"Can invest in the right boxes. The right mailing programs. You know, the postage everything we needed to make that work. So we are executing slightly different, but it is still within the core mission of our work. Mom. That is so important, But I'm also curious to know where you're getting the clothes. I mean, in schools. It's one thing, but now that you're dealing with this remote program as well, where are all these clothes coming from? Isn't that the most amazing part? You know, a very community centric. That's why you know, when you think about it. We are accessing free space in schools. We have volunteer based organization and we collect new and gently is close from the community. So what we encourage through company drives organization. Dr. School drives you know, just individuals is Please consider donating your no longer needed gently used clothing to Katie's closet. I know there are lots of options out there. There's a big yellow bins and all kinds of bins. But what I can guarantee you a case because it is what you donate is given free of charge right in your own community, right? And you know the school systems and these kids within the community. So pre pandemic. I mean, people were dropping off her clothing and running drive all the time. And we have, you know a terrific virtual host Dr Options. Um our clothing donations were always about the same as pre pandemic and through pandemic. We have a, you know, socially distance way of doing for their bins outside of our doors on our distribution centers. You can drop them off and drive away and not come in contact with anyone. We have ring doorbells. We see it coming all the time. We go in and get it after you know, they walk away. But what happened? You know, even more over the course of these six months is the need has doubled and tripled. So we proud of posts actually, at the end of October about our shell sitting empty and we really needed support. And I can't even tell you. The clothing kept being dropped off in droves. But as soon as it's coming, it's turning around and going back out. So I can't even get you know. Take my foot off the pedal. We have to keep moving forward and keep collecting this also getting financial donations and we turn around. We purchase that. Um, through organizations are companies that we set ourselves up as a buyer. So we only give new full size toiletries and new underwear and socks and For the uniform code. Kids in Boston and Lawrence in Springfield. In Holyoke. We provide brand new uniforms. So we're purchasing this at cost. Basically, and Saul financial donations, turn around and go into purchasing what we don't get. Donated by the key When kids are pretty self conscious at that age, I think when it comes to their appearance and keeping them clothes is important, But I think keeping on trend is a pretty nice perk, too. So I think people should keep that in mind when they're bringing this clothing in. I thank you exclamation planes. I spent my career in retail most multi recently vice President for coal for that my whole life in retail, and that is a big part of what we do with very fashion centric. The reason why we open closets in school with more students economically disadvantages of that reason to turn the product to make sure it's going to stay on trend. So it is important if I don't donate my clothes because no no child left where what I have. So you know, we're pre K through 12th grade, so he definitely take care. That it is something four year old through a 20 year old would wear And you know that that doesn't incorporate a lot of adult holding two because our high school is basically where don't close, but Styles that would be you know, that would make them feel proud and sitting with their peers and plus size, too. I mean, there's a lot of kids who are plus size right now we have to keep that in mind as well. I swear for anyone listening. We did not have a conversation before. This covers Asia. Now you are hitting every single. But Nichols just you know, Obesity is a tremendous challenge for for those that are disadvantage. They don't have access to the right food so they don't necessarily have access to all the tools they need to stay in shape. I mean, it wouldn't be unusual to see 1/4 grader wearing a Benz five X Or girls that you know, just basically sized out of their pair group. So yes, exercises is really important, even plus size kids clothes. Um, you know, it's out there. And if anyone has access to that we would be thrilled. And when it comes to the toiletries, too, you know, I'm trying to think in the mind of a teenager, teenage girls like to do their hair and do their makeup. Teenage boys love the axe body spray sometimes way too much of it. You know things like that If you can get those toiletries and make these kids happy, too. I mean, obviously, these families will take whatever they can get. But we have to. I think it's important to touch into that humanity as well. Again. You know you're so right. The reason why we give new full size toiletries because you know we could try like the hotel Mini for other things that you might get. And it's really, you know, unproductive not only of those bottles very flimsy and they break and kids backpacks or what they need to do. They just don't last. We know every child we're helping. We're helping their siblings and their family. It's never one they will take what they need, you know, to bring home and bring that dignity to everyone in the family. It's funny because you know, we we found a case closet on the promise of leveling the playing field. And and, you know, giving everyone a hand up instead of a hand out and helping them feel like they fit in and feel valued and you know, when, with with Emphasis on culture and traditions being so high right now. We did a double take. We asked our school partners. Are we doing everything we need in our closets? Three offer everything we we can possibly do for our kids. And then they started talking about different hair products, and they said You know, Ethnic hair product is really important because they need different traditions and different, you know, product and I was like, Oh, my God. I never thought of that. Are you kidding? So now we're you know, trying to get those at it into our assortment so that we can do that. And your 100% right to get a hair elastics to get a Borat. You know, to get something else taken Dio when When people do donate that we turned it around, and it is like Christmas. I mean, those are the notes that we would get. Sometimes we get, you know new makeup. That might have been an Overstock in the store. And when we do pass those things on the kids, you know, really feel like a million bucks. Or even just some hats, you know, or some fun. Jewelry doesn't even have to be all that expensive. 5 $10 Goto go to the mall, Good eclairs or something and described a few or target or whatever. I mean, it's those little things that make kids feel like they get to express themselves a little bit more, too. Exactly. You know, Katie's closet lets me be me and that is, you know our handle. We give handbags. We have fashion star. We have honestly, winter scars from hats and mittens and coats and everything. These kids need to be boots. Oh, Lord, Here we are in New England. And you think you know it would take a miracle to get enough boots for all of our kids, But we do our closets, especially our high school closet. Are filled with all of that sizzle. I would call it all of those extra things that, you know. Put an extra step. Um, jump in their staff. If they're walking down the hall, So yes. We We take all fashion accessories and pass it along to our kids as well. So I'd like to know a little bit more about what the criteria are. When you choose a school, you service so many schools around Massachusetts and New Hampshire when you're opening up a new closet in normal.

Nut zippers song called hell who've had to come out of hiatus because of our show because we play the song whenever we talk about. That's true. Which was really weird. I mean, okay. Think about this. Katie I'm in Switzerland this summer for my son's, wedding and were in. I can't remember what city were in. But there's this plaza. And there's kind of like this. It looks like a band of vagabonds, although you can't really be. You're not really a vagabond in Switzerland that allow it, but they're just they're sorta like young hippie looking type kids, you know, and they've got all these crazy instruments, and I walk up and watching them, and no sooner did a walk up and they start playing the song. Hell, oh, that's so cool. Wow. That's pretty fun. And I'm thinking, oh, this is interesting. And I said squirrel that zippers. And they looked at me like, whoa. The one guy one guy. He's right here. That is so cool. All these Germans are. They had no idea. What's going on? I love it. But the hoopla band. Bolton Bolton boughten potent Poten, just in the vein of the squirrel nut zippers to let you know two of their brand new Christmas songs from their album, mardi gras for Christmas are released today. Yeah. No, actually, there was no tumor. And this woman needlessly lost a kidney. Now, I'm guessing there's going to be a huge lawsuit here, I'm assuming here's lawsuit. Look at this this photograph of the of the doctor. He's got a big smile. His face looks like a happy surgeon happy. Yeah. It looks really exciting to start removing organs is what he looks like my guess is though it would seem to be if you're an orthopedic surgeon. And you're operating on a woman's back. And you think that there is a this is okay, folks. It's twenty eighteen okay. You're in the United States of America. You're an orthopedic surgeon, and you notice what is this is tour by gosh. "And doesn't get diverted somewhere else because part of the problem in Indiana. And I had I gotta dig up the the numbers in the data for every dollar the sent to or to a school district when easily fifty sixty percents get eaten up by administrative costs. Something is not something isn't right and something is working here. Now once again, I'm back to the flip side of all this Bill. Do you consider a school bus driver? Not necessarily a teacher. But does the school bus drivers having to do with education? Well, yeah. Because it's getting to school now. Well, how about the school bus monitor? Well, the school bus driver can't sit there and police thirty children and still try Dr school bus to school. So that's to me. That's where the problem, and the issue is is going to be which is how do we define what is in a school district and someone something someone directly related to the education of children versus support staff. If I had my druthers, I ran a school district. For example, all my janitorial stuff outsource, bam. We'll just hire a cleaning company to come in here. All the HR stuff. Outsource because that is not go directly to the direct education of children now teachers teachers aids. Yes, it does. Let's figure out how we can get how we can get more money. And then the other thing too. You also got to think about Indian. I this something a lot of people don't like maybe it's time look at some of these smaller school districts and start thinking about consolidating at least the administrative functions because jokingly say, well, there are more people in my senior high school classes Kogyo than in an entire school districts. Maybe maybe we're not using the most efficient use of our resources. Rod kindle dual in for the chicks one other thing that that has popped up, and I want you to delve into this a little bit is that the Democrats came out and said we want to impeach Curtis hill is that possible. Can they actually impeach Curtis L? And how would they do it? Here's my question. Impeach Curtis hill for what what would they impeach him for because if my memory serves me correctly in the state of Indiana, you can only impeach an elected official for like nor crime negligence or failure to do do their job. So okay. How does that? What? What crime? Did he commit? None. None. Because there is no crime. And then the other thing that people need to remember because folksy going back to the special prosecutor's report, sending a special prosecutor said that the attorney general committed a crime. No, he did not say that.

That's terrifying. I was very surprised said if I pay for ticket, would you see my dad? Who might that my dad? Now what you could have. Day. You say daddy, I shut this down. Yeah. Yeah, I throw up on Mike and then we have to deal with that. My dad rates to my brother. This is five years ago. Some we're not getting along or you on drugs. My brother tired of dealing with the stupidity writes, yes, in the sense that they haven't talked since really. So I say, I want them willing to fly you down if you're into it. And I thought maybe he debate about it or say, no, he goes, yeah. Okay. How's it? Well, yeah. I mean, if you had, I make up these stories about talking about this new article that came out and I'm paying for a ticket. Fuck. I just I don't pay for your ticket, your defendant hit rate. I just want animations of all Keith stories. So you went to priests school. Is that right? Just weird time. This visit. We happen to be off. This visit is coming right after this article came out. It's just bad timing. If I was going to see my dad that worked for Smith and Wesson a week after there was another school shooting. Okay. Maybe not his fault technically. But yeah, there might be some tension..

"With. Rasa Kaye they are, the word some people dread back to school time to start spending on clothes. And supplies and this year parents are expected to spend more than three hundred dollars per child as Alessandria Melita of marketwatch, tells us there are some places where you can get tax. Free merchandise why have as many as sixteen states eliminated, state taxes Mary sixteen states that are participating in tax holidays and it could be as short as a weekend or as long as an entire week where they're giving parents a little bit of. A break so if you are back to school shopping district little bit earlier had been than some may consider the north and you could get You could get as many as. You want but it has? To be under a certain threshold and then you'll get get tax free discount is. This a movement that's spreading it used to be just. A few states that, were doing this right yeah so I mean I think it's become pretty common. And all participate in it but that's also because you know every state is different so there are some states where they, just don't have sales tax on anything so this isn't an. Issue and then there are some states where they do, have sales tax for most things but the items that you would typically buy for back to school clothing are so where they they don't or they have limited taxes on they charged women at. Taxes on them Alexandra how do retailers perceive this is this something they push for to help them boost their bottom line of it Well I think everybody is just taking a different approach to Dr school, shopping so some companies are pushing back to school shopping earlier and it might not necessarily be. Because of this tax free shopping but just the fact that parents are looking to get really good, deals? Because. You can't spend, hundreds of dollars between books or general supplies and clothes and, things like that and it could, start as early as. Mid July for a lot of parents especially because Amazon prime day there was, research vessel jested about forty. Percent of prime day shoppers are actually buying school supplies we're speaking with Allesandro Melito, of marketwatch what are some of the typical deals in are they limited can you point to, any specifics for some deals I would say, well aside from this tax free shopping you. Couldn't do some comparison shopping? Online you could set up alerts and things like that are you could person suggested Using like? This kind of, gift, cards that could kind of help, you you know you you pay a. Certain amount that you get a little bit more. On the gift card and Things like. That but definitely comparison shop online it's not all about in store you could do you could get a lot of good deals. If you are just taking? A. Little bit, more time I think news recently came out that. Low income parents are more likely to apply for credit cards to, pay for school supplies is that a good idea no I mean. It's not, a good idea could be very risky you don't necessarily want, to have a balance on any credit cards and interest rates could be as high as thirty percent or more but unfortunately if their kids do need clothes or they do need supplies a lot of people are turning to credit cards as? One of the ways to, get there are, some, of, the, supplies, that schools require. Now involve computers and things that are more expensive or what kinds of supplies are we talking about. I would say, it's pretty it's pretty basic quick pens pencils notebooks things like that I don't know that also Schools require students to have tablets I mean obviously we live in a row now whereas our phones are very helpful for students doing their homework on the go but it seems like it's? Coming from all angles Allesandro, Melito of marketwatch, it's,.

"To buy car parts and more cars and forklifts than shit yeah yeah there there are there's a school you know dr school bus you can drive a big thresher some kind of big farm equipment looking fucking thing all the way down like little racing lawnmowers and so they've got races that are way more focused on you finishing the race and into the people long the way they've got a lot of figure eight tracks and they just do straight up have demolition derby like big bowl arena style stuff and so your car will have health and you'll you'll bang around into people and the car will take damage it does a lot of stuff that they still have physics these sandbox mode i don't know if that's still in there cool it was really like objects in there that might just be something that you download separately from steam as like next car game tech demo you know there might still be something on your steam list but i i haven't seen it in actual still really fun to do yeah wondering how they'd like implement that into that might still be there somewhere because at some point those those became separate execute on steam so i assume that that's a really hey ssume that still the case but i haven't checked at and so yeah you there's a progression there in terms of you you get points for completing events and unlock additional events and stuff like that it's pretty bare bones in terms of being traditional racing games online as well and getting online doing structured every stuff is fun you know it sounds like it flying everywhere yeah it's it looks very nice cars seem like extra brittle just emphasize all the destruction really well i mean it was stuff they bash up you know they you know you you break up the rear end of car real nice you know crinkles up the way it would and you know like the the front ends of those cars get very very very flat and towards the end of your car's life as you really get down to like critical damage it'll start popping stuff like you bet your left rim your radiator shot and stuff that in a i guess in a more simulation oriented destruction derby game would have a greater meaning but here it just doesn't it doesn't seem like it actually does anything i mean you're close to death at that point anyway a few more shots you're gonna be out of health and your car will blow up and respond depending on what mode urine or race will be over whatever it is and so part of me find myself wishing like oh i wish that like if i took a radiator shot that meant something but it kinda doesn't seem to so much how does wreck vest handle it's fake cars are these like direct analogy cars are they building from the ground up is it like a board you know taurus the added taurus no they close like when video games have fun with with riot what they do with their like analog they have names i don't i couldn't tell you any of them but they do have like rocket is one of them but like a lot of them just look like sedans of the sixties seventies eighties store stuff because their destruction derby cars so it's like here's this two door muscle car but it's it's already a little bit beat to shit like the end the body is not straight the everything is kinda crinkled on a lot of cool stripes yeah lot of american flag looking colors and spray painted numbers on the side doors not that i've seen but the doors are going to be welded shut on any kind of destruction anyway so it's never gonna never gonna see it yeah i i think that you can add it paint jobs on the cars and stuff like that but the ones that are baked into the game like look damn good in terms of just like here's a destruction derby car you're looking to go yet that's someone bought four kansas spray paint and raping fucking car yeah it's neat neither allowed there are a fair number of servers up and running with people playing it so it's reasonably populated right now and it's fun i think it's maybe a little it i think my excitement for it will be pretty short lived because you kind of get get it you get into.
