"It's Twitter and I mean, we got to move on. It's not real life. I want to get into draymond to piggyback off stuff because you had an interesting interview with him. But since you brought it up, we're going to go right off the highway here and since you mentioned it, do you have a favorite all time favorite James Corden, carpool karaoke? I go back to the original, I think it was the original with George Michael, just because I don't know where people are on George Michael God rushed his soul, but like, watch that dude sing at Wembley when he did at the Queen tribute, watch him sing somebody to love. That guy could go, man. I mean, and I think that launched it because James Corden can really sing. And the moments, there are all these little moments where you see the person who he's with, realize, I think it was like Adele. You see Adele, look at him like, oh, this guy can sing. I just think that me and you are getting tweets liked. He's singing with Adele and it was looking at him. I'm like, oh my God, this guy can sing. I think that he's that little lane of his was just such a brilliant window into having the balls to sing next to Adele in a car. 'cause you gotta go toe to toe. You gotta think you can do it, you know? You wanna try to hit the high notes and I don't know. There's been, there's been so many of those that were funny. But again, I go back to George Michael and think, I think that was the first one he did, and then that. So that was for anyone who doesn't know the George Michael and he did for, I think it was like a benefit charity thing they did in England. It wasn't part of his CBS Late Show. The first one he did here was with Mariah Carey. Right. But the George Michael thing, that the snowflake at the top of the hill that becomes the avalanche, right? That was the birth of it. That was the inspiration. As I understand it. But we had him on during the pandemic. And I said, I know this is a terrible question that's impossible. But is there one, you know? It was Paul McCartney, like when Abby wrote, I think it was, and it's like, how do you make that make sense if you're him, you know what I mean? You're in a car with the beetle. Right. Driving down that road singing the song. Yeah, it's funny because McCartney just had his 80th birthday over the weekend. And I actually went and rewatched that carpool karaoke and it one point they're singing let it be and James Corden tears up and it makes him think of his father, grandfather. James Corning gets a lot of shit online, like a lot of people do, but that's one I don't understand. You don't have to think he's funny. You don't have to like his show, but it is weird that he gets so much shit. It's just like a nice guy doing a talk show. What are we heating on that for? Well, but whatever. That's just the way the world works. We talked about this and when it comes to social media and how people behave and it's typically not how people actually behave. So I think you just kind of just keep it moving, you know? Right. So back to the NBA warriors, postgames. You had draymond on. One second, we have a very important question. Yeah, go ahead, buddy..

Joey Sulipeck Investigated for Tweet Against Draymond Green

"Let's talk about Joey solo pack. Now, you know Joey, you were a meteorologist, your weather guy here in the Memphis area for a very long time before switching over and doing the right thing and coming to radio. Exactly. Exactly. I knew joy for I've known Joey for over 20 years. We did not work at the same station, but I would see him at conferences. I would see him locally and he's always been professional. He's the kind of guy that will walk up and ask you and know, you know, your family's name, how they're doing. He's the kind of guy that you want in the market. So he's a good guy. Very much so. So he's a big Memphis Grizzlies fan, and of course, there was a lot going on. It was a pretty tense rivalry between the warriors and the grizzlies. And he wrote a tweet. Yes, he did. And this goes all the way back to May 7th, and this was when the grizzlies were in the second round against the Golden State Warriors and draymond green is a troublemaker on the court. He runs his mouth a lot, he'll push, he'll nudge whatever he can to get an advantage. And one of the grizzlies players had just gotten ejected for the first time that they had mouthed off to the official. Joy writes, chew on this, draymond runs his knuckle dragging open mouth all game long, but mild mannered, Kyle Anderson disputes one call and gets ejected. Next level, Jack assery. That's it. So basically, he was saying the guy's a Neanderthal. Yes, okay. All right. Well, well, the local sports guy for the commercial appeal. Got ahold of that tweet and turned it into this big racial controversy that literally went nationwide. Everybody was talking about poor Joey solo pet who in the aftermath apologized. He should not have apologized. He did nothing wrong, and then deleted his account, he should not have done that. He did nothing wrong.

"Well, we knew how top heavy they are throughout the postseason. Those are the guys that carry this team. And I just felt like those were the guys that, whether you want to say they were exhausted, whether they were too into their head, but they made some crucial mistakes and those fourth quarter stretches, you know, goals they wore as capitalize on that. You're not going to survive games where you committing 17, 18 turnovers, and expect to win. I mean, those are 30, 35 points. You just giving to the Golden State Warriors. And that was no recipe for success. They never cleaned it up after the after the first two games. You know, the turtles was always an issue. Yeah, I remember looking, I think it was game 5. In Golden State and Sean brandy, my broadcast of partner and I had talked about it said, well, what the self attempt to do is clean up the turnovers. And the first possession the sub exact. Jason Tatum flies through, going to his left and throws the ball out of bounds. It's like, dude, you just you just went over what you had to do and essentially failed. But here's the thing about it. I think this was a learning block. It was a platform to learn on. And we'll tailor them and brown be back. Yeah. I think there will be. But also look at the Eastern Conference. Will it be better? How will those guys compete? Because right now they have the summits at the top. And one thing we know that when you're at the top, you're going to be the hunted. You are going to be the hunted. So the summit to be the hunter. And Tatum will be probably more than anybody being the situation where people are going to look at him and judge him fairly or unfairly as the dude on this table. I mean, once that I give you and I'm not big about staffs, but Larry Bird in 1981 during his first championship run. He averaged 15 points a game. Charlotte about 40% from the field. But what did he do? His greatness. And this is where Tatum has to get. Never heard the average 15 rebounds a game. 7 assists and had 42 steals in a 6 game series. So ag is what we didn't see the imprint that Tatum had to put into a building like that. Because of this many times, got killed on the glass and you never bigger, stronger team, Looney did a great job of getting out early, draymond got some of the second chance opportunities. That crushed the Celtics, too. How many offensive rebounds are the goals they warriors come up with, you.

"Let me just say this year and I'm gonna be as clear as I can. That's it, wait a minute, hold on. That shit James run, draymond green was doing. During the 80s, he got knocked out. He's a different than her basketball. Our basketball is different. I saw a century Maxwell said. And you know, one thing that baffles me about the 80s or the 90s or whatever you want to call when basketball was so much more physical. And some of the guys that be talking weren't the guys that was punching people. They act like, you know, guys was just walking around the court like, I'm hitting this guy in the know. Respect these years. Yeah. And I'll say this when you look at things you talk about. I'll say this is only been 32 finals MVPs. And damn it, I'm one of them. Talking about me. I can talk to you all I want to mother and that's how that goes. The big girls love that. The last shot opportunity. So far, give me a pass to talk and wipe my mouth. He knows the impact of his words. Is this dream on pulling james harden going you know what whatever conversation we've had the at the olympics when everybody's hanging out. Hey i want out golden state now. Because i want to get someplace else. 'cause you're blowtorch and your gm at your coach something. That was three years ago. I i've not heard tentatively that that was the purpose behind what he said and there remains the possibility that it was simply. I wanna clear my name. And i wanna do something. That's explosive on my first podcast as i prepare myself for my post my post playing career. i do. I will tell you that it did not sit well at all with the warriors and it shouldn't that from either. Yeah from either one of them and it it. It does undermine their authority and moving forward trying to trying to put this team together.

"Men's Olympic basketball is up to eat. Well, um, it didn't start off well over the weekend, they had their first exhibition game against Nigeria in they lost What? 92 87. Team USA goes down, So we got that going for us. Wait a minute. Isn't Kevin Durant on that team? The guy that carry the Brooklyn Nets on his back. Of course. Kevin Durant. Bradley Beal Bam out of bio. Draymond Green Game. Dollar is on their Jayson Tatum. They've got a pretty good lineup. So they lost to Nigeria. Wait a minute. There's some Nigerian players who are actually NBA players. Right there are and there are a few NBA players missing from that team that are still playing in the finals. No Djourou HOLIDAY. No Chris Middleton know Devin Booker. But the Nigerian squad does have three guys from the Miami Heat roster. Also one of the Sacramento Kings, a guy for the Minnesota Timberwolves and one of Donovan Mitchell's teammates with the Utah Jazz. Good for them. Congratulations, Nigeria. I think they taught a valuable lesson to our Guys on USA team that always thinks it's going to just steamroll everybody. I hope so. Because the last time the U. S, the U. S men's national team lost an exhibition game. They finished seventh in the feeble World Cup just a couple of years ago, so Hopefully they right the ship and we don't have one of those performances in the Olympics.

Mr say what phil but he pointed out the hypocrisy of i guess sports in general not just the nba but sports in general where you know player like james harden comes out publicly. Says he wants to trade still plays still plays. doesn't sit And media just he gets media backlash they crucify and i guess the word Draymond uses castrate so he gets crucify castrated criticized. Whatever you wanna say. 'cause he called it comes out you know. He publicly says he wants to. Trade doesn't sit plays and guest crucified. Now another other hand though. Nba team can come out publicly. Say oh we're gonna trade this guy we're gonna sit him. We're not gonna let him play. We're not gonna let him do his job that he gets paid to do whether he wants to do it or not. We're not gonna give him a choice. You know to to work the job or going to trade him and we're just going to treat him like a transaction that's really. It's an apocryphal. It's like a is is very hypocritical. Man like you know. So what i'm guessing is the you know they need to do a better job of keeping trades non-public and you know it's like in if they're not then immediate needs to do a media needs to do a better job of not being in hypocrites themselves because this to hypocrites sensitive situation. It's the media and the owners ownership in the media. That's the apocrypha in. If is i you know. I hate in this world. Excuse me i have been not say. Hey hate speech. What i hate hypocrites. I hate hypocrites or should. I just say i dislike hypocrites. Don't like a hypocrites. I don't associate with hypocrites you know. Don't socio with dishonest people. You.

"And as West Goldberg very news group joins us to talk a little warrior basketball, I got to say West. It sounds Eerily reminiscent to the same conversations The Warriors were playing we're having last year. So what is that 14 15 months ago around this time? When they're in camp and seemingly there were times where I'd listen to them talk and it sounded like they were trying to convince the world that they were still good, but they're also sounded like there are times when they were trying to convince themselves And this advantage that they were supposed to have it. The beginning of the year. There rested when the rest of the league is not now, with covert hitting Wiseman and dream on and the clay injury. It's sort of a feels like like like that's Evaporated. What's your read on it? Yeah, I think that's a good point. Because You know, a month ago, right? They thought, Hey, we've got nine months of rest. Clay Thompson is coming back. Draymond Green is going to be healthy and motivated. Steph Curry is coming back, and he didn't play a whole lot last year. Everything you know they've got James Wiseman, this number two pick all this stuff. You're right. You know, it felt it does sort of feel like going in the last year. Where, you know, Come on, Moony suffered a a Nurlita injury. You know, Alice smile like you to, you know, not a typed. It seems wise man Number two, but who they were excited about. The ankle injury earlier in the year and on down Steph Curry goes down early in the season with a broken hand. And obviously they were without Clay Thompson come grand left, etcetera. There's there's a lot of things now, despite them, maybe being a lot more optimistic. You know, a month two months ago now, with Clay Thompson having the second straight season ending injury, James Wiseman and Draymond Green Mission training camp with after testing positive for the coronavirus. There's a lot of stumbles early on, right and this is not You know, for most of that five year stretch of five straight finals. Where is we're lucky with injuries. They were fortunate, right? They didn't have season starting out with with bumps in the road like they basically have. Before these last two seasons of even started, And so, Yeah, I think they were going into the season with optimism. They were trying to be optimistic. You know you're trying to balance Hey, where the Warriors We've got this culture where winning team. We're winning organization. Everybody wants to play for us. Everybody loves up, etcetera. Versus We're not really this dynastic team anymore. The core is and exactly what it was, as it had been before. And and it's just a little bit tougher to be is optimistic as you may have wanted to bet to be because of the injuries because of these positive tests, and all these things, and And you do get a sense from talking with guys like Steph Curry and Steve current and some of the people. I've been around that, you know, they want to be optimistic. They try to be optimistic. They're also kind of tempering expectations a little bit. West. I'm sure you've got in your inbox Last 90 or ears. First game notes of the year 11. They arrived and in the starting lineup for the projected start of the game against the Denver Nuggets in a preseason game on Saturday, have stuff and Kelly Go break Junior. The backcourt Andrew Wiggins of three In the front line of Eric Pascoe and Kevon Looney Good players, but they're not Draymond Green and James Wiseman. So why has been has been cleared to go back to practice and watch from a balcony and hang out with Zaza? And get pointers on defensive rotations from the great size up, Pachulia. But dream on is not yet allowed, as far as I know, into chase. So where we at with with Wiseman getting clearance to come back is that optimistic people open the year. Against Brooklyn and where we at which Raymond, do you think? It's tough to know, but we're all getting the same sense that you are. James Wiseman obviously tested positive. You know, a few days before Draymond Green did right because there's not a star. Look, I'm not a doctor. I don't know if there's levels of this Corona virus or not, but it seems like James Wise and Tested positive before dream on Green did And so that's why he is further along in this protocol process that dream on is and so Yeah, he's been allowed to at least watch. Practice from a distance, while Jamon Green is thoroughly in his self quarantine, period, and but and so I think another part of this, too. Is that Draymond Green isn't gonna like replace James Widened. Wise move. Draymond green. What stream on green Gonna learn watching practice from a balcony sitting next to Zaza Pachulia? Nothing right. Like there's no drive on. Green doesn't need training camp to learn the schemes and all these things. Raymond Greene, the training camp to knock the rust off Tol you watch remind you want dream out on the floor. He's the middle linebacker in the free safety of the Defense West. You want him on the floor, ripping everybody around him to make sure they're on the right. Spots and remind you got to get ready to play as well. Absolutely. But it serves him no purpose to be on the balcony. You know what I mean? Like No, but nobody is going to be benefited from him being you know, of watching watching practice from a socially distance, you know, point of view, so You want him on the floor? I think that's a really. I think it's a big loss for the team that needs to start the season quickly. I mean, if you look at their 1st 14 games 10 of the 1st 14 games are against teams that made the playoffs last year. And then one of those other teams of Phoenix who didn't make the playoffs last year, but it's probably going to now they've got Chris Paul. They're gonna be competitive Team so 11 out of 14 teams. The 1st 14 teams they play are our playoff caliber teams. The NBA did not give the Warriors a break coming out of the gate. Despite them, you know, maybe being rusty and not having to key contributors and Wiseman and green and training camp getting able for in dream on Green's case. Getting a chance to knock off Russian Wiseman's case, getting a chance to play basketball like a real bat like a competitive Axl for the first time in November of last year. Like that's detrimental to his development. And so you know, and it said a condensed 72 game season where every game that is that much more. It's the Warriors aren't getting any any help. You know to start this season, especially when you consider like I said the strength of schedule early in the year and given that the first game is against Brooklyn second game is against Milwaukee to title contenders in the Eastern Conference. It's going to be really tough for them at the Gate West. I'm fascinated by Andrew Wiggins. And I know you have Ah, recent story about him. Everybody should should check out. I think he's He's kind of under discussed. Everyone's thinking about a month ago, the return of Steph Clay and dream on and now clay goes out, and Wiggins is still sitting there as this guy, the fan base has not had a chance to connect with yet. But he eventually end up being a trade piece. Or could he step into expectations that a little bit higher level like I really think in many ways, he kind of holds the key for whether this team Is still a playoff team, or are they gonna end up having a disappointing year? What did you learn? And in that conversation, and what is the role that you think he plays this year? I think that's one of the big questions that the words of trying to figure out right There. It's telling that Andrew Wiggins spent his off season this prolonged offseason, um in Southern California, working on his ball handling and honest three point shooting. I think you're gonna see Andrew Wiggins played two different roles this year in the starting lineup. That's where the three point shooting comes in that he was working on. He needs to make open shots if he can't space the floor and then tell you, Bray if they can't space, the floor. The Warriors. Half court offense is gonna be really tough to watch. It's gonna be a grind, right? Eh? So he needs to be able to space the floor and shoot like 35, plus percent from three point range, but then that But when stuff is off the floor drain Montez off before Where does the second unit offense come from? And I think that's where Andrew Wiggins is. Ball handling comes in the bowling when I was working on all the sudden well, you saw him do with Minnesota, which wasn't a great fit for him Running pick and roll. After picking all he told me in that conversation. You know, in Minnesota Man, I was running to pick and rolls three pick and rolls a game. You know, the first one won't work. The second one wouldn't work. I had to run a third one and then buy them..

"I want to get Jerry Jones here to take. I saw something before Lisa. If I could score with the scroll through real quick and find it again. If not, I'll just move on. Today is the anniversary. Obviously a while ago. This point of Dennis Rodman. Of a game that he had. And I was. I saw it earlier, and I just wonder like, how would this be received today in the year 2020 Given the way the NBA is gone, I can't find that so Hopefully I'll remember, but I know he was over five from the field. All right. I want to say he had 28 rebounds. Maybe Wow. 28 rebounds. But imagine a guy like in the year 2020. Like, how would we react to that? No. Three point shots made. You know, you don't know no buckets over five complete zero on offense, but basically 30 rebounds, like how would we process that? You know what I mean? Well, I think it's you still have to respect it. Especially because he was with the Spurs in Yeah, yes, Spurs? Yes. Oh, because of what he was brought to that team to be mean. He was He was Draymond green before Draymond green. Now they're on Dreamin has a different office of skill set. Obviously thing, Dennis Robin, but Like the M O that Spurs squad pre Denis Robin was they're good, but they're really soft, You know, I mean, and you know David Robinson, uh, playing the piano. And you know what I mean and Tim Duncan being you know this quiet, cerebral bank shot artist they needed They needed an ass. Then they did They bring in Dennis Rodman. And he just changed it completely. Uh, so, but I think so. If he his role was he did exactly what they wanted him to do exactly, So I think it would be still were received well. If it was a player of that kind of caliber, if it was just like a random, you know, 2030 rebound night from a guy who was not his influential night tonight is Rodman was then I don't know yet True, but score point, But Robin Robin skill set was a man. But let me ask you that I don't even know if you can really demolition. You'll always take that defensive tenacity. But I don't even know if he would be able to have the role that he had then number one. The physicality would be curtailed. Number one. But number two now he couldn't play. Now you think about the speaker and play the minutes about the spacing and, in essence is four on five agreed such a different game. No anyway, just one thrown by it, but he was amazing. Well, there's no doubt and rightfully Hall of Famer for sure. Let's get to Jerry Jones. So Jerry was dishing Jerry Jones. A Z often does with her body shot and RJ, What'll 53 the fan and Dallas and listen to the connection that he makes too. The plight of his quarterback room to that of the Denver Broncos. Here's Gerry. You take risks and you take risk when you Make up your quarterback, mobile and risk getting him hit risk his availability. So you take risks. You take risks when you put all the quarterbacks in the same room. If you worry about those things, you can spread them out a little bit. You're not even how you even save one. I don't know that that Denver had any more of a challenge, and we've had with the new chief are with up the young quarterbacks that we've had. But boy, are we have been schooled in the NFL. These teams have been schooled that you had really better. Pay attention to your protocols. You better manage. Don't just give it lip service rolled eyes back and say that happens to them. It doesn't happen to may and I don't mean to be tried about it. But that happens, that's football and you better be ready to have somebody else. Come in there. What do you think of that? T e? I mean it zis. He's speaking truth about it, And he's not really comparing himself to the different Bronco's not a little bit of an excuse. I mean, it's the reality. Um, you know, because it's it's position is always comparing himself to the Broncos. He's not pretty. Comparing himself of the Broncos. You saying the Broncos were Irresponsible and it cost him. Um the Cowboys had bad luck and it's costing them because that Prescott is hurt. Now they weren't winning with back at all. But at the end of the day you you had to have contingencies in place for season like this and It's just It's not the standard, you know, Motus operandi of teams so they don't know how to do it. And so it Zen. When it comes to bear, there's they're screwed. And that's what happened with Denver. It's gonna happen with the Cowboys. It's happened with some other teams with injuries or Cove it and they sent cost him games. The one team that's mitigated it. Is the New Orleans Saints because of how unique Taysom Hill is to this offense and how I think innovative. Sean Payton is with his his his play designs and Anna's his schemes and His team is so adjustable the Saints most teams aren't like that. There are their unique in that regard. I mean, listen, I mean, whether it's the new chief, whether it's Gilbert whether it's Dalton. Obviously, Dad is quite different. But the really good organizations find away now long term eventually gonna get bit. I mean, if you have to play 11 weeks and playoff games like The Texans have on occasions with backups. It's stuck in and well, we know that, but you know if you're great franchise, you know what? Holmes hurts his leg. All right. Well, we could we could. We're okay. What is back up for a little bit? All right. You know what? Before Taysom Hill was getting the football right. Listen, Drew Brees is hurt A teddy, take the football. What? Teddy bridges. Five, you know? You know, I don't want to hear it because there's so many problems with the Dallas Cowboys. I don't care who's playing quarterback for them, because that to me is the excuse like it's not about the Nucci..

"I loved it there and you listen, you can take the Dukan coaching in the N B a for his longing for his many years. They have any still references. The organization is the program as opposed to the organizing A love that is a good coach. Move is good. That's good college program. The program and you got it from a K that he likes this young court. He said it multiple times that they didn't get enough. They didn't get enough out of this young core. And I think that that's the case that the only question mark I have is what they think of Zach Levine, but that this is a This is a GM and a coach that are going to work in concert with each other in drafting players in acquiring players, and that's something we haven't seen in a while. We have seen a front office with Gar and packs in of going out on their own, doing their own thing. And then just saying Here you go. Enjoy. We can always go back to how Tom Thibodeau wanted. Why can't I think of his name right now? You just leave me alone. Leave me out yet. You're just gonna leave me Just gonna leave me hanging there, aren't you? I don't I don't know what you're thinking. Draymond Green. How Tom Thibodeau wanted Draymond Green and on. I don't know why I couldn't take a dream on green just now, and it's not. It's not Don't it's not edible Switch. So when Tom could be wanted Draymond green, and it's not not yet. It's too early, but I'm on the air. Come on. I'm a professional. Yes, yes, little Cat. Yes, improbably, is the amount because Affective memory, but not currently. Okay during hungry and get on with the way we got your name on what you got Problem here. You'd even you didn't even let me take another shot at the Pac 12 before you moved onto bulls, but that's neither here nor there. There. So when Tom Thibodeau wanted Draymond Green and with the front office didn't didn't draft him and how great he would have been For the Bulls, and you know it's selling draft picks and some that's something that you shouldn't be doing when you're doing a rebuilt. These are mistakes that front off the front Bulls front office has made before. And now hopefully with a K and with Billy Donovan. They're gonna work together to get talent and I love everything about this higher so far everything that they said in the press conference to news great Let's go to Salim in Elgin, you're on ESPN 1000 Leave a fellow Thanks for taking my call. Donovan today. I love it. I love the hiring of proud, pleasantly surprising. And something that you know makes you realize that man really on the new era where this is top of higher that the Bulls previously would never have done, especially when you see how much will it cost to get in with six million a year contract that That's not on brand for the Bulls. Couple of the nose out for the present today. I don't know if you guys noticed, but very Donald previously mentioned that when he left, Okay, see the bulls worn on his radar. Like in his mindset. He wasn't thinking about the Bulls. And he got a call from a K and a sold him on coming to the ball. He sold them on his vision and granted. Billy Donovan isn't a player, but I feel like that bodes well and free agency going forward that a K is able to sell him and the Bulls. Two people that are coverted three agents in a sense because Billy down and it could have gone anywhere he wanted to this offseason, but he talked to a K and he You know? Fall in love with the vision that a case older mind and said, Yeah, let's let's do this. Let's outcome to the bold, absolutely Salim appreciate the phone call and I picked up on that, too. Is that It was a K being proactive and telling Billy Donovan why he would fit with what they want to do with this organization. I thought it was very impressive, and I agree, you know, Billy Donovan said after the night that they figured out he wasn't going to return the Oklahoma City. That he drove home the next day, 17 hours and I was like, Well, let's meet tomorrow like I I want. I want to meet with you right now. Let's get this done is like, Can I have the weekend s o? I thought that that was very impressive Dollar, do you? What do you want to talk some gambling and look forward to. Ah, Week three in the NFL. Always always all right coming up. Next. We will.

"Till. He read the three ball brothers at one four kitty UCLA never played college basketball. The other one Spanish junior year playing over of high school playing overseas. Him. What is his name? Oh, the steel though. Steal stevie. Oh, is he Angela member? He stole in China. Yeah. Oh rest. That's that'd be busted out, Angelo, it the UCLA kid. Achy you're familiar with brothers. That is liangelo liangelo, lonzo's youngest. But I tell you watching lavar this morning. I think he knows. It's about up when he's in New Orleans, something that he's talking about the Lakers talking about crashing down Anthony Davis. Yeah. They got Anthony Davis sickness I six years old. He's the prime is career the old things come into crashing down. What? No his personality no hills. Big baller trio of, of sons and get out. Here's a quote, I guarantee you'll be the worst mood the Lakers ever did in their life, and they will never win. Another championship NBA. I guarantee you, they're not on AM five seventy in LA right now. Let's talk about the crash of the Lakers, man. They're talking about Lakers as a title contender. Now, everybody's just put Golden State out to pasture, by the way. It's just like oh, yeah, they're on. Pause. Larry. Well still. Okay. Let's, let's talk about them for second. Katie's out for the year with the achilles. Right. And who knows if he's coming back Thompsons out, nine to ten months with the ACO DaMarcus looney bogut and, and Gerard co all your bigs for the boat for the most part are all free agency. You got to decide what you're gonna do. Livingston could retire Jordan, Belen Quin, cooker restricted so they have the mid level to throw it. Somebody, I don't know if it's going to be Trevor REEs or JJ Rediker, Steph curry, or whom, they're who they're gonna go after. But you still have Steph curry, and Draymond green, don't you think that's a place. Some people think, okay? Let me ask you this. What is the what's realistic over under next year? State. We don't know who's going to be on the team. They're going to get probably, maybe three or four picks or rookies guys after the draft, who do you think I mean gimme gimme a over under and realistic? Yeah. And once again, I don't think you lose that championship thing, you've had for five years overnight. I would say fifty and thirty two wouldn't be bad. You know, see think they're fifty win team. Okay. Does occur obviously because it curry and Draymond. And, and what I was more worried about. You're gonna go way lower than that. You're going to go, like thirty five or forty oh, that's under five hundred. I know that's. Feel like they're going to get hammered this year is there. They don't have they just lost forty percent of their offense in the finals for next year. And they're over the cap, so they have. No. And they're offering max deals to both those guys who can't play this year. So on one hand, you don't think of when nobody's looking on Durant, if there's any, I mean, clay, you keep from the original fabric of the team every indication he wants to be a warrior, but fathers already come out and said he's gonna exactly but I'm just saying if I'm lake of, and I'm driving driving around Pebble Beach, and I know you know, there's, there's kind of that question question. Mark all year, just Durant wanna be somewhere else to Saran. Wanna do this Durant? What he that he's not one hundred percent tied with the Lakers and you've got a billion dollars in in luxury tax staring in the face. Wouldn't there be a feeling today? I know Durant's great. But if he doesn't want to be here and won't kill me if. You want if he goes somewhere else. Give him truth. Serum saying. Deals he'd never you can't admitted publicly his ease already. They've already come out. Hey, we want to we want these guys back. We wanted to him back might be competitive this year. You're not going to I shouldn't say that you're not going to be a title contender most likely in. And there's, there's people floating all kinds of stuff, I've heard people suggest that they need to trade, Draymond green. I would not do that. I would not do that to get as good as Draymond green players for one, but not as good a player his will in what he does in so many facets of the game on both ends of the floor. I think it's, it's, it's too bad that took until March for him to really get in shape. But now that he's in shape. And he's got the fitness thing, down to me that was the my only concern about giving him the max, you know, giving him big money long term is what's his body gonna look like. But now that he's leaned out. And if he's committed to it, there's no stopping him in his will and his offense defense is, you know, commodities, he's a he's a max player. Yeah. My deal is on the Durant. I wanna be clear if Duran came comes in a week and says, hey, this is where I wanna finish the rest of my career. You guys were great to me. I'll sign five years or over that works out fine. But if somehow he just comes back and said, well, I'm really not sure about or indicates he only wants his short term deal, man. I'm going to rehab you for thirty or how much you get. Your mindset is totally change all because of the injury. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You know what I'm saying is because last week, the team was willing to sign him at all costs and give basically trade him at any point, just according to Frank is all a report. Yeah. At the warriors were so desperate to have to say, hey, you know what anything you want, you want to be traded at any point in the steel wool trade. You, you know, that was the ISO on talking, as you know, Myers, and the team, of course. They're in the gym. They there's seeing them every day. They know what he's really about everybody seems to say a great teammate and we love him. I'm just talking about if I'm lake and, you know, whether you want to hear this, or not, if you're Durant, you aren't employees and think this guy one hundred percent is in other words, signing a long term deal. Great. I'll rehab you for a year because I'm gonna get another four years out here. But if he goes for that. Here's the thing, though. I will get it the other way if you right now, if drank, and rich in rich climb want the, you know, the two hundred twenty million dollar long-term deal. You don't know what player you're getting back. I would imagine, he's going to be diminished is five percent. Diminished is he eight percent two minutes? Does he ten percent diminished? You know is is he how close to pre injury drain? Is he going to be I think, he's so great that I guess my thing is if he's all in and comes to me and say, I want, I want to retire a warrior that, that would change my thinking as opposed to take a short term deal in one, one of the years, we'll be your rehabbing me, you know, that, that I that I would if I'm thinking to myself signed somewhere else, get him out of here. And let's go if he doesn't want to be here long-term now. I have no idea what Durant's gonna do. I'm just saying that, that would be my thinking I hear you, but, I mean, there's no upside to that play. Because if you don't have them, you still don't you're still over the cap near you. Still don't have the ability to do anything, you know what I mean? So, you know, you can either have them a year from now, the deferred gratification or not have him in not have any money to replace him. Are we got a guy who maybe hit something that we've failed to mention go ahead, ram and south city? A urine Cambier gentlemen. Thank you for taking my call points today. Larry's, right. Obviously, we don't sign your head. You don't any kept safe anyway. But what I think, in addition to that, if you do signed in Thomson, you do get the table player exception to societas with both of those players, so you get them and you get next year obviously, maybe later this year, but your basic to mid levels in addition to that, for those players so rent Ramseys. Let me stay what I'm talking about the lake of may say, go ahead. Go somewhere else. A lot of that is predicated on the fact that if indeed that story is true, that puts him about a billion dollars over the cap, you know. And I know that, oh, whatever it's, it's only money and all that. But a short term deal with the guy who's going to cost me that much. I, I don't know if I love him that much. I hear what you're saying the chase center to make that money back if he don't sign them maybe probably make money. If you don't win tickets etcetera with the luxury tax. It would be. I think it's about half a billion with the numbers. I heard a billion approaching morning approaching could be could be. But I think he is he's already with Thomson saying, you know, we have unfinished business. You know, he's not gonna leave seventy million on the table. You're gonna take a four year one sixty with the Knicks or to twenty one five year with the warriors. I mean who's gonna walk away from sixty million dollars. So I think he's gonna sign but the point I wanted to make too is we do get players back for him because we're gonna get the disabled player exception that you're going to be able to get into the one mid-level exception. You can, you know, you have two more one Thompson, and one for Durant. I would be available maybe K Rettig unrestricted free agents. But I don't know that the ready with the Lakers Leno reading Gary's thinking, Lakers leg. Here's the Lakers. They don't need another outside shoot curry taste of that. Scary. Forty percent of their offense in the finals. But I don't think JJ again, I JJ rhetoric is a nice fourth guy, but I don't think he's Golden State's, they're gonna need offense. As far as well. Dang hail.

"Sitting to writer then you love you guide. Listen all the time, it's great. Thank y'all are wonderful later than you with Bill later on up. Welcome back into the show. Thank you for being here. Bill Rutter with you on the program, along with the guys Kovacs, Tom Benedetto. So. And a little bit of a run for the warriors that eight oh, lead has been cut to seventeen twelve point lead versus a five point lead, obviously, not that's difficult. But agent, nothing versus seventy to twelve it just feels different. Right now so far Toronto, five of seven from three the warriors over two. Very physical game. And again, or is going to play better defense than they just do. They got close out the point line. They've got to play with an urgency on every single possession on defense. Draymond green is amazing. Did he might get a technical in the next thirty seconds? It'd be suspended for game seven and team the game. But when he's not doing that. He's amazing. A guy who's a little more complicated and Draymond complicated. But teenage love plans, Draymond green. Curry Irving a little different. Right. Couldn't play with LeBron. Quit on that quit on the brunt couldn't play with the Boston quit on Boston. You're really think that you're going to be the one that changes them him. Boston celtics. Reminds me of. In the dating world when you have a very attractive, highly desirable woman, or man, and they're clearly a crazy person, right? Just a psycho just. "Well, we all remember what happened in game one with PASCAL Yaacob. You're all celebrating him fourteen for seventeen from the field game to now. Exactly the same. He was five for eighteen. He wasn't nearly as effective as he wasn't game one. What did the warriors do differently in? How can he make an adjustment heading into game three? They didn't over help overreact the greatness of Coa letter the way he was dominant in the Easter, compass playoffs. The worst came into the series like not only are we going to double team his actions, but we're going to sit at third man to almost play like a middle linebacker. So too, if he beats to double team, they're going to be there and is that gave driver lays the PASCAL Jakko ticket layoffs. And don't also the raptors did a better job since they shot fifty percent of getting out in transition and in the open floor, as Draymond green alluded to they were really fast. The coaching staff told him. Get ready. And they weren't ready. And lastly, Draymond green shut his water off. He was over six regarded by Draymond green. This is why through the Western Conference finals, and the first two games, the ABA finals, if I had to pick an MVP of the Golden State Warriors that man represents Saginaw th pride. Draymond green, well, there's so much discussion Haney heading into game three about Klay Thompson. We'll Klay Thompson play will he be available? It's almost like we forgot about a gentleman by the name of Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant says he feels good. There's been discussion about whether or not he's gonna come back. It was reported that he would come back and either three or four Jalen. Do you think Kevin Durant will play in game three on Wednesday night in the bay? I do not believe katie's going to play. Ooh, I do believe Claes going to play. I would not play mister Thompson. However, what I would do is see if Draymond curry, boogie. Kim drive me on my whole floor to a game three victory..

"Holiday weekend with a Gordon Deal with Jennifer Kushinka coming up this half hour. What money is measuring for us. Also housing in San Francisco is so expensive. Some people live on boats, and the veteran who finally got his college degree decades after leaving school for World War. Two will have that story in about twenty minutes. Well, the question in the NBA playoffs right now, doesn't seem to be who will win the NBA championship. The question seems to be, how good are these Golden State Warriors analysis from Mitch Albom. Co host of the sports reporters podcast From Compass media networks. Mitch warriors seem hungry. Like they're pursuing their first title, not their third in a row. It's not same group that one last year. We don't have Kevin Durant out there. And I think the warriors have been fascinating. Exercise in duality in terms of like identities for their team. They're one team with Kevin Durant, where they can rely on thirty five to forty points on any given night from him just by dumping a ball in. And there are totally different team without him which they rely on that sort of Harlem Globetrotters, we've to get guys open for jot. And of course, it led by Steph curry, and Klay Thompson. That's the way they played four forty got there. So the media that you can have sort of two completely different identities on the single team. But what you're calling other urgency or whatever I think, is just reverting back to the way, they played four Kevin Durant. Which by the way, they want to champion with not to heap greatness on them. But is that a sign of how good they are that they can make really what was a mid playoff adjustment to lose an all star and keep rolling or and not a fair comparison? Because they've got what six current or former all stars on that roster. You're actually saying the same thing in either direction. Yeah, it's not to the depth of talent on that team that you can lose a player that Kevin Durant. And they can slide into a you know, a team it still looks like they got more superstars than you can ever dream of having that. They do. I mean, you know, Steph curry Klay Thompson, Draymond green, especially now and I think Draymond green even more than Steph curry has been able to expand his game with Kevin Durant out because the things that you ask Draymond green do rebound toughness. Keep ball, the live second shots necessary. As with Kevin Durant. You dumped the ball to Kevin already backs any turned around hits. It impossible shot over a guy with the Draymond green really supposed to be doing so you can sort of fall out of your rhythm. But in, in the high paced move the ball around look for three point shots, that they do without Kevin Durant there. He's much more integral part. So the count him as the superstars the word certainly star. So they already are deeper without Kevin. Durant them. Most teams I think they're also Gordon very well coached and to be able to shift that kind of style play show about coach who knows what he's doing impressive for speak with Mitch Albom co hosts of the sports reporters podcast From Compass media, your reference, Draymond green is this Draymond green two point. Oh, like who is this guy right now? Green because I played playing college here in Michigan state, and that's exactly how he used to play with energy with fire with muscle with surprising Jila d for a guy who says big and thick as he is do the bucks or raptors have a shot at the warriors. I don't think so. No, I think what you're seeing both of these teams is the growing pains of, of being at this level. You know, from both of them, this is this is new, at least this point nation of them. And I think whoever comes out of this battle, and I'd like to be a battle because I think both of them will benefit from being tested in a seven game series for next year. Whoever wins will advance, obviously get some experience in the in the finals, and whoever doesn't will know what it's like to almost get there. And we'll come back that much hungrier against the warriors. I think they'll be a lot of that. Wow. We're in the final. Hey, we're in the folks that and that whole thing warriors taking four days from yourself. You know, I mean they just did it to just did it to a very good Portland team. And I think you heard from the Portland players. There was a lot of that. Well, you know, we've never been this level expected to get to this. I think you're gonna hear that same kind of stuff from whoever gets there from these phone Mitch Mitch Albom co host of the sports reporters podcast From Compass media networks. Twenty one minutes now in front of the hour on this weekend. It may not be stomach issues for me. It's intense gas or pain, or diarrhea sometimes all at once over and over I spent years with the symptoms, but could never figure it out. No matter what I did they never went away. So I decided to break it down for my doctor and get really specific about my symptoms. We discovered that execution pancreatic insufficiency or API may be the reason for my stomach issues EP.

Don't know could have been a patriots fan. There are some people in New York that are patriots fans if it happens from time to time not very often. But it does happen. I wanted to ask you this JD because Draymond green. Speaking about officiating. Now, if you asked me the last person that has any credibility when it comes to officials is Draymond green. But I feel like he is sucking up to the officials. He said everyone was aware of all the talk about officiating in about the fall 'cause he's referring to game one. He said come on and play the game. And I think both teams did a great job of that. He also went on to say, I think it was a great officiate again. Keep in mind. Draymond green. Got a technical foul in game. Two Draymond green. And DeMarcus cousins have led the league year in and year out four technical fouls. Draymond green has never committed a foul in his career. We had Tom Izzo on the show at the college basketball. She said that verbatim. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Draymond green. When it comes to officials and the way he treats officials he is the worst perhaps the worst ever in the league. I don't wanna hear Draymond green ever talking about the officiating in the NBA because he has zero credibility and even though the officiating in game one at the end was bad. Get you also have to put fault in Chris Paul. He has to control himself in that situation. And he, you know, and again, I know the officiating was bad at the end of game one. But do we have anybody on the line? I know the number to call to five seven five three nine six, but I really got into it with Danny Tarquini, and that was a very fun. Segment. Let's go to Mike. I believe has been waiting very very patiently on hold Mike. Are you there? I'm sorry. The the tick on K, Don, he comes on just before your I'm sorry. You sound like him. I don't know. Great grapes. "We want a guys thinking positively going into a situation where you know, if we lose we're going home. All right. And it was a building that was tough for us to play. Unfortunately for them. Draymond green got suspended. Okay. I think people point to that too much though, what as what dream on getting suspended. It's like, oh, they won because Draymond got suspended. Not Draymond does get suspended in the Cavs. Never win feel like well, we can say about any game like a ball bounce this way. Or that way. I mean, the also salted the brunt. Jay, that's crazy part about this. And this is what I tell people because I I hear that a lot too. And I'm like come on stop it. He played game six and seven. Yeah. Seven much of threes hail. Yeah. And now was an hour's another thing. Coach Lou did at halftime that game. He got on LeBron James because he wasn't playing well enough in Draymond green. Was you know, playing really really well. And and he told me he had to step up and shit. Second half, he stepped up and man that was the best Father's Day of my life bet. I bet man. I mean, we we popping champagne, and you know, I'm a big cigar guy. We have cigars, and it and it was just van. It was awesome. So okay. I want to talk about cigars. Yes. Not a cigar guy. No. Because I I I used to smoke cigarettes a long time ago. So I'm a natural inhaler. Okay. So I have trouble with that. Also, they're stinky they last too long. "Woke God. I got nothing. Let's kitchen. So what is? I got on a single man I've been doing this for. Oh my God. Steve Kerr wasn't feeling. The love last night. What I did there. He was Jack during a miserable fourth quarter for the warriors. The trailblazers crush Golden State won twenty nine one zero seven to end the warriors eleven game win streak and remarkably guys the warriors were up by one going into the fourth quarter. This thing fell apart this couple of stories here. Yeah. They were. They were the warriors. They trailed one ten one two three at the time that Draymond green got Jack. Did they got out score like one hundred and nothing after that? I just got by the second unit is well that they lost to. But the bigger story is listen, Golden State loss. Okay. Draymond green gets the gets the technical. And Steve Kerr, you always want to go through your coaches minds. Like, am I doing this for show? Do I not want to be out there anymore? My doing this. I got the back of my teammates lost his flip in mind. The video of it is fantastic. And throwing a clipboard all over the place. He gets tossed after the game Utah players talk about how much they love it. Kind of that bonding. Thing for a team that sometimes during the season has to look for something to bond about easiest group to hate in sports is the rats. It's always easy to galvanize a team around those guys are wrong. And so you'll you upgrade our guy to a flagrant run. I'll show you textbook clipboard toss by Steve Kerr. You can tell he's been doing this for a long time saving this one up. Putting in the man hours texts textbook husband moved by Steve Kerr afterwards when he was asked about it because his memory on exactly went down a little bit fuzzy.

"This is the thing that everybody had to do. But this whole idea is the smart thing for the pelicans to do it in. This is the smart thing. Then trading hill was the smart thing. You can't this is real cake and eat it too sort of situation where we weren't aware to more people could go through full, then we're not gonna play. Nah, you should've sent them out otherwise play him. But let's be clear about why this is a problem. This is a problem for the league as a business, and I understand why the league really cares about this. Because the league cannot have superstars just sitting out not for rest, but for injury aversion because they want to convince season ticket holders. And or any fans that give a bleep about the pelicans of which there are very few that this is a real sport. Right. That's the reason. But if you're Dell depths what they're trying to do. Now. Bo is say, okay, they're not going to be playing him on back to backs and there's three. Something minutes. He's getting they're going to play him under that to try and be a little bit safe. That's going to be dangerous if they try that because these other guys the team they still exist in the to win some games from time to time last name is Draymond green. Draymond joined the pull of podcast CJ McCollum and George Shultz. It was asked about Jeff center Rudy Gobert crying when you found out? He didn't make the all star game which looked like this. Injury replacement God or something like that. The same. And here is what drapes. Really, here's one Draymond had to say about Rudy tears about. Let's see what ray-ban set cry in a press conference about. Now all star could be a wave. It's you can lose into edge or someone especially a guy like him who's a defensive intimidator has over people Pika possibly lose that with that interview. And that's kind of my issue with their. What did you think of months theory? No, not really, I see the idea the notion that you see this phone or ability in this guy. And now people are going to try him. Go try to know who to go there feel free. Let me know how that works out for you. Like is it do does? Welcome in scared. Everybody wants he's in the building. He's a dude that you do scares you. What's he's in the lane? So this is like a Charles Oakley type of intimidator then. Yeah. Maybe I'd say seeing him cry is like, okay, see, Android, Google bleed. That's not what Rudy go bear is. So no, I don't think he's correct. I think there is great humor in the idea that Draymond green is preaching emotional discipline. That seems unlikely that seems like Jarrell teaching a class on business ethics to me. But I do understand why he's saying this because this is a league full of players who tend to have some sociopathic tendencies when they sniff weakness when they sniff Boehner ability they will prey on it like the NBA pro sports is not a safe space. I would like there to be more safe spaces. I would like us to not suppress our motions and having curdled inside of us and bubble up. But if you playing this game in this job surrounded by people who smell that on you. And they become more confident and emboldened. I think there's a real fear on that. And then it goes away when you block shots now if somebody had gone in and don't don't Rudy go bear in their Rudy, go bare started crying. Now, we have an argument. But this is like saying I saw dude cried as father's funeral. And now, I know he cries there. I'm going to bring them the noise. No, these are kind of separate worlds that we're talking about here. The anybody that thinks that never to go bears going be soft in the lane because he cried about making the all star team, which I'm not here for go. Try to Dunkel, but I will admit that. Sometimes I cry cry you many times I've cried on planes, dude. I've cried during coach Carter on an airplane. "Zip code. You. Don't want once backed up on you. Okay. Colorado. But that was not just about the threes. Last night was not just about curry. And it was not just about Golden State bearing Denver from deep. It was also about clay Alexander Thomson. And it was not about his threes. It was about his filthy filthy dunks. Now, as you know, clay is as shooter he is not a dunker. And as you probably know everybody lets him know about that. Except last night. He put the entire league on notice you put the entire world on notice you knew there was something different about Golden State last night. When this happened in the first quarter three throw play around Yokich. All right, hand hammer. Throw it down big man that wasn't a hammer. That was the entire hardware store. Heo Draymond green reacts like. Sees that any reacts like that. It's got another ring. That's how rare a Klay Thompson dunk is the first of the night was only eight of the season. He's had games with more threes, then he has total dunks the entire year a few days back. He scored forty three on a total of four dribbles. In other words, he does not mess around with dunks. The ball goes into his hands and into the whole from long range except last night last night. My guy turned into Dominique Wilkins man through down not one not two not three but four dunks in a single night. Roll the montage free-throw.

"And and shut ten threes game. Like everybody else. It says on the screener, professor, STAN Van Gundy. So we're speaking to professor, STAN Van Gundy. Yes. Yes. NBA analysts. So I was talking with Greg, and Greg Cody here, you might not have heard his voice yet. But he's here. Hi, greg. How are you? I'm good. Thanks. I was I knew your it's too late. You too late. Talking with Gregg about Draymond green. And how whether because of the type of player he is. He's one of those sort of irrational confidence guys whether his his confidence being delicate perhaps is he possibly broken out. When you consider the argument with K D, the whole weight on the idea of him driving, Katie out defenses are leaving him. Absolutely alone shooting. Numbers are terrible. And he doesn't seem to be playing with that same confidence that he had in the past. Because why would you is there something wrong with him can that can his sort of strength. His powers be zapped. Somehow, by the way defenses are playing it. Well, look, I think almost all NBA players go through times of losing confidence and everything else. But generally guys will come back to who. They are. I think we'll see the Draymond green that we've seen in his first few years in the league. Again, this season his games based on defense and passing the ball and facilitating for others. That's what they expect that of him. Anything eat does shooting. The ball is a bonus people have been leaving him alone for a long time. They'll make a few but that's not his game. And if it's a choice between Durant career Thompson shooting or Draymond green shooting. You'll live with him shooting..
