She says they had a good laugh when he told him. Would you guys ever fess up to a story about something like this with somebody. Well i have to say. I don't think i've told my husband this. But i was a fan of mrs doubtfire when we were kids and boy meets world and i think it's weird i i was kind of like playing it cool like i don't even know who you are. Just marry me. You know. "Like how to we use yoga as a mental health tool and that really shifted things for me personally so i was really excited to specifically teach that way and teach yoga for the processing of trauma like how. How do we use the body to really work through those traumatic events. That that our body and mind is really having a hard time letting go of so. I read a lot. And i study a lot and i've had so many wonderful teachers and and you know influences that that i just kind of pull from everything i can get my hands on you. Consult with people individually so save. Somebody is taking is is all in on everything you're doing. Do refined maybe consulting is not the right word. But do you talk with people individually you find that that takes place a lot about what they're going through the battles they're fighting. Yeah i do one on one. Mindfulness a counseling consulting. Whatever you wanna call it. I love doing that. Because we're really able to kind of sit down and say okay like what. What do you need help with today. What is kind of what is up for you today. What do you need help with what you need tools for and we can really drill down on specific actionable things right. This is not like airy-fairy. Hippy stuff this is you know based in dealing with the sympathetic nervous system and so how do we really kind of give the person the most tools to be able to manage things. so i do weekend workshops. I do all kinds of classes. But i also do one on one coaching in a lisa's website for those listening is real. Lisa jacob dot com. Is there anything else you wanted to throw out there. "A road that he didn't want me to take Beautiful comment Let me ask you. So is it hard to contain yourself during scenes with rob and not only you but the rest of the cast was because he's always i mean he's way ahead of his time as far as comedy as far as his view on anxiety depression. I mean he's just such a he was such a visionary was it hard to contain yourself around him with during shoots. Oh i totally ruined a taker too. Yeah so there is one moment where pierce says. Your accent is a little muddled and robin comes back with so is your tan and that was not in the script and it was totally off the cuff and i was off camera watching and i lost it like i thought it was hilarious and i don't know what the audio wizards did too. Because that was the only take so. Somehow they removed me laughing out of out of that sound so that i didn't actually ruin the tank. They could use it but yeah it was. It was hard. there's also story about. Christopher columbus seems like a very sweet guys. Well introducing you to his mother who is later. Obviously mrs doubtfire. I think he was. You might have been matthew. He introduces is is quote unquote. Mother did that happen lisa. I'm still not over that. Are you guys all in like do you believe at the time that this is. Christopher columbus his mother one hundred percent yes so. Chris introduced us to his mom and it was. It was the three of us. I believe mara was there as well and we just chatted with his mom. And we'd we'd never seen robin in in his doubtfire makeup. And i know personally for me. I was really worried about doing this movie. Because i thought there's absolutely no way that you know. Make up and body sue. Whatever that that robin as this character is going to be able to fool his entire family into believing that that he is this woman and so i was deeply concerned actually about my career in doing this movie because i thought this is going to be terrible. There's going be a laughingstock. it's just gonna be a garbage movie. And i'm going to be really embarrassed to be involved with it and that was the moment where it changed because the three of us totally bought into the fact that this was this was chris's mom and we chatted with her and and then later we. We came back on sad and we were like. Oh my god. That was robin. we had zero idea. Oh my god. This movie actually might be really good. That's great you mentioned pierce brosnan earlier. He had so much fun with him. I mean the run by fruiting might be one of the best lines in all of movie. I it's just such a wonderful family. You could just tell that you guys are you bonded really well and mrs doubtfire certainly a precursor to what you do in the present It helped so many kids. And i remember. I had friends that this movie help with their parents were separated or getting divorced. This movie just had such a huge heart. In that way to last things about mrs doubtfire fourteen fourteen years old. Do you find that your coping with anxiety at that time. How bad was it. Because i know it was an issue with your high school where they quote on quote. You know broke up with you. I wish my might highschool broke up with me by the way lisa. But but then robin does something really sweet in your high school still says no. But they're like they still frame to let her talk about phony but anyways it's a great story share. Whatever you'd like out of it. I think people would enjoy that. Yes so it's down. Fire was a particularly long. Shoot because we had so many rehearsals and it was really. The schedule was very spaced out. Because robin needed to spend so much time in the makeup chair everyday so we had a particularly long shoot for that. And so i was at the time going to high school in canada. Which is where. I'm from where. I lived at the time and so part way through the shoot. I had been sending my schoolwork back. They'd been putting work together and mailing it to me. i'd been doing it with my tutor. Child actors are required to have three hours of schooling onset every day. And so i was doing my schoolwork and sending it back to my high school but they decided that even though they had agreed to this arrangement that it was too hard on the teachers to have to put together schoolwork for me and so they just basically told me like. Don't come back. This is too hard. We don't wanna do this anymore. Which was fairly devastating. When it's kind of the only normal thing in your world as a as a fourteen year old and so. I was pretty upset about that. Robin saw that. I was upset. Asked me what was going on. And when i explained to him he insisted on sending a letter to my principal and so the letter was incredibly kind. I have it up on my website if anybody wants to see it but it was incredibly kind letter saying. Basically like hey. This kid is trying to balance her career and her education you know. Can you please help her out and they. They received a letter framed it and put it up in the principal's office but they didn't ask me to come back so it didn't work however you know it did again at. It taught me a lot about kind of you know he. He stuck his neck out for me he. He did something for me that he didn't have to do. And even though it didn't change the outcome it absolutely meant the world to me. I know that he had my back and that he acknowledged like hey. This is not right and that was something that had a really a really massive impact on me beautiful and they want to make a part two. In for variety of reasons to come to fruition. But it was. Mrs doubtfire would follow you to college to keep an eye on you. I thought that would have been an interesting scenario. I would be remiss if i didn't mention Independence day another wonderful movie you've done. Is there any scenario. Lisa where you would.

"He's remington steele from eighty to eighty seven at some point people decide. Wow this is everything we've ever wanted from a james bond. Let's make this happen. Nbc's like now. We're actually not going to make this happen. He's remington steele. We have under contract the james bond. They will not be happening so he ends up getting passed over his james bond which is a really good movie. What if because. I think he would have been you know. He was good in when he finally got to ninety five. But there are a couple of other ones. That i think he would have been better than who they picked and basically goes into a career drought. Remington steele gets cancelled. Eighty seven and you look through his movies from eighty seven to ninety two and It's pretty grim. And then we have a brosnan science in In mrs doubtfire manda yes. And you're here for it on essential pierce brosnan tax because it sets up i mean remington steele obviously sat up james bond. Even though i steal something that i know everything about and have never seen a frame of what it is i- consequences and grateful for it. I'm just like i don't know. I guess he was a spy. But so then. Mrs doubtfire brings him back as kind of like the charming stylish lithuania that sets up both james bond and the time has crowd affair. My most underrated the ninety. Three me. please not the original. Yes thank you shea would love to. I have as much time as you guys want for that. And then also in a way sets up mama mia and mama mia to where. He is. Reclaiming the absent dad. It's like roll to great effect and also singing and and being very handsome in tropical or sunshine locations. Which is a core pierce brosnan role for me. It's interesting usually this part. It's the handsome guy. But he's huge asshole and they have the when he's at the bar and he's talking to the guy guys i will man. You're settling down. She has kids in any other movie. Pierce presents like yeah. I'll get rid of those little rugrats. Later i'm just here for the sex or and then you're like oh you're a bad guy but they don't do that with this. They actually make him a likeable guy throughout the movie would shades is they they kinda swerve us on it and you ended up really liking pierce brosnan hoping kind of works out with him and sally field. Which is that we're expected to go was watching this. The yeah i feel the same way i..

"I'm curious how many people were Convinced at the beginning of last week show that they missed out on something. Brendan did a fantastic job. Flaws and stuff other. That was awesome. Yeah 'cause like when we were recording it. We were just goofing around. The three of us. And i went back to listen to it yesterday just to hear what he did. I don't typically go back and listen to our shows but to hear all the applause and stuff. I was like well here like really. Pull it off you know. I was a little sad. Because i didn't hear my voice at the beginning on my call. They did three hundred without means some big arena. He effort to get you that memo. That's cool. It's cool guys lousy going. How's your shoulder He told me a minute ago off air. But i wanted to give him date. If you don't learn not much progress a little bit of progress still physical therapy since I think we talked about how i kind of reinjured it doing. The pulse start thing and they did some tests in. It's not rotator cuff Injury which is really good. I thought toward something because of the amount of pain but they said it's it's still all related to that nerve so Nerves take a long time to over. So we're still doing the exercises. That i need to do and still gonna physical therapy. Somebody couple people actually reached out and said you know you can get electric starters for the go carts and i have one and i i basically race in two different leagues and one league allows the electric starter and one leak doesn't so I'm hoping maybe we can have a discussion in the other league about. I mean a lot of us are old men and and these these engines are a little bit to start because of they have a higher compression ratio and So it's not as easy as starting to more and I don't know we'll see the the reason. The one league doesn't have or doesn't allow electric. Starters is because it allows you to throw in a A massive cam in the engine and also removed that russian release and so it's just one of those limitations to keep the costs down and to keep the the competitive factor somebody go so I guess all those changes would be easy to hide because they're on the inside. Yeah because it's on it's on the inside. I mean there's there are somewhat easy ways you to measure the the amount of lift that you're getting with the cam but you still have to take things apart but such a well. I'm glad you didn't damage it more. me to uh so worried. Yeah bet nicole ward even working on anything zil I was going to do a big power. Carving just a big sculpture Just like an angle grinder architect tools. I got a big tree. Part big tree stump. I don't even a big hunk of would that Is cut down from a tree. And then i thought i don't think i should be holding a power tool for hours. Carbon away right now so I maybe a year and a half ago. I bought a handmade hammer. from How the name jimmy brent barrett yes yes and i was using the hammer and a way that you're not supposed to use the hammer and i broke the handle and so for a year. You holding the wrong side i was. I don't remember what i was hitting. But i was hitting something. Non would rick and related and none video related trying to break something apart. And i broke the handle and so an it split almost the length of the handle and so for year. I've just had gorilla tape on the handle and it's been working. It's been holding it together. And of which is totally fine. For smacking in brad nails or whatever amusement for and i thought okay this will be an easy project where it doesn't take a lot of lifting and i'll just make a new hand of course so we started. We started that and yeah and then Started up plans. I'm trying to organize my office a little bit more. Some do in this big. It's cabinets that's going to hold various since and affects puddles. And i bought this patch bay and so everything will have. I don't play out anymore and play live so everything was just going to have a permanent home within this office. Right here so it's gonna have a drawer and some slide out shelves for the sense and things like that. And i think that'd be a a cool fun video. It affords me to write a song for it and show off the the equipment. Yeah that's cool awesome. We have jenny I'm fiddling here the whole time trying to get a new set of headsets turned on. I by beats headsets to three at a time. Because i'm constantly destroying them. I put on a brand new pair of beats headsets house. Making the resin thing a couple of weeks ago and i always usually have one ear. Because i'm just listening in case anybody needs me with the other ear and the other thing was hanging down like a ponytail like on the side of my head and i thought to myself. Well that's helped. I don't lean over and go into the pox bending over the thing and then bloop at miniature. It doesn't happen. And then i'm like just sitting patiently like looking at the thing deciding where need resin holding a cup of resident my my left hand. Trevor Noah Doesn't Want To Hear Your Vaccine Excuses
"Hundred thousand covert deaths a number that. Nobody wanted to see and as painful as that. Is you have to admit you have to admit it is nice to see. America's president actually take a moment just a moment to recognize the toll that corona virus has taken. I mean the only time the previous president showed any sadness was when he accidentally deleted fox news off of his. Dvr what a day for americans. What does that day. My sweet hannity has gone. The good news is that the number of new infections has plummeted in the last few weeks. But what's interesting is the number that they've plummeted to is where they were lost july. Which at the time. Everyone thought was so horrifying that the country immediately started locking down again. And this just goes to show you that your perspective can change based on where you're coming from. That's it's like. If i go to tech right now wolf i'd probably be like this is my life but if i went from being attacked by full wolves to one wolf. I'm probably be like what a relaxing way to stop the week. So look this is why it's so important to get people vaccinated as quickly as possible. And don't give me any excuses about how you're too busy or it's not convenient last weekend and nine hundred year old. Seattle woman walked six miles in the snow to keep her appointment because the roads hadn't been plowed. Which is incredible. Although if you believe people stories walking miles snow is what they do all the time. They love that shit but still if a nine year old woman can do it. You can do it too. I don't tell me but trevor. I'm not ninety years old too young to get the vaccine right now. That's also no excuse a strange story now. Showing the length to florida women were willing to go to to get the vaccine. They're caught dressing as granny's just so they can get the shot now. Here's the thing it worked for. The first time around officials say the women are thirty. Four and forty four years old so you can see one of the more abundant and long cardigan. Didn't make much of an effort to cover up a vaccinators thought. They looked funny so they were stopped before getting their shots. And that's when they found out both women had faked their birth dates. Now officials want to know how they were able to get away with getting the first shot. The women are not facing any charges but police did yell at them calling their actions selfish okay. This is outrageous. You call that dressing up as a granny. All that woman did was put on. Its own and that other. One didn't do anything to wig hunch over or even easier just download the facebook phone. I mean if you got that you're seventy five minimum. If you want to teach away to the vaccine you at least have to put in the work. No one would have booked charade. I'm pretty sure. Mrs doubtfire wouldn't have gotten the kids back if he's just showed up like hey. It's me mrs doubtfire nanny. How did they even think that they could pretend to be old women at that age. I mean personally. I blame porn. You know they start putting women in the category of twenty six. Of course we have unrealistic ideas of what granny's look like but what's crazy is they would have gotten away with it if the doctors hadn't gotten suspicious. Hey wait a minute. If you're a grandma how come you haven't tried to set me up with one of your grandkids yet.

"Would be my. Yeah that's my ex. So during its development there were a number of showings of fi musical. That people got to see Believe it was in Seattle at least the Seattle Times covered it because they asked a number of transient on binary folk to talk about their impressions of it and and they. I will link in the description where to find this but again that's through the Seattle times and all of them had very like fairly positive memories of Mrs this is doubtfire and Missouri going into see the show and Ooh the reviews are not not happy so there are some like probably my favourite was just a very simple answer of why here why now easy money any reaction. My reaction was watching these moments and thinking. Wait who was in the room when that choice was made Yup and I and now when it goes in and even from this moment when it was in Seattle again I got to double check that but in the moments that these folks are able to watch watch the current production of it. There was a chance that a lot of changes have been made even from previews when previews happen. That's the point of previews is it is supposed to be as close to done as possible. And then if there are major things that need to happen they can tweak it a little so my hope for for it is they put it up and there are some major major major things the other thing that they can do. That is an easy fix. Even though this is different from what you've mentioned which is just scrapped. The whole project and I agree with that would be throwing a trans person literally just follows him around and says no bad stop that yeah. This is garbage. Entire Horace transpeople. Yes great chorus of Trans People just saying this is bad and this is not good. Yeah yeah and I think like recasting all of the other like the other characters. The sort of satellite characters in the movie as as transpeople people would be great. If at that bar. The person who likes she was down. Mrs doubtfire offer of drink is trans. I think that could actually be like no we as a community totally reject you and what you're doing with this. We will not take a drink from you. You need like Doc. Stop disrespecting we are yeah no and you know like that's the thing. Obviously you and I both work in theatre so we don't necessarily want to like you know there are real people that have put time and effort and money behind a production and there's always a chance that we could work with one of them in the future but I want to acknowledge that it's like all right. This says maybe not the best idea and I am still hopeful much like I was walking into the movie. I am hopeful that when it goes up and it does its thing that will have done the work. Yeah but I don't know if it will. I just think there's so much work to do view because it's like you have to address the trans-phobia but I think you also have to address its portrayal of women and I think you have to address the racist. Caricatures that Robin Williams does at times. And I think you have to address the way presents a homosexual couple. I just feel like once you've addressed all all of those things you have something that's no longer Mrs doubtfire which I say awesome but like then it's just like why don't you just do a play written by trans transportation like it'll be better I admittedly. I haven't googled. Who did the book the lyrics and the music for it but from what I understand it from what I've been hearing they're assumed to be suspen off? I could be wrong. I'll double check right now. Is We're talking but yeah I mean it's it's I do. Think like on the issue of work. I'd think work done and I think the I think work needs needs to be done. I think that The musical heathers is actually kind of a good example of that. Because and it's a it's a much different issue but I think when when I when I saw the movie heathers which was much much later in my life. I was struggling with these sort of blow up the school aspect of it because I grew up in the era of Columbine and then since then I've seen these school shootings happened in the news and all of that and it's just that school violence did not feel like something that could be funny to me anymore and I feel like when the musical came out it actually understood that and understood that our society has shifted in ways. Is that like a key punch line of this movie cannot be like. Oh you know we'll blow school or whatever it's it has to be something that it actually shows that were replaced. I feel like that musical actually did So I that that of of course is a different issue than a transphobic text. But I think it does sort of suggest like okay think realistically thickly about the material you have and the society. You're putting it into. Yeah so I'm looking at. Who wrote the Book Etcetera Etcetera So I don't know enough about John Farrell The British author and comedy Scriptwriter Okay and Kerry Kirkpatrick And again we always be wrong but at the same time. None of them openly. Id as transit on binary and it is a thing where unfortunately you kind of have to. If you're going to write about these things and or at the very least I don't want to commit to that I don't want to commit to you have to be in order to write about but at the same time it is all men on this team and I it had home and all white men so so I just I. Don't you have a lot more working against you in order for me to really trust. Yeah I think is what I think. That's more of what it is. Do I trust you to do the work and until I see the work I won't know but immediately I'm just like okay. Okay do we know. How do we know how to see? Did I mean I guess my question. The reason I ask that is because like these these people who are pushing MRS doubtfire. Are they just like. Oh well. You Know Tizi did super well. And I don't know if it has but like if it has oh Tutsi did superwealthy so clearly like there's just a minority of people who don't like this humor and most people do they're fine with it and so we'll just do it and make a buck off it or whatever mm-hmm well I will say The article that I saw which is admittedly from variety so you can take take utterly that but they mentioned specifically the tootsie musical based on the nineteen eighty. Two film was critically acclaimed but didn't hold up at the box office so again. That's not a Specif- against my sources variety. I don't know how well that holds up. Lack that is that is a take and honestly it did not last super long even though at one like I know that the the main character who played to see I didn't see it. I don't know the name. The the Tutsi is an actor that I really enjoyed so it is one of those things. I'm very happy that he wanted to Tony. But I'm very sad. He wanted Tony for that. Yeah I hear that so now that we now that we've effectively burned all of our bridges feeder community. And we're we've got a fiction collection coming out next week some poetry and maybe a comic so so let's say let's get to the answers. Let's get to the questions rather yeah I love it transphobic. Now you can answer this by making a noise you can put it on a one to ten and scale however you want to describe it just is Mrs Doubtfire transphobic. That come through because that was my guy I start art and my gun just means yes emphatically. Yes it's transphobic absolutely definitely on my end Eh. Excellent then we'll get nice fart sound effects. What I'm talking about this movie? Yeah Yeah it is. TRANSPHOBIC acted bones My answer is I'M GONNA give it a about an eight eight ten and say that he and More than I thought it would be more than I remembered. I Miss Remember this movie as being better than this. Who Yeah and wasn't enjoyable? I mean I pretty much already answered that but to express that how you will but I have only one fart gun to give no. It wasn't enjoyable at at all it. It's it's it was really sad. Actually I mean the roller coaster was from just like Oh. I don't like this to like this. Actually making me think of things I don't want to think about two two also feeling which you expressed which was i. I really am struggling with my love of this which I also had like. I WANNA be clear like I. I went into it with the exact same settings that you did which was just like. Oh this is the thing these fond memories of and now it is this just total monster and I am. I'm struggling with that. I the only thing I can say I can say can say with was. I'm sure this is what I connected with as a kid which was that the end note of like the family will come back together and there's many types of families and and they can all operate differently? Which is something that Robin William's character says although it doesn't seem to be something the movie actually believes it probably made me feel good growing up in a household where my parents clearly did not get along? I hear that and I do applaud it for not having the two of them get back together but at the same time I kiss movie no any anyone but them like and then he yells at her like. Oh and you let the judge do that to me. It's like yeah fucker Yeah Hell Yeah Fucker I. I would've done that too right like and if you and I wouldn't have hired because like any positive messaging that one might be able to dig out of this. This movie is poisoned by so much of it including the fact that like it is totally okay at even funny to poison the person. Your ex-wife ex-wife is dating so long as you're drunk when you do it and you know the Heimlich well enough. Yeah which also oh I know that. They stated in the beginning like Oh like she's going through the resume Oh you know the Cetera et Cetera. And of course. They're doing that as a way to to plant for later when he does do that that he knows the Heimlich and he knows all these links. CPR does he dunes a voice. Like I'm not saying voice. Actors can't honestly actors of all types like I know how to do CPR. I know how to do the Heimlich. But it's just like do I have have no problems believing that actors are actually very good at at CPR and maybe anything sort of medical. I have problems believing that this guy who were told is as a fuck up in like every other way knows that like he was like you know what I haven't paid my taxes in twenty years but I'm going to that first aid course like I I don't get it Ho okay. I think we've talked about everything we need to talk about with this movie. Thank you right so now that we've burned all of our.

"I mean I'm almost certain of it. You know it's it's the Steven Tyler of aerosmith thought thought that the lead singer of Motley crue was a woman at a Bar And then when he turned out to be the lead singer remotely crew decided to write a song about like that. Sort not great and you know like like its honestly era of heavy metal music like not aerosmith with Motley. crue is fascinating because there is that like whole sub-genre of folks that are like a manly men who wore makeup and did a bunch of other things. Were sort of like embracing femininity in a weird way. But we're also oddly misogynistic. But yeah we're not talking about that. We're talking about Steph. Papa's got a brand new bag is another one like there were a couple that I don't actually really impressed by. They literally found the era of Google. Any song that mentioned gender really at all and just figured jammed. And that's that's fine. I I was half expecting it. I don't know if it came out before the song or if it came after the song but I was just like all right Wednes- man I feel like a woman come in. I know I know there who owe the other the other big note that I wrote down was when they meet Mrs Says Doubtfire The Sun. Forget his name but Boy Child he says. Jeeze your big for lady you could play for the forty niners right. Of course. Yeah and then she had been that thing about. Oh well I did play European football okay. Okay soccer soccer right right that and he's Oh there's this one moment and it's equal parts. Brilliant is stupid is when the social worker comes home Sees Mrs Doubtfire and is essentially like and she and Mrs Doubtfire goes like. Oh yes my on. My brother Danu a new accidents. I've actually enjoying it. I like your versus more than I liked the movie. And so you know Mrs doubtfire brings her up. And and she added like as they're doing this Daniela's getting out of the MRS doubtfire attire. And just literally making as many puns and this is another moment. I don't know if This was Robin Williams. riffing as he is literally ripping off all of this like older women skin fat suit and like body. Things things like this is this is kind of like a weird. It's not like because of that because he's making all these jokes. There's so many puns. Yes so many tons like rapid fire. It's just ooh and then. He makes a Norman Bates reference Yes it's just like God fucking dammit everything. I mean the the the thing about that moment that I I did laugh at was after he gets that stuff off off and she wants tea or something because it's and so but she wants like Mrs Doubtfire to make your teeth so so he tries to get it all back on but then the mask pulls out the window and his run over by a garbage truck so his solution to this is to go to the kitchen without her seeing him do that and then stick his face into a cream pie and then like pop up and yes. We all remember that from the previews and and that's the solution. And I was like well. I don't like the messaging of this movie but as somebody who has been in tight spots before I've never depths my face into cream pie but I could certainly see me doing something equally as stupid. That was going to be my follow up question. Have I ever tastier cream pie. Yes have you ever. You mentioned being in these type of suggestions suggestion so okay I need like you know. I don't now desperately trying to see your children after your wife withheld them. After the divorce you had to create an older woman persona in order to do like you forget an assignment in school. So you see I thought you were GonNa GonNa say so you invent a female older than you. Then since you're gay brothers to create a fat suit for you so that you can further deceive of your teacher yes okay. No very clear about this. Never do that ever do that. The dipping of the face into the cream pie. Maybe any one thing doing it for two reasons not good. Who trying to think if there's anything else that needed to say from this? Oh fuck the reveal when the sun when the sun walks honestly that's what that's literally the last note I made because that's the moment I stopped taking notes So when it was happening as it was about to happen and I was like oh I do remember this. I did too and it was just like Ooh all of it is super painful. I I mean and that scene feels to me like the apex of all of the movies bathroom scenes and I and they're they're certainly trying to play it for laughs and they're certainly trying to to make it seem so tense because you know what are People GonNa think and But knowing today how many quote unquote bathroom bills are on the floors of state. senates all over the the country And how how that space is police. wrongly by TRANSPHOBIC. Legislators is this makes that moment it just destroys me. Yeah so that's the point of the movie completely. We lost me and I just like I literally got out of bed and just turned on the Messenger and started playing that and look to make sure there was nothing else that I needed to see like. Okay okay remember. This is standard fare. But yeah yeah exactly. Yeah I just the the the only thing I could say about that moot about that specific part That's not Going to just make me depressed. Is the urine looks really realistic. I guess it was really yellow like usually I just have water bottle and well. I think it also says that Robin Williams really needed to drink water. Yes yes exactly I do not care what Genitalia Ali had just please remain hydrated. It's important as none of our business but it is our business that you stay hydrated. Yes exactly But but what I think is interesting. What's really important about what you're saying and how to is? Is there moments in this movie like that. Where if you are anyone under the gigantic transgender umbrella of any see those moments like they are genuinely heartbreaking? Like the just on a level that I think is really hard to explain to. Maybe somebody who hasn't been there. It's it's that it's another moment where they're at the pool with Pierce Brosnan and Mrs doubtfire sitting at the bar and of course because it's Robin Williams under there He can't resist looking at the pretty girl who comes to the the bar. And of course through the MRS doubtfire makeup stares at her and when she orders neutering Robin Williams Liam's in a masculine his his masculine voice says I'll get it meaning. I'll get her drinking the way she looks at just such disgusting Asti Tocchet. That's just oh my God not to mention he is hitting on women get dressed as a older British woman but he's is hitting on women while actively trying to stop his ex wife from getting into any kind of a relationship with Pierce Brosnan incredibly true very good point and it's just like fuck you yes like I get that like and this is part of and it's tough because you don't actually see you don't see them actively hate one another but at the same time you don't really Kinda see why they clicked as characters who would have been in a relationship and because of that like her wanting to move on is healthy and him doing all of this so unfathomably unhealthy including but not limited to him trying to sabotage other relationship. which there's a certain base feeling feeling? I think that the producers writers were trying to go for that. It's like Oh you know if it was your ex regardless of how you feel you're going to know that you feel like you don't want to see anybody else it's just like like Oh man. Yeah and I know that I keep using that word. I don't mean to use that word for H.. One of my go-to like oof like who. It's very pro stocking in that sense like it sperry pro. Do whatever you can do because it's it all is in service of his masculinity like and I think it this movie thinks of masculinity is a very specific thing. It's being a father of of a family that has heterosexual Six gender But so whatever you do to serve that is fine At its it's just obsessive and I just I just want to be like okay. Who hurt whoever made this once upon a time and made you feel this way like it's it's really bad Do you think that because the author of this book is British and I don't know like is it fair to say that transgender center rights and recognition socially in in the. UK is that are they. Are they more regressive than here or there I mean so a there is a huge tradition of Men Andress being a source of comedy comedy. And there's like I think that there is a lot more nuanced especially in a British sense to that but at the same time it is still still absolutely a joke but that said also right. Now there's a podcast that I listen to called. What the Trans and they are primarily based in in Britain and so they talk with a lot of other transport and intersex folk and non binary folk About sort of the the state of Basically transparency in the UK and. Yeah there's there's a lot more virulent transphobia and like a lot more willingness to accept turf logic in a lot of their Like a lot of their government and a lot of the things that I've been hearing so it definitely is a thing at the same time I'm not from that culture. I'm just listening to a lot of other folks that are covering it. Yeah yeah I I think. That's that's why I mentioned. Just because in some of the non binary groups that I'm on facebook I see people who are from the UK commenting on on others pursue like are in the US getting their driver's license to say you know the gender is X.. And people in the UK saying Oh you know. I wish I could do that. Like I wish Sean you know. We had those kinds of legislative Shifts that would allow me to do something like that and and so it makes me think like okay. Will you know as a as a whole where is the kind of cultural moment there. But now I can't even really remember why I brought that up except to say it's like I'm I'm thinking about just sort of where this where this text ultimately came from and and of course that is also not to say like. Oh you know where we're just so so great in so progressive in our own country. That's not that's not true. I mean it's just I wonder what the struggle like. I think the the issues are different but the issues are still being had and it's just a matter of like what flavor of discrimination are. We feeling as far as anti translate. Yeah Yeah and honestly all the flavors are bad terrible they are they are all like the seed in which Pierce Brosnan is choking on the shrimp and Trans Phobia is the shrimp. That is choking all of us. I brought a dry. This is we are talking about adaptations as well. I know I mentioned that. This part of the reason that we're doing this now is because Mrs Doubtfire is going to open. I believe for previews in March on Broadway. Yes and it was gone. I was GONNA say as as I was watching the movie and thinking about that production. I figured out exactly how to fix that musical like it occurred to me like what like what the musical do in order to in order to to be a good Mrs doubtfire musical what you need to do Is You need to take the script as it is and you need to not do that script at all and just do something else.

"So okay the one thing I 'cause 'cause you're you mentioned before the yeah. I break the the sort of going into going deeper into the film and also talking about some of the other stuff ronald like this. This proposed musical. I the one thing that struck me that I did not know l. from just the opening credits of the film is this was a book before it wasn't movie I didn't even look into that. Okay I have the wikipedia page up and apparently the book was called Madame Doubtfire Known as alias Madame doubtfire it's written by an fine whose English And the plot of it seems to be basically the same. It was written in nineteen eighty-seven It received the Guardian Children's fiction prize and the Whitbread Children's Book Award which I don't know anything about either of those the basic plot of it seems to be the same Yeah the writer is an fine. I don't don't know much about what she's done. SORTA HA so. Yeah I mean I guess the one takeaway from that. That's is kind of interesting is that it was a kids book and We can probably talk about the Deep flaws in kind and that by by that you mean the the idea of a story like this being pretty much intended for children like being like Let's teach kids from a young age. That if a guy is dressing in a address than we it's it's for humor and we should make fun of him and It's gotta be for nefarious means. Yeah I mean in that that also dates back on the way I just shared something earlier talking about like like There was something going around. That had billy porter little acts billy Bush. A couple of other folks that are just in these amazing outfits. It's for the grammy's and it says like why does it look like every grammy winner and every grammy tend to eat. Looks like they're going to be like the next Batman Villain and someone responded with. Well it's because we grew up on media showing that all evil people are queer coded L.. And you know so. It is one of those things where there's a lot of bias and even during this period There there was a lot of bias in in that way. where it's like if we're going to show this we've gotTA show This character doesn't want to be an address we got to show that this character doesn't belong address etcetera etcetera. I don't know if I actually I think I moved into a completely different topic. But well worth exploring because I mean certainly certainly transphobia In in villains in comics while not not them being necessarily outrightly transplant. But like that that sort of trope of the the feminization or or Trans Ization of villains in in comics and how detrimental that is To Actual Trans People That's a that is a topic like that is worth exploring on its head. I mean that goes back to the joker I mean certainly even before that Ah but Joaquin El haven't seen that movie but like even going back to the jokers first. I appearance in comics. Like his whole thing is like. He's not a muscular villain like he does do feminine things like the Villain in. I mean this is a whole thing. But like the villain in The Maltese Falcon as yeah. Nice to meet with this is because for all media and just like just to put it out there and I I think we talked about it during our psycho episode. Pretty much all media. If you'RE GONNA show a queer coated person you can't show them in a relationship in this for for a very long time in most media You could you couldn't show them in a relationship and you could only show them as a villain so that this was a thing that it was specifically look dat by people as oh this is a a mark villainy squareness this femininity and men Right so the humor of Mrs Doubtfire then comes from Robin Williams being like no but I'm not a villain. I'm not doing something bad. Even though you're you're sort of coded voted to believe I even though he is absolutely the bad guy in every situation. Yeah exactly exactly I feel for him but he is absolutely wrong. Every in this movie totally is I want him to fail. Take away his fucking kids. I'm sorry yeah I'm sorry exactly he. It was obvious that like he was terrible from before the whole divorce. It's like when you so when your kid has a birthday. which is the opening sort of thing of the film and you decide like instead of just getting a cake in the presence and you'd like literally are just going to without consulting your wife bring home like what what she rightly calls the zoo bunch of animals and and like really messes up the place? That's a problem like jit problems. She's right to be upset about that. And so and I just that whole moment. Because that's the moment in the film that ultimately Spurs on her saying I want a divorce which also strikes me as a little unbelievable in the sense that like? It's probably not just that one moment. I would imagine if this is indicative of his behavior. There's been a bunch of these things and this is probably the latest thing and so it's it's probably not just because the birthday party went this way but because he's been this class a fuck up and and she like she never states anything specific and I think that's because if we as an audience here a laundry list of all the bad things that he's done I think that even then like a a lot of people will give a man the benefit of the doubt so even if we did hear that it would be fine but I think a lot of other people in the audience. It'd be like maybe maybe this is is indicative of other behavior but we it's again this movie doesn't this movie does a very good job of almost like I don't want to go as far as to say gas lights issue but it tells you certain information so that you feel a certain way. But they don't feel completely that way and so when they do take a u-turn they do make the character a completely different of like pretty much almost out of nowhere character shift. It doesn't feel completely aww character. It's just sort of like okay and I actually would go as far as to say. There's a gas leading going on specifically in the scene where Robin Williams before four. He invents the disguise method of doing this has his kids over to the apartment that he's rented and it's it it looks Kinda not great and they're all sitting around the table like eating dinner and mom has showed up what he says an hour early and the kids kids. They're they're starting to get up and like the way in which he kind of yells at them in. That moment is really uncertain unsettling for me but the movie kind of doesn't really want us to remember that I mean what he says. You're my kids to God damn it and I'm just oh okay but then like only only minutes later when the mom comes in it's sort of played for a little bit of a joke and then we get to see how excited these kids are At spending more time with dad as if that moment just wasn't as emotionally violent as it was and I get the content that he's just very passionate he's very upset. This is a thing that's like things are happening is reaching a boiling point. The and honestly I forgot how I don't say how well but how I'll say how. Well how well. It does pepper in a a lot of dramatic moments in the beginning as much as there is absurd humor in its sees. He's hiring the entire Barnyard to come out and they're like it's ridiculous weird homer Simpson moments. There's also a lot of these moments of just real sadness and real like you really do feel for both parents appearance in a lot of different ways and it is interesting. It's just then. He specifically tricks his ex wife into hiring him rest. They're fucking Marigny. which I also like that I mean by like I am further? They're traumatized by the that he feels. This must mean he needs to gender flipper genders. Because it's like well. There can't be a male nanny lakes thanks got to invent a woman do it only one at like twelve. Yeah exactly and I'm sorry that I'm kind of like jumping on. There is a like I went into this. I really want people listening to understand. I went into this wanting to love of this movie. All over again wanting to come out the other side and say you know what it wasn't that bad y'all it could have been a lot worse and it's just then I think the second phone call he makes he's he's basically like amping her up to think that there is no good choices so that when he comes up with the good choice she picks six that choice but at one point he says hold on. I wrote it down so I'm GonNa go find it Data is very humorous. Ask No of. We've moved beyond their. I'm so close. Oh here we go there. He's a you're telling me about the children all you have ooh I'm sorry. I don't work with the males because they used to be one right and then the sound of disgust from the life as well no. It's just that that was the first moment I think in this movement is movie where my heart truly like shattered because it had been breaking as I've been watching this but then when it came to that it became really really clear that this movie is setting up a boundary and it saying on this side of the boundary is fun gender. Play on the other side of that is actual Trans people who are disgusting in the movie and I hate that And I do know many trans people in the in various forms of Caring of youth like whether they be nannies unease or whether they be teachers whether they be and it's just man I did not like I didn't sign up for this I it did. I signed up for it to really WANNA hit life. Watch the curse of the Queer Wolf I I know I should have just watched a bunch of Shiro originally going to do you could add sheer Alexandros. It's my biggest regret so yeah like so. There's there are a lot of moments of that and then the other thing the other big thing thing I want to talk about is the use of music. Yes yes please. Let's talk about that. There is no subtlety in this soundtrack. nope breath like the ones that I wrote down and there's some that I didn't even write down because I just I mentioned this to you earlier off off Mike I just. At a certain point I stopped taking taking notes and just played a video game while it was on. I was just like all right very smart. I would say if you WanNa Really Watch Mrs Doubtfire. Just play the Messenger. It's a great game anything to do nothing to do with Mrs Doubtfire. But it's just like no I just want people to play Messenger uh-huh but yeah so luck. BE A lady. Tonight is one that I wrote down dude. Looks like a lady so that one is the one that that like real like I was just like. Oh you're really going okay It actually looked up the origins of that Song After which is also pretty horrific..

"Idea that this man is tricking this woman into hiring him to watch their kids because she didn't want him around at all in her life right right right exactly and what's interesting about Miranda. Her name is and I didn't think I decided I would google it while while you're talking so I have all the names. Now it's fairly Robin Williams. Is Daniel Hillard which I mean. These are things that I totally forgotten and I watched this last night. So Miranda at the beginning of the movie is Were meant to think that she's doing very while in her job. It's corporate job. She's doing very well at it. She dresses actually in ways. That are traditionally construed as masculine. She has kind of the Blazer and the colored shirt and the slacks by the end of the film she's much more back in her traditionally feminine A tire in a traditionally feminine Ro Role It seems like now I've given up on the job thing I realize what's really important and it's let me fill all in this. Let me let me go back to this role that I was meant for because now I understand I was meant for so for her. Like the. If we want to even call it like sub-conscious Senator Senator now gender player whatever That's that's bad. Because that took her away for motherhood but for Robin Williams conscious gender play is just necessary because the world is so hard on him as a shitty father that he has to go to this extent to just be like like goofy and adorable and get his kids back. 'cause I took note of it. There was actually a joke that I thought was actually very transgressive. That was just a throwaway joke that nobody myself included remembered where. She's drinking a Cappuccino when she's waiting for Pierce Brosnan The first time we see Pierce Brosnan and she's got a little milk mustache. Yeah just you talking about her in this like what we look at as masculine attire for business. It's just like Oh yeah. They really like as much as they played up. Oh it's a manageress. They also did play a lot of these like roles for her in a more more subtle way and. I don't think that that was completely intentional. I don't know that they actually. I don't want to give the movie that much credit to say like. Oh you were like Oh. She's got a mustache now But which honestly if they did and they leaned into and she just kept drinking things and getting a moustache. I I think I would have been into. Yeah I mean because at the end of the day like she's kind of who I'm rooting for like I'm not really reading for for Dillard Dillard Hillard Hillard department store. I'm always rooting for DILLARD's be too. Yeah it's hard out there for malls anyway. Yeah it's it's true. I I feel feel like I guess I don't. I'm struggling with with sort of the ultimate message behind that because it seemed like there were moments elements where this this movie very much wants to show that like the natural course of events. If you do it right we'll take you into your traditional gender role because Mrs Doubtfire. It is very clear. This whole movie depends on US knowing thing that is not where Daniel Hillard is supposed to be Except although at the end I mean he does find success on the TV show as her but which is kind of an interesting wrench in that But but like even when referring to the to Hellers brother played by heavy fire scene. And which let me say Yeah Harvey Firestone Pristine is the right choice but an interesting choice as well. Because it's like you know if you know Harvey firestone if you know New York theater you know. Absolutely like he's a gay icon he's a queer icon so it's a guest okay. Absolutely he is but at the same time like he gives off an energy. That is very not what you expect from. A stereotypical typical game man. And so they pair him up with a very like FEM partner who they refer to as Aunt Jack Right. It's right. Please things that for him which struck me as interesting because at one in one way it's gender play but in another way sexuality why is it keeps it like homeless or heterosexual which is strange. Because of course it's not because it's not heterosexual not right. Yeah because Heterosexual I don't mean this was I'm not going to. I am never ever ever again going to make the distinction action of like the the the Defense of Oh overtime but at the same time like yeah. That was a thing that movies were saying in the nineties. Was this idea of like. Oh they're just like straight couples. Yes yeah exactly. I felt exactly the same way about that. I mean it's it's as if an yeah. Mrs Doubtfire is not the only text to do this of the nineties to sort of say to people you see like gay people. Are there totally safe. But are they safe. But they're they're also not people who are GONNA take center stage. Don't worry like the the star is still still like very hetero even when doing you know something that one might perceive as queer that that starts still in. It is in pursuit of heterosexuality. Don't worry about that. which is makes me very uncomfortable? This haning I we'll say Harvey Fierstein had and it was more just him and his reaction got one of the only real big laughs out of me. This rewatch which which is when Jack comes to them and says I need you to make me a woman and they just imp race hat. Actually I kind of love that my favorite line was in that moment. Where where Robin Williams is going through that like a horrendous This this like impressions doing and at the he asked for Joan Collins and he's just like I don't think I have the energy that that makes sense so yeah like that we're moments like that. I do wonder for some of that stuff. How much of it was Improv? I don't I don't know but I feel like especially like that moment like there are a couple that I think that they just said like. Hey we're gonNA either dress you up a certain way and then we're going to let you go or Like that one in the moment when he's at The was it the Bank of the the the the job. Place the place to get a job Bob and like the social worker And he's just riffing and specifically the way it's cut the way it moves like there's there's a certain energy you can tell. The director will allow actors to just riff and Christopher Super Columbus is directed these kinds of movies before like he directly kinds of movies after. Sort of these like mass-market comedies. And I think he's probably accustomed to be like. Oh Yeah Robin Williams. Yeah just let's do. Sixty takes doing random impressions will use ten of them. Get like two or three good takes of the stuff that's written and then you just do your thing. Yeah Yeah Yeah exactly. which in those impressions like we should also talk about? How like some of them are rather racist? I would say they like well. No no no no really doesn't like just that moment where I think think I the first costume frank has brother and Jack put him in. Oh I guess she's Latina Tina. Yeah I don't know if that's supposed to be making fun of a specific person but Ooh met is not a person Robin Williams should be no not at all not at all. ooh So I mean I guess like if there is if there is is like silver lining and I mean the word silver lining in the most gallows humor of ways it is. This movie also gets to be sexist existed racist so it's really kind of everything and homophobic and it's wise even though he does portray gay couple. This is true. Yeah I mean it man this this move so I tell you what we're reaching the point where it's a good idea to take an ad break so we're GonNa take a quick break and then when we come back we'll talk a little bit more about we'll we'll go a little bit deeper into the movie as well talk about some other moments that we enjoy but we're also GONNA talk about the potential worries that we might have about the Broadway show coming.

"Hello my name is Ashley. Lauren Rogers I am the Creator and producer served transphobic podcast. I use she her and they then pronouns and today I'm being joined by me Jonathan Election Dramas. I am here I I use the pronouns and I'm slightly traumatized because MRS doubtfire. Yeah this is This is a whole show. This is a whole movie so I'm curious did you watch Mrs Doubtfire when when you were growing up like. Is this a thing that you saw in the theaters or like VHS. So that's the scary thing. I watched it as a kid. Many many many many many times. I loved this movie as as a child and I have no idea why I mean. Well I actually have. We given that some thought so we can talk about that as we move on but I rented it from Gemstone video in Knoxville Tennessee on VHS. I watched it on television. Whatever it was on television and I Yeah I remember seeing it multiple times Not In the theaters. But it's because I was ten when it came out but Later on but only shortly later on watching it watched a quite a bit. Yeah Yeah I honestly. I'm not sure if I saw it in the theaters but I definitely watched a lot. Growing up I thought it was the funniest thing. I loved it. I loved all of the characters and so yeah it was very weird now having to sit down and say to myself. Do I actually like because this really glad to hear you say that you also liked it it makes me feel like I was just watching this thing and I was feeling just so bad bad I just how could I have not seen this but I guess you know we were. We were young and we missed a few things. Yeah well we'll and it's an interesting thing now because now I was watching it and I kind of was bored. Yeah like it wasn't even that it was like offensive or I was angry. I mean you know I guess it is a lot of ways offensive but at the same time. It's just like Manna comedy. Just wasn't there. Literally the comedy is his man and address yes and and I did not. I did not find myself laughing and I really do absolutely remember birther like finding it hysterical. Once upon a time but yeah. You're you're absolutely right like that was the whole gig as we dive into this movie. I had sort of a question question just sort of starting off which is when we refer to Mrs Doubtfire the character. What pronouns should we us? I think because Mrs Doubtfire is a character that is being portrayed by Robin William's character man. Yeah it's it's character and character. I think it's okay to refer to the character using she her but right alternately again like she is a character And it's like Oh man I think admittedly like I. I am okay with however we want to refer to to Mrs Doubtfire as a character Do you have strong feelings one way or another you know. It's it's weird because because I feel like as I was talking about her I actually found myself using he him pronouns just because I was is like no this is not like a this is not someone's actual identity. This is a man who is absolutely Louis just in a in a costume and lake. But I also like I'm open to like she her or feels natural as well like for for Mrs Doubtfire so I'm not sure well and and I think I think so much of it is that yeah. Let's let's stated stated very clearly. This is not a a movie about someone who is learning to love themselves as a trans person. This is a literal man in address. Who is deceiving his wife or his ex wife to make sure that he has time with his children is literally everything that is just fucking boring about? Yeah like I feel like Ricky base watch this and was like that's my stance on trans stuff and I'm like no. That's that's not okay. I feel like lots of Transphobia is sort of based around this this exact idea. It's like everybody just watch MRS doubtfire and go. Oh yeah that's how translates works. Because it's not at all how it works. I mean it's it's so so far it's insulting. It's this idea that it's all people who are just trying to infiltrate be sneaky to to like serve. Serves some other goal that has nothing to do with personal identity. That's awful yeah well let me let me ask this. Let's kind of shifted a little bit so we know like I think. I'm uncomfortable kind of referring to Mrs doubtfire because Mrs Doubtfire is a character becomes a character that Robin Williams's character. What's his name? We don't even know he can. Billy Batson billy like what's but creates and then kind of stumbles his way into create a children's show with that character so the character lives on right but it is a thing that like so I I I'm fine with whatever Pronoun we WANNA use for doubtfire That said is there a world where a man in address this idea like first off. Let's define that. What is the man an address trump? Like what is that. I think it's like a question I mean I think that it's it's certainly something that was quote unquote funny or used for humor. Prior to Mrs Doubtfire like Mrs Doubtfire. It did not invent that. I mean you know the reason we're supposed to laugh at corporal. Klinger is because it's an address In so oh because it's also not drag either like especially not in this context. I think like drag. It's not like one it's dragged people are in on the fact that it's dragged like this is specifically to achieve An and that depends on certain parties. Not Finding out that this is a man address. So what is the man address. I mean I think whenever it started and I don't know what it what it started with it goes back to ancient Greeks playing with gender under I don't know but initially I'm sure it's something were meant to sort of laugh at and then Mrs doubtfire take that and it's like okay. We can still laugh at it but there's a really like quote unquote wholesome idea behind it. Which is just a dad who wants his kids kids back and that makes it more awful? Yeah actually I think so much of this. The man in address as a trope as a thing that people go to both like specifically for comedy is reliant on the fact that the man doesn't want to be an address And that he's doing it for a reason as opposed to just wanting to wear a dress like I I want to affirm men want two addresses. Yes please do Shirt create more media. where straight servicemen? Just wear dresses Graham Star Trek. The next generation did that for a little while and they've got that Unisex like all of their clothing is Unisex Yeah But it is a thing where and this has been like. It's almost ageless. This idea of deriving comedy from The idea that that is a man that is a man wearing address and that therefore his funny and yeah. I'm here for comedy that is inclusive of men who want to wear dresses and I am very against the idea that Like we should in some way they say like Oh man wearing addresses just bad because it's like no that's how a lot of like that's how a lot of early transport like myself included kind of experimented and figured it out like okay. Oh okay like yeah this this is actually kinda great. I like this. This is me and then you learned from there and then you figure things out so I more than anything else I wanted. Go on this tangent to make sure that we're sort of stating just because a man is wearing address does not mean it's funny does not mean that it's bad is that they are less than in any way shape you perform and I think that's where a lot of that man and address humor comes from. Yeah you're super super super right and as we're talking about it I mean I'll just say that that as a child like trying on my mom's dresses was really important for me to do and for me. It was about like feeling willingly clothing. And and feeling the feeling of you know this this object that I wasn't supposed to really identify with but yet I I did I mean that that was really really important to my development so so absolutely one hundred percent with you there I I think that when we talk about the man and address gag as opposed to men and dresses which can have a variety of Significance of but the man address gag being a joke. I think actually has more to do. I mean it certainly transphobic phobic but it has to do with also just viewing women and feminine things as less than because I feel like in addition into being transphobic Mrs Doubtfire. The movie is heavily. Sexist I mean. We don't even get to the dress part until a ways in that actually surprised me how long it took us to get to that dress because up until then every woman we meet is like frigid or like not not fun or just somehow neglectful of family and love and you know the only the only woman in who are a little bit outside of that are the two female kids but even the older of the two is having moments where she starting to like a little calder. And like it's it's really this. This movie has a huge. Like woman respects the problem. I think I think just the idea of character in general in this movie. It almost feels like they didn't know what they wanted from. The characters characters who the characters were and in some ways like it actually in some ways it kind of worked. Because I didn't ever fully hate the mother. Mother hates Pierce Brosnan. Even like there's a lot of things that like by the end it's like yeah these two characters spoilers for Mrs Doubtfire Robin Williams. His ex wife shouldn't get back together right at all at all. She's right says is right. Yeah he's been terrible and the only thing Mrs doubtfire proves when he puts outfit is that he knew all along what can do in order to keep this family together like as soon as you put the Mrs doubtfire things like. Oh I guess I should cook healthy food and like you could have done that before for you could have easily opened up a cookbook buddy. Yes because it did it and okay and so she'll must switches immediately the second that they are divorced and she's there to pick up the kids and yes she drop them off in our late and she's there an hour early and she's having a hard time because you know she's still like the two of them. Were both getting to understand this whole like all right. Well we gotta do a bunch of other like th I it. It up ended both of their lives and a lot of ways put she is just this unrepentant. Just like A- are they. Why aren't they ready at? Come on come on. Oh this place looks nice. It's just like fuck you I get it I get it like. I've never gone through a divorce. I don't know what it's it's like. I don't know how the relationships like I. It's not a thing I have felt myself but at the same time it's just like wow the the producers really wanted us to immediately radiantly like understand at first and then hate her and then kind of like ultimately we had to get on board with the.

Woman feels no pain due to rare gene mutation, researchers say
"Has an incredible story of a woman that feels absolutely no pain. I saw this headline. I just I and I saw it on the CBS evening news. What's the what's the deleo? She seventy one years old her name is Joe Cameron. And she has a rare genetic mutation that keeps her from feeling pain or anxiety. Oh, wow. The first time she notice it was when she gave birth. Everybody told her it was gonna be really painful, the hours were on nothing. Bothered her even without an EPA d'oro. She could feel that her body was changing. But it didn't hurt her. It's he likened it to a tickle. So she would tell other mothers that were getting better. Was like a tickle tickle? She knew that things were changing. But she literally doesn't feel the pain. She said, don't worry. It's not as bad as people say it is. So that's what she's telling other mothers who hadn't had. Oh my gosh. Then four decades later now people now know that she has this mutation something else that happened is that she actually like ranch ran off the road and crashed her car didn't feel any pain or anxiety. That's the thing that I want. She she crashed her car and felt nothing. Yes. She didn't feel anything. She hasn't been able to experience pain her whole life. And this is a little bit dangerous because the only way one time she burned her hand. Self. I was just that was the example. I was I was going to say this is all finding good. But in a situation like I dunno like missing remember when MRs Doubtfire burned or fake boobs. What if you can't feel I was just gonna say the burn thing? To know what not to do. She she knew she was being burned as she smelled her flesh. Oh boy. So she also reports that eating chill those super hot ghost peppers left. Only a pleasant glow in her mouth. Oh my gosh. She also. You have anything going on? Thank you feed. I mean, what's her thing? Oh you. What the hell the stinky feet? No pain trying to give her another. Flex was. Should we really add something else, you're like, really, stinky, arm pants or woman enough to bear? Some ways to live without pain. We do need paying for to recognize the good know the nonpaying moments. But there is something about that. Like, a science wise. How does that work is it? I mean, it must be just the chemistry mutation or the. They're studying her and trying to develop. Something maybe that we could all once in the future not feel pain, especially from this woman taking her jeans figuring out what the mutation is. She even she cannot recall ever feeling depressed or scared. She's very happy in. That's she's never anxious. She's never had any like she scores zero on ever feeling depressed scared or anxious. So she went from being a primary school teacher to working with people with severe mental disabilities because she doesn't get anxious and can calm them down. I I guess I guess there would be some advantages, but is sucky as those feelings are part of the human experience. You know emotionally is her life. What kind of conversations does she have? That's only about the weather. Here's one of her flaws. She's forgetful. She's prone to losing your keys, and she's never felt that adrenaline rush. That people talk about whenever she can't find
