Christopher Phillips: We Did More to Stop Disinformation Than Panel
"You and your friends just showed up at this conference showed a ton of guts The first question I have for you is this disinformation conference which is kind of hilarious because as you just indicated there are some of the main purveyors of disinformation were on the stage How is it that they let you ask a question They usually censor that stuff before you even get the microphone What happened You know it is pretty wild The fact that I was able to ask a question at this event the institute of politics at the University of Chicago is poised as a nonpartisan institute So they do host people from all sides of the political spectrum Of course the conservatives that they bring on are people like Jonah Goldberg who hate Donald Trump and are actually traders to the real Ideology but regardless they are supposed to honor both sides of the debate So we come in and of course I actually had a media path I write for a publication called the Chicago thinker That is the school's premier publication I came in I had a media pass with two of my colleagues to meet a Duffy and Daniel Schmidt We hear Brian stelter talking on and on about how this is the Fox News is the enemy of the people frankly that they are not they're not on our side and that they spread this information constantly as a business and then I come up and I have to say you know honestly CNN is ten times the purveyor of disinformation right And CNN actually presents themselves as objectives So what is the deal with it And frankly they gave the mic to me I was excited because I was actually going to be able to bring some truth to this conference I feel like myself and my colleagues we did more to stop this information than the rest of the people at the conference actually did

Sean Duffy Explains How the Jury Analyzed Video Evidence in Kyle Rittenhouse Trial
"Folks there's no one no one better than Sean to kind of use the prosecutor in Wisconsin As Shaun is a lawyer himself shaam as a congressman in Wisconsin nobody knows the environment Shawn my first question this was clearly correcting an injustice You are a very good lawyer The elements of the crime were never met I argued to Jenna Ellis before who agreed with me that there wasn't even reasonable suspicion of a crime here in that hierarchy of evidentiary standards Forget about probable cause or beyond the reasonable doubt This is a correcting and injustice this young man should have never been in court in the first place No he shouldn't have been charged but to be fair did he shoot and kill three individuals or shoot to kill to injure another Yes they had him on that And Colin admitted that But then he came around to the second portion which was was this self defense And this was the key of the whole trial Dan that we had so much video of what happened that you get these variant stories in a shady set of prosecutors who are pushing one narrative but the jury was able to go back to the video and say well let's look at what happened was Kyle rittenhouse and aggressor Was he was he a guy that was going through and chasing protesters with the old placards up and razzing protesters No he was there to help people And when he was confronted can I rittenhouse ran away In the video showed all that Dan And that's why I think this journey came back With the not guilty verdict and thank God for the video or I think there could have been a different result here and in justice would have
Is Biden's Vaccine Mandate Coming for Your Kids?
"I saw Dan von Gino on Fox News last night with Rachel campos Duffy. I guess she's doing the 7 o'clock slot this week. 7 o'clock eastern. 6 p.m. central. And Dan asked a pretty profound question. Are you are you angry yet? Okay, now the Biden administration is apparently going to target little mom and pop businesses with fewer than 100 employees. With a vaccine manned vaccine and testing mandate. Are you angry yet? What about the way they're coming for your kids? And that is what many people believe is the reason for the outcome of the tremendous Republican victories we saw this week. Dan asked that question last night with Rachel on Fox News. You start messing with my kids. It's game time. You understand? Yeah. You think you saw an electoral tsunami on Tuesday? There won't be a Democrat left standing in office in 2022. You start screwing around with my kids. I can take a lot Rachel. I know you've got a lot of kids yourself and you love your kids and me and you have been friends for a long time. You start tying with mama bear and papa bear. I'm telling you right now, it's game time. You eat you are not playing around. We can take a lot but don't you dare. Toy with my kids. I will make that decision for my kids when I am good and damn ready. You could throw all this other crap out the window. This isn't politics. You are messing with people's kids. That is a red line. They better not dare cross. He nails it, you know, and Dan's a fighter. He's in a battle over the vaccine mandate with his own radio company. And I admire him very much.

But my i love your show and i love that the message that martine will thank you for that in. I love bernez comment about that because you think of professional sports for sure you know they in everyday life if you walked into your office and all of a sudden your team starts blowing you mentioning swear you know swearing and all kinds of stuff and you know saying bad things about your parents and all these things. I think we would not take it very well. But you know the professional athletes. They hear it all the time every game whether it's eighty games eighty two games hundred sixty two games you know however long. It is But you know they're able to focus on their craft and and and win and be successful even when he see a team you know win or lose games championships and things like that. We often forget what. A small percentage of the population as up being able to attend or play in those professional sports on. I'll share a real quick story about the giants this was in two thousand twelve. They won the world series. They beat the detroit tigers I was a season ticket holder for the tigers for several years. I wasn't that season. But i was able to get tickets to a couple games during the world series. I was at the game when the giants won Now of course. I grew up in detroit tigers fan for a long time While i was disappointed that the tigers didn't win. I was beyond a static that i was able to see the giants win the world series. See it on the field. Watched the team celebrate. Because i knew in the history of major league baseball and then a number of years that it existed in the world series and all of that there is a finite number of people that has been able to witness a team win the world series in person. Yes i did and you know and even my brother. And i went to the game and we were both you know. We went closer to the field to get a little bit closer because most tigers fans of course laughed because they were you know disappointed that their team loss but we were able to get you know fairly close to to the field and just you know watching that event in seeing all the effort the time from spring training the long haul. The games travels all those things. Dec- champions you know that's one of those moments that i will never forget and i cherish. Because again i know that. I'm one of very select few. That actually got to see that in person and i'll never ever forget that moment. Of course i would look the tigers win it. But i was thrilled to be part of that and it just you know even thinking about it right now. I still have the visuals. And and and everything about it and really really appreciate seeing something like that and how happy they were it. I was happy it was weird. It was a surreal feeling. Like i was disappointed that my team loss but i was so happy to be able to be there and experience. That experience at house was again just thinking about getting a little some chills about it because it was a rainy crappy day in detroit too. So it's just too bad. That game wasn't in. You know oracle park or whatever they call that park now because it would have been you know a much better weather i think but again is one of those.

"But <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> how do you know can succeed <Speech_Male> unless you try it. <Speech_Male> So as a <Speech_Male> rule. I have found that <Speech_Male> television. Advertising <Speech_Male> is not worth <Speech_Male> it. Unless you <Speech_Male> have a huge <Speech_Male> bank of money <Speech_Male> because a feller out <Speech_Male> of out missouri. <Speech_Male> That i've talked to <Speech_Male> an another plaintiff's <Speech_Male> lawyer at length <Speech_Male> and he's <Speech_Male> doing very well in terms <Speech_Male> of television advertising <Speech_Male> but he explained. <Speech_Male> The process was many <Speech_Male> years <Speech_Male> of building up to that <Speech_Male> he he needed to make sure <Speech_Male> you have the resources to do <Speech_Male> that. So i'm not <Speech_Male> a big fan <Speech_Male> television advertising <Speech_Male> as an <Speech_Male> individual firm. I <Speech_Male> certainly am <Speech_Male> a big fan of <Speech_Male> the all <Speech_Male> of the things you <Speech_Male> need to do. Online the <Speech_Male> seo the <Speech_Male> paper click all of that. <Speech_Male> I think that is <Speech_Male> the as with everything else <Speech_Male> about the internet's the <Speech_Male> best way to get your message <Speech_Male> across the biggest problem <Speech_Male> i have with. It <Speech_Male> is that you <Speech_Male> know i. I know <Speech_Male> who does medical malpractice <Speech_Male> on the island and not <Speech_Male> that many and <Speech_Male> every website says <Speech_Male> they do medical malpractice. <Speech_Male> So you know. There's <Speech_Male> there's a certain lack <Speech_Male> of <Speech_Male> validity to a lot <Speech_Male> of the things you're saying <Speech_Male> and needs in. <Speech_Male> My opinion needs to <Speech_Male> be a better weeding <Speech_Male> out process for <Speech_Male> that. And i really don't know how <Speech_Male> to do that but <Speech_Male> about i think there does need <Speech_Male> to be so i think that has limitations <Speech_Male> so i think you do <Speech_Male> need to continue <Speech_Male> doing. Even <Speech_Male> though you are doing we <Speech_Male> are heavily invested <Speech_Male> in digital. I think you <Speech_Male> still need to be doing <Speech_Male> a lot of the <Speech_Male> person to person to peer <Speech_Male> to peer stuff so <Speech_Male> that those <Speech_Male> lawyers with those websites <Speech_Male> who who <Speech_Male> may have a client that steps <Speech_Male> in are still seeing <Speech_Male> you as the person. <Speech_Male> I don't think you can eliminate <Speech_Male> any <Speech_Male> one avenue. <Speech_Male> I think it's all <Speech_Male> have to do it. All if the <Speech_Male> right television program <Speech_Male> came advertising <Speech_Male> program came along. <Speech_Male> We consider it if the <Speech_Male> right radio advertised <Speech_Male> program came along. We <Speech_Male> consider it now with those <Speech_Male> things. In my opinion <Speech_Male> you run into <Speech_Male> issues regarding <Speech_Male> how you wanna <Speech_Male> be perceived <Speech_Male> by the community. <Speech_Male> Certainly the selena <Speech_Male> when barnes of <Speech_Male> the world. You cannot <Speech_Male> question the success <Speech_Male> of what they did. but i <Speech_Male> don't know how clients viewed <Speech_Male> them. I don't know if they view <Speech_Male> the mysterious players or not <Speech_Male> the but the question <Speech_Male> certainly <Speech_Male> is there <Speech_Male> as to you <Speech_Male> know when saturday night live <Speech_Male> is doing skits about <Speech_Male> you whether <Speech_Male> whether you're being taken seriously <Speech_Male> frankly if you're <Speech_Male> if you are objective <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> to generate leads. <Speech_Male> I don't think you care <Speech_Male> all that much. If <Speech_Male> saturday night live is making <Speech_Male> fun of you but if <Speech_Male> you're concerned at all <Speech_Male> about how you received in the <Speech_Male> community than than <Speech_Male> television and <Speech_Male> radio you don't <Speech_Male> get to control that perception <Speech_Male> quite as much as <Speech_Male> you can on the internet. <Speech_Male> So i do <Speech_Male> think that so <Speech_Male> much of what <Speech_Male> we're doing now and so <Speech_Male> much of the things we talked about <Speech_Male> about. The future of this <Speech_Male> business goes <Speech_Male> highlights the need for digital <Speech_Male> advertising <Speech_Male> and for really maximizing <Speech_Male> your <Speech_Male> authority <SpeakerChange> within <Speech_Male> that space. <Speech_Male> Great all <Speech_Male> right michael. I've taken <Speech_Male> up twenty minutes of your time. <Speech_Male> And i appreciate it if <Speech_Male> people think <Speech_Male> child to you and <Speech_Male> guess what is a <Speech_Male> good way to do that. <Speech_Male>

"How is she handling. Though as i son with an immune disease so as a result that we were a little more aware of in the in a two or three week span before everybody and so we were able to get the it people to work because we anticipate that coming again that two or three weeks before everybody else did. And that really wound up being instrumental. 'cause we weren't back locked the you know we were at the front of that queue so we are able to get for instance scanner into one person's home and redirect the mouth there we were able to get the checks were being remotely deposited and we were able to to work with the phone company to get a i bore in the receptionist sewn so those things you just have to think through and until you're forced to you really wouldn't think of those things and those were really the things that that beat us up and and frankly workflow not so much for the attorneys but for staff. What were they doing every day. The attorneys were doing more than they might typically do that without relying on the support staff because they were at home and they didn't have to go to court so they didn't. They didn't worry as much about their time. So we wanted to make sure that we we didn't lay anybody off or fire anybody cutting the hours so we wanted to make sure that people were working and you also had to adjust the reality that at home. You're just not going to be working that ten hours or whatever whatever you might at the office it's just not gonna be the same thing so all those things i think more than anything else now. I mean certainly. The billing is would be a huge component for you but the mundane things like you said The just the mail like who's going to get the mail right and where does it get like. We had those problems. Here there was. I had to go to the post office couple times because they would just stack up..

"Enjoyed by michael duffy all the way from new york. Let's go michael. I'm doing very well. How are you. Thanks for having me. I'm doing great. Hey let's let's hear a little bit about your your work environment. There looks like you're working from home. is that right. I've been working for home for almost a year now. going on and off. It's going surprisingly well. We were we were probably about eighty percent capable of handling remote work before the pandemic and then you know kind of pushed us that last twenty percent. So it's been working pretty well some things. Obviously you're better in person but since we don't have trials Yet in new york and almost everything depositions core conferences. everything else is being handled remotely. Everybody's able to handle their stuff online. That was a pretty fast and big change. it will industry and the courts made wasn't it. It was it. And you know the thing with plaintiff's work is so much of it is individualized right. You have your case list and you work on your cases for the most part you know as an associated or as a partner the defense firms. I think had a much bigger issue. You know they require the hourly billing and they require court conferences to to make that work in this structure they had With those core conferences gone. I think they had a much bigger transition than most plaintiffs firms. I think for us in new york. I obviously i can't speak for everybody else. But the biggest transition has a plaintiff's firm was carries what just far less interested in resolving cases. And you didn't have the hammer of a trial to force that issue so you know you had to maximize your work. The best way you could for us. That really came down to making sure that we just pushed as hard as we possibly could and made clear to them that you we may not have the hammer for trial today. We're going to be tomorrow. that's right. Yep yep well we kind of skipped over the first question because we talked about that so tell us what been about who you are about your firm what you guys do so. My name is michael. Duffy and i am the managing partner of duffy and duffy. We we have a medical malpractice nursing home abuse and personal injury plaintiff's law firm based out of long island. We practice all over new york. We this firm is a combination of two firms. Twenty years ago. I had my own law firm in my father was a partner in another firm and whatever happened with them they were going to break up and he announced that he was gonna leave new york city and come to long island and start law firm. Doing exactly what i was doing and i told him he really into that. That there's a guy named duffy doing exactly that and he said You know. Welcome to the nfl kid. This is the way. It's going to be so i did. What any irishman would do in that circumstance. I called my mother. And i asked to fix this problem for me so eventually we we wound up working it out so we were partners for twenty years. Dad passed in december of nineteen and He tried cases he was eighty three years old and he had verdict a month before he died Which was the biggest verdict in the county that year. So he. I mean he really he. He was an amazing partner in amazing man. So we of course in amazing father. Though we we built a firm we started out really with no. He had significant name recognition. And i had a little bit of a following on the island but we we undertook to try to blanket long island and really try to be Or have a significant footprint on plaintiff personal injury particularly medical malpractice and we use a lot of what.

A special meeting is coming this afternoon to be held by the State Board of Education, which is considering an emergency regulation that would require face coverings in all schools. "Well that was one of the widest ranging discussions. That we've ever had here on the podcast with a guest and i thoroughly enjoyed it. I always talk. I enjoy talking. And interacting with kevin duffy talking them interacting on twitter and over emails. We email some and he's always thoughtful always inciteful and always from a different angle and i think His passion for austrian economics creates that i think most people don't have that in their toolkit so they don't see things the same way too great but there's one thing i want you to notice about this discussion. That went all over the place. We sort of weaved back and forth between the individual companies and the industries and then into the macro ideas that influence them and then kind of back to the company's right like for example way we talked about regulation and we said that regulation favored the incumbents in a particular industry and we talked about kevin mentioned microsoft and we mentioned the tobacco companies. And exactly. how when you when you say. You're not allowed to advertise anymore. And you're going to penalize these tobacco companies it sort of cements cure leadership in the marketplace and prevents new competition from coming in and that was just one example and we kind of went all over the place but that ability that he has to and you heard him say it's a conscious thing he pays attention to the macro on purpose And but he also when he came down to you know in the beginning so we were talking about his portfolio He's very much a bottom up. Guy who thinks about the industry and the type of business is a steady eddie business. You mentioned those economically sensitive businesses sounded to me like you wanted to have a really diversified portfolio inequities Which of course you know. I like that idea. And he's aware of individual business characteristics just as much as he's aware of macro factors influencing those businesses. That's kind of rare. I think to get somebody who's really good at that. And kevin duffy is very good at it. And i'm glad we had a chance to talk with him. Again is great all right. That was wonderful. Let's take a look at the mailbag. Let's.

You know the wish come true, after which the fall Colleen wanted to do this this event, you know, still for her for her charity, which supports the Megan Duffy Hardship Fund for which come true. Yeah, the hardship fund supports. The families are struggling in that, you know, and honestly, we're paying. You know, we're helping them to pay for groceries, Electric bills, helping them just with some of the basic needs. You know, we've got into houses where there's actually no, not even beds. Uh, we've gone into places where there's no sheets on the beds. You know, so things like that that we just feel you know, it's it's That's how we changed. Honestly, we go into these houses and it's like these. You can tell these families just need so much, But the common denominator that I have seen in my entire time at a wish come true with these families are None of them want to ask for help. And so when we can go and see it, and then we offer the help and say, Hey, you know what? We can help support you through this? Yep, That's great. So her, you know, her golf tournament. Decent Work and Physical Health
"Us about decent work yes so. This article is brand new. It was published this year in twenty twenty one and the journal vocational behavior. It's called decent work and physical health. A multi wave investigation and it was written by duffy. Prieto kim rak bugden and duffy Lot of people involved really interesting study and so what it looks at is it. Looks like this idea of decent work which we've talked a little bit about that but just to kind of give a definition so the first time decent work was defined it was defined by the international labor organization. And it was the. I'll just read the quote it's Opportunities for work that is productive and delivers a fair income security in the workplace and social protection for families better prospects for personal development and social integration freedom for people to express. Their concerns organizers participate in the decisions that affect their lives and equality of opportunity and treatment for all women and men. Yeah i would probably found life. I don't necessarily like the way that ends with all women and men and maybe not. Yeah i but yeah. I very good call but other than that. I like the idea of it Obviously you know it's all about having your work meet your needs So there's a couple of different ways that they've talked about it too so just like think about it. The concept a little more They say that work. That is decent Is defined in part by whether or not your compensation is adequate To give you time for non work activities so that means you know you only have to have one job instead of six jobs. try to make it right. Yep i guess so. That's a big piece of it too. And it's all related and tied into this concept this theory that this papers based on which is called the psychology of working theory. And that's basically that theory that when people get decent work it leads to more Work related and general well-being because their basic needs are met.

What went through your head. Then look we initially when we're spending so much time with doctors and specialists in them and also in the hospital in an ambulance trips in it was all all consuming and we didn't think we'd be out of have more children but we reached a after a while to to to understand if they were living with this condition. There's nothing specifically set up in australia. It is quite rare. We now have a dozen families dealing whoever and industry. I'm sure there's more but the way now we reached out to an american sturge weber foundation. Who put in touch with them with a couple of families and we're fortunate enough to to have a family come down and and make this and that had some other kids in it's sort of an allies to to know that it is possible and we we did with tom. Who's a six in maximum. Nice to go. As abbot so protective at the big sister agnes the probably not hereditary meet. The boys don't have stood with now. it's not hereditary. Now there's no there's no signs of that in any case what would out of yet across the world. Yeah yeah we. We have been fortunate to to to make some families along this journey as well. that You know the that have have lived with it. Take quick good story. It's pretty unbelievable. Story women thank off now but we had a long stint in in the children's hospital was about two and one not like it's It's not true. I've gone back and looked at as a mouse but staying light in the hospital ward and us looking through help camp which are not check very often and there was an email from the sturge weber foundation talking about a conference that we're going to be holding in about six months time in chicago for families living with stitch weber rid for and so that's something that would be great to attend but obviously the challenging to get there and directly above that was removed from qantas qantas celebrating the ten millionth frequent flyer membership and now giving away ten million dollar frequent flyer points so far i sit at night at a great group of might superdome Yet now from from hostile seasonal safran from working within extent of not saying at this is happening in twenty five words or less audie where we might be able to into this competition side. We've got an opportunity to take ourselves and other families in australia. Outward ritual is a former divorce attorney and as a former divorce attorney. She started seeing patterns within her practice and she started having this feeling that she could make a bigger impact at a different stage of the process. That you could actually take what she saw at the end and tried to enter into before he got to the point of needing divorced and tried to effect real change the lives of parents and so much of the problems we see in society. I mean every week there seems to be some new thing within society that needs to be worked out at the core of all of that is family. The family structure has been under complete siege for the last fifty years. And is it continues to fall apart. It's going to take people like myself. And rachel and every other mom and dad out there trying to build a better family and provide better values and blueprints to their kids of what is really possible with life as always if you want to hear what my biggest takeaway is the podcast for this episode. Hang on the very back end. Because i'll be back in the microphone to tell you and so without further ado. Let's get right into it with rachel duffy from the podcast rachel so happy to be here. Ben thank you. i'm excited. Because if based on the conversation we had before we hit record. This episode is going to dive into areas. We dive into lots of times in the podcast. But they're going to hit very close to home. Because rachel helps parents come back home to their families very much like i do on this podcast and she helps it with from the business mindset as well so rachel welcome. "On one with Meghan Duffy she's the head coach of women's basketball Marquette she just got named big east women's basketball coach of the year coaching comes with sacrifices it's a wake up to go to bed type of work life the talks about the sacrifices that you have to put in choose a life of sacrifice probably so many different sacrifices you have to make it a regular basis for example even just sacrificing the basics like how many hours do you sleep at night that is the way that loves to sleep in and I think I need sleep but it is amazing what you called the grind and I know people say man you're just so busy but everybody's busy right but I just think when you want to be great when your perfectionist you know whether it's coach coach wojo or myself like we're just pounded it that pavement can I get more Rick one more recruiting Colin can I wanna watch one more film to date to help get advantage it's a lifestyle with with coaching and whether that's pro coaching college coaching in high school and I took a lot to the high school coaches right now and you know they're teaching all day and then they don't get home till ten or eleven at night because they're coaching their teams as well so I don't necessarily think it's the level it's how good you want to be with your teams and it is great I don't want to answer a question I think a couple nights were trying get a little bit more sleep but I think about our schedule like Friday night for example we play and we have a quick turnaround plan Sunday so I try and set a goal as I need to after the game get right back into watching our film of that game quickly get all the stuff I need to talk to our team on Saturday practice about what we need to do then you're right back in to prepare for that next gal and I tried so okay if I can get in bed by one o'clock set my alarm for anywhere between five and six the next morning to get back up and finish filming get practice ready and make sure we have our our game plan ready to go based on what our system coaches have educated me on those days are difficult and long and you're tired but it is also the greatest feeling to know you're doing this for a living and there's such a sense of responsibility so the sale sleep later on in my retirement days and but the grind Israel you'll another example I think people know this probably recruiting here you go all day working you jump out of practice jump in the car you drive two or three hours to a high school game watch the high school game for an hour and thirty seven minutes and you jump back in your car and drive thru for hours and you might get a couple recruiting calls in and so that's that's the daily life and I think the big thing that most coaches so you have to have a support system what about your spouse or partner or you know just your brother somebody that can help keep you grounded and understand that you know it's work life integration versus balance because I don't think there's such a thing as balance that's on WTMJ conversations I think our generation coming up is going to be greatly appreciative of having people that look like themselves whether that's minorities whether that's you know straight we're talking gender Duffy hopes for growth for women as leaders in the sport for this is Dave's final semantics wealth management it's time to put an investment and retirement plan in place.

"Hi this is todd and this this is a part one of a two part interview we did with Dr John Duffy he just wrote a book called parenting the new teen in the age of anxiety a complete guide to your child's stressed depressed expanded amazing adolescence in part one of this too far took too far interview to that point no keep it in emotional bank account snapchat. These are some things we talked to Duffy about what to do when you're beat down booze family secrets booze king drinking alcohol alcohol stuff like that James Charles. Do we talk about. We'd no that's part two okay. No we'll call it weed. I know I know we talked about that and before we jump into the interview Kathy announcement to me so everybody we are Conference Son Parenting Radio Conference Twenty Twenty it is February twenty eighth and twenty ninth and our theme this year is there's more to the story parenting gender leadership. We all follow the script we have been given the story we've been told the we tell ourselves we carry these perception with us into our partnerships into our parenting and our places of work but there's so much more to life than that so this conference is about empowering hiring women exploring healthy masculinity and embracing our own authenticity because the story is ours too right so this year we have Rachel Simmons ends who is who has written so many books that I love especially curse of the good girl. Do you remember how much I talked about that book and her new book is called enough as she is how to help girls move beyond impossible standards of success of success to live healthy happy and fulfilling lives. She is going to be one of our keynote speakers we we also have Tony Porter who todd I absolutely adore. He is a healthy masculinity expert. He's CO founder of a call to men which is an organization that model my tribe men's group after sometimes he is an author educator activist working to advance social justice issues and healthy Lee Masculinity and so he is going to be talking to men teenage boys. I mean obviously women who are going to be there too but you guys this. The conference is for the whole family now. When I say the whole family I don't mean young kids but I mean like for mom and dad we are trying trying to have a more comprehensive lineup so we make sure we are hearing about women's leadership and about men's leadership and coming together now one of the most important parts of that day is midday? We are going to have a panel focusing on transgender and non binary because we're talking about gender but it doesn't always fall along those lines of you know specifically male and female so midday we're going and a have a a panel and we'll have this discussion with people who are experts either either personally because they have transitioned transitioned or they're going through that process or they are a parent of somebody who is transitioning or who identifies as non binary so that's going to be one one of the best parts I think of the weekend to expand our awareness and we're also having a breakout session in the middle of the day where Tony's going to be with a group of US whoever ever wants to go with Tony and who wants to go with Rachel so we're GonNa have not not only are they gonNA keynotes one in the morning one at the end of the day we are going to have some smaller smaller group sessions which with each of these two keynotes so why that's important is because the feedback we've gotten over the last three or four years. How many years have we done this? is that that people want more time with these speakers they want to be able to ask questions they want more you know QNA and so we are having both of these speakers obviously do their keynotes he notes. You're not gonNA miss either of them but then during the day you get to decide who you want to spend more time with and talk to so that is Saturday now Friday night todd todd night or going to be giving a talk about sex and what did we ended up calling it. we used to call it sexuality for the the twenty first century. We're calling it sex education for GROWNUPS and teens why knowledge is power so we're going to talk about why we need to talk about sex and how we can can start that conversation and some of the things that a lot of parents don't even understand today about how our children are learning about sexuality and their experiences with it so if you haven't had a sex Ed talk with your kids yet please come to this and then after us Dr Duffy our buddy who is going to be you know it's going to be on the show right here. he is going to be talking about parenting the new teen in the age of anxiety so you gotta get there. You got this is this is a really deep dive in conference. I'm more excited about this one. I have any of the others and I know it sounds like that's what I should say because it's the one that's upcoming but I truly am I think people are going to leave feeling more inspired with more tools in their toolbox more expanded more expanded and then we do the pre conference workshop as well and this year you can't the always does it and she sells out but I'm doing it with my co-founder tribe men's crew Freak Nago and were going to hopefully get some dads and maybe teenage teenage boys and we're going to talk about healthy masculinity so the pre conference workshops are on Friday February twenty eighth from three to five minus called rewrite the story on learning what hurts it's and living your desires. It's basically about reclaiming your self worth and kind of unwinding that onion and finding ways to connect and speak your truth and pursue to pursue a life of meaning unwind the onion on peel better language. You'll back the NEIL BACK AT E. Don't we unwind onions I don't I don't think I unwind any onions. I think you're right. and then todd's is called building connections and redefining masculinity. It's their focus is on becoming the best version of yourself very simple so before we press record or press play on Duffy interview we have pop culturing so make sure you subscribe to that. We have teams Zan so make sure.

You leave your drink. Like like, you said you up I mean temple. All right short. We'll be just turned the page here on a new year. What kind of goals? Do you have set for yourself? What can we expect to see from Sean Duffy twenty nineteen? Well, I I'm I'm working in congress and the minority. I I'm not sure how that's going to play out. But I'm I'm a guy who has to look across the aisle and get things done with emigrant's there on the home front eight kids. I I'm gonna tell you hit more games, you know, and I'm gonna do better job on my schedule. And you know, makes for I'm doing the right part of carbon out not just boxer time. But consistent time if we there's a lot. But making sure we have consistent time consistency in the schedule as opposed to blocks on and blocks using happens of miscanthus. So I'm gonna improve that. And again, I think it'll make me better bother and hopefully I'll really big congressman working with my my my Democrats leadership across the aisle. Very cool. All right last question. I'm gonna hit you with Sean. I love to ask all the dads. I get on the podcast, what type of advice, could you? Give today. That new dad or to that about to be father who's out there listening.
