"Introductory note william drummond december thirteenth fifteen eighty five to december fourth. Sixteen forty nine called of hawthorne was a scottish poet. Drummond's most important works are the cypress grove and the poems the cypress grove exhibits great wealth of illustration and an extraordinary command of musical english. It is an essay on the folly of the fear of death. This globe of the earth says he which see meth huge to us in respect of the universe and compared with that wide pavilion of heaven is less than little of no sensible quantity and but as a point. This is one of drummond's favourite moods and he uses constantly in his poems. Such phrases as the all this great all even in such of his poems as may be called more distinctively christian. This philosophic conception is at work a noteworthy feature in drums poetry as in that of his courtier contemporaries a town lord sterling and others is that it manifests no characteristic scottish element but owes its birth and inspiration rather to the english and italian masters drummond was essentially a follower of spencer but amid all his sensuousness and even in those lines. Most conspicuously beautiful. There is a dash of melancholy thoughtfulness. A tendency deepened by the death of his. I love mary cunningham. Drummond was called. The scottish patriarch and his sonnets. Which are the expression of a genuine passion stand far above most of the contemporary patrol. Imitations a remarkable burlesque poem. Palermo medina inter vitamin m. e. tina burnham printed anonymously in sixteen eighty four has been persistently and with good reason ascribed to him. It is a makki roic tail in macaroni. Latin enriched with scottish gaelic expressions of a country feud on the fife lands of his old friends the cunningham's english composer gerald vinci's three short allergies opus number. Five nineteen six consists of musical settings for unaccompanied chorus of three of drums poems. Life a right shadow is this world. Hunting is and this life which seemed so fair..

"Especially centers. Who don't shoot? Threes are cheap. They're easy to find. So, if you'll Lakers, and if you're worried about having to pay Andre Drummond too much, you can go get a guy you're probably. And again, some of these guys might get more than the vet minimum, but you can find somebody, are they going to be good as Drummond know, but in terms of the amount of minutes that you're going to have a traditional Center out there on the floor, can they fill in and get the job done? Yeah and I would like to see drum and come back home but if push comes to shove, if it's between getting a wing and having to pay a veteran-minimum price for a center or paying a veteran-minimum price for a wing and paying drum and more money, give me the better quality Wing because I think that's what you're going to find more useful, particularly come playoff time when Anthony Davis is going to play the five quite a bit. So it's going to be interesting to see how things work between the Lakers and drummer. And I think he's a good player, but just in terms of roster construction, you might be better off going with a guy. That's more of a stop-gap there at the center position that can just fill some minutes and focus our attention elsewhere. And that's a really excellent point, because with Andre Drummond, going back, that comment where he laughed at the Veteran's minimum, that's where I think he played his legs into the wrong hand. It's not a, it's not at all, a question of his own skill and his own value at what he at what he does. And the way he does it, it's actually a question of value on what his skill sets are. Yes, he's better than most of the other centers, however, that's not what's valued in today's NBA. And that's why I think joking about the Veteran's minimum. Got us to the point where, where you're talking about this Trevor where it's saying like we can get other guys who do what you do just off..

I got the sons. No no no. I'm thinking i'm gonna give you the bucks with our with winning. But you said it's going to be a four point game win by four okay. We'll i'll give you the bucks and five and a half the book you take now. Andre drummond didn't exactly have the impact that he or lakers fans had hoped for when he joined the team mid season and now it looks like he may not be back next year after going viral from some tweets about his lack of playing. Time and retweeting skips post featuring his nickname three reptile drummond. The big man posted some photos of some new t shirts featuring a gigantic farewell. The top christopher. Start back with us. Chris break this down. What is going on here careers. Why why like i this. This isn't good on any front. As far as i'm concerned number one farewell. How can we take that but to think you're out of la okay. You're on social media saying blaming your poor playoff performance or your lack of playing time. That would seem like a shot at the lakers coach. Frank vogel we all saw how they struggle when you anthony day was on the floor together during the regular season and the postseason so it doesn't seem like a fit now. Maybe andrei sees the handwriting on the wall and is trying to get out in front of it and say look. I left because i wanted to. I wanted out. I wanted to a bigger role. And i wasn't getting enough minutes rather than the lakers. Just didn't want me back. Maybe that's what he's doing. As far as the kareem abdul drumming. This makes me think skip that. He hasn't seen you say it but somebody told him you call him kareem abdul drumming because he seems to think it was viewed as like a compliment like eight. They got their next kareem abdul-jabbar next shot and that seems to be how he's taking it and why in the world put yourself in that class. Why joe very carol your bar so just loan dry. I don't get it for your own. Good dray leave it alone. Don't sell this mertz obamacare. we'd get traded. i'm old enough to remember. His nickname was joe. Barely cares for that. I agree with you chris. I hope this was a joke. I'm not so sure kareem gonna take it. He told that name reason. There's not very many people that get an offer to choose most of us. You know birth name. My mom or dad chooses name and they've been obviously in hollywood we find out a lot of people have changed the name and not so much in hollywood. Would you get a chance. But he changed his name for reason. And i'm sure that you merchandise. But like i said i hope it's a joke you know i don't want to make too big of a deal i was killed is a joke. I want to take it up the joke. He's frustrated because he's saying he say like i believe i can do what deondraye eyton does do. Lopez does if. I just get more opportunity if i got more. Playing time could done then. I just believe that because he came in at the middle of the season. A big guy is hard. Because you depend on god getting you. The ball will the guy that could really get you the ball understand. You was hurt when you arrive shooter. That know how to potent and he played with clint cappella agree throw. He doesn't all they can't be the big guy all in the bronx. You started to feel a little bit of what germany could do. Will lebron got there. So i'm not going to be too much of a deal out of it. I like to think though if he had a training camp. They defied his role. Make it crystal clear what they expect of him. I could be good for the liquor but it doesn't seem like that's going to be a possibility. I don't think so. I think he just posted way out of la. And he is unrestricted free agent. Rick okay. Let's revisit where the nickname came from. They signed him after he was bought. Out by cleveland detroit. Cleveland cleveland roy. Okay so it gets bought out lakers. Land him in jeanie buss post side by side and pictures on the website of her welcoming. This guy andre drummond. Welcome and the next picture is her. Father welcoming kareem abdul-jabbar when they acquired him from milwaukee way back when so. I was just astounded by the comparison. That genie was making so i started calling him. Derisively kareem abdul drummond. Okay so that continued on. Then he also. He acknowledged that his nickname in cleveland slash detroit was the big penguin. We also were calling him into big paint but the point was then. He made the mistake of answering a fan on twitter saying well. If y'all coach would would play me more. I could dominate like eight. And he also threw in brooklyn brooklyn has dominated dominate like. They were dominating okay. So it's a shot at frank vogel within. He got ridiculed for about five or six straight hours on twitter on which he trended with means of andre drummond looking in the mirror and seeing kareem abdul-jabbar. That's what he sees when he looks in the mirror. Well i think he got angry. I think this was sarcastic. Post that were responding to now because he did re tweet my nickname but i think it was an angry retweet in photoshop. Pictures saying farewell with the picture of kareem on the front and it's basically saying each your heart out l. a. You could have had a kareem. But i'm now farewell out outta. He actually did have actual had had well they re cream. Yeah so like. I said i just think this is a joke. But i don't think koreans going think it's funny with a picture of him you know using his likeness. I'll say this if fairness to andre drummond. He's just in the wrong era. Yes or no. I mean he. He's a good player he puts up. You know we signed put up numbers in detroit and cleveland. But they didn't lead to wins. I'm not saying he'd been a star. Trek back in the day would have been going against much better centers but his game is fit for the nineties of the past. Yeah it just is and then back then. I think he would have been. A good player is jesse's somewhat of a liability today. Now if the lakers are someone else. I think the lakers are equipped for it. If they say we're going to be different we're gonna play. We got lebron james. We got anthony. Davis we got andre drummond wolff. Three point shooters around him. But we're going to be big. We're gonna lock you down defensively and we're gonna pound you inside and would you double and triple a. Sensei we're kicking it out to our shooters. If they did that then i think they could be affected. but everybody. And we see with milwaukee shannon you keep bringing this up. Everybody wants to play the same way. Everybody is just a mesmerized hypnotized by the analytics and feel like we gotta take a ton of threes. No matter what how big we are. We have to play this way so is just in a bad situation with the lakers but overall in today's nba to some degree. But if you think about it guys. The lakers championship playing big. They played the white house with the playoff. They played bill mcgee. Anthony davis lebron james bay. Where a big team and they would have pound people. Okay but those guys are built differently than drum is built but they also had a whole big. Dwight only got. Dwight had an off season. He had a training camp to go through this. I just believe drum wide arrived. Think about it. Lebron was hurt a was hurt so he's trying to.

"Touch him. Nobody in chris paul flops. It's an all lot flop and false. And that's called traveling. That's called clippers ball. Now gotta be the right there. Yup no contract faith. He got he got you. Sorry good talking to jumping like we didn't even right. After he swiped at the air yati so chris paul wheels and flops and falls down. And it's it's gotta be called clippers ball but it's not no oh interesting so that brings me today and jose okay. So that brings me to mark davis one of my favorite officials in fact he may be the best referee in the nba. And yet i know for a fact. That mark davis has been friendly with chris paul for many years dating back to his days in new orleans so who is the head referee for game six at staples which is obviously crucial. Because it's going to be a close game. It's mark davis the head referee did. Did chris get favorable calls in that game. We didn't need them because he just shot the clippers out of the gym but then it did make me a little suspicious. When we turned right around for game one at phoenix. Guess who the head referee was in game. One phoenix is mark davis. Right this chris play with a little more comfort. Zone with mark davis. Maybe because they're very they've known each other very well for many years. Okay so is given. I mean when you when you ref as long as somebody's guys have and chris. Paul been league fifty years. You know all these guys you know scott foster you know melloan. Yeah you know came fitzgerald. You know sean. Right you know. Courtney corporate okay you know all these guys get billed candidate Tony brother playing garber. Okay i'm just saying that. Sometimes the the sort of narrative gets planted in the psyche of referees. This is chris. Chris paul's time and driving. This is it. lets you know. In their point of view. Let's be favorable to them. Let's not stick it to them right. And i'm just going to say that that the sons are probably going to get every crucial call. The rest of the way on your free throws i agree with you there. A jump shooting team. They just don't drive the bus. They don't demand the whistle enough they don't get fouled enough because there's not enough. Contact is like in football a team that runs the ball fifty times a game so we didn't get no pass interference call that team. Will they throw it fifty times. You read it fifty times but you'll get past. It appears call when you run the football. They're throwing it. How you think you will get called one team driving ball getting into the lane and you shooting jumpers. Yeah okay. So the eight and call. I showed you at the end game two and then the tomb call off campaign near the end of game. Four and then the chris paul flop call. Those aren't free throw calls. Those are game deciding game calls that don't involve the free throw line right. So that's what you have to be careful of in this series against phoenix because the momentum is for phoenix to win it all most people have already crown them that you know. Try to put on. Ain't nobody crown being in was one game. Everybody everybody did enough to stop trying to know. I did no no. I came here even after they want and said it was one game. All they did was whole serve at home and they win the next game. All they've done is whole served whole now milwaukee. All they need to do is do the exact same thing. Was it over with the next one verse to Okay d- no but the nets had only one player against five was going to be a long hard battle to play to win those games but trish midfield plan to win the game. You told me that that that that's been kilbane. Love premise Best player planet wins ballgame. Even if it's one o five from because that's what you're asking lebron against the war you remember. That was a bad humor themed play. It was just a lot hapless. War your did you. Did you see game. Five series virtuoso. Did you see poverty in this. It was unbelievable. La-last fix the last two game seven on his court game seven if it had not gone overtime if his toe had been just a quarter begin with one of the great clutch shots you've ever seen made and it should have won the game but it just by a tenth of an inch was not a three but let let that had been lebron not new where lebron be la- gone kevin durant final. Well it's a tenth of an inch three to win a game. That was ruled a two by tenth of an inch. I don't remember what you would have done. Had that been abroad. And you just say the broad got to be smarter than you think. Jordan would not have known where he was on the floor. That's what you would have done with the utah. Each no worse lagoon. Where is he is no. but he didn't have any hill mobile. Gotta move on. We'll generate power. Lebron's teams gone. Had some new lakers would so speaking of andre drummond role. He didn't exactly have the impact. That or the lakers fans had hoped for when he joined the team season and now it looks like he may not be back next year after going viral from some tweets about his lack of playing time and re tweeting skips post featuring his nickname. Kareem abdul drummond. The big man posted some photos of some new t shirts featuring gigantic farewell across the top shannon. What's going on here clearance. Kareem abdul-jabbar use his lightness and to profit. Off of it cream chose this name. Based specific reason. It means a lot to him. I remember when The football player tried to change his name kareem abdul-jabbar and kareem took him to court and had to change the spelling because he said there would i known as that guy Maybe it's a shot at humor. I don't particularly think it's funny Like i said hopefully. He got clearance from kareem or not korean season letter. I i don't get the meaning of skill. I would like to see. Andre drummond back. But how andre drummond perceives themself. In how the lakers and other teams perceive him. I think that's vastly different. And that's that's the case. A lotta times. Kill the way we view ourselves. As as opposed to the way i- employers abuse could be flying the different. But i don't really. I don't really funny. I don't really see the meaning significance behind it. I you know you. And i was making light of situation because jeanie buss had a photo of her drumming like dr bullets. Her dad had korean by size. Posted on the lakers five comparing survival. Corinn's arrived. I think it was quite death killed but i think we got us a big made up. That was her situation doing doing that. But for me skip. I just i don't get it. I don't i don't get what's going on here. But i i'm not deducing anything from it. I'm not. I'm really not. is it. Give you pause to consider that. He may not be a laker next because he could possibly be. I'm not gonna lose any sleep. If he's not a laker. Look having back. I think with a year of training camp with everybody healthy. He understands his role knows that he's gonna play and the thing is he and his age is gonna get assurances cadillac schreuder. They gave almost starter. Does what my understanding was got him. There'll be a starter and when he should have been a reserve but that's not there. Look you gonna play. Twenty five made it somewhere between twenty and thirty minutes a night. Yeah blah blah so for me skip. It doesn't get it. Like i say i love to have him back.

"Drummond and the thing is give it that people need to understand is is harder for a big man to get integrated being traded midway through the seasonal being brought on through the season as opposed to a guy with the ball in his hand because look at it took james harden nothing to get integrated because james heart and had the ball in his hand. Now we're not you're not asking. Andre drummond is not going to be nicole. Yokich not going to be joel embiid. Now he can be close to that order bad team but on.

He's been in a lot of these playoff series. I had a restless restless night's sleep. So anthony davis was not only fantastic but super aggressive. He know us play like that. Dennis schreuder may have played his best game as a laker. Certainly as best playoff game. It's not even close okay. He was great last night. Andre drummond was super effective and lebron played well and we held on to beat phoenix in trouble in the fourth and chris. Paul wasn't around the end. NBA Playoffs: Phoenix Suns Beat Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1
"Lakers phoenix suns with an emphatic. Ninety nine hundred game one win that they control from start to finish and you know what when we talk about the lakers. We usually get a lakers perspective. Someone from l. a. No two sons one game one. Let's get someone from phoenix. The first person. I thought it was the one and only eddie johnson. How are you sir day. I mean that's not being in the playoffs the so long. I can't even remember zach and i wake up this morning and we're gonna win the series. They can't be any better than this house. The arena. You know what i watch it on. Tv to be quite honest with you. I work i work so much is like when i get an opportunity to just listen to somebody else. Do a gain the replays. And everything i just feel like you know is so much more up close and personal for me but when i heard about buddies told me said it was just unreal eighteen thousand although they listed there's about ten six but it seemed like it was eighteen thousand so it was packed. Ready and people were partying outside so fun. Time right now saying we haven't experienced this long time. So we had a kerfuffle and ejection. Chris paul hurting his shoulder and and using a jump shot form. That was clearly not his normal form will have to monitor that going forward so it was an eventful game. The sun's sort of told the world. Hey we're here drayton. i'm here. i'm the. I'm the biggest guy in the floor. Andre drummond bigger than me. But i'm gonna play like the big sky devon booker. i'm ready you're gonna have to double me straight up hard double me like luka doncic. What surprised you about game one. What was something that stood out that maybe you didn't expect surprise me about the suns team. This is a team that i've been seeing all year long. I've been trying to convince the on. Tell them they are real deal. They are team. Personify one to fifteen. Every one of those guys are prepared. Money is a great job with them. They have confidence. they did. Not surprise me.

Los Angeles Lakers Suffer Disastrous Loss to Sacramento Kings
"An unbelievably bad performance by the Lakers and a game in which the kings were missing some of their better players, including de'aaron Fox and the Lakers just kind of did what they've done. All season long and turned the ball over too much and just flat-out miss open shots. And we saw that happen time and time again. Let's get into the stands real quick before I start taking your questions and comments here. So the Kings shoot, 45% from the field, not great. But they shot 36% from 3 and ninety percent from the line. That makes a difference compared to a Lakers team who shot 51% from the field and 25% from 3 and 71% for the line. If you can't shoot, you can't win really tough to win games when you can't put the ball in the basket. Again at The Rim, okay? 51% off. You can't hit 3s in the modern NBA. You're in big big trouble in the Lakers again, 25%. That's the game. That's the game right there. If you shoot league-average, even just league-average from 3, you win this game by a margin but instead, the Lakers are missing a lot of their three-point attempts tonight. And then the turnovers 21, turnovers for the Lakers. Again, cannot do that, that's a problem. They've had most of the Season. At one point, the worst team in the NBA when it came to turnovers. Haven't checked it recently, but they are still up there. They've been really, really bad. Turning the ball over for most of the season. They did get better for a little bit there. They got a little bit better. Dead shooter was starting to rain things in a little bit it wasn't being an Optima optimistic password so much tonight that was not the case. They completely regressed in the turnover Department. It got really bad there and then the other piece to this the offensive rebounds 11:00 to 11:00. 11:00 offensive boards for the Lakers 11 offensive boards for the Kings. You can't do that. If you are having a front line that has Andre Drummond and Anthony Davis on it. Plus LeBron James, you have to absolutely dominate unquestionably down, Nate the glass,

An Undermanned Lakers Leads to a 40 Point Score For Jaylen Brown
"Well and and tonight heading in the Celtics were a six-point favorite according to oddsshark in terms of where they would come out and they and they certainly covered there. They wanted the game bike game. Eight. So if you pick the Celtics in this one that I guess you came out on top of it, but the Celtics came in as the favorite we thought the Celtics would win this game and they really came out firing. I mean the big problem was Jaylen Brown through most of the of the night. I mean we finish up with 40 points. He's the guy they turned to when when things start to get close in the fourth, he came back and scored a couple of buckets and I look at this as as two things off for one. Jaylen Brown is is just a good player. But the second thing is the Lakers just didn't have anybody to put on him. I mean the the guys you would probably turns you would include Anthony Davis LeBron James Markieff Morris all of them sidelined and then you don't even have Andre Drummond to meet him at The Rim when he's driving and he took advantage of I mean credit to Jaylen brown, but I think a lot of this game was just sick of how many guys the Lakers have out injured right now.

Drummond a Better Addition to Lakers Than Rondo to Clippers
"We'll really both teams. Latest editions have paid off saturday. Andre drummond helped lead the lakers in an upset win over the nets. Thanks to his twenty points and eleven rebounds while yesterday rajon rondo dropped five ten points in the fourth quarter. Help the clippers close out the pistons in a comeback win so shannon waiting to think long and hard about this who is the better acquisition from in oregon out here. I think both gas were what the doctor ordered I think would rondo. Does he is allow. He allows paul george and kawhi not to worry about the ball handling situation especially late in the ball game so now they can do what they really good. At that score the basketball rondo will always get them into the right set. He will always do the right thing. Andre drummond is. This is just what the doctor ordered scale because he gives them. Something that the lakers didn't have the size and strength on the block. A guy that could score down there a guy that could rebound down there and a guy that can defend down there so for me. I'm going to say audrey draw. But although i believe rondo a great acquisition andre drummond is going to be the difference between the lakers winning and losing the title. Because i believe skips if you remember last year would they could do. Is that javagal. Into why they all they own for the most time they own the rebounding advantage. I believe this is going to be another situation that they're gonna get a lot of second chance opportunities because the look the other night i think andre drummond had offense rebounds that gives you another opportunity to possibly get. Am one adult or is going to be kicked out to a wide. Open three point shooter so for me. I'm gonna take andre drummond. 'cause i love and plus he three in august this year

Yeah, I mean I I do want to say the Lakers are now four and six without LeBron and a D in this stretch. And you know what I have to imagine that when when LeBron First Choice went down and we looked through the first ten games and said let's hope they're four and six. I think we have to be at least somewhat happy with where we are. I mean obviously six losses and ten games bad. But like if you look at the context of it, I feel like you gotta be pretty happy that you're four and six through ten holer. Absolutely and that's that's a great point to run when you cuz losses can be a little bit defeat wage thing. But sometimes when you take a step back and you look at the big picture you go. Oh they're actually doing okay all things considered. I mean look at all the guys that were out tonight you look at everything they've been dealing with and they're still finding ways to track water so that certainly commendable random rants here from YouTube with a with another Super Chat. So do you think the Lakers will hold out Gasol until the playoffs and how will he fit with Treads Off the Bench? I don't think they will hold them out to the play. Yeah, that would be a long time frame just be sitting over there on the bench. But you know what Andre Drummond went out towards the end of the first half there were about three minutes left. He picked up a silly third foul language teaching on Tyler hero slapped him on the wrist on a 20-foot jumper. It was it was a dumb file using front of like a dumb hookshot, right and and then he goes out and I was wrong. Okay, it's going to be Marcus. So Al Corso from from YouTube said the Lakers were the Super Chat said Lakers have shown their chemistry is on another level versus the rest of the NBA. I don't know about that. We gotta wait and see until everybody gets back but off. But I think it is an interesting point chemistry wise. I think they were pretty good tonight and we'll see when they integrate all those pieces back in you have to get used to now playing with LeBron James again get used to playing with Anthony Davis again, that's going to be a good thing. But I do want to talk about Drummond and then let's go to schruder next so Andre Drummond, but we've only seen him up until tonight. We only see him for 14 minutes in purple and gold and he got hurt and against the Milwaukee now here he is back tonight twenty seven minutes. What good and bad. What did you like and dislike about what we saw out of Andre Drummond tonight? And and what do you think about him moving forward? Yeah, so I mean we we talked about it during the game. I texted you guys that basically if he can work on just catching the ball firmly the first time he touches it and not bottling it and get it get swiped around he's going to be incredible. Los Angeles Lakers Get Much-Needed Win In Blowout Over Sacramento Kings
"Pick up the big win over the Sacramento Kings, they went by 21, you know, what most of the time right at a championship contending team beating the Kings wouldn't be a big deal, right? We would look at this and just say well whatever they're supposed to but given the current state of the Lakers without LeBron without Anthony Davis now without even Andre Drummond sliding down in the standings. This was an important one. In fact I said going into the game. This was a must must win and my goodness. I wasn't sure which Lakers team was a good show up. I wasn't sure if the Lakers were going to approach this game as a must-win the way I thought it was and they did they came out firing. What a performance and let me say this not only did the Lakers need this game. We needed this game Lakers Nation. We needed this one. We needed a performance like this because it had been too long. There was so much negative. Any permeate permeating Lakers Nation? It had been far too long since we've seen the Lakers really play. Well, really put it all together. And of course A lot of it came down to the three-point shooting tonight. They were absolutely phenomenal behind the arc V E 1% from behind the arc 52% if we round up and 48% from the field, they shot better from behind the three-point line than they did from the field not something that happens very often. But still this is certain a time to celebrate the Lakers picking up this win. We know the schedule is going to get tough. We know there's going to be some more difficult roads ahead. But for right now for this moment, we got to take a moment just appreciate what we saw tonight because this was a fantastic performance by your Los Angeles Lakers top to bottom everybody chipped in and he loved to see that.

"Yes, absolutely. But I also liked how quickly he was rotating out. There were a few times where the Bucks who tried to stretch you out by putting Brook Lopez out there, which is not ideal for Andre Drummond in his debut to play against another Center that just stands out of the three-point line. But Brook Lopez camped out of the three-point line Andre Drummond checked into the paint cut off a drive off got back out and contested Brook Lopez and that was really good. He was quicker than I expected him to be and I think that's the type of thing that when the bronze out there directing traffic on defense and you've got to Anthony Davis making up for mistakes. And if you've got a guy like Andre Drummond out there as well. I can see where that could really work. Now again, this was not a great debut from him. It's not like you're looking at them going. Oh my gosh. This is this is it. This is a call center of the future. It was just an okay performance. But yeah, I'm not I'm not looking at this too disappointed. We saw 14 minutes from a guy who hasn't played since February 12th, and and I thought We saw the good and the bad tonight. My hope moving forward is that you can take those bad things in there the parts of his game that are just not good and you can convince him to whittle that down turn those into Andre if you're going to get the ball and you're going to face up. It's in an emergency situation because the shot clock is winding down. That's that's when you're doing that. I thought his passing was pretty decent better than I expected there on that and otherwise said screens rolled to the basket be alarmed threat. That's what they need you to do on offense and then do what you've been doing on defense now and drop coverage against that team little bit tough, but I still think he did a pretty nice job putting in effort. He looked like I thought he was going to burn out the gas tank in the first quarter cuz he was sprinting up and down the floor every possession making sure that he got all the way down to protect the rim. So hopefully that is something that content that continues in terms of the effort and I'm not going to be too upset about Drummond's first outing..

"I think that's a great counter. And i would also say like milwaukee's been in the mix right if they oughta guy like austin rivers and you know plug a hole in their rotation and he might get some really important playoff minutes. I mean that could wind up huge. Yeah he's good I've always been a fan of austin rivers especially when he was in houston. I thought that you know. He's statistically one of the better so players in the league he can hit a pull up three To like every once in a while he can get hot and they just needed extra depth at that spot. Right dante vincenzo. Were to go down or something like that. Like it would get really really quick for them and he's also used to playing with. Pj tucker and understanding you know how you playoff. Lead ball handlers. Who are going to do most of the creating and everything else so that was a pretty nice move for them. That would be one of my counters. I would also go to the idea that if your team is set. If you have really good front office you may not even need to play in the buyout market. Like let me ask you. Do you think the jazz were like. Oh no we didn't get andre drummond in the buyout like they're they're looking at their rotation saying we're good you know we can pick up a matt. Thomas randomly from toronto at the trade deadline. Just get one more shooter. Just an embarrassment of riches but like they didn't really need to plug those holes because things were set up pretty well. And so i would say maybe casey take a deep breath. I would say that for sure and don't leave the sport just because of the buyouts. It's not quite that series. They don't impact the championship. Like historically they re honestly. Can you name anyone who was a bio player who seriously was a factor in a playoff run. I mean i. Yeah like last year's. I think most important one probably was Markeith morris for the lakers russia. And so how important was he ninth. Most important player for the lakers right So it's not that they're having zero impact. But it's probably negligible but i do think that he casey's onto a slippery slope which is ask these kinds of contracts continue to escalate. You could see a situation in the not too distant future where washington is looking at buyout negotiations with row with russell westbrook or houston's looking out by out negotiations with john wall and when those happen and those guys joined some you know big market team prestige organization. There's gonna be a lot of outrage but it is important to remember. The current versions of the guys who are being bought out are not the star versions. And that was your original point. Which i thought was an excellent one michael so i'm going to put it to you this way. I need a ranking just a real quick one sentence take how much will marcus aldridge helped the nets when the title on a one to ten scale with ten being starting in game seven. Dominating anthony davis and and one being. He's just wearing dress clothes on the bench because they don't even need him because they got nick. Claxton a future hall of famer. Where does he land on the one to ten scale.

I'm going to spare you the entire details. But casey us solid. I don't know six thousand words taking the nba's competitive balance landscape to task by virtue of these buyout situations where a team like the brooklyn nets can go out and grab lamarcus aldridge. A team like the los angeles lakers can just pick up an drummond and drop them right into their pocket It looks like the milwaukee bucks might be able to add austin rivers. Which i think is actually kind of a sneaky edition that maybe should really be infuriating. People accept milwaukee's not that big market brooklyn l. a. team that tends to get so much of the backlash in these conversations. But casey's general premise was that small market teams should be livid and their fans should be livid because players tend to go to the larger markets in these situations the a lot of times a smaller market teams. Whether it's a cleveland and drummond's case a san antonio in aldridge's case footing the bill for these bio players in other words there almost paying them to go away and and gravy train onto a title contender. And i'm curious when you look at the state of this developing buyout market here which i think has accelerated over the last five years or so. Do you view this as a critical problem for the league. If you're adam silver would you be tried to rain this in because we are seeing some really big names also including blake griffin sort of exploit. This loophole to give themselves a second chapter for their careers. Yeah i mean. I want to start just by saying that Howard beck wrote a really good piece on sl dot com kind of outlining why this is viewed as a humongous issue particularly from the perspective of those small market teams where there is a disparity in the league. Everybody knows it. If you're glamour market you have an inborn advantage to building a consistent championship contender. That's just kind of how the league is when i look at the buyout situation. I mean it's obviously not perfect. It's not ideal. It's not even fair. But the way i kinda see it. I think there are some tweaks you can make to improve it. But i i kind of like there's two things one blake griffin an lamarcus aldridge. Are they both signed with the with the nets. I'd think that either one will be on the floor in crunch time of a playoff game for that team. It's not to say that they can't help in the regular season and that they will won't be in the rotation potentially in the playoffs. But like i think their names are a lot more impactful than their actual production like. They are not even close to as good in all. Seriousness is bruce brown or joe harris or jeff..

That's disappointing because he would be I mean if you're talking about it a perfect fit on the roster of the like available types of players. Yeah. He's he's the one but he will likely remain on the magic for the rest of the year that leads you to guys like Avery Bradley. I've always thought I mean for for the past couple of weeks since this has been discussed. Well, look if Drummond plays Wednesday, he he will be in the starting lineup. I actually don't know like if it were up to me, I actually wouldn't play him Wednesday. He is not played basketball in in over a month and half now true. I think his last game was like February 12th or something. "I kind of agree with Bobby hate to say it I have to takes basically it's off one. One of them is this if he goes in the Celtics great, he makes them better. He's an unreal rebounder, you know, he's got obviously a presence down low. How old is he Bobby? 2727 we talked about this guy like he's thirty-six and like honestly, I feel like that that's how people think of Andre Drummond. He's twenty-seven and he's one of the best rebounds in the game every time he plays the Celtics. He grabs like twenty plus boards. I swear he's got like not exaggerating. It was like seven games of 2020 or more rebounding at the Celtics in his career. It's just unbelievable. So I don't know. I mean people are anti-german the way they are understand that he's Limited in on offense and he can't use some ridiculous things sometimes and sure there were two plays this year one where he took the ball in isolation from the top of the 3-point line and did like a spinning fadeaway shot at the rim and then on the other hand there was a play where he got switched onto her guy and just stood there like his controller died while the guy turned right around him and he took like stopped moving. So he does these things sometimes and make your head spin. He takes a lot of shots and it feels like you want he's kind of like Dwight Howard in a way. It's like Dwight Howard leight. He thinks he's like a more Out song. Aspire offensively then he is even though they both have outstanding Talent right enjoyed Howard back in his prime. I know that he drives a lot of people crazy but he was he was a beast to anyways my first home if you go to some extent I think that's great for them. I don't want Rob minutes to go down to 10 again. But I think that that Brad can work it out where if if Drummond has to start so be it. I think Rob should still be able to get home 20 to 25 minutes and Thompson's hopefully the odd man out. I don't know if it's going to happen that way and if I'm if I'm drumming I probably don't put all that trust in Brad to make it out. That way. I I just go to LA because I see a bigger role or go down because I see a bigger role in both those teams are just as capable. If not more than capable of winning a title than the Celtics are right now. Anyways, Me Maybe about the next Tuesday's it's two-fold..

"Man, like like free stuff for some of these bars. It used to be over. Would you trade would you trade for German now? It's just like yeah, except Drummond. You're one of the top teams that you know on that list, you know, so so that's a good thing, you know, cuz some of these bio candidates they're coming from teams that have a record. That's not that far off from where the Celtics fan right now. So I'm like this is a unique case for on playing and drumming because you can obviously put himself out there a deep playoff run or at least someone that seemed like the stuff they will say Hey listen with you need to calm down without you, you know, maybe not so you could sell them on that for sure. I think he's buying that stock because he's taken himself. Yeah. Okay, I can go to Charlotte, you know, maybe get similar exposure or maybe a little bit more of that but then how far they going to go in the postseason. So, you know, it's a very it's a good thing for sure. It's a very thin line cuz the people that hate him have good reason to and I was one of those people at the money he was a bath Because he was just a disaster at twenty-eight million. He wasn't anywhere close to being worth that now as a minimum guy. It's the other end of the spectrum. He's probably a little bit underrated in that sense defensively. He was a big part of making the money is one of the best defenses in the league decided this year. It's it's a free like All-Star caliber player. I mean like you can't argue against it the fear that everybody has faith is what will Brad do and again demonstrate that kind of stuff and afterwards the chemistry factor and it's the the the suppression of Rob. Who is your third best player? Okay. I don't care what you want to say. He's your third best player right now read through the trickiness. Actually your third best player overall. Okay, Cleveland, San Antonio, Oklahoma City in Sacramento Cleveland gets DeMar DeRozan and Jabari Parker, San Antonio gets Andre Drummond and Trevor Ariza the Thunder get Marvin Bagley and Nemanja B Lisa and the Kings get LaMarcus Aldridge. Try out drumming for the rest of the year. See if anybody's got get the best out of him. It's probably going to be San Antonio. They've got enough guys that they can get by without DeRozan there is this year. I think he's probably done there any way a reason that doesn't do anything for them. They take a reason reason is my number one guy to be bought out in the Bayou Market don't think anybody's trading for him cuz no one's going to trade for 12.8 million hits bought out and he's probably got finished his career. My guess is with the Lakers is my guess I'd say he's coming home again for like what's I like the tenth time? He'll be a Laker the 10th. Oh, he's been a Laker what get Mark once? It probably wasn't well at least we know who is Andre Drummond Andre Drummond. Yeah. So we've known for a couple of weeks now roughly maybe closer to a month that Drummond was kind on the trade block even early on this page. Are we expected that that really firmed up when they made the Jarrett Allen trade then at that point. We absolutely new drama was going to be traded challenges. He makes a lot of money. He's very highly paid job is not an easy contract to move. So I think that is where the Cavs are now stuck. They don't want him to get hurt and by playing him so they're not going to risk that. 28.7 million had to look it up just to make sure and keep keep forgetting if it's like 27.8 or 28.7 either way. It's a lot of yeah either way. So yeah, so essentially what the cabs are off. It's saying stay home until we figure this out a little different he is going to guess still be around the team and stuff cuz there's not any bad feelings or anything like that. It's just we're not going to play you until we either find a trade or it could come to a bio there's been subsequent reporting that a bio is very unlikely here that the Cavs don't really want to go that Direction with him that seems like blustered am now this far out from the deadline. So we're we've got a ways to go but they're they're sitting them until till they can either work out a deal or then my guess is if the trade deadline comes and goes and they have not moved him then they'll probably start really seriously discussing a bio when I look at this situation, you know, it makes a ton of sense for the Cavs to put off. No, we're not buying them out. Right because look at what Memphis did last season with Andre Iguodala, right?.
