"Know a lot of stuff. The defense also called a man named garland lay them who used to work at the warehouse. Remember that surveillance video that the defense said the prosecution held back from them during the first trial. Well now is their chance to show it to the jury. The video showed a man whose identity was never confirmed walking through the warehouse. Parking lot about two hours before the murder lay them was asked if anyone had ever asked if he could identify the man and he said no. But it's the first time he has ever seen it. A hearing specialist was also called to the stand according to w k r c. He testified that he administered a hearing test to david's wife and that she had moderate to severe hearing loss in her left ear and profound hearing loss in her right ear. As you'll recall. David told detectives that she may not have heard their question correctly. When asked if david had come home that morning and as for a tape gun being the possible murder weapon. The defense called dr richard hot a bio mechanics engineer and professor to dispute that. Dr houghton said that in his opinion he didn't think the tape gun could have caused michelle's injuries that it was well below the amount of force needed to kill someone like that in her closing arguments. David's attorney diana denison said michelle deserves to have the right killer prosecuted and that. It's not david dooley. She said there's a mountain of evidence in the case but it doesn't connect him to the murder. She also pointed out that the force that was used to kill michelle suggested the killer was in a rage instead she said it could have been another warehouse worker or dan mockby could have given someone access to the building and then hired that person to kill her. It would be a rage so great to have bludgeoned this woman to death. And they want you to believe it's over time card. She asked when it was his turn. Prosecutor heck showed a photo of dan be to the jury and said is he a cold blooded killer or is he had devastated husband. He lives with the mother of his murdered. Wife he's raising two children. He had with his murdered wife. The trial concluded in march two thousand nineteen for the second time. David waited for the jury to decide his fate and for a second time. He heard the same verdict. The jury of four women and eight men voted guilty. The following month court resumed as david waited for his sentence in an emotional hearing. michelle's loved ones gave victim. Impact statements describing the absence in their lives. Left by michelle's dav michelle's sister. Jennifer schneider spoke. We will never know what truly happened that day. She said according to the northern kentucky tribune newspaper the only people who truly know. Are david dooley and my sister. Michelle mockby and only one of them still has a voice. One who still has a voice almost seven years later continues to be a coward and hide behind his lies with that. The judge sentenced david to forty three years in prison. He would return to court again in two thousand twenty facing charges over child pornography from a crime unrelated to michelle staff in a plea deal in november two thousand and twenty. David pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two five year terms. According to local media reports. David dooley will serve that sentence concurrently with his forty three year murder sentence. "Forty two year old michelle mocked be was brutally murdered. Early one morning in may two thousand twelve should just arrived at her job as an hr employees at thermo scientific a northern kentucky. Planned a supervisor named ed and a janitor stumbled onto the horrific scene. Michelle had been beaten. Her wrists cut her skull fractured a plastic bag around her head. Here's a monk long vicious office. I think somebody who killed somebody upstairs in her office. Okay thanks somebody else. He's laying there underground over it up and there's blood all over the floor office okay and you said this board outside the store yes man. Big pile ed's voice trembled on the phone with the nine one one dispatcher. She urged him to send the janitor to block off the path so nobody would disturb what was clearly a crime scene okay. That's the gator. That at went up there with you just he. He's the one that the steps down not let anyone go up there. The janitors name was david dooley. As the police investigation continued and authorities searched for a motive to understand why someone would kill michelle. David dooley would become the main suspect. He was arrested and charged with her death. A jury convicting him in two thousand fourteen and sentencing him to life in prison but this isn't straightforward and shut case by any means in two thousand sixteen. Roughly two years after david's conviction a whistleblower a clerk who had been fired from prosecutor linda tally. Smith's office gave the attorney general. A thumb drive with some damaging information on it. According to local media reports the messages on the thumb drive made it clear that the lead detective in michelle mock these case detective. Bruce mcveigh and prosecutor. Linda tally smith had been having an affair under oath. Tally smith admitted that they had started an affair. After david's trial had ended david dooley's defense team said the thumb drive also contained proof that the prosecution had been deceptive and hadn't released all the information in the case to the defense what was kept hidden from them according to local media reports. The defense said surveillance video. They hadn't seen before captured an unknown man walking through the parking lot and approaching door behind a nearby building the night before michelle was murdered. The defense argued. David deserved a retrial. Judge james r sh- rand who presided over the first trial. Granted that request in two thousand seventeen. And that's where today's episode brings us to david dooley's retrial. Will he be convicted again. Or will there be new evidence that proves his innocence. This is jillian. "Don't forget we will be here tomorrow. Yes on new year's day a little bit earlier than usual we'll be here. Twelve o'clock twelve to three and We hope you'll join us. We'll take live looking at some of the ball games and have a number of analysts standing by go to both the cfp sites. And as i mentioned we'll take your phone calls. Graham calls right now and shannon is first up from georgia. Hello shannon lessening. Call how you doing. Hey there i want to start out by wishing you and your staff and your family gets happy. You're prosperous and healthy new year. Thank you so much. Thank you guys for everything. i'll do. Twenty twenty tough but the finebaum show. It's something we all enjoy and you guys have kept it going. We appreciate that. Thank you You know as you know. I haven't miss words about my feelings on mullen and in that staff at florida You know last night's loft pushed into thirteen and thirty eight against ranked opponents and one in three this season. And what really made the the whole thing. Worse is is his players quit and when he pulled. Trask effectively did the same thing. It just seemed like they gave up the fi. And i don't care how many people opt out or how. Many people on a book of kobe. Or what have you a thousand and one excuses but you've gotta fight the good fight you've got to compete and i just like watching the game and i watched the entirety and tell me if i'm wrong. There seemed to be a lethargic apathetic feeling and attitude displayed by the players at florida. I mean they were just in time for the defense so they quit. Yeah nobody nobody. Objective could argue that shannon and listen. If you don't have the players don't play nobody nobody. Nobody is going to make you play. This game was bum phillips. Don shoe or bad or talking about but he said he could take his and beat your and then take your and be here. Yeah bum phillips you know i mean you gotta you gotta play. Who who shows up you gotta dance with brought to you know and and those players that he referred to as scout team players if i was a parent or if i was a little slayers i would be so offended by that terminology. You're telling me that i'm not. I'm not really a quality player. I'm just a scout team player down here. I think shannon who a game like that can can do a lot of damage. Pat dooley may have bought some of what the coach mullen was selling. But i don't think too many other people will and know that's the final that you're you're not. You're not playing in the Some bowl game in the middle of nowhere you're pointing in the cotton bowl in prime time and you either you either compete or i mean. The oddsmakers only had the light. At at a touchdown it wasn't like Vegas said this is a forty point game. So i mean i think dan mullen is really losing more with his mouth. Any is with his coaching. Well i you can't convince me that he wasn't. He was convinced he could compete. Yeah sure wanna start tile. Trask course called cal. Trask and sat his heisman finalists. Midway through the first quarter and and sporadic a little bit and he gave up he absolutely gave up and then he tries to spin it as those were scout team players in the last game of twenty twenty team was eleven days ago. What have you listen. it's always an excuse. It's just a matter of time. As i said a couple of weeks ago chickens come home to roost and and those folks in florida that would support that kind of stuff. Getting exactly what they deserve. Appreciate the call. Drew is up next in georgia. Hey drew thanks and welcome to the program. Hey hey call his troop george. I just wanna thing. Thanks for taking my call long time listener. But i wanted to. You know vote all fan but also wanted to say something about florida and you can always a couple couple of things calling touch base on this that you know. I'll go and go back to the florida game Florida lsu you got three and five lsu team playing at florida in back in the old days. I say all day seventies eighties h call if you're ranked team for was seventh or they had 'em at six or seven and you to three and five team at home. You talk kim spots. Well they move them. So i said okay. You didn't move. And then they go play. alabama they lose to alabama. They didn't move him and all know. I just don't understand where we're at now and they say in the in the rain and the committee and i think the committees can grow at this point. I say you know. What do they do. And i mean a team. That's you know. I think you're absolutely right about his mom hanging in which by the ip. I thought florida really fought hard and alabama game. But at one time they were way down they came back they hung in there. They're really good team. And that's disappointing. Part if you're a gator fan that you just absolutely threw away the osu game this game is an absolutely tobacco and it's hard to put that back in the bottle. That's that's the. That's the painful part in. All dan mullen has to do is go in there and say we listen. I'm not making excuses. We we made the decision to play the game. We fought hard and we lost. Do own rent.

"Good afternoon. We've made it to the final day of two thousand and twenty. I guess you've heard that before. But we are here for the rest of the afternoon and we thank you for joining us and we hope you'll listen to some of our guests and give us a ring and come close to ringing in the new year which begin with some news and it was pretty unpleasant last night. Arlington texas cotton ball and pretty much. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong especially early in the game. Gators look terrible. Traffic struggle interceptions piling up. The defense for florida was awful. Pretty much everything about it was awful. I nine games. The gators look great. Second three last three all losses. They were disastrous. Dan mullen signed a put perfume on a pig and he had a hard time. Doing it was a another interesting experience for dan. Mullen after a game. He has not exactly one the post game this year including last night. I kind of view. I guess maybe this is wrong. I viewed this game very. That wasn't the two thousand twenty football team that you saw twenty five guys missing off the twenty twenty football team out there tonight. That was kind of like a kick. Start for us for the future and the opportunity for young guys. Go play us even with me with all the coaches. I wanted to make sure that you saw all a lot of different guys on the field. Rotate a lot of different players different situations and a lot of that was for me to get to evaluate guys in for us to be able to teach those guys moving forward so that's kind of kind of view this game not not really have you last team. The twenty twenty team played was eleven days ago. Thirty five point loss in a major bowl game was forty two point game but they were able to whittle it down to a mere thirty five pat. Dooley's been covering the gators for many many years. He seemed good the bad and the ugly and pat. Thank you happy new year. Great to have you on and your reaction to what happened last night. And especially dan mullins comments which have been generally panned from coast to coast. Hey pull a second. Let me get to the handset. Because i i'm i'm having a hard time hearing ya can hear you now. Yeah okay yeah. I just wanted your reaction to not only the gay but especially dan mullins comments after the game which i said and you may not have heard have been pretty well pan from coast recovery. We've got it back on here is Why don't we. Why don't we try to get back. I'd rather not repeat every question to pat and we'll see if we can get him back but the bottom line. Is this the reaction she. Dan mullen has been pretty bad and this is not the first time dan mullen has come under attack. You can debate. Whether they should have played the game. They decided to play the game. We should give them a lot of credit for that but it was. It was unbelievable embarrassing performance for the gators as she pretty much expected to be. But you know you had so many players opting out. Why pretty obvious why. They didn't really care after losing the sec. Championship game Their interest in the season had gone down. And some coaches talk about how important these games remember. Kirby smart last year stressing that we were not gonna throw away another ball game. This time. Dan mullen just use it as an exhibition but unfortunately it was. It was quite embarrassing. Many many people get reaction all afternoon. Long i'm sure there's plenty out there and try to get pat dooley on again so pat one more time one more time. Your your reality is going to be quiet. You talk your reaction to the game. Yeah it was It was not good and it certainly i. It would have been nice. If dan mullen had told everybody working to try to win the game i have afford and so nobody. You know gator fans wouldn't have gotten invested in a game But it was. It is weird. I mean they boy. In the first few years they only had one player opt out of a bowl game and and they played. They took him seriously. And i was trying to think about why that was and the reason was because those teams didn't have anything to play for when they got to the post season in terms of an sec. Title this team. They could be in the playoffs and obviously the devastated them And then you know to at least make give alabama gain. They showed how they are a good team. Offensively anyway and then You know you get to play a game like this and they you know eight eight or nine guys depends on what your account is decided We're gonna move on and i. I think it's part of the problem. We saw the same thing. Two years ago with michigan against florida. Paul remember that game. They had a bunch of guys their best players that did not want to play in the game and florida. You know trash them without any problems. So it's part of the problem with the bowl system as we see it now and i'm sure they're easy answers but i'm hoping there's an answer somewhere in that named image lightning you know. I understand all that pattern. And i'm i'm not interested in recapping the game and i don't think anybody is because it really doesn't matter anymore but i am interested in trying to better understand dan. Mullen someone that you've covered now for three years and continues to be wilder people with his comments. Can you help us understand him better. Well you know. That's the thing about where they are right now. Is i think.
Trump says he is doing well, but next couple of days the 'real test'
"Night. Two of President Trump's Hospital stay at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, where he's being treated for Corona virus. He says he's feeling better, but knows he's not out of the woods. You don't know over the next period of a few days. I guess that's the real test. So we'll be seeing what happens over those next cup next couple of days after some back and forth between the media and Trump's doctors, who offered conflicting accounts on the timeline of the president's illness, it's been confirmed the president needed oxygen. "To play safely and we've by all accounts The medical experts have seriously disagreed You heard Bruce Feldman about an hour go talk about how most of the coaches have not all in the PAC twelve after hearing medical presentation agreed the big ten has been more muddled. But what about in the SEC we've not heard a lot of other than. anecdotally but we have some information now coming to US courtesy of the athletic Josh Kendall is quoting. Dr Catherine O'Neill WHO's an infectious disease expert and she's an assistant professor. At Lsu Health Science Center and she said I would say we have seen enough to develop a safe plan they meeting the big ten in the pack twelve have not even even ID doctors or competitive apparently our plan was earlier our plan was based on an experience that they had they had not yet done and we implemented that plan faster than they did for that reason so we could prepare for this. So we feel confident in our plan I. Think our football teams can absolutely get through this I. Think our athletic departments can absolutely get through this I worry about our community and outside forces that we can't control. So some very interesting comments again, that is one doctor she is on the Medical Task Force I'm sure the big ten duckers. Don't appreciate that. But that was that was those were fighting words there from the dock we are going to continue. With more of your phone calls at eight, five, five, two, four, two, seven, two, eight, five, and Logan. You know what I excuse me Logan you know what? I got got from that doctor that. The coaches are competitive and even the doctors are saying we're better than you are good afternoon. Hey Paul how are you doing today? Okay. I'm loving it man I I. Hope we keep getting some good positives, information I just I augie Kaunda trigger, something a memory in my mind I wanted to If I have a few minutes recount a story of a former se coach that I met once in a weird place. He were my friend a couple of friends of ours. We're going up to a pearl jam show in Atlanta. We used to live down in South Alabama. So we went up. And we went to the show. and. As we were to back down, we stopped at a gas station I don't for whatever reason maybe to get some gas or whatever but I, remember walking in seeing this really nice towncar. Pull up beside us. And Out of the Corner Ma I see this guy that looks just like Terry ballot and now this was in two thousand. So. You know I'm an Alabama Fan. So I hated Terry about you know I despise them, and so I'm thinking like what what is he doing here? And So we walk in there and go get whatever we wanted to buy, and we get into line and My friend Scott's standing behind me in line and Terry Bowden walks up. Beside him and. He's complaining that they don't have the rotisserie hotdogs. You know like those There's really nasty things you buy and the gas stations he's like complaining about them not having. So I'm sitting there thinking like is this really Terry Bowden I can't believe this. You know this is weird. It's probably like Eleven o'clock at night. And so always said, you know I would give them a piece of my mind I've ever met him. But Paul I chickened out man I didn't say anything to him. You know who he was. My friend Scott. Turns around and ask him he goes hey. Are you Terry Bowden former coach of Auburn divers. When he gets yes, I am. and. He's like, what are you up to nowadays man? He's like I got this great job in New York. City. I'm driving up there right now. To. Be a host of some show. And I just thought it was the weirdest thing the most surreal. This pandemic when this pandemic ends and we can get together I will entertain you for hours with material Algan stories that will. Make your hair stand. Okay. I can imagine. I once. Was About a month into a project about writing a an expose on his tenure at Auburn There was a New York publisher that wants to do it and I was pretty a month into a project and I finally gave up onto because it was going to create some much. Litigation that I didn't really want to spend the rest of my career fighting the Bowden family but but anyway, you brought back some. Some great memories. Zach is up next. Another North Carolina call. We've been heavy in the tar heel state today. Hello. Zack. Hey Paul thanks Michael, how you doing thank you. I just wanted to say I have to listen to to podcasts them away home from work. So I'm usually about two hours behind Now I WANNA say I do fully understand the seriousness of what's going on but. I love the football part of this show. So we'll try to bring a little fun back to it. if GM is so upset about the bulldogs coming into custody Lusa he you know the first game of the season he doesn't have to you know risk a hundred thousand dollars on just send the season down I understand that. I'm not sure I understand it either but it's just one of those situations where there is no really easy explanation sack. We'll come back to that I. Don't know if he's going to back out hundred thousand dollar up to thank you for the call I really do appreciate it. We want to bring a guest on now Pat Dooley from the Gainesville Sun and talk about where we are in maybe where we're going pat thank you appreciate the time as always So where are we? What's going on down there? I wanted to get in on that one, hundred, thousand dollars that I tell you that when I heard that I was like, Oh, I, Wanna I wanNA piece of that. Yeah. "That's the only big one at the. ACLU. Called in a minute ago who wondered about it? I mean there's nothing to wonder notre. Dame is the gold standard and college football and I think John offered made a very shrewd mu I'm not surprised. I mean he's been a great commissioner for twenty years. Right and the other part of this fall to my take at least is that It'd be a shame not to have the old fashioned Hey Georgia tech and Georgia and the other three robbery games at the end of the year. But the other thing is here if in fact you know the situation is the non conference game. With Notre Dame at this point Notre Dame schedule go to navy like you mentioned the only possible pick would be Arkansas. So if the SEC chickens out and doesn't play the Rivalry Games okay. I'm I'm sticking to see. By the way I. Think you're right Lucas Arkansas Arkansas's right too. Yeah. I pay ten you hear me you see what I'm saying yeah, and there's a lot of speculation in I. The SEC is looking at three models they're looking at conference only in menopause one I don't know why they wouldn't go to a pause one just from the optical part of it because it is going to look like they're they're trying to avoid those games. And the other thing I mean I don't know Notre Dame and then they've been pretty close. You know the history low. Mo might they convince Navy to move the game to South Bend they would have to do. There's no, there's there's no question I'm sure Navy could figure that I mean the game was supposed to be in Dublin So I would think the Naval Academy would do whatever they had to do to keep that game on the board. Yeah. But those European people won't even let Americans into their countries if you. Hey Kevin there. A couple of states I can't get it right now. So forget forget Europe. Well I am worried about one more thing. No Man I mean since you're he's and am I gonNa meet the demonte possessed and have to go get an exorcism by talking to you. I mean please tell me you're not that big of either around well I can't say that but I I am scheduling a an early October visit to Georgetown. University if that gives you include. "Is appreciating your gesture by changing the ridiculous structure of Notre Dame being an independent I I don't. Think. I think both sides got something out of it. But what the ACC got is the Notre Dame desperately needed them and they did what they had to do and you have to hope that Notre Dame, gets off tie horse and realizes that they would be out of luck right now without the good graces of the ACC. Yeah. Paul I agree with you know because the thing is you know the The basketball team at Notre Dame Compete for an ACC championship and they compete in the ACC fully. And somehow deal with sign they allow the football team to still be out there as an independent and play a few. Games you know sparsely. And I'll tell you man it's it's pretty contentious in this area because people feel like, Hey, you know who are these guys? But I. DO agree with your point that, hey, you know both sides can gain something but for me, it seems like the Notre Dame is getting. More out of this. Anybody else that well, you're right but considering how bad the ACC is in football. I think. All man come all have just speaking the truth I think Notre Dame will help this assuming they get the season in Notre. Dame. We'll. We'll. We'll have helped them Notre Dame found places to play. I'm interested though it looks like the Navy game is off the board for Notre Dame and that's game. It's been on the docket forever. Hey, thank you for the call I really do appreciate it. We're coming back with a final thirty minutes after this. You're listening to the Paul Finebaum show podcast. It's your.

"I always say that you're going to be way. Further ahead of you can find simple things that you can actually do consistently rather than trying to achieve things that are complicated and consuming the barriers of complicated and time consuming. We'll get in the way. Keep it simple keep into things that answer the question that you care about and and and do the simple things well I think. That's that's coaching rule. A sports science rule that you know will stand the test of time. It's one of the reasons why I still come back to light. I mean I see what I see. People trying to read create. You know super complicated movements in the weight room trying to achieve this idea of transfer from Jim to the sword. You've got all these crazy things happening. You know. It just doesn't resonate. It's not that doesn't work. I mean who knows? Maybe it does work really well. I just think you need to go back to what Derek Dooley said when he got that. Each skater man. I'm just GonNa Start with one thing. I'm going to see how that works. And then when I have a problem I have one more thing in and that's a very different way of thinking that starts simple in ads things in rather than starting super super noisy and tried to strip stuff out. It's really tough to understand. Things started noisy. That was Dr Matt Jordan. And you're listening to the just fly. Performance podcast thanks for being here with us today a lot of times when it comes to the process of training athletes the process of working to become the best that one can be in a given sport. It's very easy to fall into traps of complexity. Making things more difficult and complicated than they need to be or putting more noise in the system. So it's really hard to tell if what you're doing is really working or not. I've certainly been in this situation myself many a time. And it's that type of situation makes me thrilled to have Dr Matt Jordan as our guests for the show. "And today. We're going to talk to Mike Dooley and Mike Dooley's a house author for quite a while. Now I'm sure many of you know who he is He was featured in the secret. He also is known where we knew them from really was is tat dot com his notes from the universe and I know so many of you get his notes each day just like I do how you doing. Mike. Hey read. I'm as good as could be expected and and honestly I'm better than that. I'm actually making the effort and sometimes it requires that to see the silver lining and maybe even better see the whole thing as as the blessing. It really is this quarantine this pandemic which you know is not what our physical senses are showing us but we're being called to go within and see what we don't normally recognize so thanks for asking. That's for sure. And where are you? Are you down in Florida or are you somewhere else? No I'M IN FLORIDA BY LAW. Not Allowed to leave my home. I'm working from my home. Normally I work in an office across town away so that's taken a tiny bit of adjusting but I certainly cannot complain and be Year like a lot of people your home with your your family your young daughter and your wife and it's A. It's a little different than when you're used to go and do an office on my gosh is so different and I knew it would be distracting. It's even more distracting than I thought. But it's also so powerful to be around the love of my wife adoring is of my daughter and I think that actually makes up for my lost productivity otherwise. I have less hours to work but I get more done during those hours that I do work. That's what I think. A lot of people are running into that definitely people are seeing Some changes but some of the benefits of those changes for a lot of people. I know this isn't the case for you or me. But they are getting to miss out on a long commute to work so they're actually have a lot more time in there'd Oh even me. I have an hour and a half more time every day because of that commute well. I didn't realize you come on Mike when you have your own company or office near Your House. What was thinking but yeah so that you have an extra hour and a half so there you go if you if you're playing with your daughter for an hour and a half a day that doesn't even use up any of your time. That's so true and You know you're right when you say that in and I'm experiencing you know actually a sense luxury and I'm not diminishing the fact that there's fear and pain in many corners of the world wide scale but we each have to begin with where we are right now and I often told readers and audiences when the unexpected happens. The can't otherwise be pinned to obvious thoughts of your own as a co-creator then there's the invitation tonight. Explain what just happened that you are being affected by but look to see what the side effects are. What is this pandemic making possible right now in each listeners life that would not have been possible before good bad and ugly and I think therein lies the answer to to why we are all participants of this? I think we all needed kind of to look within to change our priorities. I mean the pictures around the world read of clean water in the canals of Venice and clean air around the Taj Mahal before and after pictures I've seen on the Internet are just shocking and it's only been a couple of weeks and I think we all were missing a beat in our priorities to allow ourselves to to become blind to some of the things that are simply more important to everyone. That's for sure I mean there's definitely I mean as what some of US There's definitely some struggles people are going through and some but there's definitely huge benefits especially for the environment like they showed China before and after like or before and then during their two or three months that they were shut down and the huge difference it was for pollution and they do thirty percent of the pollution in the world. So that's a heat reduction and and for America. Obviously we're big polluters as well and that's GonNa have a huge impact now that eighty percent of the country's in their house so absolutely it's the beginning. I tell my readers and my video audiences. This is the beginning of a great healing contrary to the physical senses end all the broadcast. This is not the beginning of great sickness Sometimes you've gotTA take a couple of steps backwards before you take great big leaps and bounds. Forward and I think this is exactly what's happening and seen from that perspective which I do believe is a truthful one. These are exciting times to be alive. And an I urge everybody to literally started journal digital or pen and paper and start mapping out the best of your life you have this chance whereas before we were all on the treadmill and we were all running in the rat race trying to put out fires trying to be everyone to everything to everyone. And now it's been mandated You know whether by the government or our common sense to just stop that. Stop it and use the time that you wouldn't already otherwise have to to be grounded. In truth I tell. People read a lot of Hay House books suggestion Mike at hey by the way we just launched a brand new. Hey how's out? It's called hey house unlimited and you can get access to every. Hey how's audio ever created for five dollars a month so thirty thousand hours of audio's five dollars? We're trying to help people with your suggestion. Yeah well that makes it a lot easier and we need that you know and I say house books not because I'm part of this amazing family but because I view read and you know my work I view that in life there is always a true not different truce. There are different pads to the truth and every pat needs to be honored. But I don't believe that there are different truths you know. Life IS BEAUTIFUL. We are powerful. We're attornal beings time and space is an illusionary playground to kind of have adventures fall in love and be loved and when we lose sight of the truth we have these klag. Myers we slip and fall. We get a sickness we have pandemic because of the confusion not because God is angry or certainly no judgment or punishment and through the slip and fall and the opportunity creates for recovery. We can use that time. Best to get grounded in truth to uncover what it is as I was just saying that life is beautiful. It's a gift we chose to be here and by by meeting. Hey health books for example. Not because I'm part of the family but this is one of the greatest collections. I'm sorry of the sounds like Promote Promo one of the greatest collections of authors and speakers who understand I guess if you will the the language of ancient history whether it was biblical or Buddha or they were all saying the same things because there is this truth. And I've been enriched by other. Hey House books. I've been honored to contribute. And whether it's hey house or you know anybody else's favorite Spiritual publisher there. Is it true drill down to it? It will set you free. Yep that's for sure and yeah in the in the new APP obviously all. Mike's Books are in there. So if you want to listen to any that's your chance. There's even a seven day. Free trial period. You can listen for free and get get some inspiration in there. You can listen to beginner's guide to the universe. Get it all started right now. What I was GonNa say is like you know as people are seeing changes. They WANNA make in their lives through all this. I'm sure a lot of people are or like you said finding your truth like how. How can people start to make some of those changes that they're noticing? They should be doing or want to do well apart from reading. And that's just one way and apart from scanning the Internet with you know ideal buzzwords joy and happiness and action steps to take now I think journaling is a really great way of tapping into our higher selves and people. Ask me all the time. Do I channel the universe? Do I channel like Esther? Channels Abraham Jane Roberts Channel Set. It's like not in the same way I don't just close my eyes and spit it out. But we are all channels twenty four seven of our higher selves. Even this conversation read. I'm channeling my spirit is using my physical body in vocal cords to communicate with you your channeling to me and in through the practice of journaling. Much like meditation. Although usually meditation is not frequently done with a question journaling. You can pose a question and immediately since you're expressing your inner spirit through simply asking the question you develop a faculty of reaching higher and higher into your own consciousness for the most profound answers and I've never fail to impressed by the stuff if you will that I get when I'm vexed when I'm hurt when I'm sad when I'm spinning my wheels if I can stop and type out a question on my digital journal or spell it out long hand a pen and paper and I start answering myself you know. It always feels like well. I'm just making that up but if I if I just give it a little bit of time I start writing more and more like Dang that was. That was a great answer. Just the way I write the notes from the universe. I always start out with no idea. Other than my end result of euphoria. No idea of what I'm going to write about and I'll just write the first words that come into my mind. They are absolutely awful. Edit delete custom cut and paste cuss a little bit start writing again and within a half hour to a couple of hours. Some take that long. Suddenly it's like. Oh Gosh that is so good and if I could add I recently interviewed Neil Donald Walsh and I asked a question about his conversations with God on dialogue has been memorialized in books. I said how do you know it's not your imagination. And it was clearly a question. He's posed to God before he's like he said. Who's to say? God wouldn't use your imagination to reach you. He's he. She is constantly reaching you in any way shape or form that it can. And so if you dedicate some time through enter any inter-modality including journaling. Why not you're opening the door and since it was being knocked on before by your higher self and you were ignoring it the god of yourself. This is an opportunity for it to come through and yet your imagination is pure God. It's God playing as we are all got playing. So that's one of the key things Setting aside that time books journaling daydreaming. Walking meditations or one of my favorite you know and it's astounding when we create the space what comes through. And how do you do walking meditation? Well there's something I call a contract. You don't close her eyes during a walk. Point typically in my limited experience with meditation. There's the suggestion that you know you completely still your mind. You stop the thought process as much as possible with lots of forgiveness and leeway your gentle with your style self but at least stop the chatter if not stop the words being formed. So that you're just aware and you're just like this deeper and deeper state which I personally have found very frustrating and in my own reading and dwelling within that's the best source for me dwelling within when I create the Space. I do it with a question I do it with deliberation I go into a walking meditation. It used to be with my dogs. Now it's alone can't really do it with my daughter. She's just a chatterbox. But just a quiet walk around park around the pond even around the neighborhood and dusk or evening. When there's not so many visual distractions holding onto a question. A simple question. Like how can I make the most of these weeks and months in sequestration or What am I not seeing? That's plainly there to be seen with my challenge regarding X. Y. Z. Whether it's finances or being an entrepreneur or being a writer or personal relationships. I bring the question to the walking meditation and even to Sitting Lotus style rather than vacate my mind. I call it contemplative thought and I recently read an expression in a book by Ramtha called the White Book Jay Z. Night where something very similar to contemplate a thought was referenced for going within and Further Ramtha..

"Coverage and how the employer can decide at a drop of a dime what you can and cannot access so. That's incredibly compelling. I don't know if you had a chance to see Bernie Sanders wrote an OP. Ed today in essence maternal health. Did you take a look at that I did? I did wonderful perfect. We know that when black women have health insurance it decreases black maternal mortality rate. We know that because in states where we expanded Medicaid we decrease black. Maternal Mortality Medicaid is not good enough. It might take you when you're pregnant. Navy amounted to after. You have the baby but we need to take care of black women before they get to take care of black women for their entire lives. We need to treat their high pressure before they're even thinking about getting pregnant. Expanding Medicaid is a good thing. But it's kind of laughable. Because I know that's not the best solution. The best solution is to guarantee healthcare for everybody human rights you as a black woman and get care from birth to death not only the year you decide to get pregnant. It's remarkable remarkable to me that we understand. We live in a country with racial bias. We understand we live in a country where unfortunately too many people who met black lives. Don't matter and that when people get left behind America it's always disproportionately people from historically marginalized groups and yet knowing that there are some who claim to be advocates for various minority groups who don't want universality and programs who want programs that are means tested programs were. Somebody isn't going to access them knowing full. Well what that somebody is going to look like so I mean normally appreciative of your advocacy. What most question I wanted to ask you is do you have these conversations not just with your patients but friends and family about the sanders campaign about Medicare for all. I'm curious what tactics. What arguments are most useful to you and getting through to folks about why they should be part of this revolution adult conversations all the time? That's my favorite thing to do. He is an older by mail. I was leaning more towards Biden. And so they. We started talking to that conversation about healthcare. He's retired educator. Fortunately in addition Medicare has a good retirement benefit still has the deductible and so I started having conversations with him. He fell in his head. He's had a slip and fall in hospitals. He had this huge hospital. But fortunately because you have two insurance Medicare and his insurance from enough employed his his adoptable was affordable for him must not for a lot of people right so I got my dad's attention with Medicare for all. He agrees that all people have healthcare as human rights. So there's no person that I've encountered loves their health insurance. I kind of like mind but the kind only reason I kind of like it is because it's better than so many other people and how messed up. Bad reason is white. Goal is because it's better than the majority of people have this horrible insurance and another big issue that I bring up night. Usually I'm able to GET PEOPLE. On board with senator. Sanders is cancelled student at As a physician as black physician incur more student debt than most my white male colleagues in order to be a doctor. Yeah and so in my household we have probably about a half million dollars in student at. Yeah so when I bring the People's attention that senator standards is not only candidate he's GonNa Cancel all student. That that's another big issue other than Medicare for all that. I'm usually able to get some people one of the things that really resonated with me about your approach. There is when Bernie says that line about what you fight for someone that you don't know and we hear P. Buddha judge and people like that saying student loan debt is for the kids of millionaires as though people who are millionaires takeout eight percent interest loans for everyone. We hear people say. I like my insurance kind of purposefully indifferent to how many people are suffering under the current system. We don't see at debates. We just had a debate last night. None of the centrist candidates are asked how they justify all the people who are going to die by maintaining the status quo. They're not asked to justify how we're going to pay for it enormously expensive system but also doesn't deliver anything to the people that need it and when you hear a humanistic approach like that when you hear Bernie Sanders asking. Will you fight for someone else? It really does. I think. Speak to a lot of people who at some point in their life at some juncture in some contexts. Understand what it is to be on the wrong side of the equation and to understand I think in a very pure away what solidarity means so. I really appreciate you joining me today. Dr Dooley and I hope to see you on the trail very soon with you next time..
"dooley" Discussed on That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs
"You are the kind of person that you you know I like. I was sharing with you. I said I struggle with exactly what lane I belong and she goes remember Jay. You're the person who's always like you don't live in a box. That's I've had to Kinda learn the as what I love Ester is. Sr was obedient to God. She was just a powerhouse in choosing to do the craziest thing. Yeah and She described she goes. She wasn't out there preaching to the people all but she was doing her God given assignment and I feel like that's really the voice. You have everybody which I don't know if that's going to be me. I don't think that's going to become relate with the way that she approached I and I really I really relate to that. I need to read the story of Esther again but when I mentor so that to me a couple of weeks ago I thought that's really interesting. She goes she didn't she didn't necessarily have the the way in which she operated. Was I think. In a way away that I relate to and choosing to just take big steps and go for it even when it's scary I relate to that a lot Dan I also just love the proverbs thirty woman. I wouldn't say I remind myself. She reminds me of myself because I have a lot of work to do. All of them. I have a lot of work but I I love it because I think this is such a healthy balanced approach especially for women of faith Between this mentality of like Oh I hate each like you know you give up my dreams and be broke. I think it's one like kind of toxic lie. We can tend to believe yeah or we can totally abandon that and go to the other extreme of like hustle and grind in whichever goal. And there's no I'm like look at the proverbs thirty one woman. She was profitable. She did not not feel bad or apologize for making money and we didn't either But on the flip side she also took care of the things in major. Her family was a priority. And doing those things that I think. Sometimes we can forget about when we're hustling after. Yeah I that's like my. That's like my beacon of that's what you put up over thirty one. I'm going after all that. Yeah so they're like when I think about our friends who are listed then there are some career women who are super driven and figured out there saying there's some women who stay home and have a side job out of their home and there are some women who their home as their fulltime. There's some dude to or work in kind of the same. I think there's an probably some stay at home. DADS listen whatever but sometimes I struggle struggle with the hustle idea and being good at being an anti How did you figure out how much hustle was right for you? And how do we figure out how much Hustle Hustle Hustle is right for us. You know I think part of it is we all have different capacities. Meaning we all have is because we're in different seasons and I think this is one thing that I really wanted to speak into a lot where it's seasonal ways. Because I don't think anyone like I said no one can hustle twenty four seven. I'm tempted to as the three tried to and then I broke out and then my husband's like you need to chill. Yeah I'm a nine over here. Yeah we'll do nothing notices and I'm like what are you doing here. Nothing and he actually thinking about nothing. And I'm like how we have fifteen goals. We're trying are you achieve here. So he balances me. We'll call that balance but anyways one thing that I've learned is and what I'm trying to be better about knowing. This is a season to hustle. Yeah and and this is a season to pause or to to. I mean right now matinee. Were just telling you off air. But we're freeing up mental bandwidth because there's going to be the next season where we want to build and hustle and we're starting to step up into that but it took a lot of time this needs to go and that seems to go because you can't hustle in maintained fifteen million things. Yes and I think when I got to the point of I I can't add something else but I know it's time for something else that means some I always say and the best way I can always describe it as when I know it's time for growth something new I always ask myself. What do I need to let go? And what needs to grow I just asked him and what needs to grow. And or what do I want to grow in there for. What do I need to let go? Yes because you can only you only have so much space in your tank. Yes and so I think not only filling up your tank consistently but also just understanding like am I trying to overflow this and if so what's time like what feels like a sore toda mi and not propelling me forward. What's not moving the needle? Yes maybe it's time to retire that or pass it off delegate that so I think that allows you to still hustle Yep in air quotes but hustle in such a way. That you're not hustling after everything and and managing everything that you've already hustled after. Yes it makes sense remind me is the boundaries thing again yeah of what is your actual capacity and and someone else being able to watching online hustle more or less than you has nothing to do with you right. You don't get to be proud if you look like you're out hustle and you don't worry if you're under hustler compared to him or her right. I just think it is a It but it's hard to figure out because we see other authors putting out twice as many books. Oh my gosh I know I'm like why right already have more word. I'm out of words. Yes Yeah Yup. And in so it's hard to know the balance of EVATT and how to let go of things. Yeah about a year ago. I was on a plane and I made a list and the very top said if money didn't matter what would I do. What what would I keep doing? What would I do more of? What would I let go and then I had to pass that list off to my people? My team management my agent my assistant and go like hey. This is how I really feel if I wasn't trying to make sure we all got paid. And we had to make adjustments based off of that or I was GONNA burn outs. I just knew it I need to do that. Yeah which I kind kind of did I didn't set it up that exact same way but I like that. That's a really good question to ask because in the way I did it was what feels like a sore toe. Yeah I love what's not allowing telling me talking to me from running and distracted me all the time what is worse than a Soto uh-huh maybe it's you know what I mean. You're right because it makes you all the time I'm in no one knows. Yeah so I think. I felt like I was limping forward. And that's not a way. You can't actually healthily hustled that way and I love the definition. I don't know if this is the actual definition but I saw this on the the instagram somewhere like just fax all day. Long right I saw someone post about this term Holy Hustle and I was like what what the heck that even means that even love but basically the idea was recipe or working without Gill and resting without shame and knowing like or maybe working without shaming wrestling without guilt. It's the idea of like shame resting without guilt knowing that you can work hard and the ad has you can chase things without feeling ashamed or like you're somehow not being a good Christian or person Senate or whatever like you are especially meaningful to you. And they're moving the needle and things that are impacting people but on the flip side pairing that with an equal. And I'm an arrest without feeling guilty that I'm not being productive and I think sometimes as ambitious people or just somebody who's passionate about something whether it's impacting other people's lives are making money for your family or all of the above or for your team And it can be tough to find that balance and so just trying to ask himself and resting without guilt or my thinking about what I need to be doing just like. That's just a really good little check in for me. You guys just interrupting this conversation with Jordan Duly to tell you about a new.
