"Car. Anyone with more information on the incident is being asked to contact the Fairfield police. Just add on case CBS. I'm Jennifer Hodges in downtown San Jose, where more than a thousand people have turned out for free dental care. We've been playing this for nearly two years now. It's in a way that KCB has first four traffic back to Hercules now with johannson. This is on west 80 just before willow avenue we have a car that does stall down the driver describing it as a hearing something loud underneath the vehicle and now that car is leaking gas, fire department crews are on the scene. They have the right lane block in our information has the left lane blocked with that stalled car. So we could have the left and the right lane block here. We do still see delays on westbound 80 just starting just before this problem near willow avenue. Beyond that though, you're looking at a pretty clear ride on the E shore freeway hitting an emeryville towards the bay bridge, a 24 is clear through Wally creek heading into orinda, no problems on 5 80 through the Dublin interchange. And earlier accident in San Jose, also in the clearing stages southbound 6 80 before berryessa a car that went off the roadway all the activity here is off to the right shoulder. That's right, southbound 6 80, give you a little bit of trouble from that Dublin interchange through Sano boulevard thanks to an earlier accident. Definitely in the clearing stages, but a lot of people slowing down to take a Gander closer to the bay Fremont south balancing 80 at mission boulevard south. We have a two vehicle accident on the shoulder. That's like housing much of a slowdown, but again, being able to look out for some rubber neck ears, rubber neckers, cruising by the scene, 8 80, still looking good for the most part north of southbound between Fremont and Oakland, little bit of slow down to report as you cruise through Hayward. By the time you clear the 92 interchange, you get the San Mateo bridge in your rearview mirror, you are home free. "Way out. Why go hunting if you don't have to. Exactly. You know how good things are for the Giants. We could talk about the Giants. Talk about Anthony DeSclafani, and then that he had last night, and he attribute part of partly to bird poop. Then we get into a discussion. About birds and animals because I'm talking about a good baseball team. Last year or normally we're talking about man. These guys air for a boy. I don't know what's gonna firm capital for Hunt. Now everything is great. The point. We're attributing success. Two birds poop in its right on starting pitcher. That's right, Damn it. It's a great time to be alive. Wonderful, positive, man. How about positive and the pitching's been phenomenal and it deserves all the praise is getting because it's been away above and way beyond. Let's spend a little time. Talking about Buster Posey, and it's five home runs and swinging the bat the way he's swinging. The bat the past few years. It's been, You know, I know Buster doesn't really hit, but he still brings value because of what he does behind the plate and alley handles a staff and all that all true. But he was a guy that you know, started the season batting seventh, and you thought that's probably about right for him. I mean seventies, not a middle of the order guy. Anymore. Now you're watching him Swing and I'm starting to think. You know, maybe there was something to that hip. Maybe wasn't you know completely You know, healthy and maybe he's a little free or at the plate now, because those Buster Posey swings looked like about five years ago. Buster Posey swings and that is a to me. That's a huge deal, man what him and Longoria are doing in this long this best Longoria's looked since he's been a giant. He actually looked halfway decent last year, though, and but is a short season, but those to the way they look at the plate. Especially buster already five home runs. I mean, the way he's going right now, 20 may may be a stretch. Maybe not means are you know 25% of the way 25% of the way there so I would have never Million years. Bet the Buster Posey would have 20 home runs this year. 15 now maybe 12 13 Max. But the way he's swinging the bat right now. Is just such a huge deal because now you always had value it that catcher position because of what he brought to you defensively and calling games. Now you have monstrous advantage of the catcher position, because not only is he do what he does behind the plate. He's doing it with the stick again. I mean, that's about proposal you're watching. Maybe not quite that guy yet when they're winning world serious and the best catcher in the game and all that you started to look, I'm started looking him now go on. Interesting. That's where that that's pretty awesome. It's a two way player. I mean, four for five with the home run three R B. I's last 90 of the big double in the in the first and then he had the two run Jack in the sixth. And he just He looks more explosive. You're right. And his body looks rejuvenated. Is it? Is it the hip? Is it overall rest? I mean, God, These guys spend so much time in the Crouch and the years start to pile up. I mean, clearly, he looks fresh. Longoria looks has looked like the Giants best hitter since they showed up in the Cactus League, and he's absolutely ripping. Um and then give this team credit. I mean, The staff has gotten the approach down with the players where They wait and wait and wait. I mean, Belle gets to 32 all the time. Flora's had a you know, we'll take a huge cut. And if he gets the count in his favor, same with Dickerson. You know, Same with Crawford. You know, there's just there's just so they're hit the ball out of the ballpark. Their home run differentials very much in their favor. Um, and defensively to me. The big surprise has been how they played defensively, even to bond who had played no shortstop, and all of a sudden he's playing little shortstop with Crawford out, he looks Free and easy, natural like no way to the world Know, you know he's making all the plays. I mean, just They're encouraging to watch right now. Buster. Five home runs here in April. That's the most his head in a month and she hit six in May of 2017 Have Longoria lead the Giants were 12 R B. I s And Longoria hitting 3 16. Did anyone have Buster Posey and Steph Curry? Having very hot months of April. Raise your hand. See, not a lot of people had that. It's past the end of its normal lifetime. So it's puffed up to several times its original size that's made its surface much cooler, so it shines yellow orange. If you lined up the sun and 46 Leona's minorities at the same distance, the other star would look about 20 times brighter because it's much cooler, though a lot of its light is in the M Paret. "Know, we did a symposium. You're a couple years back in Oxford. The University of Oxford at one of the colleges and Iran was a big focus of it. And one of the report one of the papers that was delivered by one of our colleagues was about the new Silk Road that China The Silk Road into Iran. And what people West don't understand. From a military standpoint is that we've now been president was President Trump was very successful in aggregating the Middle East view on Iran, which Forced in a good way relationships with Israel because there was a common enemy. Yeah, absolutely. I mean all of the countries in the Middle East and I've lived there they see a rent as the big threat they've known for many, many years, Israel was not a threat. But now they're coming on board and acknowledging it publicly that they need Israel to stand with them and the United States against Iran, which is a threat to them, And it's unfortunate that that I think history's going to repeat itself. 30 years ago, we were where we are right now with North Korea. We tried sanctions which Rite aid? We tried negotiations 30 years later. North Korea is a nuclear armed nation. Now our only hope is to hope they don't use the weapons were slow learners J because this same thing if we're not careful is going to happen with Iran. You know the one thing I was thinking about anyone. We're talking about that in an Oxford when we did that whole program. Focusing in on Iran and Turkey and the whole bit that there is an Iran turkey connection to Oh, there is a definite Turks connection between Iran and Turkey, and then we have to understand that the Turks right now are not our friends and they've never been our friends. Really. It's certainly haven't been the friends of Christians and certainly haven't been the friends of their NATO ally, alleged ally Greece. It's a dangerous connection that we have to keep our eyes on. I hope it's something that President Biden is going to come to realize is not in the best interests of the United States to support the Turks. The Turks are dangerous people they've always been, there always will be. George. Yeah, I think that this is where his situation now It's quiet. It's a classic and Rick It's not like anybody wishes this on on America or that we have to deal with this, but it's so predictable. That within even before President elect Joe Biden is taking the oath. We see Iran take more aggressive steps against American citizens more aggressive steps militarily because they think, and they know if Joe Biden is telling the truth that they're gonna get back. We're going to get back into this deal is a country with him that the money is going to start flowing that much easier. Biden team is gonna definitely try to go back and do exactly that. But I think there's one thing that's different. This time in J was touching on it the Abraham accords. I think there's a recognition in the region that they cannot go back to the days where Iran threatens the region. The Obama years were terrible for the region. They enjoyed a very different sentiment in the region. And we're already now seemed, Oh, ha and react, talking and trying to figure out with Jerusalem what they could do about Tehran. That is a big deal, and that's gonna be a problem for the Europeans and for the vitamin E. I was just thinking about that, Rick. The fact is one of the lasting legacies of this president's going to be President. Trump is going to be those Abraham accords. Because the reality is it was a completely re complete reshaping of the Middle East to the for the betterment over the world and for the betterment of the region, but also for the betterment of the United States. I think it's it's tragic in a sense of that policy probably will not be continued, because what you had was an alliance because of a common enemy. That became strong. Let me tell you what we're doing at the A. C. L J folks, So we've got people like Rick Grenell. And West Smith and we've got others in the region way have offices in Jerusalem, The American Center for Law and Justice is fully engaged in the Middle East. Now our advocacy over the last four years was easier to be Frank. Okay. It's not gonna be easy. Now. It's gonna be going back to the U. N and starting that whole fighting when you're fighting with your own country at the United Nations, and I'm gonna follow up. We come back from the break on Rick with Rick on that because guess what, folks. We had four years of relative peace at the United Nations for the United States. We don't have to go up there every two weeks fighting policies. Like we did under the Obama administration. Remember our European Centers of pull NGO with the U. N Get ready for that? "I wanted to ask your thoughts on the impeachment proceedings of this week and whether or not It is constitutional for the Senate to try a president who has left office. Well, there's so first of all these arguments on both sides, and they're pretty ably made in the Washington Post lately in a And the article You sent me my my clue. Big, great. The great retired judge. And another by Laurence Tribe. And, uh, First I'll tell you what I think. And I'll tell you the arguments. What I think is Impeachment is a special process, especially as regards the chief executive because there's a problem to solve. In Britain that forever the sovereign was the King and the chief executive. And there wasn't really any method to remove him. They, You know, in the in Charles the first they cut off head, but they weren't really ever able to establish a British law that would let them do that. Um, And that's because Executive is in charge of prosecutions. How do you prosecute the executive? And it's sensitive because anyway, you prosecute him. Anybody who has the power to prosecute him could conceivably take over the executive. In our country. The executive is elected and that would mean toward in the well of people. So they did a brilliant thing they contrived. They contrived that the two political branches would take on a somewhat judicial function. And one would accuse him and the prosecute him and the other would try him. That would mean then that there would have to be a sort of consensus in the nation. The political forces in the nation, and it would also, however, operate under some rules of law. They would present evidence and have cross examination. So that's what they did. And that's Ah. That's where two really well Uh, the point is, What about Private citizen, which is what Donald Trump will be in a few days. And So I the reason I think a private citizen cannot be prosecuted is because if you read, you know, they're six mentions of impeachment in the Constitution and Is it to have Marin? If, after the Three M. Marin articles one and the two of them are an article to and what I'm is an Article three. So the dimensions the second one is the most interesting one. Senate shall have the sole power to try impeachments. Uh, Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than two removal from office. And the conjunction Disqualified disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor trust or profit under the United States.
