"Three. It's a home sweet home for NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Robert Bank in after their space X crew Dragon capsule made a successful splashdown landing and the Gulf of Mexico Sunday asked afternoon Thie astronauts returned Earth from the international space station was historic first. Marking the success of the first commercial crew flight test. NASA hopes that the successful mission means that the United States will no longer have to hitch a ride with the Russia with Russia to the international space station, Dan Did you watch this? Not the landing per se, but least the takeoff. Where was that? A month ago? Yeah, that was one of the coolest thing about that was watching. The miles per hour on the side of the screen, and it just getting into the the thousands. That's crazy. You don't see that very often. I don't know about you, but I sure I sure as heck I've never seen that

"Pretty exciting test pilots Doug Hurley and Bob Duncan splashed down off the coast of Florida in their space. Six Dragon capsule. Um, it's the first time there's been a splashdown in 45 years. And I think this is the very first ever commercially built spacecraft to take someone to orbit and bring them back. And it's going to be a lot cheaper. The Russians air charging. I think $85 million per head. I mean, they're just ripping off and have ripped off the U. S because all they had was the Soyuz. And now it's American. Have you noticed the capsule to inside very roomy? It's like a nice size two bedroom apartment, two bedroom, two bath. Is opposed to one in one And I think the capsule is made to Ah, hold. I'd like to know that 67 astronauts, only two of them. So you four go up in the next one. Yes, there's plenty of room. I don't think way. We've asked me It's not a spacious pardon. I bet when it's at capacity. It's not quite so it looks. It looks pretty roomy. It looks pretty roomy. I mean, they've added a they did a remodel at an extension. Like you putting in, You know another little room, you know, in the back I just slapped it on there. No, they probably had to get it. I'm sure they got a permit. Not if it was that Lake County. It's probably true. All right. There is a UC Davis researcher who is a former Chinese researcher who's been held without bail since July 23rd and the judge says, you get to stay in jail thing..

Trump Wants to Ban TikTok, NASA-SpaceX Mission Success, & Unemployment Benefits Expire - Monday, August 3rd

"It's Monday August third president trump wants to ban TIKTOK. Info on the NASA spacex mission success plus unemployment benefits have expired why trump's team is interested in Biden's VP pick and more. Welcome to Rob Song, podcast where I bring you the latest Progressive News and politics and ten minutes or less I'm Robert Cunningham thank you for tuning in. Let's get informed. So president trump announced on Friday night that he wants to ban Tiktok Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that trump would be making an announcement on these matters in the coming days he said this on Fox News Sunday morning futures where he also said that Tiktok, the Chinese owned short form video APP needs to be taken down via executive action in addition to Tiktok. Mike. POMPEO. Pointed to we chat, which is a Chinese messaging APP saying that both of these are feeding data directly to the. Chinese Communist Party quote for a long time a long time. The United States just said well goodness if we're having fun with it or if a company can make money off of it, we're going to permit that to happen president trump said enough going on the secretary of state added and we are going to fix it and so he will take action in the coming days with respect to a broad array of national security risks that are presented by software that connected to the Chinese Communist Party. Microsoft has emerged as wanting to potentially by all US operations of tiktok accents reports that trump does have a deal on his desk where Microsoft would lead acquisition of the US operations of six talk and Microsoft seems to believe that it's possible that a total separation can happen from tiktok parent company by Dance. It's important for you to understand that presidents normally can't just order a ban on individual companies like this but the fact that Tiktok has a foreign owner allows the Treasury Department to have broad. Authority over it. Now, at this point, it's unclear whether trump is going to allow Microsoft to buy it or if trump is just going to push for an all out ban, we don't know. But what we do know is that this is super weird coming just months before an election six does have one hundred, million US users, and so it is rather strange move it could alienate some I mean granted I don't know if it would make much of a difference, but it just seemed strange. NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Bankin are safely on earth after a historic flight to and from the International Space Station provided by SPACEX Axios says on Saturday afternoon both astronaut splashdown into the Gulf of Mexico after about two forty, eight PM eastern time a space x vessel was able to recover both astronauts from their crew, dragon? Capsule. Hurley in bank in two month mission was the first time that people have been launched into orbit from the United States. The end of the space shuttle. Program in twenty eleven. This new move of partnering for Space Exploration, with private companies can allow NASA to act more of like a buyer instead of a provider of these services now and will free up NASA's budget to focus on things like getting people to the moon and eventually other planets in the future. In fact, NASA and SPACEX already have another trip planned this time for six months with multiple. NASA. Going up to the International Space Station, this will take place around late. September. So be on the lookout. Additional unemployment benefits of six hundred dollars per week expired on Friday July thirty first and reportedly the White House Senate. Republicans and Democrats are all know we're closer to a deal? Apparently, all sides are on board though for another twelve, hundred dollar check like was done with the cares act earlier this year the main point of disagreement is the additional unemployment benefits six hundred dollars extra. A month is what people have been receiving since the cares act was passed Democrats want to continue at that rate while Republicans want to. Bring that down to two hundred additional dollars per week while eventually moving holy to seventy percent of lost wages Republicans additionally wanted to get a one week extension on the six hundred dollars per week of additional benefits passed quickly. But the Democrats are refusing because they think that the Republicans are just GonNa. Use It as just a quick win and move on. But the Democrats are saying that they want a full robust bill. Now, the Democrats have proposed a three trillion dollar deal while the Republicans are looking to pass. A one trillion dollar deal, and as of yesterday junk Schumer the Senate Minority leader said that there were significant divisions remaining but good progress is being made quote. We made good progress. There are lots of things we are still divided on and we're not close to an agreement yet, but we are making good progress and I'm hopeful that we can get to an agreement. Now they're going to resume talks today. Okay. But do not be fooled. The Republicans are trying to place the onus here on Democrats but Democrats came. Up with a bill back in May the bill back in May like I said had a three trillion dollar price tag. It was approved by the House but then has not been voted on in the Senate and Senate Republicans want to have a one trillion dollar bill that does not do nearly enough in my opinion. So but as of right now you know who's GonNa Suffer America, the American people that are unemployed we just had on Thursday. One of the worse GDP records for quarter ever if not the worst. The percentage of GDP lost was close to thirty three percent. I hope we get a deal soon things are super hard to pass in Washington obviously, and I'm glad that the Democrats are sticking their feet in and trying to get this thing passed the Democrats are not perfect and I fear that they're going to cave too much here. But we've got to get something done because there is an eviction crisis looming we need to renew the moratorium on fictions. Now CNBC just posted a study recently that twenty two to fifty nine percent depending on the state that you live in of renters may be facing eviction as a result of the corona virus economic circumstances these numbers are horrifying and I'm sure this isn't the last time you'll be hearing about it. Trump's campaign paused ads over the weekend, which is really weird because they wanted to rebrand their messaging and new ads launching today are going to be depicting Joe Biden as a puppet of the radical left. This comes from two senior campaign officials but the most recent internal polls show that the puppet of the left's attack on Biden is going to resonate with voters and speaking personally in someone who lives in a very heavy trump territory. The this is the talking point that I've heard Oh Biden's not the problem it's. Going to be the VP you have to look out for as if Kamla Harrison. Some sort of crazy radical assuming he chooses someone like her speaking of the VP spot trump's campaign is very interested in that because the quote unquote radical left thing that they're going to be using their ads is a placeholder for whoever Joe Biden ends up picking. By the way, we will learn who Joe Biden is going to pick around on tenth multiple sources have suggested he said now he pushed back his self imposed deadline from. The first week of August to the second week and one source has said that it's going to be August tenth now. So be on the lookout here. No matter who Joe Biden picks. I think that Joe Biden is well-positioned. Of course, we all have to go out and vote that. This is not a matter of that we have to vote even if we live in California or Massachusetts or Oklahoma Even for God's sake, we have to vote for Joe Biden, but it doesn't really matter as much who he picks. Think this go around because trump's campaign is reportedly very upset that Biden doesn't have the unfavorability rating that Hillary Clinton did in two, thousand, sixteen, all of this trump at drama gotta be Biden's campaign to respond Andrew Bates. Director of rapid response said quote the American people know Joe Biden and after seven consecutive months of failed leadership during the worst possible health crisis in generations they know that our nation's capacity to join the rest of the world beating back cove nineteen has been crippled by one overriding burden donald trump. Representative James Clyburn of South Carolina said on Sunday that he believes trump is trying to put a cloud over the election and that he does not plan to leave office. If he loses Clyburn told CNN that the American people had better wake up to trump and he compared trump to Mussalini and said Russian President Vladimir Putin is akin to Hitler further representative Clyburn said quote I don't think he plans to leave the White House. He doesn't plan to have fair unfettered elections I believe that he plans to install. Himself in some kind of emergency way to continue to hold office. Now, all of this is to say everything that Clyburn is saying here means that we have to so overwhelmed the vote that trump cannot cheat. We have to force him out of office because on January twentieth at noon no matter how hard trump tries he will not be the president if we overwhelmed the vote and like Joe. Biden. So that's what we have to do. If you need help getting registered in your state, go to vote Dot

China Superchargers

"We're here. Today would just have a few quick things to go through pretty quiet day for Tesla overall as Elon. Musk has decided to leave twitter for a little bit. Not necessarily bringing news to a screeching halt, but definitely having an impact. We talked late last week about Tesla, potentially seeking out some land for a possible factory or something else in the UK. Well today there have been some rumors floating around on twitter. That musk may have flown to London today. Wednesday June third I'm sure I could probably fact check that but I'm personally not really big into the whole flight tracking concept so I'll leave it at that just passing. Passing along some of the rumors on twitter for what it's worth did originate from an account that has blocked me I'm not sure if it is someone using the blacklist or something else, but take that for what it's worth x today we have electric reporting on some pretty major superchargers expansion plans for China. They say quote at their Shanghai office last week. The automaker announced its plan to deploy four thousand superchargers in the country in twenty twenty, alone and quote, and while I'm not sure where they got this information electric says that there are about twenty five hundred superchargers stalls currently in China supercharge dot. Info is where I like. Like to get my tracking information for superchargers, and they have the whole of Asia Pacific right now at just over four hundred super charging stations, and of course, each station has multiple stats. The for a super charger location worldwide is about nine superchargers per station I think over time that number would grow so if we assume ten charges per station with the support of four hundred new chargers, we could be looking at four hundred new locations in China or something in that ballpark. The super charger location build out in China historically has been pretty linear so I. Think with gigafactory Shanghai now ramping up. We're going to see that change, too. Too much more of an exponential type of growth, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the super charger numbers in Asia Pacific Exceed Europe within the next twelve months of course, hopefully, gigafactory Berlin means see similar exponential type of infrastructure build out in Europe as well, but China market is larger. Even Volkswagen sells more vehicles in Asia Pacific than in Europe, so at some point, those are likely to flip next. Today is an interesting news Ford dealerships specifically independent Cardio ships in the United States so non franchised dealerships CNBC has learned and confirmed with Wells Fargo Bank that Wells Fargo last month and I sent out to hundreds of independent dealerships. Them know that they were dropping them as customers, and they would no longer accept car loans coming in from those dealerships, a wells Fargo spokeswoman told CNBC that the bank had quote an obligation to review our business practices in light of the economic uncertainty presented by Covid, nineteen and have led the majority of our independent dealer. Customers know that we will suspend accepting applications from them and quote so the timeline, and how temporary the situation is a little bit unclear, but this may add in some cases a little bit more pressure to some of those dealerships now. How big of a deal is this really probably not? Not all that big. The Independent dealerships can likely find financing elsewhere, and as it relates to Tesla. This is about independent dealerships, so this is more of the used car environment versus new vehicles, and I think regardless of Tesla's disruption for new vehicle sales, and a little bit for US vehicles as well. I think dealerships for used vehicles are probably going to be around for quite a long time. Next is a quick update on space, X. if any of you have launched fever from the launch over this weekend, you'll have another opportunity to get your fix tonight if you're in the US on Wednesday June third. Third? At six twenty five PM Pacific Time Nine, twenty, five pm. Eastern time. This is another exciting mission for SPACEX. Because this is related to Starlink, this is the eighth launch of Starling satellites for operation so operational satellites four, hundred, twenty, one through four, hundred and eighty. June should be a big month for Starlink launches with three expected launches scheduled for the month about the crew dragon mission. There was a pretty interesting quote that was shared on the TMC forums by Astronaut Doug. Hurley was quote the thing that really stood out to both of us, and we mentioned it as soon as we talked is that? That, we didn't even feel the docking. It was just so smooth, and then we were docked and the shuttle. You felt a bit of a jolt. That really really surprised me and quote so obviously. The autonomous technology that spacex is using for docking at the International Space Station has a lot different than the autonomous technology that Tesla is using on earth, but nevertheless uninteresting and nice quote to read Leslie today I just want to give a few thoughts off the top of my head on the Nikola interview yesterday. Obviously some mixed reactions from that interview, but I appreciate those of you. That came to it with. With an open mind that interviews, not my time. That's Trevor's time to give us his take on the company. Then we can take that information and we can assess it for ourselves for me. It's about getting good information out. There were lucky. I think to have platforms to speak directly with CEO's of these companies and assess based on the things that they say rather than having everything be shrouded in mystery. So that's the whole goal I really appreciate Trevor taking the time to do that and answering my questions, it's not exactly the easiest environment to come into you, and it's not every see yo that is. Is Willing to do that so I really appreciate that in terms of Nikola as a business. I wish them all the best. My personal preference is Tesla an investment. I'm a really big fan of the vertical integration. That Tesla has I think that allows tesla to learn a lot and it rate very rapidly as you said in the past pace of innovation is the most important thing I believe that vertical integration helps with. That doesn't mean another model can't work. Nikola does the advantage of not having that legacy business waiting them down. That could allow them some room to operate so I. Think they'll be interesting. Interesting to follow, but personally not the investment for me, and that's okay again. This is all about open-mindedness, due diligence and sharing

SpaceX makes history with successful rocket launch

"Let's talk about space we lost some will not I don't and and and a lot of firsts were involved in this first of all it it was a private space company SpaceX which started in I think two thousand two and Eli must company a private space rocket company they worked along side NASA they pick they basically SpaceX did the whole thing from start to finish they designed the rocket they designed the capsule and and these guys launch astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob bank in Bob and Doug they kept calling him on the launch I was watching the live feed and I could not not think about the SCTV scary for the movie strange brew with Bob and Doug McKenzie I can't want to calm hoser it it is I don't I I love this kind of stuff I think it's absolutely fascinating and if if you're like why are people making such a big deal about this because it was everywhere a bunch of people watched it everybody was talking about it I'm it it is it is really quite a remarkable thing and you've got these two seasoned astronauts right these guys are like that the commander dog is a marine pilot he's been to space a couple times this guy has flown he's docked with the international space station on his own he's manual controls that is a nearly impossible task it's not tried searching for I did I'll try searching for it on link then you will have a hard time finding this guy to hire they hired like one of the white people in the planet is the only got this particular job yeah in or off the planet he's the only guy but but this time they used computers they launching these if you saw any of the video it's this beautifully sleek cushioned capsule that they're in they have and I can explain why mom was a who owns SpaceX yon yep and if you look at the inside the capsule looks like it really does Tesla's known for having a steering wheel in a TV essential hand side and end up breaking out into the Aggie can't look out of gas pedal and accelerator pedal and that's what the inside of this without the accelerator pedal that's what the inside of this looked like it was all touch screen also not like what you the the the NASA space capsule that you have come to admire and from from movies it doesn't look like anything like that anymore it looks much much more modern it is what the future space flight in one of the significant things here is this is the the beginning of the privatization of space flight right the the way it used to work was was it's not like that there have been private contractors building the stuff if you work at Boeing you know Boeing's history of building major components of every space mission I'm going it was front center it doesn't really happen without bowing right and other American contractors who do who developed a high tech but it was all in the auspices in the funding of NASA this is different NASA was involved but essentially NASA was the contractor helping these guys get to outer space it becomes it's a very interesting reversal of roles and if you don't think that that Jeff Basil's and his blue origin was sitting out there both rooting for and against the wasn't reading I think Francis aster but he certainly wasn't rooting for massive success unless he feels like Hey there's it's a big universe there's room out there for all of us it was very very interesting to think about I mean for you one must love him or hate him in in you probably do both on the on any given month given the way the guy behaves getting a space program off the ground in from two thousand when it was it was too two thousand ten till now is a standing yeah without denial of land over rockets and you know it wise it really is kind of remarkable and this is if you or anything of a space junkie and I am this was a real historic day and worth seeing and on top of that like we talked about once before on the show there is a simulator where you can actually try to really high it's it's similar to what you can try and doc this thing on your own that is it marks up the similar it simulated that they used I don't know how many times I ended up into deep space on saleable or brand right into the space station because I couldn't get it done they used to have like a a simulator in Cape Canaveral in Florida and I went down there with my dad when I was a kid and he's a pilot he he's a commercial if he's one big jets and everything he gets in the similar I barely I mean he didn't he didn't do it he couldn't actually do but got really really close and he's like man that was like the hardest thing I've ever done right the space shuttle used to have I this is my favorite part of storage space shuttle used to have two thousand manual switches right and you're when you're an astronaut you flick and then you're doing all the stuff turn these this this has twenty from two thousand to twenty everything is touch screen and these guys Bob especially the commander he's an old school marine and at first he was like I don't know about all this because when you're wearing the big astronaut gloves and you're flipping switches and it's real important that those switches get flipped there's you know when you physically flipped it or toggled it or whatever it is that right with a touch screen he's he's like that took a lot of getting used to so the SpaceX people are like we got you Bob and they created like a like a little like bloom like when you touch the screen you see some sort of a visual indication well it is actually touched it's the whole thing in your phone we're so between the two at the haptic response to refer to it as when your phone buzzes or clicks right when you do that kind of stuff the reason that they keep the shutter noise in a camera what they don't need the center noise in the camera anyway all of these things are because we're so a **** waited to flicking that switch to feeling that resistance some sort of physical contact with it and so they just dumbing it up for our own company even though it's not necessary that's exactly what they did here everybody knows Houston as in Houston you have a problem mission control this is as Mike said not a NASA mission so mission control you with they heard they heard voices from Hawthorne California that's for SpaceX is based out of so this is just changing changing the whole game yeah I mean but you know Hawthorne has its own problems so I suppose in some point locally we never get to that point and it and I think that that's really what now so it was not built solely to make space a government enterprise but to alternately allow this sort of building to happen and I think NASA's done a really remarkable job of pivoting to what the future is in becoming sort of this agency to essentially becoming an incubator for private space right and that is actually not a dumb thing for for them to do and and now we have four companies and more in other countries that are actually buying for this for this sort of dominance it's a pretty interesting thing it really is it's one of those many things like we talk about in Seattle that underscores what it what it what a real setback it feels like for Paul Allen to have died because he was also involved in a project out of Syria and so a lot of a lot of effort now in the private sector of doing this thing but this thing being successful is good news for everybody including other companies that are competing with them because we needed to see it happen from a private company and I certainly hope that this is just the beginning of a really really interesting future

B. I. in a joint terrorism task forces must make it clear that lawbreakers are going to be arrested that serious crimes will be prosecuted anti America must be made to understand that America has had enough so that that is essentially what you're asking why isn't any of this being done trump is deferring to governors trump is using federalism here what my friend McCarthy's point is he doesn't have to wait for the governors that he can go ahead and and deployed the guard anywhere he wants as he sees fit you think you should obviously yeah well I I agree I I'll tell you something else I watch TV last night every night if I tried to imagine being in one of these areas when this stuff is happening and it wasn't that long ago that if rioting broke out in the neighborhood or if it's loading or or any any kind of civil unrest there used to be at least some measure of comfort based on reliability people believed that the cops would stop it it was really bad people believe the National Guard to be deployed in the stuff would be stopped in the people engaged and it would be stopped and they would be held in incarceration and they would be punished and I don't think that's how people look at I think people are scared to death you're watching TV I don't care Washington Chicago west Palm Beach over here last night Clementi's you're watching any of this and if you happen to live anywhere near what you're watching today you probably don't have confidence that they're going to be stopped and that's gonna that's gonna be scary as it can be and then you start asking yourself what what what what when did it happen that they get the run of the place that they stake in area of town that they wanna centerfire or because where is it written that you get the run of the place why isn't my property and then if you if you have some poor guy in Dallas if you decide I'm not waiting on the cops I'm gonna go protect my own business and you get killed because you dared to defend your own property then you see that happen to somebody else so you save yourself okay I'm not going to go all about if they attacked my business I'll just hope and pray they miss sent the order they don't do much damage or whatever but this is unacceptable people have to be able to rely on the police now we also have to admit the policemen under assault police have been under assault and attack for who knows how long for engaging in brutality and violence and so some cops may sit the hell with it I'm not going to go out there and engage these people end up being tarred and feathered maybe put in jail accused of brutality when I didn't do anything it's a vicious circle or cycle anyway I really am glad you called Sir again she's thirteen south side Chicago very mature question she had will be back right after Rush.

It was truly beautiful once with nothing going wrong. The rocket boosters landed back to Earth as planned. So they can be reused and the dragon capsule is keeping the boys Saif on their way to the International Space Station. These is a big defense by six Elon Musk and also for humanity. "Rockets going up and landing back on the barges. All these things we've seen are culminating and a human being strapping themselves to what are these rockets and headed on up to the International Space Station? Now there are people there, right a yeah, we have an ISS. Yeah, there's there's a crew up there already, but we've got two more headed. Headed up on this dragon spacecraft from spacex Doug Hurley and Bob Benkin and I it's hard to over a it's. It's hard to exaggerate. How brave these people are. Let's be clear. Nobody has ever flown on one of these rockets from SPACEX. They're just believing in the math and believing the science and thinking that all the tests have shown them that they're going to be okay and that they're gonNA. Make it up to the international space. Station, because know how many people currently in space right now. How many is one of my favorite single use websites? Oh, like how many people are in the ISS right and it's how many people are in space right now. Dot, com, okay. Magic number is three. They've all been in space forty one days. Really, there's only three up there right now. Chris Cassidy flight engineer also. Anatoly even issuing and Yvonne Wagner all up there. Together in the space station and Space Party probably got their their own problems. You know there's probably some drama going on in that space station and other like Oh God to more people are coming up in a week here. I just hope everything goes OK cast is like finally and other American tired of these Italian in this Russian guy, another both from. Are they willing bliss? Both, rush but the two other folks are headed up there. It just a bit brave souls, there Doug, Hurley and Bob and we wish them the best. We wish the whole crew over there. We know a lot of people listen to the show who work at either SPACEX or NASA and we're thinking about you, and hopefully all goes well in the run-up to this whole thing quickly over to.

I'm have your host will walden now this episode we're gonna be talking about nasa and spacex working together to extract nasa astronauts from from spacex his crew dragon capsule so this is a crucial step in the preparation for returning american can i 's crew from u._s. Soil on u._s. rocket so this is going to be happening. Hopefully november fifteenth. That's tentative time hi that they're going to be launching these people back to the i._s._s. That doesn't work out. It's going to be early next year. Maybe january sometime in february possibly possibly that's kind of what's going to be happening but these recent exercises revolved around extracting these astronauts from spacex his crew dragon spacecraft this event was composed of simulation drills in was held at florida's port canaveral in during the exercise crew members from spacex and nasa work together to remove astronauts doug hurley imbaba bankin who are selected to fly to and from the i._s._s. aboard the crew dragon and they they were the main subjects of these recovery drills so they were kind of the test pilots of these recovery drills and these two who astronauts will board the crew dragon for its first human test flight known as demo to so we haven't had an astronaut launched from in u._s. soil since the space shuttle to the us so this will be the first time in a long time that u._s. Astronauts we're not going to be launching a u._s. Made rocket from u._s. Soil so this is a very important step and as part of the simulation hurley early and bankin were medically evaluated after they were recovered by nasa and spacex his team so let's let's see here. Hurley said integrated test like today's or a crucial element in preparing human spaceflight missions. This opportunity allowed us to work with the recovery team team. It ensured the plans are solid for the demo to mission so according to ted mosser who was the recovery director of nasa asa for their crew commercial program performing this complete recovery drill prepared team for both nasa and spacex basics to work together for the upcoming flights and he said we're making sure that the team integrates together. That's a key to any successful. Mission worked on successfully doing what we need to do to take care of the crew once they return to earth so these two astronauts are going to be heroes in the u._s. when they go back to the i._s._s. This is going to be an amazing time and it's supposed to be happening in november november fifteenth tentative date passably sibley january. If all goes kinda weird in november so they have a lot of testing to do before then and once it happens i will we'll be making the trek to florida to watch this launch in person. I'll make sure that i posted here for you so you can kind of follow along long as i go through this journey so i want to say thank you to everybody who has been taking the time out of their day to spend it here with me on space news pod make sure to subscribe to the show show if you like this kind of content and my name's well wild and this has been the space news pot see you soon.

"With doug hurley who is one of the commercial crew astronauts who had just been announced that day so that was kind of a tree productive hanson to but it all happened in a way that was not the way we had carefully planned out you know what that was also the same day that means nora had to go do another shoe would diminish raider in another building andrews schedule right after the podcasts ended that she was supposed to start simeon nor were trying to book it out of there the get to that building before he got there and hopefully everything will set up and we were we were the first ones out the out the room but they grabbed the elevator for us so we had to like kind of patiently wait and then run to be the minute we beat them by like maybe like thirty seconds and then like diminishment just kind of looked at me and or like i just i just saw his he's like wow i you guys kind of click oddest all you i looked at most you believe in magic then he's like no one has started laughing like i'm a wizard that fly they call me the audio is as true a flashback to a year ago where i think i first called you the audio wizard when i think it was john accidentally deleted all of the files and you had to resurrect literally resurrect the files from out of nowhere so that's why you ready audio wizard that's the story regular bill that's yes it is that was that that was interesting too because the jim breitenstein margai her podcast we scaled up a bit yeah so there was it wasn't like this like right now were kinda scaled down a bit we have we have a porta portable audio recorder we have microphones but this is we had like the whole set you had we had a it was on video it was on video yeah exactly so we scale up a bit to make that happen and now it's on you to consider as as as we've talked about sending american astronauts on american rockets from american soil all of that is fantastic but these commercial crew providers in many they they have seats they have they have seven seats on their spacecraft which means we could be flying tourists to the international space station episode sixty four is where we have normal ran come on guys if you're looking at a if you go to houston we have a podcast on the pages on nasa dot gov and see all the cool pictures all throughout some of the different shoots and different moments that we've done that is all men were making that happen even chips and stuff less i remember a splash was a spaceship crash testing you put in now is pretty cool so welcomes have nor on the team bill stafford was a great help as well episode sixty five with nick haig that wasn't interesting episode 'em 'cause what we do to record astronauts a is we have a certain amount of time that we try to get a bunch of different products we try to get astronaut moments we try to get all these a mostly video products but have recently introduced the podcast and when they came on a we knew that his wife katie hegley gonna come and we had this idea maybe we should bring her on the podcast problem is we didn't tell her we didn't give her the heads up that she was gonna come on the podcast so when you hear 'em katie hey come on that is her genuinely genuinely reacting to okay i guess i'm doing this because she literally had no idea but she handled it like a champ she's a public affairs officer herself so she i think she's very much used to all of that but it was i opening a because of that stark difference i opening colt you seem like a whole place is a change that now right now being used in a little bit differently at what point did you meet your wife katie speak of the devil hey katie wanna come here you have to were doing a podcast yeah.

"And of course, Doug Hurley later in July from astronomy, here's something really cool. A galaxy known his NBC thirty seventy nine a galaxy sixty seven million years way has something unusual happening to George lease gigantic bubbles of what we call cosmic rays. Some forty nine hundred light years across. Or streaming across space. What does that mean for the earth? Well, let's we have solar minimum approaching or well into it cosmic Ray induction or the incidence of cosmic rays is on the increase. This. Of course is not a good sign for the earth. The lives guy, George which everybody tells me they like we end off this way. A rare treat for coast listeners as the moon moves to its new phase on the sex. You got a chance folks to actually see what we call the light look for it about an hour, of course, before sunrise, or after sunset, it's this large band almost looks like this big coma sky visible, of course, from dark locations. And also, this is amazing. Georgia's we close this phenomenon known as Steve no pun intended. For my name. It's called strong emission velocity enhancement. It's just this gigantic purple band in the sky called the proton storm it's starting to be seen as we move toward the hawks. So lots to see in the nighttime sky reminds everyone, of course, George always remember to keep your eyes to the skies, Email me DR sky at Cox dot net, and George so many amazing things to come in.
