"With Dr Wendy Johnson about Cove it would have we learned Joining us now from the D. C area is Dave Jenkins. Dave is the president of conservatives for responsible stewardship. Mr Jenkins, Welcome to the show. Thank you for having me. Okay. What is your organization? We're pretty much what the name says. We're a non profit that has about 20,000. Members across the country. And we're conservatives who care about Conservation and natural resource stewardship, which we think is conservative. But you know, some people have a different definition these days. But, yeah, I mean, you know The conservatives had a long history of protecting our natural resource is from Teddy Roosevelt on that s O. That's who we are. Would you say in just in terms of political parties, mostly Republicans. Yeah, I would send. Uh, not many people label themselves conservative and go the other route on the party. So yes, mostly Republican. Do you mean David D. Do you guys look back and say, you know, where did the Conservative party become on into interested or less interested, more interested in other things than conservation? Oh, yeah Way studied attics extensively, and I trace it. Christian back, Tonto. Right after Ronald Reagan left office and Newt Gingrich became speaker of the House. On Rush Limbaugh became medicine syndicated. It seemed like that the rhetoric and stuff around the environment took a dramatic turn away from stewardship on Boer toward You know, uh Or a limb for today. Guy kind of stuff in terms of do whatever makes makes makes the most money. You know, Right, Right. More profit, greed and stuff like that. I mean, I don't know if you'd agree with me day, but I've said for 20 years. I used to work in a Rush Limbaugh station that you know that was kind of the beginning, especially of the climate deniers on Rush Limbaugh of that every day every day every day. The tree huggers anti green anti environment. Giving cover to to the oil companies on basically, I think, setback any kind of scientific rational discussion about a warming planet. You can trace it back to limbo. I don't if you'd agree or not. Yeah, I agree. 100% of people don't realize is that the first climate bill that was signed in the law was signed into law by President Reagan. And interestingly enough, the author of that bill was Joe Biden. Yeah, and then Margaret Thatcher was going around the world talking about We had a duty to our Children and grandchildren to deal with this problem, And then things kind of fell apart from there. I think the only gas interested start spending massive amounts of money on Like you're trying to trade people, But it wasn't true. All right. So your group the conservatives for responsible stewardship. When you look at what President Biden is now proposing the six month moratorium on leasing a federal land for Roland Gas drilling? You look in that and go, But are you looking? Then go No, it's probably not a bad idea. Yeah, well, everything is a prudent decision. Because For the past four years. The previous administration was sort of almost Everton on We think this clear, responsible leasing Benj! Had ignored the whole market and then ignored basic principles of supplying the man. And it even in cardiology. In many cases, and so There's a lot of leasing reform. It really needs to be done to make sure taxpayers get a fair return on that. So we think that this Pollos is much needed step toward restoring some balance and some sanity. To our country's oil and gas leasing program. What do you mean, when you say the taxpayers were not getting a fair return now? Our commissioner, state public land here in New Mexico? Stephanie Garcia Richard. She's trying to raise the rate so that New Mexico premium based in we get the same return. On oil depletion as let's say, West Texas They get more money than we do. But they do have they do have better distribution and delivery systems. What do you what I mean? What's What do you say when you say taxpayers again ripped off or short chain? Well, there's a couple things. There's some things built into our leasing system, 30 year old laws that haven't taken inflation into account. But the biggest biggest thing the last four years. Is that the Trump administration when it was doing this, this massive leasing Benj. It wasn't paying attention to the demand for oil. So, for example, they're in New Mexico. There's more acreage offered for lease in 2020 during the pandemic. There was an all of 2019. We noticed. How did How does that make any sense Because the way we get way taxpayers getting money from leasing is that you? Will those leases to be in high demand and company's been against each other and drive the price up. Um, that doesn't happen to the same degree. When the price of oil is crashing. Got all tank end up off the coast with the word of their oil and All companies are going out of business right and left. I mean, the industry was literally drowning in oil becomes someone supply was outstripping demand. And yet we're still going on the leasing babes like nothing ever happened. Yeah, in northern New Mexico, especially, which was really, really I mean questionable around, uh, protected areas like like Chako can and even the BLM was leasing during the pandemic, which when is, he said even his is, he said, Dave, that oil actually went into the negatives for a short period. I think yesterday did get close to $60 again. In London, London crude anyway What's the future? It's the future during a pandemic when when people it's going to be. I don't know People are going to rush back to fly and drive and vacation or it's gonna be a slow come back. What do you think is the future for oil and gas exploration drilling oil companies. I don't. I don't think there's gonna be a compact per se. I mean, it may fluctuate and get up 60 and go back down the 40 and arrange for a while. The real The real threat. The US all production is declining demand worldwide. Industry experts are projecting a long term downward demand trend that will keep all prices as the CEO of Robot shelf. Put it. Over forever. Please, that we're looking at a future where all prices will be below $50 about pretty much forever and it cost us more in this country to produce oil because we have to go deeper and And we're doing things in remote areas where we had to build up the infrastructure and stuff. And so we need. You know, we need 50 $60 a barrel at a minimum, just Theo for those these oil wells to turn a profit. But You know it keeps dropping on. The reason is dropping is Electrification of the transportation grid. Things like that. Of course, the pandemic really Made it take a hit, but over the long term and you look you look at where we're going. You're General Motors just announced that all their cars are gonna be electric something like 2032 or 3 35 semi All the same. I drug manufacturers air going electric. The U. P s trucks are going elected and has her bushes, trucks. Walmarts trucks going elected, so When you start looking at that picture, you say, Well, you know, there's not that much demand. And yet we have the old companies have more releases and drilling permits. Then they know what to do with They are almost 5000 leases over the past four years alone. And with these existing leases and permits they're gonna take decades to develop if they're developed it also, Why are we rushing to release more and the Trump Administration during a pandemic? They even granted royalty relief, meaning that All companies would pay less royalties during the pandemic, which encourages production at time when they're drowning in oil, So we just need to do this a lot smarter, and we also need to restore some more balance in terms of multiple use. Make sure that we're taking care of other public.

"High Well, I don't know exactly what you are. But I can't say that I could find in the morning. Kind of. I spent some time in the morning. Scanning what we call the news, as in global news, especially looking at Open 19 prevention and trying to see how Italy how Sweden has great Britain. And as you can imagine, it is a brigand grab bag. I mean, look at Brazil. I mean, we could want in on and you do have to ask out of about 200 countries. They all are in totally different places, and some of them seem to have it together and some of them absolutely do not. I have a lot of confidence. In New Mexico and I'll tell you why I do. I think it is because we are small is because we know one another better, and I believe that we are good at mobilizing on a local level, and you know, we that's part of our job. We're doing that all the time. We're connecting people and I went with anything Medical Richard. I often go back to our 100% community guru in San Miguel County that probes to the medical director there. Of L Central clinics, and he he really has been in the forefront. He was at the forefront of getting testing sites up and running in northern New Mexico, and I know he's working really hard now to kind of get it all laid out and then to provide direction, so I I believe with more people like Matt. I think the state can pull it together and a year from now. Hopefully we're all celebrating. Celebrating and really healthy. That would be wonderful. All right. Once again, Dr Courtney, the best website for people to learn people to get the books people to contact you. Hannah, age eight dot or GCI. I GHT on a like a little girl's name. And then, eh? "Here comes my happiness again. 36 minutes after three of clock every week since I don't know March Of 2020. Dr. Wendy Johnson Medical Director Love Familia Medical Center in Santa Fe has joined us to talk about what we have learned about Cove in 19 and Dr Johnson. Welcome back once again. Thank you for your time is always I think we've learned quite a bit in the last 10 months. Oh, yeah. I can't even imagine where I was 10 months ago and thinking about you know everything that has transpired. I can't even hardly remember, gentlemen, which is that brain fog caused Valium Bike over 19 0. Watch out. All right. You have had one shot in your arm. When are you due for the second? Tuesday next week. Next week. Alright, week from today and then then magically you've got a halo around your head and you can do anything you want anywhere on planet Earth. Your fault. Oh, Oh, I mean, you know you could do it a lot of things that you should not. You should not. We should not, um, once we get the vaccine When those of us who get the vaccine once you get the vaccine. Um, First of all, it takes about two weeks after the last shot to get the full effect in immunity. Okay. Secondly, there's still some possibilities that you can Haven't asymptomatic infection that you could even transmit kind of almost like a carrier state. But not I mean, that comes to dramatic It would probably be transient would probably be a less lower viral load. For somebody who was vaccinated. So Ondo fully immune so but you know, it's still theoretically possible. We're studying that right now. And so we'll find out more in the next few weeks. I think about What? What? What kind of potential for transmitting the virus. People who have had the vaccine and curing asymptomatic. Infection. What potential they have definitely lower than then. Suppose haven't had the vaccine, but it's not, You know, Start zero. And then remember that You both for people who have gotten over it before and for people. They got the vaccine. For some reason, there's about 5% of the population who are either exposed to the virus. Exposed to the vaccine. Do not make the antibodies. So the vaccine isn't 100% effective at 95% effective and the same thing goes for people have had the vaccine or had the virus. No, We know that 95% of people have pretty good immunity now we know out for like eight months even after they get infected, But there's 5% that Don't And we don't know those 5%, are you? No, no, no, you are. So if Let's say you got the vaccine. Let's say I get the vaccine and let's say you know, sometime in February. It was just my sense of taste is now well, I better go get tested because Could still I could still get the virus even though I got the vaccine, okay? I've got a, um, an email from a listener earlier, who said that she heard that what she said. They are saying that the vaccine is maybe only good for a year. You heard anything around that? You know, we don't really know. We don't really know. You know the studies of the vaccine so far, you know, that's the earliest people got them around six months ago. I think going on about six months ago. So you know that's gonna be something. We'll look at. What we do know is that the trend line Look like they're holding. So they look at you. You're anybody levels every month for people who are in these trials and got the vaccine. And so we know that when those things have been looked at, there doesn't seem to be a drop off. You know? So right now it looks pretty good. It looks like you know, they're holding steady. So if you Kind of extrapolating those Lines out on those graphs that show you how much you're dropping up. Doesn't look like they're dropping off so much, So you know, hopefully will be at least year if not more. I think Who's doing that? Who's doing the testes? CDC is the university's health departments who's keeping track. Well, those are the drug companies because they you know that that's part of their You know their trials they need to. They wanted that information They need to know, right? So they know when people need, you know, boosters or whatever. So how How strong is the is the protection is the last thing Right? Yeah, That's the question that we don't know exactly. But you know till now I mean, and the other thing I wanted to say is that 95% effectiveness You know, I said, it's not 100%. That's true. That's better than you know. That's as good as the best vaccines that we have out there right now. You know it. A lot better than the food that seems so So it's pretty good, well, 400,000 people have registered on on the state website. The The call center in the phone thing's not working very well. But it will start working better tomorrow. But 400,000 people have registered which is encouraging. Yeah, we had We had to, um, Events and Santa Fe this week. Also, I think the Friday they opened up the Friday this morning, I think, and it's very you know, fully booked. So, um so they're you know, they're they're They're very you know, they're very popular. I think what I just saw today was so far we've given out About 70,000 vaccines, and I'm really hopeful lot of stuff on the horizon. There's would that the federal government, um under the Trump administration, Grizzlies at last Is going, Tonto today or tomorrow recommended states that they open it up to everybody over 65. On down essential workers, so We'll see. If that happens, then the other thing is That, of course, the Biden administration has said. When they get in, and they're gonna push up vaccine a lot more quickly and not hold back vaccine. So I think in the next You know, hopefully, week or so You're going to see a lot more availability effects scenes where we're slated to have we haven't had the vaccine to give to the general public. The first week we We gave a lot of health court care workers that you need a new addition to our own health care workers. And then for the next last three weeks, we haven't We haven't really had vaccine from the state to give because they've been funneling it into the nursing home today, these big Department of Health clinics and said they haven't given it to us. And now we're told next week we're gonna have against some. We're gonna have our second doses to give to the folks we get first does too, And we're gonna have some extra to give to our patient population to lowering the risk groups. And I think, you know, we'll see the you know. I really believe on you know is early in January, 21st. We're going to see a big influx of vaccine. Um, coming Why that day Because it's the day after the inauguration after the inauguration, Yeah, new administration. Why? Why is Well,.

"Thursday and Friday Back live Monday and Tuesday of next week. Mick is called in. Good afternoon make. How are you? Hey, bud. Well, I'd be a lot better if I wasn't breathing methane, every other Every other inhalation. Well, don't breathe. Yeah, there's there's the example. There you go. If you get sick, die quick. Don't inhale, you know, Take the Clinton on. Inhale. Well, Yeah, well, I'm sorry. I'm not going to compare that one too. This one. Okay? I'm sorry. That's that's a bit of a stretch. You think it's a problem? I think Do I think it's a problem? Dude, I'm gynecologist. All right. I've studied this stuff for 45 years. You realize how tremendous the forcing gas Pressure of methane is on the atmosphere. No. This takes seat. And while it makes CEO to look like look like a juvenile, this is 42 times. And we have got and we have had Since the innovation of natural gas being scooped up out of oil wells. Nothing but leaks. Nothing but lakes. I've worked around these things half of my life. And all they do is lake you get within a half mile of a well and all you smell. Yeah, it's nothing. Yeah. Rotten eggs. Absolutely. You got it. Rotten eggs, and I'm sorry The industry can talk and lie and cajole and bribe and extort all they want. But they cannot. Why about the results of their lives, and that is that they don't give a darn. They've never given a darn. All they want to do is make money. Period. You know, the weird thing about it is I mean, and it's almost like I'm kind of being passive aggressive. You could make more money if he didn't waste it. Evident leak. You could make more money could make more money. Uh, manufacturing like like the well services companies up near as taken Bloomfield on the on the highway between between Bloomfield in Farmington if they just manufactured the stuff to contain it. Measure it and contain it. And recycle it back into the system. They could sell it make more money, make more revenue and not pollute. So I've never understood. You know, Mick, I talk all the time that I grew up in the four corners. My dad was an oil field guy. We'd be cruising out across and I say you know why they burning that off? What's the flame for Pops? And the answer was always the same was always shut up. I don't think he knew. I don't think he knew. I mean, you can drive now between Bloomfield in Farmington, out there in Aztec, Well, services and all those and the giant stories, tanks and you look at the pipe each and it's all Rust. Yep. Well, here's the point. The point is, is that capitalism allows The companies who practice it to be as lazy and inefficient as they like. Because they are quite simply a monopoly. I don't care whether they say they compete with each other. They don't know Pipelines only go in certain places. So their monopolies just like the electric people are monopolies, okay? And they're in bed with each other. They've always been in bed with each other, and they don't have to tell the truth. They don't have to be efficient. They don't have to be intelligence. They don't have to be honest. All they have to be is greedy. And you know what? It's just like recycling. Oh, gosh. It costs too much to recycle when we could make a tin can or glass jar or a plastic bottle cheaper than we can recycle. So we're going to do it because We've got a board of directors. And we've got a big, big big stockholders and we've got very, very, very important executives who know where all the bodies are buried, and we can't ever allow them to spill their guts. So we will do whatever it takes to keep the secrets in the black box. Well, that bills coming due now that bill is coming due. Well, it's coming on do but it's coming. Do 99 to 1 on us, and only one on them. All right. You have any sympathy for them? Heck, no, no, no, no, no. I mean, even the Rockefellers have started to invest from standard oil. Uh, company they found it so Yeah. But I'm you know, I'm sorry, my my statement. As a you know, Ecologist with 50 years of experience, do not believe one single word A for profit corporation tells you about anything. Anything. We'll just leave them alone. They'll take care of it. Do you trust to make early? Well? Yeah, I'm saying give me a bulldozer than I could walk in front of, especially with a corporate name emblazoned on the blade. All right. Appreciate you calling. Thank you, man. You bet they will. They will happy holidays. Or two for 12 60. Anything you want shot about whether methane or anything else find with Mi 505424 12 60 my email Is Richard at Santa fe dot com. Gotten emails like, Oh, my God, I thought it was from I thought it was from the pillow guy. I don't think it is. All right. So speaking of board of directors and profit and loss mixed Results on Wall Street today the Dow was down today 201 points. Got the pandemic packages today The Dow is already on down to a 1 to 30,000 and 15.5 the S and P was down today 7.5 to 38 80 36 87. Down 7.5 to 36 87. The NASDAQ was up today 65 points 12,808. "S history. Credit, everyone who's gotten up to has gotten us up to this point. Developing a vaccine is only One Herculean task. Distribute dated is another Herculean task. No and vaccines in a vial. Only work if they're injected into an arm of people, especially those most at risk. It should be one of the hardest, the most costly operational challenges in our nation's history. We need Congress to fully fund vaccine distribution to all corners of the country to everyone. I'm encouraged by the bipartisan efforts in Congress. Around $900 billion economic relief package. Which I've said is critical. This package is always start. Form or action early next year. You must also focus significant resources on direct public health response to covert 19. Our preliminary view of Trump Administration's vaccine distribution plans, confirms media reports. Without urgent action. By this Congress this month. Puts efficient resource is in the vaccine distribution and manufacturing. It's a bipartisan group was working on There's a real chance that after an early round of vaccinations, the effort will slow and stall. I'm a repeat. We need Congress to finish the bipartisan work underway now. Millions of Americans may wait months longer to get the vaccine. Much longer. And they otherwise would have to get wait to get the vaccine. Vaccination. Look Then we're going to need additional action next year. Have fun, the rest of the distribution efforts. Also need to Trump Administration Act now, though. Purchased the doses it has negotiated with Visor and Moderna. To work swiftly to scale manufacturing. The U. S populations and the world. This can be fixed. If it does, If it is fixed, my team will be able to get at least 100 million vaccinations done and my 1st 100 days. Third thing I'm gonna ask. 100 days. It should be a national priority to get our kids back into school and keep them in school. If Congress provides the funding we need to protect students, educators and staff. Of states and cities put strong public health measures in place. We all follow. Then my team will work to see that the majority of our schools can be open by the end of my 1st 100 days. That's right. Well, look to have the most schools open that we can't possibly in 100 days. Congress provides the funding We need. Not a secret. How to do it. Masking. Vaccinations opening schools. These are the three key goals for my 1st 100 days. We'll still have much to do in the year ahead and sadly. Much difficulty as well. Will be far far from done. Yet. It's possible after 100 days will be a much further along in the fight against this pandemic. I'm grateful to the members of my covert team. I'd like to introduce to you now who will lead the way? I'm really proud of this group. All right. So that is Joe Biden about an hour ago. That's more of a plan than we've had from the Trump administration. "35 minutes have three o'clock. I believe number one song. The year she graduated from high school or college, Dr Wendy Johnson. The year you were born. I'm sorry. You're way younger than the years you was born was good Love and by the young Rascals Doctor Winnie Johnson, La Familia Medical Center Medical director, How you been? Ivan. I've been okay. I've been hunkering down. You know, trying not contribute to the problem. So does that mean you do everything virtually from home clean. No, we do have well, yeah way try to do as much of a toll house as possible. You know, we do have and I do a lot of work from home for sure. But we are seeing patients in the clinic because you know people have people need blood drawn for their love. You know, Diabetics need tohave. Their conditions monitored. People with high blood pressure need to have their booker sure taken. You know, there's a lot of health care you really pretty hard to do by telehealth, especially when you have a problem. Patient population either uninsured or You know, it doesn't have access to the Internet were having that problem with the school now, you know. So a lot of our patients health not really an option for them, so you know. We do have to see some patients in clinic for sure. All right. And you guys provide primary care for people you provided. Deliver A lot of babies do pediatrics to geriatrics. La Familia Medical Center. All right, doctor, Winnie Johnson, Medical director. So, Dr Johnson, we just got the just got the e Mail from the governor's office with the latest numbers. I read the numbers earlier for the last six days. 3 16 for 26 3 87 48 4 86. To 69. And today it's another bad number is 389 new cases in New Mexico and 19 and Santa Fe County, and Ah Ah Ah, let's see. 915 deaths. I think that would mean four more. Ah, yeah, for additional desk today. Ah male in his seventies and Burnley out county A male in his sixties and going Ana County female in her 70 from Eddy County in a female in her eighties from Lincoln County, with exceptional leak and county burn, Leo Dhoni, Annie and Eddie or three the hottest counties in the state. Dona Ana County is I mean, that is last cruises Next Tio El Paso El Paso is a hot spot nationally, Dona Ana County 83 new cases. So you're going to Las Cruces, Goingto Los Cruces heads up. Well, don't go lost unless you really have Teo A B I My My neighbor actually does a job where she has to travel around the state and She said she was down there for the other day. And she was wearing a mask trying to do the right thing, and people were making fun of her and ridiculing wearing a mask. And she said the mask wearing was, you know, terrible down there. So in Las Cruces, very simple. He has very in Las Cruces. So we have very good evidence now. Very good evidence. There's ah, There's ah Morbidity and Mortality Weekly report. It's Ah, It's a national kind of magazine. If you will, It's kind of online thing. Put out by the CDC. But it's an analysis of Arizona and how Arizona made their cases go down and it really has to do with the mask wearing in the social distance and all that it has to do with all that. Riskiest things. You Khun Dio are there a lot of things we opened up our state. We started opening up the indoor restaurants and You know, And now with Halloween, we have the pumpkin patches and all that, and I know you know, we all wanna get back to normal and you are fun things, and I think there's just also Listening to the presentations. I listened for the department health It's like a lot of hot looks even work. Talk. What potlucks? You know, it's a lot of like they're tracing. It's a lot of family gatherings. It's people just kind of on their own. Getting tired, getting real tired of all this and starting to gather again, and that's what feeling spread, and I'm sorry, we just gotta we've really got to shut it down again. Dr Doctors, Grace brought up the potlucks and I think what he was talking about, he said. Do not eat at work. You know, In other words, don't bring in a potluck and everybody stood around the break room. And eat together at work. Ah, you consider your desk, You know, Bring your lunch, whatever. Ah instead of your desk, and I don't think he was You know, basically saying, you know, you can't eat a work, but it's not Don't do the potluck thing on the break room. Great, right. Exactly. That's going to be a big risk factor. Yeah. Okay. So with these kind of numbers, how long can the governor sustain what we have right now, with the current Health order. It expires on the 16th. Today's the 12, so that would be like Ah, maybe Friday would expire in Friday. Um Is she going to have to modify it in your opinion? What? That I bet he will. You know, she last the press conference last week was her basically threatening that her saying you got a week to get the numbers down, or we're gonna have to look it. Rolling back some of the things that we opened up. So I would be very surprised if the indoor dining stays if our numbers stay up. You know, between 3 50 above 400 this week. I would be really surprised. I mean, it's going to be hard and I know it's It's hard economically on folks, but You know, it's going to be harder economically. If these numbers continue to rise to this was predictable. I mean, we knew this was gonna happen. People listen to the doctors, people. Listen, Teo,.

"The mayor's concerned again when you look at Other cities and things that had happened, and that's why I initially made the move to take down some of the monuments. Some of statues and stuff around Santa Fe was because what happened in old town in Albuquerque, where man got shot? And so what happened over the weekend with competing protest in downtown Denver, where a man was shot to death? And the mayor seeing that and then you know, getting concerned about violence in Santa Fe around the obelisk and the holiday and all of that on he went down. He talked the protesters, and apparently police Department went down. Talk to protesters. They came down from the obelisk. Ah, it was settled, settled peacefully and then sew exchanging messages with the mayor around that today, and then he texted me and said, apparently, things that turned violent on the on the Plaza. Ah, so I checked with Catherine Liu in Santa Fe reported a reporter for the South Side and she was on the plaza and called in at two o'clock and said, No, Actually, the obelisk is down. Put the top part of the obelisk key part of the obelisk. The base is still there, which was the offending part because of the savages message that was chiseled in original inscription. But the obelisk of the You know what an obelisk is? Ah, had been pulled down under the power of the people by ropes and chain had been pulled down. It was laying on on applause, and nobody heard anything like that. And she had seen though. Santa Fe police officers at all. So that's the latest from From our little little Santa Fe Plaza. Nice dance, Sanofi. The air quality's exceptional. It's in the green at the number one, which is as good as you could get on that scale. On Wall Street. "What we're induct about. Wind energy. Two o'clock American Wind week, Gen guard and Andy's talk about water in a water challenge in national water Challenge with Mayor Allen Webber and Neil Dentyne from the city of three and 3 30 today, Dr Wendy Johnson talked about what we've learned in the last week about Cove in 19 Two for 12 60. The phone number of the studio want calling and chat about anything. Best thing best time to do that is during a break. No longer have anybody dancing for me so Either have to be really patient. We're called during break. So yesterday morning on Fareed Zakaria show on CNN called GPS. No. You talked with Bill Gates and builds a little bit on the Fed. Upside. There's a lot of his art. With the lack Of national A national plan. Simply put. So here is Farid Zakaria on CNN, along with Bill Gates. And so those areas area became the second wave, not a rebound out of New York, New Jersey But instead those regions and so that's where Europe in the US Are quite different are testing of course to this day. Uh, it's mind blowing that because you can't get The federal government to improve the testing because they just want to say how great it is. You know, you know, I have said to them, look have a CDC website that prioritize who gets tested. Ah, that's trivial to do. They won't pay attention. And I've said don't reimburse any tests where the result goes back after three days, your pain billions of dollars. In this very inequitable way to get the most worthless test results of any country in the world, and you've created this incentive for the commercial guys have long lines because you do not. You just wanna waste government money You pay as much for the late result is the, uh the finely result. No other country has the testing insanity because they won't talk about fixing it because there You know, they think they need to just keep acting like they've done a competent job. So this seems to me to be the critical systemic problem that we have You look at Germany. They used the period of the lock down to then put in place. Ah, good testing regime, which you know, which is a rapid, which then has some tracing element. And we just have not been able to do this. Can you explain to people very simply? Why? A test result that comes back to you three days later, is almost worthless because you're really just testing whether somebody is go with that minute that second grade. Your period of infection. ISS fractiousness. Khun Start a couple days before you would feel the symptoms to seek out a test and extend to about four days after that's almost all of your infectiousness, so that value the task. Is that when you get that result that you're positive that then you quarantine yourself and you don't In fact, uh, members of your household or other people that you know. Is every day that goes by that peak of infectiousness is going down, down down and so by the third, even the third day, the value is, you know, maybe 20% of the time. Lee result. Now, you know, very wealthy people have access to these quick turnaround tester. They get ahead in line. Uh and they're getting more of those overall tests. And so You know, the one breakthrough we did the foundation get did get pushed through is that instead of a health provider, having to jam swab to the super back your nose that you could just Self administer at the tip of your nose, and that's equally accurate and doesn't risk infecting the other person, and it could speed up the activity. So at this point What could be done to really substantially change the trajectory in the United States. Well, the trajectory over time will go down because you know, we're learning that there some Protect him from earlier exposure to other krone viruses, and that's helping drive the numbers down. There's natural infection, particularly the people who move around a lot. They're disproportionately infected, and once they were covered, they're taken out of that. Transmission pool, And then the vaccine will come along maybe towards the end of the year, certainly within the first half of 2021 if the first vaccines that get chosen are good, a transmission blocking Will very quickly get up where the Multiplication rape instead of being a pub, Juan and growing exponentially. Will be below one and you'll you'll have diving number of cases and Just a few pockets left. So because of the innovation that therapeutics will cut the death rate in the vaccine will dramatically once we roll it out. It'll cut the infection rate. So you know, by the end of 2021 the US in terms of its own epidemic. Will largely be through it. But in the meantime, you know trillions of economic damage and hundreds of thousands of lives lost. All right. That's Bill Gates yesterday and GPS, CNN with Fareed Zakaria talking about therapeutics. The treatment. We're getting better at it much better at it. And we're combining drugs. Keep people live and not getting as sick. But Testing is ridiculous. The testing is indeed useless. Longer than three days. It's just a waste of money, and it is I guess a business cam is basically what he was saying. Because the government is spending billions of dollars in testing. For no reason at all. He's useless. Have you gotten tested? Why not? Gunnar told us all to get tested. 34 weeks ago, the governor said in here press conference. Everybody New Mexico get tested. So I did. All right. Go get tested because my governor told me to I went through website after website made multiple phone calls sat on hold forever. Where can I get tested? Oh, it was.
