"I mean i hope we're not gonna see a suspension from that play but it being drew doughty such a high profile player on a nationally televised game and can being so much bigger than him. It's it's hard to not see one. Yeah i don't think there should be one. Obviously i didn't even think there should have been a five minute major but obviously i'm very biased. Look at the hat on my head. But i just thought it was unfortunate play. Yeah for sure. We didn't even talk about the goals in the first period. Though so there were did skip two goals and not first period. The first one going to the kings is just a little past they we we couldn't stop the passes in between and it's just tap and that was after after tons of pressure from them in the offensive zone that we could. That's when we were playing. That was when we were at our worst. I think is when they got that goal in. I was totally surprised that we were only down by one goal at that point and then somehow at the end of the period we ended up with tyler sagan on a crazy one time ago on power play. Yeah for sure that that's awesome to see him. Hit that shot to. It's just it's so cool to see him back in the lineup fagin. And that's where he wanted to be on the power play to and while we're on the power play were caught up on the game time now so now we know why it's the white ceuta one kings my bed. The powerplay took a complete one. Eighty this game like hundred percent the entries into the zone. We talked about it after the game. How it's going to be the dump pass or the the drop passer of the dump in and we have submitted. It's going to be the drop pass. The one thing. I did like about how this drop passes a little bit different from what we've seen in the past the stars is. It's all the way back in the defensive zone so it's like we're stating to the neutral zone then dropping the pass. We're getting barely to are blue line. Even if that and then dropping it back either mirrow or Lindell and i've kept the pass a lot safer and still gave us enough momentum for one of those guys to make a play into the zone and also the passing power play just looked way better too..

"I know it's still comes out every now and then but they how do you rein that in five guys out there on a power play who can just throw it around at will. How do you get the discipline to say. Okay let's take a shot here. Power play for sure a little different than five five and that was maybe our achilles heel and five and five in previous years was always trying to make that extra play. You get a little more leash on power play. Especially when you're you're on the ice with those guys. But i think we've established that chemistry now we've had that same power play group for while and everyone knows where the next play is going to happen. Kuch usually knows to plays us. Maybe wanna play ahead but we all know when you get the puck and coaches hands. Everyone else becomes available and ready and we saw that. I don't think people realize like how amazing he is on the half wall. And i've played with played with mardi saint louis on the half wall and i've get to play with kuch the half wall and to amazing players but i i think kuch could be one of the best all time like on the half wall when he has the puck. It's just it's amazing. And he's more of a playmaker. He's got an amazing shot but he's more of a playmaker and you have point in in the whole who plays that position so well you have killer down. Low plays out position well. Obviously i've been on that side for a long time and hetty up top so it just flows. There's really no. yeah sure. Sometimes we wanna make that extra seem pass sometimes. But that's what keeps the penalty. Kill honest to you. Know if you're just blasting it then you know that seem as never available and sometimes when you try certain plays it's about puck retrievals. That's what the powerplays all about. You know if you can try certain plays but no you're gonna get the puck back and start tearing out the pk. Then those seems become open. So there's little nuances like that that we talk about and you know guys know where each other are going to be if we have a battle if we have a retrieval whereas the puck gonna go neck so you just kind of feed off that and it's a fun group to be part of. I think the last thing we should say is we should send a text to mardi san luis saying that stamkos says he sucks on the half wall compared to ensure of and see where that goes. Yeah think i might get a text after that. No you know. That's the level that that kuchis on him. And marty. I mean and that release like i'll see it sometimes acted heave rollers wrists.

"I don't think there's too many. Think the next generation will be more like that. Yes i think they'll be way more outspoken. And stuff yeah. I definitely think so but for me my personality lake. They might be like that and like the media and stuff like that. But i don't think they'll be doing the same things i did when i i came in the league like they're all delta health and all this stuff now you know what i mean. It's like we okay okay. So what is the best story you can tell us. That won't get us all fired about drew doughty coming in the. You can't believe you did. Oh man well that gold medal stories crazy like being late for the bus. I wasn't late for the bus. Actually the bus left without me. Let's we have to clarify that. And i can have. I'm gonna get the guy that was controlling the buses to to clarify this. Because everyone thinks late but i was not late but that story is absolutely insane socially just tell stories okay. So the bus left without me. I was to ship my gear home. Because i didn't want my luggage because i had to go on the road after the olympics like dallas or something so i was trying to ship stuff. Back to la. I was taking the first bus olympics. Than because i had to ship out this stuff at aside. Take the second bus on the gold medal game and they thought i was on the first bus and the bus. But you couldn't just hop in a cab because you're at the village head to the and there's like so much security everywhere so they give me a shuttle they take me as close as they can to the arena which ends up like hudson bay company like in a mall so i like go to the bottom after like take elevator up in this mall. I end up. Blake walking and then like the lineup to go through. The metal detector is like five hundred people and then i called people like judy. You've got a game like an hour and forty five minutes. what are you doing. And i'm like i please. You guys might like peter's like my whole sure all the way down here and i'm like texting flurry on the team. He was like the third goalie so he wasn't like getting dressed or anything. Like you'll get my guess which is like my underclothes might get that stuff out in the hallway and that same time. The guy that's controlling the buses like trying to help me sneak into because it was his fault that the bus laugh and then so i like get in there dress quickly in the hallway. Just leave my suit and stuff in the hallway and then like walk in and like. I'm not even joking. You like one minute into my walk in there. The coach is meeting begins. Like i got my stalin time. The only people that knew. Mike richards flurry in this bus guided. The only people that knew until mike. Richardson said to say it on. Like a podcast. I didn't even tell my parents or nobody's my mom and like are you kidding injury like you gotta be like yeah. That's a story forever though unbelievable probably because i had no time to think just panicking. That's probably why yeah. Have you thought about what you wanna do. Post career yet thought about it. I don't wanna think about acted like cry. Thinking after retiring but nudge. So hope. I gotta get ninety eight years in my career. I wanna play top forty or yeah tell. My body allows me. I wanna play as long as possible. But the reason i bring it up because one of my kids is played in the doughty invitation which is great awesome tournament a wonderful experience. They still wears his doughty hockey. Invitational with the king's fund. And all that still around the house is out something you want to get involved in minor hockey youth hockey. I think so my leg number. One thing i want to do is like honestly. It's like owner junior team or like work for junior team or something like that. But at the same time i definitely want to. I'll continue to to give back to like the hockey and organiz ation. I grew up playing for. I'll continue to always have that tournament and helping that aspect. I don't know if i necessarily wanna get into coaching young kids. I mean maybe if one of my kids played hockey. I would maybe do it but my dream would definitely probably be on nights or like wellstone that that'd be maitree our last one. The fans would like to hear this. When you first came into the room we were talking. You said you cannot wait to play in front of fans the air. So i think the fans should know how much the mean towards the best I mean when you're at home you know they just driving you to play better. Nothing we score bid goal and you feel goosebumps like we haven't had to goosebumps in a long time without the fans there so and then like nothing better than like getting booed by entire crowd score and just thaw make them all quiet. You know that there's a good feeling. That's a good feeling so No i miss a fan so much so much better playing in front of them. I think that's obvious Fan base is One of the reasons. We're even able to go out there and play because they support us there for us They pay money to come watch us play and they drive the team for sure. Is there one player. You can't wait to play against this year. One player can't wait weights play against. I'm looking forward to playing next ezekie skate with them in the summer Guys play out. She's good and he's like so say skeets and london so i'm looking for. I've never played against him only in pick up hockey so i'm looking forward to did. I don't think i had. But i'm looking for planning.

"This you at the apps and thank you so much appreciate it. Yeah sure it's always good elliott when you can talk to drew doughty of the los angeles kings. Here's joining us in chicago. How is life for drew. Doughty these mean life is good. I got two kids now two girls. So that's kind of crazy that all how this has happened for me. It seems like i just began my career long ago. And now i got two kids buzzing around so i'm having lots of fun with that love being a dad I absolutely love it but You know besides that just I guess hockey's been a little bit tough with the team. Not being very good last year's in not getting back to you know the ploughs and stuff like that so this summer was a big one for me just really worked my butt off to get in the best shape i cared and get ready for the season and things are looking up for us now. We got some new players. Some young guys coming up. And i'm excited for the season to start they listened. They heard what you and l. usual copay tar was a little quieter than homeys. He's thinking the same thing he just isn't going to say it he. He's he's reserved unlike me. I kind of just talk. But i mean everyone was thinking Who wouldn't be thinking that we're not getting any younger. Were running out of time slowly here so i mean it was in their plan anyways. I didn't have. It wasn't because i said anything. I don't think it was in. Their plan is going to the rebuild is over like there are players. This is a team. This is competing for a playoffs. Spot like that. That's obvious it felt like from our point of view. This was like a five minute rebuilt. But i'm sure it didn't feel like that as a player like how these last couple of seasons felt for. It's been hard humming. I don't wanna play the violin or whatever the saying is but once you're on top for so long and winning cops and like literally like five years we were so good and then like i'll son all your friends start in trade way. Now there's only three or four guys left that we want cops on the team guys are retired. Yeah it's just hard to to go to the bottom. I never. I always want to be that guy that was on a team. You know that never missed the playoffs. Type thing. like a lidstrom type thing where. He made the playoffs all of his years. Like that was always my something i wanted to do. And now here. We ira thing. I missed the playoffs. More than i've made the playoffs so i it was just hard. I mean everyone starts individually of calling you out to you know as a top player. A lot of it's on my shoulders of the reason that we had to rebuild. So i mean it was tough. Put a put a lot of that pressure on myself. And now i'm putting a lot of pressure on myself to rebuild. Didn't get it back so there wasn't fun losing. It's not fun you'll mitch. Mars going through thing in toronto where they're trying to tell him the block out the noise like their talent. Stop listening to all this stuff. You've been successful. Even though you are very well aware of what is said about you. How do you do that. Because i've seen it drives people crazy like kinda does drive me crazy but like at the same time you just use it as fuel type thing right. Like someone's county out Well right now. The whole thing is coming out of the olympics. Like so i'm like. Oh i'm gonna get in the best shape ever work my butt off this summer and then have a absolutely hot start to the season so we gotta do that part. But but i'm very confident that it will happen. I mean i honestly played one of my best seasons last year in the last ten games we start calling guys up and giving shots and we lost a bunch of games but i was one of my best seasons. I'm an entire career and A lot of that was because of this noise. I'm hearing of you know guys don't even have me. You know as a top rated defenseman anymore. All your overpaid type of stuff. So you know it rattles me when i read it but like it doesn't take me over anything like i can easily just be like users motivation. Be like these guys are idiots but yeah it as much as you try to block out the noise. They always finds you like. I don't go on twitter. Like looking for these things. But when i'm back home in canada and watching sports snyder. Tsn and also done in the middle of the highlights. They're like oh. This guy wants to say who's gonna gonna make the team and i was like well right in my face. I'm not going to shut the tv off. Wanna see but i'm never looking for it But it does bother me when people you know church near me off things or same overpaid and stuff like that does bother me but i mean all i can do this proven wrong. If i was the kings. I would like that though like i would like to know that after two stanley cups. And all your successes and your contract you still take all this stuff very personally if i was the kings. Oh yeah that would mean a lot to me. I mean. I know the kings know this. But i don't. I don't play the game to play the game. Because i love competing. I love the game a hockey..

"Results will take care of themselves a whole year. That's kind of our thing and it still is in the process. That game is so bad but we still wanna not meco amazing shot not and winter tactic seriously. But it's still felt like ooh like shouldn't have won that game and then games three and four. They dominated us and we got hesitant. Our whole thing is being aggressive and and making plays and being confident in the park and no one really wanted. The puck no wanted to make mistakes. Some really hoping. And i actually not hoping i know will learn from that and you know when things get tough. Playoffs teams are going to get games. That we've got to stop the bleeding a little bit quicker than that when you say the process. What's the avalanches process like. How does it work. What do you have to follow it for your team. The i think just whether we win or lose. I think we're good enough that if we play while we were going to win but if we lose playing well we can't get to down on ourselves but i guess it's just you know for us. We like to track all five guys above their five guys. That's a huge thing for us when we do that. Where actually way better offensively. We don't get lazy coming back in zone. We swarm quick and the diesel on. You know play little physical or not the most physical team. We play fast and aggressive. And when we do that where tough team to beat but Like we got on the heels a little bit all credit to vegas. They were great. They were buzzing against us but even in game five up to nothing going into the third period. You know just a couple of mistakes unfortunate mistakes and the tie the game and when it not and then in game six. I think we'd shot them. Forty to twenty or something. It was just too late. You know they had all the momentum on their side. I think and it's too bad. 'cause you know when you really think you can win you know you wanted so bad and and then you don't. It's frustrating because i've been on some tough teams in my career and we don't have even a chance so when you do have a chance you wanna make account and hopefully this year we can. You know it's interesting. You talk about guys not wanting the park and and being hesitant and we've seen teams. Maybe the most obvious. Examples is toronto and game seven against montreal freeze just raise and and there's nothing like you can't train to not freeze like there's nothing you can do other than just go through it and it's a hell and it goes down sideways but is there a part of you and your teammates said just say you know what the only way to get past. That is to just go through it. Yeah i couldn't agree more. I mean it's tough. I mean when you then you are freezing and hesitant because you really want it. you know. that's the thing you don't want to be there for. Do you think you'd be you'd be loose in that situation. But i think you kind of have to go through it and when you start to feel that again you know you remember how to get through it. I guess and that's not by being hesitant. If anything double down on your aggressiveness in your assertiveness You know what i mean. I can't let that feeling take over. You know 'cause. I think hesitating is the worst thing you can do in hockey at such a fast sport and get the puck you can have a negative with your head. You know has to be an assertive. Thought the confident feeling in just easier to say that now in an interview in september. But that's what. I think our whole team and myself need to pick up from from last year but that makes a lot of sense to me. I don't like overly philosophical about this but you know the minute you're sort of thinking too much you can really talk yourself into bad. Decisions is almost as if you turn your brain off and just let all your hockey training your whole life just sort of takeover and i always and i know we laugh. Sometimes when you know you guys are doing to walk off interview and the interviewer ask you like. Hey what happened in that plane. You say. I don't know. I get that because i would imagine as a player. You're not thinking about it. You're just doing it so legitimately you don't know what you just did yet. I think that's why the you have to go born by feelings than thoughts. You know when you're out there you're feeling confident you're feeling aggressive. And that's it and then we've been doing this our whole lives. Just let your instincts over from there. You'll make plays you'll make the right. You have to trust yourself that you'll make the right decision with the parker. The right play by just feeling good and and being confident and being aggressive and our said that word a lot. But i think it's important that we didn't do. I didn't do it. It all in games three four and five or game more games. Three and four. Like i was hesitant. I didn't want to make mistakes. And i remember. Joe i mean joe is like just let go you know. I was trying to be play the perfect game or you know not take any risks or anything and that's not my style either. So it's hard i mean you know you don't. It's a lot to figure out in a short amount of time aside. You get to the playoffs. It's a short window. You know you got a lot of learning to do on the fly so it's challenging last one olympics and the players. Save this. And i'm sure you play a role i heard that sidney crosby and connor mcdavid did some skating together to try some things. Have you skied with anyone or new with the other. Two of them like i wasn't no super line. I was against them. I was against them and wasn't totally fair. I don't know why. They teamed up like that. But i actually was with on a lion with mariner at that same skates and i play with mearns at world championships in two thousand seventeen and Yeah we have some good cam. We have some good came out there. So he's i love playing with martin. He's such a good player. Such a good passer okay. You know monitor. He went through the ringer. Yeah did you give him any advice. Yeah i mean. I said some words. I probably shouldn't say on here to him about it. You know let's give it to me. Why would just like he. I mean we're just like she wasn't like a martyr down like like who who might say anything to anybody but you know from the outside. I just think he just can't care you know you just can't care like i mean it's a hard league and what if they win that. He has six goals in seven games in the next series. You know it's just you know one series. I remember when pittsburgh won the cup. I think it was sixteen or seventeen. Cup like said to assist in seven games against washington. They beat and they beat washington. It's a team sport. You know and said when the cops might that year he didn't score goal against washington so for marins. I mean he's just gotta keep going use of think people forget he was in the first team all star in the nhl this year. So it's not too bad But yeah i. It sucks away. He was ripped now people coming after his family and stuff. It's pretty pathetic. But you know he's gonna bounce back such a positive guy he's a fun guy to be around and looks at a good time and such an amazing player so charles stuff. Lucky to have him. Okay last one from me. I'm going to be totally selfish. Here is one of the best goals. I was ever out of rink to live team..

"Try not. I knew it was gonna work out. I knew going to work out. I think it gets emotional. People say it's business but it's not. It's it's personal. I think you know. But i know joe at the end of the day really wanted to resign. Gabe man. i know gave on to stay. And i knew they figure it out. I think at the end of the day. Joe wasn't letting gave leave and i know gabe didn't wanna leave. But i was definitely supportive of gabe staying. That's for sure was very supportive. He's i mean he's one of our favorite players to watch a spectacular and sneaky. Tough to a lot of people that are are are finding out. How much does he make. What's that they're finding out with their face. Yes i'm sure brayden schenn's think twice now but actually when i enjoy in junior som- because you're a chr guys Really as a rookie. Handed the jake muhsin in a kitchen or hussein. Ask him but that was a rookie. Someone's going to run at one of the rangers players. And i might have been his first fight. I know was getting asked about that when the avalanche play toronto next year. And you went right. Muslim was like one of the toughest guys in the. Oh l. at that point. Everyone's like landis guy's gonna get it and he did more than all right man shelled. But how much does he make that line work. You're a rhinoceros. oh delay. you're one of those players in the nhl like it must be a nice feeling like whatever you want to do. You can do and you go and do it. But how much does cog make that line work. He's she's huge. I think just even defensively a lot of times. He'll back i. And i'm i'll played his wing or whatever but he's just such a power forward not just for a line but i mean he's the leader of our team as well he just kind of makes everything tick and You know for meco meco kind of has easier time. When games on the icy does a lot of the dirty work goes the net net presence. He's always get hit with pox and getting cross-checked in fron does a lot of stuff. No one wants to do. They make a lot of that too and gives me a lot of room to kinda you know. Play little higher plan the outside a little bit more and chase down. Pucks outweigh no. You're very high standards for yourself. What did you think after this year like. What did you work on the summer. Like do you ever go back and watch the vegas series or anything like that. No i don't need to as more of a mental thing than actual physical thing. I think for us and for me to we got a little hesitant you know. I think we beat them in game two but they dominate us in the second third And i remember thinking like oh like i remember talking on the plane like in our whole thing is the process like be good in the process. Results will take care of themselves a whole year. That's kind of our thing and it still is in the process. That game is so bad but we still wanna not meco.

"It's an interesting conversation is interesting on size. It's an interesting thought exercise. 'cause you're you're you're deep. Default has always know. Marty saint louis but then when you really appeal it back and think about it just be stamkos. I wonder if it's gonna ended up being kucherov. Well that's the that's the other one. But that's on the horizon of the of the rate now boy. It's funny because at the end of the interview you ask him about the power play and he talks about how good kucherov is and we joked that he's gonna get a nasty texts from san louis when he hears how much praise is giving kucherov over him. What about headman. There's another one you throw in the mix absolutely and the other thing too is again. We're we're giving away the interview. But we ask about the three peat and he said the first naming mentions is vasilevskiy he goes. We've got a chance because of him. Right yes boy. That's a tough one. I think it's going to be a honestly. I wonder if kucherov headman point. This generation vasilevskiy goes down as the greatest players. Like stamkos definitely in the conversation. He's up there right. Sixty goal season. Neil the other thing too that really stands out for me is how relaxed. He is now right. The three of these guys one of the reasons. I wanted to put them together as they were all good interviews but just how relaxed they were dowdy mckinnon stamkos. You know like. I joked with you in one of the earlier podcasts. About how the players don't hate us yet this year. This tour reminds me alive when i used to cover spring training and baseball. The weather's great everyone's in a good mood ones in shape. Nothing heard second. Wake up. I can get a bad. I'm not in pain. They haven't been asked the same questions forty times yet and these guys were really open about things. That's one of the things people really have noticed about. Stamkos is and he talks about how much he liked. The second win is opposed to the first one again. I don't want to give it away. People can hear his reasons but after they won the first one and he scored that incredible goal coming back from injury. People around the lightning talked about how much weight it took off his shoulders. And the fact that you have a championship next to your name and how much it changes you and but the other thing they talk about and it's something that we talked about after the tampa florida series. Live here as that. The lightning have this reputation as being a genteel bunch of guys when really other teams think there are a bunch of nasty killers and know they get away with murder because everybody thinks they're a bunch of guys. I i really liked this interview. Best lightning ever boy. That's a tough one. That's a really tough one. that's all subjective. Like the way i've always looked at stamkos is and i guess you can make the point. That headman might be this guy to some extent as well. There have been two great eras for the tampa bay. Lightning both eras culminating in stanley cup. Victories and i've always seen stamkos as the link between the two. You know the guy that had his foot in the previous say dynasty because just one stanley cup. But in that era of tampa where they won the stanley cup and this era of tampa where they're winning now multiple stanley cups. That's how i've always seen stamkos. Zia always saw saint louis as sort of the the emotional trigger of that team. You know some lightning fans might say okay. The way he laughed maybe that changes their vote. But i always saw. San louis is kind of that guy. Every team has the emotional heartbeat And i always thought it was him but way to start the interview by making me disparage one of our guests by saying he's not the best lightning ever. Okay then follow it up with disparage drew doughty as running through players because as he pointed out during the interview. That's fuel for him. It's funny you know. This is the one that's going to drop after the martyr one and we talked about you know monir ignoring the world and things like that right now again. Stamkos talks a lot about this too is is what's fuel right and and i do believe there's something to that you have to find. I think in the grind of season. You have to find extra motivation. You know there's going to be days you wake up as you said you're not feeling good. Something hurts you wake up in the morning and you feel like crap. 'cause you're on a long road trip or your three games and four nights and sometimes you have to find that little something extra. That gets you through it right or says okay. That's what's going to drive me today. And i and i think there's a difference between fuel and being consumed by things and you know stamkos dowdy. There's no question that they use this stuff as fuel. I mean doughty. I mean this whole interview. It's it's just. I was listening to it again yesterday as i was preparing to write the blog. And the guys just hilarious. I mean in. He'll get to the story about the gold medal game You know the whole thing. I was listening to this. And i i was i was as the whole interview was going on. I was almost like i. I can't believe some of this stuff and you know great for him. you know. The sport needs collar. The sport needs this kind of thing and doughty is a guy. It's like he steps up to the microphone and he knows i'm here to put on a show and he just delivers but it's like i always say like some people out there. They mistake kindness for weakness. Because you're a nice person. you're soft i. It's almost like because he can be so funny sometimes. They think that he doesn't care. I tell people don't mistake that just because you're outwardly friendly or your outwardly. Kind doesn't mean you can't be cut throat when it matters and doughty is cutthroat when it matters quick little aside from these last few players that we just talked about so these two guys steven stamkos drew doughty. They both go one two in the two thousand eight. Nhl draft and. i.

So i i'm not gonna wait till next year for this to happen or the year after i'm looking at where the kings have have placed in with regards to scoring goals the last couple of years. That's what they need and it very much. Looks like rob. But yeah the bottom line is they've got to score more. I'm looking for the team to score more and if they can do that then i think they're going in the right direction and and giving us all hope that we're we're starting to turn the corner where we can look forward to some some players you know becoming the core the core of the team you know going down the road jimmy storylines that you'll be keeping your eye on You know as a group. As nick talked about it. You know. it's the youth but but to me to me. It's the honest if you're interesting it's drew doughty i. It's i think holy models if he plays with them. I think that's an underrated move. You know we know only model. You know what you're going to get. I mean he's been around long enough. He's not an impact player. But he's just he's that complimentary player and you always has been but he's seen enough ice time to know exactly so if he plays lime. I saying doughty. Because he's on the team and it's just you know he was trying to do too much for the first time in his career. He was trying to do too much. And and there were some games where. I was saying to myself who i never ever seen. Drew doughty make a bad decision. You know what. I mean The his read on the game is as good as anyone. I have seen no especially defenseman. I'm talking about you know. Where do you go when that split second decision. When you lose the puck when you regain the puck. How quickly do you attack you know. How many times have we seen drew doughty attack. When the other in their change he reads that boom he catches them off guard. But there were some you know. There's some weird things in his game last year. And i think that's understandable. I like it because to me. He didn't mail it in it at all. He he never. I could never imagine him doing that. I know since he's come into the league. I've always said drew don't change. Don't change a thing your attitude. The way you approach the game your skill you re don't change last year a couple of times in my mind. I'm going. Ooh you better change that up a little bit. You know just because he was kinda caught. So that's that to me. You know it just. It just falls into place because and i think if it's not coming through now it's only because of my immense respect for drew and what he brings and you know i. I was reading watching something. The other day i guess where they had..

"He's right cuz we haven't seen the place since March eleventh. But anyway, they acquire Ramada and a trade this morning for Brad Morrison who goes to Chicago and I just want to say this briefly at the top about Brad Morrison and then we never really need to talk about him again. Cuz this is wrong just an acquisition. I was not a huge fan of Brad Morrison's game didn't get a ton of opportunities to see it. But I am you know people I've been seeing a lot of people say online like oh, this is great. It's model for nothing. I actually think it's model for for improving yourself by Divesting yourself of that player's career, I won't go into detail and I don't want them aligned the guy. I'm sure he's a lovely guy we wish him the best of luck in Chicago, but I think this is just as far Talent Swap. This is great. I think this is fantastic. Yeah. I mean, it's it's clearly a salary dump for Chicago, but at the same time, you know, the the kings were able to get a dog a young defenseman still even though he's been in the league for quite a while that has experienced and has won two Stanley Cups. So anytime you can add a player in his twenties that had the two Stanley Cups under his belt. It's something to look into and and be excited about you know, I don't think he's going to change the the Kings roster immensely, but it's definition in addition to the left side, which is obviously something that the Kings have a lot of question marks going into next season with yeah, and as far as not changing the roster very much, you know last season wage. At the left the position the Kings played. Alec Martinez Derek forbort Yoakam Ryan Ben Hutton, those are for NHL veteran players who are gone now. Yes, and so replacing that wage Mana can't replace four guys. And I understand that all four guys didn't play on the ice at same time. So it's not exactly being asked of him, but just looking at the minutes played Martinez played 21 minutes and 31 seconds of game Yoakam Ryan played Nineteen Minutes and nine seconds of game hot and played 18 minutes and 16 seconds the game Michael Anderson played 18 minutes and nine seconds the game, so I wouldn't be shocked to see him put in a full season in the Kings uniform but Derek forward played 1751 kale Clegg in his brief time with the Kings played 14 minutes and Curtis McDermott played less than 14 minutes a game. So when I'm looking at the left side of the defense and I'm looking at the acquisition of only Mada and I'm thinking to myself. Okay. How is this going to play out only mod is not a 22 23 24 minute a guy 24-minute a game God. Drew Doughty is Right Drew Doughty averaged almost 26 minutes the game this season and that was being nice to Drew Doughty. Right? Like he I think he would probably prefer to play 29 or 30 minutes. So even if you do put Mata on the left with Dowdy on the top pair and even if you do get Anderson playing 18 to 19 minutes a game on the second pair wage are still asking Curtis McDermott to expand his minutes per game by about six minutes 5 or 6 minutes, and I'm not entirely sure that that's But he's capable of that or it's wise even if he is. Yeah, I mean, I agree so, you know, broke it down a little bit there and you look at the right side of the for the gangs is is set and we know it's going to be Dowdy. We know it's going to be Walker. We know it's going to be Roy..

"I know everyone hates plus minus but let's just look at the top paid defenseman, right the second highest player Drew Doughty eleven million dollars off with a negative 16. So for everyone who's like toward Cruise plus minus first of all, I thought we don't care about plus minus any more but we don't we don't plant certain people. Do we want to trash a player though? He he made six million more dollars than Torey Krug to not put up. And have a negative 16 great. He makes $9 a year. He didn't even make the playoffs and he had a really crappy season this year. All of our acting Larson who I think is very overrated as a defenseman. He got played 8.25 this year by Arizona top. I don't know not really produced month. He had 27 points in a -12 John Carlson who whatever he's a beast. So we're not saying crap about him. He was number one was 75.6 Burns who I love and absolutely as a better defensive defenseman didn't even make the playoffs. He got eight paid 8 million dollars for 45 points and have a -12, Okay. So I'm just saying this rhetoric of like his whatever if you're not going to sign Torey Krug, there are practical reasons not to but some of the reasons not to sign crude are stupid or he's got whatever like no events the San Jose shot just paid a third of their scat calorie to three defensemen costly hasn't even played almost into Seasons because he's always injured and that do gets eleven meals, so I'm saying is considered Torey Krug loneliness is 15 games a year and is your Fitness point-getter? Maybe we could consider his value on the team and not just the dumpster fire of last year off during this was something I was thinking too. So Petra Angelo, he makes six 5 now that dude is going to make some bank. But I'm sorry if Ivan provorov can make 6.75. You can pay Torey Krug 7 million or 7. I'm just if you want to do the comparables, so yes defensively you don't get all you want. But Ryan McDonagh got get 6.75 and does not offensive Lee movies on that team and that's a Powerhouse team like McDonald's all I love him like whatever. I thought he was going to get a tough when he went to Tampa. He still waiting around but it's given me given all those years of questions. Yes. So my question is this, this is Chris Van Cuusoo at Mancuso 9797. How long Chris man who's off? Would you rather have Torey Krug or grin and a UFA? So real quick, let's run down at least are who we have for USA in our Fey, but UFA could be anybody's UFA that's out there on the market, right? So in addition to career We have Chara we have debrusk. We have grzelcyk. There's a couple people I think still down in Providence that need to get their cheap money, but it doesn't always count against this is just the list from that counts against our cap. Right? So everyone else is pretty much locked in for a season or two. Those are you USAA's in your office right now, so we'll ask the second part of the question after let's just focus on the touring crew or Griz in a UFA. This is going to be a very hard question for me to answer my car read. So I am going to let you go first, right.

"We no longer have a tanner pearson or a Derek Four, but we're you mad about that. No, are you mad about Adrian campaign now? Are You mad about Rasma? Scoop? Are You mad about gay alert? No, I'M! Sorry I got to push back on the one only because Tarasenko was taken right after him, so that one could. But your point is well taken is so much positivity to be taken from the draft in general, you're getting a good crop of players to choose from in general, so the fact that people put so much emphasis on the number one overall, a teams not doomed because of it. In fact, there are some teams that have been doomed because of, and they've been given the number one overall pick and look where they are so there's so much positivity like I. Do I am the. Office. I mean obviously the most recent experience with the lottery. Last season was disappointing for kings fans because they dropped down to fifth, but. I think everybody's perfectly happy with the pick of Alex Turcott. Going going back to seasons to the two thousand seventeen draft, the Kings again dropped down to eleven. But they wind up with gave already act like. I'm not just like the copay. Tar Pick I. Think it, you know. The kings prosper as a result of a player who should have gone higher in the draft falling to them now with velocity. Obviously, there were the health questions, and probably a lot of teams pass on him because of them with with Kobe Tar I. Think honestly it was just because he was from. From Slovenia and I. Don't think there had been a Slovenian hockey player at that professional hockey player at that point, but either way to your point, it just goes to show that talented players can come at any pick in the draft. US and Brown was thirteenth overall I think Jeff Carter was also a couldn't been eleventh, but I think he might have been thirteenth. Drew Doughty was second Jonathan Quick was what a third round pick. Kyle Clifford was the second round pick trevor. Lewis was the first round pick. So you know just goes to show. You need to build a franchise, not just rely on that first overall pick having said that. I would be very excited. Carlin if the Kings got the first overall pick tomorrow. I, mean after hearing what Chris Peters had to say I'd be pretty excited to honest. And he's and he's one of those players to that safe you are. You're already stacked at that position, and maybe you don't need that kind of depth. You still go with reference. Say you know what I mean so it's. Wow Yeah, it'd be special if if the Kings got that and we're able to pick him, yeah, everybody knows about the Kings. Defensive and goaltending and senator depth on the wing. Guess you've got. Kaliev, who's very exciting and you've got fog Amo-, but other than that you know I think most of us are relying on players to transition to wing from senator whether it's you know jared Anderson Dolan or Thomas or may be velocity or madden or a Turcott..

"That that's a tough one. Bruce is you know. He's given a lot of credit for regular season. These dumped on for playoff. And maybe I let my relationship with him just in. It's not really a close relationship. When he was around the kings for a while so I tend to look a little bit nicer on Bruce than than maybe most people. Now you mentioned John Gibson And I'm sure you remember Fox. Maybe you do to Jesse listening to Darryl Sutter When he was asked about John Gibson shutting out the kings and and the the remark. I always remember Darryl said. I don't think he'll ever give up a goal. It's let nobody is ever going to score against his kid and that was a typical. Darryl Sutter retort to a question like that And of course you know. Maybe the kid reads it. Maybe he doesn't mind games. Go on with coaches a especially in playoffs in all sports. But that's the one thing I remember after Gibson shut out the Kings In that fourth game was Darryl Sutter. Just a cab sarcastically. Telling everybody all ease the best goaltender we've ever seen. Nobody's ever gonNA score against them. And I think if I'm not mistaken in the same I don't know was with Darrell at one point. You're saying oh he's the best goaltender in the world by John Gibson. He's about he's the best you know little bit earlier earlier in the relationship with Jonathan Quick Johnson already won the Stanley Cup by then but earlier. That relationship between Darryl Sutter pick. There'll used to do that on purpose. Just Josh Terrell Jonathan up a little bit just to get him on edge because he always felt that Jonathan played best when he was on an drew. Doughty is on record as saying that Anytime they would play a team whether it was the sharks or Chicago that had a big prime number one defenseman on their roster that Darryl would would say something along the same lines like you know out Norris Trophy winning defensemen over their best advancement. Dowdy said a few times. I think that he knew what what sutter was doing. And and he would laugh about it but that it would work anyway did he would still come out and have a huge game. Let's go ahead and talk about games. Five and six we talked about the addition of Tanta. Pearson we talked about the addition of Marion Gabric. But there's a player from two thousand fourteen That we didn't talk about even when we covered all the defensemen and that's Jake Muslim. He scores the first goal in game. Six Drew Doughty paired with Rob Gary. All through the two thousand and twelve playoffs but in two thousand fourteen. He's paired with Jake Muslim. Jack or sorry Jim. How did playing with Muhsin changed out his game and make that top pairing better than two thousand twelve? Well I think it. It gave drew a partner that could counter attack to also and I'm not sure I think there was a pretty big differential withdrew previously in that state. Home Guy Withdraw all the time. Mas Probably early skirt was more so like that. But his skating is so underrated his power his ability to close gaps then is ability to go the other way off. I think as the playoffs went along. Mas was used more and more in situations offensive zone. Faceoff get him out there. Make sure he's out there and I think for drew that just that gave them now. Ju- didn't have to single escape pressure more so than in the past he could just dish it off to the other guy and that would be mas than Muscat. Do his thing to and again Muhsin goes into the category of that type of player. We were comparing twenty fourteen additions to the two thousand twelve team and and their strengths which obviously was defense and goaltending and we talked about no adding Carter and a Pearson and again averick into fully on the back end. You Know Muhsin gives you so many more weapons and not disparaging guy like Rob Scuderi. But there's more to Jake. Muslims game than there is to skit aries. And and that's just another weapon that kings could use especially on the power play. Even though he was a young player he got his share power. Playtime in the two thousand fourteen playoffs and I know when he first came up. One thing that I took my I when Muhsin was that left quite he had a a real good ability of just kind of hesitating when taking shot to kind of forced the defense to make that first little. Move the shop locker if you will and that would give him a little more opening to get that puck through so yet Jake Muhsin Had A lot of tools that that as we found out came out beginning with the Two thousand fourteen playoffs. So you guys know that. I like to pair. Up Games and playoff series. We have the kings and the ducks tied at two games apiece. After four with an even goal differential games five and six five goes to Anaheim at home six goes to the Kings at home again maintaining that similar goal differential heading into game seven. You could make the argument that the two teams are neck and neck. It's dead even And then game seven. The kings put the definitive stamp on the series. I remember again being at the Honda Center. We were sitting up in the upper bowl Behind the ducks net defending their net. And even though it was just the second goal of the game and it didn't wind up being the game winner I will never forget. Jeff Carter scoring that goal and to me. It felt like the game was over in that moment gem. I'll ask you again to validate my crazy theory that there's always sort of a signature game where one team pulls away in really beats the other one and that to me was game seven. Yes yeah I mean. It's I mean when I thought back on game seven. I have a very personal thaad which I'll get to in a minute but nothing in Corey. Perry gets a penalty shot. This is first period. So obviously unsuccessful. Quick gets the job. I'm not a what if guy but if it's to one early in the game right it never gets to find enough. It never gets to that to that point. So that's just one of the things. Now that I look back at the numbers. Look back at the game sheets. Just try to figure out what's going on there. That's that's something that stands out to me. You have may have you just have I look at that Game Sheet Jesse in one thing that just how many different guys participated getting it done. And that's that's the thing that stands out to me. How many different lines? But then Justin Williams with two points in that game is it gets the scoring started is it is it. Just you know part of his little chip in here Japan. They're not the superstar player but man. Can he be counted on? It's it's impressive to see what's going on there. I'm just looking here. At the Muslims. Total was twenty two minutes. Nice time in game seven game six. It was even higher than that. It was twenty five minutes so yeah just so many different people in this game. The one thing that stands out to me is the penalty shot. That's what kinda catches my attention. You know that's a two-goal swing as it turns out within about a minute because Perry get stopped on the penalty shot at fourteen hundred eight to keep to nothing kings and at fifteen twelve a minute four seconds later it's makes it three nothing so what could have been a two one game at Honda Center in game. Seven is now three nothing kings and the kings just build from there. But yeah I I'm with you. I mean it's hard to say that a game seven series isn't the pivotal game of a playoff series. But given point in that game seven. I agree with you totally. Is Jonathan Quick Stopping Cooper? And it was and it was a good read by quick. If remember really did make save on hope. Check as Perry came in so and that that's a play. You don't see a lot of goaltenders do on a penalty shot but Boy that was that was just huge. That was I'm with you. One hundred percent turning quite in game seven and It's it's the relationship if we want to call it. That between quick and Perry was very competitive. I'll just say being nicely so that just kind of puts in the back of my mind even more. Yeah I was listening to the entire game seven last week. And it's just uncanny. How many times after the whistle? I'm mentioning Perry's being pushed away from quick after the whistle You know Perry's around the net. He deflects the PUCK. Quick is complaining to the referee talking to the referee about the contact. The traffic so yeah. I mean it had been building for a few years and you know to great players trying to get the better of each other. And that's what makes you know the game within the game so exciting so much fun to watch. Jimmy mentioned that. There was a element to your recollection of this. Well it's just Again it's second round so we are no longer doing game broadcasts so we're doing post game in preparation for post game preparation for me. I would be in the production truck the entire game I would be watching from. They are preparing highlights. Doing telestrator is getting things ready. Now it gets to five nothing now. I'm inside the truck and we're in Anaheim. It's a Fox sports crew. But you know a lot of those people are closer to the docks. They worked very games more so than kings games. So you don't WanNa be that a rub it in guy and I don't WanNa be that guy out I'm not that type but just because of my mindset in nerves you know the ducks made at five to right before the end or rate at the end of the five was a five one and then five to early third at that point just be. I'm getting I'm not doing the game. I'm prepping I walk outside the truck. I can't watch anymore. Honestly I walked to the furthest point I would say north east point of the parking lot. There is no one outside in that parking lot but it is packed and I just keep walking. I keep looking at my watch. I can hear inside the building. I mean I can hear what's going on with you. I can hear that but I can't tell what's going on. I just can't right I just don't know so I did to the far point and I say okay it's GonNa be down now. You're getting down to lease last ten minutes so I turned around not walking back towards the bill when I get half and I'm I'm the only person in.

Washington Capitals' Nicklas Backstrom Scores As His Own Agent With 5-Year, $46 Million Extension

"In the time since we last did. ESPN and ice the PODCAST. ESPN talk about hockey nick. Backstrom made agents irrelevant relevant. That's that's fascinating. Yeah well I mean if everyone could just have as good a relationship that Niklas backstrom seems to have heavily on the tire. capitals organization. Then we wouldn't agents at all five years forty six million dollars. An average annual value of nine point two million against the CAP. Some bonus stuff like he did the thing I mean maybe maybe agent could have got more ridiculous term or something but I mean from a dollar but dollars perspective. He did quite my good from self and he keeps his own agency. I mean this is genius like the how much more in real dollars Nick backstrom get for the agents out of the equation. He's quite smart. And I've gotta say the One guy that's probably quite not happy about this. Is Brandon Hopi. Because this is kind of foreshadowing what I believe to be true. Is that the capitals now will not enough money to sign Hopi to a long term extension. They haven't talked yet and it's now the earliest Samsonov era but look good on Niklas backstrom. He's making the other guys like drew doughty. Who didn't get the best deal when he did it himself? Look kinda dumb and the caps got this guy for another five years. Look I understand what you're saying about Hopi. I completely understand that I get it. I get the capital's goaltending situation that said if he fires is agent and hires Nick Backstrom. I'm sure he'll get the deal that he's looking for with the capitals officials. Nick Backstrom is now the new Pat Brisson. This is the second career

"Right if you ask questions you want opinions for players not the canned answers and if you twist the words you get Bella check answers onto the next city we're on Carolina Rhonda Cleveland. Oh and Steve Sorry. I'm twenty minutes late in responding naptime. He didn't appear reappear. I today which has been a recent trend for Rick Josh Rights. It's why most players stick to the canned answers guys like him. Go off the map and is like the hockey hockey young and the restless storylines. I've got to admit Steve The the least interested. I am in the in the scope of a hockey game. Okay from the pre-game show right up until the finish the post game show. I just have no interest in these these post game interviews with the players or animation or a intermission. I just you know the the questions. Lame the catch you guys. You know whether they're up or down on the question is going to be well. Do you think you need to what we work on the next period. Because you guys are down a goal or if you're a goal to go a- are you going to just maintain what you've been doing because you're winning y'all go with yes. Yeah Fuck I think so I got I got no inches in the post game interviews and stuff like that. It's it's you look at the score and that's what you're going to get but they've been doing them for years they've been doing them for years and years and years and It's always just struck. This is totally on interesting. I think that it's just connecting right. It's connecting what you're doing with the players and In terms of actually getting information or getting anything interesting it rarely happens busy. All Gem from time to time I would say this Watching Jay Gee Pasha who was the star of the sends win over the Rangers. And he's clearly their best Centerman now. I I've been saying that for for basically since. They traded away Mac Shane last year. That Jj Pashas our best center. Now this just in. He's proving that but he has a couple of goals in the game and played great and so he's interviewed and he brings up on his own. The concept of a game kinda turned after there was a couple of fights ascends were horrible in the first I ten minutes of the game and then the second half of the first period they were awesome after a couple of fights and Patio getting somebody's taking liberties with Piji. Mark Bore Viet Ascii. Came in sort of things out. There was a fight and pies yo on his own basically said you know what that really changed the momentum in this hockey game and I was like Oh Hallelujah an and but it's constantly second guest by so many in the media in so many among fans it's like Oh that doesn't change momentum. That's ridiculous what are you talking about right and and I would wonder how many players need to say exactly what J. G. Pasuq did before they start for the average person who who hates fighting and thinks thinks it has no bearing on a game. I wonder how many players have to come forward and say stuff like that before. Anybody takes it seriously. You'd almost have to tie them to share and give a thousand. NHL Players a bullhorn and get right in their face that fighting can turn the momentum of a hockey game. It galvanizes a team. When you've got a guy who stands up for his teammates right? You could say that as many times as you want A. You're wasting your breath with a lot of people when we come back on the show we're going to get to WHO Discussion About Rory mcilroy Remember Brooks kept saying a few things. That probably didn't sit. Well with Rory mcilroy Some said that was overblown mcilroy does. There's I listen to stuff like that. Well apparently he did listen level. Bet So we'll talk about that in just a second. I WANNA remind everybody that we've got some great sponsors here on the show like all insurance durance Ontario. "You have a funny story about the Washington Redskins Schneider whenever his first name is the guy who owns the Washington redskins. Dan Snyder The downside a- apparently called one of the worst owners sports redskins are one eight at the time. When I read this story they saw they suck? They haven't made the playoffs in four or five years now for years. I think they have made the playoffs. There's a brewery in Washington called the Fairy Brewing Company company that there are frustrated fan. They're big supporter of the club. So so they have decided to come up with a beer that they're gonNA brew. They're going to release it anytime it's GonNa be. It's it's some sort of Indian Pale Ale beer. What is going to be called? I've got in front of me here. You want the harpers ferry brewing. And they're live in the Washington redskins being one eight so the sending a clear message to the owner. Dan Snyder who no one in Washington likes. It's basically what the sends fans are with gene. Melnik right now. That's the same relationship between Washington owners or Washington. Fans Dan Snyder so the brewing company sending the clear message to Snyder with its new sell. Sell the team. I I'll take one of those Selva Team Beers. That's just great. I I love this story. Yeah that's the. That's the name of the beer folks live team go under read. It's either comments about it. Well they're pulling no punches. She's with the description of the beer. They describe it as bitter and slightly disappointing like trip to Fedex field right and there's also so some other things that you want to know about this beer It may not appeal to everybody. You won't need to consume many before you no longer care about the redskins performance because it's nine point five percent alcohol by volume. Yeah stuff is stuff. Is Vodka. Sell the team. I P as as in you'll forget about another horrific Washington loss. Yeah that's the. That's the greatest thing I've heard. Man That is the funniest thing. I've heard brilliant move in terms of marketing to to sort of their drift away from the MIC that's I don't think I hear all kinds of different ways to come up with with names for beers. Ease oftener jokes themes. I don't think I've ever seen a beer be named in terms of like encouraging someone to do or something right right. I you know what I think in Ottawa. Right that's just think of right away of course with the sense that you know that some some of these other companies sponsors are gonNA come up with some pretty good. How about every time the sends lose come on in for a cold peace of retail? Peter you know something like that Stevie yeah committed commitment rent a car from budget and it breaks down in about eight clock. Excuse me. That's Oh that's hilarious. That's hilarious excellent. Isn't that a great deal. Absolutely yeah and and you know that some sense fan is twirling their mustache right now. Going Woo woo-hoo you've given me so that's painful. Come come come to our dental office. Do root canals with over freezing. She's good indeed. It is.

"Canadians. I think are better position than say the blue jackets who have to take on the Bruins. Now, the Bruins. They're just playing out the string as well. And they've lost two in a row. They lost a Florida and Detroit back to back night. So is it going to can you envision Boston losing three in a row? So that could be tougher spot of the blue jackets against Boston. And then the hurricanes are in Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs may believes already clinched a playoff berth second back to back. So right now, it looks like the blue jackets might have the tougher of those three games and looking at the standings in the Eastern Conference. Here's the way it looks. Columbus says the first wildcard would ninety four points. Carolina the second ninety three Montreal as a point back, but Montreal's at a bit of a dilemma because they've got one less Rowen than Carolina four less road Wednesday in Columbus. So Montreal needs to pass Columbus. They're gonna have to do it be the points. They're not gonna wanna tie breaker against the blue jackets. So really they look at being behind by three points to Columbus instead of two because tying them is not going to help now at Carolina. They're only one back in the row wins and with three games still left. They still could pass him in Rowen. Wins. So Montreal still has a chance. Everybody else in the Eastern Conference, mathematically eliminated, Florida, Philadelphia, the Rangers and the like so that's three spots. Two teams are going to get a mantra on the outside looking in. So every game becomes a must win. So should be fun. Watching those teams go at tonight penguins. Still can get home ice. They're going to be in Detroit to take on the Red Wings the front end of a home and home for the penguins jets and wild from Minnesota can eliminate the wild jets trying to clinch the central stars and the flyers stars pretty much locked in. They could still possibly when you look at the standings in the central division. The Dallas Stars have eighty nine points to nationals ninety four. So they're not going to be moving and they have three point cushion on Colorado with three to play so Dallas trying to avoid dropping to the second wildcard. But really when you think about it from a matchup standpoint, they probably wouldn't mind dropping to the last wildcard. 'cause they match a. Better with Calgary. They seem to have the flames number so Dallas in that nebulous position. They know they're in the playoffs. But you know, do you want the first wildcard the second wildcard avalanche and the Oilers Oilers, mathematically eliminated the avalanche again only got one point in their game in hand, but very winnable game catching the orders and the second back-back, but the avalanche also playing in the second back to back will the avalanche. Go back with grew. Our who's been their best goaltender. He played last night in that loss in overtime. And shootout to the Saint Louis blues that's huge sharks and the Canucks kings in the coyotes big for the coyotes two points back winnable game looks like the kings are pretty much mailed in law seventy two last night to the flames drew doughty after the game says he wishes you could play all of the rest of the games in succession. He just looking to get this miserable season over with. So maybe the coyotes can take advantage and beat the Los Angeles Kings. But the coyotes are going to need some help to get into the postseason, but still what an incredible story the retort about the coyotes on the last Tuesday of the race. Season which just three games left. Still be mathematically alive the playoffs. Something anybody saw that coming at the beginning of the

"Hockey kings win here tonight, three two in overtime on a drew doughty goal. And that's Doughty's. Seventh goal on the season. All of them have been scored on the power play the kings did get a late power play because of penalty assessed Jonathan caves at four thirty of overtime. And boy the kings made it tell they did get the puck all the hawks were able to clear it out of there in the kings did regain the hawk zone. Doughty firing the game winning marker just a tough way to lose. The hawks outshot the kings the hockey game thirty five to twenty nine, but it just didn't get the
