absolutely so this is Bell Boa. It's brewed by service Syria Nacional in in Panama kind of the National Bureau of Panama and I'll preface by sands a pretty crappy year okay but the the good news it doesn't have much aroma or taste kind of sweet corn malt that type of stuff may do little herbal but the important thing it served cold and it's nice and Crisp and refreshing. If you've ever been the Panama it's pretty damn hot and humid down there so these these little buddy sled down pretty nicely I nine guess that's about the best I can say for it. Well thanks for the effort recalled science all right thank you. Let's open it up okay. We'll share these the quiet the head end. I hope everybody's not to spoil my some of the other good beers we've had because this isn't what you call good beer but it is sunny and warm. Maybe not as humid as Panama you're so they'll probably be enjoyed in well. It seems like if a beer is not great to get a cold enough. It can still be refreshing and be salvaged for that purpose if nothing else that's what we're looking for. What are you start our story today Dickie Okay so William Jason Hobart was an only child he grew up going going by his middle name Davidson but later in life Hugo by bill his father worked for Farm Machinery Company and he grew up in a nice two story home an highschool bill involved in sports and got very serious about football and bulked up possibly with steroids who knows he married his girlfriend in nineteen ninety eight? Her name was Ryan Dunlap his only eighteen years old they had their first child within a year and into more over the next four years so bill worked as a landscaper year round and Ryan stayed home with children. There were so young and many people were impressed by the amount of responsibility that the couple seemed of taking nine after bills parents divorced the couple move their family into the home or bill grownup taking over the home from his mother but there was talk about building a steroid abuser and again. This is a kid who booked up quite a bit in high school always playing football so that's where the rumors started and they continue and bill seemed abnormally bulky and had a temper those steroid rages we talk about the first sign that may bill wasn't quite right psychologically was when the family dog disappeared bill told Ryan that he wanted to put the dog down even even though his perfectly healthy and good with the kids he never contacted the vet and Ryan believe that shot the dog and dumped his body and this became a belief that was shared throughout the neighborhood. Another local landscaper would say that bill wanted to make a fortune but he didn't want to work for it. That's been my dream. Let's not that uncommon right you wanNA start a business. You do have to be willing to work your ass off what yeah back so inevitably bills landscaping business failed Oh he buttons Elson suits and ties after that and he said that he had political aspirations I don't know where that came from and wanted to hang out with a higher society church even considered running for mayor right but France were beginning to notice that bill was very verbally abusive to Ryan and then another dog disappeared food bill opened a pool hall and build a local TV ad for it but he was really this over the top personality which he is pretty well for whereas business but still he wasn't putting in the hard work and it failed after only a few months in two thousand three Rian Kevin Hoover met bill when he joined the Gym Jim The bodyshop fitness center in Hendersonville Billy Kevin began hanging out together lifting weights working out and bill give them the impression that he was a businessman on his way up even though his ventures were continuing to fail when Kevin Hoover his third bodyshop Jim in two thousand four he he agreed to let bill help manage it so bill could learn about how to run a business. He would even get a salary until he was ready to purchase his own franchise. So these people took command basically yes pretty good con man Dick so he could convince people of things yeah. They were thinking they were going to groom him to eventually have zone franchise. Yes they were helping him out that way twenty year old Laura Michelle Reese was working for the hoover's and she was doing cleaning and light office work at the Gyms uh-huh and Mel decided that he keeper working with him the Third Jim but then things got really weird. Marie Hoover visited the gym and saw that there was no equipment you purchased yet and bill at least an apartment near the gym rather than commute to his family home which was just about forty five minutes away not a horrible commute but then he moved in with Laura Michelle Reese into the apartment then he began sending handwritten notes to Marie telling her to be proud of her white race she threw them away but it did raise some concerns and she talked to her husband Kevin about it bill was also somewhat obsessed with the Sopranos TV show and he would tell Marie that he wanted to become someone like Tony Soprano so kind of a Mafia guy yeah. That's that's a very good aspiration to have. Don't you think so red flag huge yeah yeah so Kevin. Marie managed to explain away bills odd behavior until they were from the bank that some unusual expenses were being charged for the body shop. The bill was Managing Bill had written business checks for new TV a mattress and other not business related items in the amount spent was large. It was be tweeting twenty and twenty five thousand dollars so Kevin did confront bill about this and Bill's wife Ryan found out that bill was is living with Laura Michelle reese around the same time so the couple separated in May of two thousand four and bill. Laura moved away after he was gone. The hoovers learned that bill had not only written unauthorized checks he'd actually contacted a real estate broker about selling Jim that he'd been managing which belonged to Kevin Hoover Hoover so that's the ball there to do that where I guess but he's learning right in a bad way here yeah

Selling Alcohol at College Sporting Events Makes Sense and Cents

"So a couple more schools arm have decided that they're going to start offering alcohol sales on campus Florida state being one they're gonna make some changes now it says that they will feature five locations where fans can buy beer and wine during the games but you cannot take it back to your seat the I guess was one of the things that that they that they said that the does not include the that says they can buy beer and wine during the games will be it's considered a separate area from the stadium the Dunlap champions club his main concern a separatist in which is why alcohol sales have been allowed there before but not bill Campbell itself will have all the concessions are out there so this is you can't drink it in your seat as part of the deal so Florida state being one of the school we were not being Vanderbilt now we know the SEC lacks their rules on alcohol sales on campus from alcohol is going to be available to the general public a beginning August thirty first for the Georgia a Vanderbilt game they're gonna Vandy well George game they will they will have alcohol sales available there so this is to push the revenue generated from uncle says be used to support prevention and education programming on campus related to alcohol use so there you go SO two more schools that are are adding alcohol says look we've talked many times before this is the wave of the future this is this is where it's all going to you will not be very much longer that everybody across the country and like we said all the studies that have been done on these campuses like West Virginia for instance show that by having alcohol sales on campus during games you actually have less alcohol related incidents there are less alcohol related incidents that they have for all of this so it does make sense and I kind of understand why because you know you're not having to worry about trying to get all tanked up and everything like that and just do what you're drinking it one big fell swoop but it's it's the revenue thing that that more than anything is what the schools are looking at is how can we generate more revenue how can we do some things that will get more people to want to come to the game not just watch it on TV but how do we get more people that will come on

What Can LA Lakers Do Now with Newfound Max Cap Space?

"Now of everybody remembers the last couple of weeks rob lincoln the los angeles lakers brennan some pretty fierce criticism because they didn't realize it seems like they they didn't understand that they wouldn't have the cap space the max cap space when they executed the trade with the new orleans pelicans on july sixth it's because the way the cap the rules work well it only have about twenty three million dollars or so and cap space not the thirty two million in need to sign a max deal so what they have done is they've been frantically scrambling will ask a couple of weeks to try to find an additional trade partner to modify the straight of the new orleans pelicans and make it so that they could free up that thirty two million dollars and what they've done today was sent three players to the washington weather's washington since about one point one million dollars in cash to the new orleans pelicans and the los angeles lakers magically they have their thirty two million dollars cap space but also the los angeles lakers they have three total players on their roster lebron james anthony davidson kyle kuzma and that's it and thirty two million dollars in caps

"Text from the eight one two what's to keep the new AD from firing. Wade. We'll technically nothing, but the boosters and Boorda regions are there. And that's is what's gonna keep Scott Woodward who is reportedly going to be the next athletic director. And replace Joe Leyva that according to the advocate sources told them that Woodward will be the next athletic director at LSU. Of course, very familiar to everybody in Baton Rouge. She's currently the Texas athletic director that would JIMBO Fisher there and Woodward graduated from LSU Baton Rouge native. Makes sense. For a while. I think it's got what was thought got Woodward was eventually going to be on his way to Baton Rouge and LSU didn't take long today. Only relative few hours after the Joe Aleve news. Angels' outfielder Justin Upton to miss 8-12 weeks with toe injury

"Justin upton. Tonight in the first inning. Hurt his foot, and it will be out eight to twelve weeks. With a left turf toe. So. He got hurt Thursday in a game. And the initial expectation was the missed three weeks, but they tested him today. And. He suffered the injury running into the left the wallet angel stadium. In Sundays actually exhibition game against the dodgers. But the sprain turned into turf toe turned into three weeks turned into eight to twelve weeks. So this is what happens, and this is why I can't. I can't stomach too much of the prediction game. In baseball because the season is way too long. And too many things can happen. No one saw Oakland last year banned what they were. No one saw Tampa being what they were. No. I mean, most major thing about last year in in some ways is that the Yankees one hundred games and were not in the race from August fifth on they got swept by that. Sox? Four games fell about eight back. And never threatened to win the division and still one hundred games at the same time. Probably the only time in major league baseball history. That's happened or team won one hundred games and was not really considered in the race in the whole month of September. And yet that's the situation. They were in last year. And it doesn't bode well for baseball because there's too many bad teams too many bad teams. And when you're bad, and you think oh, we've got Houston the Yankees and the Red Sox in our league.
