"Back to another episode of disorderly. Dogs the podcast. I have a special guest with me today. We're gonna decipher some dog research. Which is pretty exciting. So i'm wanna go ahead and introduce yourself listeners. And just tell them a little bit more about yourself show. I'm i'm dr amy. Wait and i run a science communication projects cold. Doug signed says rich communicates the latest developments in science through social media. Summit mixed active on instagram. But also on expert and also twitter. This started the me as a book. I did much longer pace to try to on trying to answer questions about why job really coming from. A background of scientists scientifically trained like a phd did biological Degrees in things but not dog. Zayed's interestingly enough. I don't have any formal training and dog signs sold by a dog. It was super interested. It is behavior of wanted whether the things he did was kind of things. That marquise jade or things that all dogs do more. Whether and i was bringing out my little kids at the time while still on march So stop working but still had a bitchy bitch to get box into science. Dan dog signs blog which actually wasn't particularly successful as a blog Really near unfortunately i'd actually Kinds you drew attention to the blog. So tweet said scrimp rhubarb blog. Which did people were wayne interested. They had sailed social media the big the blog and the social media just bigger and bigger bigger unidentified buyer think i is approaching fifteen thousand followers across the three platforms. Says people interested tonight on it. Just it on instagram. It's just at kind of mini blog. Si- severi so all the post by particular paper. Just summarize what they did. And what the what. The scientists themselves thinking the conclusions and applications and things bite sized information of phileas dog science did on my gosh on instagram because like it is i think it's so helpful for us to digest. It's having like those bite size. Highlights you know because they need like the average person like going looking through the research is a little intimidating right like what is just time. Tv even even if people would would like to do that. I love my adult. Prevent professionals. Like yourself trained doesn't have the time to troll through research just that will bite size information. Accessible I think he's really well. People have said is really useful. Which is great. I'm really excited that such a help. People now will anything i don't know. Do you wanna be just a little bit. Because i feel like i mean i guess maybe in the last decade there has just been like an exponential amount of research being devoted to dogs like from your perspective like why is that. Why is there more money and dog research like that helping us get to conclusions for humans or is it because we really just want to know about dogs i th. I think if both abbott well all things really by Thank aided he said maybe longer guys not but not by much. I think probably the main reason is scientists realize that dogs actually make great models issues to investigate non human animals Generally so we can ask questions about high thing highly. Behave because we've got back with them and we can communicate with them really effectively when you do experiment with the dog hit well.

I never like was just like you know like looked out my window last night and i saw the exact same thing the exact same thing. What's the best fireworks show you've ever seen. You know there's one in. We used to live in westport connecticut. And there's a there's a company that makes kids like books and toys called michelle and doug and they actually. They're out of the family lives in westport and they their company is in. I think norwalk connecticut which is right next door anyway. So they pay they sponsor for this fireworks show and it's out over compo beach and i mean it's great like the whole town just goes out there and you watch the fireworks and it's they have them. Listen doug sign out there. That probably i mean look I've seen the one over the. I guess it's over the over the hudson in new york. That's pretty spectacular. I mean i've seen them all the kind of all the same like they're like. Acdc songs right. Here's a little bit different right. That's that's kind of how i look at five. What about you is there one that jumps out at you. Disneyland's pretty good when it when gets like going. You know like the like the for now. We're going crazy today. The flank and they just do the finale. The whole time you're right there's build up you're right they make enough money And then well. It was pretty cool when i played in grand canaria. Yeah i got. I decided not to stay with the team. Made maybe a place. 'cause i'm like dude i want to be on the beach you know i'm here on the beach. I'm gonna pay extra money still on the beach every night. There's a firework show. Every single night. And doug had a newborn baby who was not happy. She was not happy every time the fireworks would all she would be grumpier than but had a firework show. Stand on the beach every night. Fireworks will be going off right at seven thirty. Yeah i hit you the fireworks every night. I mean look if you grew up in orange county in the summer. There's there's fires disneyland every night it it's like it's like having stead. Pike part of the good thing to having steak or or to go into a restaurant is like okay and this is how we're kids before they had free refills for stuff. Used to get like okay..

"Dot com, including the email from a Kroger's representative. Kroger's fry, same thing. Where they claim that we will not make our own employees show proof of vaccination to take off the mask. And then I went to fries and asked employees, they said all their totally making us do that. So not only is the email shows that apparently there's a lie going on or people into the memo. It also has the 800 number and the reference number for that case so you can actually call and say, I'm referring to this email. Are you guys lying? What's going on here? That's just some of the gold that is there. Had canister dot com. It's on my page now, Rhonda Santis This guy is great, but anybody seen Doug Ducey? Have you is Doug Doug Blink three times If you're being held hostage dog, if you're if you're in danger, blink three times. Doug signs bills into law and can actually come out and tell the press that live because he's so awful at it. Hey, has to have a teleprompter. With a with the script in there and recorded video and put it on Social media. Have no idea where do see is he was out of some function with the Mexican governor of Sonora last week. That was the last time I've seen Doug Doug is nowhere to be found. Nowhere to be seen on vacation like what's going on here? We have states get rid of emergencies. We have other governors doing great things calling out no masks on kids in school, and Doug is gone. Where is Doug? Anybody seen Doug? But dissent is is on fire. He signed a law yesterday. Uh, that holds big tech companies. Facebook Twitter. You name it things like that Instagram on my Facebook. Hold him accountable if they censor you. This is a big deal. About time This happened, he said it protects with Floridians. When the power grab on speech thought and content. It allows residents to fight back in Florida against de Plat forming and censorship. They can sue tech companies for up to $100,000 in damages for each proven claim. Each proven claim in a bid to ensure companies are more transparent about their content. Moderation practices And something came out yesterday There was a whistle blower talking a project Veritas James O'Keefe it project Veritas, a Facebook whistleblower. Just Facebook. It's so evil and so bad. That Facebook is now profiling users based on what they write about vaccine hesitancy. So if they can tell that you are pushing and promoting and writing that taking the vaccine isn't a smart thing in blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And you're hesitant. They limit the reach of your posts. There is a vaccine hesitancy score they do. They want to stop that information from going out like the communist Chinese. Right, like the Pema GOP like the LDS in the P. McGee, if that's what they say they're trying to do. It's a relevant Comparison. So the Santis Announced this this is a big deal. Last question of the press conference. 1 45 Ryan, You had some reporter that's a wise guy. And you gotta love the sand because he just does what he knows, is right and doesn't hold back and destroys the media with a smile on his face, and I cut off the applause. It went on for an additional 15 20 seconds. But I want to hear something. 1 45 listen to this. Your loyal supporter former President Donald Trump for oil resident in Florida. "Going to ask about the other two. Yeah yeah one of them. One of them was also better known. Full The the guy that go in boston pretty much straight away And the the other guy's dog was extremely amenable a very easy to train as it turned out but anyway i i ended up with die and it turned out now. We're like i was more than happy with him. You know. I'll back in hours within. So i get said we're getting a familiarization out of the way. And then where he showed with all our kids. And we're going to be good with that because the following monday and the dog is coming home with me. So i already told me wife. Says he's bitten unfolding everything that you'll lavigne berry mind that my wife was absolutely frightened to death of dogs. A really really tried to talk of going on on dogs so a way s she. She realized that. I wasn't gonna change my mind and i am going on dogs and you know one of the things that happens when you go and dogs is you. Don's home so i'm on my way home. Get dropped off and my wife sweated drugs me a game out on the bucket. Vehicle drags me down the path into into the goblin stops around the garden would me olden in the him off. My wife's inside frightened out and author. Well no we've gotta we've gotta saw out now we're gonna fix straight away in our boy home you. You're going to like get used to because he stay in type thing so she stood in the conservatory walk. Change said i can't come to is too bad is going to be. War is just is just a it just big software him so anyway care. No let him off the lead and iran straight tour. And i talked to real told me back. She said back on the on. The shoulder But she she stayed and And i thought. What am i doing that i would just like. I'm just the doug sign the dose. Just pick my wife. Who's writing the dogs. And i've got to sell this job tour and it's all got better as the days and the weeks went on. You know we went out for walks and they because we don't have any children or anything let not we. We spent a lot time with him exercise and getting in fit and before you know it my wife and the dog the really the really gay in on very well together. The is the dog out stage. He was it was really for real. I'm fulton ferry loud as well did back Which menendez win really up here. Thou so the us another thing that you have to contend with because we take place doug home and you know the working dogs and if they hear anybody will let us know the hood somebody and you know it took a while for the neighbors to work out the of a police vehicle place dog on the street was major advantage of one. This cabriolet paid for the on our streets lose a little. Bit of sleep from the occasional backing. But if you do wake up you know you don't really have too much to worry about dose exactly. It's all went swimmingly and We could we did the call. So the cost is setting weeks inclusive of the familiarization. So what we teach folks to do on the is. It's all basically we have to our good control of the dog so we we have a first thing morning. So i'll do it hour abedian in to heal agility equipment and then some other control exercises and then the dogs will go straight in the vehicle on the mobile truck. And so we'd spend a couple of hours tracking teach the dogs out to track by guys away from vehicles and buildings that type of thing than we do a around by trading so we'd all during the Bite work exercises. We don't take interns to but we call it catching the dog. So don't be those. We'd be wearing protective equipment. But we all take turns to catch each of dogs My particular dog No people didn't look forward to him fighting then because he got a very very go bite and as it's been so the the the tests that have been done on search dogs so e was about this dog was maybe about a kilos is nice big rangy dog with they had so with a big head comes a big i think it would by about two hundred and fifty pounds per square inch which it has if you've ever been bit by doug it really does Training him to a particular target or so in the uk the legislation the biden is olga dope to the dog obviously being under control Targeted should the need arise. They could target the right time. It will normally be they they the lower top of the arm or whatever the old of it turns out that way you know with the dogs too. I when when i've when i've deployed them and sent them off to paypal in training just get older whatever they can get old of because in training we have a sorry operationally the by of the count in training evidence structured so. The dog knows the training. The doug knows where to target when it's like three o'clock in the mall and you've got a guy running into wet running away in t shirt and jeans and trainers and he's making go is escape. The dogs will do whatever they have to do to catch these guys. And if the end up taking them on the legs there uncles the helms the back just do it. the just. they'll just do it. That we target we will target the. I'm so after about thirteen weeks. You end up. When you've done all this bite in rule will will wear either a by jockey sleeve and at the end of the end of the The weeks you will have this permanent. Bruce where the dogs of being targeted. If your the leading edge of your of your of your forearm you do you get used to it. Some dogs by other than those psalm. Otake down though. Take down with the hit. So if you're running you're running fast and the dogs running fast. Laws of physics tells you that some of that nature is going to happen so the dog lake. Yeah it'll be new faster than your ronin which means you're going down so a lot people can be injured just by being take being taken down. The the training has got to be very very realistic. It becomes more realistically later on but then we teach the dog to buy. We need the dog to bite. They the the lower part of the we need him to buy it and keep the really firm grip if keep a firm grip than they. Minimum amount of damage will be will will be caused. So what you'll find. Is that the dogs will hit a target. And if the being taught to buy property the the person that the subjects will be Two four canine wounds. And that it to fix sometimes. Is the guys fighting and is really trying to get away. Then dot can get a little bit messier if the.

Some like their balconies about three times. This is big. Actually, we got people in the Jacuzzi on the balcony. Right? This minute shows there rubbing that sounds like a guy belly ache and he couldn't make the flight. Oh, man, because listen here, Jason runs one of the best master. My group's not about one of the best master my group in the country with about 150 of the biggest investors flippers on DH alone are what you call alone. Something like that. That money is in the country. It's ah ah amazing groups that he put together on my business has almost go because of what he's put together in the group of people that he surrounds himself with, and I's a very, very special guest it down on the show, didn't Jason thank you so much for coming on. Hey, man, I'm excited to be here Really Looking forward to it. Here's the thing though. We we, You know, obviously it's Saturday afternoon. We're four o'clock in the afternoon over here on the East Coast time. So we've all been hanging out the sambar having a great time. I was like, Jason, we've got to rub this in. There you go. You can. You can put the beer on Zoom. Everybody can see that s O. N. Jason's like had he really? He paced himself today so that he could give up. Some great information. So you got to give it up to Jason for being in in ship shape in order to be on the air with you here, Doug. I'm almost 50 years old. Pacing myself was just part of the deal. Now, is it four o'clock and I'm three d three beers and that's enough. Yeah, almost time for bad, innit? Pappa will have to go to bed here shortly. Hey, Jason, you've got you've got several members of your your mastermind first, just for people who are listening out there, driving around. Found in their cars break it down for people exactly what is a mastermind? And how did this come to be in how you help people in the real estate industry? Sure Mastermind is effectively a It's It's a community at the top of the You know, the roof on the building is effectively a community. But what we do is we act like a board of directors. So On a quarterly basis. We get the top real estate investors in the country, guys like Darren and Doug, who were doing you know, flipping hundreds and hundreds of properties on they come in, and they There's kind of a two pronged approach. If you will, and that is they share everything that they're doing. That's working system strategies resource is with each other. So everyone else in the organization can take those systems strategies resources and implement in their business on then the counter of that is hey have helped you but now I need help, right? So the counter of that side is where we have some things that were struggling with and then so you're in a room. Imagine being in a room with say about 25 to 30 people When you're saying I'm struggling with X Y and Z Someone who can say Hey, Darin. Hey, Doug. I have mastered that right. I went through the challenge You guys are going through about two years ago. We've mastered it. We've systematized it And we have the connection of the resource is to really help you through that on Biff. You need any additional clarity? You're welcome to come out of the office and and see how we're doing. We're doing On DH, So it's It's really just an opportunity for top shelf folks to continue elevating in their business, sharing what they're doing to be successful to help everyone else and at the same time getting everybody else to give them feedback on the struggles that they're having and help help them progress forward and dug. It helped you out tremendously. Oh, man, I tell you what, When I first went out there, I guess was two years now. I think it's exactly two years. I think we want to September 1 thing. It was completely there and said We're changing everything, and I don't know. Listen, we're changing a bunch of things right here, and we're going to pick these three things and we're gonna do it and dance credit. He's like, okay, because there in his might my CEO. He's my implementer. And and he went in, and we changed our phone systems. We changed how we did everything. I think we're supposed to have 20 minute presentation. And I think that Jason Let us go for life. Look close. One out, were up there trying to trying to fix what was wrong with the business and everyone was so willing to help. It was incredible. Got tons of friendships out of it. People who do what we do it all over the country on it was it was better than I ever thought It was going to be a I didn't know what to expect. It was weird to be like, Why am I going to share my secrets and on my successes with my competitors? But they're really not your competitors. They're they're in other parts of the country and everyone Solan help there and and you can't help but get affected by that and you want to give back and it's just a a situation where everyone just helping everybody and by doing that everyone gets bigger, stronger. Better is just fantastic. How it all works. I will tell you when Doug signed up. Originally, I thought And I kind of thought the same thing. He's gonna go out there and play golf with a whole bunch of guys who are going to lie about how much they make and they're going to say I make all this money. I've got all these houses and then I'ma lie to you and tell you how I do it, Which is gonna be a complete lie, And I'm amazed how you've been able to put together ah, culture of people who help each other because you know, real estate guys tend to be You know, keep it close to the vest. These guys air helping everybody. Yeah, well, and the reality of it is you said that the key word right and that's culture. One of the things I think that separates us from the very beginning when you walked in on Tuesday. On. We started the collective genius we spent if you will, for lack of a better term 50 minutes or so We set the tone, right. We've set the pace and it was. It wasn't about deals. It wasn't about dollars. It wasn't about conversion. It wasn't about Lee Generation wasn't television Wasn't radio was about culture. It was about what we stand for. What we stand against how we're going to operate here. You know, we have to kind of to slides that I think really tell the tale is you've got a bunch of guys in the room like a Doug Hopkins in a Darren, who are flipping hundreds and hundreds of houses a year and we caught. We've got bulls, right? We're putting a bunch of bulls in the same pen. So how do we get them to work together where everybody's walking in the same direction and nobody gets poked. And a lot of that happens really, from setting this the stage from a perspective of culture, right?.

"KFI am six forty live everywhere on the I heart radio app yes all right so coming up we'll talk a bit about some of the other candidates for president pretty centers what. one step I being free everything it's all out there now what free community college I've got all these plans Bernie Sanders decide to throw one more thing out there also we'll talk about the I sort of the fun story to this presidential race on the democratic side while many of them are talked about climate change and lately in the news it's been about this idea of cutting back your consumption of meat that's not what happened with this group of Democrats a descended on Iowa and cooked up a lot of steak the phonies posing for pictures with the meat really climate change politicians are phonies it's hard to believe. want to win the votes well who falls for that. that you think somebody and I want one of these so take fries would go what you're doing well the only other people hurry busy eating the steak they're obviously not buying into this so will you sound this too the vegetarians are at stake front do as I say not as I do all right so and since they couldn't get anywhere with impeaching trump over the whole Russian interference with the twenty sixteen election one country over now obstruction of justice other gonna be screaming be screen but Ukraine for the next six now they're worked up over trump's conversation or conversations with the leader of Ukraine over trying to find stuff against the bite do you think anybody cares about this on either side. I am I really don't. this is like when they were yelling about trunk making money a try to build hotels in Russia emoluments I I did the same thing I mean these are all corrupt thirty people I I don't know why but it reminds me of what you said just a few minutes ago trump came into this with billion so I'm not worried about him trying to capitalize on the presidency but it's the other crowd that comes in broke and tries to capitalize on the presidency perhaps like the bidens in the Clinton said they did yeah that's what they've done. and and now look at that look at the Obamas after they got out of the presidency you know they're they're taking in million from Netflix for some cockamamie programs that no one no one's gonna watch I'm only gonna say this once because it's pretty crazy. but when I was off the last couple days last week and looking at stories. Lee. far right wing website blogger people are trying to they're trying to push a new one about the Obamas have you heard it no. I'm I'm just gonna say this one set of course I'm gonna laugh. Michelle Obama was born a man. her real name is Michael. this is what they're pushing yeah they are. I can see now and they're claiming that one of Obama's half brothers stepbrothers blah blah brothers supports this. September on those crazy canyons that part of the Obama extended. as his father thank you know impregnated a number of women yes he has he has a lot of one of the supposedly saying I see truth to this there was one there was one half brother who is always saying bizarre and I think it's the same guy must be I didn't read IT is name now live I I haven't seen them died cirrus is. it's a stupid the internet still but everything. you say I'm your guy tied tried for the show rona bubble and when a few people what makes them happy inside the bubble and if they happen to be Obama haters there's one for you right right Ron Ron Peters have their own bubble. what what kind of a life is that. all I I really don't I really don't understand you always because the brain and what what feeds the brain makes people feel good right if if you are reading stuff that feeds what you already believe it makes you feel good wind is and you're like see other people know this I know but why do they get so wrapped up in this stuff why is it so important to them. because the now there's people believe everything is hit that that everything's fake news in the real news is out there well I just search for I'm in that group yeah. I am that I will hear is the tribe stir talking today let's begin with the clip to arriving at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City this is about the bike thanks just a Democrat witch hunt here we go again they failed with Russia they fail sessions I filled with everything and now they're bringing this up the one who's got the problem is by if you look at what did Biden did what they would like to have me do except that one problem I didn't do it what I did is a disgrace what is Sunday it is a disgrace your son took money from Ukraine the son took the money from China a lot of money from China China would love to see you would think it think of nothing they'd rather see the invite and get it because they will take this great deal that we're about to make and they would really have themselves a ideals once. let me just tell you what Biden did was wrong but no I I've read going back a few years stuff about the Biden dealings and hunter and signed yeah I'm not I think is a let's suppose is a lot more to that story than you yes No is is is Doug's sign has been bring in the family millions and billions of dollars. in investments to that financial company that hunter Biden's involved in it's it's a real thing and it's what a lot of these dynasty families do. not an end no nobody ever investigated any this stuff because Biden is a beloved Democrats so they don't bother with that let's play this soon a quick clip from trump this is Clint number three and again the same look over the bidens you guys are always coming after us Joe Biden and his son are corrupt. all right but the fake news doesn't want to report because it Democrats if that ever happened if a Republican admitted what Joe Biden did it Republican never said what Joe Biden said they'd be getting the electric chair by right now. the double standard you people execution of yourself and not all we have some great journalists around but he got a crooked journalist your credit is self okay thank you very much. you enjoyed yourself. great site to go. yourself sailing out of that I think so we don't have another four years of the show whistleblower here is a is a truck aligned with trump. I said that to somebody over the weekend to remember there's been talk and sometimes he spreads the stuff himself just to get the ball yeah and and he knew he would get this backlash briefly that he called the president of Ukraine and put pressure but I figured he bluster pass that criticism but it would give me an opening to say Hey look at Joe hunter and then all the reporters should be looking at their shoes because they don't want to go and investigate Joan under they all knew about this for years they never brought it up now they have to because if they think they're gonna go after trump they got a they got a deal with Joe and hunter more coming up on the presidential race will talk about Bernie Sanders Beto o'rourke and more we have to Johnny can't KFI Deborah mark as more clean about the supposed that a basin in the San Fernando Valley has moved closer to the four oh five freeway LA police and sanitation workers have been forcing homeless people in the area to get out councilwoman Mary Martinez is the encampments are a growing danger not only for the individuals are currently living in the simple database format whom ever enjoys the recreational opportunities here in the basin a wildfire started in another encampment in this poll the base in a couple months ago many people live there have propane tanks and gas cans about two hundred state local officials have gathered in downtown LA to learn how to count to better don't Jerez yourself be counted city was among the officials working with the coalition of civil rights groups for a fair and accurate census count Garcetti says a community leader told him something that underscore just how low the bar set for LA if we can just get as bad an undercount as we got ten years ago I will consider victory in Los Angeles National City mayor Alejandro so tell us to leave says there's no citizenship question any information gathered will not be shared with other government agencies officials are joining community groups for two days of training and strategizing to get more people counted in California in downtown LA Chris and Carla okay if I news news is brought to you by my cal choice dot com a new businesses hired some special workers in San Gabriel free pickles is a flower shop that's been open for about a month employs people with special needs. they're short chefs because majority of our workers have autism and so we want to make sure it's not too stressful. owner Susan Turkestan jazz especially the boys water flowers clean up the shop and sometimes rage bouquets and she says she knows having stable normal jobs is important because her daughter has autism their minds just work differently that's all right now free pickles only has a few employees but Sanchez says they love to expand soon Monica Rick's KFI news trial has started in Texas in the case against a former Dallas police officer who killed a neighbor in his apartment amber Geiger called nine one one after the shooting last year and said she thought the man was an intruder in her home prosecutors say Geiger missed multiple signs that she was on the wrong floor and at the wrong door prosecutor Jason hrmis also told the jury in his opening statement that Geiger did not follow her training opportunity for de escalation. no opportunity for him to surrender. thank you bye rockets double check is Geiger should have tended to the injured man while calling nine one one but that she instead sent text messages to our partner and waited outside for cops to arrive. all right back we go to the four oh five in Inglewood this is gonna be north.

"So I love the fact that didn't outright steal the sane a love that I didn't outright like take it like they added to it because they've shown us that this guy, the Doug. He wants to believe that is in this person who's just going to write them out. Like you know what I'm saying like this whole sequence that he's talking about, like talking to talking to her about, he's hoping that she's like, because he caves confirming he's like you want me to come in the court. Is that what you want, and like he's just hoping that he doesn't that she doesn't? So it must be. Just a massive relief because he smiles, because before they hung up hang up. She clues on it. And she says that it will just be like one of us sunny days and like you can just see the relief in in Doug size. A love a love that moment. No. Yeah, that's good. It's nice little tonight's little throwback. Official Foley wants all of the stations covered, despite Doug sign that is on the way. 'cause Frawley officiant as shit, man. Like let's not forget, like a mutt may questionable choices like the fucking all. I'll exist fix. God. For you to get the death penalty. But I will I fishes shared a close that bridge get these units over there. Get these units. I'll, I'll make sure that I'm on your us there. I love it. Frawley wet for Doug, but he doesn't show. He catches onto the tip must sunny days clay, we are a national organization. Ever run to wrap it up because he's not gonna show love the fucking loyal best possible outcome. You know. What is what's this thing? We're a national. He's I what basically saying if you try to run anywhere, we know where to find you because it's not like he's a lot of local cop like if it was up then aging, just like skip down and just as tight whereas like national organization you're in bus rot. Now, if you guys fires fucking California, we can catch you still but yeah, back cough. Rowley funds lodge between beneath his antenna fuck yourself. I love how that comes back around. It also deta. Honestly, I, I like laughed out loud, that is so fucking juvenile. I thought it'd be something I thought, it'd be something he'd say, you know, like I'm off to find my sunny day or something, you know, something that would be like fuck you, I'm out of this town, each shit, and it is that don't get me wrong. But I thought it'd be something a little bit more. I've grown up mature now. Go fuck yourself. That's fantastic. As it stands now Frawley has. Zere evidence to, to, to Clare to say that clad tipped him off, like, hey, conflict, econ say that. Oh sunny day was the would like you know what I mean? But if he puts sunny down the note then, that'll that's something that they can use rights are lead it in use that. But fuck yourself was kind of like the whole, you know, I'll be the one to go. Tell you to fuck yourself, I guess. But also the I love that little thing going back also. Right. Right, right. Play a stack of cash into garden adorable. Among the cash from Doug saying that he's long gone. It's the way you planned it, but for the first time in his life, he's leading this city. She finds a tangerine, which is a hint that he's probably going to change in Florida lucky mentioned before she's the money to rebuild the hockey rink, no matter how much change she still going pay. The price things you've done. I've got a long road, but also you again, this side or the other. And that's a Tam baby. Nice. Awesome. Did also. I love it. I love this. Maybe I do. One of the one of the best reysen, sort of high vis that are out there. I like definitely not up there with Haight. Have you seen public enemies, by the way? A little bit of it. What did you think because that's Michelman as well. Honestly, I don't remember enough to like have a good solid opinion. I what I saw though, didn't like you know, was like, okay, I'll check that out. Yeah. Yeah. We didn't really have that many comments with this. Right. So I've been Pru on the off the body. I'm not sure whether he's like, like what he's getting about is like mostly forgettable couldn't understand the dialogue. Wicked bad accents. He's not wrong. He's not wrong. Like we did I cause I watch every move with titles, just standard do, so that's something that I do. But the fact that you to easy subtitles damn damn. Just leaving you just wanted to leave you drive for saying like damn. Yeah. I've hit that old age where I fucking put like subtitles on. But every once in a while like all right, turn this shit off. This is kind of annoying. He'd looking at the bottom of the screen oil, I want to just be like engulfed, you know. Yeah. Gail. I think I've just done it from such a young age where I'll just like I'm used to. Now. Right. Right. Man, final thoughts before we head out of here. I like this movie pretty well say like it a lot. I might grab it like a five dollar dollar or something. It's pretty good. I think it's got I think it's got some flaws. But I think that it I think that those flaws can be decently overlooked, for the most part because the movies, this is trying to emulate or very big shoes to fill and the fact that it's also directed and starring a guy who's not notorious for being in heist crime shootout movies. Speaks to testament, and they, they did a did a great job. I wish there was a little bit more high STI I wished to. Blake lively was recast with somebody who's a not thirteen years, younger, they'd been Aflac. But also somebody who's just a better actress. I just don't. I don't know. I think she's okay. I don't think we talking about Blake lively in ten years. Honestly. But somebody, somebody like Shirley's surely series like my go-to for like a lot of shit. I think she's awesome. And pretty much everything that she does. But even someone like fucking Nicole Kidman or somebody in my okay? Cool like mind somebody somebody just a little bit closer agent a better actress. But that being said, I probably give it like a seven or a seven and a half editon just because of Blake lively, I think that I need a little bit more, heist a little bit less like romance and stuff. Also Jeremy Renner I don't see how he got nominated for an Oscar, I was like, man, I don't know about that. As I think that's pushing it. Like I get it. He got to have people in there to have some kind of competition. But like I don't think that's Oskar the by a long shot. I think he does a pretty good job. But there's still a lot of stuff with him just kind of being this, like unhinged guy that I wish we could I wish they dived into his prison time, a little bit more. So we can kind of see, or even if they said, hey, he didn't used to be like this, like. Like why like what happened to him? He's like, yeah, I went away people were trying to rape me, and I turned into this violent guy. That's cool. That's I mean, it's not cool. But it makes for good storytelling. You know, so I'm going to say, honestly, like seven ten. It is a good movie though. I don't think it was as good as it was hyped up for me, you know, by people, but it's still it's still a damn good movie. I'll say seven seven and a half out of ten. Yeah. Yeah. Look man. I it's, it's with I I'm putting this up the like this is a nine for May. me. Yeah. Just because like going from, I think, having benefited it benefits a lot for having may watch the while already. Just because, like I said, man, the why does that fantastic thing where it's just like this city displays the grew up the environment and people who raise your the people who influence year? Your friends family, all of that, all of that fades into who you are, and who you become and no matter how hard you try in the UAE on no matter how hard you try. It's just always going to end tragically. You know, sometimes you can find that little one percent of people that get out, which is fantastic, which is great. But it's also like this cyclical nature of the crime of crime of growing up in crime and growing up in property. And growing up with like dislike like minded people who are just set on breaking the rules and running from the police. And people who are just so used to this lots of crime. It just gets passed onto the children. So I think watching it from that angle this time around. I definitely loves it a lot lot more. If it didn't have that element of it would probably be. But I, I love exactly where it is right now to be honest. There's not that much I would change about this movie. Maybe I think I think I do agree with you about like law, these character, I think she could be bolted up a little bit more. Maybe pull back the fuck in have happiness of the performance like a little bit. But other than that, man, I think this is really really awesome. Like I think it's one of the best highest movies had very recently. Post hate I guess. Let's go to Greg, 'cause I think Jeremy ran. I think you'll giving him too much shit. I've not think he is awesome. Did maybe not a war? Really? Yeah. Maybe not award where the maybe not a world where the that's, that's all I'm saying, does a decent job, but it's like dude, this is not Oskar nam, come on his character doesn't have that much depth. Thome like he's a hot sauce. He's this guy who's growing up opposite, Ben Affleck and has kind of gone on the opposite end of the spectrum. Right. Like as not someone who has any inkling to get the fuck out of this live. Like he's he doesn't want to leave Charlestown, like he's one of those people who bonehead grew up here. We'll die here and that's exactly what he did. So I think I think Jeremy Renner does the best with what he's given. But in the scheme of things, it's not that much, but yeah, like like when he does ten on the performance as fantastic like, especially, especially the sequins like. They fucking sledgehammer those guys like fucking love that shit. So. Yeah, man. It's a great, maybe it's Sipa memorable to me. I rave, visit this movie, quite well, not for a while actually, but when it did come out, I did revisit quite regularly. I think Rebecca hall is fantastic. I think John hayman's. Fantastic. Ben Affleck, fucking awesome. Dude, this, Mark probably this probably my favorite role of his probably. The. Yeah, antacid maybe really glad to have talked about it. Did really glad to covered it. "That is what they are talking about he really pleased to have a guest on the line right now. Mary clear, I'm Simla Mary am I pronouncing your name correctly. Got it. Yeah. Kind to say I got it. I got it wrong. But thank you for that. I appreciate it. And Mary is from the Heritage Foundation kind enough to join us about the FBI sting of the academic fraud. The big story breaking this afternoon. A mary. Of course, we appreciate all things Heritage Foundation. But give us your take on this. If you would sure so this isn't simply a case of, you know, hey, if you my kid in college, we're going for money, maybe, you know, donate a library something like that. This was a long organized sting. Where were you see parents of wealthy children? Bribing testing centers on enriches fudge, the numbers and get their kids into the recall. It is so I certainly disturbing, but I wrote a piece in the daily signal where argue that this is disturbing but not necessarily surprising system has been rigged for a long time to favor. Elite in this country through our federal education policies that are well established. Investing their kids in the school. But we do have policies right now that don't necessarily even for all no point well made I would bet that that people all over Colorado listening right now are not in their head in agreement because I think so many folks are so frustrated when their kid who's played by the rules, and they work so hard night and day. And and they do so darn well in high school and and well on their test scores. And then all the sudden all these schools, it should be accepting or not accepting him. You start to think is his whole thing. Rick. I think you're exactly right. And we're telling our kids, you know, from young age if you've party you play by the rules for that success. But then you look at a case of. And then you look at policies propose by the latch free college. For example. Well, that's not also, you know, we're car in play by that. You know, a few Americans the one Americans that pursue the bachelor's degree transferring the cost of their education onto the truth. There's an American who don't get degree in. We're hardworking, you know, patriots with their family. That's not that's I would argue a rage system as well. And so I think that we should be outraged by stories like this. But the point that I want to drive home is is there are lots of ways that we can get a higher education policy in the United States today and see there's plenty of room for improvement to even Franco for hardworking American, Mary Clare, you really aren't the perfect expert on this because you do this full-time as a policy analyst at heritage specializing on education policy with a focus on higher education as well. And I'm glad that you inherited your on that full-time because as you know, there are so many issues there from impossible cost to overriding bias in all of that. But when we get down to something. You know, threatening the very integrity of the process like this. You know, that's when I think it really rocks people's worlds because isn't part of the American dream that if you go out, and you do it, right? And everything else that you're gonna have this equal opportunity when all the sudden guess what if I had the greatest parents in the world, and no fence to you or anybody else my data Chicago cop, and my mom raised the five of us. But they weren't going to be able to buy a building. They gave us what really mattered, but they weren't going to be able to buy a building at a big university. And so how do we straighten this out? I agree with you the higher education today is certainly not, you know, the great society that Lyndon Johnson, drain. Doug. Signed, the higher education sixty five he he vision higher education being another screen equalizer way that you know, everyone enters in season. Making the to the American dream nowadays college really stop is on that piece of paper that you have to bear on that rather than the marketable skills that one day and going to college, and I think that we are seeing this degree obsession com primarily due to the amount of money. The government has poured into our institutions of higher education. I think that that had caught a lot of degrees. Parents. And then the likes to to really focus not on what's important in in. What? But you know. That you can be an Ivy league student things like that. I think we need to turn off the open federal dollars into these institutions that we can restore some financial solvency there and focus back on what matters which is the academics. And the and the human capital the dog, and Mary let me get into more detail with you about this this historic scandal revealed today because it's funny in America. You know now now that there are fewer and fewer surprises as you know, because we're in this twenty four seven news cycle. But then something like this hits you from out of the blue and for those just getting off work or picking kids up at school. If you could take them inside this scandal as you understand it Mary Clare, but we know at this point what fifty very prominent people arrested or in the process of being arrested, including a couple of Hollywood stars for pain enormous money to this this broker in order to cheat their kids way into top schools. Yeah. I believe that that that. That's my understanding is that there is there is this. This firmer this institution that that I much as twenty five million dollars in reading with poor into in order to test in order to help. He's these children are believed won't be parents gain access to college admissions. So we're seeing fluffy Hoffman major names mentioned in all this, and it's a major scandal. And I've been mentioned before the fibrin simply near you scratch. My back I'll scratch your back situation that we hear about quite often. This is an organized operation where all parties involved new, and we're well aware of the fraud going on these allegations are correct. So it really does, you know, search shake competent? We spend seventy five billion dollars. Eighty dollars a year on higher education. You know Americans. Are you know? I certainly understand that you have to wonder at some point are reporting all this money interim institution that we have faith in. And I think that many Americans they're looking and saying this is that I'm confident that my money is going towards well said Mary clear, very grateful for the time and would like to have a continuing conversation on higher Ed because I know it matters to lots of folks in the audience, and because hey, we we all love our kids more than anything else human on the face of the earth. Right. And and a lot of kids aspire to go to college, and you just want to make sure the whole thing makes sense. But predate the time and the good work of the Heritage Foundation. Thank you so much anytime. Thanks mary. Claire take care. Appreciate that. Could get Ryan. Thank you there. Hey would love your thoughts on this again? This is probably just hitting your radar sense. It's not something any of us are coming. If we have this wonderful, high school senior Caroline. And so we've been you know, particularly through the junior year. But now with the applications in waiting here back from the schools. We've been like so many folks out there. You know, it's just want the very best for your kid. And you want them to be happy. And you want them to be accepted by the schools? They like most, but the whole time, you just sit there and know that these kids, and I'm sure it's the same for your kid. He's just know that your kid is is so great that they're going to succeed wherever they end up. But you still want him to be able to go where they really want to go. And then of course, you get to the cost issue. And we'll have Mary Clare back someday. When we are covering a big cheating scandal in college, admissions, which is pretty juicy and interesting and important, and we'll talk about the kind of less glamorous. But really interesting subject of why the heck is it so expensive? Is there any connection between the cost, and what's actually delivered or are people just getting squeezed and these kids getting squeezed because they have to be able to access these loans that bury him for years and years and years. But today the issue is the scandal. And it really ticks me off because you know, you look at these kids who do it the right way, and they work day and night. And I'll bet your kid is one of them. And then you see this kind of cheating going on and Alan Dershowitz was talking about. In fact, I think that Ryan who sees and hears knows all actually pulled Dursun this. I think he'd nailed it. He sounds a little quiet today. Remind me some time to tell you, my Ellen Dershowitz story. So I think we will see this as the tip of a very very deep iceberg. Look, I don't believe there should be special slots for athletes. Colleges are not supposed to be about athletics. Athletics is supposed to be collateral. But today kids who aren't qualified or minimally qualified get in because they're a good quarterback or a good soccer player. That's the beginning of the problem. That is doesn't involve that this case involves overt cheating and particularly on the SAT's and bribery. And so it crosses the line. But I think once this investigation unfolds we'll see that there's more to this than just the really bad guys at one end of this spectrum. It's a continual and shared their she's right about that. But keep in mind this particular scandal, and I think we have every day scandals and multiple levels. When it comes to college, admissions, this particular scandal centers around one guy who was being paid millions and millions of dollars. Collectively, though, allegedly you one one of the perpetrators themselves paid the guy six million that individual alone. I'll be interested here which school that was about but to get their kid in particular school. But one of the aspects of the scam was allegedly though, I have no doubt about it to be paying off assistant coaches at some of the top schools in the country. I mean, you were talking about Stanford. We're talking about. Yeah. We're talking about USC. We're talking about UCLA payoff assistant coaches to say that they were recruiting certain kids for their sport. And then at least according to the early reporting this may change his it gets deeper in. But according to the early reporting, then, you know, the the kids who otherwise would never really qualified to be recruited. They're you know, they show up. And they get in for a day. And then they quit their sport or whatever. And they just use it to get into the school other aspects of the scam helping families arrange to get phony, medical documentation, so kids could get more time on the ACT, and then allegedly in some of the cases working it out. So somebody else would actually be in the room and would help them take the test. I mean stuff like that. And I think one thing that I sure frustrates a lot of parents, his, you know, you get into a situation where you get an awful lot of kids. Listen, I don't have the evidence to be able to say what percentage of these are not justified. My suspicion is a pretty significant percentage where you know, these kids are competing on the ACT and most of them worked so hard to prepare for it. But then there's a certain group of kids who get much much much more time to take the test. Because the doctor is written and said that they need more time due to a particular learning disability and Lord knows. That's true. For some kids who valiantly battle learning disabilities. And God love admire the heck out of them. But I have no doubt. There are other kids who really don't have a learning disability or don't have much of one. And they get that whatever documentation they need to get that kind of edge in the ACT or SAT, which again, I can't prove it. But I absolutely suspected. And and I think this scandal operates on multiple levels. So if you have thoughts on that we'll take them after the break as well. But there's so much breaking news today. A fascinating story out of Denver about how many employers now are dropping the marijuana testing. I wanna go behind the headlines with that should employers be testing for marijuana. Are you less likely to.

I saw this study it came into my Email box. It says nearly two thirds of millennial homeowners have regrets when it comes to their current home purchase. They're more inclined to feel remorse over their home purchase than any other age group, and almost double that of baby boomers and what I found surprising about that. Don't we keep hearing about how millennials aren't buying houses? Millennials are living at home. And if they don't live at home, they tend to rent, but this is saying is obviously is of the percentage who actually own homes. Sixty three percent are regretful when it when it comes to to their own home. But I wanted to talk to I mean, you don't have to be a millennial. Maybe the parent of a millennial. What's your living situation? Were you able to buy a home were you able to move out? Did you have to move back in with your parents, one eight hundred two eight three one zero one point five and sixty three percent, man. You think he'd be all happy? You know? He finally got a house got your own piece of the American dream and. Now, they thinking. To the millennials who don't own a home. According to this study. Anyway, this from Bank rate dot com. Cost is the primary barrier. But half the respondents say they don't have enough income forty percent cannot afford the down payment or closing costs. Thirty four percents say that home prices are too high and one more thing that millennials have that the baby boomers did not. What is the Joe was that student loan debt? Oh, well, yeah. They have to pay back their student loan debt, and that's really impacting their ability to buy a home. And we know that here in New Jersey. You know, why Joe well because we have the highest rate of adults living with your parents. Yes. Out of all long time, according to census bureau statistics, I'm getting this from New Jersey one zero one point five article from November of two thousand eighteen from a guy named Bill Doyle. Census bureau statistics quoted say forty seven percent of eighteen to thirty four year old still live at home in New Jersey. Forty seven percent now when you look at the bottom end of that eighteen nineteen twenty one it's understandable. I mean, this isn't the nineteen fifties where you got out of high school. You got a job you in the military media me some people do, but you know, most people they'll try and get an education or or they're not getting married like as soon as they as soon as they used to getting married actually later than ever so their desire to own a home isn't as strong as it might have been sixty years ago either. But we have the highest percentage of eighteen to thirty four year olds who still live at home. So are you one of them or have you bought a home, and was it difficult, given all these factors that we just mentioned one eight hundred two eight three one zero one point five alley and mannequin you're on New Jersey one to one point five. Yes. Me and my husband. We're both millennials. We went and bought our house. It took us forever to buy. But we absolutely love our house. It's amazing. And I would not change a thing. Okay. He said he took forever. Why did it take forever? Because we were rejected in favour of older homebuyers, and that's pretty much why it took forever because we put in multiple offers that were competitive and even over price, and they kept rejecting of older homebuyers. Goo cares, if they're older, I don't understand the logic. What does that mean? Pretty much. They don't like people were going in with a loan. They want a conventional mortgage. That's pretty much. What person was looking for? Yeah. Not all that Wiley in the ways of mortgages, I'm gonna have one. But. Yeah. Okay. I guess it's different the difference in the loan. So how old are you? Allie. I'm thirty. Do you have student loan debt? And you were still able to buy a home. I well, my husband has. To buy a house. Do you have good credit scores? How big's your house? It's a four bedroom. House two and a half bath. We have an in ground pool, four four bedrooms and an in ground pool. And you say you're thirty. How things are looking up for Allie. Yes, you can make it here in jersey. All right. Well, how about your friend are any of them homeowners? Or are they still living with mom and dad? Fifty fifty. That's tough alley. Thanks for calling New Jersey one zero one point five you want to take advantage of the opportunity. If you had a lot of student loan debt say with mom and dad, but I mean, there are obvious drawbacks to living under the same roof with your parents. I think they say that twenty percent of the millennials who live at home actually pay rent, which means eighty percent don't. So what's your situation? If you're you know, forty or younger or maybe even in your forties, the own home with your parents or somewhere in between. Maybe you're able to to rent something with a roommate, but you're not able to buy because we have the highest rate of eighteen to thirty four year olds who still live at home. But they say the millennials are able to some who are able to buy homes just kind of regret it earlier grad at least part of.
