"It's very specific and very detailed. In terms of how you might do that, besides just members of your own household attendants fussy little grandma's if you running government, and they think people are going to follow this, huh? It's think people are going to listen to their nonsense, No people, but it's It's like she was either at ridiculous, but Sadly, I think a lot of people will refrain this year from having the usual guests over. I guess what I'm thinking I'll do what you usually do. I talked to some people and they told me that they're not really doing much. They're not going to go to any big family. You know something? I was just reading today. I think we're going to talk about it later that like the USC Dornsife poll. They have found by asking people what he how do you think the people you know, are going to vote? It provides an ah very effective prediction device. Don't you know the reason for that? Is that it whitens the polling pace. It's kind of a simple reason for it. Yeah, it's sort of more people. You're talking to one person. But you're getting if he's got his four or five friends and you're saying how they're going to vote and he's right. It says. You've really increase the sampling. It's called crowd sourcing. It would just be gone a very long list, their scent that I thought of you, so I put it in today's pile, so we will talk about that later. Andi and yes, this is the one way that USC dornsife says could indicate Another Trump win in the electoral college but will explain all that. Later on a zit on the side of the times. You never think you would see this. Last night was another night for the Conan O'Brien show. You know, the Kid comedy Show host Talk show host. Yeah, I think he's on TBS now carries him. Hey, came out last night and wanted to tell everybody that the location where they film the show was burglarized. Studio, Holden show They moved it Now they moved it to a Los Angeles comedy club called Largo at the core. Annette. He wanted to return to production and support the theater. In case you haven't heard those places are really hurting them in the comedy clubs and clubs that host like music acts and stuff like that. There's actually a bill in Congress to try to save them because they're all really going under. I mean, obviously, if you can't have a live show, but the live audience the way these comedy clubs in these music Clubs do for this many months. How are you going to survive? You know, there's one there made that it's been there for years. For long as I've lived Dr Live, which is over 20 years, it's been there. It's kind of a neighbourhood institution. One day I drove by and up on the marquee is were for sale. Serious enquiries only. Get the phone number. There's a lot of that. I mean, almost every day, I noticed another restaurant closing up there trying to figure out in Vegas how to do live shows again. You know, they did those Cirque du Soleil's, but they declared bankruptcy. But there are other searches. Salade declared bankruptcy. Oh, yeah. You didn't know that? No, I didn't know that was a while ago. Oh, yeah. They declared bankruptcy, so Looking for. Apparently, some of the creditors might buy it on DH. Try to continue it. Oh, yeah. This report today that the wealthy guy I think he's a trump fan that owns the Venetian palazzo. Maybe put them up for sale for Bill. Oh, yeah. Sherman Churn. Edelson. I think it's Sheldon. Sheldon. Sheldon Adelson. Sheldon Abel said. Yeah, but like casinos up for sale, So anyway, I guess that's why Conan did do this. They moved to this club called the Cornette. And he said during last night's show, we come to this theater because he thought theaters in trouble. Let's Revival theater. Let's keep it going. Seemed like a nice thing to do. Well, what happens beginning this morning we find out someone broke into our little theater took some of our equipment. Some of our equipment that we used to make the show. We got robbed. We simply got robbed. His co host, Andy Richter said. Why would they do that? You're one of the good ones he was and what they are They doing their own show these guys now. Uh, if you're stealing, Yeah, Whatever. I don't know. A television shows is maybe you could you confess it? Right people do they sell stuff on the Internet that they get? It might be somebody out there who'd be interested in it, he said. They made off with some laptops. That they used to conduct remote interviews on the show, as well as ah wooden slate used to synchronize picture and sound. Well, that sounds very It sounds very probably the laptop's people always steal laptops. They probably stole a lot of jokes to laptops were filled with jokes. Eyes going guys telling Conan's jokes and there's a story on the other end of the dial. We're going to go to NBC station in Miami. To show you just how revved up both sides are getting over this presidential race. Here's a report on what one man did in South Florida. It was the middle of the afternoon when witnesses saw the strangest sight a man on a bulldozer or stealing political signs and leaving behind destruction. Are you kidding me? I don't even believe it. "You know I think that's gonNA come out more. And more as he comes out of his shell around The Paddock and gets you know more more time to interact with the president interviews and stuff but You know absolutely one hundred and ten percent committed no doubt about that at all. But he's he's a good kid. I call him the kid. I guess 'cause I've found out I'm actually. I think older than his parents. Which again I think that makes me feel some days but You know keeping up with these guys. It's it keeps you young for sure. So obviously we have seen several changes to the schedule with everything. That's going on. Why what are you most looking forward to? Now that we have we'll call it a set schedule. Obviously anything can change but we kind of know what we're doing now is right. Yeah Well I'm I'm just looking forward to getting back to a race track. I mean this. This has been one of the weirdest sort of periods that I've experienced and in my twenty some twenty plus years of racing We have you know keeping up with the they hire racing stuff you know. We got more and more serious that further and further we got into it. You Know Assyrian get engineers and everything goes up and option. Fortunately we have a tendency to do that You know we. We would spend you know Thursday Friday and Saturday. You know three or four hours on the computer doing practice races and practice qualifying and analyzing data and yeah at that that helps keep us busy as well so but as far as the schedule looking. I'm looking forward to one getting started. But you know being a at the speedway whenever it is for whatever reason for me is always special you know even going through the road course race And being there. It's it's still going to be you know. I still get the goosebumps for the first time I walked down out in pit lane You know that that's just it means that much to anyone who's been there and tried to win it or actually accomplished it and want it the places you know for me. It's it's that special. Yes so I grew up in the in the area and it's it's always been kind of home for me. I mean it's just there's nothing like it in the world so just quick. Follow up on that. Are you kind of looking forward to the? I think it's October. Third are active before whatever. It is the The second race on the GP track. Yeah I think being there that time of year coming back and and you know CR- again from for me any reason to go to the speedway it's it's a good. It's a good day It it's going to be. I think particularly for you know going back to Alex and and I think he's going to be competitive that format You know the road courses. I think that's that's sort of home base for him And a chance to go back there A second time. I think that's only going to you. Know hopefully build on his confidence level and you know again finishing finishing well and races and and on podiums and and you know I would actually expect that we should have a competitive run for some wins this year in if nothing else On the road courses but obviously with The combination of of Alex Santino. Again cautiously optimistic. I think we're going GONNA show up and actually run quite competitively and in a lot of the places we go to. I'm curious I was doing some reading this morning instead of having a standard kind of technical director. You and Santino 's engineer Olivier are kind of Adowa coat may be co leading it. How does that work in team dynamics does that mean? You're also doing some work on Santino. Car or or setup and Olivia also pitching in on on Alex's car. Yeah it's so a little background I've I've known And worked with Olivier Together at at Katie Racing He was Ej visas engineer He has been not only that. But but just a really good friend You know anybody knows knows. He's he's the the crazy French guy and he's just such a good person It's actually a pleasure to work with him again and that's made it an incredibly easy Coming in and and sort of transitioning into a new work environment so as far as as our shared responsibility We have also our assistant. Engineers are very high high level My Assistant Ross Burnell is is a very experienced has been probably with the team as long as anybody there To the point where you know. He's he's got the background of the teams history and and knows how old the internal systems function. You know having him as as as a resource as well as it's almost you know between Ah Libya's assistant Might came from Nascar so again a super experience guy but a fresh perspective a different point of view. Sometimes between the four of us you know obviously living a Lydia and I kind of Discussing and set the direction that those guys are just as instrumental at at brain this whole program ups where it is in a short amount of time. I love it so we will wrap it up with one more here from just and again Eric. Thanks for the time this afternoon but I will turn it over to jess for one more. Yeah absolutely all so mine is not going to be really racing related cursing but I know you said you did the. I racing stuff here lately and all of that. What else have you been doing to keep yourself busy during this crazy time? We've been going through. You know honestly so a little just without getting too deep into When we came back from Saint Pete The you know the whole world was changing by the hour. You know unfortunately It was kind of in that bode to fall winter You know with NBA canceling their season My my wife is actually Diabetic she actually has had some health issues in the past So when we were sort of talking she was actually scheduled to go to Saint Pete We cancelled her trip And actually before. I even got home from Saint Pete. She went to Stay with my mother and My hometown in Nebraska which is Halsey Nebraska Population Seventy six About two hours from anywhere so try to keep her safe. I self quarantine for two weeks here in Indy. Which sounds if anybody who's done that. It it sounds great. It's okay for a couple of days but then while you know you're you're literally pacing floors At least I am. I'm not very good at self-isolation I can. I can tell you but then I went and joined them in Nebraska so we spent probably five or six weeks with my mom Which never happens. It's time to your So that was actually sort of silver lining to all of this. But you know keeping up with work You know going back to Olivier. We probably talk at least three or four times a week if not more Talking about work. We're always keeping an eye on the schedule But going trying to get back to a routine of you know getting some exercise You know I was biking here. When I was in Indy We would go for walks in Nebraska while we my watch is working from home as well and then really just kind of trying to Maintain a schedule of you. Know four or five hours of work. Take a break you know. Finish up a couple of emails and then you shut the computer off. Tried to try to keep that balance going. Because you know it's amazing. It's easy just to go off the deep end if you're a workaholic. Just kind of going on. There's always something to do. I understand that so I have to ask Doris downtime. Have you watched the illustrious Tiger Gang Okay and folders closer? I watched? We actually watched I think three or four episodes and I I just. It wasn't for me again. I actually I actually watched both seasons of of Rude Net flicks Formula One documentary. Good idea I'm the name of. It's escaping me right now. Dr To survive. I think Dr Live. Yeah Yeah I enjoyed watching all of that twice. That's like kind of tells you where I guess my that low. I did give I give it a pair of shop though. Yeah no I. I don't blame you I. It's not like I watched all seven episodes tiger king in a day and a half but I would have been smarter to not do that.

The louvers are hand cut into the Bonnet Haves and it's mostly done by most of the people that work there are. Actually the average age is only about thirty two or thirty three but they're very often third generation Wardley adoration sons grandsons great grandsons of original employees. That's that's really amazing where where Morgan's made I know their English. But where are they made at the factory of Mall. We're in England. which is the northwest tip of the cuts wolves inning? I've gorgeous town. It's built on the side of a mountain at has about nineteen colleges alleges and Universities Gorgeous Cathedral. It was originally a spa town in the eighteen. Hundreds for wealthy Londoners wealthy Europeans to come and either bather drink the medicinal waters which are absolutely disgusting to taste. I must tell you I've tried them. Well I prefer the eighty six proof and higher medicinal waters that come out of the British isles. I can't tell you what a fun car. The Morgan is true. Confession I was an owner of a plus site for a number of years. Thanks to Dennis was actually a gift I gave myself when I turned fifty. I thought well I'm too old to buy another motorcycle. Well not really but maybe but the Morgan seemed like the closest thing and I swear that I have never had more fun with any car. I've ever driven. Yeah we'll well you've riding so close to the ground credibly low center of gravity if cut away doors so you could trim your nails on the sidewalk or street as Dr Live. If you want that view down that long louvred bonnet is just wonderful. You can feel the wind in your hair smell things I I often think when I first moved to. La Twenty years ago to open. Morgan wisdom stuck in traffic on the freeways. And I'm not used to that whatsoever and I'm going God. This is terrible. I'm in an open car and then suddenly I smell this absolutely wonderful aroma and I realized that sitting there on the center divider. There's awesome wildflowers. That have erupted and they're in full blossom. And if I were in any normal car I. They've never had that experience. Here's isn't that just made everything great with the world. I mean I was suddenly so happy there. I was driving a Morgan that I was fortunate enough to be stuck in traffic. It's that positive positive aspect that the world goes by too fast when you're in the enclosed cocoon air conditioned radio or podcast podcast blaring. The great thing about the Morgan is even though they do actually have air conditioning and radios these days. If you so desire you don't need any of that to have the kind of fun you're talking about. I never ever listen to the radio. When I'm driving Morgan? I've got it in the fuel. Mike Arts never turned out of it just like love listening to the engine. Sound of the exhaust purrs had had deep snarls. It just does everything you wanted to do. What a great car? "Robinson you're trying to seduce aren't you and she continues to deny even though it's pretty clear she is like just being so forceful and like go. Oh to this come with me here give me this and like oh you silly boy. I'm not trying to seduce you. quit acting that way and then suddenly her clothes are often Benjamin. Jamin runs away. Yes as well when her husband shows up and he's feeling very awkward but she says to him I'm available. If you ever change your mind. Yes after his parents by him scuba suit for his twenty first birthday okay and force him to go on parade in front of their friends. He's like I can't take it anymore. I'm so bored. I guess I have nothing going on so I'm going to call this older married woman for an affair. WHO's by the way Mary to his father's business partner And they have a very awkward first first date slashing counter at a hotel where. He's super nervous so awkward he. Let's see they I ping like let alone. I mean them just even getting to the room. He is so awkward. Doesn't know how to interact with the front desk man because also back in that day they might have been like told to leave They have figured out. You know an unmarried couple is heading upstairs and Then when they're up there I mean it quickly goes to black but just like their initial and he dislike awkwardly puts his hand on her and just stands there and then walks away. And it's so cringe. Grinchey ed will. Apparently Dustin Hoffman. Felt very uncomfortable about that too and so he walked away laughing trying to cover it up and that's why he did did that in hit his head on the wall but in Bancroft just kept rolling so the scene ended up making it into the movie. Yeah that there's other moments like like that were totally born out of strange ways like The other thing that Benjamin would do is as little mannerism was when he would exhale when he was nervous like he makes us weird sound you know and that was something that Dustin Hoffman actually did because he was trying to mimic his brother so it like the director was really interesting. Like Kinda the conversation's they had about these different friend scenes and he was asking him questions. And there's interview that I found For the talk about it but the director was like so you know who someone that you emulate that you care about. He said my brother said okay. What does he do when he is nervous? Or when he's upset and so doesn't often starts mimicking that and it's like this breathing and he said okay. Now just go with that but south thinking about your brother and then that weird noise came out and director loved it and used it throughout the film all right so kind of cool is little baxter is about how they make it in but yeah I. I can't believe that the the banging his head against the wall was so weird and then Mrs Robinson is just like smoking a cigarette like nothing can faze her And they continue their affair through the summer and his parents start asking questions though they never are catch on basically. Where do you go every night? And why are you doing nothing with your life. What about graduate school? Why don't you call up Elaine Robinson? Listen and ask her out on a date. Don't don't on and he's like I really don't WanNa date the daughter of the woman. I'm sleeping with and finally mainly they pressure him so much they will. If you don't ask her out we'll just invite the whole family over and he's like oh no awkward so awkward so he asked Sat. Elaine is a pretty abysmal. Date in the beginning drives way too fast takes her to a strip club Yup and then end the stripper kind of picks her out because she's clearly uncomfortable and so she runs out crying and Benjamin follows her and then they have a pretty good date somehow after that they both kind of figure out there both feeling lost about their futures. And don't know what to do next and they kinda hit it off and Mrs Robinson is not not happy about that and happy. Yeah at all. She tells him well first of all she said. You shouldn't take out my daughter ever and then and she says you can never take her out again in a another famous scene where he drives up to pick a lineup for the second date Ams Robinson jumps in the car and says Dr Live. You are not seeing my daughter again. I will tell her everything and so- Benjamin decides to beat her to it and tell the lane and she promptly says above by. Yeah a little louder than that but yeah she's pretty upset. Yeah she goes back to school at Berkeley and and eventually after a while been decides. He's GonNa Marry Aline Shirt and she doesn't know this but he moves to Berkeley and just kind of follows her around ruins data the zoo yet get and then they talk it out and she says. My mother told me you raped her. And he's like Oh my gosh. When I heard that I was just like pause then why are you even talk like? How are you reacting so calmly if you think that this person raped your mother but of course back in the day was things? Were a little different as far as that wins not. I don't know that was that floored. Lord me he tells her that's not what happened somehow that means they could potentially start a romantic relationship ship which I'd be glad to know that didn't happen but at the same time I'm not about to start a relationship with a guy who has also sleeping with my mom but okay different strokes and she keeps kind of A. He keeps asking her. Can we get married. We get married. Can we get our blood tests. which which do you know what he meant about the blood test because back in the day people had to get blood tests to get married right? Yes yeah it was to check to see what if they wouldn't have that one type of pregnancy where the the baby's blood type isn't compatible with the mother's blood type you know no. I don't well it has to do with having children. I remember my mom telling me about how she and my dad had get blood tests like. That's so weird so weird. Yeah and she's like Nana maybe maybe kiss kiss cry cry. And he's like Pester Pester and then Elaine's dad comes around Mr Robinson which what a Weirdo Acting very strange and was like stay with my daughter and then suddenly Elaine is gone. Yeah and honestly I can't really blame him. He and Mrs Robinson or getting a divorce and I would not be a fan of ben either. Yeah I mean. It wasn't in his weirdness wasn't in what he was telling Benjamin. It was in how we acted like so sheepish. Like he was scared of Benjamin like stay away from me. unclench your fist in that. He's in Ben's apartment in Berkeley waiting for him in the dark. Yeah and he tells them. I've been here for a while. I can see just fine weird. Yeah and Benjamin. WHO's like nope? "Seven four six nine. I nine nineteen seventy four was a not so great year in the market and sixty nine I think was slightly down. So if I can just think of those what memory. So anyway, I got a lot of stuff on the docket today. Five more years, according to Oppenheimer for this business cycle. That's nice to know. And I picked up some really interesting stuff. I don't usually like all these economic stories, and how the market's going to do this and the market's going to do that. But I did pick up on a couple of things that are worthy of sharing. We'll try to get to that and a little bit. And then I saw an inconvenient truth and directed my attention to no, it wasn't Al Gore. It was the road to retirement means working longer. And I said to myself. Yup. What's wrong with that? Nothing wrong with having to work a little tiny bit longer. Now. There are some jobs where you just can't. But we might talk about that coming up this. I'm going to save for tomorrow because we will have Lynn roll here who is world famous when it comes to Alzheimer's and long term health care. Learn to speak Alzheimer's sounds like an odd odd, title guy, actually, Robert her stock is his name talks about his own personal experience with his mother as she was going through dementia for about ten years, do and it was very compelling. I read it all this morning. Because I've got a dad in a similar situation, and it was really insightful. We'll talk with Lynn about that tomorrow. This strategy can help investors save on taxes, by darla mcardle, fish, pretty bright too. By the way, Dr live read all for seven reader. middle east to visit the troops on u._s._o. shows three times i believe he's an amazing amazing american at bobby i we're gonna former senior associate director of admissions at the university of rochester host of the crush is a podcast about college admissions so that should be interesting i'm sure i'm sure that let's say it's david sweeney dan i can't quit get the name i'm sure in any event he is very much davin sweeney okay gavin swing i'm sure he is very much in demand presently with of course the scandal over college admissions and the next hour michelle hennessy president association deputy district attorney district attorney's on governor gavin newsom having put a moratorium on the death penalty it's very interesting problem the issue kind of intrigues me for californians voted to yeah there's there's abraham lincoln said the majority cannot decide with the majority cannot decide but you and i will have out about that about right now let's get your friend gary sinise in here gary welcome to the program hey thanks for having me it's such a privilege and i know you know each other someone to take over a little bit we want to talk about the lieutenant dan van and the concert for defenders yes and your book grateful american which i've started and i think i texted you this morning it's i'm so emotional because i i've known you for so long and enough traveled with you in senior interacting with our with our warriors are wounded warriors the families and and it makes me emotional especially now that my husband that you know is deployed but i love what you do for our country i love what you do for our warriors are first responders and their families just can you tell everybody how how did you make this year calling and what called you to helping our warriors on our first responders well thanks thanks for having me yes we go we go back a while leeann i met on a trip to iraq i actually write about in the book i don't know if you've gotten there yet but i haven't got to that part yet oh good i want two thousand two maybe three two thousand three maybe okay yeah yeah and there's there's so much in the book it kinda tracks my family history in the military and on my side of the family my wife side of the family many veterans distant cousins and uncles and brothers lawn you know sisters-in-law i mean it goes on and back in the early eighties i got very very involved with supporting various vietnam veterans organizations and things in the chicago area i'm veterans in my family and my wife's side and start began supporting them in various ways throughout the eighties and then then i got to play the vietnam veteran in forrest gump he was wounded veteran that really led me to start working with our wounded about twenty five years ago i started the book actually with a story about getting involved with the d._a._v. disabled american veterans organization after they invited me to their national convention back in nineteen ninety four when they saw forrest gump and i was planned wounded vietnam veteran and the d._a._v. represents almost two million wounded service members and at that time they were you know going all the way back to world war world war two and up to the gulf war at that point and i walked out on the on the stage and there were two thousand twenty five hundred wounded veterans gonna cheering for me for playing lieutenant dan and that'd began an association with the d._a._v. this lasted all these years and started me working with our wounded and then you know september eleventh was a was a real galvanizing terrible catalyst for getting much more involved with supporting our service members and i write about that in the book there's a a charity called turning point and really the book is that was a turning point for me the book is called you're grateful american a journey from self to service and it it kind of tracks the early years of what i was focused more on my self interest and acting and that kind of thing to the broader interest of serving others that happened really ramped up after september eleventh speaking to gary sinise of course founded the gary sinise foundation gary it it i just think that journey from self to service is something that cannot be over emphasized in our country particularly today do you have a sort of global philosophical approach to help people motivate to do that white so important well you know i don't try to tell people what to do in the book or anything like that i just tried this to say what i've been involved in what i've experienced over the years and and certain key moments and individuals that have changed my life changed the course of my life there there was a there was a real time where our family was going through a very very difficult challenges i write about it in the book and and how at a certain point i just felt called to do something was it like a like a spiritual moment like a bottom or something mobile like there were there was definitely a moment where i just kind of felt called in some way i remember we had been through a lot prior to september eleventh but after september eleventh i remember the the friday after the tuesday that we were attacked president bush kind of made that a national day of prayer and all across the country churches houses of worship everywhere we're just just filled to the gills people were looking for comfort wherever they could find it in our collective hearts were breaking and i know that my heart was terribly broken at that point and i was standing in the church because there was no places set and i just felt.

"So we stand together like a true community sometimes doctorate through the biggest crises of our lives and a sufficient number of members share in that cost. We cut the cheques to the doctors and hospitals out of that receiving members account, and we're following that methodology and paying one another's bills to the extent of thirty seven million dollars every month every single month. That's amazing. Think about that think about the laser being touched just because of that that gets me fired up. Dust. So this is not health insurance rights to talk about the difference between that because I know that with health sharing people get confused, it's not health insurance. And we don't want it to be right. We really don't it's voluntary it's cooperative. That's the primary distinction. We participated in it out of a ministry motivation to assist others, our dollars, go to another person. I it's only in the event we have our own medical expenses that those members assist us. And so it is reciprocal, but it's based upon that principle or that model of mutual aid, and mutual assistance, and frankly, I would contend it's the way medical bills were paid for long before the advent of modern insurance, if you I Dr lived one hundred years ago. Yeah. Medical bill. It's our neighbors. It's our community. It's the local church that would gather round us support the family. Enable or meet the emotional and spiritual needs as well as financial expenses. And we've simply taken that principle and turned it into a solution for healthcare. And that's that's what it's all about. And anyone can sign up anytime. Right. You don't have to be doesn't have to be during the enrollment period. Now in the new system this is completely separate. So you can you can literally sign up at any point at any time right gratefully because we're not insurance and we're exempt from the Affordable Care Act. We're not subject to that. Open enrollment calendar. So folks have a program not pleased with or dissatisfied with or have buyer's remorse. They can come..
