Texas Democrats Leave State House in Dramatic Fashion Over New Voting Bill

"There's a new Texas law. Coward jump, Democrats decided to walk out in the Texas Texas statehouse. Laws basically about cleaning up elections. Leaves up to two weeks of early voting, but it eliminates things that aren't in. The Texas state law like Drive by voting, which is a recipe for disaster. So of course, the Democrats will come out with its the new gym cry. I am alone this other crap. Well see, unlike Democrats and liberals were actually about conserving free and fair elections because that's what conservatism is about conserving the best parts of America free elections that are easy to vote in an extremely hard to cheat, and that's the whole free and fair part. Texas. They're not about that. I mean, she's me. The Texans are about that and the Wall Street Journal objects to it. The Wall Street Journal wants them to dump a feature of the bill. That prevents voting before one PM on one of the days off two weeks of early voting. Because that day is on a Sunday And they're saying well, minority voters could perceive this is an attack on them because they have souls to the polls. Why are we playing into this? It is. That is nonsense. There's two weeks off early voting, I assure you minority voters in Texas are very smart. Would argue it's racist to hint to. Otherwise they can figure out how to vote, folks. I promise you

Are Donovan Mitchell and the Jazz True Contenders?

"So tony. Let's start this story during last year's playoffs done mitchell and jamal murray have this epic battle in the nba. Bubble shot clock down to four. Mitchell has millsaps. Automobile three took three and returns the staredown ton of matchel clutch. Three pointer for the jazz. Eventually mitchell jazz fall in dramatic fashion a game. Seven two seconds ago for the winter. Tell us about donovan. Mitchell after that loss of known donovan. Pretty well in the four years. He's been with the johnson. I don't think i've seen him data emotional in the post game. There's so many things. I just feel like we could did and we didn't and i think that's just where the hurt really comes because quite frankly i don't i give them credit but i feel like we kind of eased off the gas. You have to remember the jazz at a be in the second half of game five which was supposed to be oppose out game for them to do more and this won't happen again is extremely down and he just basically said. We're not losing in the first round of the playoffs anymore. This ain't the end. This ain't this is just the beginning man. This is just the just the beginning. And i'm ready to go. Who begin right now and so once. The cameras were gone and donovan. Mitchell was back home in utah. How how did he spend. This off. season is funny. Because i talked to somebody close to donovan mitchell about this a couple of weeks ago and one thing he said was donovan was on the phone with people like literally. You know two or three days after the season Sam less workout. You know the thing about donovan. He's a guy that goes out and he works on his craft resolutely. And you know. I think that not only. Did he work on his craft during the offseason but after that the rest of the jazz from person one person fifteen worked on their craft under all season as well. Well let's bring it forward to this year. How did mitchell in the jazz start off. The current season they started off on four and with two really bad losses unforced turnover passing out an equal. Don't runaway league beasley. They lost the minnesota timberwolves at home. In the second game of the season they will blown out and outclassed in brooklyn nets team did james harden because they hadn't traded for them and they didn't have durant is everywhere. Count it at one but rudy rudy. Did show back up on the screen and brooklyn's play it with alan at the energy so basically re irving at a bunch of role players that blasted the jazz in new york. You know jazz nation on the fan base was kind of going crazy. The jazz a couple of games where they look like world-beater. They had a couple of games where they look really back. And tony. I wanted to ask you about this moment. That happened on live television a few weeks ago. That was really widely discussed. It started at halftime of jazz. Pelicans game when the tnt broadcast crew was discussing the game. My question to the panel. Donovan mitchell is that the point of superstardom where he can take you there. Or he's still all star status. He needs to be so go. Third option really. Yes yeah i feel like it. No talent to do it. He's a great score. Grew there but if he's not score. What else can you do. And when the game ended shack starts interviewing donovan mitchell. Who's still on the court right after the jazz victory. Yeah and he says. I said tonight. That you are one of my favorite players. But you don't have what it takes to get to the next level as central purpose on wednesday to hear what you have to say about that. I that's it i mean. What were your thoughts when you first saw that exchange so the irony of the whole thing is that the actual conversation was fair. That part of the conversation that happened at halftime that part was fair. We know the donovan. Vigil is a dynamic offensive player. We know that he is a star. We know that he is an all star. Caliber guy for him to be a superstar. He has to round out his game and do everything he's got to defend. He's got a rebound. These got make plays for others. What wasn't fair is shaquille. O'neal saying hey. I don't think that you have what it takes to get to the next level as a player. And i just wanted you to hear that. What's your reaction. And i felt bad for about donovan. Because he was really dominant in that went over to pelicans he didn't deserve to be blindsided like up on live television and frankly he handled it as about as well as you handle something like that. My rookie year norms gonna get better mood. I do wonder cuba. The look on his face. Kind of indicated that he wasn't happy you know about the question but at the same time he's always been a person that knows how to express himself. I think he's a guy that's kinda. Learn how to lockout the proverbial outside noise and kind of focus on what he has to do and i think a desk one of the reasons why he's improved so much as a player.

Apple and Google vs Epic and Fortnite: What you need to know

"There's a clash between Apple Google epic, the maker for night over APP store commission fees. So what the heck is going on. I'm ready Chang and this is your daily charge. Joining US insurer editor at large has been covering the drama for us. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me. Two weeks back just to kind of review things for our listeners lay the conflict for us. This has been fascinating to watch because we don't get to see stuff like this terribly often. But essentially, what happened is that EPA Games which you mentioned makes fortnight. They decided that they were going to go up against apple in a really dramatic fashion, and so what they did is that they kind of provoked a response out of apple they knew they would get in the caused Lodhran. So apple has rules on their APPs store right? You're there certain things as a developer allowed to do, and there's certain things you're not allowed to do, and one of those rules is that you have to use apple system whenever you're doing purchases through an APP. So if I'm buying extra coins or whatever you want in an APP or even subscription to Netflix. I have to get to go through apple's system and part of what apple gets out of that is thirty percent commission up to thirty percent. Sometimes, it's lower for all of the commerce that happens through the APPS. It's a really problematic thing for of developers. It's become more dramatic over the years even though commissions are roughly what they have been for a long time. It's become kind of a as apple's platform has grown, and especially because a lot of apple users tend to spend more money than Google users, it's caused a lot of consternation. So epic decides they're going to change the way the pay payments are done in the APP. They offer people discount if they pay us through the epic system instead of apples and apple decides no way. They kick him out of the APP store and then epic turns around and sues them and it was an amazing couple of hours to watch because. Epic knew this was GonNa Happen they prepared a lawsuit is extremely dramatic opening to the lawsuit bringing up how apple in nineteen eighty four was all against the corporate machine of IBM and now they become the carpet machine and it was really they really they even posted at. That famous nineteen eighty-four commercial from Apple Right. It was genius. I mean. You know not taking sides here but you have to respect the way they played this game. And as a result, you know free fortnight the Hashtag went to the top of twitter worldwide, which you would kind of expect when there are two, hundred, fifty, million fortnight players out there. But it's been a since then there's just this all of this drama that's happened between apple and it's worth noting by the way that Google was also provoked by all of this and in that same day that first day they actually kicks for night out of the store, just the same and and a fortnight turned around and. Sued them and in the opening to that lawsuit there like in the beginning Google was so proud of being don't be evolved and now they've turned around and so it was it was really like it was pretty fun to watch. So anyway, apple and an epic become the real drama in this CAS apple continues to kind of in a way publicly fight with epic whereas Google an epic We haven't heard much about since ultimately, what what does this mean for consumers especially right now with what's going on and? Specifically for Gamers play for night like what? What has these what does this dispute? resulted in for. Gamers. A really interesting sideshow while we're all board from the pandemic. I think that for most people obviously, if you don't have four nine download to your phone tough cookies, you're not going to be able to download it. Until some point epoch has actually asked the judge in this case to put a kind of rule out that would say epic can have four night in the APP store until this lawsuit is over and there is precedent for that kind of thing mostly in Europe, but it could happen. Otherwise if you have an android phone, right anything this on my phone then it you will be able to download fortnight from epoch directly be can't get in the Google play store. So that's that's kind of how consumers are affected and there are larger implications here by kicking epic out of the APP Store Apple also revoked their developer count and epoch actually make tools for game developers as well. It's called the unreal engine and this is actually in a lot of games you may not even realize. So as a result now, the unreal. Engine is going to be not be able to be changed and updated as as things go on without that developer count, and we may see that suddenly a ton of games might just break on iphone. So that could be pretty bad too but it's GonNa be a while before that happens and Katie Mr examples of some games that use the unreal engine on these APP stores. So the games that are on the APP stores that used the unreal engine you have always heard of a epic actually put out a game called Infinity Blade. Hugely, popular on the APP store a couple of years ago, and it actually had two sequels as so it was really popular. There are outside developers as well who've used it. For example, there was a game called City lockdown that was a again, pretty popular and ended up doing well on the APP store. There's a bunch of other games out there that are more. Usual stuff like pinball games and and racing games and stuff like that But the point here is that a lot of the developers out there increasingly used on real especially in the PC gaming in the end, the console gaming world. So this is something that could be really meaningful as apple and Google try to kind of turn their their devices into these gaming platforms suddenly cutting off one of the main. Gain Development Systems is a pretty bad look

Don’t Lose the Thread. The Economy Is Experiencing an Epic Collapse of Demand.

"We segue from that's okay into a headline from The New York Times that says quote don't lose the thread the economy is experiencing an epic collapse of demands so how do we do you know kind of juxtaposed these two different ideas where we've got the stock market either after closing in on all time highs but also we have a tremendous amount of demand sucked out of the economy what what are your thoughts Mike well I mean I I kind of think of it as a bit of a field of dreams moment you know build it and they will combat that that's sort of the expectation that businesses are operating under right now and you're right we do have an epic collapse of demand but there is a very quantifiable and you know resist the obvious reasons that collapse in demand right a massive virus structure and that collapsed all sorts of demand for goods services products etcetera and now it's going away and so businesses investors are betting on the fact that that demand is about to rebound in a very very dramatic fashion but the authors write that Hey you know we we shouldn't ignore the fact that demand even right now isn't really

A Seller of Purple Goods, a Jailer, and an Unknown God

"Listen we are. We're jumping back into ax today to continue our journey In Discussing Acts Sixteen. And today we're looking at a seller of purple goods a jailer and an unknown God. There's some incredible stories in these few chapters of the book of acts. And so we're going to dig in and so right off the Bat and act. Sixteen we encounter a friend and CO worker of Paul who is going to factor in heavily just future ministry from here on this Timothy in acts. Sixteen you hear Paul came also to Derby into lie. Stra and disciple. Was there named Timothy now on Timothy? That's like he's like he is probably outside of Barnabus right. He's going to be such a prominent figure for the rest of the New Testament right. He's pulse keynote. Address letters to Timothy and their ministry collaborates. Paul talks about missing Timothy wanting to send timothy when like these guys. Are Thickest thieves so what this Timothy Sharing Common with Paul that we find out real quickly here because he says disciple their name Timothy the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer but his father was a Greek. So what do we know kind of a is there a reason maybe that they hit it off so closely rank as Paul also has great gin Jr like this Ju- Greek connection right? I see what you're trying to get an I. Maybe this is just being like not seeing this before. Maybe other people have seen this in. It's really evident how ironic that chapter sixteen in terms of the contents is coming right after chapter. Fifteen right because what do we just talked about in chapter? Fifteen is this gentile inclusion in Jerusalem Council. Of what are we going to Ask Gentile converts to its fulfillment of the Jewish faith. Now what are we Gonna? Ask THEM TO DO. Or WE'RE NOT GONNA ask them to be circumcised. They just need to abstain from sexual immorality abstained from food sacrificed to idols food with blood in it. And then here you have. Timothy who is perfectly kind of representing both of these cultures of Christianity is going out into a Jewish culture because his mom is Jewish but then but then his father is. Greek is gentle. And so I certainly number one and God's providence that this is the kind of Co laborer that he would give Paul to help him Of course so Paul is is thoroughly Jewish right. She makes clear New Testament. Also somebody who understands in converted from also a Greek culture. But here's what's crazy about this Mason King and I in our colleague here at the Institute. We're talking about this yesterday. As he was preparing for a lecture. The training program is your little further so in chapter one dollars. Okay so this is Timothy. He's the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer but his father was Greek. He's spoken well of strap but then in verse three We. We learned that Paul Wants Timothy to accompany him. So come be my ministry partner. This is now the missionary journey that we're going out on any took him. And what does he do? Circumstances sizes them. Yeah right after we were just told. Hey you don't have to do that. Like some stage fright about becoming a Christian you. You're you're you don't need to do that. All you need to do as abstain from sexual immorality but here he gets a ministry partner. They're going to go on a Jewish gentlemen but primarily gentile mission. Yeah any circumstances them. Yeah why I think you know. It's funny because I was. I was hoping that we would talk about this I think that it is partly or I think it. Lines UP WITH PAUL's vision of laying down prerogatives and privileges. For the sake of ministry like pulsing. Listen you know like he talks about later on said I could I could earn incomes off my ministry but I'm choosing not to. I'm laying down right in order that you know I could be available to you that there are no road blocks in the going forth of the Gospel. I think this is a strong and weak thing. I think that Paul Sang Listen. Hey Timothy they're going to be people because right because his ministry you find out later we're gonNA talk about it. He goes in. He gets into a town where to go synagogue right right. He's he's going right there. So that's where even if the mission extends out to gentiles each newtown? He's coming into. He's he's jumping into the synagogue. I and I think that with Timothy. It says that hey. They knew that his father was Greek. Right all new all new that new the Jews father was Greek so I think Paul saying listen. You know obstacle. Let's just remove all of the things. Don't pause for awkward. Well it does seem like a like okay. Did they lift up? Everybody's rogue don't think honestly. I do have questions about that. I just I can't heads or tails of it. Everybody knew this guy was not a gentile. I mean do. Do you walk different. That'd be what is the deal. Evidently there was widespread information about this. That Paul was like listen. It's going to be a stumbling block. We have this. We're not gonNA having side conversations that distract us from Gospel conversations. Yes but it's really. I mean so basically you have. Hey you guys don't get circumcised. This guy get circumcised which I think is really informative for us in the modern church where anytime. There is a temptation to widely prescribed. Something that is Has already been noted. Hey this is not a test for Orthodoxy That we should we should question what. What's the cost benefit to whether someone here's your particular command or not? Yeah and and I think a coal here a picture to that part of the burden of spiritual leadership regardless of where it's at is the willingness. Yeah lay down. Because he's yes. He's a leader. That's important distinction. Here is is is that it's prescribed for him because he'll be a particular position of visibility exactly and so you can think of all kinds of correlations for for leaders in the Church today being above reproach being probably yeah number one of them And often we can talk about things like Christian Freedom That's like a theological category to say like wherever the Bible doesn't speak but your conscience doesn't allow you to do something. Don't prescribe that for me. We get to walk in freedom. And that's true and that's really important especially in some maybe kind of heavily. Legalistic circles fundamentalist circles. That would say we're going to go beyond scripture and demand that you also maintain these ethical boundary markers but the other side is also true. Is that that could lead to an anti communism where we basically don't WanNa follow any law at all. Yeah and Paul's really charting a middle course here and saying yes. We are free in Christ acts fifteen while at the same time. We're willing to lay down our rights for the sake of the rest of the Gospel Acts Sixteen. Yeah that's a really incredible tension. It really didn't find myself. You know go on my own personal life. Moving between both of them. I am free in Christ but I also I don't want to leave anything down. You know freedom all you have to do. Is these things. Then you realize you know what this could be a stumbling block or an officer for the Gospel. Lord help me lay this down. We'll and yes all yes to all of that. That's really important. I think it's also an indicator that we've mentioned multiple times in acts that that the Church's formation is emerging from from not just thoroughly but almost completely Jewish sensibilities and sources. So it's easy for US specifically for non Jewish people to really quickly rush past all of the The Jewish roots of this story and access. Full of these little glimmers where you start to see like their self understanding of this is as the full expression the proper expression of what all the. Old Testament was about three. It's still very much we rush. Pass it in almost Judaism as like this all together separate thing and we know that in light of the resurrection how the Christian community forged it has from the Resurrection Onward. It became increasingly more distinctive. The the difference but at this point they are still very close to that. Yeah for sure. Well and I think our unfamiliarity with the Old Testament means that as as as New Testament gentile believers were like circumcisions. Weird guys like. Why are we even talking about this like? Why is there a Jerusalem Council? You know you would think they'd want to dump that off as soon as possible front. But if you're familiar like with the story for example Moses where where God says. He's he's going to kill him if he doesn't circumcise his son because he hasn't been Abedian to to circumcise his son. And then Tzipora gets in there and fixes the problem in a rather dramatic fashion. Those are the stories that are are looming large in the consciousness of the Jewish mind. And so it's not it's not a small thing at all. I mean it is it is it was a it was such a strong dividing line in the Old Testament and Paul understands that in order to initiate a conversation about The shedding of blood for the renewing of life. Yeah he he needs to make accommodations

Thank you for your decades devotion to our for some members of Congress like Cedric Richmond who've worked for years to bridge racial divides the award of the nation's highest. I civilian honor to radio. Host Rush. Limbaugh in their chamber was a Gut Punch. This would just be one bad time in America's history where we placated in pander to racists and Dan dividers for decades limbaugh's been accused of overt race baiting of appealing to the worst of Americans prejudices often directing his most incendiary remarks toward African Americans. The NFL all too often looks like a game between the blood weapons. President Obama was a frequent target target. Limbaugh playing a provocative song on his show magic and Limbaugh was one of the early proponents of one of the most infamous false attacks on Obama which was heavily promoted by Donald Trump. Rush Limbaugh was at the centre or at least was a contributor to the conspiracy theories about President Obama the specious and harmful argument. That President Obama had not been born in the United States and therefore was an illegitimate president. And what riles Congressman Richmond. Is the company rush. Limbaugh now keeps when you think about the people who have received this awarded as people who bring the people who fight for cause of unity and justice and then we just give it to somebody who has stoked and is a blatant racist limbaugh now shares a medal of freedom with civil rights icons Martin Luther King Junior Muhammad Ali Jackie Robinson and Rosa Parks who President Clinton recognized after bestowing stowing. The award on her at a state of the Union address in the middle of his impeachment limbaugh also drew criticism for comments about women including his remark Mark About Female Georgetown University Student Who Campaign for access to birth control. Does that make her an extra slut right right prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex rush. Limbaugh later apologized. President trump does have the prerogative to give the medal of freedom freedom to whoever he chooses and plenty of other recipients have been controversial. It should also be noted that rush limbaugh has an enormous following and just revealed he has late stage stage lung cancer but historian Tim Noth- tally believes at this moment in this political climate. I think the president has tarnished the award by giving it to a very divisive figure in of reality show moment in the state of the union at a time when this country three desperately needs healing. I asked Congressman Richmond if he'll lodge a protest against the award to limbaugh. We're watching effort to have that award revoked. He said there are too many other other important issues. He has to concentrate on and he doesn't want to give this any more attention. We did ask the White House to respond to the criticism over the limbaugh award. We never heard back from them.

Instability in the Middle East: What's behind the unrest?

"Instability in the Middle East as Titan once again problem stems from service in a restaurant demonstrations reported in Iraq Lebanon Yemen and worst of all it wrong one hundred have been killed by Salem colleagues imagine Gorka spoke with you on Berman senior vice president American foreign policy council whose focus on regional security in the Middle East this is the real world and then this media because any of the time I think the fact that hundreds of protesters in the country that is the largest sponsors state terrorism have been killed by by the authorities on the front pages of every newspaper for days but it's not they'll have Berman this is this is unbelievable talk about why that is in a second but can you give us an update you follow these things what's going on in Iraq sure and and by the way as to preface this is not just a wrong it's happening in Iraq it's happening in Lebanon and it's all part of a larger puzzle since twenty fifteen since the JCP away the nuclear deal that president Obama signed and walked us into the Iranian regime has been on a path of sustained expansion they've been expanding around the region and this is a great is is it your trade expected ship this is proxies embarrassed and freight and politics when all of it enabled by the enormous economic and strategic benefits that they got as a result of the Obama okay over Bosnia and what you're seeing now is that there is over stretch on the part of this incipient Iranian empire there are protests going on in Iraq their protests going on in Lebanon and about a lot of things about government mismanagement corruption but they're also about a reading interference and or even protest taking place right now within Iran itself against the regime but let's be clear here the the there's a there's multiple constituents I'm sure that there are those who are in other countries who are fed up of Iran's intervention but perhaps most important of all of them all of the Iranian so saying we can't afford to feed our kids then you'll fighting wars in Yemen right such protesting that old regime that's exactly right and and so there was a sense among Iranians ordinary Iranians that this deal that the Islamic Republic hammered out with the United States would have some sort of trickle down effect that their lives would get better right there like haven't gotten better the Iranian ayatollahs spend much more money on guns and they do one better and the Iranians are fed up and in real economic terms ordinary Iranians are up a third poorer than they were in nineteen seventy nine to think about that for a second think about a third poor yeah yeah it in in real arms are a hundred forty billion dollars was released to them by the loss of ministration that's right that's right and and not only one of the one of the richest oil nations in the world correct and ridges natural gas nations in the world and a country that has spent the last half decade capitalizing on this diplomatic deal by normalizing trade with Europe with the west in in a pretty dramatic fashion and yet none of that is really translating into prosperity at home so Iranians are young overwhelmingly two thirds of a country eighty four million are younger than the receipt meeting they weren't around when the Ayatollah bought off the seventy that not correct when they weren't around when recall how many stepped off the plane in Tehran they don't buy into the core tenets of the Islamic Republic they are really just interested in what the regime can do for that there he's not doing much for that it's doing a lot of expansionism in the region but there's not prosperity at home and so you're seeing this grassroots a push back it's really dramatic and it's really potentially transformative which is why the regime is cracking down the regime's response of the current protests are exactly good much more draconian than what you've seen in the past because the I it was a scare about as the no my family issues as as a child of those who escaped the dictatorship literally my father escaped a communist prison was liberated I have a certain baggage I bring our perspective at the end of the day was falling said how many tank divisions does the pope have kind of comes to the fore as long as the regime has all the tanks in the gums are they going to stay in control or are you seeing fishes inside the regime with somebody could perhaps defect well that that's the real question and the answer is we

"The one eight hundred flowers dot com Twitter feed at Mike leaves at Metcalf by ESPN waiting to be joined by Kyle Kuzma from the Lakers who took down the warriors last night in dramatic fashion up in the bay area. I'll say dramatic not because the game was closed at the end because they thought the defending champions at one twenty seven to one to one and they did it mostly without LeBron James who left the game in the third quarter with a groin injury. He's supposed to undergo an MRI today to find out the true extent of that injury. He said after the game he didn't think it was that severe. Evidently, he was told that the muscle is still intact to pull away from the bone, which would be a big deal. But my let me ask you this. Let's say he is going to be out how many games or how many weeks would he have to be out for you to be really concern? About the Lakers and their playoff push. You know, what I mean, the west is so tight it would have to be something like three to four weeks for me. Like, they can they can stay afloat in that race as tight as it is, you know, and beat the middle of the pack teams, hang with the middle of the pack teams. But you know, if he's out for something beyond like a month or so I mean, they're they're in trouble. And that they would a growing injury is everyone saying the right thing the Brian was in good spirits excited about excited about coming back. Not feeling like any serious damage had been done. That's also one of those tricky injuries where you know. It's like a sprained ankle, and you know, you can reactivate it it can kind of linger. So if that happens to me, that's the bigger threat. Michael is okay. He comes back. But then he just continues to reactivate the injury over the course of this season. And they're not sure win win. He'll be healthier not. So that'll be the the bigger concern. But I was impressed by what they did with him last night against the is. And I was certainly impressed by the work by the Lakers and what they did without him in winning that game. If you're watching. The game on ABC last night. You probably saw LeBron mouth the words. "Laughing maniacal on top of it. This is Dan Patrick final hour news. Meet Friday more meet Friday songs coming up Dan in the Dan Patrick show. Recapping last night with the chargers into chiefs in dramatic fashion. Chargers. Pull out a victory who would have thought not fully assembled UB Kansas City in Kansas City and fairness to Kansas City. Still not having Kareem hunt in there that is a big loss. But you're at home against the chargers you've owned the chargers chargers don't add their starting running back there. They don't have their starting tight end. And hunter Henry granted. He's been out the entire year. But you go in there, and you pull out the victory in dramatic fashion. So we'll recap that here from Philip rivers coming up here in a moment. Good morning to our radio and TV partners. James harden, dropped an easy fifty on the Lakers last night. And you're watching James harden. And I don't know if we get to the point where you sort of take guys for granted. Because we're always looking for the next, and it doesn't take long for us to move on from something. You know, the warriors. They were must see TV now. Okay. Russell westbrook. The third. Okay. James harden? I get bored easily now. Now, we find Patrick Mahomes, and it won't take long before we move on from Patrick Mahomes last year. You had Carson Wentz to Shawn Watson. So Baker Mayfield sort of the flavor of the month there for a little while Patrick Mahomes, probably going to be your MVP. And then we'll move onto somebody else. But this charger team has a chance to do something really special now Dave one on the road. I don't think they have a home field advantage. But you are seeing I think the most balanced team in the NFL when everybody's healthy. They're Keenan Allen got hurt last night. Melvin Gordon comes back. That defense is great. You're going to have the rookie of the year on defense. So San Diego LA, the chargers, whatever you wanna call them. They are a team to be reckoned with and I think the most balanced team in the NFL and the second most balanced team might be the saints. And or the Rams so. You know, it's pretty top heavy in the NFC when you have Rams and the saints as for the AFC. I don't know if we look at the patriots the way we once did. Are they that formidable? We know they can win games win games. They probably shouldn't win. It feels like that. They're able to still do that. Because of Brady and Bill check. But they don't strike me. As boy you want to avoid the patriots. I get the feeling you want avoid the chargers. More than you do the patriots here. Who would be the surprise team to make the playoffs where you'd go? That team really makes me nervous, and I still think of two teams right away. And it's Seattle in Dallas. Because I think Dallas is defense. They figured that out and Seattle was running the football here. Seattle's defense is better than what you think they run the football. And you still have Russell Wilson. If a game is on the line in the final two minutes, I'll take him over any quarterback. But if I look at the Cowboys with what they've done and quietly Dak Prescott has proven himself to be a very dangerous quarterback. Now, he's got Amari Cooper in their Ezekiel Elliott going for a rushing title. And you got that defense there. Those are the two teams out of all these teams that could get in that I've been to face. Let's say you're a Rams fan. Would you not want to play it? And you had a hypothetical choice. You can choose you play in the first round total hypothetical bears or the Cowboys and you get to play. Well, they're going to have a by problem. More of more. Like a like a hypothetical are going to have home field. Vantage. So you're going to have your first matchup at the playoffs. Happy with either the bears or the Cowboys just based on facing those two teams would that. Okay. But that wouldn't happen though. Because the bears win their division and the Cowboys win their division. So they'd be playing a wildcard team. So you're saying the second round, let's say, yes. Okay. There you go for argument's sake. You'd be hosting the bears or hosting the Cowboys. I'd say the Cowboys would make me nervous more nervous than the bears. If if you have to play in Chicago or you have to play in Dallas, I think Chicago would make me more nervous. Yeah. Mclovin. I think a lot of people are going to point to the coach on the cowboy sideline and say the bears because a playoff failures in the past with the Cowboys. But then I have a coach on the sideline hadn't even been there with the bears. I've known as better than Jason Garrett in the playoffs. I like I just think the perception is that they don't win the big game. Okay. Who do you have more confidence in or less, competence and Andy Reid or Jason Garrett? Playoff time. Eddie we used to get to the championship game and loses big favorites. I just it was an odd feeling I had when that game ended. Now, I was excited for the chargers. But if it's just one of those where you go is all of this for nothing in Kansas City. Like we've seen this before with with the chargers. Right. They they put on a great show. They start out grade. They started out five last year lost a wildcard game to the titans. Twenty thirteen nine fell apart lost wildcard game to the colts this year start at five nine and one. And it feels like. Boy, they better avoid the wildcard game. They better, you know, you gotta get home field advantage here. And that is a great home field advantage. Well, it it Kansas City is one of the tougher places to play right until it gets cold. Man, they were hurled against the Ray four and nine throw the ball up in the arrogance ravens away from losing that game. That's true. That is true. And by the way. If you want to find out the first on the bandwagon to say, Patrick Mahomes is going to be like Dan Marino and not win a big game. Give credit to USA today's Nate Davis. Because that's his column he thinks that Patrick Mahomes great quarterback, but will never win big. We saw a similar performance from Marino. His second year in the league. He threw for five thousand yards and forty eight touchdowns that was unheard of. That's nineteen Eighty-four. That would be like sixty touchdowns now. But I think it's a little it's a little early. This a little early to say, Patrick Mahomes might be like Dan Marino. Great arm gunslinger. First of all, the homes is a whole lot different. The Dan Marino is different quarterback than Dan Marino. Marino was wonderful in the pocket. Quick release. Mom's a great athlete there and has an arm as strong if not stronger than merinos, so let me just slow down a little bit on Patrick Mahomes. If he won last night was he still going to be compared to Dan Marino, a great quarterback and not win the big one. In one thousand nine hundred four the year the damn Reno had forty eight touchdown passes. Guess what second-place was thirty six thirty two. Dave Craig nobody else had more than thirty. When's the last time you had that much of a separation between the the top sixteen ounce? Yeah. So give us a minute. But that's a good one. Yeah. I'm curious about that pain through fifty five. Right. I'm curious, but that was a big passing year. So I've wondered that was enough. Well, I'm guessing Brady put up some pretty big numbers there to remember the. Yeah, they flip flopped timeout a huge year than painting. Yeah. Here is Philip rivers on the two point conversion last night. That won the game in Kansas City. We throw a touchdown on the same play.

"But Paul Allen passing away at the age of sixty five due to cancer Packers meeting the Niners last night doing it in dramatic fashion. Of course, they'd have it no other way, but just feels like that. That's almost the game plan here. Packers are similar to Seattle the, you know, hey, just make something happen here and give credit to the Niners. I thought Kyle Shanahan I had a great game plan. They ran the ball CJ Beathard look, good. Did have the one pick, but you know the Packers beating the Niners and I still have. I don't have a good feel for the Packers. I don't know if they're going to the playoffs and winning the division, or they're not gonna make the playoffs at all because they could have easily lost. Right. But the Niners hold on make it interesting, but had the ball there at the end and couldn't score so Packers beat the Niners thirty, three thirty. Here's Aaron Rodgers. Summing up the victory after the game. I don't know if it was a season saving win for us, but definitely was important one, especially with the prognosticating it'll go on about the type of opponent. We have coming up the next few weeks and obviously them being road games. This was an important game for us. I've never liked use. The term must win, but it was important one and Mason Crosby with four field goals. After that disastrous appearance member, everybody wanted to get rid of him. And I said, who you bring it in. Do you really think that there's somebody out there who's going to make all their field goals? There's a reason why they're on the street Mason. Crosby has been good for a long time for Green Bay and came back and had four field goals. Last night, Aaron Rodgers alluded to their schedule. They have a bye week, then it's the Rams, and then the patriots athems at the patriots than they have dolphins Seahawks, I believe is in Seattle. Is that right? Mclovin. Yeah, I believe telling me, okay, then they got Vikings cardinals, falcons bears, but now hard to handicap them. I don't know what the falcons are gonna look like by then. Yeah, in Seattle. Okay. So you got Rams patriots and Seattle on the road than the three weeks? Three of the four weeks after the bye week. Gonna find a whole lot about the Packers after that after that. Well, after Minnesota too. Yeah. Yep, on Friday. And I think in our last segment, the show we discussed, what were the toughest games to watch on the NFL slate this weekend? The three we picked were bears dolphins. I can't remember the other one, but I think ravens titans and forty Niners Packers. Those are three. We said, we're going to be bad watches. Well, one was a bad watch. Yeah. Yeah. The other to the bears dolphins was interesting, and certainly last night proved to be interesting, but if you're a Packer fan, you didn't want last night to be interesting. You know, we enjoyed it as football fans because you didn't have a foregone conclusion. In fact, during the game, Scott van pelt is he was going to follow the game. So going into halftime. Van pelt talks about, hey, coming up on my show after the game. So he had tapes something, and we'll talk to Aaron Rodgers. Well, if Aaron Rodgers and the Packers lost that game, I'm guessing Scott impels not gonna have Rogers on the post game show, just guessing they're everybody thought, hey, you know they're going to blow them out. Yeah, we'll get Rogers, hey, yeah. Put in CF Rodgers will join us after blown out the Niners and then all of a sudden you're going, oh, they're in trouble here. I we say good morning to our radio and TV partners. Our phone number's eight, seven,.

Where we are Paul Rogers is here he's got all the all star details sports and has the homerun derby surpassed the all star game is the actual how event. Of the festivities it's a very popular event and let's face it probably more action than, the game itself at least in terms of a. Ball's plan, realm last night the homerun derby in Washington with, a Bryce Harper the Washington National winning it before the home folks in. Pretty dramatic fashion he, defeated cubs outfielder Kyle. Swore nineteen eighteen he was down eighteen to nine without eighty seconds left for rallying at. Home runs anonymous last ten at bats had wanted. An extra time I got off to that, kind of slow start a better. Figure it out, I'm gonna lows, hit the, ball the fence and I did that is nice Harbor banged up thirteen home runs in each of the first two rounds he'd be brazed first baseman Eddie, Freeman and, then the dodgers max, Muncie. Nine of his first twenty six home runs traveled over four hundred feet while the game is tonight, the American League against. The National League and this is the tiebreaker long running series is dead even at forty three forty three and to the American League one last year extra innings two. "Of at bats unless you do something monumental are. There some, walk off something that's gonna make you remember I think you're gonna remember the homerun derby more. Especially when it's like it was last. Night well cliff is saying. It, was. The best home in derby ever although your guy Reese Hoskings got robbed boykin rob rob shorter came. Back and like the, last. Couple of sex Oh A couple of quick pitches so swore beat him land as. Fan let me let me just say one. Thing Your guy played very well rob Derby ever best home right was he ever thought it might have been the best home derby ever McGuire and those guys at Fenway in ninety eight that was or ninety nine wherever. That was that was pretty special it was ninety nine and Ted Williams, was there on the field again what what makes it different is we saw a record, number of home runs last night but the bottom line is weren't the monster names of people outside of, Bryce Harper who won the. Thing but there wasn't big names. Everybody, else was a. First timer Yup in the thing, but when there's names in it all. Of a, sudden it's much better but boy last night I didn't. Care what the names. Were man it was very exciting it was a show. And you know what it was it was entertaining television. At the end of the day. That's what it's supposed to be so we'll start what's, trendy with what happened last. Night NAT, star Bryce Harper. Becomes just the third player to, win the homerun derby in his home. Bark joining, Todd Frazier for the reds and Ryan Sandberg of the. Cubs and he did. It in dramatic fashion yeah he really did you go. You get to the last round we'll go through the. Whole thing but the last round. He was going against Kyle Schwartz who by the way Guy by the way warmer had to who did he he had. To beat you beat REEs Hoskins apparently he Hoskins. Was robbed according to cliff beat him twenty one to twenty in that second round Hoskins started out with twenty home runs in. The second round got beat by shorebridge twenty one so it was about a minute to go in the final, and Schwartzberg. Already gone he had eighteen home runs with a little over a minute to go Bryce Harper at nine. Had only nine home runs he then his eight straight home runs and nine, of his last ten were home. Runs to tie it as time ran out but because of. The distance of his of. His one of his home runs. Went over what four, hundred forty four forty you get hit to over four forty to. Get the extra thirty and he had no problem with that he had a total. Of ten over four fifty last night by the way and everybody else, combined for nine so we tied him. In, the last second of the, regulation he got the extra time. The second pitch from his dad, in the extra time he knock went over the wall, and he wanted to Finals nineteen eighteen very very exciting by the way It made with what he, was wearing you know all the all the the the red white. And blue, innovations Cavaliers like he's gonna, win this, they say it's sort of look like oh. Yeah that's the, guy was. Definitely gonna win It was very exciting quite. Honestly one of the most exciting rounds was. The first round when it was sure. Burn bregman Yup Schwarzer went I he had sixteen. Bregman had fifteen and they were at five seconds so he was going to get one more pitch it was. Sixteen and fifteen one more, pitch he hits a shot to center field it hits right. About the middle of the wall he. Was a mere couple. Of feet away from. Tying it, up and sending that one two extras there saw I thought all. Around, again two hundred twenty one home runs Schwab racks hit the most he actually at fifty five home runs. He's the real, winner that, was my guy but again because. Of. The way the rounds went and with with Harper going second all you had to do is get one. More than the guy was beaten on. The first, two rounds he actually stopped, you know after he got enough to win yeah and Bryce Harper..
