Heavy snowstorm takes aim at the Northeast
"On being joined by my friend and colleague, NBC 10 meteorologist Steve Sasa and Steve. It's just absolutely amazing the power of the storm. Can you explain to us because it's been a while the difference between a nor'easter him just a regular run of the mill snowstorm because this is different. Yes, nor'easters around here typically formed during this time of year you get into the late fall winter and early spring and what they are our coastal storms, But the wind direction with that, Because of the position of where the storm is, comes out of the north and east And typically you think of a nor'easter. You think big snow, big rain, big wind, and that's all the elements that the storm has along with that strong northeast wind, So that definitely falls into the category of a nor'easter. So it really just depends. Where you live. What? You're going to get out of this storm, and it really will be. Ah, variety of weather in Philadelphia right now we have heavy snow out through the suburbs. Have your snow in Westchester. Coatesville. Heavy snow now up to northeast Philly. Doylestown. You've seen the snow pick up now, Over the last hour or so you're visibly down to about 8 10 7 Mile and as far north as up in Berks County, So if you're doing any traveling from Philadelphia up through the suburbs right now, it is rather difficult in the reason why what we had temperatures slightly. Above freezing right around 10 11 o'clock in the morning, But as soon as that snow started coming down, it acted like Because what happens is is that rate of snow kind of overcomes the treatment on the roadway. And so that's why you confined this slippery spots. But right now on the radar picture, I'm seeing some very heavy stone fall right down your Chester on. I 95 right up through the airport. The heaviest band right now, though, is in northern Delaware, and that will be moving into Philadelphia within the next hour. With that blinding snowfall likely And eventually, as we move into the leader, afternoon hours, I'm talked about 45 o'clock. We're going to start to see some sleet mixing in and eventually maybe some freezing rain and plain old rain. On the I 95 corridor. So I'm talking about Chester, Philadelphia up to maybe the Northeast there, but north and west of there that snow and sleet may continue for a good while longer. So up through like lower marry in areas like Warminster over to Buckingham and down the Coatesville. You could stay snow all the way well through the evening hours and pick up several more inches of accumulation. So the long story short in this, It's going to be very messy, Sloppy travel. We have heavy right. And at the shore right now you're looking at wind gusts later this evening of 50 to 60 MPH. There could be some power outages even and around the Philadelphia area with the so the sleep and the freezing rain with wind gusts. 30 to 40 MPH. We may start to see some power outages to that would be after about five or six o'clock this evening through the early overnight hours. Make sure that you have your devices charged up a way to get information on this storm as it evolves, But the timeline it's here. Right now It's going to be pretty bad. Now. From now through, it's a leak deceive. Being and then we'll start to see things improve as we head into towards

Hugging Strangers to Improve Mental Health
"Biggest question that I want to ask you and I've really been looking came forward to this interview. How did you land on hugs? I mean of all the things in the world hugging just seems both so obvious and in so far away. Can you talk about this for a moment to. I'm for more than a moment. Actually we can do the whole interview and I grew up in a very nurturing featuring family Nobody left the house about hugs. And I love you. Nobody came back in without hugs. And I love you unlike a lot of people sadly You know a lot of people's homes touch was either violent. Coercive non existed limited sexual or not by consent in my home it was purely by consent and abundant so I told my parents. They raised me to do this kind of work and I came upon the free hugs movement. there's a gentleman named one man people want to Google that it's J. U. A. N. A. N.. And one day he went into his towns. Wear with time that said free hugs. He moved there. I believe from England and as lonely and nothing like twenty minutes by nobody came up to him. People walk by. Look I'm like what the heck is this weird guy doing. And then this older woman came up to him and they the embraced and then people started gathering around and a movement was worn in two thousand fourteen. Valentine's Day weekend. I brought a group of friends to Thirtieth Thirtieth Street station. Which is the big train station? PHILADELPHIA We let ourselves loose or about a dozen of us who've walked around the train station with our free hugs signs offering people love and we did a free hugs flash mob. And it's only by consent. We didn't kamikaze hug anybody. We didn't go grab people we asked. Would you like a hug. And if they said yes. We'd Hug Ugh them. And if they'd say no we'd say thank you hope somebody one of the people that approach us was a gentleman who was in Iraq war vet. He was the only survivor of his platoon. The tune is any ED survivor's guilt and he said I thought about ending my life until I met you. People can join you so of course we gave them a sign and he was off to the races himself and I thought wow we've really got something here. Hugs save lives and I hadn't realized how much so until a few months later on my way home from the gym I had a heart attack at at age fifty five and it's part of my cardiac rehab. I walked around Doylestown Pennsylvania which is closer to home that Villi doing free hugs roles because hugs is our heart friendly not just cardiac friendly but emotionally heart friendly and they connect US heart to heart. So friends started calling. This hug mobsters and said Oh mobsters mafia guns drug van Yeah. I don't think so. What about hug mobsters armed with love and the movement was? I can't say it was born but it was extended beyond what one man did so I do it any everywhere I can. That is incredible and I love everything about it and my favorite phrase in there might be. We aren't hug kamikazes. I come from a loving family as well. We're huggers I always tell people that I am a hugger and kamikaze hugs again. My new favorite phrase that awesome. We hug I mean people just charge you and hug you in my family but of course that's my family. I'm on a first name basis with all of these people. How does this work in the real world? I was like man. If you just like grab people that seems like a really bad idea but if you just walk up to a stranger and say can I give you a hug. I'M NOT GONNA lie. That also seems like a really bad idea. How how were you? Bridging those gaps. Well couple of things particularly in the era of Hashtag Metoo. We want to be really careful about how we touch people bull because anything can be misinterpreted and on the flip side. We want to be sure that we don't buy into touch deprivation that so much a part. You've comparison culture there. The kamikaze hugs even people in my life. If I'm not sure if they WANNA hug will give you a hug. Would you like to hug. And when when I'm out on the street I mean hugged mobster. Sign helps people look at it like okay. What is that or if I how are you sign that says free hugs or if I were t shirt that indicates that I'm doing free hugs? Hugs when I do it out on the street somewhere like I was in Washington. DC hugging in front of the White House and there were people from all over the world all different cultures some of them Hug Your cultures and others and even that you know I was approached people and say may I give you a hug or would you like to share a hug. Some people are hungry for it. I don't say no thank you now. Now good when they think no. I don't want it to good. And they say no you're good but hug somebody So yeah it does kind of weird and culturally sadly because cousin woman it's less threatening because I've had male friends do hugs throws with me and some of them are a little leery about reaching out to hug people so this is changing aging the culture teaching touch culture changing relationship culture. I remember early on in my career for those. Who Don't know I'm six foot three? I'm two hundred seventy five pounds. I'm broad shoulders. I'm just a giant of a man and as I mentioned my family are all huggers and when I first got started people would just come up and hugged me and and I. I loved that that was amazing to me and as I got more comfortable in my role as a speaker and a presenter and public figure for lack of a better word I started randomly hugging people. Back I work in mental health. So there's more women than men but one time I went in for a hug and somebody put up their hand and said no no no. I'm I'm not a hugger in. You should be careful Gabe because people have a history of trauma. People don't like that. I mean you you know you're a man coming in and I thought about that for a moment and now I have the phrase are you a hugger and that that's what I say you know people come up and they talk to me and they're like you know gay Blah Blah Blah and I'm like oh are you a hunger and I opened up my arms terms and if they say no I'm not I say well I'm giving you a mental hug or I'm hugging you in our mind and I reach out my hand or I shake their hands ends or just do whatever they want. But you're right. This idea. That hugging is natural has sort of a weird for me. I'M NOT GONNA lie because I think that a hug. There's just something that you do for everybody whereas other cultures kissing hello is perfectly normal and I think that's very weird so are the majority of people receptive over or are the majority of people not receptive like what's your ratio there. How many people accept the hugs? Okay well most Are Receptive Nice when I first started doing the More people said no because I was uncertain anytime you approach someone with a new idea. The more confident you are the more people are going to be receptive because they sense that energy now a few people they know they thank you. Thanks for taking care of yourself. Not Everybody he is into this and I will do that like if I'm meeting somebody and they'll hold out their hands. I think that's the way you said. Are you a hugger. And Oh yes then. I'll hug them and they say no. And I we'll think hand and when people see not physical embrace of their you cool with handshake high five this bomb virtual hug. Wrap my arms around myself and imagine hugging down and usually they'll say yeah There are times when I've hugged hundreds of people in a day I go to different events like this summer. There were four pride fest and I probably hugged a few hundred people to out full day. I don't keep track. Somebody said Oh you should have a clicker. I don't WanNa do that. Because it takes away from the quality of what I'm doing quantity to doesn't much matter. No it's the impact ripple effect. I'm not totally out trysted. I do it for myself too because because it helps me feel connected to the world when I hug people. I don't know what their politics are. They voted for. I don't know what the religion is. Unless they tell me I don't know what their aired their gender orientation or sexual orientation is and it doesn't matter I just want the world to be a kinder more loving place and if hugged can help with that. I'm all on board with it. The next question that I want to ask is surrounding the worst case scenario you said that the majority of people are accepting the hugs. You've talked about the people who don't want hugs or just like oh no thank you and you say hey you should hug somebody today and they say okay and they wander off. Have you gotten any truly bad reactions. Has Anybody just flipped out. Never know somebody's now. I'm not really into hugs or no. Thank you know. I've never had that but again I think it's because I'm a five foot four inch women. Yeah I have purple hair sometimes and I wear colorful clothing. So I'm not particularly threatening but the coolest things that come out of this. Are the types the people that have had yet. I celebrate the anniversary of my heart attack. The brand new life experience and I always do a free hugs girl on the third party. Adversity a friend of mine. His filmmaker followed me around South Street in Philadelphia and there was this beautiful Muslim woman dressed in full hejab. Her her face wasn't covered. But our head and eh comes up to me and she offers me a hug and she says and who wouldn't want to hug and she's you know kind of gesturing and moving your body around who wouldn't WanNa hug and some people. Don't they say that you know. They don't want them and she liver finger pointing at me and she says even somebody they don't they don't want them they need them and I thought if the people who balch hatred did this beautiful woman who was probably in her forties. I'm guessing talking about the power of hugs to connect people and the the needs that they need. They couldn't possibly hate though. I think that's part of it. The other thing that's important to children when their children around that I offer a hug to later the parent if it's okay with you and okay with your child may help your child if the parent says yes and the Child Says No. I don't touch them and I'll say the child. Nobody touches you without your permission. So it okay that you're saying no when I was in. DC there was a family firm of Dominican Republic and it was a mom dad and probably like a seven or eight year old boy and he didn't want hugs. If I said okay we can do this bumps or high fives and he did both of those so a few minutes later before I left he approaches me and opens his arms so he was asking me for a hug. So I'll continue educator and this is about consensus. Well

Did he think that it was his wife? No during the reception he was hitting on her. So he's married for maybe an hour, and he's like. A bear sweet boobs or whatever. And then and so she she'd kind of spurns his advances. She goes into a bathroom. He follows her and sexually assault or in the bathroom now. Yep. So we're not just talking about a a douchebag who's willing to Chee. We're talking about a sexual predator. Who is committing a crime? Right. I mean there there's a there's a big gap between just achieve. Sure. So adultery. Yeah. Yeah. No, it's bad either way. But I'm just saying men cheat on their wives regularly sexually assaulting a teenage waitress in the bathroom is worse than that. Correct. Much worse. But ladies or guys on the cop to it love to hear how soon after the wedding, you straight. There's probably for the most part you can say like two types of cheaters maybe three one being the type like this who is probably a sexual predator. He was going to take it. Whether she wanted to have more not to being the kind where somebody falls in love with somebody else or like. Real feelings come about or a moment of passion and the third being the guy who's just always going to cheat. They're never going to be happy with one person. And they're always going to find, you know, find something somewhere. So sure this guy's probably the the worst kind of predator kind. I would say so like just wants to get married for selfish reasons wants to have somebody there for him or whatever. And then as soon as the rings on her finger. He's out there sexually assaulting a waitress seventy seven five seven nine hundred eighty five or are you John? Guess not. Hello caller. From the eight one three. And then a seven three one. "Leo laporte. Is it doylestown doylestown doylestown doylestown? I gotta right. I don. Hi. What can I do for an old, computer? Yes. On the internet. It just has a database on it. Okay. Running windows ninety eight. And those were the days. My dad had this computer information on it, which I need to get off of it. I shut the computer down question the normal shutdown mode, but didn't go all the way off. So I I just shut the power off. Okay. And when I started it back up starts to start up. And then I get a message. It says replace the disk, and Chris any Kiko boy that doesn't help doesn't do anything. No. Of course. Not. So it's older hard-drive eventually wears at all hard drives. We're out if they have spinning media, actually, I think it's safe to say all hard drives where eventually the problem is you don't know when it could be months. It could be a year. It could be ten years. It could be one hundred years. You just don't know when it's gonna wear out. Sounds like yours. Might have hit its life span doesn't mean all the data's gone though. And you want that data I understand what you said it's a database is a database program that he was using. Or is it just a a file with a lot of data? That's program. It's called Q and A. Okay. Yeah. I know QNA. So now, I can when I started up I can cross F one. Yup. Bios setup utility. Yup. But I don't know what to do when I get there. Nothing. Your hard drive. Is you know that that's not on the drive. That's in a non volatile memory. It's called the firmware the computer so you can get that far. But you can't get windows to boot up and that probably now, here's the there's a variety of things that could be wrong. The hard drive could be completely dead that Q and A database gone all of that. Or let's say it's not let's hope it's not you didn't make a backup. Did you have this vital database you? Not really, okay. All right. Lil? Yeah. Yeah. That's so so but with any luck it did what most drives do most. Dr just long Di most drives start to fail over time. And what happens is maybe some of the critical sectors where the windows operating system lives have died, but the data in the database hasn't. Let's hope let's I'm crossing my fingers. So how would you fix this? Well, you would first of all stop trying to boot it up. It's not gonna go anywhere in the more. You use this drive. You know, the potential for making it worse is there. So let's stop that. What you can do those to open up the computer take drive out. Do you have another computer? Yes. Okay. So what you'd like to do is put if you had a tower case? Now, I'm saying this is an old computer says probably an ID drive, which means you know, modern computer doesn't even have the cables to read that. So you're going to have to do some research you're going to have to figure out what's going on. But but what? You're going to what you could do is connect that drive to new computer or bring it to somebody. Who knows what they're doing this? And it all likelihood I can't promise this. But in all likelihood as long as it, Dr isn't dead, you can get that database off that file now QNA store store, which by the way, I use QNA was a great database in the day. They store the data in a single file. And so you probably can find that database. The actual file. And then what you'd want to do is copied onto a new computer in a new drive. But then you're going to have the second problem, which is that there is I don't think you can run Q and A on a modern computer anymore. Let me just see with the latest version of QNA was released in nineteen ninety eight. Which means there's no way they made it working on a modern windows, ten computer. So what you're going to want is something that converts Acuna database into something. Something more modern can read for future reference. I know it's too late for you now, but a never rely on an old drive. They're gonna die always even knew drive have backups copies of everything. And when you're using old software like this thirty year old software. Bob star twenty year old software. It would behoove you to export the data out of it. At least make a copy of the database file the best thing to do was as long as q&a is still running to open up your data and export it into something. That is more that can be read by other programs. Now there used to be a program called sesame that. Was designed to take over for QNA. I think it's still available from a company called land Tikka L A N T I C A. So what you're going to now have to do. I I thing you gotta do most important is that database that file off of the old computer and the old hard drive onto a new hard drive in a new computer just intact. Second thing. The next thing you have to do right after that. Is start doing some research on how you can extract the data from it. Databases like you. I keep files in unfortunately, proprietary formats that if you try to open it in a modern program probably you couldn't do. So let me see Lanta LAN TIC a dot com. Is still around they still make the sesame database manager. And I believe it will stem looking at it. We'll still read QNA databases. So you may be in luck. Just by you know, I mean, honestly, if if anybody else is in this situation running an old computer backup, your data put it on a new computer, and as best you can you have the old program export it into a format that can be read by others. Sometimes they call one of the formats of comma separated values or CSV, I bet you QNA wood exported.

"Gonna see a deal before the summit maybe there's some work happening behind the scenes away from the president's twitter account and away from these very sort of incendiary moves that he's making on the border that can work itself out over the weeks to come but not necessarily something that we're expecting to see in the next few days mask conservatives convinced the president to save nafta you know this administration is full of people who support it but it also has a lot of people who are against it it does not speak with one voice on this issue trump has given us every indication for his entire adult life that he is a protectionist by conviction and people have been trying to talk about of each of the steps he's already taken so i would not be confident about nafta survival and i think one of the reasons you're seeing the markets react the way they're reacting it's not each individual tariff that the president is announced is going to be so destructive but people don't like where this is going and they're uncertain about where it's going markets ford looking indicator and their bedding at this is going downhill that's right we gotta to take a commercial break we'll be back with more from our panel a moment here's some information you can earn royalty points at b dubs with blazinrewards hurry you can earn these points by eating wings wraps burgers and more plus like qb's top receiver bdubs has the perfect wing sauce pairing for everyone's pallet with twentyone signature sauces and seasonings start earning points with blazin rewards and start earning today only at buffalo wild wings wings beer sports please drink responsibly pine run community in doylestown has been serving bucks county families for over forty years their community is buzzing about earning medicare's highest ratings for skilled nursing rehabilitation services as well as winning raves for patient satisfaction worthy the you have an upcoming knee replacement serious for seizure or unexpected hospitalization pike run works as a solution for all generations in the family planning tour today by calling roxana a two one five three four zero five two zero two or online at pine ron dot org word on wellness a message from lord's health system hi i'm alan pope chief medical officer for the lord's health system our lady of lords medical center is the.
