"To say to you. Nothing for him is just comes down to intentionality, the decision makers, making an effort to create relationships with diverse candidates because that's the only way that he got a job in the first place. He was the guy that had several hair coaching interviews and didn't get a job early on in his coaching career. But what changed things for him was the NFL kind of had one of those networking events where candidates get had an opportunity to meet owners and decision makers. And he met the Spaniards family from the Chargers, and they ended up elevating him to a position as their defensive coordinator, and then when Jerry Richardson was making the hire for the Panthers head coaching job, like a decade ago now, I guess, if they call family and install what they thought about Rivera. And that relationship really is what helped him get that head coaching job and then from there, obviously he had success and that's what got him the commander's job, but he would have never had a chance to have that success if he didn't have that relationship. It's really as simple as making an effort to make those relationships and get to know these people and get comfortable enough to wear when it comes time to make a hire. You're not taking a swing on somebody who's a stranger to you. The league has brought back some of those programs. We saw at this past off season this sort of had one of those owner meet and greets with candidates and they're expanding the Rooney rule to apply to coordinators now and requiring teams to interview more candidates for head coaching jobs. And so we'll see if these programs work. This isn't going to be something that is fixed overnight at any level. It's going to take years and years and years for it to get course corrected if it does get course corrected. It's also hard to tell you who is there just for show and who was there actually trying to network and make genuine connections with people who they might hire. It's hard to read people's minds or read their hearts in that way. And so I think you ultimately just have to come back to actions and seeing what the results are. And that'll tell, you know, moving forward in the years to come. All right, let's step back for a minute here to Sean. I imagine this is something that you'll be talking about in your show. Back in the summer of 2020, after the killing of George Floyd, there was what felt like a watershed moment for the NFL. We at the national football league condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people. There was that famous video of Roger Goodell sort of falling on the sword and saying we the NFL were wrong for not supporting black players who have spoken out against systemic racism. If I recall, he actually encouraged peaceful protests. We, the National Football League, believe Black Lives Matter. I personally protest with you and want to be part of the much needed change in this country. think things have changed if at all since then? Does it now feel like that was kind of a fleeting moment and we're back to the way things were? Definitely still to be determined. I mean, it seems like players are skeptical is what I would say. I wouldn't even say cautiously optimistic. I would say skeptical because something that Devin McCourty talked about is he thinks it's important that these things remain player led. It's become sort of corporate in terms of how the NFL is pushing it with inspired change and a decals and the messages on the fields and things that had nature and they're sort of trying to steer the ship and it kind of comes off as getting some good PR, but something he said is and it's not just about donating X amount of dollars. It's like, what are you specifically donating that to? What sort of organizations are you helping? What sort of work are you doing community involvement? There's not as much faith in the NFL to know what they're doing on that front because why would you have faith? They've never done it. They've never shown to care that much about doing it and all of a sudden, when we see pretty much every major corporation that there is, you know, they became social justice warriors in the summer of 2020. Naturally, you're just going to look at it with some skepticism. And so what he McCourty in particular in other players like Doug Baldwin and et cetera, they think is important for the people who have lived through it and have walked it to have a voice. And not just as active players, but once they're the makeup of the league office, becoming more diverse. And so we'll see, but the NFL definitely is an approving ground space where it's nice that they've suddenly started to cure the last couple of years, but that's not enough. So to Sean, let's just bring this back to the reason we got together to talk about this in the first place this weekend. Patrick Mahomes, Jalen hurts. It is a historic moment. I'm just curious your thoughts and reflections on that match up. Yeah, I think the thing that sticks with me is it's not unexpected Patrick Mahomes being passionate mahomes. I mean, he's made it to far straight AFC championship games and three super bowls in his first 6 seasons. I mean he's only played at outside of Tom Brady, but even Jalen hurts. He was an MVP candidate the entire year until he got hurt. Offensive player to your candidate and they're different too. Like Patrick Mahomes is like, he's his legs, but he's almost like the prototypical drop back passer, whereas Jalen hurts is that type of quarterback that you saw get critiqued in the past. You know, the one that runs a lot. It may not play like Peyton Manning or whoever you want your quarterback to be. And so it's kind of cool, like different types of black quarterbacks too. With different personalities, like Patrick Mahomes is vastly different from Jamie hurts. They're from the same area, but they're completely different types of people with different backgrounds. And so it's an example of the levels they can reach and is also an example that blackness is not a sort of one size fits all thing. Like there's different types of black people in black quarterbacks and we don't have to fit into this mode. For me, it's the biggest thing I kind of took away from it is how normal it feels. That's me just, I mean, I'm 23 years old. It was more so normal for me to have a bunch of black quarterbacks in the league, but for people like my dad who was about to turn 75 or Doug Williams or et cetera who remember it at a time where there weren't any black quarterbacks or they were very few to see this has to be a pretty, almost unbelievable moment for them. All right, well to Sean, thanks as always for joining us and stay safe out there in Vegas. Appreciate it, man. To Sean reads new show is called between the lines. "That a little bit later on in the show. But I feel like sometimes you start to see things that snowball from an NFL perspective. And to the point where Mike tirico on the NFL broadcast tonight, the play clock hadn't even started yet. And the Broncos had the wrong personnel in and then shifted them before the play clock started. And he's making a point of that on the broadcast. I mean, like, oh, mask confusion on the Bronco sideline. There's 40 seconds left on the play clock. Like, but once something becomes a thing, it's impossible for it to un become a thing. And so I'm starting to sound like Aaron Rodgers on pat McAfee. Hold on. Let me rein this in. But I would challenge people to, I would challenge people to take a look at that game on Sunday, or the week before, and again, take out your blame advocates there and just be like, okay, is this, is this all due to the actions of one man or could this be one of those things that's like, yeah, it's just a little messed up at the beginning of the year and then they end up getting it figured out. That's what and look, when I look from 2000 miles away and I see an offense where the quarterback likes to improvise, you have a new set of receivers. It's one thing to improvise when you have Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf and guys you played with for a while, you know, going back to Doug Baldwin and all those guys in Seattle. It's a new group. You didn't play in the preseason. You don't play your starting quarterback very much in the preseason. And it's getting work through right now. The weird part was for whatever reason Russell Wilson has been running. Not that he has to be Lamar Jackson, but I mean, the guy had three rushing attempts over the first two weeks, which is uncharacteristic.

"Naughty up will call these people, but my real name is. Brandon Tatum, unafraid to tell it like it is. I got a couple of people calling in 8 four four 9 zero zero 7 two four three 8 four four 9 zero zero 7 two four three why you guys are calling in just real quick. I think I got some people already holding, but let me just make this statement and I'll get to you guys. New polls show that roe V wade decision won't save Democrats in the midterms. We did polls on my YouTube channel if you want to participate in those polls you can go to my YouTube channel the osce Tatum. And we'll give the answers in the last segment for the poll that we took the other day about Hillary Clinton, the people think that Hillary Clinton is going to run for office again, but many polls are showing that people are not as concerned about roe V wade as they are about the economy and economy is doing worse and worse and worse and worse and Joe Biden's ratings are going lower and lower and lower. I think his approval rating of his job in the economy is like 28% approval rating. He's going to go to zero if they don't rescue that fool. All right, let me get some callers in art from San Bernardino and welcome to the office potato show. All right, welcome to the show. Yeah, can you hear me? Yes, sir. Okay, my first comment is about Gavin Newsom and I thought there was a lesson to be learned through Alec Baldwin's house not to handle a gun around people who are running a crowd. Okay. One of them was killed that way. Just total disregard of how to have it on a so called empty rifle. You said he was pointing that thing around to people. Well, it could talk about one did. And number two, number two, when you talked about the children that are being killed, well, the numbers that are killed in these school students could be worse. But all those kids were there because they were bored so they didn't make it to school. So. Thank you so much. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. It's hard to hear you a little bit, but thank you so much for calling in. Let me just reiterate his points 'cause I couldn't hear him that way. I don't know if it was just me. But art had mentioned that Gavin Newsom should have mentioned what his name Baldwin was a Doug Baldwin. I don't remember his first name. The actor, what does he say? Alex, that's where the God. Where's Doug? Anyway, Alec Baldwin killed a girl on the set. The gun was supposed to be not loaded, or whatever it was supposed to be a prop gun. He ended up shooting and killing the girl on the set, which was a tragedy. And Gavin Newsom should be really talking about that instead of talking about some made up scenario of people doing certain things that don't even exist at this point. And then also, you know, I'll move on. I think you guys heard him. Let me get to some more callers. Let's see, janae, I think they take shitty name. Welcome to the off state of the show. Is it Janie? Is it Janie? Jeannie. Okay, James. I wanted it to be janae, but it's Janie. Okay. Oh, that's her. To the offset of the show. I am so thrilled to find people like you and the lady that was 80. I saw almost 90. I'm 86. I remember all the wars. There is a bell. Wow. I grew up in a town in Newcastle, Delaware, Delaware and Maryland were neutral states in the second in the Civil War. And everybody respected everybody. The high school segregated, the last year that I graduated, they had a beautiful black girl as a cheerleader. Everything just went on and they just went about their business. My father was supervisor, no company, and he had a farm during the Second World War because we couldn't everything was rationed. And all the farmers worked together. And I remember that we had, it was a slave boy. He was in his 90s. I was just a little girl, and he would tell me stories of the south. And I played with his granddaughter, which was unheard of. When harvested when they harvested the crops, the women would get two separate cables, one for the blacks and one for the whites. My mother was a 5 foot two redhead. Nobody messed with her. She said one table, and when I was a little girl, I remember her. Huge, very polite black man came over and he says, miss Edith, as you're going to feed the black folks, she said, Abbott, she put her hands on her hips and she looking up and he was about 6 5 and she said, James, have a seat. We're all about children. Everybody eats at my table. Hey, man. I think that should pretty and nobody dared mess with her. And that's the way I grew up. And as far as the responsibility, I had a 22 rifle when I was I think about ten years old. People taught their children. And each other respect and how to take responsibility. I raised three children by myself. My deep poverty, I worked. I was never on welfare with all of them. I worked two and three jobs. I went back to college in my 60s. I had a son with a head injury. Nobody knew anything about it. I took care of my elderly father. My son, I had a four point average. At one of the best colleges in the south. And made two international honors societies and the national deans was here book and 96 97. I'm not saying what you can do anything you want. But the whole deal is, if nobody is responsible in the home, they are not teaching the children and knows about them responsibility or being some kind of role model, that's one reason why we're in the mess that we're in. And if that lady that spoke up, I think her name was Joyce. I've never listened to your program before. But I would have hoped her and kudos to you and the people that call in and have guts enough and have an iron rod for because that's what you need if you're going to survive in this world. I remember the Second World War, people, the japs on one side, the Germans on one side. The men went to war, the women took over the men's jobs. Everything was rationed. The women shortened their skirts to make uniforms for the military. And Jamie were coming up against the brake, but thank you so much for calling in. I know, but thank you. I.

"They're going to make them very exciting. Rohan super jacked about a left tackle that has played zero full seasons in the NFL. But no, I am with you. I want to believe I like Mike mcdaniel. I met Mike mcdaniel at the combine and he shook my hand and he said, Conor orr, what is your favorite boat propulsion device? And then because my last name is fantastic. Yeah, I love it. So from that moment, I was like, sold. This guy is very cool. I hope he was by far the number one interaction that I've ever had from meeting a new head coach, which is great. My concern, I think, so I think that Mike mcdaniel was sort of the, what's the completion of the metaphor I'm looking for here? Who is the best kind of pop culture man behind the man? You know, like the guy behind the curtain pulling all this through. Kris Jenner? What's that? Yes. Okay, yes. So he is the Kris Jenner of the Kyle Shanahan offense. I think that he is the mastermind of how all of this fits together. My hope is that he can make that work in Miami long enough to kind of solidify himself there before the outside zone gets stoppable. You know what I'm saying? Does that make sense? Because now 40%, I think, was the estimate I heard the other day of the NFL is running some version of this offense. And I know that's offensive. That would be like the number one psychology professor at Yale and the psychology professor Pomona community college being like, yeah, we both teach psychology. It's like, no, I don't, you know, what Arthur Smith is doing. I mean, Atlanta. I laughed at that joke, but I just like to say I'm not condoning an shout out to Pomona. I'm sure it's a great Pomona is great. I'm not condoning the shade goner has been throwing. Yeah, what's a college I could actually share? Just make fun of northwestern. That's true. Yeah. Yeah, be like northwestern being like, we have a journalism school. Okay guys, yeah. Hilarious. But yeah, that would be like Arthur Smith saying I run outside zone and Mike mcdaniel saying I run outside zone. Two very different things. One guy kind of copied the system and cribbed it. One guy sort of invented the modern version of the system, right? So I have faith, my hope is that it comes to fruition. I think we need more head coaches like Mike mcdaniel, who are personality forward who are not afraid to say things, yes. Yeah. It's all good. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's great. Just the organization needed a vibe shift. And I'm not saying that that's, but again, tua is going to have to prove it this year. Everyone's in agreement on that. They've obviously even stockpiling lots of draft picks. I think frankly, in the event that they need to move on from two, I don't think that's a secret, but the fact that they've given him a coach that actually wants to play him a competent offensive line, competent weapons, those are things that he did not have. And I just want to double down on something I saw, shout out to Jason McCourty, who I think said this on NFL network the other day, but, you know, I've seen people say, you know, this quarterback doesn't need that or, you know, how many years did Russell Wilson complain about his offensive coordinator in Seattle or he had someone like Doug Baldwin not to mention the defense he had early in his career. How much more did Josh Allen improve once the bills got Stefon Diggs? I think Anthony Lynn gets criticized for maybe some of the in game management. He had in San Diego, but was an up and coming offensive mind when Justin Herbert was drafted. There are ecosystems that young quarterbacks need. And I think it's long overdue for two and a half this kind of support system around him in Miami. You wanted to see me miss swinton? Have you been hearing about the new government modernization efforts? AI, RPA's data science, things are changing at this agency, and people will need new skills. I'd like you to get some training. Top Gun: Maverick is one of the greatest movies ever made, see it on the biggest screen possible. You got yourself a deal. Tom Cruise, Top Gun: Maverick. What's your Russell Wilson take? I think this looks like it's going to be a disaster. It's like wow. It's just like an uncanny valley situation. It doesn't look right when he's in the uniform. Why is he so thick now? Like, when did he get so thick? A little bit on the heavy side. A little bit on the heavy side. I'm getting just veered very weird off putting just feelings coming off from that entire situation. I don't know what he was thinking. I mean, not that Pete Carroll is like Don Shula or something, but I don't know why it didn't work out there and I'm not getting a good feeling about this Bronco situation. Interesting. Wow. What's the conventional do people? I understand that he's I think he's a fantastic quarterback in the level of consistency he's obviously had for a long time is remarkable. At the same time, he has struggled now for stretches of the last couple seasons of the United States at the injuries, but I'm curious what the conventional wisdom is about him these days. I would say, I'm excited the Broncos new head coach Nathaniel Hackett was, I guess I can say Sports Illustrated's number one head coach in candidate last year and we profiled him before the season. I have a lot of that's another one that's curious to me. He was the guy who he was in Jacksonville for a little bit, right? And brought Blake bortles to the brink of a Super Bowl, which is like, did he really do that? I have some doubts about a guy who I don't think that Jaguar's offense was ultimately very good. And now he's like, it's like when the dolphins hired Joe philbin and it's like, let's go get the guy who co chair and Rogers. And then maybe you find out that Aaron Rodgers, maybe you find out that Aaron Rodgers had a little bit more to do with it. I'm not saying that Hackett can't be successful and it helps to have Russell Wilson in place already. I'm just I'm not sold on a guy with his resume. Man, we got the dean of Pomona college put us on a list now Nathaniel Hackett's gonna put us on a list. And this is like those Jaguars, that Jaguar seem ultimately proved to be very bad, like it was clearly a fluke playoff run. So how do we really judge his quote.

"Everything that you are seeing with. Every time he's going through the same thing desert. We'll do last year indebted. Still doesn't even have the upside because he lacks the speed to even be able to eventually make up for that. There's not say he can't make any place his he's a he's a good athlete and he has good ball skills but he is ally ability depending on how to start attacking him. And i'd even i'd roll with every time and take his lumps before going out and trading for a guy like camp dassler and giving them any type of draft capital. I i just i that that would be equivalent to whatever you give up from trading. Aj jenkins for for for doug baldwin. What was name they want from the chiefs to the gut it. I'll man john. Paul hurt jumbo like that would be the equivalent of doing that whereas just like you're bringing somebody in like. What are the expectations of this guy. What i'm saying. Why is he really going to help you. I i don't. I don't think i don't think he helps the forty or anything. I go at what they got right. Now you're going to have to figure out a way to build up amber thomas's confidence. He really get him gone. So i think dancers better than what you're leading on. He's not complete trash like you're saying he's complete tresor. I'm just saying he still is going to be a lie ability. And that's trying to get away from right now that that's farren You always have to wonder how. How much more comfortable will they be in a new setting with the defensive line. Will they be more aggressive knowing that they have that type of help those things do have to matt factor in. I do think the way he finished last year was very good. But the reason he's been a healthy scratch the reason he hasn't played this year the reason he struggled in training camp. The vikings asked him to gain weight which caused the speed problems. He's never really been a person a who could maintain right. I was talking to a couple of is about that. He's a thin guy and remember people talking about school he needs to. He needs a game all ways. We can be more physical gaining. He's not gonna make you more physical. Your they're going to be physical or just not not lifting weights and be a stronger that can be built a certain level of confidence to where you do feel like okay. I'm more to be more aggressive right now. But having a guy like dassler who's just six to one hundred seventy five. Whatever he was like. That weight has to come a little bit more naturally. These young to retire twenty twenty one years old when he's drafted like when i was twenty one years old i wasn't the one hundred and ninety five hundred pound corner that i was at the age of twenty four twenty five like the the the waking. Come on a little bit more naturally but when you forced it you start to have this guy lose. What makes him good to begin with. Same thing with a guy. Like devante smith like everybody. He's one hundred sixty six pounds. Everybody wants to gain on his. And as i why like as is shown to be an issue with you being right or underway or under the standards of what you feel like no. He's still whooping guys. He's still playing big at the catch point. He's still doing. All of these don't make gain this weight unnaturally so a guy like desolate. Yeah like that's not going to help you because you adding ten pounds. Oh wait that's just gonna hurt a guy who already wasn't the most physically gifted with speed. Now i agree one hundred percent and that's just you know teams being so traditional. That's all they know. This guy's one hundred and eighty pounds. What do we do. We make him meet more. Are we going to care about what else happens. No are we going to think outside the box or anything. Big picture of what this could possibly do to him. No we just want. we're just thinking bottom line. He needs to gain weight because in my mind. He's not physical when really he actually was pretty physical and he did challenge and he was aggressive. Renzo That's just the nfl being the nfl coaches being coaches. 'cause that's at every level and again. I think it always comes back to humanizing thing about how that affects the player. We never really get there. Okay let stalk about who the forty nine starting cornerbacks will be a month from now. Two weeks from now at the end of the season like are we going to see new names. Will they bring in somebody else will. Lenore have progressed by in. Will thomas have game confidence by then or we're going to be norman. Will it be. They have so many options. Could it be frigging dante. Johnson does not because to be fair last year when he played he was not bad. Not bad at competent. You look like you belong then. Last week then over during training camp and just like the the receivers know him or whatever but when he goes against the forty niners receivers. It's never get. it does not look good at. Aw but i don't know. I always i always want to give these guys a benefit of the doubt just because of the d. line playing in front of but you have to make plays when they throw utah and that did not happen last week but again it's one week and it's tough to overreact. But you know that teams are looking like imagine. Sean mcvay watching that game thinking what he's going to do. The forty nine secondary is probably thinking. I can scheme around your mind. I can scheme around the defensive line. I need to get the ball out to the perimeter and make those guys make place. What do you think is gonna happen outside there. I think if we're talking about week eight and on right we'll say we ate to the super bowl before on maybe We eight to the. I think he's going to be a five guess right now. I'm gonna go with emmanuel moseley josh norman. One thing. i do like about josh norman regardless of his physical limitations that he might have. We'll see if dan's up getting the best of them this year. But.

They went outside afterwards and was stern on the ball and like but he started running around doing like little like jews. Love tom. little kid parents do is negative. Co-boys aiden average. Okay okay okay. Yeah next to another one today. I don't know we don't of course not next week. We'll get next week. Okay what's the next. Oh kovin documentation for stadium and tree. So there's a few teams The seahawks on tuesday became the third team. Along with the raiders. And the saints. You're going to have to be proved that you're vaccinated to go in. And i make sense because there's a full blown mosh pit section right behind the enzo. Let's also they're wanting to put on a rage the saints. The saints are a doughnut. Can't open to what happens in vegas can't stay in vegas if you're not vaccinated what i'm saying. Yeah i feel so bad fateh words per usual and no constantly like this is me dancing trying to get him to come on. These are funny. These are funny. What's funny that might wear one another ninety nine. Get you deal on this. Snickers snickering midnight. Were just here. Just levin life and smiles to himself but then continues on point. But you're talking about something he'll just start texting. Fine travis. tell me about the story about kovic. Nineteen i feel bad for the people that are going to be taking the tickets and having to go through this mess and deal not for nothing. I'm the line that it's going to create. That's going to cause more of a situation than it would. If all the questions of the people are like. I didn't realize i had to bring the imagine. The people are going to have to put up with who have been tailgating and who are drunk and who are coming into an nfl stadium after a year when they couldn't do that in a card or got drunk and it fell into the bob dole. I swear both fake ones. Like how are they gonna to seattle specifically. They have a high tech option. If you wanna go that route where you can upload proof into an online portal. And then if you don't wanna do that. You don't have the capacity to do that or you don't know how to do that. You can bring your vaccination card and they will be hand checking them like. Tsa you'll go through and show them and they said that they have people monitoring for four degrees. But i feel like if you don't say that like that could one of those things like a sign in your pool that says the chlorine turns a different color when p pretty sure that doesn't exist but that people just write that so that you won't pee in their pool and you know what the right i never did. I mean but you. Are you a bartender thing about just the pain of dealing with like carting people. Oh bartenders didn't do that part travis. Bartenders carmelo time. I were the main bar that i did most of my working at was at a bar where they check your idea at the door. Twenty bucks for every single fake. Id confiscated really. Yeah so that would be smart. I would say nfl if you compensate the people who like a balance for every fake they catch. Yeah all the fake Vaccine guards it's going to be in the. Here's what's going to happen to the portals gonna crash. Oh what's what also so now. I have a question because what doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me is when when they do things like this where it's team by team state by state so now we've got certain stadiums that are enforcing the vaccine card in order to get in but others are not so you as a fan. What's what's the difference between you going to. Let's say you're traveling with the team. You love you go to a game for in a different state couple the week before then the next week you go with this team to the seahawks and now united states where some laws or at state level and some are at you know nationwide federal level This thing that's confusing to me is do the seahawks have one hundred percent vaccination rates because if you need to be vaccinated. Enter the stadium but they don't have to be vaccinated. Deploy argue that. They can't enter the stadium unless they're vaccinated unless there's some sort of an exemption. I'm not familiar with it. Seems like in vegas and new orleans and were we just talking about seattle The all the players should then therefore have to be back. Sorry come in. My name's wilson. Let me sorry sir. You don't have your car you can't come in. I mean doug baldwin please come on thrill technically is an thought source are the rules are rules or are they not. The rules is the question. If it's a role that we all have to follow. This is like during the summer when i saw people in the stands wearing no masks and coaches on the floor with masks mike i just don't understand what the rule is. What are we doing It just feels very inconsistent. But what are you gonna do. That's how i wrap up all my code bit stories now. Well well well what it is what can you do. It is what it is. What a day you know there were stories to get to. But you're saying that there aren't that's all i had that doesn't mean that there aren't more stories. That's just what i grabbed. No i mean. I felt like i thought i saw more Again we're not gonna talk about the wfl but there was a.

"His quarterback coach made aaron comfortable. That's not being needy. That's not being high maintenance now. Aaron's perpetually discontent so he's got different personality but when it comes aaron rodgers quarterback coach or a favorite receiver. Just pay him. Just just just just like the randall. Cobb thing i think they paid way too much but the argument is he makes her uncomfortable. That's where green bay says. We priavte overpay for randall. Cobb bright tom brady brought in gronk. Didn't pay him a ton but they paid them a lot for guy past his prime. It makes tom comfortable. You gotta look at russell wilson's career he's had the you know what the battle line running for his life for him. Seattle's done a really good job getting him. Some very athletic wide receiver seattle's front office got him. Doug baldwin undrafted lock it decay metcalf in fact you know. Metcalf fell in the draft seattle. All in so seattle deserves a lot of credit for this. Their front office. Ross has always had really captivating weapons. They've done a good job. Drafting receivers offensive line. Not great. So it's the nfl in seattle. I'm a kid that grew up there right like my knock on the seattle front office and i see a little with the rams and a little with the cowboys. They're very top heavy. And that leaves you very thin. If one of your stars gets hurt. Seattle's been very willing to just surrender. Draft picks okay. Let's not i get that. I'll give up a first round. Pick four jalen ramsey but the value to draft picks second third fourth fifth. Sixth round draft picks is when they hit get a free player for three years in seattle billion three draft picks last year. They've gotten into kind of a win. Now thing like the rams seattle to even a higher degree. They're just giving away draft picks. They gave up to for a safety. Jamal adams who i like. That's too many draft picks. You can't give up too. I for safety. I don't care who the safety is so now. They're in a situation where they gotta pay dwayne brown translation. You gotta start. Keeping some of these draft picks and they've got a hit. You know. this is not baseball. Were the dodgers should just go by. Trae turned max scherzer and we'll figure it out later. It's not the sport you gotta hit on some of draft picks but by the way the. I don't want to give this. This story is just too good to give away this hour. I'm going to tease. Has anybody noticed what. Bruce arians and tom brady. Dog cussing teammates all preseason. There's a reason for and this week. Because it's tuesday and i was gone jet skiing this weekend. is that i'm i didn't call and right colin wrong this week but i was really wrong three years ago on this show and i questioned the nfl for some chaos. And i was really wrong and it boy. There's a story that came out this weekend. I'm like wow. They were right again. Question the nfl at your peril because iced. I criticized a multiple times three years ago for something and his story came out this weekend and they were right. It took a while but they were right. Michael vick's going to be joining us at the top next hour. Good to see him. Peter schrager had all sorts of great information. The lakers now carmelo russell westbrook. they're holding. Press conferences the lakers. now chatty. here's the story this weekend. I didn't think got a ton. I was off friday colli. Leonard signed a long term. Deal with the clippers that is not that's bigger than people think because he was reportedly going to sign a one year deal with the right to sign a four. Why did i like it because coming off surgery. Why would he play next year in risk but they signed to a four year deal. That means he'll play next year. He got his money. So that is a big bonus for the clippers. The clippers said you know what we're gonna pay right now up front all of it. Kawai therefore will play next year. Our next i'm bertam date. "Listen to podcasts. All chapters of after the revolution are out now in audiobook form and on eighty our book dot com as an e up. So you know when you are You know your remodeling a house. You're rebuilding a house right and you have a budget. We've all got a budget. I've been going through this for the last several months. You have budget you gotta make sure with. The budget is spend the money in the right places. You know that if you ever had to sell your home you don't waste money on a on a kid's bathroom you now. You spend your money on kitchens make sure you spend it on floors. Sometimes the master bath you know. Spend it on the stuff we can get your money back right or the stuff like your roof that you can't get the house sold because it's bad like there's there's certain things got spend your money on with how well the same with an nfl team. You just can't pay everybody. Sometimes i listen to young media. They wanna pay everybody. It's a salary gap. You got to pay your quarterback you gotta pay a great left tackle. Ask patrick mahomes to protect the quarterback. And then there's usually a defensive captain or a great defensive player pay up. There are certain positions that are more valuable than other positions. I wouldn't pay. Punters allot safeties. He better be great so right now. Seattle a little issue. They gotta left tackle his dwayne brown. He's really good. he's really valuable in seattle. To me has three gotta keeps. You gotta keep russell happy. You got have left tackle to protect russell and you gotta pay bobby wagner. Whose about as good. A linebacker is the. Nfl has had since. Maybe a luke. Keithly ray lewis. I mean he's great. I love jamal adams but he is a safety. And i like k j right. He wants to get the bag. I'm not paying it. Here's russell wilson. Dwayne brown is at practice but he wants a new contract and he's not practicing and this is the best division in football. You cannot mess around with the wayne brown period. Here's ross now. Having dwayne brown it there's a you know pretty pretty significant deal. Because i think he's one of the best left tackles in the game you know. There's no arguing that i think he's You know as good as it gets. Nobody more athletic More talented than he is You know age is just a number you know so we definitely want to be able to get him back out there you know. And we got to figure that out because you know he's we need wayne. Brown is two things here number. One brady went to tampa russell. Wilson's been hit allot. Aaron rodgers has complained about this. You don't have to do everything the quarterback wants but we've had multiple guests that come on the show. Albert brewer said this last week. is that quarterbacks. Need to be comfortable. Aaron rodgers can we keep jordy nelson for another year. It makes erin comfortable. You keep jordy nelson jared cook. The tight end made aaron comfortable. His quarterback coach made aaron comfortable. That's not being needy. That's not being high maintenance. Now errands perpetually discontent. So he's got different personality but when it comes. Aaron rodgers quarterback coach or a favourite receiver. Just pay him. Just just just just like the randall. Cobb thing i think they paid way too much but the argument is he makes her uncomfortable. I tend to think people who are professionally successful. It's not about i q. It's not about this. It's what are your habits. I tell my gives us all the time. What are your life habits. Are you dependable. Do you work hard. Are you responsible and it's interesting. Tom brady obviously is that to the degree but arians comes to tampa a losing culture. Where good was good enough. And then what did i say when brady went from new england to tampa joy is my witness. I said a dozen times my only concern is. He's a winner losers. Will they be able to handle. Brady's intensity. I never worried that. Tom could play the idea that brady's arm shot is dumb. Watch the games. It's not as good as it was ten years ago. But tom still gonna. Top twelve arm in the league accurate smart got really good arm. But i said my concern was man when you are intense and you're a winner and you have great habits and you'd walk into a building where at four o'clock watch film but he bore city is rockin tonight and we watched early last year. Tom in chicago barking barking barking at teammates screaming at them. Good is not good enough. It's not good enough. So have you noticed. Tom brady in this camp. Throwing his helmet dog cussing teammates. Bruce arians also a winning history ripping his players. Here's bruce arians. Yesterday after a day off our offense just stinks and they got to break that habit but Defensively they answered about that came out and dominated the entire practice and It was good to see drop passes missed assignments on basic place. It's just a lack of concentration back in the day we'd be running bed of them. That don't work anymore Go to jail for that stuff now. they've got to grow up and man up. I mean this has been identified. So.

"And we end percy har- in doug baldwin germany occurs. I mean the list goes on of all the great players that we had offense as well too so You know as a special year guys really believed in loved each other in. That was really the thing that i really took the most from throughout my career. I've been a partisan really great teams in really fortunate to be a part of those. And i've been a partisan teams throughout my career. Weather's nfl or college or high school or whatever that weren't so good that had maybe high expectations in in the big difference honestly was the love and the commitment that we had for each other on those teams. So what does that. What does that look like with a bunch of muscle bone fastest strongest dudes on the earth. Love each other. What what does that. What does that look like. What does that play out like. Well i think it's two things one is love for each other in. Its to respect for each other. I think i think the the first thing is is you need to enter into the respect for each other and that's by the way that you work the way you sacrifice the way that you Put others before yourselves. I think that's what i really saw with that team. Is you guys were. Were doing every little thing that they could for themselves to be accountable to the team as a whole more the defensive a whole or the special teams using unit as a whole As a whole and really what that was is built respect amongst everybody. When i said i looked over at earl thomas and i'm like this guy watches so much film. He's locked in every walk through his treating it like a full speed rep..

"Percent. And as i said for those that have tens of millions of dollars and all the accolades and everything else it becomes that much more difficult when that door closes. So are you surprised. I still yeah. I was when i asked you that. Initial question about your initial notion prize. Yeah when i saw that that was my first like whoa. Wow right to put yourself in that position to be that reckless with lives your own and others right. Yeah i was. I was very very surprised and very sad is more and more details. came out. and you're right. This is kind of the teeter. Totter that we're on because it's criminal. I mean this is. This isn't lying to carry champion about. Jim more random. Let's be clear. Because i don't i don't know how you feel about these definitions. This is how i operate in my own head. And i'm sure plenty of people will disagree with it. Josh gordon has done things that are technically criminal. But i don't believe they put other people in danger. Does that make sense. Josh gordon's done. He's tested positive for drugs. Not just not just performance enhancing but recreational drugs and people do cocaine or heroin say those things are illegal right. they're generally not illegal because of the threat that other people are under their illegal. Because of what you can do to yourself in the problem to society etc. The challenge here is that and while. I'm always willing to offer a level of sympathy and understanding to an addict like josh gordon. It's a little more challenging. In this case. In fact. I would say i can't do it because richard sherman. Maybe he's got alcohol. Maybe he's got alcohol and alcoholic. That's something worthy of a level of compassion and especially when mixed with some of the other stuff we're talking about an exiting the league but getting drunk and ruining your own life is different from getting drunk and threatening other people trying to break down their door driving. After drinking what his wife said was two bottles of hard liquor and crashing into a construction site fighting cops. Those things don't get like brushed over just because you're an alcohol. Yeah and like that's fine and that's absolutely means that there should be a support system in place but it doesn't excuse the actions that put other people's lives and health at risk. I can't do that. no. I'm not an this consequences of all of those as well. The impact on your wife and kids and inlaws some family in this community. And and we're it holds you and yeah i mean there's there's consequences to to all of that and that and that is why this is such a difficult conversation you're right. I'm really thankful we were on the air that morning when this came down with the initial news and then even as he sits in over the course of those twenty four hours and is not able to post bail and in all of the situations more of the details. Come out because it's just it's brutal. It's just a brutal and you know. I think i said this. The next morning to paul galant almost as almost simultaneous sock is that news came down and that headline came down honestly. And i don't know how it was for you but almost a simultaneous. I thought about p carol of the different people within this story. He said all the tentacles that reach out. I found myself because of the number of times you in me sat with that man down at that facility on the air and off the air talking about richard and just man pete. How are you doing this. Well let's be clear is a rule. One break he breaks rule one. You don't have rules. You're the easiest parent. There is seriously your your kids. Go to the montessori school. They don't but they see that there's no discipline. Whatever you have one rule protect what team predict team and at every turn stone you. He's throwing the coordinators thrown teammate quarterback. Yes reuben kun by. Yeah yeah so when this came on honestly which makes sense by the way they should build a statue p. I mean they should already that we already know that pizza grades coach in the history of this organization. One of the greatest should be in the nfl hall of fame sooner rather than later. But pete i mean look who is not the first person to notice this but three quarters of the legion of boom has now had major legal issues. Yeah right browner in jail for j. prison right. He's in prison. prison program. Earl thomas member was in bed with his his father and another woman and his wife found out. That was a mess. And now you got the richard sherman. Three quarters of the legion of boom has had major legal trouble. The other by the way being kam chancellor. Who's like the pillar of the community. Like the exact polar opposite of any of that you throw in michael bennett and the challenges that he brings to the table throw in marshawn lynch who in no way has had any criminal activity like this but certainly was a challenge to handle as a head coach. Put all of those guys on golden tate. Clemens throw all of those angry doug baldwin. Was he a challenge at times and his relationship with the quarterback throw in a quarterback who they all think is kind of corny. Throw in cliff. April who's like another pillar of the commute like what a bizarre group of human beings they managed to put together serving seriously. What a punch brennan junk. Meany was the one who joke the most penalties all those guys. Just pete loved it. I know just the kaleidoscope of chaos. He told us that he he loved more than any team ever growing up. He loved the raiders. Right bay area. Guy and loved loved. The raiders and personalities now davis seventies and that whole cast characters. They were nuts right. There were just crazy and that that's what he that's what he loves soup. That's where he flourished. That's where he's got a patience and compassion and just a a sense to bring people along and when this news hit. I honestly was wondering man i would i. I'm just so curious you know when he doesn't have to deal with this thankfully you'll probably be out about it. Yeah i know. But i feel bad and offer sympathy but enough to handle the guy being on a team because no team correct correct man i just i. I don't know that image. In all of this conversations we had with them and pizza love from people. And i bet you this hurt him was his own kid I bet this just stung like this was his own. Just one is own kid like this guy. Member told us one time like when we wake up we wake up. The same way is wide open. Let's go like just kuku compete and beat everybody around like he just. He has a ship with richard that he just loves. I'm sure he does. But then when you see him. And you see the footage of him banging on the door of the of the father-in-law's house and repeatedly slamming his shoulder into it. Trying to break in yellen for the guy to come through you hear female family members behind screaming in terror. I mean you think about the kids kids in how they are and to see your key magic seeing your dad acting that way and read the police report of your grandfather having a gun on the door. Not knowing what's going to happen neck all of those things are are just incredibly terrifying. And i can't. I can't work up even a little bit of support regardless of of the challenges that he may be dealing with mentally time in life chemically etc. I can't i. Can't i can't bring myself at the moment to offer sympathy now. All of that being said doesn't hinge on what he chooses to do. Next if richard sherman decides to be richard sherman about this up. Deny there's no evidence that the finger right right pointed everybody else. Nobody knows the circumstances that led out is rice. And i'm not gonna let you into aches experiences. There may be some that are valid. I'm sure that money is a complicating factor. I don't know for a fact. Whether or not sherm bought the home that his in laws are living in. But i've heard that story. You know those things. I think are complicating but not excuse worthy and if he tries to point it those complications and use them as excuses. I don't think anybody should have much sympathy for him. In the way this thing moves going forward now if he pulls a brandon marshall. Hey guys. I need serious help and i'm going to go seek that help and actually does it..

We continue to see heavier than normal volume on a couple of different routes, one of them the southbound I five drivers, you make your way past the Boeing Freeway, the Everett Mall area. It's really heavy there all the way. Kind of off and on until you get to Linwood And then after that, poof just disappears about 43 minutes now from effort to Seattle or Bellevue, but it is thinning out a little bit. The other heaviest spot, of course. No surprise here. The rented Esseker brung 405 from 16 of seven all the way up to New Council still pushing about 35 minutes on that driver's You're really crawling past that's our 900 there. Valley Freeway. Really? Not all that bad. I mean, you come through Sumner and up through Pacific and into Auburn, actually, in pretty decent shape, almost freeway speed there the whole way till you get to about 1/80. All in all, though, we're under 40 minutes from Puyallup to rented right now, which is a great travel time. Highway 18 looking really good as well. Northbound I five as you work your way from federal way up to the Kent Des Moines Roads kind of heavy again and then from the north end of Boeing Field in the downtown, so rather pedestrian drive there as Doug Baldwin would like to say 45 minutes or less. From the federal way area on up into Seattle across the lake. We're still in very good shape in Tacoma. You guys are quiet right now. So if you know, normally drive to write five through the Tacoma core, you're going to be very happy right now. By radio. Real time traffic on the threes. I'm Chris Sullivan. 7 15..

But i think already have several teams this. You're looking forward to a big baath post-season from the man out of oklahoma so you know. Big twelve football All right terry mclaren as long as we're sticking with nfc east players here receivers peril term corn worked with doug baldwin. The former seattle seahawk this past off season to try to improve his getting a release when he goes up against the more physical corners on his schedule. This year term mclaren in two seasons has not had a great quarterback Someone say he hasn't even had a good quarterback but wide receiver to Level for fantasy managers over the last two seasons number twenty four and number twenty respectively in twenty nineteen twenty twenty now. She could explode as well. I think top ten is a little bit aggressive but it always seems like somebody likes maclaurin a little bit more than me and i always seem to just missed out on them Right now in in drafts. He is in the He's he's rarified. Air wide receiver eleven. He's actually going ahead of ceedee. Lamb right now. Keenan allen michael thomas going right above him like my concern with mclaren this year. Is you know having curtis samuel opposite him. Having logan thomas Who proved himself as a worthy tight end last year. And then you have the case of Of antonio gibson looks like a really good pass catcher and jd mckissic. Still there as well. I know a lot of those players. Were there last year. My concern is is the volume going to be there again for third straight year. 'cause it sorta has to be if you're gonna take him as the eleventh receiver off the board i think so bulky and you know fits will how to use his assets in this players one wonderful asset. I love what he does Writing you know the suddenness of lamb copied here if maclaurin s why many towns get the ball To him Within the cushion of the corner and let him make physical plays. I really liked the fact that players consciously working or one aspect. That was game a young player like that focusing on getting better than one area where he knows that he needs. This is a very good sign i would. I would give a nudge to this player schedule as well. I think everyone knows that. "Wilson relationship. Russell wilson is beyond frustrating. I think russell wilson is trying to figure out how to move on and classy way. That's what i truly believe like russ's a guide is not concerned about like how you think about me. And what do you think about me. He's really concerned. About what type of legacy do i leave behind. He's trying to lead the legacy that he did things the right way so other guys can follow that same blueprint so i think he's struggles with how to move on and a classy way in the way where people can look at him and say you know what he still did it the right way because that's important for us. Here's the problem the problem and everybody's talking about it You got jason lockenfora talking about. Oh they they need to protect him. They draft at one guy. Went off into lineman says they had russell wilson. They're always trying to figure out who who's still out there free agency or who's the guy that you know was should have a bounce back year and he never really go out there and and solidify that offense align now a lot of people like russell wilson you're holding onto the ball little long well pete carroll the office that you put in places. We're going to run first. We're going to run on second. And if it's third manageable probably going to run on third down and then we're going to take shots. I was there. We had no quick game. There wasn't an established game outside of doug baldwin and then you had a tyler lockett whereas like you had an option road you either break in or you break out. That was it. So russell wilson at the deep balls that there of course he's going to hold onto the ball. Definitely when you have that type of offense line in front of you so that is the problem. That was one of the problems. Other problems we know is like. Are we going to let cook. Russes guide nick as you know. Oh he's gonna scramble around he's gonna make plays happen but the ended day. You need to decide if you believe in russ to drop back in. Throw it thirty forty times. And i don't think they believe in russ watch the. I know. They don't believe in rush because i was there everyday before practice. I was sitting there with the quarterbacks with coach shoddy and russell wilson and we will talk shop and we will also do quarterback jobs. I our actually be in a quarterback drills like dropping back three step drop five-step dropped seven step drops. So i heard a lot of stuff. Well this week. Pete wants us to run a little bit more all well with. Can't we get into this little sooner. Or what about our no huddle offense like no. This is what pete wants. So there's a huge philosophical difference there. Ncaa so interesting. Don't you think he said. I don't think they believe in russ will actually no. They don't believe in rush. Because i was there every day before practice. I would sit there with the quarterbacks with coach charlie russell wilson and we would talk shop. There's a huge phil- philosophical difference there in seattle. I don't know man. Jeeze is first of all this football so unlike basketball. It's a lot harder for someone to be traded in football than it is in basketball. And i'm thinking russell wilson i mean yeah i would say that for years. Nobody has more responsibility for the success. Other office in their team. More than russell wilson. I think again. The only other person is patrick. Mahomes in cairo. Murray in terms of the pressure and responsibility russell wilson's right up there at the top and nobody has done more with less around him. The russell wilson now. Maybe you could argue. Matthew stafford probably has less around him. But matthew stafford hasn't had the success that russell wilson said russell has never had a number one wide receiver. He hadn't had reliable running backs as marshawn lynch he never had a dependable offensive. Line is offensive. Line has been terrible for years. So you know you hadn't had that tighten that he can rely on so yeah. I can understand possibly the the frustration. That russell wilson might feel especially when you know the first couple of games you know the first one five six seven gave this season. How many times did i go on this podcast. For how many times about report record a podcast speaking about the nfl. The week before toggle about me russell wilson. Mvp russell wilson mvp russell wilson. Mpp told about the status told about his touchdowns total about talking about responsibility him and decay metcalf in you know just just doing work and do all these type of things. And it's like the minute wilson had a couple of bad games. He had a bad game in buffalo. And then i think he had a bad game against the rams. It was like that's enough. That's enough throwdown. Let's go back to the peak. Carol type of offense which is mainly conservative. So i can understand you know. Russell wilson being upset and frustrated. The couple of those gained russell. Wilson didn't play well but phone. Russell wilson i'm thinking to myself okay. Yeah you're right you're absolutely right. There were times down the stretch especially the defense started picking this up. It was the first seven games of the season. It was all offense. Defense was beyond atrocious. Then we almost kind of flip the script. Now saying that. The offense with atrocious but the offense became inconsistent in ineffective for periods of times. And what the defense that then took over. But was wilson. I'm like okay. I get that but damn why is it that all of a sudden i have a bad game or two something like that and you want to you. Want to slow me down or d- kind of take me off of the hydro for a little bit there. But if you take a look at all the other great quarterbacks in the league they don't do that to aaron rodgers. they don't do that to patrick mahomes. They don't do that to the shawn watson. they don't do that to ben rothlisberger. They don't do that to any other. Great quarterbacks the franchises in the coach and everything they have faith they have trust in those guys. That despite having a bad game was such that they're gonna be they're going to do better they don't all of a sudden take the keys away from them instead of having them the ferrari they have them. Drive the dodge caravan. So why do i get the same. Why am i getting that treatment with my should be getting the same treatment as the other quarterbacks in the game because guess what. I am an elite quarterback. So i can understand where wilson is coming from on that. Want to be able to play this type of game and he must have do that by look. I should have a say impersonal. Personal manner Decisions i should be able to say. Hey you jimmy this guy give me that guy you need to go ahead draft this person and you need to go ahead and focus on the draft on these positions offensive line tight end something. Give me something when you guys are going to be talking about changing offensive philosophy in where we're going and who's going to be the new offense coordinator. I should have a role of that now. You see that these guys are starting to get offended. Russell wilson shawn watson. We're starting to get a little offended by wanted to have a say in the matter to improve the team improve the offense and the ship but now we're good. We're good so either we're going to ignore you or we're going to lie to you by going. Yeah we're gonna we're gonna come to you. Don't worry about that. we're going to come to you. We're gonna ask your suggestions and opinions and we're not gonna make any moves until we can get your thoughts and feelings about this do they. Go ahead and flip the script. Do the do a one eighty. I could see where russell wilson who's supposed to be. The face of the franchise who by the way is going to get the majority of the blame of things. Don't go well. I see man. What the fuck. I mean you know fuck. You started a little bit ridiculous and again the seahawks could be comfortable in. Were trust worthy enough to give him that. Type of power do they. Really feel in. My estimation was the dallas cowboys. how the dallas cowboys feel about debt. Prescott do the seattle seahawks. Feel the same way about russell wilson. And if they do guess what russ. They ain't gonna be come to you as far as personnel decisions. They're not going to be asking for your opinion about. who do you want as a wide receiver. Or what do we need to concentrate.

"Wants to play. And he said he'd be interested in playing for the Buccaneers next season, because who wouldn't want to be a part of wait for it? Shop obey his TMZ sports, There would definitely be something that would be interested in playing with Tom Brady. That by itself, you know is enticing. But having a relationship with Bruce Arians, you know, I don't know what they're gonna have going, you know for next season, but If I'm a part of it, if I if they want me to be a part of it, I'll be a part of it for sure, because I'm definitely trying to add a told me to mind my resume. I think a P is going to be in the Buccaneers next year. No. Could it happen? I guess it could happen. Have to take a one year cheap, cheap, cheap deal, though Brandon Marshall used to play with Russell Wilson, he's now part of first things. First on that first one. Brandon Marshall believes Russell Wilson is trying to expedite his exit in Seattle. Russell Wilson is beyond frustrating. I think Russell Wilson Eyes trying to figure out how to move on in a classy way. That's what I truly believe, like Russ is a guy that's not concerned about like how you think about me and what do you think about me? And he's really concerned about what type of legacy do I leave behind? He's trying to lead the legacy that he did things the right way so other guys can follow that same blueprint. I think he struggles with how to move on in the classy way in a way where people can look at him and say, You know what? He still did it the right way, because that's important for us. My question is based off. What though? Is it just simply the comments because I heard his comments. He's clearly frustrated. Does that mean that he's trying to move on? Not necessarily. Could he be setting up the foundation? Like I said, though? And telling the organization Hey, start listening to me because my contract is up in three years, And if you want me to stay, you gotta do it my way potentially, that would fall into line with the bread to Marshall saying So I think right now, Russell Wilson's thinking about leaving, though I would probably lean more towards no Then I would towards yes. Let's hear more. Brandon Marshall. He says the offensive scheme is to blame for why Rush holds onto the ball. So long now, a lot of people like well Russell Wilson own onto the ball little long. Well, Pete Carroll, the office that you put in places we're going to run on first, we're gonna run on second. And if it's third unmanageable, we're probably gonna work run on third down, and then we're going to take shots. I was there. We had no quick game. There wasn't a nest ablest game outside of Doug Baldwin. And then you had Tyler Lockett. Where's like you had an option round. You either break in or you break out. That was it. So Russell Wilson at the deep balls, Not there. Of course, he's going to hold onto the ball. Definitely when you have that type of offense in line in front of you, So that is the problem that that's one of the problems. So if you say Russell Wilson holds onto the ball too long, Alright. Could that be true yet could be true. But is it the reason why I sent 2013 He's been sacked. 44 42 45 41 43 51 48 47 times is that the majority of the reasons now? Offensive line is not good enough. A tear or two more from Brandon Marshall bring the marshal says There's a philosophical difference on the offense between Russell Wilson and Pekao. Are we going to let Russ quote Russ is the guide make as you know? Oh, he's going to scramble around. He's going to make plays happen by the end of the day. You need to decide if you believe in Russ. To drop back and throw it 30 40 times and I don't think they believe in Russ. Why, Actually, I know they don't believe in rush because I was there every day before practice. I would sit there with the quarterbacks with Coach shoddy and Russell Wilson and we would talk shop and we will also do quarterback drills. I would actually be in the quarterback drills like dropping back three Step. Drop. Five Step Drop seven Step drop. So I heard a lot of stuff. Well this week. Pete wants us to run a little bit more all. Well, What about this? Can we get into this little sooner? Or what about our no huddle offense is like no, This is what Pete once, so there's a huge philosophical difference there. Now, let's be fair here was bred the marshals in Seattle for one year was 2018 he played? I think six or seven games. So is he still plugged in to what goes on the Russell Wilson and now even from 2018 to where we are in 2021. Russell Wilson is viewed differently than where he was a few years ago. But this is not the first time that a big name quarterback head coach wants him to run the football. More. Aaron Rodgers, Matt before they made a conscientious effort to run the football more now, did Roger still throw the football it, Tanya, But it's not a winning formula. Toe. Have your quarterback throw 45 50 times. I know that they were behind today to throw the football more. But Andy Reid only had 12 design runs and the Super Bowl on Sunday. Look at Tom Brady. Even when Brady was at his best in New England that I like to throw the football, of course. They always had guys like Kevin Faulk, Antoine Smith of Corey Dillon, who is a better back. Even in this the second era. You had guys like Steven Ridley Shane Marine. Sony, Michelle wrecked Birkhead. James White. You don't need a stud running back. Just look at the last 10 or whatever Super Bowls that with that one, but she did running back by committee. At least you need production because you need balance you need to run to set up the past. Let's hear one more from Brandon Marshall says Russell Wilson doesn't believe the Seahawks will do what is necessary to help them out on offense. Russ wants to stay there, but he knows that Pete Carroll's going to continue to give them the runaround. You know, when it comes down to the offensive coordinator, did I really have a seat at the table when it comes down to how we approach our offense? Are you going to listen when it comes to, you know, building around the best player on our team me? Are you going to draft offense? Alignment a center are you want to do those things? And I just think is getting to a point where Rush just doesn't believe I don't know. I think Russell Wilson doesn't trust Pete Carroll. I can't buy that. Is he frustrated, though, and could part of it be? Look, how many times have been Saxons? 2013? Yeah, it could start to question if John Schneider and pique collar doing right in the draft room. Do. I think there's not a cent to trust their? Yeah, I have a tough time believing that For Syrians tells Chris Galvin at the parade, and he's not going anywhere. They don't.

"Todd put it out that we're going to have Adam feeling onto the Vikings. But you said catch Adam failing. We're gonna catch up without him feeling so that you picked up on that. That week. Well, that's like the Today show like a morning show would do. It was too easy. Hey, we're gonna catch up with him kind of lamb. Well, Adam will save me because he's got much more interested, created things to say that I could come up. I do have a question here for you guys before I get to Adam feeling The most touchdown passes by an undrafted player in a season in NFL history. Uh, this is touchdown. The sea most all time touchdowns tennis season. Now, Adam feeling is one The guy before him who tied Adam tied him his record. So tied for the most all time mine. Undrafted player Doug Baldwin, the Seattle Seahawks. I was gonna go it. Yeah, 2015. He's Adam feeling the Vikings wide receiver is we catch up with him and he joins us down. How you feeling? Good. Can't complain. Just got a little conditioning. And before I got on the show, so feeling good. All right. I'm looking at what you guys did. The Vikings did your 2020 playoff teams, one of one versus the Packers won one versus the Bears lost to the Colts lost to the Titans loss to the Seahawks lost to the Bucks lost to the Saints. So two and seven, their best team that you face this year's who Um That's a great question. Probably the bucks just the way that they were able to play defense. Get after us, you know, get after the passer. They got guys at every level on defense and then the way that they're able to spread the ball run out on offense and And the weapons. They have an office for offenses. Pretty impressive. Okay, Give me that defense, though. Tampa's defense How impressive Yeah. I mean, I think I think it just starts with their front seven. I mean, the way that they're able to get after the passer the way that they're able to stop the run fly around. I mean, obviously, we have Ah, pretty good run game in Minnesota and man, they're just able to fly around and then and then in the back, and they're no slouches there. So, um, I think you know there's a few of those teams. I mean, you look at the Colts very similar. Um, you look at you Look at the Packers very similar. I think those playoff teams that had a chance to go a long ways they have. They have guys who could get after the passer and they have guys in the back and they uncovered s. Oh, it's a good formula. Can you Root for the Packers orbit do you like Because they're in your division like you want them to do well, because they're in your division or you have to root against them. I don't necessary root for against. To be honest, I just love watching playoff football, So I just I just love watching, um, kind of evaluating onboard just watching close games, So I'm just hoping for some good football. I think there's gonna be some great games, especially Um, you know, tomorrow and Sunday, so I should be fun to watch. Yeah, but let's say the game is hanging in the balance. The Bears have a chance to win with a game winning field goal and you could you could swipe it one way or another. The Bears beat the Saints or they lose in dramatic fashion. What we should do. I I'd rather have the bear's way. You would. Yeah. Over the saints. Yeah. They're in your.

There's a real chance that Baldwin has played his last down in the NFL. I think the Seattle Seahawks entered this draft knowing that basically Doug Baldwin at the age of thirty might not be able to play football. Again, this situation where they went to this draft a new. They had to find a wide receiver. Doug Baldwin is undergone surgery this off season for groin and shoulder injuries.

"AM fantasy football frenzy. Followed by NFL game day ESPN's NFL game day with. Fred Hubner and Steve mongo McMichael teased it second down and goal from the six slot. White ruffle takes the shotgun. Snap again. Shoulder baldwin. All right. So Doug Baldwin all preseason long. We heard about the knee injury that was lingering. And whether or not he was going to be anything more than eighty eighty five percent this year while I don't know if he was just playing possum during the preseason. Because all reports this week were good and positive. I know people the one thing you always have to do with a grain of salt is take the reports that you read in hereabouts and wait until you actually see it play out on the field. Now if Doug Baldwin proves that he's good old reliable Doug Baldwin. Then no worries. You might have yourself quite a bit of a value in terms of where you were able to steal him in your draft. But I will say against the Denver Broncos mile high stadium today, I would be a little bit reluctant to go ahead and start Doug Baldwin because the Broncos they edit Bradley Chubb, they now have those dynamic edge rushers that they had when they won the Super Bowl. Obviously Chubb in the plainly DeMarcus ware role while von Miller. Lying the von Miller role. Just like he didn't that Super Bowl year? So the Broncos presents a pretty stiff d for Seahawks today, and I would be a little reluctant to start Doug Baldwin today. I kind of want to see it out in the field. Make sure that he's completely one hundred percent before I go ahead and just lock him into my lineup. That said though, it kind of depends upon your option and Pat in lumbered has that dilemma, and so let's see what he's got Pat,

"It's an excellent question i have no closer to the answer the promise you that brandon marshall job oh yeah the thirty four year old wide receivers signing with the seattle seahawks tom pella cerro nfl network reported tuesday marshall broke the news on his instagram account posting a photo of himself skipping down the street in a seahawks shirt and this is going to be the thirteenth year for the wide receiver who really had a loss season in new york last year of season before that that was what the giants for for that with the jets was also a down year so wes seahawks need weapons brandon marshall in two thousand eighteen a weapon only theoretically nothing he's done on the football field the last two years suggest that he's going to be starting cal caliber wide receiver fact the giants went oh five with him in the lineup last year he averaged under nine yards per reception and took it took until the third week of the season before you had more more than receptions and i know he's being talked about as a red zone replacement for jimmy graham he's got three touchdowns on twenty red zone targets over the last two years jimmy graham has fifteen touchdowns on forty something targets it's an uphill battle to make the team i think i mean to make any team if he was looking for a team that he could wind up being started this is it they've tyler lockett doug baldwin and very little else amara darbeau i think they'd love to step up a third on pick from last year but not a lot of guys but just looking at the contract for instance it's two million dollars with incentives the minimum for a veteran of his age is about a million do the math he's basically getting about the minimum with no guarantees and he'll have to go make the team and just based on all the surgeries ad and how he looked last year i'm not so sure he will gets the cherry on top of one of the most suspect nfl offseasons league wide by the seahawks wow so you don't see this going anywhere i mean it didn't go anywhere last.
