"Seahawks forty dollars on Monday we thought no that is our good friend the professor he joins courtesy of the U. a guess I hate John good talk to get how are you not to my favorite is great to be with you guys he has all this year yeah on Monday we'll have a try at that I love it I love it man let's let's just start and top with Russell Wilson but he's always been good but a twenty two to one touchdown interception rate is there anything that he's doing differently or is it just day he's each is good and getting better well the first thing he did was he pushed the contract extension because the last time you did the contract extension of twenty one point nine million on a four year deal is that it went all the way into training camp and he didn't want that to happen again so what he did he put a deadline on and the deadline was gonna be before you started the O. T. A.'s and you started anything what the activity in the off season and so he put the deadline and I got the deadline to get thirty five million dollars after that what he started to do was work on his core strength in his stomach to try to make it strolling a little bit better so we started working on it because every year he does something different as far as this training and so what he wanted to do was try to you know get the ball out quicker intro harder work on as longer passes and we I could tell the very first day of O. T. A.'s as a while look at this this is going to be his best season because what you was so noticeable was how much better he is throwing the ball again this is a very administered pop quarterback anyway but he works so much time into it then on top of that what he did as he always does but even more so this year he worked with this pass catchers taking them down to Mexico taking down the Los Angeles and so he got a good bond going on there to a point where the throws he's making to Tyler Lockett and the way that they're looking up is absolutely incredible I mean rockets falling down and the ball will come right in his hands the Russell on his long passes now is so accurate that he not only put in a position where it's not gonna be intercepted it's just on the outside shoulder or whatever is needed to be and that's worked out real well and then his focus keeps getting better and better and better this is the second year and Brian Schottenheimer system and so is more comfortable with that and you can just tell from the very beginning this was going to be his best season Tyler Lockett is just special in every regard and I know when he first came and he was a little bit of of a kick and punt returner but a great you know broken field runner but his route running ability I mean Doug Baldwin John was probably the best wide receiver nobody ever talked about and lock it looks like he's just stepped right in there and you have to say I mean eighteen targets and Metcalf is better but there's no question the guy that Russ's look into is number sixteen correct no question about it and really what's what's happened is very similar to what happened with Doug Baldwin the dead ball when did well in the very beginning as an undrafted rookie did well in his rookie year by the fourth year so fifty year he really started to emerge the Pro Bowl caliber wide receiver well last year that started to happen what locket because Doug the injuries were catching up to him last year he missed a lot of time his body was all banged up and lock it just got into a groove with Russell Wilson has even gotten better and better in the offseason training camp O. T. A.'s and name and training camp and so all that all that works and so now it's one where the plan isn't and throw the ball as much as they have in the last couple weeks but also because the defense has been so bad they've now been put in a position where Russell has outscored opponents to win these games and so what water getting in sync like that it's it's it's remarkable to see and you could see it in practice is only one of those throws it the he's had several times during the season he was hitting just about every day in practice where he would roll right and he would have Tyler Lockett go across the field right the slot on the left hand side and he brought on the outside shorter word defensive back can't get it and hit it accurately on most of them and that's a long stroke it's a tough throat but it's one that walking and he really sync up on jungling going to join us because we're talking about the Niners and the Seahawks on Monday night Josh Gordon what it what is the plan for him does is he going to play if so how much well it depends I mean are they in the in the knee seems to be okay that you want on injured reserve on and so because I was just a one way parking station so that he was going to go there and get him out and get him on a different team an immediate a roster spot but I think if you have a good week of practice which starts tomorrow many of the chance to be out there and do it I mean it the goal is if he can be the number three receiver they have to case number three receivers gave more and then they also have Jaron brown but because he came that campus canal clearly displayed and but you'll Gordon comes in six three two hundred twenty five pounds not as good as he was back in at the two thousand and thirteen season we're caught eighty seven passes for sixteen or thirty six yards but he still could be a good one and they just took a chance on it just because again they know they have to win a lot of games now on offense before the defense gets better obviously John is connected with the Seahawks where you've been covering this league here the the most connect to one of the most connected guys you know the whole league what happened when Josh Gordon at the end of the run with the patriots because they they put him on I are with the needy they wait interesting lady and I think straggled by design until after the trade deadline so just couldn't be you know somebody picks him up as a street free agent I got to go through waivers so they activated them off I are that they caught him what what happened at the end of Josh Gordon's run with knowingly John never member of bill bill so did him all the way because nobody made a trade form last year and you get to spend it well they stuck with them and state state supportive and then they brought him back and not only to bring him back when he finally got reinstated but they also made a starter they won't start six games I think one problem send it to be he tended to be a little late for some meetings there's some thought that maybe he wasn't in the best of shape which are you seeing a different times in his career and then the other thing was is that they they needed the room without them but to get some new in there because Muhammad with a pick up in the trade and remember that the rework some contract things to be able to do it and Neil Gordon was on a one year two point oh two five million dollar contract so they were able to save a million dollars by having them by letting him go so a give no guarantees in his contract so as a matter of I think they just got a little tired of him but more so than anything else they wanted to make room so they can get some new under under under the deal John defense we obviously that's where they hunger had under Pete Carroll but they're struggling and specifically the pass rush you you think name wise on Sir and cloudy and Jerry do at ten sacks is coming off that the that suspension that they would be able to heat up the quarterback better than they have so what's been the issue curry been one for three and this one because they pick up he Debbie and quality for a third round pick and two backups and it turned out to be a great traits because even though he only has two sacks and he's among the league leaders and pressures league leaders and hurries and also we days good at stopping the run now one of the most double teamed defense of edge rushers in football so he's lived up to his part now in on Ziggy on Sir and the with no training camp I get quality than at the training camp either but onto was coming out the labrum shoulder surgery and so far no he's not been able to generate that much getting to the quarterback he's been able to chase some guys down on running plays to the outside but it just hasn't been equalled what they thought they were getting this that's been missing Karen reed to court I had the a six game suspension and so this is only his third game back he's not been able to generate the password now last year it was Frank Clark getting some double teams that opened the door for him to get the ten and a half sacks last week he was better against the run the pass rush hasn't showed up so what they've had to do is what's more so Ken Norton junior has put in corner back pledges safety blitzes linebacker blitzes and remember this is the only team in football the stays pretty much in base defense with three linebackers because the three linebackers or some of the best players on their team and so the linebackers actually lead the team in sacks because of which is Michael Kantor test three by Bobby Wagner has to and nobody on the defensive line has more than two let's talk about that more I I can see that the first game of the year against the bangles and they like to run three wide and handed out of this tree ox won the game but anti shredded them and I have Michael Kendricks on the field with Bobby Wagner K. J. right teams are just not doing this they have been doing this in decades you know they're they're taking that third line backer off the field the going to to stack linebackers a nickel so why are they playing the three linebackers so much what everybody else is going to a nickel because in their opinion decals opinion no they they wanted three three of the best players on the field and Michael Kendricks is among the better players on this team he's he's good in coverages is K. J. right now Bobby Wagner's the tackling machine and the leader of the band and so they didn't want to break that up and so knowing that they wanted to also focus because they didn't do well stopping the run last year and so they wanted to get better and that and that to the degree it actually worked out pretty well they're pretty decent stopping the run but they have so many calls right now in the past game and without the pass rush I mean and so they've had the blitz and when they blitzed they don't get to the quarterback and often they don't get to the quarterback but they have holes in the middle of the field the quarterbacks are taken advantage of and so now because of all the issues in the missed tackles and go and runs after contact on passes what what and it had a run where they had to play a bunch of RPO type running quarterbacks they just haven't settled into anything consistent I guess the only consistent thing is are giving up a lot of yards this is so different than a Pete Carroll team because this is the first Pete Carroll team that I've seen as more of a band but don't great defense so when you when you've seen the forty.

Then we do like if the Niners were playing the no the Seahawks. We'd be talking about that. Like, how do you stop Russell Wilson? And what's ball Doug Baldwin doing man, you know, Bobby Wagner played at a high level that stuff but does he played in Super Bowl week? "Let's sure you can have a perfect passer rating because you get a couple touchdowns and whatever seventy-one targets to Tyler Lockett and Russell Wilson had a perfect pass rate. Now, please remember when we talk about Tyler Lockett in this context, we're talking about fantasy football Tyler Lockett the player as evidenced by that passer rating. Has been everything and more that Seattle could have hoped for when they locked him up on the extension, but fifty seven receptions, I just don't know if the what that says under thousand yards fifty seven receptions, if he doesn't score you're in trouble. That's all that is. Yeah. And they don't wear the ball enough. He scored ten touchdowns this season on only fifty seven receptions. That's anomalous. That's not something. That's usually going to repeat five eleven one. Seventy you had Doug Baldwin miss a ton of the year. And when he was out there was not really himself for a lot of the year. And like you just mentioned Andy this team clearly went completely one eighty. They went away from Russell Wilson the passer. They ran the ball. They got back to the good old nineteen seventies and says Schottenheimer. Yeah, we're going to run the ball smash mouth. And there's. Not enough volume to trust here. And I'm not trusting the touchdowns because look every player we've talked about everyone receiver on last sudden this episode you want to know what they could do for you. They could be a dominant one to go out there and win your week. They can go out there and have a monster game. Tyler Lockett, never did. He literally did not have one game over twenty two points. I mean, his his seventeen point nine nine thousand nine he had a nineteen week. Yeah. It was nineteen most of the time. What would happen is he go out have a mediocre game? Catch one touchdown. So he's fine. Yeah. But around when you're talking about top fifteen wide receiver finishing ahead of other players who could go out there and dominate some games. Aide in hindsight Tyler Lockett was good player year. But you just can't trust that you can't project that Tyler Lockets, darling. Because of where you drafted him, and what he performed, you know, based on that drafting so for me, his consistency ranking was twenty one he finished his fifteen. I'd put him right around twenty one twenty one twenty two uncomfortable there whereas Baldwin Baldwin is behind him. No new. Oh, real. Yeah..

"Eleven average weighs one hundred eighty eight pounds with a four three nine forty and a thirty six and three quarter inch vertical. So not only can just different body site body types, be very productive. When you get to the extremes productivity tends to fall off the super John norms receivers don't tend to get the huge numbers and the small receivers unless they're tyreek hill don't tend to get the big numbers. So Samuel from aegis physically. He's a guy who fall somewhere. In that middle area physically and South Carolina used him all over the offense of front a lot. They really like to use him in bunch sets or trips formation. They played in the slot and out wide. And he's a guy were get the ball in his hands in turns into running back. He kind of. Watching him kind of felt similar to watching Victor Cruz back in the day. Just has that ability to put a foot in the ground sink, his hips and then explode out of his cut just kind of create separation, and then maybe not necessarily run away from defender. But at least hold the distance. Yeah, it's interesting just going back to what you said kind of about the profiles of these guys. I have talked a bunch about how a lot of the Athol lettuces on testing is through the Combi in spark scores and things like that are going to really shape, how we view these prospects as we get further into the evaluation process. I the one place where that matters less the end, I would probably barely look at it sparked for the position is is wide receiver. I will so much more at at production for wide receivers. Then then I do athleticism in regards to like every other position. Why receivers are just so different in in different ways. They can win and the different ways they can be successful. You can be relatively not super athletic. You don't need to be a super athlete to win and figure out how to get open as a wide receiver. So that's that's one thing that's going to be interesting to look at because so many of these guys can just win in different ways. So at Samuel is a guy who's going to be interesting because when I break down these target yards added. He's the guy who falls under a full tardy yards added. And that's when I start to bring up kind of a red flag. That's nothing. They aren't good guys in the past who have been under one target yard added. Doodoo you Smith's Schuster was was one of those guys. But I think more often than not it starts to bring up a red flag. And you wonder why? But Samuel was a guy. Who knows still heavily targeted in his authentic hundred targets that was a twenty four point eight percent target share is. But he's going to definitely be IBI guy guy to look at going forward. So I'll jump to to my second round pick, even though I am not sure if this guy should be second round pick because it might opinion. I think he should be wide receiver one in this class. And that is JJ Sega Whiteside from Stanford. This dude is just I find him to be just super good and really interesting. So he is listed at six three to twenty five. He was a beast of four Stanford. Yeah. Ninety five targets thousand fifty nine yards. You'd had fourteen touchdowns. He was she's a guy who just wins. Contested catches those how to use his body to to block out smaller defensive backs. He is also someone who can just. Have win just straight up off the line. He kind of reminded me of like he had like a Doug Baldwin release off the line and at six three to twenty five having a bigger Doug Baldwin is is insane. Yet is sixty seven percent catch rate, which is great. And in terms of yards added yet three point five yards added which among the guys I have right now is eighth in this class. And that was with a twenty three point three percent target chair in the Stanford offense. So he was getting through net quite a bit. He added a lot that offense. I love his size. What his speed I love how the uses all of those together. Just create a full everything you would look for into wide receiver. I think our Sega Whiteside can bring to the table. I would not dispute you on any of that..

"That's not going to get cold everyone like calm down. I it just drives me insane. Like that's did Russell Kun. Was he outside the frame on that play? Yes. But the player was moving in the direction of what was happening the entire time. It wasn't necessarily a holding. So I dunno. I it's this weekend. As everyone's watching the same game, it becomes more and more apparent to me. Like, how many people are bitching about holding calls and the refs and everything else. And it just starts to drive me insane. But that's all I'm saying about that we can move on. You really putting holding Twitter on notice? I say I hate it. It's one of my least favorite things the things that will make me to say like, no, I'm done with you. That was holding. When pointing alga really nice block is probably my favorite like just the most automatic one. All right speech. Speaking of things that are really frustrated me. Let's get the Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys Bucko dude we bought into Brian Schottenheimer a little bit. I think it's because of those cable famous videos. Yeah. It was easy to kind of get in talk. It was a good hype. Video can make me believe anything is that the worst cold game you've ever seen in a big NFL mobile. Oh. Who in a big NFL moment. I'd have to think about it a little more about I don't remember. I don't remember a worse one. It's got that. For me. I don't remember a worse one. What would it be? Oh, I know. It's when the the Rams played the patriots in the Super Bowl and the players are going over to Mike Martz telling them telling him that Bella shack new the entire game plan, and they have to switch it up and Mike Martz wouldn't do it. Yeah. That's fair. I that was eighteen years ago. I was not nearly as engaged with those word as I have. Now, we're the same age I was grinding tape. So so that's on you bud watching that game yesterday. And it's not as if it was shock because all season. This hawks had been this run heavy asking Russell Wilson to re running backs. Yeah. Run heavy three running backs you having that be just the crux of who. They are offensively. Asking Russell Wilson to make a tone of tight window high difficulty throws. Outside the numbers and really Br allying on guys like Doug Baldwin in Tyler Lockett to make plays that probably shouldn't have been made. It wasn't shocking. But watching that game and just seeing how dedicated they were chew that approach when it wasn't working. It was remarkable. I I just don't understand how you can be an NFL team with one of the best quarterbacks in the league and watch. How will your moving the ball one? You're throwing it and then refused. The throw it for four straight quarters. I just it was so bizarre when they used play action it worked. You don't add to one drive. You don't get to run well to establish the play action. Just do it. You have Russell Wilson. I mean to be honest with you, I feel like it's it's not even a conservative game plan. It's just nonsensical one because the concert arrived game plan is to take what your team does. Well, and do it over and over and over again, and while you're those well as would really have Russell Wilson. It's. I I, you know, we know this anyone who's ever listening to this podcast knows that no one loves play action passing more than me..

"They just played a great game. We didn't play. We didn't play. Good enough. Seahawks. Running game wasn't working. Visit a game plan starting to run the Seahawks defense was working overtime. We knew it was going to be that kind of ball game going to be a different matter. There was chance for might be Biden's. So we just sort of make as many places you possibly could even with their offensive struggles down ten to six at halftime finished the first half with the twenty two yards rushing. And they struggled on third downs. Down. You don't get down prefers to call on your stuff game. Thanks. Left in the bay a little bit. And so that's just how it always has gone. We we just had a hard time thirty seven or something in the first half. They can't tell you can't tell how the game's going to go. You the offense showed signs of life in the second half of the actually took place on the field. Guys are making great catches and everything else, and we had a chance. Got a chance to win the defense. Meanwhile, continued to hold their own K J right interception. The kept the Seahawks alive in the fourth quarter. It was just a big playing on the team at the moment. The lowest. Penalties at critical times both on offense and defense would crush the Seahawks in the fourth quarter. You know what I mean? You can't actually more. When we come back. You know, those kinds of things. It's hard to bounce back from it. See late touchdown nothing. More and end up losing twenty four twenty two and either season in the wildcard round Doug Baldwin spoke to his team after the game. Basically the sentiment of the message was cherish these moments can learn from it. I don't let this loss being vain. And. Do the honest election in the mirror, and you ask yourself too tough questions and you seek.

"So we're back to that. But like the dumb teams, and I'm not saying the charges the charges are in that category. But like dumb teams would always screw up the running quarterback thing. Like this guy. Just running wild the whole time really notice. Other smart teams build a pocket make him stay in the pocket all the time. Like if any other guys that coach in the NFL thought about trying to do that too. So I don't know the chargers fallen that dumb category run wild. But if he breaks one big one, then you're you're halfway there man receiving. Other than Hopkins is the favourite Doug Baldwin twelve to win. I love Doug bolt. I was thinking this is kind of a Doug Baldwin game. He's so I mean, he's not like Hopkins. Underrated verse their tier, but whatever tier Baldwin is talked about being in. He's in the one above it. Yeah. So that's perhaps which only like overtime or you like, look, I think the luck one's the easiest plus two fifty. I would say if you doing fan to a fantasy this weekend. Luck would be my QB choice. I don't a lot of the other ones. I don't have a lot of good field. But I just feel like lock goes for like three seventy five and there's no game plan for. Why would why would they be like, hey, we're gonna run it at him or to throw them off luck. Well, do the thing that where he will just throw to the other team. Like, yeah. He'll at least once in a game or the drop the interception. But he he will not throw a no hitter for little guy. Absolutely. Give you one the cerebral always like an I stuck up for him for so long. And I'm glad to see him be good again. But there's always a a throw every now. And then where you're like, what are you had one Sunday night? It was like what the fuck was that guy ran back. Single handedly brought Tennessee back in the game costs us a chance to betting its Blaine gabbert around on. All right here. The here the games and do million dollar picks right now, we are up over five million dollars a million dollar picks. We have real point one million dollars. Yeah. You're going to get a check for five million dollars. God things are going good at the ringer fat. We're up five point she get whereas five million ninety five thousand dollars or harness thing is we didn't do million dollar picks last week. And I would've won because I had the the eagles tease with three things. I love the eagles in tease last week. That was my big one eagles Redskins Houston. Indie. Histon is favored by one and a half. I really liked the colts. I've been wait. This to me is like a perfect storm matchup for me because I've never been totally impressed by Houston. I think they stole some games that they should know one. They do a couple of good things. I'm scared of Hopkins. I don't think they run the ball. Very well, not that impressed by their home field advantage. I really like luck. I think they can black the Houston front four which is a game changer because if you can back that front for you, can do whatever you want to get them. And I just like the spot. I think they have a better coach, I think they can move the ball. It's one of the five teams in the league that I feel like they're down for or they're up three like they're just going to be able to put together the eighty are drive. And I like that I I wish I was getting three, but I'm not gonna over thinking..

"And you know, you you got to kind of figure that out tight end Blake jar win. He came on really strong in the in the late in the season. Of course, he had the monster game against the giants in week seventeen. He also had a game that was really spiked. In terms of usage against the eagles were Dak had like fifty five pass attempts. Most of his career game went to overtime cetera. But you know, he he finished number seven among targets among tight ends in targets in the final month of the season. And he also finished third among tight ends in fantasy points behind only. Evan Ingram and George Kittle in the final month of the season. He'll also top finish top seven area. Ours among tight end. So I think that he is a guy to take seriously, unfortunately, all that really inflated his price and brought up his price. So you know, you have to deal with that. But it puts him in play on a slate. Where a tight ends are there. Just aren't very many dude tight ends. And we will move over to Seattle where you really just don't wanna play there tight ends at all because Nick Vinet and Ed Dickson like share time right down the middle. Neither of them. Get very tired very many targets and they're just guys to avoid. But there are. Guys in the Seattle pass catcher core to target in the guy who stands out the most. I think is Doug Baldwin. Doug Baldwin took week fourteen off with a hip injury. And in weeks fifteen through seventeen I mean, he came back hot. And he came back getting all the opportunity than you want. I mean, he was number seven in the NFL area arts from weeks fifteen through seventeen Doug Baldwin is kind of a different type of slot receiver. You know, he's not like a an all underneath guy like, you know, Danny amendola or Colby's -ly. I mean, he's definitely a guy who can run deeper Rouch and his great after the catch. But to see him number seven in the NFL and area arts for three weeks span that that really stands out pretty much for any slot receiver, and he had eleven more targets than any other player on the Seahawks fifty three so. Lot opportunity there, and he was balling. I mean Doug Baldwin played really really. Well, when it can't after sitting out that week, and he's got a great matchup this week because you look at the construction of the Cowboys cornerback core. The guys you want avoid or Byron Jones and should be woozy. Big dudes incredible athletes, you know, long arms guys you want to stay away from while outside receivers had problems with those guys all season long. This guys are pretty healthy Doug Baldwin sixty five percent in the slot, though. Run sixty five percent of his routes in the slot. Anthony Brown, I think is a guy that we can attack in the slot. He dealt with back injuries in Ross. Of course, you've talked a lot about guys plan trying to play through back injuries. And he missed time late in the season. And he wasn't very effective. Quarterbacks in the sec from the Cowboys week eight bye on. When targeting Anthony Brown went twenty seven of thirty six passing average over nine yards per pass attempt. Threw three touchdowns and one interception. So I think the Doug Baldwin can win against in the slot against Anthony Brown Tyler Lockets of volume took a big hit as the target distribution really skewed toward Doug Baldwin late in the year in in those final three games after Doug Baldwin came back from the hip injury. Tyler Lockett, just turned into like an all out. Deep threat is a dot averaged up the target was twelve yards which is a pretty reasonable expected dot for Tyler Lockett in weeks one through thirteen or in weeks one through fourteen and then in weeks fifteen through seventeen is eight went up to twenty one yards. So he is on average being targeted twenty one yards downfield. He. Only got nine targets total in those final three games. So he morphed from a guy who's a little bit more versatile. Played, you know, play played a lot of slot. And he's still playing a lot of slot. But he's running deep routes out of the slot. You know, any became a pure deep threat, a low volume deep threat..

"The offense did not have this big playability. Right. And when you are running it, so well play action becomes just a little bit more effective. And I was looking at this the other day in the five. Games. Doug, Baldwin has missed or been limited. Snaps wise. Dude, injury Seattle is dead last in explosive passing in the games that he has played Seattle is the most explosive pass offense in the NFL. They've been fantastic on third down with Doug Baldwin. This is a really injuring match is probably one of the better games of the weekend. But that is something to watch for because we all think we all kind of gravitated towards Seattle being this elite run team in all they do is run it and that's true, but they have been deadly. They've been extremely explosive with Doug Baldwin back nowadays alvie. So if you're the Cowboys, then what should be their focus is they continue to devise their defensive game plan to at least neutralize the Seahawks. -fensive will what you're gonna do in its keys in. I think this is probably the matchup the game within the game as that Dallas defensive front has to be dominant. The have to stop the run on first down on second down forced Seattle to be passers. And that's the key. Right. Russell wilson's. Gonna make his place. Russell Wilson's gonna find some explosive passes. He's gonna extend plays with his legs. But if you can get Seattle situation where they're forced to pass in their offense of line becomes bass blockers. It's an edge. And I think that's the whole key to this game Dallas defensive front has to be dominant here in if they are there when the gay should be a great game Saturday night to set up to tremendous match on Sunday as well. The first game will take us to Baltimore aware. The ravens will take on the chargers for the second time in three weeks this time, it's the ravens a three point favorite bed. Online.
Russell Wilson won't win MVP, but to get in the playoffs, he outdueled the front-runner
"I'm Dave maker coach Pete Carroll gets a contract extension in Seattle it runs through twenty twenty one. And maybe quarterback. Russell wilson. We'll get more serious consideration for NFL MVP thirty four touchdown throws. Just six I n and brilliant and last night playoff wrenching win on his way out of town. Richard Sherman said the Seahawks have lost their way wide receiver. Doug, Baldwin says Sherman was right. We did lose our way for a minute. And I think that that was it was hard to hear the ugly truth about some things at times. But you know, sometimes the truth is also beautiful Baldwin caught seven ball for one twenty six on a score

Fantasy football - NFL Week 1 inactive players - injury updates
"AM fantasy football frenzy. Followed by NFL game day ESPN's NFL game day with. Fred Hubner and Steve mongo McMichael teased it second down and goal from the six slot. White ruffle takes the shotgun. Snap again. Shoulder baldwin. All right. So Doug Baldwin all preseason long. We heard about the knee injury that was lingering. And whether or not he was going to be anything more than eighty eighty five percent this year while I don't know if he was just playing possum during the preseason. Because all reports this week were good and positive. I know people the one thing you always have to do with a grain of salt is take the reports that you read in hereabouts and wait until you actually see it play out on the field. Now if Doug Baldwin proves that he's good old reliable Doug Baldwin. Then no worries. You might have yourself quite a bit of a value in terms of where you were able to steal him in your draft. But I will say against the Denver Broncos mile high stadium today, I would be a little bit reluctant to go ahead and start Doug Baldwin because the Broncos they edit Bradley Chubb, they now have those dynamic edge rushers that they had when they won the Super Bowl. Obviously Chubb in the plainly DeMarcus ware role while von Miller. Lying the von Miller role. Just like he didn't that Super Bowl year? So the Broncos presents a pretty stiff d for Seahawks today, and I would be a little reluctant to start Doug Baldwin today. I kind of want to see it out in the field. Make sure that he's completely one hundred percent before I go ahead and just lock him into my lineup. That said though, it kind of depends upon your option and Pat in lumbered has that dilemma, and so let's see what he's got Pat,

"It's an excellent question i have no closer to the answer the promise you that brandon marshall job oh yeah the thirty four year old wide receivers signing with the seattle seahawks tom pella cerro nfl network reported tuesday marshall broke the news on his instagram account posting a photo of himself skipping down the street in a seahawks shirt and this is going to be the thirteenth year for the wide receiver who really had a loss season in new york last year of season before that that was what the giants for for that with the jets was also a down year so wes seahawks need weapons brandon marshall in two thousand eighteen a weapon only theoretically nothing he's done on the football field the last two years suggest that he's going to be starting cal caliber wide receiver fact the giants went oh five with him in the lineup last year he averaged under nine yards per reception and took it took until the third week of the season before you had more more than receptions and i know he's being talked about as a red zone replacement for jimmy graham he's got three touchdowns on twenty red zone targets over the last two years jimmy graham has fifteen touchdowns on forty something targets it's an uphill battle to make the team i think i mean to make any team if he was looking for a team that he could wind up being started this is it they've tyler lockett doug baldwin and very little else amara darbeau i think they'd love to step up a third on pick from last year but not a lot of guys but just looking at the contract for instance it's two million dollars with incentives the minimum for a veteran of his age is about a million do the math he's basically getting about the minimum with no guarantees and he'll have to go make the team and just based on all the surgeries ad and how he looked last year i'm not so sure he will gets the cherry on top of one of the most suspect nfl offseasons league wide by the seahawks wow so you don't see this going anywhere i mean it didn't go anywhere last.
