"Hey, we're feeling it today. We knew it was coming though. It was a mess. We could have been in Virginia. We could have been stuck on the highway for 24 hours. I know a lot of people ran out of gas. That is crazy, man, but that's the time of the year that we're here for. It's that time of year. Now, we've been feeling good. It was 50° for Christmas. Everybody was feeling good. Global warming all that stuff is good, but the flip side of the global warming is when the ice and all the other crazy stuff come because it's raining when it's supposed to be snowing. You call it global warming, I call it weather. Just call it weather. And in certain places in the country, you get four seasons of it and we're in it right now, but man, like it's just funny how yesterday you show me the baby cashmere. And today I was like, I need to be wrapped in that. If you missed the baby cashmere segment, I actually put it on my Instagram because it was that funny. And it was that real. And it was that luxurious, by the way. But it was truthful. Everybody that heard that the first time thought I was joking and baby cash, everybody talking about it. You ain't a baby cash. Yeah, you know what? There is such a thing. It's set it on the tag. It's like cutting hair of whatever the cashmere comes from. It's like cutting the hair with a young. You know what I'm saying? Good hair. We know that good hair before our hair gets coarse and we start dying it all the time. It's the good hair. Yeah, it's the good hair. Hey, 8 and 8 say ESPN 8 and 8 7 two 9 three 7 7 6 is the number if you want to be part of barnhart nation of the Dr Pepper call him live. What do you mean if you want to? You know you want to be part of the Bart hon nation of Dr Pepper Colin. We want you to be part of that. There's no doubt about that. ESPN nation is presented by Dr Pepper college football seasons here. Oh, it's bull season. The fans are hyped. We turn to glory fans about Dr Pepper the one fans deserve. We haven't talked much about that, but we will. The redemption tour, the redemption tour is coming. See, I'm in Alabama guy, but there's like a part of me that's sort of like underdog. Come on Kirby, smoking Kirby just get to that point, right? Where he just keeps running into the wall. Like how many times does Lucy gonna pull the football away from him? See, I tell you what. The perfect analogy of the perfect, would you compare dying with it? I don't know. I'm making it worse. The perfect movie that wraps up how curvy, smartest feeling. It's Friday, next Friday. Okay. When deebo gets out the car, pulls up on pops. Hit the hood of the car. Get out the car Craig. This is the rematch. You know what I'm saying? I'm tired of getting beat up by you. You knocked me out but I bet you I'm ready for you now. This is the rematch. Get out. Yeah, man. And there's no question. There's no question me being from Michigan. It is no question that these are the two best teams in the country because Cincinnati and Michigan was a joke sandwich. I mean, I was ready to get the hell up out of there. Like quarter one, I was like, nope, no chance. You know how you say you're supposed to say, you never supposed to say no chance, no chance. Listen, they kick Michigan ass so bad that heart boss is saying, hey man, the Oakland, the Raiders want me. You know what I'm saying? Because that's spoken hot up in there. I finally get past Ohio State, not you know what? No, I just sent me back to the Raiders. If there was ever a time to leave, it's the year that you finally beat, right? Beetle House state. You finally get to the college football playoff. You know, like that you have that. Now, obviously. A little leverage to us a little bit. He gave mad money back, right? But if there's a raiders, why wouldn't you? I tell you what, if you're the New York football giants, why wouldn't you? I mean, if that's the case, if you're going with Harbaugh, then what's wrong with Rex? They're the same people. They are. As far as attitude, toughness and stuff like that, they're the same people. Rex is just more on the defensive side and you can say, maybe his expertise is the quarterback. The offensive side. Yeah, they're the same people. I don't get why people have given up on Rex Ryan so much. And I know, listen, you can say I'm a Homer, but Rex isn't old. You know what I mean? If Jim Caldwell is getting his third shot, getting another opportunity and getting called by teams, while when you want a guy like Rex, when you see where the game is trending, we said that we thought that the game was trending to air in the ball out and all that stuff. Yeah. Who's the guys that we fear the most? These teams just running his football. Who's the ground and pound king? Rex Ryan. Who's the defense dragged out like right now the most dangerous team is Tennessee in Indianapolis and people think that, you know, San Francisco is a dangerous team. And by the way, how did Philadelphia turn their season around? Running the ball every damn time and not letting their young quarterback throw it at all? That's what it is, right? It's that same thing. I can have a young quarterback, so I'm not paying him a ton of money. And I could have him in a situation where if I have a great offensive line and I have running back, you don't even need great running back. Good ones, right? How fresh legs? Yeah. And isn't that something about the NFL? Like, you can have your Aaron Rodgers. You can have your Tom Brady's. You can have you Patrick Mahomes. Like that. Those guys, they're special. Yeah, you can't find them. You can't find them. But there's ten out of 32 of them. Yep. And then after that, it's a lot harder to win. So it's amazing to me how there's so much of that chase for the golden ticket quarterback when the other way to go when you don't have it. Look, Cleveland has that formula. They do. But they just don't do it enough. They have the two headed running back. They had the offensive line and instead and I can't get over that. We talked about it yesterday. How every time baker through the ball on Monday night, Peyton Manning looked like he was going to throw up in his mouth. It was like, oh, we're going to throw it again. Okay. Well, we're going to throw it again. He's a quarterback. They want to throw the football. These are these guys are dumb. But hey, like you say that about Rex and I do think that if you're an NFL team and you need a little spark. Yes. He's good for your market. He's obviously a good front man. He's really good at it. But it's also, I think the thing that hurts Rex is that he's become and I'm not going to, when I say he's become a character, I don't mean it in a negative way. It's just that there's a persona about him now. A person is loquacious, right? He's out there. Everybody wants their mute point type of guy that guy that's going to be monotone. There's going to be Bueller, Bueller, Bueller, Bueller. A little bit more sizzle tonight. It's going to fire up your team, which you know first. And your fanbase and your fan base fit, but also somebody that can put together a tremendous staff. He can call he can put together a great defensive staff. He's worked with Bill Callahan. He can go get a Bill Callahan to do your offensive line, give him a crap load of money. He's the offensive line coach for right now for Cleveland, right? So Rex has coached with some of the best minds that are around right now. He can put together a tremendous staff. I find that interesting, Mandy. What I was trying to say though is the thing that precedes him is the personality persona, the bombastic, you know, takes and reactions and all that stuff. And unfortunately, what we are for what we forget because it's been a bunch of years. Is that what you know, again, what you were just talking about is the network, the connections, the system, the belief, the understanding, the lineage, right? It's in his blood, all the things that are very important to coaching. A U coach a game and you're not going to get out coach. You're going to be prepared for everything. You have a defense for everything. You've seen almost everything, right? You have all that. And so that part of it, I think, gets overshadowed because all we really know now is the personality, right? The personality, but it's maybe just going to work against them, maybe not. Maybe there will be a team that finally says, hey, listen, I need a guy like this. Maybe there will be. Because we shall see. We know that. Let's look at the guys that have been hired in recent years, right? We look at the young guys, right? We look at the Zach Taylor if we look at the Joe judges, you know, it's been about 50 50 as far as them being ready for the moment, right? You know, the Matt nagy's guys that are ready to be able to lead men, right? Rex comes in no matter what with the level of credibility. Jim Caldwell comes into a room with a level of accountability and credibility, right? And so when you go out and you get one of these college coaches or these first time coaches, you spend about 5 months before the team even believes in them. And then you have to get to the season and see how he responds to adversity. Right now, Joe judge has a respondent to adversity well at all. You need somebody that's been there, that's been in the biggest market in the world and slung arrows because he came in and he threw a rock at the giant, right? He threw a giant ether rocket Goliath. The first day he threw a rocket Goliath, like we ain't here for that. And guess what? He went toe to toe with Goliath too, right? And listen, and we know at this point what he went to war with. The thing is, a lot of these job openings, they have something to offer to Rex, that he has never had. And that is a true franchise quarterback. If he goes to Rex goes to the Redskins. I'm sorry, if he goes to the Raiders. It's the best quarterback Rex has ever had. If he goes to who else has an opening, if he goes, he goes to Jacksonville. Best quarterback he's ever had. Like he's never had what we would consider a franchise quarterback. He had Tyrod Taylor in Buffalo. How about Minnesota? Minnesota, that would be the how about Minnesota? That would be the best man. Could you imagine what he would do to those with those defensive weapons that he has? With a rented game, like Dalvin cook yeah. What? Dalvin cook, Dalvin cook Thomas Jones. Thomas Jones is a great running back. A good running back, right? Dalvin cook is more special than Thomas Jones. Man, come on, son. Come on, you see people, people see sometimes perception is reality in this league. And you know, you see the same guys get recycled. And he's a guy that you would at this point because he's had two jobs now? He's a guy that would be considered a retread. Yeah, but listen, he got fired from buffalo. Buffalo, and he was 8 and 8. He didn't have a losing season in Buffalo with a manual. What's the quarterback name from Florida state? EJ Manuel. EJ Manuel. Yeah. I hear you, man. And I know your guy. There's going to be Jon. I'm talking about Jim Caldwell as well. And you love Jim carville you brought him up many times. His name has come up with Jacksonville at least. Look, this is a conversation that we will have when Monday comes week from now. Right? Because you know what that day always is. That's the day when you didn't have to call boss Adams before that. Yeah. Maybe this week bar diamonds is who's gonna get fired. Yeah, that could be all right, on this episode of our Saddam. Is that a predicting the games for week 18 because it's really not a lot of yeah, you start predicting what happens on Monday morning. But meanwhile, meanwhile, what happens in the final game of the season for the packers is Aaron Rodgers playing because he wants to play. Yes. You know, he made it pretty clear. This is the right call. Now explain that. Why is it why should if I'm the packers and he's got a bad toe and you're playing the Lions and they bite kneecaps and you've already got the top seat. You don't need to play this game. Why am I not wrapping him in bubble wrap for two weeks and getting ready for the divisional round? Why? So I've probably won just as many, by the way, this is straight talk about street talk wireless. Sorry, good. I'm in the middle of the pack as far as. Guys who have more road playoff victories. I'm proud of you. I bet you I'm up there. I got like 8. Road playoff victories. And what happened is when you are whoever wins wildcard weekend is going to be in rhythm. They're going to be feeling great about themselves. And what happens is a lot of times, remember, you know, I went in, you know, I don't remember who we played when I was with the ravens, you know, that first week. But I can remember playing the bangles, going out to San Diego, San Diego was the team that had the best record. They had a buy. We jumped on them because they were flat.

"Feels like it's Jim Harbaugh. Jim Harbaugh is a four year coach in my estimation. And it's why college has actually been a good place for him to go because after four years, you're gone. You know, the players can put up with you for a certain amount of time and Harbaugh is one of those guys where eventually, you know, guys are going to want to get away from him. Be a part of greeny nation right now on a Dr Pepper call in line. ESPN nation presented by Dr Pepper college football season is wrapping up fans are hyped up return to glory with fans by Dr Pepper the one fans deserve and fitting with Harbaugh coming off of the loss in the orange bowl to Georgia. Take a listen to Albert breer last night because if you're Jim Harbaugh, this may be one of your last opportunities. Of course, in the Monday morning quarterback was on with Freddie and fitzsimmons. Here's what he had to say. you're Jim Harbaugh, part of this too, part of your equation has to be the one in a lot of interest in me the last couple of years at the NFL level, right? And so what happens if we're back to four or 5 losses next year, Michigan? There's my stock level back off. And then I'm approaching 60 years old. And how many more shots am I going to have at getting back to the league? I do think to some degree like losing in the Super Bowl to his brother. I think that's another thing like this out there for him. It's chasing a Super Bowl championship. I'm sure it's chasing a championship. I'm sure it's the idea of going back to three and four losses next year and being right back to hearing about it. And he may get a better contract because right now it's not exactly Harbaugh friendly at Michigan. They could move on from him relatively easily, but having said all of that, if your gym and there's a chance to go to a situation where you could win in relative short order, it would be perfect because if he goes back to the league, he's not somebody that's going to be there for ten years in one spot. And for me, if you got a quarterback in a place like Denver, if they're going to make a coaching change and it feels like they might, that could be a great spot for Harbaugh because that's a team where the defense that could win right now. And if you added, let's just throw Russell Wilson into the mix there, all of a sudden, that's a chance for him to win and relative short order. I mean, he did it with the forty-niners. He's 44, 19 and one, in four seasons, and he took San Francisco to a Super Bowl in his second year. And that was a franchise that didn't have a winning season. In 8 years. So if you're looking for someone who can kind of inject that immediate success, he's done it before he has a track record, so I think that that's why it's so realistic and believable that he could be that guy, but isn't it crazy how much I guess time affects things and how much difference a year can make because think of where he was last year. At this time, his base salary at Michigan gets dropped to $4 million. Because he had been paid over 8 million in 2020. He had cut in half, and then he goes with this clear clear shot for him to try to prove himself and does all that he does this year. Yes, Michigan can let him out of their sight and let him go and do all that they want to and let him go to the NFL, but wouldn't you think they see the ceiling for where this could go, and they see if he is their guy. They're going to offer him a long-term extension. Are they going to be competing with the NFL? Because I don't think that's a computable thing for I don't think it's winnable for them. I feel like that poll if he gets that offer, he's going. I would too. If I were him, I would too. And we were talking off the air earlier. Look at why. Look at what just happened. I mean, from a talent perspective, as far as Big Ten schools go, Michigan's up there, I don't think they're nearly as talented as Ohio State is, but they happen to beat them this year. They weren't competitive in that game against Georgia. They just weren't competitive. Can Harbaugh draw up a plan right now and actual route to a national championship at Michigan. That's what he has to ask himself. And for me, I think the answer is probably no. I don't think it could be any code there. And that's the problem. And if you're Michigan, you're like, okay, he wants, he's in line for a long-term extension here. We're going to have to pay him a lot of money. Could we go cheaper and start over and deal with the headache, frankly, at times? Is he getting the exact same guy? No, and he wasn't a model for calmness in the NFL either. Don't think about when he was playing with the bears and all the fights that he got in with Mike Ditka. I mean, well documented. And yes, there's a lot of baggage in terms of relatively speaking. And the craziness that comes with someone like Jim Harbaugh because coaches are crazy to begin with and he fits the bill there. If your Michigan and don't want to put up with that or just all that comes with it because like you said, they lose a couple games next year, you're back to man. Why do we have Jim Harbaugh here? Was last year just an outlier. And potentially you're answering yes to that question. So can you get by either promoting from within? I mean, he has a really young staff at Michigan. That's what he did. He injected that staff full of youth, and it worked. Is there anybody that you can promote from within that would be a less expensive option? You'd be able to have around long term. And then let Jim Harbaugh move on because financially, you're probably looking at a much more lucrative contract for him and having to shell all that out based on what he did this season. Even if your gut tells you, if your Michigan's administration and boosters in whatever, whatever is paying its contract, you probably hit your ceiling and that this is probably as far as you're going to go. So what makes sense for Harbaugh besides Denver is we talk about it. There are a few places, but there are a couple of places that make absolutely no sense. And that's on both sides where he can not become the head coach. We're going to get into that in moments. It's been straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. "Calls out the Washington football team and also with that letter and what just to the Washington football team, it was addressed to whom it May concern and now Roger Goodell. I'm looking at you also partner with toron Davenport. He has been in a foundation on me and fitzsimmons here on ESPN radio, the ESPN app series XM channel lady as we are presented by Progressive Insurance. And we'll touch on Jalen hurts and the Washington football team at FedEx field having the stands fall down and fans falling into hertz's lap after the game on Sunday as TD just shakes his head. How does that happen? We'll dress that coming up in just a moment. We'll go light first. The Washington football team, they're acting like my teenage daughters right now fighting over a dress. I mean, it's like a 17 year old high school recruit, you know, deciding which hat he's going to put on it at signing day. And he goes, well, you know what? I'm actually not going to sign on the early signing period for college football. I'm going to wait till February. I'm just going to drag this thing out and just kind of dangle you along like a little carrot and then you know what I'm saying? I'm not that interested partner. You're 17, 18 years old. I'm not good you are. So I'm dialing you out. That's what I've done with the Washington football team and they're in nickname and mascot. And today they announced that they're going to reveal their new nickname on February 2nd. Are you on pins and needles to find out what Washington is going to be called? I am hardly on pins and needles. I don't give a daggone. What ends up happening with that, honestly. It's not the least bit on my radar. And I just think it's a joke dude. You're announcing that you're going to reveal. Come on, man. Just do it, man. This is Nike, man. Just do it. Come on. Just Nike it. I like that. Look, what? They should have been called the sentinels from day one and find a quarterback named falco. I have one chain to change his name to falco. But that's number one. If you have no idea what we're talking about, just go Google the replacements and you'll thank us. And awful, great movie. Yes. My other one is just leave it at Washington football. Bingo, just leave it. That's it. Doug bingo. Not the presidents or the commandants or whatever else is out there. The red hogs just leave it at Washington football team since you already muffed the punt when you should have called him the sentinels. Yeah, it's funny you mentioned that too, because I don't know where I saw it today, but I saw a transcript of Doug Williams. He was being interviewed on somewhere. I forget, but he said that every once in a while, even now, he'll slip up and say Redskins. And he recognizes the fact that it's politically incorrect. And he agrees with that name change happening, but then he'll say, well, okay, let's say we changed our name to the beavers, okay? And let's say we win a Super Bowl, right? And you take the Washington beaver Super Bowl and you put it next to the three Washington Redskins ones, it just doesn't look right. And he makes a good point there. And he said, that's all the more reason to just go ahead and stick with the Washington football team. And I think that's actually pretty cool that they went with that. And it's, to me, it's classic. I like that, just stick with that. Yeah, you stole it from the pitch of soccer. You know, with a logo looks good. I mean, they're just a plain old W, it's not wrong with it. Yeah. So since you muffed the punt on the sentinels, just leave it alone, but this announcement date, this reveal date. I mean, it's absolutely JV. I mean, it's a JV beef brother move, but a little Danny Snyder in the Washington football team yet again. He's trying to Davenport on me if it's Simmons. You can be a part of Freddie at the Simmons here on the Dr Pepper call online. Number 88 say ESPN 888-729-3776 ESPN nation is presented by Dr Pepper college football season in full effect and matter of fact. We get another bowl game kicking off right now. I let you K state. Return to glory with fans ville by Dr Pepper, the one fans deserve. All right, TD, this one I know is in your Wheelhouse. You know Jalen hurts pretty well. I know him when he was at Alabama in Oklahoma. And what happened at the end of that game where eagles fans at FedEx, we've all seen the video where the stands collapse. You have about what? 8 to ten fans. Falling on the media members and Jalen hurts quarterback of the eagles. And the Washington football team said, oh no, there was medical attention that was given there. And every fan that's been interviewed said, no, there wasn't. As a matter of fact, you were telling us to get the bleep off the field. It was a complete opposite of what little Danny Snyder's ball club was saying they did. Well, Jalen hurts today, penned this letter. It's said to whom it May concern. I'm writing to inquire about what follow-up action is being considered in response to the near tragic incident that took place at FedEx field on January January 2nd, 2022. As you are aware, many individuals, including fans, media personally on myself, replaced in a dangerous situation when portions of the FedEx field tunnel collapsed, although I was able to prevent the barrier from crashing onto me, that was not the same for others who could be suffering from lingering injuries. Through the initial shock, my first reaction was to assist those involved, however, while I displayed a calm composure, understand the severity of what happened, and I'm extremely concerned for the well-being of the fans and media as a result I would like to know what safeguards the NFL and the Washington football team are implementing to prevent this from ever occurring in the future. The resources of the NFL and team organizations ensure our safety through playing this physical sport, but what happened on Sunday put both fans and players unnecessarily at risk, long after the final whistle. I'll look forward to hearing from you on this matter. Sincerely, Jalen hurts, TD, floors. I love it. I love it. Just the fact that, you know, he was willing to challenge the organization and even, as you mentioned, you know, the NFL to, hey, let's do something about this. Right? And the thing that you have to think about is, so it's really fortunate that he was walking on the opposite side, right? Imagine if the railing that was right over top of him had collapsed. Imagine. That railing comes down on him with the weight of all those people. Man, we're talking about a whole more complicated situation. So I just think, you know, when you look at this FedEx field situation, I don't like trashing anything. You know what I mean? But that place is terrible. It is terrible. I'm going to tell you, I'm going to tell you where I'm at. There's bad sight lines all over the place. Even just, I remember back in the day, you know, when I covered the eagles, I used to love talking to less bone, right? And he told me that they used to charge you for Wi-Fi. 25 bucks for Wi-Fi. I've never

Gruden the raiders on monday. night football. he's going to tell you is gruden still a good coach or just a big brand. That's after sportscenter. Yeah huge win. For the raiders on monday night football. We're gonna play a game With jeff saturday in the second call player or brand but first jeff. What was your reaction to the raiders. Overtime win man resiliency. I mean if you if you think about the raiders. I'm not sure about you guys. But when it first started it they might get boat raced and then they stayed in their man. Battled their defensive line. They get the game ball. I mean those guys they flat out got after the ravens they shut them down on situational football on third down. Four towns created turnovers. Like they did it all and they flat out got after lamar jackson. So give those guys a ton of credit and then then they were carmen like he saw. They're going to stay in may and they're gonna try to heat them up and bring blitzes. He found a way to bail out. Make plays late and and that's a huge ask on those on that ravens secondary. You think you're going all the way through four quarters and overtime and you're trying to stay in may and on guys who run four four threes with deep overs. That's a lot to ask on them. And so ultimately the the the raiders found a way to get the win huge win for those guys made to start the season. So i wanna play a game. I want to call player brand and the inspiration came from key talking about the the. Ucla win over lsu. That's just a brand. And i thought i heard that times. He's he talks about like well. That's really just a brand. So i want to try this player. Meaning does this team or player still has it or are they still a player or just a brand name. Okay we're gonna mentioned some big name players and coaches in the nfl and figure it out. And let's start with jon gruden jeff player or brain. Oh i'll i'll start with player for whatever reason right now. He's getting his guys to go and play. And i know they've had it. They've had a rough run but but week one and you come back from a from being the deficit that they did. And you know kinda clawing and scratching your way. Maybe they found their way. And i'm telling to defensive. Line is legit. They can get out. I thought their offensive line played well against the ravens for the majority of the game and they had some slip-ups but i'll say i'll say he's getting better. I would say the same thing. Jeff i think right now. He's a player. If you ask me proud his gain. Why would he have been. He would have just been a brand. That's why he was hired with the raiders but last night he falls into the player. Category j. always say players but doesn't feel like it always fluctuates. I mean last year. Dan graziano brought up when a beat. Kansas city like oh player and then he didn't sustain any. Oh brand and now. I feel like player theme this the answers player for exact reasons. Everyone's identifying and this is exactly. Why last night was so big. Because if he would've lost brant brown but he won. And why is that big foreign twelve seven and nine eight every year. They get a little better than they beat of very competitive ravens team week one when they a lot of teams would have folded. Eventually they kept a lot of players. Were hurt for the ravens. Can we not knowing you no listen. You don't you don't decide who you play you. Just play in front of you. Leaders still very good player or brand. Jeff saturday aaron rodgers player. Komo man. you don't jump off that bandwagon. That fast i mean. He hasn't touched the office. he played bad. I mean this is the mvp last year. He will get it back on track. That don't don't sleep on this guy if you're betting against him. You're betting the wrong bro. Yeah i'm just moving along with it. Certainly that's my fault for question is beautiful. I expecting anyone say you know what i saw. Game of aaron rodgers. he's no good anymore. Okay old l. beckham junior player rand jess. I think he is player. And i think he's about to show the world why i no. He got held out last week. Coming back from that. Aco this guy is gonna take the browns offense to another level. I'm telling you with the play action and what they're going to be able to keep are capable of doing blocking it. Four baker mayfield. Lbj is going to be a deciding factor and everybody's of written guy off. He was still a player and he show up this season. See i think he's still a player but he he. He is leaning toward that brand side of things because when they went out to get him he's supposed to be a major difference maker for the cleveland. Browns obviously back coaching contributed to him. Not being able to do that then he gets hurt so right now. They're hoping to him for him to come back healthy. Give them what they pay to get. But right now. I'm kinda stuck in between player in brand. Bj out of sao outta mind right. What have you dumped me lately. We haven't seen odell be at his best. Last time we saw manifield with baker mayfield. That chemistry seemed off. But he's still player man. You watch a video of him training. This is what i'm going to say..

And i'm loving what baker's doing but my overreaction is what i said i wanted your sports shows before to The football draft guy. The panther should've justin feels donaldson. Okay good game yesterday. But there was a time when he almost lost to me. When i was watching him play he started to look a little dancing feet. They talk about. He had a great game but you know who they play and how many they win by. So i wish the panthers would have gotten justin field when they had the i. I see why like just feels to me. No one's can't miss but some guys are like boy it's gonna take a lot for this wasn't a part of this A couple months ago we were. We were here. Alan was on the deal and we saw justin field at practice warming up. And i says he that that just it just looks right. It's not that hard. It's like exactly. That looks good right there. That's what he's supposed to look like. You know like like that to me. He looked like dak prescott with more talent to think about that for a second. I wouldn't be shocked that they start him this week. I wouldn't be shot. We'll get off the air. We'll be off the air canoe. It'll be one. Chicago's decided to fields. "That was talking about personality. I mean, that is personal. I'm not. Kellerman has been hearing and that goes on, even even makes his presence known. Right here on game night on ESPN radio, But yes. So you know Cam Newton. Obviously there is that concern And when you're that and former M v P player and when you do have that huge personality in the locker room, I guess some people are concerned. I do know I'm what I'm most excited about for the NFL season is actually Seeing because I'm a Dolphins fan. If Tua can pan out because I have huge question marks there. I don't understand people who are completely out on him. But I frankly don't understand people who are very in on him yet either because I just think that it's really hard to judge him coming off of last season, where I saw him start for essentially half the season and then get benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick at times when they were trying to win games at the end of the season, so we'll get to see it out of the gate here against Mac Jones. And so that's a really awesome match up there because I feel like Mac Jones people. Since getting rid of Cam Newton. People have decided to go ahead and give that gold jacket to Mac Jones, like they are convinced that Mac Jones is the next coming of Tom Brady or whatever quarterback you want to put in that greatest ever conversation, And I think we all need to calm down for a minute. And remember that like, hey, he had a good preseason, but you know, he is a rookie and It'll be interesting to see what he looks like against to a, even though they're not against each other. We know we're all going to make that comparison and have that conversation after that game while he did get the Bill Belichick seal of approval because they could have kept Cam Newton and then eased Mac Jones in and figured out what's the right window to make the switch because they drafted the guy 15th overall fell into their lap. Um, you know Bill Belichick and rookie quarterbacks. You know, it's not something you see all that often. But he had Tom Brady there for like, 20 years. And this is new territory, So I think there is that intrigue and excitement over. Okay. How is this rookie quarterback in this veteran coaches coming off? You know, a pretty dismal season. How is it going to look weak? One. There's so much hype around this Patriots team. Not only does the quarterback And you know the newness there, but they are loaded. They have a lot of weapons offensively. A lot of guys from Mac Jones passed the ball to and defensively they've got all of these covid 19 opt outs that are playing this year. So can that defense be as good as it was? Let's say 2018 2019. Do we start to see the makings of that? Tomorrow. But on the other side of that I'm with you. I've never understood Why we give up on first round draft picks, especially first round quarterback so quickly. To a did not play the entire season last year because they were going in and out with Ryan Fitzpatrick. They were a bad team, and they're a good team and they're bad team. Then they're trying to make the playoffs like it really wasn't a fair start for him, but they're going to force feed us this this year to figure out whether they made the right pick or whether they're going to be using one of those draft picks that they got when Them the 49 ers and the Eagles decided to change up the draft order for the 2021 draft. Back in April. We're going to be seeing this season if they're using one of those high draft picks that they get in 2022 or 23, whichever I want it was To get another quarterback to replace to if he doesn't indeed, pan out, because that's my theory is that I think that the reason that they moved back in this draft and then they ended up moving up again. But when they moved back, they got an extra pick in 2023 extra first rounder and my theory there was they were thinking. Hey, maybe we need a couple first rounders in 23 in case we need to trade up to take another quarterback. And by 2023 will probably know you know how to look after he's had three years in the league Pretty you'd feel pretty good about that decision. Right now. The jury is still out, and he'll get of course this season and so we'll find out or I shouldn't say. Of course. Obviously, there were those DeShaun Watson rumors out there, but presumably he'll get this season and we'll get to see how it plays out, starting with This matchup against like you said a much improved New England Patriots team. Although I do think people are sleeping on that Dolphins defense in particular, I think that dolphins defense is going to be very good in that Dolphins Sea might be better than people expect, but it all comes down to quarterback play. Football's back so the fans return to glory with fans ville by dr pepper. The one fans deserve all right. What's the one game. You guys are looking forward to seeing this weekend. Gawky ju it's the new orleans saints green bay packer game chambers. Well let's see jamus i. I'm really interesting interested to find out what he is right. Now with the new orleans saints at the quarterback spot I think it's it's gonna be important for him to get off to a fast start it. It's just you know because there's so much there was so much doubt about his maturity as well as his play On the field. In what sean payton would be able to do with him so i want. I'm gonna watch him closely given the fact that we don't have they don't have michael thomas in the lineup. Can he make the necessary adjustments to you. Know handle the offense the same kind of way drew brees did jay. I'll keep an afc north. I'll go with the steelers steelers and bills. I'm high on the bills this year. I like their trio wide receivers. I think they have the talent. Obviously people always question running game. I think devon's single tarik can bring net obviously josh allen. Run for a ton of yards per game We'll talk about whether josh allen dak prescott. Mvp conversation but the steelers are an interesting. yes they don't have o. line But they were one of the hottest teams in the nfl last year before he went downward spiral and the obviously they interview defense. The other day their defenses there they just signed. Tj watt one of the largest contract. Nfl history eighty million guaranteed so just to see how they continue to play in the afc north. I think with what's happened with baltimore. We just talked about not really having runabout. It's going to be a lot that that division is open to me to the browns or the favorite by far as the browns can continue to be consistent with where they were last year. And build upon. Which i think i don't know if there's browns were the favorite by far i would. I also favored the browns in that division by little. you know. we're going to get to the ravens in a second chief. Some browns to me. I mean that could be the afc championship game. We know by the end of the year we could look at those two teams the best in football. We don't know like there's a lot of football to play but on paper. The browns look really really good. If it's odell and baker are on the same page this year they could take that next step and they're going to have to. You know the next step is going to have to be getting past chiefs. Who every year. They just revamped the offensive line at as a giants fan. Ki- like i've been waiting for them to rebuild the line for ten years in kansas city. Oh we need to fix the line overnight. They bring in orlando brown. They signed tuni. They dress draft humphry. They they signed blah like all the sudden hold on how come other teams who need offensive. Line's can't do something like this. They put it together. So i'm really looking forward to that good good personnel decisions. I mean orlando brown was out there. "Like that Keyshawn j. max. We're gonna get to the ravens major injuries. But i were asking at key j. maxx on twitter. What game are you most looking forward to watching this weekend. Be a part of cage. Am nation on the dr pepper twitter. Feed or call in line eight eight say. Espn eight seven to nine. Three seven seven six espn nation presented by dr pepper college. Football's back so the fans return to glory with fans ville by dr pepper. The one fans deserve all right. What's the one game. You guys are looking forward to seeing this weekend. Gawky ju it's the new orleans saints green bay packer game chambers. Well let's see janus i. Mvp conversation but the steelers are an interesting team. Yes they don't have o. line But they were one of the hottest teams in the nfl last year before he went win downward spiral and the obviously they interview defense. Ki- like i've been waiting for them to rebuild the line for ten years these dudes in kansas city. Everybody knew he wanted to be moved. But your trade partners important. What are you willing to give up. Maybe they've got him in felt like his left. Tackle spot will secure. Didn't need to move and get orlando brown. And maybe the price for him was too high. Just you know but can't see did feel that way. Then you know the key with what pittsburgh's loss front. I mean i haven't bought the pre pouncey retired. I mean a lot of questions there. Baltimore audio ak dominating now we're talking about this on his questions right. It's it's questions that's all. It is but they got a coaching sideline who has never been under five hundred as a coach in pittsburgh. They got a quarterback. This says he's held the again and people seem to think he's healthy again. They got the three receivers washington. Johnson klay pool at four as well as juju smith coming back they got the most dominant running back in the draft and nausea hairs. So it's kinda like and icky and they got a coach matter. What right but not just a coach but a coach who no matter what doesn't have a losing season no experience what i know rothlisburger not losing season never been under. Never been under five hundred. "Where the action is in. Alabama is on every single list. So that makes it easier for nick sabin to pick and choose and hopefully get it right and when it comes to the quarterback position. Everyone knows how important that is. He has gotten it right. Yeah jalen hurts. jalen hurts. Could've started almost anywhere. They had to same same thing. Mag jones was not in the same league. He developed him into a great player. Bryce young wasn't that league and dj clemson came with the same credentials. Except you know. He was thrown into a much different situation. So it helped. It helped rice young not to start. The season against georgia were clemson as opposed to miami. And now i think he's going to. Be unstoppable paul. You talk about clemson miami georgia. You're talking about that part of the region but the acc in particular. They took one on the chin. This past weekend with louisville losing miami losing although they played against a team that at alabama you mentioned. But you'd still look at clemson against georgia north carolina. virginia tech. They three of the teams in the top fifteen took an ale or they finished and done with the college football playoff. I think if you're looking for a heartache. Which i know you would never do or i would ever do. You could say that. But but i think the complexities of college. Football does not support that because all it takes a or a couple of upstarts i think any sane college football fan watching clemson. Saturday night would have to agree. They're a high level football team. The problem is they were up against a really nasty defense and they just. They seemed like they digressed a little from a couple of years ago. Now what does that mean. That's digressing from the number. One team in the country with trevor lawrence and travis etienne in the backfield and all americans out on the sides but i think they just need some luck because they will get it in the acc. That's really what this is about the stinks it's got. I mean not only at the top but in the middle bottom. You had duke duke losing to charlotte which is a brand new program at georgia tech losing losing to northern illinois. That really pulls your league down in every game. This year for clemson we'll we'll just really almost unwatchable maybe with the exception of nc state. Florida state did look good and defeat. So there's a few positive things to talk about. But not many and meanwhile alabama georgia play in the big leagues. And so two sodas everyone else. So that's if there are no major upsets for oklahoma ohio state. Then clemson will probably get left out but if they could get some luck. Paul mom joining joins the show brought to you by dr pepper college. Football's is back so the fans crack open an ice cold dr pepper slap on a fresh coat of paint return to glory with an all new season fans ville by dr pepper. The one fans deserve paul. We got about a minute one issue. That's been on my mind the lot in the last several years. And we've talked about it in the past on air has been the knicks sabin era which to me looked like it could be coming to a close with the competition from daboh and clemson and how it was unclear to me after so many years of alabama is the number one program. If that were still the case and paul week one is over and it looks like that still. The case is the alabama clemson. Daboh challenge to nick sabin over. Are we still clearly in the nick. Sabin era we are. And i think after alabama max lost by twenty eight a couple years ago to clemson. It was on the brink. And then what happened. The next year we saw. Lsu with joe borough but you know i thought in many thought maybe lsu was ascending. It looked like a one year. Wonder with joe borough and much much. Like we've seen with other generational quarterbacks cam newton eleven or twelve years ago so right now who who are really the challengers. It's the same. It's the same schools but so far. Nobody has really been able to make a dent. Saving will turn seventy next month. But i don't think it stops right now because he's still recruiting better than any one else. He's got a very good staff. I mean he lost steve starkey into texas. Who did he replace him with bill. O'brien who is an nfl head coach a college head coach and someone who just moved right in and they did not nisa beat so i'm not saying it will go on forever. Some people think he'll win national championships until he's one hundred. But there's always occurred. Max but right now i don't think the end of the dynasty is anywhere near the great paul finebaum ladies and gentlemen. Paul always a pleasure. Don't be a stranger. i have some. I don't know if you've heard that. And i got some stuff in the pipeline. I'm gonna wanna talk to you about you. Too key youtube j. But paul..

"Key. J and Max were 88 say, ESPN. That's 8887293776. ESPN Nation is presented by Dr Pepper College football's back. So are the fans. Return to glory with fans Ville by Dr Pepper The one fans deserve all right, guys in Dominican Su, I I I butchered his name just now. So we've been put around 15 years and I still can't say atomic ensue. Activated by the Bucks. Meantime, as you just heard the Cowboys Luczak Martin. How concerned key should we be about that? Prescott Week one Well, I think in terms of, uh, Dak Prescott. I don't think there should be any concern about him Physically, I think he'll be fine. I think their shoulders fine. I think the ankle's fine. They wouldn't put him out there but losing Zack Martin. Let's not forget about that. Losing Zack Martin. You know you you you talk about their right side. The offensive line loud, Wild Collins. You talk about the strength of what they do. They run the ball extremely well when all those guys are healthy and plan with Vecchio Elliott protection wise when you are facing the top defense in the National Football League a year ago that won the Super Bowl. I mean, just think about it. Jpp, a former New York Giants. I hated to say that to you, Max and J, but he's with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Right. Devin White at the linebacker position consumed ill hungry like he just eats up offensive lineman. I can just go on and on and on naming the front seven. Of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When you don't have your offensive line attack, it's trouble. Key forgot 12. Even with video via I mean, Peter Bear, So J. You heard what Key said. The thing about old lines is, If there's a weak link, it'll be exploited. And I think about the bucks as we just saw them exploit two lines last when last seen NFC Championship game and then in the Super Bowl, they got guys. They don't have to bring extra guys to get you. Especially now. He's not worried about that Shoulders final. He wouldn't be out there but First the lower extremity. Then you've got to make that up somehow. Then the shoulder Now now the old line. This is not your slightly older cousins. Offensive line. The Cowboys used to run out there right now. The old leisure. Are you worried about deck? This sounds like you're worried, cause I know I'm worried. Well, I'm worried that it's maybe not where Dak is physically. But Ezekiel Early, said the other day that Zack Martin is their best offensive player. So now I get worried about is it your Elliot? How will they be able to run the ball, especially after seeing that old line depleted last year? And the one thing that does worry me, Max is that it brings me back to what happened last year. Last year, I saw Dak singlehandedly try to keep the Cowboys in every single game and he was running for his life based upon his arm, and if Zack Martin is out, and he's one of the top people to protect a guy like that Prescott coming off injury against that great defense of Tampa Bay. I don't understand how you're not worried about a game like this. Yeah, I would say my my. My game is different, though. Change. Why would household okay? What do you mean? No, because you see it worried about the game. No, no, no, no, no. All right, we're talking about the game is different than worrying about death. Clearly, we're talking about bags out being part of the game in his health. But this key this is this is for you because Football is dangerous. Every snap is every snap could be your last right like that's the way it is so so that facing a defense like that, coming off a couple of different injuries and obviously just got the bag right. They paid them finally last year, and then he gets while he's hurt. What is the so Jay's? Obviously concerned you less. So where do you draw the line? Like? How'd as someone who played in the NFL for many years. When do you get concerned about a guy's health? If not your star quarterback who just got paid coming off a couple different injuries? Offensive line hurt facing a great defense? If that's not the time to get a little concerned, when would you Well, here's what I would say Thai bowls is is known to bring the heat once they start bringing the heat, and they don't have to bring extra guys out of the secondary to starting linebacker position to get to the quarterback, But to Bose is known for that. And once he starts dialing it up, and that has to get rid of the ball and get it out his hands quick and he's in completing Paul. He's not completing passes. They're incomplete balls are flying all over the place. That's when you start to worry, because now they know that they can't protect him and he can't get out of harm's way. So they're going to try to prove They're going to try to prove okay. If he's so healthy, let's see if he can handle this heat that I'm bringing you. Now. That's when I start to say okay now, and I'm worried about it. I'm worried about him taking a pounding and a beating because they can't protect him. Yeah, right. Yeah, but it sounds like that could happen. That's going to happen. Yeah, man, I don't I don't. I don't know that it's going to happen because he made They may have an answer for what Tampa Bay is going to come with. If Tampa Bay's bringing you know people out of the secondary, they may say three step drive. Get the ball out. Quick! We're getting up. We're getting rid of it. And now if he's completing those balls or their gashing him in the running game, even though even though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of style against the rush defense you sit there and you go, OK, but if somehow they find a little bit of a crack In that defense Now you if you're tired, both, you gotta back off. But he you know when you say that Tampa Bay has a stout rush defense, that is the case and if the old line is somewhat depleted, and if you're hearing Ezekiel Elliott say that Zack Martin gives me my best chance to run against his back. He's our best offensive player. If the ball's in Dak Prescott is hands a lot Uh, we're watching the first quarter and they can't really run the ball and we start seeing deck. Start getting pressured, and he's starting to get hit very hard. I don't know how you don't have concern is the Dallas I'm not even a Cowboys fan and I have concern for deal..
