"BIEBER's are threatening to take legal action against Dr Daniel Barrett. This tiktok video suggesting Haley has had some cosmetic enhancements. Take a look. I think it's physically impossible without getting a little bit of help from someone like myself to go from this picture to that picture and I'll tell you why take up the position of the knows the Dourson how refined it is in two thousand sixteen and how much smaller the tip is from two thousand eleven to two thousand sixteen that doesn't happen from puberty or roaming mortgage before you say anything. We reach out to our legal team to just figure out what we could say. As long as we express it as an opinion and not affect. We're allowed to say my opinion is that I need to get my nose done. That's really the only opinion I have on that matter. I mean whether Haley did or did not do anything to her nose. Quite frankly is her own business and if she did good for her because she looks unbelievable and she if she didn't. I'm also fine with that as well. I don't care if she's gotten the surgery or not but I just don't understand why they would sue him first of all. Let's talk you know what I mean like it's a tick top at people say stuff on social media all the time I feel like their time could be better served doing something else. It's almost a compliment. Like even if people ask me all the time if I got my nose done I take a compliment. I don't think I have or not me to ideal at all. The time won't second. It's just natural. I can't help. That looks like this does present an interesting like morality dilemma for young people. You know had it or not. It is her business but is there world which you should if you are an influence your looks are a big part of what your audience loves about you. Should you have to be honest about stuff like that? I don't know I mean it's not gonNA happen like it's not going to happen at people are completely dishonest with how they look Especially when it's on social media is a part of once you have people nitpicking. How beautiful you are. Yeah is I feel like it's par for the course of people expect you to be perfect and if you don't the other thing. She denies it. You know she can do whatever she wants. She looks beautiful. As far as I'm not sure looks good. I mean you know you look good girl. Whatever way you got they get there now. That all that matters you are dare. He committed

"Bruce St James and panelists us. I don't know what could possibly happen next when we're thinking about the zone of prisons, that would make someone go. Okay. Now I've seen enough. Don't say that, but say what could possibly come out next? This is a this is a story that has been unraveling like peeling the onion and tears flowing down people's faces you had the. Prison the dourson lock and then they padlocked them. And then they well we had prisoners and guards attacked. You had them start moving people out of it. Now, new leaked video to ABC fifteen shows the inmates are running the asylum in every way, shape or form. And that is the story we've been getting now for quite some time ever since investigative reporter, Dave biscuit being over at ABC fifteen got some leaked footage, and this was of the prison guards and inmates being attacked because of the locks, not locking. Right. But like you said the layers of the onion, we just keep peeling them back their latest player. Yeah. We spoke earlier in the show to Dave biscuit, being with ABC fifteen about these leaders videos videos of inmates in a maximum security, prison setting fires, and corrections officers not doing anything about it. I mean it starts with a single fire inmates upset about something passable. Because now this I want people to keep in mind, this a maximum. And security unit. In me the most. System, our units like this one. So there should be freedom of movement. See. Through rock. But there are doors on these. Open medication. Things like that. Those are broken image. Deal will watch the video, and you can see how much control and can cause over a half her. Now they repeatedly set tires on their mattresses, other material, faxes papers, and Burnham, Weicker, campfires outside of their cells. Three four feet high in the air. And. Standard. I mean it's chaos, and it's like an accepted normalized reality that person anything was going, and they just stood by and watch apparently we learned from, Dave biscuit, being why the corrections officers, which you can see in these videos clearly of which we tweet it out at bruceandpamela. If you want to see them for yourself at times, four, five corrections officers, which are very easily distinguishing, these videos from prisoners wearing orange jumpsuits. Stood by and watched it. You say that they were they were told to write, and you can even see in the video, some of them were quite frustrated that they were just standing around these officers they were told to stand down, essentially that the deputy warden at the time and the ward and at the time knew what was going on and told them, let them get it out of their system. Maybe we can get this kind of self contained for we have to call. What's known as an ICS and incident. Command system, are basically launch a critical incident task to bring in the Calvary and clean this all up and put an end to it, which would have been done at minute. One. It has to go up chain. And I think that there was a fear based on all the stuff that's going wrong at Lewes prison that they didn't want to do that, that they were trying to minimize as much as possible. Here's that prison is out of control. Okay. So these videos again, at bruceandpamela, you want to check them out for yourself happened in November of last year. K you heard, Dave say they're the former warden and the former deputy warden at the time. Yesterday. Both of those individuals retired. Oh, that's a helluva Quinson. So the day the video comes out of inmates running a maximum security pod is the MAC the cult, the rast max unit. Yeah. Because how could anyone in the profession of corrections, officer, warden, etc? Look at this and say, yeah, that's how we run prisons. Well, a lot of the experts that they went to for this piece. We're also quite surprised by what they saw the honest, they were flabbergasted, they basically indicated that they've never seen something so out of control so chaotic and yet so accepted. They don't believe that anything like this happens anywhere else, except right here in Arizona. Yeah. Satellite. No, no. And it shouldn't be a list that we're on. And it's not a list that we should ever be. Okay on. So what's being done about this? We know that when the first videos of the officer of the corrections officers being attacked the inmate. Lost their life, the locks not working all of that. And you say officer officers being attacked attacked by, like ten twelve inmates running out of their cells that there's a locked and piling on. The fact that that happened. And now this and now this, and then this, the governor says that he was going to tap to former supreme court justices to in the state of Arizona to investigate and Davis giving from ABC fifteen requested, their contracts to see what exactly. Are they going to be looking at? What's the scope go? Yeah. They haven't been signed yet. This contract agreement started investigating anything. There you go. So where are we going with this? I mean, they're like, what why? But that's my point. What, what video would you see next to make you go? Wow. Now, we're re now it's really serious. And what could the director of corrections in the state of Arizona, Chuck Ryan, possibly do to make you believe he's got this under control absolutely nothing at this point, especially since the warden, the deputy warden didn't want to make this critical issue because they appear to be concerned at the time of what the director would do. It seems that there's a lot of fear regarding the director. Why is that? And why hasn't he been out in front of this doing more about it? How does that goes to have a job?.

"Law could affect millions of Americans right before the twenty twenty election. I'm Terry Moore on Capitol Hill twenty two till former FBI director James Comey says he's puzzled by special counsel, Robert Muller's decision to stop short of a decision on obstruction of Justice in an interview with NBC news Comi pointed to a TV. The interview in which President Trump said he considered what he called this Russia thing when he fired Komi, I thought that's potentially obstruction of Justice. And I hope somebody is going to look at that. Again, the president appears to be saying, I don't know what's in his head. Which is why can't reach the conclusion he appears to be saying is I got rid of this guy to shut down an investigation that threatened me. Of course, Trump has claimed complete and total exoneration in the Russia investigation at at twenty one till jimbohannon takes it from here. Well, thank goodness. That's out of the way. Some people are saying that I'm sure as regards the release of at least part of the Muller report. But of course, that is not the end of potential hurdles for Donald Trump and to help us look at some of what those may be our guest is a veteran attorney, David dourson. He is a former assistant US attorney in the southern district of New York. And formerly assistant chief counsel of the Senate Watergate committee do offer some thoughts. About these legal hurdles, Mr. Dorsett is also the author of a number of books, including most recently Bose's versus Trump a contemporary novel. All right. First of all of the southern district of New York where you served as an assistant US attorney. We hear much about the issue of the president paying hush money to stripper stormy Daniels, and the made the I had heard was question whether that amounted to an unreported campaign contribution, your thoughts about that as a legal issue. Well, I think that's correct. And I believe it's there's a more serious problem which has not been booted about and that is whether it was a violation of the internal revenue laws because the matter was set up as a fake payment from Trump to Michael cone, and who's paid extra money till the four hundred twenty thousand dollars so that the payment could be treated as a deductible expense that to me is potentially more serious. Donald trump. It's quite possible. If US attorney's office is looking into and could spell problems, I gather that at least one possible outcome of such a case would be either the the president being forced to release some tax returns. Or as you noted when you appeared on my nighttime talk show, the US attorney for the southern digital New York simply getting a copy, which would be within his powers. That's right with you could sense of certain people in the Justice department. But it's rather routine when there's a serious allegation of income tax evasion for the local United States attorney's office, or if it's handled in Washington appropriate branch of the Justice department to requisition the returns, it's not done lightly. But if there's a credible. Ican facts violation investigation is done as a matter. Of course, you also indicate that you believe the attorney general of the state of New York could be problematic for the president. That's correct. There are two state organizations dot one district attorney for Manhattan both of who can do serious damage to Donald Trump and his family over such things as the filing of phony or false. Financial statements to secure loans with banks or the Trump foundation, which has been accused of a number of. Improprieties, and has been shut down by the attorney general one can assume that there will be continuing investigations from the democratically controlled house by the likes of say, the intelligence committee chair Adam Schiff for the judiciary chair, Jerry Nadler. I would agree with the assessment that you made on my nighttime show that it's very unlikely now or at least unlikely that there will be a formal articles of impeachment voted in any event. There's not the the votes available in the Senate for conviction, but how much trouble do you expect for the president coming out of congress? Well, it's hard to say, I I don't think it's the most serious problem. And I think with you finding by Muller of no collusion. I don't think that will discourage if not prevent impeachment inquiry, which is not only good news for the president. But I think better news for the Democrats who now can turn to more productive work and not be. Penalized by voters for an obsession with Donald Trump. How do they back away from that? I mean that would be quite a pure wet. I know politicians are adept at that. But that would be truly a breathtaking. I don't think so because that's you Pelosi has said that her priorities are not in that direction. And I think she has and she just simply say that the more important things to do. And as I mentioned on your show, my latest information, and I cannot give a hundred percent is that many many Americans still believe there was collusion. They were certainly improper conduct by the Russians that's acknowledged. And that many Americans feel that the president should own up to it, which he has in his never, criticized. Russia's attempt and has relied on Putin overs. Own intelligent people for valuations which strikes me as very very worrisome. Interesting in this context is your. Novel Moses versus Trump a contemporary novel. What's that about that's about a libel case against Donald Trump and evangelical magazine in which they are sued because they made accusations against the lawyer, and it is more timely than ever because with the end of the Muller investigation. I think civil suits will play a larger role intra Donald Trump's life because those are not impeded by constitution. David dourson of council with Sedgwick L L P and the author of Moses versus Trump a contemporary novel sixteen till coming up winning ticket sold and on this spring.

"Welcome back to Jim Bohannon show. Eight six six five O, JIMBO our number David dourson and with the Billy in Oxnard, California. Hello, Billy wealth. And I want you to know that we're regular listeners. We appreciate you very much. Thank you. That's very kind of you. Do you have a question or comment for our guest? Yes. I certainly do Mr David your by is seems very clear to me. That Clinton Obama administration had clear pay for play. An I feel like molar is aiding the Bush has. Communist witchhunt. Well, I don't know that we would call it a communist witch hunt. I would it for my money. I would agree that we are talking about a shifted emphasis, David Dorset. But as you pointed out, the the I in many cases, the failure to pursue. That was a failure on the part of a Republican administration. And I certainly have no answer for that. I'll make one other comment. I am biased and it may affect by judgment. But I try my best. I bet it democrat all my life, and I freely admit that I might be biased. But I'm trying my best. Now one thing we may see is the investigation of the Trump foundation. And the Trump organization is underway in the southern district of New York. Five years that to me that investigation has the potential to be a lot more serious than the Muller investigation. Am I wrong? You're absolutely right. And I just remind the caller look at the newspapers year from now and see whether she wishes that the whole thing, including Hillary Clinton would have just gone away. Because I think what the Trump administration does Trump administration the Trump organization you nor committee did Trump. Trump charity was much much worse than was even alleged with respect to the Clinton and Hillary Clinton and Obama activities at what did the Trump administration sell forty percents of our uranium? Did they take a hundred and forty million dollars from the Russians that the Clinton foundation was President Trump paid half a billion dollars to give a speech in Moscow? I don't believe. So I think you'll see a lot more on the first of all I think there's the situation a little bit more complicated with what you said. Although I recognize again where the prosecutors this. I have no answer for that. They're not bending over backwards. Flood clinton. Well, I'll put it this way. The evidence is such and we've done interviews on this program such that that you would trip over the incriminating evidence if you actually looked into it. So I have no answer for why they have not except I well, I have no answer. I I will not go down the path of either laziness or or or taking bribes. But it's hard to find another rational explanation. Kids out. I don't have an answer. And I wish I did. I wish maybe you could find somebody who can explain, but I do not. But I I do not for one minute by the notion that they looked really hard and could find nothing. I don't buy that for one minute. I've spent too much time on these things Brian Jamestown, New York. Hello. In your guest bias. But he's already answered that question. So I put it this way. I think that he has a viewpoint, but I don't believe that it has seriously shaded his his his discussion tonight. I Brian for example, have no answer for why a Republican administration has not pursued this against Hillary Clinton two years in the bed administration. Do you like to question is birth? Veracity or as eyesight when he says that there was no guns drawn on the Roger stone. I meant to bring that up far as I'm concerned, it was it was reminiscent of the Waco arm takeover, or El Chapo being taken back into custody. I mean, it was definitely meant to be intimidation with having the newsreels running an armed men. You would have sent some paper shelters in there. Maybe a couple of guys with you know, plainclothes officers you didn't you don't have fifteen swat guys going to somebody calls. I don't think they were. They were FBI agents in regular, Ed. They definitely had web. I think you're right. I misspoke, but let me say this. I think what they did as far as I know. I know one who's experienced the said otherwise was standard operating procedure. You remember during the when they were trying to return some boy from Cuban boy to Cuba, and in Florida, and in Bush, w W Bush election Elian Gonzales, thank you. They had guns. They're with a kid. You think he needed a gun with a twelve year old kid certainly other cases involving white collar crimes certainly going back to the financial collapse of eight right? I wish did not involve this kind of activity. I mean, surely you must concede. This was designed to intimidate that was absolutely the goal. Whether you think that's a worthwhile goal or not. That was absolutely the point. We wanted made clear that we're going to intimidate the hell out of people that was the ports very possible. I obviously, I don't know from personal knowledge, and I wouldn't argue that point all right to Andy in Butler Pennsylvania now. Good evening. Andy. Good evening, Mr. Bohannon personal question earlier about one you could lie to like a judge and stuff the answer to that question would be when you're a democrat. Also, your David you said one of the president said knock their heads. They're putting them into the car. You took that literally. And then you find it funny. When Republicans talked about the rate house, so just to be clear you in agreement with the president on knock their heads. When you put them in the car. No, no, no, no, no not. Apparently, you will know he he is definitely not me just say Donald Trump, literally, let's face. It is not a profitable pursuit in many cases. He engages in hyper when he clears his throat. That's pretty good kindly. Yeah. Probably it. But that doesn't alter the fact that this was the Roger stone case was intimidating, pure and simple. What quick question before we go to the break the recourse because I would find the best lawyer I could buy. In an effort to sue because that was totally unnecessary in my view. Well, if you have a basis, pursuing I personally don't think so I know, but but what do you have a basis if he thought so too? Well, I say I think so I don't think he would have to get very far. I have trouble showing that he does. We'll see we'll see about how many other white-collar arrests in all of this kind of activity. I'll be be following that very very carefully mortar com. "We are getting set for action here at Penn State. And you know, what you mentioned Joe. And coach Michael mentioned to me is well, we really do expect the Nittany lions to combat like a ball on fire. The first five minutes gave for them. They had this game circle is a win last year. They beat Rutgers sixty to forty three and scored twenty three points tonight off turnovers that was really the difference in the game. Turn over Nali over for the tournament, easy, baskets, as you said Stevens is a really good at that and read excellent player one of the leaders in the country. Steals was very quick aggressive team. Very physical team. They tend to foul a lot. Very good team athletic and experience wise, they start three juniors senior sophomore one freshman and purchase pointed in the year. They've had so course, but they want to make a run at the end. They've done in the past for Rutgers assist. Taking that initial blow. Just the one and the opening tip one by Rutgers. It was Dorsey Watkins in the circle Rutgers will operate left to right here in the first half. They wear their black jerseys. "I appreciate you taking the time. Let's start with the dreaded two part question. It's bad form. But you can handle it who would you vote for to win the league MVP award part B who do you think's going to win it? I would vote for drew Brees. And I think drew Brees will win it. And I think Patrick Mahomes. Here's the bonus part. I think Patrick Mahomes will be voted offensive player of the year. All right. So they're splitting the baby nothing wrong there. The view from Vada right now because everything's about gambling sharpies in Vegas. Still say Mahomes has the slight edge. I'm with you. That was the whole point of my monologue for ten minutes. I would go with drew Brees. What's your rationale for dourson him? He carried the team the first half of the season and the defense got attacked together. Other than last week when they gave up the twenty eight to Pittsburgh in the previous six games right made giving up a combined seventy four points about twelve game. They're they're balanced football team. He's had an amazing year in terms of completion percentage. They have won a lot of for instance, in the span of seven days they want to twelve nine and a thirty one twenty eight. So I put all that together. And he's the leader of the team is the clear leader of the team. Again, it's a very balanced offense to that. Balance began last year. He doesn't have to put up electrified numbers. The rental all ask you, this is does anybody really wanna be NFL MVP? Yes. Get get into the curse of winning the league MVP award that go back to Kurt Warner a lifetime. The league MVP was a Super Bowl champion same year outstanding knowledge. But I thought we don't talk about curses, and Billy goats and all that stuff anymore because the cubs finally won the World Series. A different sport. Well, no, that's true. We also don't talk about that dreaded Owen to start that everybody talks. This is the by the way, this is the sixth consecutive year, Brian that at least one team started NFL season Owen to and is going to reach the playoffs. This year the bears in the Texans. The Texans at the first team in twenty years ago when three and reached the postseason so a lot of those old time long dreaded streaks some of them come to an end. But again point out, the MVP one also point out this one no team and disappear. Abby pertained right now to Patrick Mahomes and Ben Rothlisberger. We're after in passing yardage. No, no players ever leave the NFL and passing won the Super Bowl the same year. I'm just soaking in the knowledge here Russ you blow me away. It's Russell Baxter. Pro football, guru dot com. Well, let's compare what's going on in New Orleans to Pittsburgh. Let's say the saints had a balloting for team MVP and Michael Thomas wanted while that that would be understandable. He's a dynamic playmaker. She would happen in Pittsburgh today. The Steelers players voted for their team MVP. They voted for juju. Smith Schuster, even though Antonio Brown had better numbers. And I'm going to point out. Ben Rothlisberger didn't win it. And my takeaway was apparently this is my guess some his teammates don't like the fact that the quarterback calls them out continuously. How do you see it? I wouldn't put that patch things at all, you know. And we've seen you know, it's not always the quarterback who does get the team MVP. But it kind of is his Pittsburgh season, which has been as much about dramas. It has been about football. And there seems seemingly every something every. Eweek fire Tomlin, Ben be quiet. Antonio brown. Not getting enough passes the bottom quarter one hundred asses, but. Junior. Smith Schuster has really had a dynamite year in terms of an overall player. I know in Tokyo Brown has fifteen touchdowns. But you I mean the catchy made two weeks ago against New England plays he made and ironic enough. He winds up winning team MVP actor, you know, how being upset he was after the game or during the game. After that that cost we fumble in the fourth quarter against the saints. Exactly. That speaks to not only his popularity within the locker room. But also the impact he's had. Remember there were a lot of question marks. If he was a play that game. And he went on social media saying despite the injury he was not going to let the fantasy owners down. We're talking NFL with Russell Baxter from pro football dot com. Russ the Philadelphia situation is fascinating dare I say Philadelphia story for another contemporary reference. Eagles are dead yet. And they have a shot here because they're playing Washington and there'll be Josh Johnson under center minute. Sota hosting Chicago Bears. Still have something to play for Vikings lose eagles win. They are going to the playoffs. I wanna talk about the off season as you know, Nick foles has a mutual option with the team if they exercise it he is going to get twenty million dollars as the backup next year. Because Carson Wentz is still playing under the terms of the rookie contract. He's only gonna make about four or five. So if you put the total together twenty five million dollars at the quarterback position would the backup and foles getting twenty million dollars of it doesn't make much sense. Where do you think foles is going to be playing next year? Well, we thought about this after the Super Bowl would they deal him, which I thought was kind of funny. You know, let's not forget Carson Wentz got hurt last December. In fact, there's been a lot of speculation that you know, maybe they just did Russia back a little and you'll remember Nick foles didn't exactly light up Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No, he was lousy the first two weeks. But everything cages apparently when he gets to December January. Yeah. Absolutely. And the eagles are gonna this is so funny for defending Super Bowl champion. The eagles are going to try to do something Sunday haven't done all year win games in a row. Wow. You know, so but listen in this day and age and for maybe the most decade or so which is why New England doesn't so mazing get in get in the tournament. And see what happens, and, you know, what's be honest other than the same. Who really scares you out there this year in either conference in terms of a playoff team? I know some people say the ravens the way they're playing at right now that is if the ravens get in. I seem to recall. You remember last year when the ravens were four and five and then they won five out of six, and then they hosted the Bengals and all winning. Winning the playoffs. Yes. And then they were partying in buffalo. Because they backed in go in the playoffs for the first time since nineteen ninety nine. Yeah. And this year, you know, the the Baltimore Ravens were four and five and then one five next six and all you have to do is beat the Browns at home and get the playoffs. I believe that's called symmetry Murray. Talk. I got you babe. Let's cue it up Ross as we say goodbye because we're not going to chat for a while in this program. And I normally don't deviate from sports, but I want to because it's the holiday season. I admire your approach on social media. You re tweet you encourage people. And I think that's also a byproduct of your personality. How did you come up with that philosophy on social media? I just look at it this way, Bryan. It's a new way to communicate. So why stifle yourself? We have so many avenues now in terms of communication. We forgot to talk to each other. And I just we I write like, I talk, and I tweet like I talk and I do radio talk. So it's for me. It's pretty simple now there are there's a faction of people out there and got God bless my late mother. She told me times shut up as well. But I just think sometimes when you're in the midst of something, and sometimes disagreement, I can't tell you how many conversations I've had on social media. The ten minutes later that turned into a, hey, we're both on the same page. Sometimes you just gotta talk it out. And sometimes you gotta use more than one hundred forty or two hundred eighty characters. While said, yeah, I think most people just wanted to be heard, right. Absolute listened people out there the shop chops, and you know, the the, you know, what the fingertip guys and all that. But I think sometimes if you take it a different way and actually extended you're having a conversation at least for me. It worked. And the fact that you asked me that question means honestly that world to me because I maybe I'm doing something, right? Certainly. And I spent a lot of time on social media primarily because it's job related. I notice people's approaches because we all make a decision, and look I'm not always going to be conducting masterpiece theater on Twitter, and I could be snarky and I can be judgmental. But I appreciate your consistency. And it stood out to me, and we'd never addressed it. So I wanted to talk about especially during the holidays. Russ has mentioned we're not gonna talk for while here. But we will talk down the road as Brent Musburger said years ago, and I really appreciate your availability. And your insights over the years here at NBC sports radio. Well in Brent's on her. I understand what you're telling me. And I'm overwhelmed by your compliment. Thank you. Happy holidays. Russell Baxter that was well played. That's why rusted the best did you catch that? Because Bret Michaels years ago were the only guys who would have the veil gambling references now, and you don't fight city hall. This is where the business is going, and it's gonna be fascinating football league. No braces, this with the raiders going to Vegas, you're going to see under Rover graphics. You're going to see updates within the quarter as the line moves. You're going be able to bet directly. I think with remote control the whole world has become a casino. Casino or goodfellas. It's job past the right side for Dorset. Now right sideline. It's Baker shot clock at ten and the right corner for kiss up top to all Marie. He will drive with six pickup down low for CIA who catches and dunks. Great ball move with great patience by Rutgers through that time. Exactly the word. I was thinking very patient with that set as they scored with about four on the shot clock that tried to go inside Eugene. But the didn't do that. They did a good job. Here's Herod spinning on dourson throws over the ribbon a late whistle while and if foul called on shack that will be his second. You always hate when they blow the whistle after it seems like the result of the play has occurred. And that's what that looks like. That's exactly what I did. I don't think shack. He just was there. Stop a and a sixty eight percent free throw shooter at Auburn. He averaged sixteen points per game. I up the two left handed stroke is good. Saint John's, certainly. The little things now four or five from the line extended lead back to ten Butch sorry replay. Very poor second free throw is good. Eleven turnover by Rutgers Mitch three this half and the in less than three minutes, and that doesn't help when you're trying to get back in the game. Especially when you had a couple of good offensive sets. Absolutely Simon straightaway past left side for ponds. Right back to Simon come right side. Figueroa shoots the three not this time weeks out rebound by Baker. Baker crossing midcourt icebound bounce to Harper left corner. Three perfect. And it's forty three thirty five as Ron Harper junior provides some instant offense. "Ups michael dourson to to run the some of their chemical safety peace and we be able to feed that nomination performing caffeine hardaway to run the an operation council environmental quality in the white house we both of those so i think we're forced to be reckoned with we we don't want us to be defeated not just for the sake of defeating somebody we went somebody will come in and work with us and there's all kinds of areas where we need to find how do we clean water clean the air how do we improve public health how do we do that at the same time find economic gain economic opportunity doing that we can do that and not just talked about it but actually do it can find an administrative no not meet believe cartoon that in good for him or her country senator will the democrats stall a confirmation process until after the midterm elections this fall i could it's too soon to say i think right now i had really going to be the acting administrator we i know he's had a is passed she's works in moral maria cola operation as a lobbyist i don't think that's his entire resume and why would chance to see what else he can do whether he's willing to just turn the page and and maybe really surprised people that go ruckus how surprise people when he came back to lead the epa for president ronald reagan all right they didn't want to come back he came back and he did a great job to who knows so prepared for the moment to give mr wheeler a chance democratic senator tom carper of delaware thank you sir thanks we'll have a trade war with china is on today at twelve o one eastern time today the united states fired the first shots in that war by imposing tariffs on thirty four billion dollars worth of chinese goods so a trade war that had been discussed that had been threats that had been words is now real and china has responded hitting american goods with quivalent tariffs is the real economic gamble by president trump the world's two biggest economies are now involved in these trade actions and npr's rob schmitz has been following the story from shanghai either up okay so just talk us through the practicalities here president trump uses a that he's been given by congress to raise taxes raise taxes on things that americans import from china china responds on american products what happens then these tariffs will be passed on to consumers both in the us and china has the company whose products are targeted stop exporting and start to scramble to find new markets for goods that of course let me higher prices for range of products eventually this is going to have a big impact on the flow of goods worldwide as well as jobs i spoke to a longtime beijing attorney james zimmerman about this today and here's what he said we can expect what we can expect is disruption in supply chains we can expect job losses and declining investor and consumer confidence and that's going to impact the stock market and the impact on us business is going to be in my opinion we'll be substantial i'm glad that he mentioned supply chains rob because it's not that china sells me directly a product is a consumer they're selling something to an american company the product might even go back and forth between the us and china and other countries several times so how will us businesses be affected here well spoken to folks in the us the business community here and they're telling me that china's government is already targeting their products in ways that sort of go beyond tariffs and unofficial ways teen customs officials inspecting more shipments of us goods slowing down business and other ways on the chinese side china's government is now targeting chinese tourism to the us the chinese embassy in washington has issued a warning to chinese who is to be careful of shootings in the us to watch out for customs agents robberies and things like that it's a clear message from them that beijing has the power to prevent its tourists as well from spending money in the us now it's kind of like the soft equivalent of a tariff to respond on us tariffs i suppose it could end well how would it end well what is the best scenario here i suppose that has scenario would be for china to.

"That's unusual for him all right we're looking for michael goodwin will we'll find him hey mitt romney look at that you know he was running for senate utah orrin hatch is seat orrin hatch longest serving republican ever in history in in the senate so the seat was up they had a both republican convention for utah and romney went in there hoping to get the nomination and he didn't he didn't get it so that means he has to go through a primary and primary challenges romney saying well that's all right you know these campaigns are tough i'm going to work hard i don't think that's what he was expecting when orrin hatch announced he was stepping down and romney announced he was running it looked like he was a shoe in you know bobby president trump can't stand romney but remember he endorsed him the reasoning endorsed him was every poll every study every survey showed romney easily winning so center very interesting that's the only reason the president dourson because he gets he was going to win so want to look like he was on the right side but romney didn't get it at the convention now you could still win in the primary process but that was a big big setback so who knows even though romney was way ahead in the polls it meets might be like a hillary clinton situation where the polls were just rigged and wrong and who knows maybe people even in utah are tired of the swamp no more swamp creatures no more swamps snakes and alligators and romney certainly a very swamp like figure so maybe something that's going on there so what happened michael goodwin didn't.
