"dream team" Discussed on The Full 48

"Kevin was way injured by that time but there were a lot of really great players that never got consideration if they if we go back in time and we recognize how dumb it is still have a college player on there with the pros and this this this amazing team that assembled in this oddity on the bench. Let's let's go back in time. We throw Leitner off. Who's the Twelfth Spot Goto? It's probably still not Isaiah right. So who is it? Not According to what the history was by the way to the Leitner argument obviously came down to Lake. Nur Shack and everybody agreed from every quote that I've ever got. They all got no room out. Shack would be much better. It'd be funnier. He's going to be a better trump. He's a great guy he would out on the Ramblas with Barclay. I mean it would have been. They would have been a great. It would have been hysterical but everybody said correctly. In my opinion Lakers one of the what ten best college players ever his body of work the fact that he had done all these crappy. Usa Basketball Trips. When he staying in you know Yugoslavia. Ymca Without Water Leitner. Did all that stuff so late. You deserve a shot. Who would it have been? I don't think it would have been Isaiah. Let's say Michael had not said anything. Maybe Isaiah but I would guess probably knowing the committee they would've liked James Worthy a little bit more than Dominique that he was now. I don't know James is physical condition by then. This is the three years after the Lakers. Won their last one baby remember. I can't remember whether James had a niece or anything else gone on but you know it could have been named him so we just saw how. Domineering Jordan was in with the Bulls and for obvious reasons. But that's a team context of an NBA team. Mj With the Dream Team. And you've got magic and Bird Drexler and Charles all these other larger than life figures as well was Jordan. Just as domineering with the Dream Team like the dynamics of leadership work when you've got nothing but the greatest of all time altogether. It was very interesting when we were over there and everybody that covered at the six or seven that were to you know Dave do pre Bob Ryan Take Mike. Wilbon was around most of it You know a couple other couple other people that you really got to saw say the hierarchy within the hierarchy and as much as Jordan was it the hierarchy of the leg. He was even more so the hierarchy that Dream Team. I mean it was so clear now Larry and magic where the end of their career. You know sort of bird literally so he retired. He came back. Magic still probably had some gas in the tank but obviously other things were going on with the with urban so there was this hierarchy of Jordan and right underneath pippen and Barclay in terms of what they were going to do as players for leaders. Right away one of the things. Chuck Daly was worried about was Well like you said everybody. Alpha dog the two obvious captains are magic and Larry because the oldest they came into the league. The obvious captain though is Michael. 'cause he so good so chuck had to kind of work this all out. Michael says to him. I don't want to do any of the ceremonial stuff. Give it to magic. And Larry Larry says between the two of us. Magic is better at the stuff than I am. So magic became kind. Flagbearer the guy with the quotes feeder. When you wanted something even Karl Malone said we go through magic but within the team leadership there was a little bit of mumbling once in a while well. Magic saying hey. This is my team and everything. I'm ever Chris. Mullin told me David Robinson couple of other people. It was Michael's team. It was Michael Tape and Chuck. Daly used to say they tried to figure out who to start in the various games. You know because it really didn't matter jumped used to go gimme Jordan Pippen and then I don't care because Jordan Pippen were shutting everybody down. That's that's just the way it was so if you had Jordan pippen out there you know you really didn't worry whether Charles wasn't up to flight had been out too late it. Maybe the jump shots not falling. You were going to win the game interesting low though Howard the MVP if they were giving it was Charles. Barkley shot like seventy percent. He just he just couldn't be stopped you know. He got the ball near the basket. They didn't know what to do with them. You know he ran the floor so he was probably would have gotten the MVP award whereas everybody knew how MVP awards are. And I went into it actually in this week's blog that it's not always what is it exactly well. The best player was Jordan but probably the. Mvp of the tournament was Charles simply because it was. So unstoppable near the basket I know. Angola had no chance against him Charles. You know the first game the first Game Charles. You know before the game comes up with this memorable quote and you've heard it and I continue not exactly to know why it's so funny justice justice. I don't know anything about Angola it ain't goal is trust. Then he goes and throws and elbow when they're in the midst of a forty six to one run. That's difficult if they're playing against me if forty six pretty difficult and Charles to the end when I interviewed him for the Green Team Book in sitting there defending why he threw an elbow at Hector. Coimbra it's like but it was a big deal at the time it was. I remember this. We're laughing about it now. I've laughing about it. It seems like quainton funny in these great old stories about the but at the time it was considered like ugly American type of behavior at. You're you're just brutalizing. Bullying these over completely over overmatched teams that it did. It did not seem cuter. Quaint at the time and was not covered that way. Well there was a whole a whole dialogue over there. There was a whole anti Dream Team dialogue over there. We're just you guys first of all you're taking away all the attention from the cute little gymnasts and the swimmer I get that I mean I used to. I don't know about you but even today I mean I watched the Olympics. You know I wanNa see track and field. Because I don't see it when I when I went to Olympic Games when I covered them. I covered five or six of them whenever possible. I went out. Watch track and seal. I watch gymnastics. I didn't go for the basketball. And so nineteen ninety. Two was the first year basketball. You can't you cannot exaggerate Howard. How the Dream Team overtook Barcelona and I understood a little bit the backlash about it. I did it just overtook the entire game and the US Olympic Committee in particular was not into the I o C. Loved it because it was money in the coffers? They understood the attention you know. Juan Antonio Samaranch wanted to photograph with Michael and Magic But to the USO. Say This was not. This was not a happy thing. The Dream Team. Not at all because we look back. It's the Dream Team. So even the name. The title Dream Team which relief came from a sports illustrated cover from one of your stories. It just projects this this kind of idealistic image Dream Team and we think of the players involved in everything so we can all wraps. It is about it all these years later. Do you think the players still was it. Was it this amazing fraternity that we would like to think it was and do you know all those guys universally still kind of treasuring it and putting on that same pedestal that we are believe it or not. The one word answer to that is yes. And that's why I got lucky. The Dream Team the idea to do the Dream Team book came from an editor Random House. Who said look? These guys is going to be twenty years later. They've all been pretty successful. It's not like we're GonNa have any sad stories. They're going to have perspective. Let's see what they think about it and to a man all of them. This was so such a big part of their life. That's why I got lucky. I mean it as as you know chasing down athletes to get them to sit still and talk to them for two hours you know. It's that's the challenge once. I had them in front of me. Games over. You know. They were all like fantastic. They all treasure this memory. They all got something out of it. They all took something back to their teams. Well Larry you know retired but kept on us a Celtic executive. They all learn something from somebody else. It was that was the most Kumbaya moment of the whole thing in all these guys careers championship. Mvp Awards finals MVP awards with the slight exception Jordan. Who Kinda said eighty four when I was a kid. That's the Olympics when he blew up power. Did you recall in Los Angeles Michael Blah? You know he's a little bit more. Well I remember eighty four finally finally but this was a big moment for all these guys really was. Yeah and I I will say this and not to get down to this tangent because I know you need to go to but it struck me in reading your book and listening to to some of the episodes the Dream Team tapes the the access and the openness that you got from these guys is just astounding considering these. These guys are almost all. They're all hall of famers. There's some of the biggest names in NBA history. They are you know celebrities. They are they are everything and I think about where the NBA is right now. We've got all this amazing talent and then guys are just so much more closed off and careful and I don't know if we're going to see something like this again. I don't know if I don't know if the redeem team or any of those that have come subsequently will be. I'm sure they're all is interesting for for a book purpose but the the kind of candor and access and generosity you got from these guys I just don't know if we're going to get from another generation of players because of how much more careful closed off and also just manage these guys are and of course to and it's perfectly defensible. They've got so many avenues themselves to tell their own stories. They've got their own media companies. Could all these different avenues. But I found myself a little wistful for. Oh my God. Jack went out and you hung out with Larry Bird for a couple of hours Michael for all this time and you got this this just these fantastic stories and and thoughts these guys that I just. I feel like it's become so much harder to do in today's NBA. And that makes that makes me a little sad because I feel like we don't. We don't learn as much about these guys as a result and if we do it's through a very managed prism right and I like I said I was I. You know I'm not going to say ten percent of it. Was you know I had covered these guys I had not? I wasn't parachuting in from nowhere. Horse and part of the story the Dream Team Bookstore was you know. I said from the beginning that the least interesting part of it is kind of Barcelona. The more interesting part is where they came from so it was kind of cover these guys back in the early eighties but it did have a lot to do. Howard with the ID of twenty years perspective. And I wonder if fifteen sixteen years from now you go to Lebron and maybe he will really up to somebody. What did it feel like you know to GO BACK TO CLEVELAND? You know what? What did it really feel like? You could probably get it from Steph Curry. So it's easy for me who started covering the League back when there was more of this understanding. Fortunately for me between in what the job of the press was and what the job of an athlete was. I just got lucky that I was in that age and it wouldn't even be easy now. I mean I'm not I couldn't call up Michael and he probably wouldn't come on. I'm glad I had these voice. I don't know whether I could get Michael to come on. I wanted to make this appeal. A podcast about their voices from the past. That's what I kind of wanted to do. So would they come on now and talk as easily about it? You know. I really don't know but I was lucky to have been there and there's one advantage to be an old was. I come along and journalism when there was more of this implied communication understanding between the journalist and the athlete. So so you're young you got in on the you've got in you got it on a little bit of it. I got some. Yeah no listen of it but it is. It is harder now. It's different now and one of the advantages of being back then. Was that everybody of had this idea that communication was the way to go so I got lucky. Well little more than luck but folks use you if you want to hear many more of these great stories and the tapes themselves the players themselves and a lot of great narration. It's the podcast. Is the Dream Team tapes? It's on apple podcasts. I just looked it up. It's on spotify. Sure it's probably on all the other platforms to this. Has Been Fun Jack. Gladly able to get you back on. I know you've got a lot of promoting to do with this. So thank you for taking the time and Always appreciate it my friend been a pleasure Howard and I wanna take this opportunity to apologize to people because I sing a bar of something on episode.

"Rewatch ables. We're doing the entire ninety seven. Nba Finals concentrate in the last two games. But this is such a fascinating document in so many different ways. This is. Jordan has become unassailable. Great at this point he's a superhero. Were all assuming he's going to be He's GonNa come through every step of the way. No matter what obstacle Utah Team. That had been around for a long time. We didn't really have a feel for them. Not Enjoyable to watch. We're about to cover bulls go sixty nine and thirteen. This is the culmination of just a brutal twenty months that we talked about on your podcast. And we did the wizards pod were they had hit this. This point of their basically the Beatles at this point this travelling circus. They're covered differently than any sports team ever. All that stuff jazz go sixty four. Eighteen eleven three in the playoffs. They beat the Lakers. The clippers and famously the rockets stockton hits the three The Lakers series. That was the Kobe ball series kind of lost in the shuffle where Shack first-year Eddie Jones Nick Van Exel. Pretty even series. I I remember in the moment thinking. Oh the Lakers beat Utah. You always loses. Utah's done and wasn't the case. It was MVP. Carl Malone still being an MVP so any we get to the finals and the subplot emerges the real MVP versus the guy who won the MVP but then this whole other thing about no Karl Malone was actually offered this year twenty seven and ten incredible defensive player such a good passer the double team. The whole offense is built around him. You know he's a deserving. Mvp where did you stay in in nineteen ninety seven on this question heading into the finals? Do you remember your do. This was none of us like watching. Utah back then okay. No-one did and even though there was never series of ours necessarily rooting for Jordan. I was I wasn't rooting for the Utah Jazz it just it was the NBA finals. It was on an there wasn't anyone. I was emotionally connected to about the entire time now because I was a huge Barkley guy and I know I'm biased. I've always thought Barkley was better than Malone and I think these this series is does not this. This is a bad series or Karl Malone fans by the way it's awful You had the number one guy in the history of the League setting you up on every single possession your entire career and malone was a really good shooter for big. He was incredible as a rebounder. He's pretty good as a passer as a closer on the wing was putting the knee up like pretty. Yeah Yeah and dude. He played every game. He played every game and he was actually a real tough guy. Like when he and Robin getting into it. There's part of me like want him to fight. Rodman for real because he would've twisted Rodman up. I mean he just he just would've but whenever I see some of those dollar memes about five four three build your Dream Team. Carl Malone's always unlike the four dollar line when he's on it and Barclays always on the three dollar line and when I think of peak bark versus people alone I know who I'm taking I'm taking Barclay. I wouldn't even argue it. But the the composite the full stat picture of WHO Carl Malone is is incredible so the fact that they're in this finals they have this incredible record. They're awesome at home. They have this amazing homecourt atmosphere. That's like ruthless. Which is part of the Rodman story when he says something about Mormons and gets fined. And then there's a weird Jim Gray interview where he starts crying before game six it. He was out to lunch. The sears right. He's he's so bad in the closing game I respected what Stockton and Malone did but it might have been the first time I was realizing something that you and I have just started talking about more and more the separation between playoff basketball regular season basketball. That if you'RE GONNA run this pick and roll with these two hall of famers you're GonNa win a bunch of games but when I look at Utah in the series there's like three or four guys who Utah they wouldn't even play in today's NBA. They're playing minutes in the NBA finals. So you have the two thousand seventeen finals. Golden State averages one twenty one point six a game ninety one shots a game in the finals games. The cavs were one fourteen point. Eight nine point two goes again this ninety seven finals and it gets worse. The next year the Bulls for the series eighty seven. Point eight points. Jazz were eighty seven. Point two seventy four point eight field goals for the bowl. Seventy one point two for the jess say that the differences. What how many shots? The difference is basically thirty five shots again towed out a lot of that too. You could talk about. It's not even defense. It's not in both teams. Were slow paced teams. Chicago'S SLOW PACED team. Because they're running their stuff but when you're running these side pick and rolls or malone a pin down where somebody comes up only to try to get it back to him in the post that takes time and that's what they did

ESPN's Michael Jordan documentary - Reactions to Episodes 5 and 6 of 'The Last Dance'

"Welcome to the JALEN and Jacoby after show. Jalen once again here I am live with you right. After two episodes of the last dance on a Sunday night that again blew my mind. It just keeps getting better and better every single Sunday night. What are your initial reactions from episode? Five and six so many different reactions. Jacoby Your Guy de Thomas was left off the Dream Team. Michael Jordan sort of separate himself a little bit from that decision. I WanNa Talk Salazar raising hair about that. These episodes Jalen rose. I loved watching the greatest of all time. The grote one of the best athletes that this species ever produce struggle on the golf course just like my driver Michael Jordan. Only feel you my time. I'M GONNA give everybody an underlying theme somebody to play with the Bulls after Jordan air. Something that I saw that after this moment everybody that Sina Dot can now run with Republican. Something so the. Nobody's discussing you notice. A couple of the Bulls employs like the equipment guy. Light the media relations sky people that were really close to Jerry Cross. They envied Michael Jordan. Success and fame. They envied it. Remember the part where he even called his security sniff. Brothers remember that part of course as people who now know all of the parties involved and same thing with Pr. It was like Oh. They thought he was such a big deal. Yeah he was the biggest deal and so this is what went through. The building ultimately led to their overall demise after the winning six championships well. I'm glad you mentioned his success. And his fame because that was explored in depth this evening and not always the positive and we do see the positive the endorsements and the deal with Nike. But we also see the negative and it seemed like he was a hostage in his own hotel room and they did a really good job of just sort of what. It's like to be Michael Jordan. Now you know what? It's like to leave a hotel room and a half fans outside a hotel and going arena and have people want your signature but granted you regret. Nba Player superstar. But nothing to the level of Michael Jeffrey Jordan during the Mid Nineties and this documentary this evening did a really good job of showing how. That's something that we all want. We all want to be like Mike. But when you are Mike you want to not be like Mike. And it was such a such a really well done portray. It's a IT'S A. It's a sentiment that we've seen so many documentaries in so many behind the music's where oh it was fame and we wanted. We want we want it. We got it and then it turned bad but I felt like this evening. The did a really good job of explaining exactly why. And how and what? The experience was like for Michael Jordan. During that time what do you think? I think it's great throughout these series to acknowledge how he became the best player in the League in eighties. Saturday Sports: NFL Playoffs, Remembering David Stern

"And be our sports correspondent Tom Goldman joins me now good morning Tom happy new year Layla happy new year so okay so we're excited the playoffs are starting with the teams that play is opening weekend aren't ones will likely see later on in the season is that right I want to make sure you really are excited very X. you know in recent years that has been the case that the teams playing this opening weekend aren't the ones we'll see later on since the twenty thirteen season the two teams that played in the Super Bowl did not play on this first weekend the so called wild card weekend and all those Superbowl teams had buys the first week now there are of course were exceptions the the last team that played on while Kerr week wild card weekend and made it to the Superbowl the Baltimore Ravens in the twenty twelve season in fact the rate of the ravens won that Superbowl two so do any of this weekend's teams have a chance to run the table like the rave instead well you know all of them believe they do but realistically one or two I would say the New Orleans Saints they're playing very well they're a team to keep an eye on and of course you can never rule out the New England Patriots winners of six Super Bowls since two thousand two including last season although the patriots have looked a little less than a dynasty in the last month or so the patriots so we can't we can't talk about the patriots without talking about Tom Brady might this be it for him well you know the patriots host Tennessee tonight this is the first time in a decade New England is playing on a wild card weekend an indication the pats haven't been as my eighty this season if they are truly vulnerable and they lose to Tennessee it could be Tom Brady's last home game and that would be a big deal he's forty two although he said he wants to keep playing pass the season he could be a free agent at season's end and if the patriots don't re sign him and decide to go younger at quarterback and start a new era then Brady could sign with another team now that said new England's favored tonight the patriots would love nothing more than to quiet the doubters and start the March to yet another super ball but you know it's a game people may want to watch just in case so let's have it and take a minute to talk about NBA commissioner David it's turned he passed away on new year's day what are your thoughts on his legacy no well it was a vast legacy his impact was profound and thirty years as as commissioner which ended in twenty fourteen you know I think it's worth recalling nineteen ninety one when the great Lakers player Magic Johnson told the world he was HIV positive stern and braced magic at a time when the world wondered whether it was safe to even touch people who are HIV positive red aids the publican NBA sponsors were wary but stern supported magic he paved the way for him to play in the nineteen ninety two all star game and the ninety two Olympics for magic was a star in that star studded Dream Team stern educated himself and teams and players about the disease and you know a lot of this whole process helped change the conversation and attitudes about HIV and aids that's NPR sports correspondent Tom Goldman thanks Tom you're

Remembering David Stern

"Longtime NBA. Commissioner David. Stern turn passed away on Wednesday after suffering brain hemorrhage he was seventy seven years old. Here's Jeremy Shop with remembrance of the man left an indelible mark on the sport of basketball ask ball in his thirty years as commissioner. David Stern made it possible for the NBA to scramble from the brink of bankruptcy and irrelevance to a position of global significance unthinkable in the dark days of the late nineteen seventy s and early nineteen eighties. The League was beset by drug problems. uh-huh teams were going bankrupt in the finals. Braun tape delay that stunning reversal of fortune is why stern will be remembered as perhaps the rapist leader of any sports league ever. Of course the League's rebirth can be attributed solely to stern savvy and toughness. It wasn't stern turn after all who fashioned from clay transcendent Larry Bird Magic Johnson rival rate. It wasn't stern imbued Michael Jordan with his gifts. Either but make no mistake. There might be no other sports executive ever who so deftly utilize the tools at his disposal. No other commissioner so clearly recognized recognized and exploited the resources of his sport with Stern in charge the NBA called itself fantastic but it was really a star factory the league marketed. It stars to the Hilt No league ever better mastered the art of Marketing Than David Stearns. Da at its inception seven years before the advent of the Internet not to mention twitter or instagram the slam dunk contest was a phenomenon. must see event created by stearns Lieutenant Edrich welts people too young to seem Jordan versus Dominique. In the heat of the competition can hardly fathom how big a deal it was then in nineteen ninety two. There was the Dream Team. The ultimate expression of stern strategic thinking of his desire to make the league a global brand Dan with Jordan and magic in Barclay in Olympic uniforms. The world was suddenly. Cyprus turns unique brand of basketball. Diplomacy and capitalism ah soon the entire planet would be turned into a marketplace for NBA TV rights. And eventually the jerseys players such as Lebron James Ten years after the first Dream Team won gold in Barcelona yao-ming was the top overall pick in the draft. This was not coincidence in in. Its own way. Yes arrival was a milestone in the same order of magnitude as the magic bird rivalry in the rise of Michael Jordan. There was a good reason why stern headed seat. On the Council on Foreign Relations in terms of his management style. Stern was not a man to be trifled with he could be intimidating demanding reading imperious. In fact all of the above but he can also be charming and refreshingly blunt and honest even on the subject of the Owners for whom he worked for example when the New York Knicks lost a court battle about sexual harassment in their front office demonstrates that they're not the model intelligent management of course under stern rain for so long. There were many challenges and controversies. Even as total revenue players salaries skyrocketed. There were too many lockouts. There was infamous Pacers Pistons Pistons Brawl in Detroit which exposed yawning disconnect in the relationship between players and fans. Tim Donigi veteran. NBA referee went to prison on gambling related charges but in the end David Stern will be remembered for all the ways in which he elevated the game enriching his his owners and the players popularizing the league and places where it had been virtually no he also helped create the WNBA and champion day. Back when stern took over it would have seen it best unlikely that the NBA would become a global behemoth. It's perhaps the ultimate testament David stearns vision. The now it all seems to have been

David Stern's greatest act as NBA commissioner was supporting Magic Johnson after HIV diagnosis

"When you think about sports that have massive worldwide appeal their soccer of course and there's basketball wasn't necessarily always that way specially when he came to the NBA and back to the early nineteen eighties we can say the NBA was flirting with extinction David stern took over the reins as commissioner and grow it into a five billion dollar per year industry during his thirty years as commissioner former commissioner David stern died Wednesday afternoon at the age of seventy seventy had suffered a brain hemorrhage on December twelfth never recovered earlier on the who collected podcast with Brian Windhorst are Jackie MacMullan I've met a lot of amazing people in my life but he is the smartest person I have ever met Brian I he had an answer for everything now they also might not have always been correct but god forbid you challenge him which we all have done from time to time he was just here the sharpest sharpest mind in a very very sharp edge to him as well which I think he very freely acknowledged throughout his you know his tenure as a commissioner he had some blind spots of you know you talk about the blocks the people that supported him I don't know this for a fact that you've got to believe that Donald sterling was one of them because why else would he have looks the other way the way he did yeah I know that's that works landmark Georgian also so you know he he's nobody's perfect of course but I just what I liked about him was there were when things matter to him like supporting women in being fair to women and whether it was a woman reporter or these W. NBA players weather was being fair to African Americans and making sure they he was so fiercely supported in the other the other example I always give is magic listen Magic Johnson was HIV positive none of us understood it in fact even urban himself when he right before he was a how to go on stage to tell everybody this is what happened to be internal on and once in one rose in his agent months Adam you know what you're gonna say something you know what one of just going to tell them I'm just gonna tell my have aids and lan said home urgent you don't have H. you have the virus that causes age I was in seventh grade or something like that right in our sole so none of us understood the severity and and David stern was up late at night Colleen medical experts all over the world to try to stay one step ahead so he could understand this crisis that he was dealing with and of course you know when Irving retired the first time and then came back and retired the second time and then you wanted to come back when you want to come back the first time that's when everybody starts it will win and I the all star game Jackie right right right we also right but that was that was accepted because that deck didn't count no one was going to you know that no one was going to play too hard that was sort of thing is a one time thing will will and you know that was the Dream Team but then when he wanted to come back following that Brian that's when you started to hear the complaints wait a minute I don't want to risk my life there was and their owners saying Hey I am not in support of this I don't want to do this and and what David stern told was all right listen I'm just gonna tell you right now if we don't do this first of all you can expect a lawsuit and we need that kind of bad publicity the we won't let it H. I. V. person and then the second thing and this was the hammer this is the hammer David stern news and I don't think this is been reported very widely was widely was this okay if you're not going to let him in and we're gonna have mandatory HIV testing for everybody in the NBA and are you all sure that you don't have anybody on your roster that's HIV positive because I'm not sure and this is the kind of and he just he was going to do the right thing by Irvine not because he loved Ervin Johnson because you did because it was the right thing to do and those are the moments when I admire him the most when even though there was I mean his legacy was at stake there imagine if that had gone badly in the attic on rock and remember we know now all about HIV that is treatable that you can live a full life with it but you can't you can't get it from exchanging blind or or I mean exchanging you know some live or or but you know blood if you you know all these things that all these scary things that back then in that climate because I lived it everyone thought will if I get near him and hugs him I might get aids we have aids but this but David store was one step ahead and he was telling everybody you bet I'm you know I'm going to fight this fight and if you aren't willing to I'm warning you these are the things that could happen and now I mean Magic Johnson told me flat out he gave me my life back he saved my life that's what I've been told me and I believe on to saying Wednesday he was devastated quote David star was such a history maker when I announced in nineteen ninety one that I had HIV people thought they could get the virus from shaking my hand when David allowed me to play in the nineteen ninety two all star game in Orlando and play for the Dream Team we were able to change the world David stern died Wednesday at the age of

No they're more niche which games but i know the games i love have niche communities that love them as well so i know so if you're not if you don't if you can't think of one that you love it when hates what's a game that you hate that everyone loves. I already said it black ops two black up shit. Did you have a game. You hate that. Everyone loves neo pets. What you know off the i hate that everybody loved ones the one i think agency dude. I think that's the one i was gonna say. I hate each one zero one. H one z one i it has never appealed to me. Once when i played i tried. I tried really hard to get into but every time i play and i'm just like this is kind of. I really don't like this game kind of sucks. Oh gave me love by. Everybody hates gershon minecraft talk. She's okay well. You love mine at least on the channel on the channel but the one game we'll see the problem is the one game that i left there and hates. It's not everyone hates. I don't think many people hey there's just not many people try to give it a chance. Same way like talked. The games just died because for me to bring a lot. I bring like bringing that game where it's like really cool and the concept was cool. I i tried so hard like i did because the premise was still good but man. Oh man did they ruin it. Arts was so sick to it was like this. It was like road hog the game everything was like just slap together like all the guns were made from scrabble and it was sick but like when you play really wish suck the one game. I love to everyone hates. Okay okay so i'll name a few because i'm not entirely sure evelyn hates them. <hes> gotham city impostors absolutely love that game. It's pretty much way tried to my original channel. Yeah not not many hated mother wins again would be monday night combat and super monday night combat never absolutely love those again. I think problem was just not enough. Exposure those games under so dope though you wanna talk about who did it first super monday night combat go look up some of their characters and you might find certain monkey. That does a lot of things that you know. It's just like they were pretty dope hero. They're like a hero. They don't miss that anyway those and then you know if it were to aegean sapphire. I had just walked it just enough pokemon sapphire even as a kid. That's not something i ever thought like how much you have to serve in this game. I it never really liked a._t._m.'s but he's got used to it. Plus surf was number one. I didn't like surf actually use them. Pokemon yeah surfers. It was a good movie yeah. <hes> leo wyatt wants to know if there's one game you guys wish was multi-player that you could play together. What would it be geyer him. You've elder scrolls online bra sky sky room like like it's different from elder swells online discuss different skyward sword carrots were matt scherzer jesus. I'm stupid. I've never played breath. "Oh five if you three were picked to create a video game together. What would it be platform. Type art style style etc almost shooter frye think. I think it'd be very like animated shooter yeah. I think you guys like animated kind of pixellated. It'd be like hiking pixel but honestly what i would make. All three of us have a lot of games r._p._g. Would be my favorite now if i could pull off like the writing r._p._g. And i would go like leveling leveling system. I would make full f. p._s. Imo i would make that pass m._o. Perfect that like so you'd make destiny no centrally i would make what rumors had titan was for the four overwatch because rumor wise titan was an f. m. memo with like heroes like tracer and stuff that had abilities. That game sounds dope. I'd love that i don't. I don't know how it was like hardcore p._c. Yeah what i think it would be as create your own character but see now this part just fantasy. There's no way to do it especially bounce but have your own hero shooter where you're able to make your own to some degree. I guess you'd have to like have some sort of mixer mixer where there's like certain components to an ability and you can mix those to make certain abilities and then you can put the three or four buildings you want on your character and then you have certain staff. I have to grind that would either like increase cool down or damage of whatever weapon is in bla-bla-bla. Somebody would be p._c. F._i._p._s. imo although realistically full on like actual medieval game would be sick. Oh hell yeah and also read dead. Online is a game. I would make so. I'm glad it's actually happening. I'm glad i don't have to make that one. That would be my thing delicious. <hes> at brek p wants to know. Will you be doing more podcast and will they be he put on itunes or google play like i mentioned earlier just i wanted to. I knew we were going to cover this early but also uncovered at the end. I tunes going to do my best and if i ever get it up it'll be down to description and i'll probably tweeted that whenever it goes up otherwise probably on soundcloud because as far as i'm aware i can just put it on soundcloud and have it good down immediately really and then google play. I haven't actually thought about that. I guess i can look into it <hes> but it i'll probably stick to itin san clad and an estimate podcast it all depends on on the reception of this so please because i guess it describe it comment that it it makes you watch the ads. Click on them. Some success at darth ryan youtube wants to know who's the fourth. I think we know these talking about. At least we've narrowed down from pudi paul jake paul and leafy. We're still. We're still just thinking about it. Most people who's the fourth dream team member because all destiny to v._p. Modes going forward or for before so we don't know we we we had no idea we don't even know for yeah. We'll have enough official. What we might do is just throw people in as you all know where to have a group of friends routier record with so it could just be for whoever's on then or a rotating waiting in a rotating for it. 'cause we already do have extended dream team. We can also even do like guests shows like maybe data on one or something torres special guests data special guests so we don't now we don't know good question. I at paradigm broken asks. What's what's the one game you love that everyone hates and what's the one game you hate that. Everyone loves ooh one game. I hate that everybody loves the one. I'm game that i hate that. Everyone loves backups to that is that people are back in their desks. My favorite that was so good. I picked up black ops to you played it for a night. I returned. It never touch again..

"Wow thank you know one for sponsoring pondering sponsor shutout shut up you know i've been using nothing for about like two two or three weeks now and i'm pretty. I'm pretty happy with it. Makes me happy at all. Gives me a nice like medium. That's very good triggered like i didn't have anything previously and i had nothing and i still don't have anything else. You know i can't get any worse. Are we gonna do accent. Maybe some rapid fire q._a. Here right before the podcast. I asked based on twitter for some questions for the podcast. We're going to run through some of these. I you fellas ready. Let's dance at connor wests thirteen eighteen. What are your guys is favourite games now well. I guess technically are the answer then we we jumped. The gun is recovered. Yeah i said league <hes> <hes> he he technically asked what our favorite games ever but we've done that i- twice i think in our previous as you can go check those two at c. J. z. efforts. What was all of yours first impression on meeting each other so i would mainly say i mean robin. I <hes> so far back. It's hard to say i mean he's a cool kid asked. If i wanted to work jaguars sweatshirt all time you did really did with blue blue we'd briefly type before this was so we we all know we talked about how we met but my first impression blue was i tweeted out if anybody wants to nightfall it fall as doing it with subs flu was one of them and so blue hop dan and some other guy and bluest talkative. We were talking we made there's some joke joke like the only thing i remember about the nightfall meet some joke about harry potter and i was like this really funny and that was my very first night. Fall is a really fun enough that i invited invited back to do the dream team and then you we are but that was my first impression of balloon then robs first impression whatever we went to record this guy i mean you're like video with blue and i was like who do you like some guy. Didn't i fought with he's funny all right and then we joined the party and joined. He's i have blue as i would've done it. No first impression is no real. You didn't feel l. Strongly either way wasn't really first impressions. It was more like we'd started in our here like when i first met rob it wasn't like when i was we're or the videos i oh dude little. Did i know little. Did you know he's active. What is salty and he's a rage machine. The the second time i ever hung out with rob was the nolan beyond challenge and man swears. I was like this guy swears a lot so the picked up on it and then i picked up the hawk censor i felt i felt so bad guilty realty 'cause he was like so broken after hawk mood even texted moseley. Kill you cool now. He's fine. He does that jeez. I mean i watched his g._t. Videos before i guess he blew up so i already knew what to expect and we did the knife on. There's a lot of fun fun in the nightfall and i mean you could tell he had been with a bunch of quiet people because he was like he was like come on like someone. Please talk to me. It's <music> joke. There was some other sub in there but he's really nervous and like never talked so i joked with blue. If he had talked maybe he would have been the third dream team. Member and blue wouldn't almost feel replaced replace them all right at f- bro underscore score t g. What are your favorite food and least favorite who i hate vegetables anything vegetables i really i hate nuts communes. I love my favorite..

"I know a lot of people people still enjoyed it and the thing too is like some people look at the series and be like well. You know eighty thousand people still watched true but i have to make sure that like like the channel has certain like an average quote unquote. Well kind of be able to make sure like it's healthier but yeah to make sure it's healthy the to keep going with it if there's enough interest to gauge and i know a lot of people like the rest and stuff and we did too and so then season three rolls around and we're like okay so there's a lot of controversy review yeah. We're going to go back to random. This is boring. You guys aren't <hes> like what is this <hes>. <hes> you guys never get anything done. Die with all your stuff at this and that like all rob does all blue does build and all through does explore ah that's the game yeah yeah and after we'd done sixty episodes whatever arrest like there's only so much we can do. It's really it's really hard to be random because a lot of the reason why felt people like season one more is because when fruit started recording he would come in he'd be loaded like he'd have everything ready to go. Oh he'd have guns but that's because i would spend like five six seven eight hours before the video video even started getting all of that radio like the and the house of horrors spent forever making that and they're just go yeah just for one most of those episodes like we try to get as many episodes so we've tried to have as much fun as we could but it was like it would take me because that's just the kind of game. Is you have to grind the stuff that you get and sometimes we'd go on servers and we leave and it's all the stuff i bill got rated so it's like well shit like let's find a different survey. Take time to record a whole bunch so in a rust. If you're a day away from your base odds are it's all so especially with one person the thing yeah so i had to do their own thing and i couldn't be on every night miring the rest base because you know i'm trying to do my own too so season. One was cool but like it wasn't sustainable because my weekends would be preparing the base or i would take like i. I don't know i would take off early a couple hours from work so i could make sure everything is set up so it's like it wasn't sustainable way too hard to do it was cool going like different services and making random videos. That was cool but it's like there's only so many like battlefield server or that settlement or whatever that was this game on so so much. I is hard man. It's hard to make content for and when we started with that first episode when we recorded like two episodes. I didn't think people are gonna enjoyed that much because normally what happens with let's play for does pretty well. You do a second video pretty decent third third and fourth administer dip in and dip in season. One and two arrests were the only ones where it's like wow like they're still staying steady which is like that's why i say a when i looked at minecraft i immediately saw the signs that it just wasn't getting as much support because rest season three of what we have so far was doing the exact exact same thing. It was like well. It's back actually an man well. Don't we can't dan. We tried to please you also coming back. I mean it will probably find some way to end it in like an episode or something but for right now until the game gets like a huge update or something is going to keep it as it's hard to play man..

"Anyways fifty thousand views on average on youtube now is talking to pay for me to live hand. Pay my student loans. I see you like jake paul. Breaux six million video like i can't imagine thing is i'm doing fine now like like if people are like listening mr fruits. I'm not stopping anytime soon. I mean still at its current pace. I can still do this fulltime if that ever changes ages am. I have to do something but like i'm still okay. I'm just looking at it for other people because technically i'm like according to social blade top five five thousand and it's crazy that even there so like the cut off just a little farther back must be rough for people that hate it. I feel like it's gotten really hard for people under like half a million subs well the thing to it doesn't it doesn't matter ed or sub to this is just how many of us it's just like the average stats you see for like a channel of that size even for them. It's getting harder. We have the problem is you could get there. Here is is right there. You could get one hundred thousand video. But how often are you uploading because if you're if you're only up twice a week one hundred thousand you know oh still that's if that's your only income. I don't know if you can make your only income. It is rough man yeah so aw there's just that weird taboo scary and sporty creating. I think it'll become part of the norm support. Your creator set the -til the are yeah going to too long didn't listen. I didn't listen if somehow you skip straight to support your graders if they now okay now if jake paul is making a patriotic okay like greedy dog we talked about that but which <hes> speaking of youtube there's there's a currently louis ended a series shown. Do you guys want to talk about mine craft. He said okay. I knew that i knew i was going to be kind of controversial. You guys wanna give you guys want us to give you the real we started mine crash because rest was getting hairy and and we know what the thing to we would have done anything but you guys chose minecraft the most for the again. It was a charity goal which i made very clear in the i video and to be fair. The first video was most viewed. I think most people are like what's going on and there's the most craftier there's must hate and people people are what is this. They didn't give it a chance fair enough. Mildly problem was okay well after that. If you see it's minecraft understand click on it but then the problem was everyone who did good like it the support that out fast and then on top of that some people are just so picky. The whole point is let's play and i mean to be fair. People had nitpicks looks like <hes>. I don't like it when people use creative or i don't like that. You miss so much off camera by couldn't control we're. We're doing our own like. There's no blueprint to how to do a let's play. We're doing it our own way and i never also like the whole if it's a let's play and somebody's like this. This episode was kind kind of boring. Not it d- video especially games are action packed all the time bro. It's not unrealistic expectation yeah yeah so that was the problem with russ primarily so we ended my for now because it just wasn't getting as much love.

"Place a place with me. I enjoy league like in maine bro for the same reasons as you enjoy. League are the same reasons why enjoy paragon. It's just if lee were like still going through growing pains so you're so invested in it but you can't leave it like you. How much would you put it in the league like thousand bucks a year. You can't leave it. I go. He can actually request a seattle on request. I can't believe mike can't to over two years ago and i think it's been like thirteen hundred then but you why didn't you want to know i have not regretted a penny no not completely and that's with me and i have not regretted all the time put into it because i enjoy the game so much but like with youth league. It's like okay. This game get pissed me off. This could piss me off and make me like break several controllers. Are you gonna come back and play it day. You're god damn right you. Are you know me damn mo vas do clubs. I watch i watch the competitive every week. Then i watched that and i'm like oh man now now now i gotta go play like man. No this is how use it goes. You watched him like i can try that. I get on absolutely second. Yeah that's about right. It's like robin hartson nicotine his whole while but you know damn well that man's going to play hard stone the next day nothing he can do fisher bro. I've never uninstall well her story no matter how mad i got i've never understood league my friends who have granted with however. They have definitely gone through you've ever been i think gold gold two or go one. I've never pushed. I should someday because i think i'm a player i just haven't having grinding the ranger <hes> diamond and then after diamond is master after master's challender because technically master masters is the challenger waiting room 'cause challenger can only have i think one hundred people per server so challenders founders literally like top one hundred or top two hundred and then because the thing is it's so weird so diamond one in league. Which is you know pretty much the top top at the top you go through leagues like let's say you're at silver five zero l. p. l. p. is just the ranking system it esau czar. Let's say so at zero point here at the beginning of the league. If you get two hundred points in that league you go your promos which is a best of three or best of five depending on what legal so you go through your through promos if you win best three if you're in silver five..

"It's just people don't want to put the work in for them. So it's it sucks the people who really want to work. Talk guys guys listen. Maybe we could just put micro transactions. Hell yeah i mean there's always the argument and do i understand where these people come from where they're like. I worked full time where i have kids and i'm gonna get a place so much time so like your argument to just play more or or get better isn't always applicable but then okay you're part of the thing so you just have to understand okay then you just can't get it right and then you just can't say time time and that makes sense but then why does that. You know like there's different people and okay. I it makes sense if they're like yeah top. Five hundred trial gets this exclusive exotic. It's like oh okay yeah. That's a problem okay. Yes see that's something but if it's an emmy cosmetic ause medic skin like there was one season i missed at the very first season i played where still one of my favorite skins i got silver one over and over and over and i can never get get into gold five because it goes like silver gold silver bronze five to one than silver five to one gold five climb up the silver one. I i kept getting my promos to get into gold could never do it. The season ended. I missed out. I was pissed but i understood. I just wasn't good enough then. I can't get it kind of hurts. Every time i see it. Never you can never get again. There's no way you can ever cool man awesome. It's limited. It's that can't be mad either because it's purely cosmetic well. I think that's why over watch. I think people aren't so up in arms when it comes to overwatch doing well because everything that they give have you for reaching those high peaks is all cosmetic and stuff like destiny. It's a little harder because people will be like a rare weapon yeah if they get a rare weapon that by doing that people will like. I don't wanna fuck and do that but over watches like oh a gold weapon. I think that'd be something like it. Destiny needs bro. It's like why why does anyone want to try and grind or trying get better if our regular exclusive shaded superman superman fucking dope right. I want everything in a game or if much as i understand people don't want to their people have lives and stuff jeff but it's like some people like don't and like once be still if destiny had the same thing where we got points that we could spend it on a gold komo bro. I'm never leaving. I'm never leaving chairman. I agree and that's the thing too is like it's dumb. It's goal weapon but you know what every every game and i don't make video games spoiler spoiler. I don't i don't i don't know how hard i don't. I don't think here way overqualified hard. Put in a video game. No like to like make that you. You've done ranked before. We talked about this. Hey we'll just do exactly what you didn't like. Literally you already have to play play list called casual and competitive. Just make one more competitive. Don't just make it. The game type. Put a rank on it. You already do emaar sir bank on it yet. You put a hidden m._r. Ranking and you already peres by skill rating so just give us a skill rating. "They are made for these sports. They are perfect. Spectator sport was always going to be the most popular because if you know how to play the game. It's a very very tell like especially. If you know the game of the nuances what is you can inherently just watch and be like wow especially the the more you know to is the more you can appreciate it which is great. You can kind of compare it to. It's like golf off the the fine line between a pro player and like an amateur is a very fine line but it's just little things like they have that you don't end indulging the chartered knowing downer yeah watch bill swing like what the house that moser all like picking like the difference between the pro and the regular like knowing when to be at the right place at the right time so when people make those at the right place right time plays. It's like oh only when they make it. Look easy yeah. That's when you can do in us here. The east sports guy going own crazy. Just do it again because the 'cause like even even as someone who has played over watch a ton. I find it hard to watch. I find it hard to watch each sports because it is especially game like that. Where any other sport that's not a mobile you mean like well for the most part yeah but especially the f._b._i. Is like over watching stuff. 'cause i mean you and i used to watch halo south east sports and i still think that was a little easier to follow it just because overwatch is so many people apple and they're such big fights usually scattered all the time and so much is happening on screen yeah. I think that's why counterstrike is also so popular is because counterstrike. Counterstrike is a much lower shoot around as a whole thing. Overwatch is hard to watch like i like i don't want to watch. I like i try to watch it but it's just so hard to follow because you could miss so much like multiple cameras. Well you ought to know what is what i do. Watch a lot of and i don't know why karston yes. I watch a lotta hearts that i watched. I watched orleans sports. My friend wanted to know why live team so. I don't know why i love that game so much man. I don't get it encouraging. Me hooked puts so the reason i i've never gotten interest get sucked in but it's like when you're a kid like fucking love. Collecting cards and playing with your friends like this is like the card game for adults. Do you like and you don't even need to let go by cards and mm be scared of looking weird on your hand digitally. It's like right. There and that's what i know like. I have to pay to be good at this and i still do. It has me hooked. It's well. The thing is technically. You don't have to pay to be good. It's just you're going to reach a point where you're not going to be able to win. Yeah exactly that is just the tilting as you could still have the best play making decisions but it just comes to a point where at a certain point your cards are on yeah which was in say the lich king or you know you get stupid. Draws like there's only so much you can do because even when i played the pokemon card game <hes> competitively is the same thing like some games. You just drew better. Some games like there's nothing you can do. Some games you get lucky and then some games are decided purely by how skillful matches but that's about how those games are outweighed by the orange based ones yeah. It's it's kind of like a hey. It's kind of like the same principle in like overwatch and league competitive people make the thing there's like <hes> i forget the exact percentage but there's like there's forty percent games. You're just gonna lose. There's nothing you can do this forty percent of games. They're just gonna win. You could do nothing. Your team's gonna win then. There's that twenty percent the games were your performance can dictate.

"Then. That's a whole other thing that is important to a game because i guess there's also a caveat to that. No no matter how fun it is or no matter how much dr blah blah blah a big part of it to me as always player base. I like knowing that you know if i'm investing in this. It's not just going to die. That's why i don't always hurts to like invest in all these hero shooters that keep coming out and why i'm so hesitant now is because there's never big pool and then on top of that everyone makes the comparisons to x. or y. Which than hurts the game more and then people see the game already has low numbers which then sways even more people than not even try and then. It's just like so for me. It's also player base and you know you're in like a limited pool of people like i look online breakers right now. It's like it's already like a thousand. There's an online i mean you see. It's not like i'm that kind of person who sees those numbers and goes well. I'm not going to try and then i do i do. I can't wait for it either yeah well. No one's playing it then. It's like okay well. I'm not going to want to waste my time into <hes> like investing in that. If you know it's not going to like this community is just going to get smaller and smaller like why do i wanna be in. I want that was when blue you tried at the release like hey come to compla- time fall to m._c._c. now mike p._s. Four hundred ten times numbers. I'll sit over here and then sure enough. If i'd stayed on there for a month more it was already like hundreds or something like that yeah at peak times p._c. Would have like ten and thousand but on average probably like mold now. It probably has like average like what is your favorite. What is uh league. That's a hard question back in the league grandbaby. I'm trying to get the league with you man because this way she put league game play you throw it in challenger game play from mr fruit while the skill gap is just so far along to learn like i learned with you christian like i had to put in two days aside to like learn it while i remember when i first started i mean i went all in and like if i wasn't playing a game i was watching like tutorials as looking builds as looking up guides trying to understand how the whole game worked every small part of the meta game every little micro action every macro action. I mean there's a lot to it and that's also why i like moba so much john tting dude. It's very like scared. It's dont but that's us. That's kind of i liked it. Let's see exactly there's reasons to like. I mean it's not everyone not everyone. Some people want to be able to pick something up and not be like a. She's <unk> like hundred thirty eight characters to learn how you play legal by problem with. He is not that it's bad because it's an awesome game. It's just like because i've already gone through like what you're going through with like you. You went through the whole like grind with league learning the meta gain learning all the ins and outs like learning how to build right very character. It's like i do that on paragon right now and it's like i don't know if i'm ready to learn all that lee because i understand like the economy system and like jungle roles and like what each hero supposed to do but it's like getting the skill to actually do it is like a whole different thing i mean in scope doing it for paragon is probably like at ten if not more whether it'd be for league which is why it is so daunting which is why if you started league and then comparing on would have been super breezy you'd like oh there's only so much now <hes> out of beta seven years..

"Year before and i i was like i got my fix with was so good so it just made me like less than two left. I involved you. I hadn't played a game of the witch whatever this is interesting because i always thought to. Why would he be so dumb to release titanfall to in the window that they did which is like right either right before right after battlefield one which is another title and then right in between call duty right before it was like a week after battlefield one a week after battlefield but a week before call duty yeah so it made no honestly think titanfall to even though i involved to who was put in between like two juggernauts. It's still did much better than like battle born and lawbreakers which was cool. It's still has a pretty good player based on like the console. All side was dead but but i mean i won't do pretty good for what it was and it was another part that did make me. He kind of set was so good and kind of the same way how you thought it was like man like i really liked paddleboard. I like i really like lawbreakers and these are games like we really really really do like because i love titled. Blue pair of god's still getting updated like i know that's eventually that's still in beta relax out at paragon. It hasn't actually hasn't officially even launched yet because they don't even show numbers anyway even tell i don't think they do. I don't know i know at one point. Paragon paragon had like a ridiculous isn't even like thought they had like an ad for it and stuff like that they had advertisement for when open beta launched and they kind of push that a little bit but they've never actually like put marketing into the game okay but before i forget and we're gonna tangent. The thing about the fall to release window is is like i blame d._a. I like you're killing the game from start. Why would you do that well from inside source of the gaming industry which i won't say. I don't know if i should say anything but he hinted that it wasn't e._a. That perhaps the studio wanted to try and be called duty so what he was trying to say was respond. Purposefully released the game where they come on respond to the price hardcore hardcore community of people that go back to but it's like it's it's become hard because you do have overwatch and call of duty. Louis hand battlefield. Did they take they take all the attention of the genre like overwatch made like these class-based arena shooters like it kind of brought brought back that concept team fortress two. You did like ten years ago so now people are trying to bring it back and do it but it's like overall. She's like there's no room for you. Here's summer gamesville gamesville circuits well. There's this stigma that like over watched it like they're. They're just copying this. They're just copying that. There's had this weird stigma waking to be strapped. You better be careful but i'm serious like that's like a really big gamers that they just wanna box fox themselves in like this weird like nothing you like. The thing is operatives everyone else it just hurts exactly and i'm worried read this stuff. Keep performing like this. Then less people are going to want to get into this genre and then slowly the journal is gonna. I love hero shooters because for me. I think i'd mentioned this to rob with a while ago so hero shooters is kind of an iteration on what we know is just a normal f- p._s. 'cause like like blue said t.f. Too was fun. I still think libraries all different because he's still the whole off to tighten referred to so i met equipment i meant team fortress and as well even then it's like hero. Shooters have been around for a really long time just happens it does trigger it does like legit trigger really hard when people are like oh. It's just copied over is like all over. Watch this. I put hero shooters have existed since the nineties you can even show someone like proof that concept like that existed about nope..

Pretend i know what i'm doing and hope it don't get called pulled out but damn i would take that as soon as they do. Go back to you too yeah. I don't know there's my it sounds like a lot of p._b. Content and i'm fine with it too. It just has to it just has to have have replay ability yeah if we can have better ability. It's just at some point. I'm not i'm not i'm. I'm not gonna be as keen this time around replaying the same kinda way did the one i've already done dealing replay ability so i can't imagine they're gonna. They're going to change the formula that much but fifty dollars sounds nice but if all that fifty hours i mean granted. I'm sure a lot of that's the campaign and stuff. It's not all of it but if a lot of that it's still reliable and still enjoyable. You know the ten th time through which i guess is always the challenge. How do you make something. The fresh always be working towards something like there's yeah you like your chesapeake arms in d. One you never really like no. I know you're working towards something. He's gonna get it well. That's why minecraft is slow grind. Rob knows he's going to get to that castle. He's gotta work work hard. I that's why i wish they would go more r._p._g. More grinding but they say the casual yeah. I was gonna say like the cat. The casual percentage compared to like the hardcore percentage now is not it's not even close. That's why they like market. The game towards casual noobs whatever grinding meetings are going to take more time and not everybody has much time and this is like the first time we're playing playing like d. One first came out. I was like super still in school is like i mean the only thing i ever did was homework school and destiny so this is going to say rub. You barely went to school in destiny's anyway well yeah but i mean how did homework past. I'll say that i remember day. One myself released really you don't want to school sees degrees boys and girls i too because my frigging destiny add marion berry my destiny works for the first night i played at the night of and i came back from school why you're like i'm already fourteen and allow house grinding but then i got married and buried like a week and a half so i couldn't play ever you were so far ahead of me because of mayor berry while out there uncommon sexy barry last about a week like four five k. I swear i'm not kidding. I had to like i was going to like my like apartments. Apartments like internet thing in the wall and it was like fire. Adler destiny opened up like certain ports shit like doodoo was so oh dumb i had like these connected problems and it sucked but that got employees who but then it finally like fixed itself. I didn't do anything like they were like all right. It's fixed a all right sweet so i finally play like three days later. It was like four or five days but it felt like forever well. That's when 'cause i can even almost like remember high fell. We didn't know much about destiny going in and immediately all get grind. Get max level see what's at the end blah blah blah in game. Keep going. There's gotta be something to grind for was in yes you hit twenty and it's like <hes> there's more i remember i would watch read it to see like nightfall rewards. "I don't think they've actually gone but that's not important part. It's just imagine it's like d one one to twenty. Were you able to pretty much do the campaign and in like four hours yeah. You're like max level well now. They're saying san across the story. Side missions different stuff scattered around. It'll take fifty to fifty five hours to hit the cap and then but it's not it's not clear. I think what they meant is like at that point. It would have been all new content and then after that you're going to start recycling. I assume like grinding like that's gotta be a grind. It's not like all content all the time also. I don't know if it was confirmed but there's also something a a week that said night falls might be times. You gotta sit up nine four one nine yep hard again. Yes it's like night falls now or the boring like that was awesome like fighting through a hard ass getting dope lewd and now it's like somebody had a good good point. They're probably trying to avoid experts. You know like sitting on top all the cheese and stuff. That's how i finished office. I ever did in destiny like my first hour and a half do fogo. I sold that and it was like shooting cheese where you would sit like in the room but i think you are like two hours a week. One nine which was sex that was horrible never finished it. I think even said require human of leave like eight hours. I tried that nightfall. Never finished it we we these weren't powerful enough. It was awful. Timing does challenge a weekly heroic because we were under level than we tried doing it that to me like two hours so they were like oh but there's nightfall out uh-huh nope. We want with intimidating superintendent which i imagine it will be again. Which is why it's always well yeah but it's always hard to gauge like week one when you don't have everything like wow this is people will be like oh. It's challenging. There's new staff but give it a month and i hope it's not like oh yeah no turns that had just wait till your maximum. He's always going to find the best way to do things. I just hope those best ways are fun. Which is why i'm interested in the what they talked about low dot low that locking lot at lab. I still don't know how that's gonna work. It sounds cool but like how do you not like it. Just stop someone like urban. Come back but i mean you can't replace it would just it would end the checkpoint yelich. Someone in my rate group did that. I was gonna say no one could join. Maybe your session what you start but then what if selling d._c.'s or something <unk> added yeah so you can't do that and you're screwed. This is why we don't make games card answers. We just ask questions that wave questions here can get to the meat and i think that's like one of the redeeming qualities about the game. Is that the load outlook. I think it's interesting but like bluejays said we'll see these. There's work around it how do you though is that going to be like. It'd be interesting if they did that like trials. I can't imagine shambles no way. Do you think trials is going to be like how competitive play was like with that. Ah game type thing. I imagine they'll stick to the same i mean maybe they could make it objective based in trials just so it's not i would hope midst because that would give you. I mean if that's the case trials would be countdown. Just what was the difference. I wouldn't mind that because my issue is. Charles was like especially right now. It's like you leery to sit in the back with your icebreaker and just hope you get to kill what trials should be battle royale..

"That's the thing the dream team is that when you search stream team you find space magic johnson. I'm zayn. Yes what you find you. Don't find us and it's not like i want a name so we can be first on the search it just you know the dream team is so broad and whenever anyone mm-hmm whenever anyone makes like you know a joke whatever say hey this is the dream teen so visit like rhymes yeah. It's just really broad so what i'm asking all of you listeners out there. If you're on the youtube video at least or you can tweet me. Do you have an idea on what we should be called a name change. It can be whatever you want if someone's guilty next episode yeah if something's catch if we have a next if we get if we get enough interest we'll get to i have part two and then we can decide on our new name. We just need something that is generic so that's sweat run dress that and that's why for the time being this also the over easy podcast <hes> just so you know it's more than just us it. I mean obviously it will be talking and whatnot but on the off chance. Someone's gone if we're doing this more often or whatever it's more about gaming than chillan talking with you how you doing. What are you doing right now while you're listening russian and we'll do you guys think they're doing right now. Take some guesses. You know it's funny. I guess like i'm gagging shaken a solid poop. Someone's someone's making a sandwich. Just use the turkey that they just got out of that like where they were cheaper saw take someone's someone's walking around naked in their house right now with their headphones on on their phone because they can because no one's home and they're like you know what uh i'm gonna walk around naked and let's new dream pod. There's somebody with that cliche like new york. City subway shot where everybody's just like sitting down looking down like somebody somebody in that will bus is listening to this so someone is currently and then smiled and looked around nobody it to me and they're actually at the same part in this podcast together. "It depends on your guys as reactions. We'll look down at mccombs because this will be a youtube video but down in the description. I'm going to do my best to either. Get it so you can download the audio off of soundcloud cloud or i tunes or both. I was trying to go on my get. I was looking on itunes. It has this whole like added to approve it and then there's like a period of it could be anywhere from a few days to a week and really yes. I'm not entirely sure how that works. So if i try itunes the lincoln might not be referred to get cleared back dude shipping technology. The united states should be able to handle that they have five fiber up there google fiber at an apple the irony so for those wondering what we're gonna be talking about for the most part gaming and entertainment a little bit <hes> irael jeff because we sometimes go outside but often did not mainly beginning interaction. We have our the poster child for human interaction. We have a few different segments will go through but i just want to say. Thanks everybody for stop. Stop by we can do some short introductions on the off chance that you somehow stumbled upon what what is i can only imagine <hes> is going to be the greatest hod cast known to man joe rogan step aside to like the pledge of allegiance isn't going to be played in the morning. This g g overseas albert played in the morning okay replacing over the over easily. We take a two hours of your school day so that yeah you're welcome. You're welcome so i guess what i wanted so we might as well address this. I the fact that it might be like why is it like the dream team podcast or something. That would make a lot of sense a lot of sense. That's too easy first off. Come on. Let's too easy. We we like to make things harder. You know the same work smarter not harder where the other way round we spend an hour and a half making a name for ourselves self so we really do work harder. You gotta start like way early because we're podcast today. We started right around the same time. Maybe minutes earlier the prep involved we put in probably an extra ten minutes of prep for this recording for is usually mr mike. Hey did put. It didn't do anything like this. That works off couple ideas to me big guy so i guess what will start start with. First is some listener interaction. Ooh here's the thing i've gotten. This question asked a lot. I don't even think i've specifically brought this up with blue rob but especially with with with we always get asked and all this kind of stuff. The question is are we gonna stay. Is the name dream team going to stay for just in general with the thing i just saw and how long it took us to come up with a name now six our lord. I said listener interaction. Let me get there. Okay we saw. Obviously we can't do this. That's why we're we're we're outsourcing. We're getting some people to help us us so if you have an idea because here's the thing k. dream team's cool but again i think i've mentioned this if i had realized that that name would have stuck and and you know been what it is today and and was as broad as it was covered the group. I wouldn't named us the dream team. It was like a a mimi the dream team because we're actually kind of bad so that was the video idea. I never intended that to be the group name in the in the thing he kinda showed it was like quote unquote the inefficient squad yeah the only reason the dream team came in because i said something about like space magic or something space magic johnson yeah. That might have been ah yeah. I started doing like warlock dumps but the nova bombs because because you talked about dream team okay i'm spaceman johnson yeah and then rob can be so what else and it just went on from there..

Setback for Lakers as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George grabbed by another team

"Paul george was playing at i mean he was a legitimate the shoulder right in and he wasn't the same again he played through tremendous injury a ends you know that team fell off host you know after that injury in in in was a fairly easy out in the playoffs and so i think for i think for paul george like what i think he thought he signed up for didn't feel like it was necessarily there anymore in here with this opportunity unity to come home to come to l i listen he already made a decision once he didn't want to play he could have walked right into the lakers with lebron james and the lakers had been his dream team i think why when he was in san antonio that wednesday expectation was that the lakers were the team and then that change for both of them for whatever reasons anes ohi partners up with with co why he gets the trade out of there an end for san presi so i don't think he was happy be having to do this by that that's what i was gonna ask you what do we know of that conversation like when does it start happening july third july fourth in is it is it is sam presi crestfallen is ramona described him is there any tension between paul george and russell westbrook or is it just a matter of paul george going in saying hey look we've we've hit the wall here i i grew up a clippers fan this is a chance for me to achieve my dreams is there anything we can do here well it was a few days ago whether it was what they is it now it's the seven i dunno more diarrhea saturday saturday amended on the sex that's that's so it's sick so so maybe the second maybe the first or the second they went to do that much time they get this done they went there in an a an ask for the trade end then i was told it wasn't really until the last twenty four thirty six hours so trade happened in the middle of the night on friday night my sense was those talks it maybe started twenty four thirty six hours prior

How Director Brad Bird Harnessed the Creative Power of Misfits

"We were growing up. There was only one name animated movies. Disney. For about six decades. They were pretty much the only game in town by the mid nineties. Disney films had started to follow a formula. They would take it old story at a few musical numbers and voila Pocahontas, Hercules Mulan. But then something new happened in animating. Finnity and beyond. Pixar reinvented. How you make an animated movie instead of drawing characters you code them on a computer, which makes them come alive in three D instead of being flattened two-dimensional. I'm sure you remember Pixar's first computer animated movie Toy Story. It was a smash not just because the tech was cool. But also because the story was fresh it was just so vivid and funny and the characters were original, this is Brad bird. He's a writer animator and director they weren't doing the ten songs and all that stuff that was getting very standard in animation at the time picks ours. First three films got multiple Oscar nominations. They grossed over a billion dollars. The studio was a perfectly calibrated hit machine. And that's when they made a strange decision. They hired Brad. He was coming off a big project that tanked told me go back there man, don't make me go back. And it wasn't his first failure. I got fired from Disney, and I was actually fired from two of the first three jobs I held but picks arse up promise in Brad. He came to the studio with a bold vision for a new film, and he didn't recruit the star teams who had created there earlier. Hits. Instead, he deliberately assembled a band of pictures biggest misfits, black sheep disgruntled. I say pirate doesn't exactly sound like a dream team. But somehow the movie they made together gross over six hundred million dollars won two Oscars and was picked ours. Biggest hit yet. It was incredible. Incredible. Incredible. The critics loved it almost as much as my kids did.
