"But you know that they're necessary. Because otherwise, why would they be taking the time to do this flashback to tell you about this thing? So in some ways, it's like tr- it's much much true. Or to the comics, then the Gilmore doto, Ron Perlman adaptation. But I think that in some really really unfilled friendly ways, I totally agree. And I think that again like we're talking about with y the last man or saga. Some of these are much easier to adapt. Some of them are really difficult. So this one the creature design was much more similar to the comic book because as much as del Toro, like his creature designers on a whole different level in general. And so the stuff that he made for that will stand the test of time, the creatures we see in this are terrifying. And they are grotesque, and they just they have this kind of raw nature to them that fits very much with the tone of the original comic book. But man, some of this just did not work. I feel like this is just I mean, you mentioned the comics in the storytelling. This was such a step backwards in comic book movie filmmaking. I feel like if this had come out after blade two it would fit right into the tone. Yeah. If this had come out around like that first X men trilogy people, it'd be like this is good. You gotta watch this, absolutely. Like twenty years ago. This movie would make all of the money, and it would be such a unique different tail..

"He's got his blunt house setup. He's got his branding. And someone's like, so do you think he's like spent all his capital again? Do you think he's bombed it again? I'm like, no, I will make another straightforward thriller. I think he'll make another fun January thriller and people back on board. And I think he's going to like this is him back in his old like m night cups because this is his chance to do it. But I think he wants to just be like, here's a high premise thrower. Ride strap in night Shamlan, and he said in this interview, I don't make any more sequels because I want my pomace the audience to be I'm gonna original thriller. I want you lock in. I want to give you a scary time. Give me a scary time night. You're going to scare me. I was scared her in this movie. I was tense. I was too scared. He was gonna fuck it up that too. I also like that shot of David breaking down the door. I think that's great hero moments that stuff I wish that m night would do. Immune. But this is also territory this bad for him. I just feel like I liked the idea of doing something like futuristic or science fiction. Well, after I know, but that's and that's right. Yeah. And so I don't know. I just I think he's such a good storyteller. I didn't love this movie. But I like the idea of it. And I think he's a great filmmakers. I agree with you. I would love to see him do like a ten million dollar space thriller like something that was closer to like moon. Moon. Right. Big Sifi mood. But I feel like a spaceship is a good setting for an NFL. After barely counts as a fucking spaceship movie. And I'm always in favor of the spaceship, and it only Shamlan movie it's him trying to serve another master. It's very much his film. But it's not. Sucks triple. Yeah. You'd like the kid who became you're gonna watch that. Right. The Joe corners the yes, great. Yeah. I'm so excited. So good and the movie's gonna lose so much money. Right. And I just feel like it feels so out of time like I've ever seen that you and I both the trailer. And we were like this has to be based on some book or something, and it's not. So there's no built in audience for it. I think Britain, it'll probably do pretty well. I guess it probably didn't cost too much. But it's weird to see like FOX financing that and Joe Cornish. Like one of the best films of the last ten years and has turned on a lot of big jobs on a lot of shortlists and either didn't make the cut or turned it down. Or like was briefly the front honor for Star Trek three before I think or see push them out before then we're got pushed out, and then it became the Justin Lin also have movie movie, right? I it is an interesting choice for him to be like, I'm getting down making a pure kids movie. Cornish doto, not not a movie that only kids can enjoy you'll like this. You're going to. I hope you, and I thought it was really good has Stewart in it. Patrick. Yeah. Small role. Really good. I'm gonna get on this letterbox. Yeah. Yeah. You should be. Someone asked recently why was on letterbox. And can I get my answer very quickly? Yeah. Because people track every single thing David watches, right? And then they make a post on Reddit saying, oh now, we know what's coming up next..

Your tester was in seven different counties. One of which was Lubbock county in that just a sliver. But the thing is is when you talk to the when you talk to the party faithful and party faithful are always the people who are going to be all the hold on. Let me just because what we're talking about his drew Landry right now. Okay. The tests candidate, right and everybody knows that that district is takes tech terrorists in it. Takes six rural counties to devastate. Right tech terraces in everybody knows anything about Lubbock. He might be listening. Suddenly tech terrorists. A lot of tech administration. A lot of tech professors much more nuanced area in just two. It's like a peace symbol. It comes down nineteenth university to Indiana intakes out like a peace symbol out on the south loop. And then takes in three counties to the west three counties to the east, right, but okay that for context go ahead to me if I'm. Lubbock county democrat. I'm not looking at sixty percent versus seventy seven because those districts are weighted in in a fashion that don't lead to the sumptious that might be being made. Well, I think that some people in Lubbock might look at this and say well are Bernie Sanders. Style candidates did so much better that where the party needs to go. I would argue that. Instead, we need to be looking at Beddoe and look at how Beto did statewide, and we need to be saying that here within the rural metropolis of of Lubbock we need to be fashioning a candidate that can win locally more in the style of a better Rourke, then perhaps a Bernie Sanders or Octavio always want call her Octavio detail because huge Houston Astros fan and Octavio doto tell with Astro. We'll see what whatever. I o c. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, but yeah, I would like to see us move in more of a of a moderate direction. I don't think there's any secret to that. But at the same time, I do see why there are people in within my party that are more of the far end on the left. You know, a lot of people have been getting left out in this economy and. And even then it just like, I'm literally rolling my fingers through my hair is say this. Yes, you're my head saying there are classical democratic issues public education agriculture. Yeah. "Doto obey scored emptied their bench a little bit as well. But you know, what we always do on the post game show. We're gonna go through the stats. We're gonna grade players. And then we're gonna talk about maybe what this game means moving forward because this was a huge win for the Steelers who are now six two and one they flip the script. They've won five in a row. An interesting fact, I just saw this on Twitter. This is the only home game that the Steelers have in the month of November at Heinz field. They're on the road for the rest of the month. They don't come back into they see the chargers in December the first week. That's an interesting nugget. They're all right here. We go quarterbacks as always quarterbacks then rob Berger twenty two for twenty five three twenty eight an average of thirteen point one five touchdowns. No picks was sacked once with a perfect rating. I wanna say it's perfect one. In fifty eight point three. If you say anything less than a four, which if you're a first time listener to this show, we great one through four fours and one's enough. If you say anything less than a four, I'm just gonna kick you off this show. Forget Fahd's berry. Okay. Very five five to match the five touchdowns. I mean twenty to twenty five even these five touchdowns thirteen point two yard for tip. Come on, man. That's that's ridiculous. And he got to leave the game early. Yeah. They just better than that. Let's let's say for the sake of argument that the Steelers decided work, even the we're putting the foot down on the gas pedal the entire game. How many think they could have scored? Seventy housing to say seventy five for yes. I mean, seriously they they only had to punt the ball. When Rothlisberger was in the game. No, they have to put the ball at all the news the game, you only possession. They didn't score was at the end of the half where they just need the ball. It's insane. One was a bad putt to. Of course, you know, what I was looking out looking for like man, who am I gonna put on the losers list this week? I found one Jordan bury your seven yard punt just found you on the losers list again, but berry art. You don't come back and put her burns on there. You get one chance to prove yourself and he co divas past appearance in the end zone. Good job. All right. So we all agree to Ben Rothlisberger was out of this world. We'll give an a plus. Plus, let's go to running backs James Connor thirteen. Carey sixty five yards five yard average one touchdown with along fifteen. He left the game where they didn't play him in the second quarter lot. You could definitely tell I think that the Steelers looked at this matchup. It said coming off of a very physical ravens game short week and other physical opponent. They were going to get some of the other backs involved earlier in the game. And that's what he saw Steven Ridley, Jalen Samuels getting some stamps, but James Connor what are you great him one through four. He did leave say the game in the second half. He's being he's in concussion protocol, which that's the Thomas to the game. That means that he does have diagnosed concussion. And now he starts the process of. Does he have a headache the headache subside, although symptoms daintily Steelers have a little bit of an extended break here? But how do you great James Connor for? He did very well what he was asked to do. So anytime, you average five points know, five point zero yards per carry in limited touches scored a touchdown. He was a fish, and he did with the, and I'm sure they're gonna pop that boy toward all excedrin. And after this woman, I'm sure he'll be okay. Yeah. Your listeners you're going to hear a lot of fours tonight. It's we're not being homers. Trust us were just don't like it is. And I think James Connors, absolutely affords. Well, you put it best. When he said, he did what was asked of him. And he only had only had to run a thirteen times that the biggest signal the biggest talking point from the Steelers rushing attack isn't Steven Rayle Lear, Jalen Samuels or James Connor. It was Ben Rothlisberger scramble his slide..

Oh, you have the layers of layers of poppies where people will be checked on their Heidi any not it far from free flow of people that's going to hinder that's going to be big barrier to make integrated area where you know, the strength of the different cities can compromise. Each other. I don't know how to solve this problem. But I hope that it policymakers will see. Do everything possible to simplify the process to make five the, you know, their best to make the fro pre people a possible. And so Lima actually talking about this big sit his around this area, the Shenzhen, then why is this city fool of economic dynamism innovation and entrepreneurship, and what do you think is a role of Jeanjean in this great obey area? How could you be a cooperating with Hong Kong? I think that I've looked on into Shenzhen for the past three decades myself say I've actually seen it, you know, grow from what it was into what it is today. And what what I guess it will be in the future. And so it's the one place that continually reinvents itself. And so I mean, and that's a good thing not bad thing. And I think when you look at the actual numbers in distant Winstons point as to the engineers that are available there. We might have a stadium full of engineers available in Silicon Valley in in Shenzhen with the hardware side of things. They probably have ten to twenty stadiums full of engineers stem graduates who are sharing ideas in an open based situation where they're they're actually not getting so much hung up on intellectual property, but they're having open based projects and that sort of the norm. And I think a lot of that grew out of Wong Dong in general and Guangdong is reaction to being sort of the red headed stepchild with under the, you know, the old system where there wasn't as much governmental money coming in. Like, there wasn't a north that they had to become entrepreneurial that the other thing from an outsider's point. When you go to Shenzhen, and in you are in a taxi, for example, you'll have taxi drivers that are from all over the place. Everyone is from everywhere else that the generally speaking. I mean, there there are now people that have been there thirty years, I guess, but it was it was a slower sleepy size village. That is become this Coppola's. And it's sort of the United States of of China in his much as they're you know, know, who go necessarily was needed and folks could go there and sort of reinvent themselves. I think the mean age is quite young. And there's there's a real energy. I think they're performers that Bizet for Chinese that are there, and that it's sort of can do spirit. And so I think that that ironically, you would have thought that something like Hong Kong would have been the driving force there. But I think it's really Xinjiang and the dynamism that's there with Hong Kong. It's kind of an also ran it vantage of those playing off one another is they just as Winston said they've they've used some of the laws policies and regulations some of the building coach the other types of things that are available in Hong Kong and made them part of Shenzhen now rector indirectly or just just imitating that and I think that they're they're it's going from strength the spring with with that. Same deal to use the pilots of that time, which is no longer acceptable. Smoking sister. Bun hair and just. Another level. Like forget it kid kind of thing. But I would stay over to Ralph's house, and is this was around. So that was pretty good. And I I remember it was a time when I think it was a freshman in high school a super duper nerd super nerd. Staying over his house and Rochester getting up super early in the morning in the freezing cold walk into school. I just remember waking up at his house, and the song the soundtrack to that whole thing and Kathy is sister was the guest who she's come undone. I just remember getting up. Time to get up row time to get up and it came on the radio early morning kinda still dark, but on your clothes Kathy in the other room getting ready for school. And you're going to have to walk in the freezing cold that stuck with me, man. I love that song. But guess who Canadian band Burton Cummings a singer, she's come undone? You said where does untouchable coming in this story? But she was she was hard to get. Okay. I wasn't her type. Okay. She was under the jocks. And I wasn't one. So about a year after I graduated I was managing a gas station. And I walked into the Bank where we made our deposits, and guess who's sitting there behind the cage as I pumped down twenty thousand dollars to be posited. It was sharing and was she? She portrayed up when she saw twenty thousand dollars coming out of that backpack. I don't know. But I'd never dated her. Well, that's even with twenty thousand dollars. You couldn't get get the done. Well, what my money anyway. So she probably knew who worked at a gas station. You probably knew it wasn't. She got a little twinkle in her. I probably probably knew that you wouldn't be a very good provider. Probably probably there's no chance. Okay. Thank you. Had anything else? Jim. No, it's it's raining. Getting a headache? What are you gonna do today? I have a cardiologists stress tests. I have to take three pm. God. They might get five minutes south of me. I don't know. All right. Well, good luck with that. Okay. Bradley good day. Take care, man. That's a bummer cardiologist stress test. Oh, that's I don't wanna think about that. I.

"Well, you should ask the crypto zoologist over here. What What a a cryptic. cryptic please air made up. Right. So what's that about their existence is not proven. Yeah. What? What they're calling the North American Black Panther? Yeah, there is. No. It's just a term because it just looks like what it should be. Well, it looks like a Black Panther. So the what is the Black Panther is actually the Puma that has a black color morph account in the southeast, very rarely my head, the mountain lion or whatever you wanna call it has has had historically have very wide distribution throughout North America and actually down through Central America. And in South America, but because people are afraid of mountain lions. Yeah, you should standard. They basically been extirpated throughout most of North America. Okay. Yeah, they call them ghosts of the forest and it says that we're losing right, exactly. And it says that we're like losing almost all of them to deforestation. Yeah. So the two big threats of not just our big cats around here, but all mammals, all animals, even trees. The big threats are deforestation or destroying of their habitat and competition from humans, and then you know, direct killing these animals. Got, you. Know if you're a camping and you see a mountain lion, make yourself look big, really move no spray. If you have spray great, but Gary. You you hear instances of, you know these people that are on a on mountain bikes in say, the Santa Monica mountains or down in Orange County, and what the the mount line is keying in on is this fast moving thing running away or biking away from it? So their vision is that's pray. It's running from me. That is pray. That's dear. I'm gonna chase down. So turn around. Yeah. You know, or just stop, I guess, is that I've heard said that like with a bear, you run, but with a with a cat, you make sure that it knows that you see it because they are stocking prey. Okay. And the, that's the the mode of hunting that they engage in. So stocking sneaking up. And then when they're close enough, they will pounce out. So if you make it known to that animal that you've been, you know, you see them. Okay. And you don't run away. You're not keying in that that behavior that makes them think that you are prey. So, and you know, naturally, they are afraid of humans. So by making it known that that you see that that mountain lion and making yourself bigger, making a bunch of making bunch noise scaring laser pointer. That's even better. That little Caesar. Bring some catnip with. It'd be best friends. Okay, great. You guys have any more questions for Dr. Jim, I think I asked him all mind Saint questions. Okay. Do you have pets? I do have a dog and a cat a niggle actually, quite. Yeah. Okay. Over at Jim's house. Question. Have you ever seen a dodo like the remains of one? That's one that I'm like. I'm very upset that I'll never get to see one in real life. I've never seen the remains of doto. No, sorry. But what about in your frigerator though? What about gifts you got that. Not to say. Okay. Do you drink milk. No, but I eat a lot of cheese. Okay. Same move. Yeah, we're going camping. It's hard to avoid the taste of cheese humans. Yeah, with that, they're all their Swede. There's so many kinds of cheese fatty. It helps when you're sad, it helps when you're sad, your brain stew heals your brain. She's she's the nutritionist chief. Yeah. And the crypto zoologist. With my life. She's done too busy. Learning about animals, do not exist. Kabre yetis. On. Let me know the next time you need a specialist and it's going to be me for movie. Oh, shaped water. Let me just shape of honor. So I have some psychological things to talk about. Oh, great. So we'll have you as the psychology. Yeah, that's perfect questions. No, I don't have questions I have answered. What's up. Okay. What about plugs? You guys wanted to tell everyone about what you're doing. "It was secretary Schulkin secretaries of the the easiest thing with him. Giving me the thority the. Yeah. Congressman math. I will bless off on that. If you wanna put an office in the hospital, he gave me that thority very soon after being elected, which is when I started working on after that, it took me almost ten months to go through this back and forth with the VA hospital where they're saying, okay. We need you to get a member memorandum of understanding on this. Now, we need you to get the now we need you to get. I was basically I was getting nickeled and dime every two or three weeks where they're saying. Okay. Before we give you the office. We need you to get this done. Now, we need you to get this done. And so my office is taken all of those things that the VA required us to do. So that we could open up an office there, and we've wrapped all of those things into a piece of legislation. So that if we. Pass this legislation any member of Congress Republican democrat, independent from California to New York from Michigan to Florida to all points in between any member of congress would be able to simply go in and open up their office in the VA hospital too. So that they can see their constituents, and and that's the work that that's the legislation that I have is to get all of those roadblocks out of the way. So that if a member of congress wants to do this they can and there's no hurdles for them to go over. Now the way that you help me get this done is you reach out to your member of congress, and you tell your member of congress. Listen, congressmen, Brian mass over and Florida's eighteenth congressional district has a Bill that would make it. So that you could go hold office hours in the VA and be able to help our veterans in that way. You get to see what's going on in the VA on a regular basis you'd provide a little bit of scrutiny there. And and it would be a very good thing. And if we can get four hundred thirty five. Five members of congress to cosponsor this piece of legislation then let's do that reach out to all of your other chapter commanders your your state commanders. Let them know. Hey, this is a good piece of legislation, and you all can help me get this piece of legislation passed you have a strong voice and your representatives. Listen to you. They care what you have to say. And if you let them know that this legislation is important to you. Then they will help me get it over the finish line. And I just want to say one more thing on this. It's a very bipartisan piece of legislation. So in my VA hospital we have actually four members of congress than now. Hold off this hour's there because the VA hospital. It's actually, you know, maybe a block or two outside of my district. It's actually in the district of Representative named Elsie Hastings. So he holds office hours their Representative Lois Frankel holds office hours. Their Representative Ted doto office hours there, and I hold off hours there. So now in our one the hospital, you have four members of congress. With their eyes on the VA holding office hours there and making sure that things that things get done right there. And that makes a difference. Excellent. Thank you so much. Antoine. Yes, sir. Go ahead, brother. How you doing? Good. How you doing wonderful? Yeah. I can hear you. What's going on? Buzzer to meet you and thank you for your service. Thank you in yours. Yes. My name is Angela calm. I'm e support for radio and a member of post..
