"Yeah anybody that knows the shining it's there are iconic scenes that they almost certainly seen. At some point yeah. Right. The twins and then hitting the access, the door and everything. So I don't think he's spoiled their think it's pretty abundantly clear. Did you see ready player one did see ready player one and I was going to bring up another movie? Are we GONNA do it other podcasts? It's look it's look like that I kind of knew that this is going to happen but. Well, I'm fine with. No no ready player. One was fantastic and that whole like recreation of that of the like bathtub scene and everything else was pretty wild actually. Really Cool. Yeah I thought it was really good and I can't remember. I read the book way back in the day and I think that's in the book but. I for whatever reason doesn't pop into my head but I read that book will long long time ago. Well, then there's the other movie to bring up, which is Dr Sleep, which was directed by Mike Flanagan directed haunting of Hill House and haunting a blind manner and uses a bunch of the same actors from both of those. And it's interesting. I did not know that. So you know how you know the the woman who plays the the the mother in haunting uphill house in the storyteller and by manner. Yes. Okay. So she is the she's rose the hat in Doctor Sleep She's like the main bad person. And she knocks it out of the park. It's fantastic. So like you have to check that out, I have not seen doctor sleep yet and I've been wanting to watch him back to go back and watch the shining doctor sleep again for for anybody that's not clear and it's a sequel to the shining correct correct and I thought it for some reason I didn't know it was a book because it came out in the last twenty years like it's relatively recent. But I actually thought it was a movie that they wrote as a sequel. So I thought it was going to be terrible. Terrible like most right like most of the movies that are like that are exactly and I was so at first I was like, okay they're going to do a sequel to my favorite horror movie all of all time this is a bad idea and then I saw a trailer and I was like this looks pretty good and then at the end of the trailer said directed by Mike Flanagan and I had just finished finished watching haunting uphill house and I was like Oh my God this. Amazing. So it was it was great. It's a great movie actually..

"Rates name three horror movies featuring supernatural elements. Poltergeist Ghost. Boom Shaka locked. All right. What's our final tally? Know? How many millions of points to see threes six nine? This is where it gets fun. She you stop and start over again. In complete and we have. Does now. Painting. One For. Anyway. He's six, twenty, seven, twenty, eight, hundred point. Out of a possible three thousand, that's yeah. I feel good. I feel good. Solid Alad performance. Ever. Any do you WANNA stick around for our stream this segment. Terry I'd love to stream. This is where we talk about what we've been watching lately. I will go I very quickly. I finished the TV show dark finally third season. Have you seen it any now but I've been told I would love it. You probably would I would say the third season was. For a confusing show got really really confusing and kind of lost me a bit. not only in the confusion, but I think it lost a little bit of the soul of what I really enjoyed most about the show through seasons one or two. One and two, but it was good. It was a satisfying ending. I also watched doctor sleep the other night oh. Yeah. Yeah. You were non-plussed. I thought it was okay. I was a little bored I might have been distracted. It's It's pretty dense. Yeah, and I love this kind of ended up too fast forwarding to the shining stuff toward the end. Shut love that stuff I i. I actually felt the opposite way. I liked the first part of the movie better I felt like they were really trying too hard to shining it up a little bit at the end I like more of the back story and more of the I loved the casting. They did though the guy that plays the Scott van creditors character looks just like him the very brief snippet of Wendy of Kelly devolved God, what a crazy casting. Henry Thomas is Jack Nicholson shot exclusively in profile which is what really sold the effects. I. Loved it. I. Thought that was very clever. What did you think? Did you like that movie? Yes. It was one of the last movies I saw in before quarantine actually, and I saw at the plaza and there's that scene where they're in the plaza. That's right which is. Leno Yeah Yeah Yeah I've always said that the shining is the most different book to movie adaption. I've ever seen total and I feel like the doctor sleep is more of what Stephen. King. Actually. Had in mind so you read it yeah yeah. But most of his works are very confusing. Are there's a lot going on I. Don't know if confusing is the right word A. Kind of shock for people who loved the shining and then went into see Dr Sleep and it's just so different. But what you get over that. Yeah I enjoyed it. It just feels like a totally different thing shining. The movie I would have been more locked in the theater I think. Also, that dumb hat. Oh Yeah. The hat, the HAT lady. Rose the hat ruth the habits. Literally didn't like the hat, but that's literally the her Internet. In the book I I I appreciated the fact they didn't shy away from some pretty. UPSETTING torturing moments. Read one scene. Yeah. Don't ruin it but that I thought it was a little unnecessary. Let me rephrase. I'm to when I'm saying I'm not saying go thumbs up to child torture and moving it I'm not saying I'm saying that was absolutely in the book and they filmed it exactly as it was described in the book and I appreciated that because so often that's the kind of thing they would cut and I thought it was affecting. Really see the evil in these characters and really fear for their You know the people they were pitted against the. shiners whatever and then the last thing I watched lately that I posted about on the page was my octopus teacher, which is a wonderful wonderful wonderful documentary and every way. I. Really recommended for everyone hit emily I on a many many many different levels and it's just heartwarming and sad and uplifting and really really good stuff. Especially, if you're a fan of the octopus, which is anyone who listened stuff, you should know knows that's long been one of Josh and minds favourite animals so she. Knows, you got to watch it on Netflix Anyway you've been watching. Well, because it is October I have been watching well, why do I say that I watch horror movies all the time but I've been watching a lot of like my classics I've started my. Routine to list your about your list. Lists I have I have like thirty after watch you gotTA get move it. But in terms of like new things, I've been streaming. I did watch host, which is zoom based horror movie which I loved it. I. Loved it. I mean it's it's strange because it's during our covert times and they're making jokes about mask and stuff, and it has the zoom time limit that POPs up and that's part of the horror of it. 'cause you're like Oh God it's going to end this amount of time. I did really. Spooky looking like if you see behind me. What's going on? Like if a face pop into that window right now, that would be the scariest thing I could ever imagine. Yeah. It was really affecting in that way because now I do get near this on these things going, we're spooky closet. Anything could go on. Here. Yeah so I recommend that I've been dipping into the depths of the darkening is probably not far away from something. I'll watch now. So I also, I really liked climax, which is this French film. I don't know if I'd say it's horror, but it's unsettling about like these people who these dancers who are accidents take. LSD I guess somebody put something into punch. And they're in this isolated place and they. A kind of slowly lose their minds together and there's like murder. But there's like a forty minute dance seed I kid you and I was just watching. It stunned that this was happening and continuing to go on. That's right up my alley. I like weird. Like weird. Like time travel movies, I've discovered. I like puzzles putting together puzzles. Sure. You should watch dark then that's a puzzle oh good. Yeah. No I love weird like ooh. When did they have to be here time ways to do this? Watch dark it's German puzzled that will make your brain hurt. Excellence. And then I really I recently I watched which which I wouldn't say is good but I really enjoyed and it's sort of like the wolf where Wolf the game. But with witches and one of them is actually a witch and they're trying to eventually they realize that and they're trying to figure out which one is the witch. Boy You really trolling the depths of the tolls you I am I have seen things I never imagined I would have seen. No what about you? I started watching this show while back and drifted off for some reason I as I've been watching the rose I wasn't really paying attention but it made such noise at the emmys this year that I in. So many people into that I love Shits Creek the show with Eugene Levy and his son, and of course, Catherine O'Hara my favorites from the Christopher guest movies which I adore and I love it I love the characters. I think the timing is so wonderful and funny it's just it's such a good fish out of water story I. Don't know why I didn't grab onto it right away but for some reason I didn't but now I'm fully. Hooked and I. Shared it with my mom because we talked about this at the top of the show before he joined any, my mom is a kind of a retired diva opera singer. And she very much is Catherine O'Hara's character in in so many ways. So she very much enjoyed it as well. that one like I said, watch Gremlins to last night, which if you haven't yeah that one to your list. Meta as hell and absolutely bonkers and just a delight. Got It's got some really good Halloween Spooky of tie INS Christopher. Lee is entity plays a evil scientist and It's just the best what else? Oh, there's a really incredible. Think I'm supposed to Zam you know or recovering I'm recovering alcoholic I know great bad with this stuff. But that but that is like so central to like the horror and like the ways in which yielding to that demon can transform you in turn you into a monster. I found to be like. As we live in a time. "Have you seen hush? I man. I Love Hush. I love the concept film I still think the honing of Hill. House is his best is the best thing he's made, but Dr Slave is just. It's insane to me how you can make a fascinating shining sequel server belatedly like just so like. It's just so. It's so engaging from Saudi finished like the music the music and it's also that like Hot Baikonur. Like D- And it's just like man like he's walking the fucking look, it's just like the overlook is the is the weakest part of the movie at. The poverty the. Like the whole two and a half hours before that is set up with Danny. Sir, much more engaging because Danny himself as a character, trying to help this young girl, who also has the shine man I don't know it's tough to explain like like this had an effect on me and I came cirque close to giving this attempt. It's actually fucking Mazda phase. I'm probably going to give it a mind to be honest. 'cause like it does I think the rows does go on for a bit long. But I. Just think the way it's filmed. The white scored the way it's acted. There's really nothing negative that I can say about. This movie does just not. I'm sorry this is not like other than that. It's long, maybe a bit overlong. That's it, but it's just like it's dripping with just visual storytelling. I find it really interesting that say you and me pretty much. Every fortnight review films together and we often without talking beforehand ended up on very similar scores. Even when we come at it from completed Angolans like just then with. With your God I was negative than yet, and we were pretty much separated by one point but I feel like Dr Sleep is the only film where I just I respect your opinion, but disagreed on so many levels and I feel like there's so many on in the minority on this phone, because under the some cough Dr Slate, and like toddler respect and I can say why so many people would love this movie and I haven't seen the directors kind of ice in the theatrical, but like it really doesn't get me. "It was very you know L. Raila. Yeah he he was not happy with it at all. Oh even he said you know he bought now he he likes to film and he likes what they you know how the INC the shining with Dr Sleep because the books are totally different on both of them okay. The in what Mike Flanagan did was is that he took in the book. The shining the overlook burns down at the end so what he did with Dr Snake Doctor. Sleep so he took the ending. You know that was supposed to happening in shining and put it into doctor sleep okay okay. And that's he's Kinda like tied everything up to go okay. This is the ending that everyone was waiting for you get. It didn't have that they never got. Yeah Gotcha so as okay. That's cool that's really cool like no I just you know it just watching. Both films really made me appreciate the shining even more her. So that's when and that's why I watch the director's cut which is a little longer. And for the life of me I can't tell what was added But it just seemed to flow a lot better in the director's cut than it did. Okay and the other one. So I don't know I would check out the director's cut If you'RE GONNA watch doctor sleep which I have not I have just watch the regular. If if it is available I would watch it. It's interesting do you own it? Is that how you watch? The dodgers were have the digital version and it comes with office cut okay so sometimes digital versions have all the versions of the film which is cool. Gotcha so cool man. Yes yes yes so. I'm so glad they did Dr Sleep. It's good yeah so good and I just I love shining. It's I'm sure a lot of our listeners have seen it and I sure they will take just excited that in doctor sleep they they They really made to thirty-seven the room to thirty seven. Really Scary yes. They they sent me a lot with the shining was as that. Yeah it's it's it's Kinda creepy. But they didn't have the lighting and all that but that's not really Kubrick style. No his style was is like okay. It's all Brighton and there's bad things happening. That's interesting But like Mike Flanagan tour turned it around. And when you get into to thirty seven in these shots and you see the the lady peaking around the the shower curtain is like well it's creepy. That's how the book is. That's the came stuff that the book has so. I was happy that that was in Dr. Sleep at least sure so it was. It was satisfying to go. Okay all the stuff that I was not happy with the shining the show in Dr Sleep so it kind of like mix it all work. Yeah absolutely that's why I was really happy. Yeah I just. I'm so glad they did that. Nine Doctors Dr Sleepless great even McGregor. Everybody was great. Yeah I just really. Diana liked that my wife loved the to she were..

"Right here. See I'M GONNA go ahead and get into some parts later guide. You know the magic what they showed that box office receipts needle almost of toilet paper shooting. Who Admires that? They play the song they had nothing to do with. The movie are really too much. I think that they didn't they didn't push story teaser. Trailer by this point where you know the I think it was a little confusing for. People are from the front of the beginning. They had the right point man later on with the with the other trailers. The famous should've got people from the beginning. You could even sold the like shoot. People are saying is a remake the shining. You know you'd you're doing a sequel. Two decades old movie but they played that music that music would have brought people in this Muir Sir starts music. Do I used. Should somebody with these more and these that used to be in the mood. Think oh I'm going to see a psychological horror movie which is not what Dr Sleep saying in it would have been kind of. It's more that's a bit of a Bayton switch. I think so but they do it all the time and I think it would pull people in at least a bigger audience For people to see it you know. They're already trying to get people in for the shining. You know they're really sean people to shining images. They're showing overlook overlook hotel the the little bit creepy girl. Ghost ghost and whatnot. So just go all the fucking away with it man. You're not going to do it. I mean I mean for myself honestly. I think it's just that shines four years old and I just didn't think that didn't seem to be like excitement for a sequel. You know and again the program bring this up with the title that that really hurt a doctor. Sleep is a terrible title airport movie. I mean it makes sense for why they call them that in the film itself. It's like I get it but it yet the connection to the shining. What's what would what would you say is the shining to let blue? Maybe just called the overlook but even then people might even know the hotel name of the shine. I I think you have to have shying in the title. I honestly the overlook would've excited me more than Dr Sleep because Dr Sleep. I'm thinking of some movie like Dr Giggles. Yeah Yeah Yeah I mean. It's a low budget. Low Budget horror movie. That's almost tongue-in-cheek people. They know it really is and I'm not even GONNA joke. Psychologically bad I think you call a movie doctor sleep. People think that the movie's GonNa pump in the same boring drama or something. Yeah we're GONNA take a nap it just doesn't it doesn't grab you Dr Sleep. Wow it's really you WanNa put me choke hold you up to the movie you you pretty much. You either referenced. The location against the hotel in that case or ritual title. Man Fuck you. This is bad. "When I saw the original shining 'cause I read the book. I didn't I didn't like the film and here. And all. This, was originally now because the book is fantastic, the book scare the crap out of me in this is okay. This is the thing so many film I saw the film because it was Stanley. Kubrick and I'm like okay cool, Stanley Kubrick but Dan. Stanley Kubrick really isn't a horror filmmaker. And I felt that he didn't really create a lot of suspense. That could have been created. Okay in the film nothing okay. Now I've seen the movie. Several times and more times I've watched it the more I liked it. So. When Dr Sleep came about I started reading the book for Dr Sleep. And it really good book. If, you ever get a chance to read it. But when doctor came, I was like. Okay I gotta I gotTA. Check this out. And I love the film, but it was because it was a really good direct sequel to the shining sure, and it was Stephen King Shining not the book. Right. So, what are what were your thoughts on? Loved it I loved. Obviously, you need to see the shining right, you know. I mean that. That's a given And I, just I love the characters I thought everyb-. Everybody did great. I liked what they did with it I. Love the whole the shine part you know. I love all the tie ins and everything. I I really enjoyed it. Yeah, it held my. You know interests of suspenseful in an and there's also a director's cut and they haven't watched yet. It's an extra half an hour. Okay, but I don't watch it, but. I thought I thought Dr. Sleep kind of filled in a lot of blanks that shining was lacking. And you kind of understood more of what. You, know Danny. Turin's was really going through. Yeah, I agree. And and an can't remember her name for life. But the main girl? Yeah I. Know who you're talking about. Yeah, yeah, she was in. She was in. You're not talking about a little girl. You're no, no, no! The really good looking woman, yeah, the evil the evil one. Yeah, yeah, she was, she was interesting. Yes, she's good. She's been in a couple of movies. And I thought she was I thought she was fantastic. I didn't really see her playing a Bagai and pulled it off. Really well. Yeah, and I say now haven't seen her in anything else, so maybe I have, but I don't read well. She's in mission impossible I think it was rogue nation and she was okay. The motorcycle and Oh? She was kind of playing a bad guy in that, but she was a double agent, but she really wasn't a bag. Okay, okay, if you haven't seen that movie, check that one out. Okay but. I've only seen like the first mission. Impossible I I. Don't know well if you if you like. If you like action movies, you should watch from number three on because they're all okay on believable AIONO. Mall, I can't. Watch them all the time. I can't get enough of those films are so good. And and a lot of times Tom. Cruise is doing his own stunts which amazes me when I look at these. Crazy the crazy. He is absolutely nuts, just like the the new top gun movie that's coming out. He was actually looking for all those actors were really flying fighter jets and they had cameras in the cockpit. Oh Mike, and they're doing the these turns in almost passing out. You know from the g force Oh my God. They had this making of a video. I can probably find it on Youtube. Interesting I'm like. Okay whether or not you like Tom Cruise as a person or whatever you know, politics actor, but as an actor in okay. As an actor I thought he was fantastic. Okay I'll have to. I'll have to check him out I just. I'm just you know I in the my little zone of suspense thrillers. It's hard to Oh. No I totally understand, but you ever get a chance if you go from. number three on. I was number two I mean it's good. It's alright, but okay number three on. It's really good, it's how many are there? I think there's. Six dollars. In total. While? They're just a thrill minute. I mean just amazing movies. Not to get off a horror films, but that was yeah. It's all good. Yeah, so yeah, so Dr Sleep I would recommend it. Yeah I I loved it was great. there. You Go. Yeah, my wife's a huge Stephen King Fan, so she's I all my guess, she was just. Gone in for that movie, she couldn't wait to see it, so we saw together, so yeah, it was good. And I loved the shining so I loved yet it just that whole and when I saw that it was. A sequel and you know. I was I was sold just when I heard that so in and even Joe Joe Hill who is Stephen King's son. He's picked up the writing genes from Stephen. King because he's really good, too. Oh okay. He wrote S- There's a TV series on there I. Think we were talking about this at some other point, he, he wrote locking key, which is series on Netflix right now. I really. It has some horror elements to it, but it's kind of more of a fantasy. SCIFI I. DUNNo, how I can't really put it in any genre, but it's really. Really good series. Now he's also writing some comic books right now and he's got his own comic book line. Called Hill House comics or something like that. And there's this comic that he's writing right now. It's called basket full heads in moot in the car in the comic book is just out of the swirl it is. Unbelievable because this. This this. Axe. When you chop off someone's head they they're still conscience, and they're still breathing and living, but they don't have their bodies attached, so they're all going, but they can't do anything because they're. You know they don't have a body. Now. This lady is picking up all these heads and put them into a basket. And they're all connected to this one murder that happened and she's trying to find out. WHO's the real murderer, really interesting story, but. Why does the? Why does the name reanimator come to my mind but anyway? Oh Man, I know I don't I. Just see his head on that exactly. Exactly. So. But Yeah like like the last time I was talking about store Gordon in the passing of Stuart Gordon. Suzanne? That was very sad. A hand if you know if if anybody out there has not seen reanimator, you need to see it to all my guys like Oh Jeez just a cult classic. El My God. Yeah, so I think I think didn't he? Do Movie he did Pilon HP lovecraft did a lot of HP lovecraft he did from beyond gay. Gone Hagen and he did they gun. Yeah Castle Freak. Done a whole.

"Of stuff going there. You can donate if you want all that fun stuff. See photos of us. You know if you haven't yet we can move onto off their picks of the week now Henry. I think we should maybe give the floor to you because you have grown hansel unsold. Oh my God. That is my favorite movie. Yeah so this just came out a week ago we can happen to some of them like that too. And what what did you thank. Tell US 'cause neither of us have seen it yet. So Sesotho It lived up to well. Okay so like I built up all of this hype and then I was like Oh Henry. Don't hope that it's going to be the best thing ever. Because he might be disappointed and it like hit every point that I wanted it to and did everything that I expected and like nothing surprised me which normally would be upset about except they did everything so well well that I was like okay. Okay I respect you. I'm I'm glad that you did it so good right. The design is perfect. act like the shots. The cinematography the costumes sets the colors. The hair the sound the music. The score is so so good. I really WANNA buy it. Yeah by some guy named rob he did the whole thing. It's raw I feel like this up. Yes it was really excellent and they also made a lot of references to great official. It is just rob rob good for you. Raw One guy on the cello and that was it. The whole movie was so stripped down and minimal and I think that's what I loved because I'm I'm honestly over these like big bombastic away does have something quiet. It it is saying Dr Sleep would've added was less bombast store still got to pick up that directors. Cup Dying Yeah. I WANNA see the director's cut of midsummer. Because I have to. I don't know where it was in theaters for like a week. But yes so many references to like movie witches that I really love but in a good way I go to. Yeah yeah like there was some lines that were definitely referential to like the MGM Wizard of Oz. Shoe made Henry Smile Yes and I was Krige. Beautiful played.

"You. How did they know who the mole in here man? That was as leaks is. TMZ You you find that out the scoops so we thought it might be fun to go in and think of some potential directors. I like that for which was is your idea. That's like you tested me to see if I was stealing. Yes saw you looking at me. Take me when you put it up. I don't know I give you credit when you're actually in the room. Yeah otherwise I would take this. You give people credit but Nah man some directors out there who might be good for. Let me let me get straight radio. Who might be good to direct this movie who are able to capture both the element and also that trippy element that we were talking about the the bed testicle mystical even though some obvious choices out there because I do a few I thought of immediately sure I mean the one that Amelie comes to mind and direct one of my favorite movies and twenty nine thousand nine Mike Flanagan my flanagan okay? Let me go pull him up. My Flanagan Mike Flanagan. What the Mike Landing on most recently? The probably the most underrated film that no one saw this year the best or last year. The Best Stephen King adaptation came out last year. which was Dr Sleep sleep which was a sequel to the shining? I love that and funny enough like that. Movie actually has a lot of elements that you can also see in like doctor through strange like he does. A lot of weird trippy stuff with the shy new types of buildings and things people like floating being very. I mean if you want someone to copy the aesthetic especially the first doctor strange that Mike Flanagan the hunting appeal house hunting huge. Hit a net flix. Yeah he didn't one of my favorite kind of bottle thrillers. Hush a few years ago. He's a ton of movies even a sequel which was actually surprised. Great actually yeah. Yeah it was really starting rich. You could see a lot of those same kind of sticks. And all of his films. uh-huh yes so Dr. Sleep would keep hearing his underrated but definitely catches that kind of trippy. Har-.

"And kill each other and Al Catches on my list does not even there. You know what I mean. Yeah I have have not. I had more than four very eager volunteers to participant and none of them has to be an announcement because they understood what we're doing and they were Dowell. Have women understand understand that men getting blown is a little bit easier than men dealing with them getting eat now yes we have been dealing with that forever. Yeah imagine getting blown. Where if you get the answer? The wrong year relationship my end no five blowjobs on the way out partial incomplete none to completion blowjobs. You don't know me and you get dumped after jobs. Oh my God I definitely understand this. Oh I'm excited about. I've been wanting to do this for for a long time. uh-huh Yup yes we somebody one woman's GonNa really give a porn star blowjob and he's GonNa go not my girl because because I'm evil. I'm going to tell whoever goes after his partner. I'm going to say privately. I'm GonNa tell her whoever you go after. I want you to try to mimic her. So try to throw him off. Then who you get a blowjob from Selena in the next person tries to do the CEO of Cheryl's going after the girls I'm GonNa Tell Cheryl privately I'm GonNa say hey I want you try to whatever your normal moves are take him out. I want you to try to mimic check right before you okay. But so for example if one of the women not the girlfriend friend whether women gives a deep throat blowjob. The girlfriend better know how to do that. I think is what I'm doing. I love it and and so I'll probably do it with like two or three couples. I'll do like a same sex male couple on just easy. I don't have to put out much of listing. I can just say what it is because it's not too hard in New York excited. Find Dude Willna blow people but yeah so like mix up like the same sex novices sex couples see what we get a little bit of social experiment get two lesbians get it just a couple little different little different. I'm open I did have. I did have a lesbian couple. Reach out and then I told them I said that's not exactly I was looking for. You're a couple with a fallacy involved. I'm open let's talk. And then they when I said what the original idea was and I said I can. Let's see if we can figure something out here do you need. Yeah Yeah it's a little different logistically. Yeah do you have security also because the single people I had I had volunteers for were not volunteering to go down on Volvos. So Oh I see one is couple juicy. Enough in like whatever's going on in relationship that I want to switch everything up for it. They just ended up. Stop responding wanding but like I'm open to having that it just hasn't come up. Yeah what's your plan. If there's a fight yes end. I just finished my first level. Everyone Improv class. Just never say no heightened so this is this is a lot of fun. It's a lot of production but it's the kind of production that you're very very much into right and I you know me yelling at you aside. This seems like a lot of fun yell at you for the right reason. Why are are you so sad? Such a sad boy. Yeah so much fun what what is fun to you this that were not this too except for the yelling. Part a little bit the yelling part Mas matric more. It's okay Why not I know it comes from a place of love does it? What what are words? Gluco love thank. You know that's fine but going on. Let's talk about your sadness. Oh Yeah I. I don't know since I turned thirty or a little before that I'd just been like inexplicably sad and in therapy. I'm yeah I'm in a group therapy. What did I? What kind of group saw? Its men men in their twenties just turned thirty but yeah okay so I've been doing that for like a year and a half. Has that helped. I think so and minimum allows me to talk with other men my age about intimate topics. Because I don't get along too well with other men people he's planning and why don't you get along with other men. I probably don't trust them because they were the ones who believe me for so long And how are these dudes to. You is good. It's just like I have to kind of re learn relearn how to trust US men. Are you being really honest when you speak in front of the group and did they have interns. Let's to And no not to my knowledge. Okay yeah no definitely very honest. Do you cry openly in front of everyone. Yeah I cry openly in front of anyone. How how many times times a week do cry less often now? I don't know it depends on we times. I'm watching movies. Line to leak depends on my movie watching schedule. Yeah wants to five times sure okay. What's I'm asking? What's the last movie you credit that man? I'd have to look at my. Oh I don't know if it was the last one but blinded by the light was recent. Okay that was. That's Bruce springsteen one right okay. The IT'S A it's a Paki kid in eighties UK. And he discovers Bruce Springsteen and loves it and it's like counterculture to families that is really inspirational moved. I'll tell you crazy wasted your time. Dr Dr Dr Sleep did you cry at. Did you watch the joke. Did you quiet that I did not. I was a sin. They're trying to figure out like so. What's the the point? What are we trying to say here? Also I was expecting way more death in that movie then there was with all the fuck in misreporting about that movie. I was like aw Shit Shit must have a kill a kill count. What like maybe a dozen people die in that I did? I disappointed IVA theory that the studio went on read read it and said I'm we're going to go out and shoot people up. I think they started the hype. Do you really think that I do. Yeah do you think that's why it died after the whole rumor. Yeah Keith. Are you answering on the sleeve. I know yeah okay. Yeah I believe that key came into your all male group. Would you stop talking immediately but not so to kick him out. I would shut up because I don't want to be the target but I would sit there and just like I'm ready to get some popcorn and be like like I'm ready to watch what he's about to do to these poor boys. I'd ask them if they want to start an orgy. Do are all guys similar to Keith. or I I wonder if any of them listened to this show win dapi interest. 'cause we're not allowed to talk to each other outside the group Like so now. We're not allowed to like message each other private. I believe email billy people stuff they just told you facebook friends. Sorry we can't communicate ever go to brunch every Sunday for their own actually separate group a nice rule what to stop you guys from Gossiping or taking the information outside for like relationships to develop that could 'cause like power imbalances within the the group like there are two dudes who knew each other before the group and they ended up in it by accident. So there's already that friendship that they had and they wanted to prevent like anything. Where maybe potential ganging up on or Let's just looks like you guys have stuff like that. I like I like the role. And it's it you know it's got its pluses and minuses. Do I want to hit up for networking things. I'll have to wait for him to leave the group to good bothering me with your job. I'm here also imagine there was another comic and it's just like trying to get on each other shows. Yeah Yeah and then like in like we have to waste a whole session. Why didn't Derek Book me on your show? It just why do you keep is on the masculine spectrum too much thank you correct way too much. When's wants to stick suck and show when you have it scheduled? I'm still trying to get the cup. I have all the single volunteers. I'm just trying to find the right. I've had a lot of couples reach out some who already knew what we were doing. And there were two enthusiastic and then we lower the tuned to death because like their swingers as a nominee polly. And I'm like and that's the thing we can do that they're just there are no stakes and then it's literally just a dude and then it would just be a do GAM blown win. There's nine at least there's some stakes involved whether there's distrust in a relationship. Maybe someone achieved in the past. Maybe I had one couple where sh who applied. I haven't heard back from but like she cheated awhile back. He has not. He would like to do this. Obviously and it'll be interesting to the interview portions before and after that's a great couple accepting them I mean hopefully. I'm waiting to hear back alarm number gang that craigslist posting. And then I send them the actual fully. Here's what we're doing. There's some Dick Sucking doc involved in this. What kind of questions are you asking them? it depends on what their response is based off their responses to the strength and weaknesses. That's GonNa that's a big wave like what I'm navigating. You don't have any questions that you're going to ask. Generally everybody will. It's all it's gonNA depend on who the couple is. I think okay. I just started to kind of tailor it and respond and like in the moment and connect. You said they're not gonNA finish but if they do. Is there trouble. I mean I do. That's going to be part of like kind of the prescreening or like the preparation and talking about that dude. Two minutes is a long time that a ten minute blowjob. It's two minutes. Yeah beans person. Yeah Yeah but then remember that like I'm talking to him during it and I feel like that will be a little bit distracted all right. Yeah yeah that's blown a little bit. Yeah so long. He's got like some sort of blood flow. He'll be alright. You'll feel it but we be upset. If a contestant does you to shut up like I think it'd be hilarious. Funny Are you joining in no because you're poly in your business number one that's overall. You're so busy but when I said WHO's GonNa eat the women you're like me if all they want. I don't know I don't I'm not offering it. I'm not like saying. Hey when by the way stay afterwards. I'm going to eat a bunch of box if you want. "The weirdest part is about the shining about Dr Sleep which was Kinda. Why what spurred all this yeah is like Stephen King wrote that book because you know he he hated the shining data but in watching the trailer it it totally negates. Is it because the overlook still exist that go back to the overlook in the movie right yeah so it's like totally not it's. It's a sequel to the movie. Yes really kind of like it's fun to outcome. You've gotta be kidding me. I just saw the latest trailer cycle movie where they show the whole movie. It is like so much like Stanley daily Kubrick's. The shining is amazing right everyone right. Hey that movie was great to see it. Not to China is exactly yeah so it it really is. It's really tied to the Kubrick. Yeah I mean I just I don't see how you don't I agree totally agree and hoping for a surprise Cameo Jack Nicholson with the bullet chilly God yeah to me. I'm a ghost of a huge fat ghost trek. Ar Fifteen don't be suffering raspberry juice and I talked to my Nazi Father Afterlife and he said we're gonNA abandoned there too. I know we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA. We're going to get back to cigarettes folks. A fat cigarette had such a bad dream. It was a Muslim Pearson vaping. Keeping homer realizes call. Dr Sleep over realizes the beer the beer and the TV is there. He goes crazy immediately which is very funny also get the blood gets on the second floor. which I think is usually so homer former he freaks out and he leaves? I'M GONNA go check like the the the tool shed for the sharp objects or whatever Oh no he goes. I'M GONNA go check out that acts collection and Lisa's like mom is he. GonNa kill us and my favorite line of this whole thing is like we're just GonNa have to wait and see. This is so awesome because it's just such a marge thing. Oh my God I really truly love that joke and it's almost like that like you should have left early Yup. Ah Yeah totally yeah so he goes into the ballroom and it's of course Moas the bartender and he's like Oh okay now. GimMe Beard no not unless you kill your family well. That's the funny thing is the speed of it actually makes it much funnier. Everything 'cause bartender dance dance around and we're not talking about the previous caretaker. It's like I. It's so transparent. I will give you this beer once you kill your nine until you a waste your fam- waste race. That's the what does he say waste fucking. It's just like we're instantly at the typewriter. Secrets like what he's typed will be a window window and do his bad days. I thought feeling fine would make for good tattoo actually actually feeling fine security minded careers in the courier typewriter font yeah so then like the lightning strikes and it's no TV no beer macomer. Go crazy all over the wall. You you know which is one of the more famous parts of this well. I mean I didn't see the shining until I was like you know maybe nineteen or twenty right. You're scared I was the scared of it but like I'd seen this so much that informed when I watched the shining way kind of I think I saw them out of order also but it wasn't like far off thought the shining when I was a kid certain like pop culture things that you feel like you're born knowing like there was such things things that it just permeates. "I know you're, you're a fan of this book as well. So I just wanted to sort of open up the floor to you guys. And have you talked a little bit about your feelings about this trailer reactions to it before we get into this QNA audio so Jacob let's start with you. What did you think about this trailer? For those of you don't know, Dr sleep is a sequel to the. Dining written by Stephen King. And what makes this trailer really interesting? Is that Stephen king's book of the shining, ends very differently than the film version, the China Cuba directed in that at the end of Stephen king's book over the Kotel burns, down, at the end of movie, it does not and assisted the tip of the iceberg of differences. There are massive sweeping differences beyond that. So when it comes time to adapt doctor sleep red writer. Mike Flanagan has seems to have made a sequel to the Kubrick film. He sees me borrowing from it. They recreated sets that you can see in a trailer from the cubic movie, and this is fascinating to me, because king famously does not like that patient and thinks it misses the point of his book, and there's always clashes this day over kingdom for his Kubrick. So I really like both the book of the shining and the film. You know the very different beasts. So I'm very curious to see how or if Flanagan compromise between them. But Chris, you actually you actually don't like the book sleep. I think it's fine. But so how trail look to you, as somebody who does not like the source material. Yeah. I, I part of me is tended to finally go back and reread doctor sleep, I probably will before the film comes out just because I'm curious see how I feel about it now. But when when the book came out, I read it, and I was not that big of a fan of it, even though I'm a big fan of Stephen King. And I loved the shining, both the book and the film. So I was lightly cautious about this whole endeavor because I was just worried. It wouldn't turn out that well, and I was also very curious to see how Mike Flanagan was going to handle those discrepancies between Kubrick's film and king's novel but based on this trailer. I am I'm sold. The trailer is very effective. I love the re-creations play. Lanigan is doing here. I will say, I'm a little disappointed, the whole film, has this sort of, like Palu filter that seemingly every movie must have nowadays because your regional shining. Obviously does not have that. And while I don't want this to look exactly like the original shining, you know, I wanted to have its own personality, its a little jarring to see Kubrick's shots recreated. So exact except for the color palette, like it's this weird sort of. Just throws things off just a little bit. If you ask me, but beyond that, I I'm really impressive with. I see I love that planning is at Dopp tting Kubrick's, one point perspective shooting, which is, it's very symmetrical shot where the main character is usually in the center of the frame thing that Kubrick does in a lot of his movies, especially in the shining. I thought that was a really nice touch that Flanagan seems to be doing a lot of that in at least this trailer. The casting looks pretty great a can't really get a read on how you McGregor play the character based on this trailer because he doesn't really talk a lot. But I you know, he's a good actor. I think he'll, he'll do his best. I was really impressed with Rebecca Ferguson in his trailer because she looks to be really savoring her villainous role she's playing here. So I think she's going to be fun and just overall. I just think this looks really promising in my big question for both of you, which is that Santa Kubrick has no faith in humanity. But Mike Flanagan issues and other work like hung up hill. House does and very fundamentally different viewpoints, on with horror and human beings. How do you how do you think they're going to compromise? Or do you do, do you think they will? Yeah..
