Epic Games' Fortnite is no longer available in the Apple App Store

"If you saw me tweeting last week, you know I have lots of things to say about this epic. Game store, but it's been really good that I've had a couple of days to sit on it and look at some other people's opinions and read a lot more about it, and so I think that it's it's going to be something that obviously is going to be drawn out because legal battles never move quickly especially ones of this nature but in case you happen to miss the news. Microsoft is no longer the only person with beef with apple facebook gaming is no longer the only person with beef with Apple. Now, epic Games decided to just take a can of gasoline and throw it on the beefy fire and it's like let's go sim is seven beefy Phya. Literally that's exactly what they're doing. All right. So let me catch you up here. So this right up comes from Games Industry Dot Biz fortnight developer epic Games seems to have a way of breaking with the rules in the face of fortnight success companies have ended a long standing practices hold on let me move these notes over some not looking so far off screen. There we go. Like Sony, which abandoned its fight against cross platform play back in two thousand eighteen after EPA Games forced the issue eventually leading cross to other games to fortnight size and popularity. Of course, gave EB Games the power to Ben Sony Nintendo's rules but we'll the tactic work with monolith like apple and Google. While the North Carolina, based company is trying on Thursday morning EPA Games updated fortnight with new options for payment processing providing a discounted price for players who chose to process payments through epic, not apple or Google epic circumvented the. Apples. storefront thirty percent cut on purchases by giving players a twenty percent discount on books. Fortnight's in game currency in response both apple and Google removed fortnight from the APP store and the Google play store respectively citing policy violations as it turns out. This is what epic Games was acting and it had a plan moments after the game was removed from Apple storefront EPA Games began its Hash Tag free fortnight campaign complete with a Hashtag in game propaganda video and a pair of lawsuits. So before I continue I'm GONNA. Go ahead and. Get this rolling freeze. You guys can take a look hold on Erica In those lawsuits games argues that Google and apple's policies are anti-competitive a violation of antitrust laws. EPA, game CEO Tim Sweeney said on twitter that his company was not looking for special treatment. It wants apple and Google to change its rules to create a truly open platform debate benefit all developers not just. It'll be a hell of a fight Sweeney said fortnight's removal from the APP store doesn't necessarily impact gamers too much at least not gamers on android Google's platform has more than apples and the game wasn't even available on the play until April instead, people had to download it directly from epic games and they can still do that including its updates. So. We all know that the legal process for anti-trust cases is devastatingly slow as came. Industry has pointed out and what they kind of continue to the story with and did cut up quite a bit of this. If you want to read the full article, you are welcome to go to that website and check it out but it is quite a lengthy one but I think. It's important to kind of look at the litigation impact and so what they write is this litigation has a much larger scope than any of the challenges that EPA Games his face like the Sony Faceoff EPA. Games is the underdog if you can call it that although it's valued at more than seventeen billion dollars that's still significantly overshadowed by the trillion dollar market capitalization of. Google's parent company and Apple epic isn't asking the court to rewrite antitrust laws as it stands instead, it's asking the judge to enforce the law as it currently exists. It's different in that way from the antitrust here in Congress last month where government officials discussed potential changes to market power rules. Epochs lawsuit however is still important. If epic wins, it will make it clear that apple and Google's practices are illegal, and then those companies will be forced to change their practices.

"APP STORE PLAGUE INC is a game about managing the spread of a virus across the world. It has been a popular and successful fictional simulation game for some time but with all of these issues related to the corona virus. It looks like China has decided to remove the game from the digital storefronts in the country. Amanda Yo reported on the story from Nashville writing. Pandemic Simulator Plague Inc became China's top paid IOS download in January as players flocked to the game in the wake of Corona virus concerns. Now the game has been taken down from China's APP store with the Cyberspace Administration of China citing illegal content plague inc developer endemic creations announced the sun removal in February twenty seventh blog post. We've just been informed that plague INC includes content that is illegal in China as determined by the Cyberspace Administration of China and has been removed from China APP. Store in Democrats wrote. This situation is completely out of our control so this is a tough situation. I understand China would be sensitive about a game. That game is the spread of disease and develop endemic creations in its blog writing about how the game was pulled did acknowledge that the corona virus is not officially. Why the game was taken down they wrote. It's not clear to us if this removal is linked to the ongoing corona virus outbreak. That China is facing but I think more than anything. The popularity of the game should be embraced right now. The game does serve as a way to educate how disease spreads and it could even be used as a way to deliver information about how to prevent the disease from spreading further last month and Democrats posted a blog about its efforts related to the corona virus where they wrote we specifically designed Plague Inc to be realistic and informative while not sensationalising serious real world issues this has been recognized by the CDC and other leading medical organizations around the world. So I just don't know that pulling it really accomplishes anything. I can sympathize with both China and endemic who are understandably frustrated that their game was pulled from the store for unclear reasons. Fortnight developers question numerical data surrounding its games from super data. I think the story is interesting because I personally am always fascinated by how gaming data and sales are tracked. I have commiserated about it before but I always really want to know how many people are playing games and how many copies a game has sold. But there's really no reliable public source of information about this and the story only makes things more confusing Brendon Sinclair wrote about this. For Games Industry Dot Biz and you can find the link to the story and all the stories. I talk about in every episode by the way in the show notes but sinclair wrote epic. Games is disputing some of the numbers. Being publicized regarding. It's free to play battle royale shooter. Fortnight the company reached out to games. Industry Dot Biz today with a statement questioning the methodology of Nielsen's market intelligence firm super data super data does not and has not ever had access to epochs fortnight revenue data and super. Data's reports do not accurately reflect. Fortnight's performance an epic representative said. We are disappointed that super data has repeatedly published wildly inaccurate reports about fortnight based on what we believe is questionable methodology while we do not and have not publicly shared revenue numbers for four-night. We will say that super. Data's reports do not align with reality epochs comments two games industry DOT Biz. Were not in regard to a specific report but super data recently released a report that basically said fortnight was on the decline and said its earnings were the lowest they've been since November two thousand seventeen in response to epochs statements super data told Games Industry Dot Biz. It has quote a proven methodology and validation process. I'm not rooting for fortnight's decline or anything like that. I like fortnight. I think it's a fun. Game and epic has been incredibly smart in terms of embracing its success and capitalizing on it. But I think it's safe to say that nothing lasts forever so it will dip eventually. Maybe that time is now but my big takeaway from the story is just who do you believe I? I would love to have real undisputable data about games health. And it's a bummer. That that kind of data just it just really doesn't exist. I remember reading interviews with xbox live arcade developers early in the services lifespan. That would say the only way they were really able to track their sales by looking at how many screen names appeared in the leaderboards. That every live arcade game was required to include. I assume those developers eventually got reports about sales numbers and the like but I just wish there was a place to see downloads. In sales numbers. Just give us more transparency. Video Games please. Here's what released today on Friday February. Twenty eighth one punch man a hero. Nobody knows is out today for PC. Ps four and xbox one for fifty nine ninety nine. The game is based on the anime and Manga series. One Punch man which is a fan of. Let's basically comedy action franchise and the whole idea is the titular one punch. Man has gotten so strong that he is able to defeat every enemy in one punch. And he's grown nihilistic about everything because life provides no challenge or excitement for him. It's very rewarding to watch for someone like me. That is a big dragon ball fan and likes anime. That is all about characters trying to become stronger and stronger. I've only dug into the game a little bit. But it's heavily modeled after jump force in terms of mechanics and gameplay. I'm excited to play more. If nothing else it got me to start rewatching the first season while I was doing some work last night in preparation and it was a good reminder that the show has just fantastic action sequences and is also really genuinely funny. Metro Redux is out on switch today. Which is a compilation that includes the first two Metro Games Metro? Twenty thirty three and metro last light plus all their various. Dlc's I would take the technical promises of this quote with a grain of salt because this is directly from the marketing press. "Rather than just commanding manding it right now and I think there's comparatively few. This is a little bit more in the military from my background but comparatively few instances says. Where were you were the executive and you need to be able to just give a command right but I think it was Couple couple glinting back Diana David and I had that same thing is is there. There are times when you have to be able to do that but it should come as a result of having built up a level of trust to where that person understands. Okay we're at we're at crunch time. And he's he's just saying this is just got to get done. Yes and in the military and certain other occupations life and death is on the line and you don't have time to have a dialogue in. Its you've got out command but you've also been conditioned to follow all of those commands in in corporate America most of the time that's not the case Nando leader. Who is you know on the way out the door certain things going on a high level of stress and they might have to issue a command but better to be able to say? Paul you know I I I hate to say it this way but just you gotta get it done and you. You know I've got to go do this or that but if you built relationships within you get your I know the guy like the guy or I know her and I like her. Seems like there's a lot of stress here. I'm going to do what I can. You believe that stress. That's about building reporting relationship. Those people to yeah and and and I think you know the even in the military. I've found that there were ways that I could. I started seeing this principle work. You know I would. I would pose the question to my soldiers. That's how can we fix this. What do you think you know? And they'd come up with ideas and a lot of them are really smart especially about our. Our job was trucking working so they were really actually a lot better than me at knowing their vehicles and knowing what they were capable of and let them come up with the answers and they would tell me you know you you were very different from the other. NCO's because they just bark stuff at us and then and don't bother explaining anything. And I said well I've got four or five really sharp guys around me who know this stuff in many cases better than I do. Why not use them you know? Why not use their ingenuity rather than stymie it in the name of you know saying I'm above you I just I don't care about that stuff? Will you just mentioned something to that's important about barking orders and not telling us why so one other thing. The smart leader does too is when win when they ask they also give a reason and study. Show when you use the word because in particular compliance tends to go up significantly because as as children whenever we would question mom or dad if they take out the trash. Cut The grass your homework. If we ever dared saying why would they say because I told you to which none of us stopped and said well wait a minute. That's not really a valid reason. We got in line and we did it and so the theory is conditioned by this word that if we use it if I say Paul would you be able to get me the sales numbers by Monday because I need get them for the board report now. You understand that people don't do that. They just issued that command in. So don't ask tell or excuse me don't don't tell ask give yourself a fallback position and make sure you tell y use the word because if a people listening to this incorporate great just one thing in from this point forward they ask they get fallback positions in they use the word because they will be pleasantly surprised. At how much more they'll it'll get done because people will naturally ultimately say yes to them. No well that's Great Brian. I appreciate all of all of that insight. I'm about out of questions for the moment unless you had anything else for the good of the order Nothing in particular that I think I need to put on the table. "For more details at over to DIY publishing dot biz audio books versus e books versus print books, who is going to win of the three. Well, you're going to get a lot of mixed opinions on this, and what I'm gonna do is just try to lay out the facts and let you know what is doing what in a wear doing well, so for the sake of brevity, we're just gonna kinda. Focus on the whole Amazon platform. It's just easiest because it's the largest reach, but understand that globally, speaking, the performance works, just about the same when it goes from one platform to the next just about, so there's the problem a lot of people think. And especially since the big boom of like say two thousand thirteen two thousand fourteen two thousand fifteen fee books is the thing to do that. All you gotta do is go bullish on E books and you're gonna profit hand in fist. But this is just a very narrow minded approach to self publishing books and the reason is there are the other two options of print books audiobooks that you should definitely consider, because there's an audience just eagerly waiting to read or consume your content, if only or available in that because the fact is hi everybody wants to open up an electron device. And read a book, a lot of people like to have the physical part in. It's hand in their hands. So something like a print book paperback or heart hardback, people might to read on their own terms. They want don't wanna feel like they're forced to choose one or the other when you can give them all the options, then you're going to greatly benefit from this. So there's audio book as well and I'm gonna get into why you should focus on audio book, first, let's focus on e books and print books. What's the big deal here? Many people, of course like I had mentioned are going really just bullish on able 'cause they're just wanted to go all in. That's all they're doing. They're like print books are just do hard. I, I, I'm just going to go ahead into stick with e books, and sure there's some truth to that. However, if you were just the smart business person, I would really recommend if you've got content figure ways that you can funnel earnings. From one avenue to fund the next one. So if you're finding yourself saying, I can't afford or don't have the time or the know how to format into print book and have already got the book, then take the book sales, and take a portion of that in folate over. So that way, you can start to bootstrap your way up to actually doing a project with print or even audio book. This is gonna play across the board e-books unit for unit or selling far more than their other counterparts of print books audiobooks. And that's a good thing, at least when I say it out loud on paper unit for unit. It's outselling the other ones. But the fact, the matter is electron books are cheaper then print books and audio books in most occasions, so across the board. There are a lot of self published authors that are putting out books that are like e books that are ninety nine. Cents or dollar ninety nine hundred to ninety nine and you compare that to their counterpart of something like a print book that's retailing for, like, we'll say cheapest eight ninety nine to as much as nineteen ninety nine or even forty nine ninety nine these larger price points that really separate them. So, yeah, you're going to sell more at you more unit before unit with electronic books, but you look at print books. They make a larger portion of the global publication prophets, why. 'cause they're more expensive and yeah, they're not selling as many units, but you're getting far more in return for each units sold when it comes to print books, and you can, of course produce paperback books through say something like Katie p print Ingram spark Lulu. Or if you find that you're saying, I really need hardback. Of course, you have something liking spark Lulu Barnes and noble press offer those options either way. Would just highly recommend that you don't forsake print books. I know that for me I'm I'm of the type person that I've come hybrid. I will sometimes we books, but every now and then when I just need to shut off from technology and take a day off, I'd much rather have the material aspect of a print book. And I don't care if it's Bareback hardbacks, and there's no consequence to me. But for the most part, I really do like having print books, and it's probably one of my preferred ways I don't see print books going away anytime soon. Then we have audio books, the fastest rising star over the past few years in all of publishing. And right now, it's still that little brother of the three of e books and print books. It's not pulling in as much revenue as print books or e books and it's not selling as many units as say either one of those, but it is definitely on track to overtake those two. And I'm just gonna speculate speculating this. When I say, I've received audiobooks eclipsing that of units sold verses e books of verses print books. Why it's easily consumable with the growing demand for technology in the accessibility of technology for most people in the fact that instant gratification, come. Comes into play these, this is all just a magic formula..

"Pressure is off dot biz? GSA members of TSA are taking to call outs. They're just not coming in anymore, and it's a five percent hike from a year ago at this time when it comes to the rate of those unscheduled absences it's up to eight percent. According to a statement and report put out this weekend. Can you blame members of TSA or anyone who is supposed to be working is considered? Essential isn't isn't getting paid. And then they're not working. They're calling out there looking for other work. They're saying, you know, what it's snowing here in the capital and in Washington, and I just don't want to mess with it. If we're not going to get a paycheck. The longer. This goes on. The less and less. You can be upset at these people. I think I just it's tough. I I don't know what it's like to go through it. But it is not easy. I can imagine Debbie and Manami falls. Good morning, Debbie. You're on WTMJ. Good morning. I am a furloughed federal employees. Okay. I am currently not working. I can't blame the yes agents. I I think I would guess they don't know what else to do. Know, I don't have to drive into work. I mean, it's bad enough not getting paid. But at least I don't have the added expense. Having to go to work every day and not get paid. I'm also an somewhat unique position. I what the government twenty five years, and I have enough resources to last me for a while. But that's not true of many of my coworkers, Debbie how does it work for insurance? We have been told that our health insurance we'll continue that it won't lapse. And that when we ultimately get a paycheck. Our Shamsur premiums will be deducted at that time. And so we're told we don't have to worry about our health insurance. In the meantime, though, because you have other resources, you're good. You're not you don't have another job. I'm probably the exception because that's how you impasse furloughs. We've lost people younger workers, and I have an advanced degree in some people. I work with who said I can't do this the rest of my life. I can't wonder if I'm going to be off for no fault of my own and not getting a check and they've left government service in there there. Good people, and my big picture concern is at some point. You'll you'll always find people to work for the government. But I ain't going to get quality people and more. This happened more. We're corns in this giant team. The less likely. It is I eligible to retire. I'm certainly not gonna leave at this point. But I think big picture down the line. They're going to find that there are issues and at that point difficult beat down the line every the go. Oh, what happened and you feel like saying, well when you treat your workforce like this. What are you are you in contact with co workers colleagues of yours that are also a furloughed, right? What is the overall mindset? What is the overall morale of those with whom you speak? It's poor. It's. They they've kind of calculated exactly how far that you make it. And they're not sure what's going to happen after that. I joked with a coworker, I said, well, you know, if you need something commies skills while I'll wait till went down with my last big of ramen noodles. It is morale is poor. You have absolutely no control. And I see other thing congress and the president have one main tablets just wants the government. And I don't even know the last time many federal agencies actually had a budget. We've been on continuing resolutions for ages. That's not the way government is supposed to work. So who's ever supposed to be doing their job is they're not? And so it consequence of that is war not easier. Let me ask you this as well, Debbie because I've heard some people say well when you enter the federal workforce when you were a government employee, you take on some risk that this could happen. What is your response to that? Okay. My response to that is and I know there's this whole dispute as to whether we're overpaid or underpaid. I think if you look at the studies that actually do it by job title, you'll find that many of the individuals that have a bachelor's degrees or higher do not make the private industry makes. So my response to you is I knew that there would be certain things that I would have to give up to work for the government. I kind of assumed that was a bit in salary, although I do have a decent retirement plan and other things, but you don't expect to be off of work over a month. In the past the worst shutdown. We was probably about seven years ago. I think that was a total of sixteen days with weekend. And we really didn't miss a paycheck. The expedited our paychecks when we returned and we might have gotten them a day or two late, but it was an insignificant amount of time. I'm not sure anybody when they sign up to work for the government thinks going to lose at this point one twelfth of the year. I think that's far more extreme than anybody would ever anticipate. What about Debbie? I know we gotta get it into commercial year. But I quickly. What about like the dire consequences of you, not doing your job? And I know you don't really want to fix what you do. But is there a stack of papers? That's currently sitting on someone's desk. When you get back to your are there really going to be in a dire circumstances cities, you get back to work in my particular job air, probably thinks that won't get done which will have an adverse effect long run. "Small business, concierge dot biz. All right. So we played all the information few head author of the piece on for you the piece in the hill. The FIS a shocker the DOJ officials warned that the Steele. Dossier was connected to Clinton was biased months before the general election must before FIS applications were put forward two of those officials now on Bob Muller's team, by the way, and it involves again, the top top level fish theft, Andrew McCabe, like Peter Struck likely page. I like Andrew Weisman is now with Muller. And again, these were the none of them stood in the way of the application being filed to spy on an American. On based on this dossier, which by the way cuts against I'd love to see Adam Schiff responding to this now with this resort because Adam Schiff, who's now the head of the house intelligence said, no, no, no, no, one knew about this dossier was briefed on this until after the FIS award was filed and after the election now, we know must before the Fiso awards filed because it happened the briefings happened months before on the dossier months before the election itself. So we take your phone calls one eight hundred six eight four thirty one ten Sheldon into jersey on line. One sheldon. Welcome to jaysekulow live. You're on the air. Hi, how you doing? I was just wondering if there's a way to revoke finds a warrant that they got to by lying about it. And if there's anything we can do to these people that that allowed this warrant to go through. And if if that's the case wouldn't all the evidence that more got to this warranty not allowed in court of any kind and be illegal. Yeah. The answer to the question is there, you know, the Pfizer court can't revoke the warrant that it issued the damage has been done. The surveillance says occurred the American citizen has been spied upon by his own government. So that has happened. But the information that has been obtained from that if it is the fruit of the poisonous tree, that's the legal way that we say, then that information might be excluded and cannot be used by Muller or by anybody in any proceeding. But the thing that bothers me is what does the court do the court can hold somebody in contempt. Lock them up. Punish them fine them for bringing information that is not full complete and total to the attention of the court when applying for the warrant, so that's the consequences of lying to a Pfizer court judge. Let's keep going through the phone calls. One eight hundred six eight four thirty one ten I know people have been holding on Carol in Michigan. Thanks for holding on your now on the air. Hi, I'm calling in response to your question on what could you done to restore confidence in the federal the FBI? And I just wanted to say that my confidence in the entire federal government has been when it seems to me that everything's in chaos. Yeah. And I think what's happening in the deal. Jay in the FBI assistant. Of what's going on everywhere in the London. You'll hear a story with the FBI the next day your history about something else. It's just too much. Join the confidence of the citizens of this country. There's a few agencies that we have to just outright trust. Right. You've got to trust that the top law enforcement agency is not gonna come after you for partisan reasons, you have to trust that the IRS is going to come after you because you're political or religious beliefs. These these these powerful institutions that affect us as individuals because they have the power to tax and the power to imprison us. Yes. So to take our resources, take our earnings and the power to imprison us, if you start losing faith in those enforcement departments of government that Joe the other departments of government like you said, Carol where I get we may not feel the day-to-day impact as much or need to maybe have this healthy, healthy fear of our healthy, trusted reliance on that they will not come after you because of your political views or your religious beliefs. Are who you are. So. Associated with politically that it's for real crimes or for real tax issues. And I through those because I see those agencies have the most daily impact on a potential impact you really have to be able to trust. Then of course, the FIS is situation goes outside of just the departments have government. But it involves our court system as well. Because those judges are taken from the circuit courts. And so they're taking from the federal judiciary. They're getting this information. And you would think at this point if that judge who allowed that Pfizer is really this information at say that how biased that's what it was relied on that. They would be taking the actually you described. If I was a five to judge, and I had listened to heard information to get a warrant based on the Steele dossier, and that had not been disclosed a me who steal was who paid him. What is motives were that he hated Trump that he didn't want to see Trump elected that information that should have been disclosed to me? I would be furious. Right now. And I would be looking for some United States attorney to bring an action for contempt and certainly would expect the gut the defense if anybody was indicted charge to move to suppress the information that was obtained by the war. Yeah. I feel like I obviously, John Solomon the hill. Catherine Herridge on Fox News and others are covering this. But it really comes into groups like us to make sure that members of congress, especially Republicans still maintain control the Senate Republicans still have a voice in the house strong voices. Like, Jim, Jordan, and Mark meadows that they are. They don't let this information go by the wayside. They do something with it as well anytime they've got an opportunity to question these individuals. Yeah. You know, I have a concern Jordan on both sides of the aisle that that elected politicians are going to spend more time focusing on their next election than on getting to the bottom of this. And that's really why groups like ours play such a central role in sort of forcing them to pay attention. I do think that chairman grams gonna take another look at this. I think the Jim Jordan and Mark meadows in the house are going to do everything they can to stay on it. Although, obviously, they don't have nearly the authority they used to just make one other comment. I mean, you talked about the gravity of the IRS and the FBI and the the impact that they can have on your on your life. I want listeners to be mindful of the fact that you combine that with the fact that these are unelected bureaucrats they're not directly accountable to the American people. So where I differ a little bit from the caller. We just had a few. If you're frustrated with the chaos in congress, you can go to the ballot box and remove the officials that you're frustrated with you as a voter you cannot remove Peter Struck you cannot remove James Comey. Sure, you can vote for a president who can eventually replace them. But Jordan when you couple those two things to grab. Charge. And the fact that they're in on the elected bureaucrat, that's where it gets really really dangerous the messages of to to a present and future presidents, our if you do replace them if you do remove them. Wait to see what's coming from that bureaucracy. They will they will leak information to get special counsels. Jim Kolbe said he did intentionally. He leaked information on his conversations with the president's or transcripts of what he says he talked about with the president to get a special counsel appointed let's pull that sound. So we now know the even when you elect struggle officials like the president United States right now, President Trump willing to get rid of these officials they cut back, and they will work with their allies to take you down. Literally, take you down like take you out of office put people in jail. Because you had the audacity to get rid of bad actors the federal government that no one liked by the way, even though everybody agrees afford election that no one likes them. What's it can become a partisan issue? Guess what all that unity around fiery, Jim Kobe, suddenly disappeared? Now could Hillary Clinton got away with it a lot easier? Yes, why look at the federal bureaucracy, look where their political donations. Go. That's all you have to do. I think it's ninety eight percent of Dotres who worked for the federal government who donate to political campaigns somewhere that ninety plus percentile donate to Democrats. They were Hillary Clinton donors. So they're not gonna come after her for forgetting rid of one person. But it certainly they play the kid gloves with her even though they kind of botched it towards the end on her behalf. So again here is Jim Kobe saying why do you leak so when you even have strong leaders ready to get rid of these people because congress can't fire them? We can't fire them. It's the executive that can this is what they do shoot by twenty five. I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter didn't do it myself for a variety of reasons by asked him to because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel and that and the to get a special counsel appointed is to sully the white the president whether or not nothing even comes from it for the United States, it distracts, it makes governing tougher it gives the other side a talking point on every issue every single issue they use it on and until it's over they last years, and it has it has shadowed the dog this president since the beginning of his presidency. It has been a shadow in a blind over him for almost going on two years in may. So call me got what he wanted. You know, he he leaked the memo he got drawed Rosenstein without even consulting the president Rosenstein appoints a special counsel. I'm not commenting on the contents are rather on the integrity of the special counsel. But he appoints a special counsel. And what has he done? He has put a shadow. And an aura of of doubt and question over the ability of this president to govern for the past almost now two years ago. We got what he wanted. All right, folks, we come back. We're we're final segment, we'll take even more of your phone calls. Couple lines are open right now. So give us a call one eight hundred six eight four thirty one ten what would it take for you? I think no bars going to.

"Small business, concierge dot biz. Jaysekulow a little fun with Elizabeth wards announcement, but we'll get back to the seriousness of the twelfth day of the garbage shutdown people that disagree with us as well. I want to go to one of those calls right off the top of the bed. Carl and California on line six car. Welcome to jaysekulow live here on the air. My question is why is the American but held in hostage when the campaign promise. What's that? Mexico would pay for the wall. Well, the president said through the renegotiation of NAFTA, the money saved there in the sense of Mexico's paid for the wall with the concessions. They have made to our trade deals, and that that is how Mexico will be paying for the wall is through new trade deals, actually go to Harry Hutchison riot, stop the bad Harry, president very clear about that that Mexico was going to write a check for twenty five billion dollars. It was that we were going to renegotiate NAFTA that's been done and through those renegotiations that we would be saving the American economy billions of dollars that has been done. I mean, I'm sure we've saved now through this new to go she's much more than five billion in probably the full twenty five billion over the years. Absolutely. And also, if you think about the creation of a border wall, essentially, it's a one time capital improvement, and certainly you'll have to maintain it. But you will not have to spend twenty five billion every single year or every five years. And so I think it's. Very very important to focus on the real issue, which is the national security implications associated with the wall and asked this question to all Americans are they supportive of national security border security, particularly since new evidence suggests and it's clear and unmistakable evidence that terrorists are attempting to smuggle their way across the American border. We also have huge problems with drug trafficking, human, trafficking, and other issues, which adversely impact the US economy. And hence, if we can reduce those types of activities, we will save tens of billions of dollars long-term. We've got calls into on this potential likely if you through DACA into a deal like this getting into the fund the rob in Los Angeles on Cal in California live four, rob welcome. Jaysekulow live. You're on the air. Yeah. Hey, guys. Yeah. You don't want. If he wants to throw in Dhaka. I'm okay with that. But I would ask for all twenty five billion. He's gonna throw DACA yet. And you know, what just a little a little thing about the last caller like all the social services, we spend on these people would be Dave with that twenty five billion for the wall. We save one hundred million dollars a year. I sure probably just in California alone with the social services, you all provide your state. To illegal immigrants at again. It would make a more as we said already go to west Smith on this retired Colonel west Smith humanitarian process because people would be getting in those who would be getting in legally would be getting all those safeguards of the of the US government all the social services, but there wouldn't be the drain on the social services. We wouldn't have children dying. Right. And I think the reason why we are having those situations occurs because the border patrol agents are not. It's not their job to take care of kids. They're not doctors. And we kinda shows you that there is this crisis. There there is is national security issue. Jordan is also a moral issue. If we had a really secure wall, you would allow us to take personnel and other resources put them at the legal ports of entry. And for that matter even increase the number of legal ports of entry. So that we could more expeditiously process people who are trying to come here either claiming asylum, or who who are coming here to work, we have so many resources along the border patrolling twenty four seven this open and poorest border. If we had a wall, it is not it's not a panacea is now the only part of the answer. But if we had that it would allow us to transfer some of those resources to help people who are really trying to get into the country, but it's a national security issue and immoral issue. Harry mentioned the human trafficking every year. Thousands of people are brought across the border. We only catch some of them. Who are bringing people here. Either into forced labor situations are into the sex trade most of those who were caught coming into the country with a trafficker for the sex trade are minors. These are the ones that we catch in almost every instance, a sex trafficker for that matter most drug cartel operatives. They are not going to try and go through a legal port of entry. They're driving or walking across an open border. So that's the moral aspect of it. I have no granddaughters. The age of some of these prostitutes being brought from central and South America into America in the sex trade. But it's also national security, our enemies, and our adversaries they watch these arguments. They know what's going on every year. Jordan, hundreds hundreds of people who are caught. We don't know about the ones we don't catch that come across the border illegally are not from central and South America, they're from Africa and the Middle East and after nine eleven one of the reports that came out from the nine eleven commission was that what we had in America. Prior to nine eleven was a failure of imagination. We could not imagine the links that our enemies we'd go to to try and attack America after that we went into react mode as we should. But at this point, we don't know all who are coming across the border. We don't know where this series are. And if if you know someone crosses the border and major attack is launched a dirty nuclear weapon or something like that. You'll see our politicians go into react mode. But it would be a shame that people have to die before we take border security seriously. In realize is immoral issue is also a national security more people have to die who've had border agents killed people killed by police officers who became US citizens killed by legal immigrants just this past few days. I mean, I think that again people are dying because of the lack of border security, and as you're talking about west is a massive event before people take it seriously, and we should not have to get their line. One. Was Steve's calls a great one for thenn, Stephen Georgia on line one. You're on the air. Hey, good afternoon. I tell you what you remind me of an answer that when I was in the board of a cold and no gala, Sarah Zona, the eighty year old woman who had crossed the border at night with a group and fell off a cliff and died if you had one of these prototype walls, like I've seen on the internet. He would've never attempted it and toddler tried it. But here's my question. If Trump in in the Democrats were able President Trump, and the Democrats were able to compromise two point five billion if there were another bed budget battle year from now when he get another two point five billion in one other question, I hate to do this to you. But if if he does if they do include the DACA with Dhaka be on the same path to become a citizen as everybody else would there be specific requirements that would be different from the regular program? Daca was deferred action. So you'd have to codify this into something different. It would be different than what DACA was DACA was a temporary is supposed to be temporary deferred action. So there will be a pathway. Of some sorts. But that the real issue there is there's no guarantee with these resolutions that you're going to get another dime in the next resolution, especially when the the Democrats control the house again, I love our callers. Right. There's no guarantee, but Jordan, the calculations do change if you're only talking about a five week continuing resolution and posted a full year. And that's really what we've been talking about through the whole show. You know, the president wants twenty five billion dollars over five years. That's the way once five billion dollars for one year. But look if it's gonna be a five week continuing resolution, the pro rated amount for that is only about five hundred million dollars to key would be Jordan is he allowed to use whatever that number is to actually build new wall because with the Democrats input put for they want to say, look, we're willing to give you some money, but we can't build new wall. With with the president has said is I'll take a lower number. But you have to give me the authorizations I would need. So inter Steve's question singly if he were to be given one point five million dollars for five weeks. Let's say. And he could build new wall with it. I think he would take that. And he would come back on February eighth and expect more to sign a new Bill that is not what's been offered. At this point, though this point Jordan. The Democrats seem more intent on denying the president a win than they are dealing with the seriousness of this issue. I was looking back through some records today in two thousand thirteen a Bill passed the Senate the house refused to take it up. But a Bill passed the Senate in which forty billion dollars was allocated for border security, and guess what all fifty four Democrats voted for that Bill. So the it is pretty pretty star Harry financially. This debate has nothing to do with the impact on her US economy. Absolutely not. And so if you look at five billion or if you look the entire amount twenty five billion as a percent of the twenty nine. Eighteen federal budget the projected budget. It's a small fraction less than half a percent for the entire twenty five billion dollars. So it's not about the money. It's about ideology,.
