"Committed athletes and coaches. Well can you believe it is the august. Psyching pocus feminine already. We are well into mid summer. So it's not surprising in this midsummer night's dream like haze that i see through the missed the fairy queen and fairy king of cycling journalism. That is all a shadowy and richard more. Hello both hollow minded fairy queen or as well but kind that was so a little implement. I avoided the obvious bottom half ass reference to mid some light streams. So you know just just say you the fairy king and queen. I think that's that was pretty complimentary. A mr lovely faces. I didn't get to see you know a great return from well. We see in your face your face quickly before we get stuck into it. I think we haven't mentioned in this yet. And i want to a huge huge heartfelt congratulations to rose and fell bringing us cycling. In france against from briefly from the welter did the first four stages of welte. And i'm going back for the for the final week. So yes kind of strange to leave a race while it goes on very odd You know writers talk about how hard the is is not quite the same as Yeah yeah especially when it when it when it carries on with buddah. I'll be back. I'll be back for Yeah i'm back for ten days and it's nice to be home as well obviously but it doesn't feel very august here. No no no jerry gray Yeah we'll bring this sunshine kids well exactly and what better way to bring sunshine than a interview packed episode. Which is what we have for you today. We have three very different writers with three very different stories today. Oh we have on occasion. Hoffa obviously won the olympic road race in astounding fashion. Probably one of the biggest upsets in bike racing history. I think it's pretty fair to say so. She was talking to richard. We have lottie kopecky. Who's been got izhar. Rarely been out of the top ten. She was also the olympic. She finished fourth in that road race to susan. Well i know. I was thinking hope. We don't end up in the old lottie kotecki. How good is not kopecky. Season argument market few episodes together. I i think. I said that she had to really disappointing season. So it's doing the interview with so bad but he's lucky. I didn't do kice nova who i did. Cool not a hapless chopper. Think on the last episode us a compliment. I'd love to be called a hapless chopper calls a hapless cia. Exactly exactly. The alternative is obvious. isn't it and Then we also have rachel. Who's got a really interesting story. She was kinda without a team until just a couple of weeks ago and then has performed incredibly well at the latest tour noise so she was speaking to all so all those interviews to come criterium. "Really tired. So i was really just trying to to win the stage in normal angrier volunteer pekan blanco. You love these. What is becoming an iconic climb. Yeah it is. I mean everything to waco nigger like It's it's it's windy creepy. And the day we come down to incoming. It's really nice calm. You committed to bit foggy. And are we daniel. Dum dum dum. That's where we are not sure be ineffective clue very good clue. It's been quite a journey. Get here close to the star of the day stage until we're in saad hail cemetery. Richard explained what where. Why is famous. Hill cemetery this very bizarre place and which took us over dirt roads to get here from the start by fifteen minute. Drive is a huge cemetry. But it's not a real cemetery. It was built in nineteen sixty six for the film. Good the by the ugly starring. Clint eastwood and and it was fell into disrepair. I mean it was neglected. Nobody looks after And it was the the grave the crosses that we see all of them arranged a ryan kind of central circle where there's very famous scene right right. At the end of the film. The first place that was excavated in well we'll get onto that in a minute fifty years almost fifty years. After films made the site was excavated by fans of the film and and recreated and these crosses were by. They've got names of people. I think who've who helped pay for the restoration fifteen euros a pop these graves these crosses were sponsored and there are some other some notable names on them. Lawn for example. Metallica the heavy metal band written on that. And i believe monte ninety three metallica. Who started that shows with that. With the famous annual maurico soundtrack and also the i think the pictures offset hill cemetery business. Pay of your your name on a on a cross in a cemetery before your time but em call. Yeah this is a pilgrimage. You obviously a few other people arriving than if they've come up from the star of the stage as well and it was our colleague p cousins who alerted us to the fact that today stay started very close to the site and Well we were watching clips from the film that the the film is amazing to watch. It's fifty over fifty years old now and but it was shot in very high. Quality films is in beautiful technicolor and these scenes here at the end of the film. Show right in this very spot. Hearts bleed isn't it. It's kinda hard to get your head around the but they you know so recognizable these hills with the and the the trees can sparsely positions on the hills around here and we'll split like the wild west isn't it america and rich. We will be visiting the or. I will the another location of the of the film i think more of the film was That was recorded down. Near alameda narrative visit to the tobacconist the desert tabernacle and that was where a lot of not just the good and the bad and the ugly but a lot of spaghetti westerns. The good the bob mueller ugly being the definitive spaghetti western directed by sergio leone talion semi. Shall we go in Continue our pilgrimage. Donyell with this trump which. I don't feel remotely embarrassed by because people run playing this music on their homes..

"Like lebron esque figure in the league going forward He's incredible yeah. I mean you know. He lost the clippers. So i'm not saying like she. You know it's not like he doesn't have things to work on. And and i think that that there was definitely some challenges in. I think that that clipper series. He was obviously soa radic like he was himself consistent. But i think that just the the swings that series took were so you like just not like what we're used to in the nba all road winds and the these huge leads and then hugely getting getting erased so it was very strange playoffs but i definitely think that like really you're looking at the ultimate offensive weapon in lot of ways You know both in terms of scoring but also in terms of playmaking. Yeah i mean very lebron. I finals vibes from him. Where like if a couple of games go a little bit differently. We might be saying like holy shit. Luca just brought drew. Gooden donyell marshall's to the the western conference finals. Like he had that level of impact where he did so much more with with the least amount and it's pretty incredible. I mean he's best team. It was probably like tim. Hardaway junior in that series and they might bring him back. Yeah it's just. It was unbelievable. I've really hope they get him some some better teammates because he could do some awesome stuff in the future Who's your fifth pick to. This one is difficult. Because i have to pick a wing at this point right Because i have the andrea in higher. But i can't pick him in. Really like damian. Lillard is a guard so i can't pick him. I guess i have to go with kawhi. Because it's between quiet. Middleton for me right. I think kuwiat was more consistent. In the appearances he made the middleton has been even though he's got more more games played. Right right maybe by the end of this place we can look back and say milton but yeah quite was an assassin early on for all the reasons i said earlier about like why would even consider him over. Paul george even okay. I may go with a movie talk. Peace talks a little bit about. Why so i'll just go with dayton here for my son now yokich. I guess you could consider for sort of singlehandedly beating the blazers. I don't know if that was more of an indictment on the blazers than it was like a sort of tribute to the nuggets. But that was. That was an incredible performance. I think it was somewhat overshadowed by lillard aerobics in a losing effort. But it was still a really impressive performance by yoga. But we're not talking about your eytan. Aden's probably done more for his stock or like the perception of him around the league. El al people who like going into the playoffs. I think people who were supportive of his or probably feeling pretty good about their their basketball acumen now He's ill look he's able to do what guys like rudy and some other big big name centers weren't able to to stay on the floor in the nba postseason That's the big one. And maybe that's maybe that's the the biggest thing you could say about him. He averaged thirty eight minutes in. That clipper series. He played forty in the closeout game. Like you're not taking him off the floor and if anything his physicality and his aggressiveness that go back to aggressiveness. Like force the clippers to do things that they probably wouldn't wanted to have like they had to play zoo at starting center and had to play him a lot. There are times where they had to put demarcus cousins in the game like even when they went micro in that last game like you were seeing cousins. Come in and it seemed like kind of read. The tea leaves. They are putting him in specifically because a in a matchup with terrence mann would like power them down low even though the statistics didn't probably show it like that trickle down effect was was like spreading throughout the entire game. It was incredible. Yeah i mean it was a really in lot of ways like eight and is like is like the centers last stand. You know. I mean at least in these playoffs like yokich. Embiid go bare. Have all been eliminated but ayton is playing a pure center role. He's playing with probably the best point guard. You can play with at your center. Which is paul. And like his lobs and his ability to run at pick and roll with eaton is just. There's nobody who can orchestrate that better and he's the beneficiary of that and he looks awesome on both ends of the floor. I also just think he's got a really fun personalities just from really enjoyable to follow throughout his postseason some happy to have him as cr center so i think we got teams right. Yeah you want to run through them again. Yeah so my starting five. I got luca and devon booker in the back court durant and janas or my wings and de'andre ayton is my center. Okay and i have. Chris paul and trae young in the back core paul george and kawhi leonard along with one joel embiid. Abc really surprised. We didn't pick her didn't didn't come off the board. The only the best player available. That didn't get big with yokich for me. Yeah you know i mean. I had to take simmering during the playoffs whereas like if yogi doesn't lead his team to the second round i'm gonna look at his. Mvp win differently because he knew that whole axiom of like if you are the guy you should be able to get your team to the second round like west is probably more brutal than ever before. But i kinda can't stop myself from thinking. That and i was thinking like i get it jamal. Murray's not there. We'll barton isn't even there. Gary harris isn't even there but you have enough to beat the blazers. And i'm glad that he did because then i didn't have to really like put that out. I also have. It would've liked to have seen that. I'll be interested to see. Even if you lose. Murray murray is going to be out. I think for a bit of the regular season next year. I.

Canada Finance Minister Quits Post Amid Charity Scandal

"Look at a chapter of political tunnels. Now here in Canada where yesterday the country's finance. Minister Bill More No. Long one of the prime minister's closest political allies resigned it follows lingering ethics scandal that has surrounded Trudeau's government for some time by this stage well, today a little earlier prime to treat. That Christie Freeland Canada's deputy prime minister would replace bill more now at the finance ministry becoming the first woman to hold that post Donyell. The murmurings around bill more knows future had been simmering hearing the Canadian Press for several days. By the time, his resignation announcement came last night. What's your reaction to? What is yet another high profile resignation from Shudo's cabinets in the five years of says since he took office. Yeah, quite a quite another big controversy four Trudeau in the middle of summer I think you know off the bat whatever reason the liberals are given. Four giving for more knows exit here is a messy one that. It was said that he wouldn't be seeking election. Again, we'll be looking for other opportunities. We know that he'll be looking to helm the AC, which is a great post for him perhaps in a good career move. But at the end of the day, this comes down to. Another sticky situation for the prime minister that really threatens to derail the progress that they've made in. The coronavirus crisis namely their popularity with Canadians. But once again, another distraction for the prime, which raises questions about the ship he sailing and him as the captain let's say. This begs the question of whether Mr Trudeau is simply impossible to work with. Now this is just another controversy that comes only a week Tomasz after we spoke about the last controversy involving. The Governor General Julie Pie itch and the toxic workplace she's been accused of creating butts. The liberals the government to appoint a successor in Canada's first governor of the Bank of Canada and Christina Freelance who held the interesting post of Deputy Prime Minister and not a lot of Canadians were used to to that role before Justin Trudeau but she is his most senior cabinet minister and and now most trusted ally. But that group of People Tomasz as you know is is getting shorter as the months go on. It's seeming time and again, like Trudeau is is just a very tough guy to work with and when he doesn't get his way, well, you get run out of town we should also point out that. Bill, more know. Perhaps. Put. His foot in it and didn't help the situation on on the fact that he wasn't agreeing with the prime minister but we can set that aside they didn't handle that well but also a big controversy besides this is this we charity, of course where. He and his family and the Finance Minister and Bill Maher. Now both have personal and family ties to this charity and should have recused themselves. I don't think that. The, the picture, four Canadians by I think that picture. is becoming more and more for. Canadians. Like. An elite privilege class squabbling over not being able to work together and I think that really does not play well, obviously trudeau lost. His majority after the last election and who knows where it's it's going from here because it doesn't seem like he's going to be able to keep some of his top ministers around for very long?

Norwich stun Manchester City with thrilling 3-2 win against Premier League champions

"Hutchison joins me as we talk about a busy Saturday in the premier league well as much as Norwich place tonight after that massive result darn against Manchester City for the canaries with a win who would have thought it. I just have to you know oh pay homage to our lovely backdrop tonight on the River Thames. Look at this Hammersmith Bridge doesn't get much better than this. Unless of course he goes to tower bridge. Let's get because it's GonNa look like it's is probably not going to get better than that a win against the champions given the injuries that they've had as well. Did you see this. Did you see this coming because I've I have no mindset you all day long I believe but I tell you what I did. See it coming after about fifteen minutes when they approach the game with lows of arrogance Man City. I think they thought I think pep thought this. She's going to be easy three points. We'll just turn up play football. We'll keep hold of the ball will pay Loza possession based football will just play between the lines and score some goals. We'll go back with three points. It never walk walk that it definitely did not work. That's what I mean. Kudos enormous because what we thought was the fact that wants Man City scored. I want that goal the floodgates it would have opened but for somehow they still weren't able to break down. Why is that do you think they're missing a certain emmerick report as well there that probably would have helped them? Oh I think so I think along with probably one or two of their best player LaPorte la season. It was terrific. an emergent is one of the best center often world football so yes. He's going to be a massive miss. I still thought though because I've covered PEPs teams over the years I remember when he was at Barcelona and how much go rhino planes a holding midfielder played him center off on the same. We'll have you Martinez at Buyin so I actually thought you to play on Dino's center off the former Rhodri so that might be a pet might do down the line but you looked at automatically today and Johnstone's and they looked as was on the never played a game of those two especially were all over the place and just speaking on that LaPorte injury of course we know that is going to be a timely injury that do you think it will end up costing city the title especially given how Liverpool are going. It's a worry because listen mindset. You're all filled full superstar so you can identify any given time who you think might be Miss Kevin Lebron's last season but still won the league and still performed at a high level Aguire Heyzer to play number Games what you take out the poll where I I think he's one of the best center off do brings balance being left foot center off plan on that left side also plant life backing play as a third sent off as well so you take him at the equation on all of a sudden Muncie. It sounds strange to say still look a little bit short defensively well interesting. You say that then because remember this is Matt cities. I lost in the primarily since January incredible run an incredible stat that so given the fact that with everything that you just said and this LaPorte injury is it. Are they going to be to shell shocked. Do you think it to go on a run. That's again yeah. It'd be very interesting to have been a fly on the wall in the dressing room. Afterwards pen going ballistic. His players have just said this is a warning. This is a war and you can't any teams for granted or or the Badeah chewed or a touch of arrogance. It's nice to have a environment because it makes you play one. That makes you be confident but you can't take your position. Especially someone. Knowledge is a dangerous underdog because they've got players like Tim O. Cookie and can't who I think's going to be a superstar player they can hurt you at any given time but no one really soldiers coming. I think best case scenario thought I think people thought would win the game. Maybe nausea my goal to and give them a fright but the paper is going to be very interested in the tomorrow morning just before we move on from this. Let's just touch on March for because like you said this was definitely not a result anybody would have predicted voted for them. You know the manager even saying that beating city would be like climbing Mount Everest without any oxygen but they've done it. Can they build from this because as well a lot of people didn't even pick them to survive this primarily season Norwich Fan please. You'd ask Donyell faulk on never ever to change Shange always because you went to Anfield and I was sick and tired side of the press over the weekend call knowledge naive because they went to onfield outplayed Liverpool for probably thirty thirty five minutes of the game but lost by four goals to one so everyone label them naive Econ Hong Kong have this approach against its helps just proved if you style of play and you stick with duck and you Australian your beliefs you can get results against anyone so I just said Kudos Norwich on and a fantastic sean the on them because I'll give them so much confidence because then expected to get results against Mansi liberals they can do that two teams in and a random they must be safe life this season all right well next on my list that I have here because it's twenty nine thousand nine. We use technologies over phones now Liverpool. That's definitely somewhere that you know very well and hold dear to your heart up against Newcastle your hometown team Newcastle giving Liverpool bit of scare in the beginning but Liverpool as many would have expected expected on some how did what matches the city did not be was not able to do and just came absolutely roaring back shocked to unbelievable strike from jetro volumes uh-huh on his weaker right foot as well and smashed into the stanchion and all of a sudden you think in this is GonNa be a test of Liverpool golf with the European champions. They've gone arrogance about them. Where that that just swatting teams away? It doesn't matter if you poke the more you or your so of small scoring early goal at Anfield especially with the two years does this season last sees anything because of the Champions League I think so I think than being European champions now give them the air confidence arrogance where they believe her Jergen KLOPP speak to the press over the weekend in the UK. Hey saying he believed these players but now the play is believe in themselves which is huge on a mentality front because now that go beyond against Newcastle go beyond against anyone he wanted primitive and all of a sudden you poke menu and you smile at them and all of a sudden that's helped players. Just go through the gays and people like Maan who's an incredible. I mean what's He got twenty three goals in twenty nine unreal all of a sudden looking at superstar player. Everyone was talking about Mosala being the superstar fun Daikin Alison even though he didn't play today that building just such a rich squad where you think they all start contend believable with Muncie could be there yeah. What are you touched on Saudi-omani and of course like you were saying everyone has been talking about most most especially after you know the records he has he the and the record breaking man he has been livable so you think that Saudi-omani is a top man I do because I I look at him and I watch an I an analyzes attitude and he's he's strong durable? He's never injured even when he is ill play with Knox. those managers are priceless. the way he plays lays full of energy is hard as nails. He's he's quick dynamic. He makes things happen with support. FEE can run in beyond without the ball is now getting these goals does. He's getting his assists so when you when you analyze Liverpool you think who would they miss the most probably Saudi-omani all right well. Let's move on now to Chelsea because because what a result up against a team that we know wolves can be a very tough team to beat especially at home but you know. Can we get a hip hip Hooray for the Youth Steve Chelsea something that you know I want to say everyone has sort of pooh-poohed on in recent time saying young manager too many young players. They don't quite have have the experience to really go deep in the Premier League. It's GonNa take them at least another year or two but this is looking like a brilliant squad that really can threaten some of the other teams on Credit Franklin part especially Jody Morris so I know quite well it was working beyond the scenes academy level a few years ago before you went to Dhabi so he knows the young players coming through and there's many Moore's boy call James is not it's not really featured just yet who's going to be or could be a superstar so the way francs been brave. You'll have to say that it would be very easy if you're young manager to go with tried and tested rested experienced players but Franks put to one side he still got a good blend is still got got. The comeback who played a part in today's game were injured. He still contact the comeback but credit emmys playing the young boys. He's playing Mason. Mount is playing some more who got a goal today. He's playing Abraham do get in gold and top joint top-scorer and so you know frank is being a very brave manager tuck going in a in a club like Chelsea wherever it's always WANNA come yesterday. There's never been any for room for manages to try and maneuver in the past so yeah. There's a very very good job Jodi Jodi. Let's think of it on that man that you allege that you mentioned just last having Abraham wow three goals today that we know that hat trick that he's going to want to celebrate but I'm going to call it four goals because he's got yeah. He got the job of making the point. When you score three you might as well go with four escort goal any lean accounting methods it just take the fall the four hundred run put it up on social media later match go but it you know I was I was in in Istanbul covering the supercup and it was it was Jerus- dot dot dot game and it was what was going to be very interesting to see which way Frank Lenzi because they bring different aspects of that game as you root very good on the ball he can hold the ball he's into midfield as dream but tammy now is starting to become and he's not quite there yet but he's nearly the finished article where is hold a place getting better? He's very quick a spinning in beyond but more important getting goals are you surprised with the way in which she's just been improving and seems to be going from strength to strike because it was thought that was flaws in his game wealth will the whole to play our thought jude was better player but he was quicker than Jerusalem is an unwieldy down the line getting these calls which is most important for centerfolds. You know you can have all the build up. Play you like banging in the goals. People will start asks the question when especially when you're young plan your and a Chelsea side as I said I've got no take time to try and grow you go in there straightaway and you're banging in the goals and you're playing well. He's in a good rich painful from a rich vein of form there at Chelsea. Let's move on to Manchester United the the roller coaster. I have to laugh because I know you watch that game closely on paper Win for Manchester United up against Leicester who everyone said we're really and truly favorites going into this one you know ahead of them in the premier my league table but it really was not a performance that I would say you could take confidence from it was a strange game commentary on the game and it was almost aside Lester went into the favorites because of the quality players on paper but it's almost like they tried to kick dumpster united and Monday night responded really well Scott mcdonagh a real shift and it was probably their lead on the day he's only twenty two and he was he was Marshall Not Midfield and he was getting around everywhere. He was leading from the front. He was very aggressive. Although Daniel James had another superb game he was very lively off the left hand side rash was a little bit in and out penalty goal but still doesn't look like it doesn't look like a readymade centerfold or so much like learning these game off the left hand side and all of a sudden being thrown is a centerfold she still learning so think to analyze the game. It was one where normally manages try to analyze the performance and that's what they want. A thought today was a case of Oregon social just wanting the three points. That's what you needed just to give them a little bit of confidence and may be in the games come up with. You've got some really till fixtures. Maybe the three points against Leicester will probably not listed down a peg or two and give the money funds underplays a little bit more confidence. Do you think let's run out steamed. You pick them to run out of steam. I know this is a topic that we spoke about a lot when they ended up winning the primarily because again you know they started off so well and nobody picked it to last. This is another you know season where less to have started very well and we see the troubles with some of the other bigger clubs the Monday night is the Chelsea's having their slip-ups even spurs here and there on Arsenal so do do you pick them to to go deep is everyone has expected. I think so think my two teams I think would be calm unless that to try and get close to the top six. I think wolves are not just because of the loss today today but they've got Europe League football which is always difficult on a small squad. I think it's too much for them. but I was quite surprised at how Lester started the Game Brandon Brendan I think might want to see changes weight changes system. He played a forty three one way in the last two weeks. He's played a four one four one and makes Lester be more on the front foot a little bit defensive today a little bit on the puck for a little bit so of an order of Monday night but I think if let's go that time again and Brendan how again to to play assistant ultra and win the thing you'd have been one or two things

"But ultimately, if you look all the jobs at the moment, we think salaries taken even job so that does looks like it's closed ramen vets closed. We boss Alana's closed involving these stay in for the time being for the time being. You know, there's no mindset it was no job at Liverpool. And that and that really is the key there, if you can quickly, what would you do? If I were him I would go. Yeah. I don't I it's, it's about the school. Well, and it's also by the fact that I don't think I'm going to get to the stage again with this team liberal last year that you could have made the argument look this team is set for the future, this team could be here next year that you cannot say the same thing about I and I don't think they get to champions final next year and to be quite honest with you a lot of things lined up this year for them to do it. They took advantage of it. But in the end they fell short. So if I'm Harry Kane, I'm gone. But I would have been gone a long time ago. It seems like he has a connection with this call that goes beyond an objective business decision that there's more to it. "Indeed going to be talking about racism in football in the UK in the next out actually and football in this country going on social media strike over the next twenty four hours because they all sick and tired of what they see as the thirties lack of action on this problem. Many many races instant incidences in the primarily recently and at European level as well. So taking a look at that hit on Newsday. But let's get kind of phone you now size. Mona just have looks at ten years worth of quake data for the region and identified two million tiny earthquakes, which until now unnoticed. This means they're now around about full hundred and ninety five quakes every day across southern California. Donyell triggerman is from the Los Angeles. Sorry, Los Alamos. National lavar trait and explains why it's taken so long to measure them. So the way that they broadcast. Cast are so small that you can't really see them by and that's kind of the standard way of picking up earthquakes able look at seismometers, and they look at the wiggles and they can pick it out by. And so these guys are so small that you can't even see them. So we had to use some advanced signal processing hype forest competing techniques to detect and if you're standing in a very quiet place in California, could you feel such quakes petty THEO feats, only if you're very very close to them. And so most of these quakes are occurring at depths. And so like five kilometers step ten kilometer staff. There's no way you be able to feel them on yourself. If you are five feet away from them, and you'd be able to feel that for sure. So the area of the fault that these rupturing is border meters. So you know, it's like the size of a table. So if you're standing in a kitchen kick over a table, you can feel it vibrate. But if you're standing down the street and someone kicks over a table, you wouldn't be able to feel that now an average of four hundred ninety five of quakes everyday over a ten year period sounds like an awful lot of of quake activity for one area of the planet. It sounds dangerous. Yeah. Well, so most of these earthquakes are very small, and so most of these guys aren't very dangerous, but of course, in California there have been many large damaging earthquakes magnitude sixes in the magnitude seven that have damaged buildings caused fires and all this damage, and so those are, thankfully, quite rare. But these are quite frequent, but they're occurring for the same types of processes releasing stress within the earth's crust. And so by studying these guys for trying to get inside into some of the larger more damaging quakes, and if the is moving many times a day and can actually be measured than what is driving that movement of the cross because it sounds unstable. Yeah. I mean, all the mentally it kind of comes back to plate tectonics. So the plates that were standing on are all moving around all the time, and they kind of that you might not be able to feel them because they're moving so slowly, but they're constantly moving. Four hundred ninety five th quake today, you may not actually be able to fill them but going on in southern California Donyell trip from Los Alamos, National laboratory..

"Cutting. Can you just say I just heard you say you think that Lori has top ten percents. Yeah. But but Fred come on. I mean. You can't dismiss you. Are you are in a perfect position right now to maximize your ability to draft first overall based on the NBA lottery rules. That. Okay. But but every percent matter so I don't feel like I'm being he doesn't wanna Lowery though. That's. Well, that's dying Healy, but there's an eighty six percent can't we're not going to get him. Okay. But walking in the horizon. Fred every percent matters. That'd be let me ask you a question. If if you had a a fourteen and a half percent chance to live or a twelve and a half percent chance to live, which would you be most comfortable? I agree. My big picture though is time we're we're doing from fourteen to twelve and a half. Thanks. It matters. It matters. Fred, what do you want to do sit? Lori and sit Levin you wanna miss sit down because that's the only way we're going to do. We've never I've never said in Scillies never said that we would bitch and moan about a bulls win that was strictly because of their elite players Lopez. God bless him. He's a true pro is porn twenty-five and Felicia sitting on the bench. You are not maximizing the opportunity for you to pick the Moussa Orlando. You're only game out of the third spa. Every every beat writer will tell you how much that Lopez is helping with the Russian. It didn't matter. It didn't matter that Donyell Marshall was on the balls. You will never look back. Fred if they do become a contender and say the reason they became a contender was because a March of twenty nine never. Never become a contender because the talent improves in a maximum fashion. The same way that the bears are who they are today and talent talented tried. It all plays in. I'm will not discount the importance of the relationship with the coach and the quarterback in the coach and the rest of the team. I would never do that. Where they are Fred because there are more talented team across the board. Ryan pace has done an excellent job in the last twelve to twenty four months talent. Talent will always win the day. I love you cherry pick against Ryan pace. But it's all ready. Lori that LeVine a window cutters junior. We'll be the best big three in the NBA in three years, regardless of what we draft you heard it here. I keep up the good. We gotta get his isolating. Eric can you pull see red? Fred yelling. We don't need Zion. I wanna I wanna haunt him. Listen, I get it. If people are, you know, I read an article on the the athletes sin guys. Don't don't I'm paraphrasing. Don't Fred as much as your frightening because there's not a huge difference between one of the worst three records in the fourth. Worst record. Every percent counts when you are trying to pick yourself up off the mat, and you have an opportunity to make yourself from the third worst or fourth west worst team in the league right now record wise to a a player east. They could just speak right from the heart. And I just absolutely love. It don't you wish the rest of the so-called major sports had personalities like the NBA does right in the NBA. I mean, there's so many different reasons why the NBA's is absolutely on fire. But. And I liked to every couple of weeks. Just remind warriors fans to just appreciate this time right here this it's not going to be like this. Can you imagine? Like, if you were I don't know. Like like my little cousin. You know? Oh, hey, kid. Be are your favorite crap ass warriors team of all time or your favorite crap? Ass warriors player. How can we not forget the 7-foot-7 Manu bar? His kid is really hurt. Yeah. He's hurt. But yeah, he's he's terrific Nanu tied with actual talent. I mean, the kids going to be a first round pick. Just got a text in zero nine check it out at my gym two. Now, I just got to find the guy who's bagging on the janitor guy. So there's a picture from his gym locker that's out of order, and I came on the air. I don't remember what show it was. But I came on the air. I was working with Marcus. That's right. I was working on Fitz and Brooks, and there was a guy at my gym. There's there's like a hundred and sixty lockers in the twenty four hour, fitness, walnut creek and one of them was out of order. And there was just this annoying. Ask guy in there bitching at the janitor. Not like the maintenance guy, but just the guy that's in there like pick it up sweaty towels about the fact that one of the lockers was out of order, and he's like when are we going to get this fixed and like seriously there was like a hundred vacant lockers for him to choose from a hundred. Okay. So I might so I had you know, me I just can't stand on the sidelines here this I got to say something. So I'm like damn, bro. Like sounds like you've been sleep losing sleep over this. I'm like, I communist and now this where does it end? Right. Any kind of gamy? A dirty look, and I'm like, well like like take it up with management of it means that much to you. I'm like what you realize how many empty lockers? There are like pick your battles my man. And like he got and then after the guy left he's like, it's the principle. I'm like, no. That's what I'm saying. It's the principle like don't be rate this guy. Who cares you as long as you have a locker like what does it matter? I couldn't believe it this day and age everybody ought to know that we're running tape. But I think we got some on the guy right here. That's.

"donyell" Discussed on Monocle 24: The Briefing

"World's finest high end retailers Ottoman Ryan stopped by Madari house for chat with Monaco's Donyell Bauge ever since we were kids Ryan, I it's not that we were motivated by the money, but we were motivated, but coming up with ideas and trying to sell things as kids like we came up with these ideas to sell ringtones when we're in high school when I was in. Colleges t shirts and jeans. And so we're always trying to come up with creative ways to I guess, you could say make money, but it was more. So like start businesses. So that we could see the way the people reacting to things, and and create things that that people wanted like, I remember when we were doing ringtones in high school, we came up with this idea because we wanted ourselves. Keep in mind. This is back in two thousand three two thousand four two thousand five savoring towns now, and it's not like it's not the same as it was back then but people didn't have songs on their phones when their phones rang. And so now, I'm not saying we invented ringtones, but we came up with an idea to put him on next house and nobody in our neighborhood or area was doing. And so once we started doing it. It's like I want that. And so that was like the type of ideas, we weren't manning lemonade stands where we're always trying to come up with things that we could build like a community or culture around. That's how it really started. I did that you used to doing it because you wanted them yourselves softened, the Genesis of so many, amazing business ideas. And I guess kinda fed into the the research that you begun doing when you're at university on you started trying to develop the shoe that would actively in Hans butts lead performance in basketball. So maybe talk about how you what's on the how you integrates into your studies or whether it was like. A totally private project. So it was actually a little bit of mix of all of those things. So we spent off for years throughout college working on technology that would make jump higher, but we weren't actively telling people that's what we're doing. But we were spending countless hours in our dorm doing it. And I was actually in entrepeneurship program at USC, and I use APO's my business plan. And when I use it as my business plan. I said there was three things they were gonna make unique one we were going to create a shoot it instantly. Makes you jump higher to we were going to sell it at the time for three hundred dollars and three we were going to start by selling exclusively through our website. Those three things lead my professors to say, it would be a massive failure. Because at the time, no one had a shoe that was in say making you jump higher. No one had ever created that to no one had was selling basketball shoes at that price point and three commerce direct to consumer wasn't the same thing that is now back then you started wholesale. You started retail first off, and then you would build your. Website. And so I mean, the Genesis for the brain. And Adam always says this is that the best ideas don't come out of a want. They come out of a need Amin. Adam can talk about that more. But we really felt like we needed basketball shoes there. We didn't see make jump higher. It's exactly what you said. But to put in the effort and do everything you need to do to create something that's sustainable can become a long lasting brand or business. If you're just doing it because you want something maybe he might succeed. But for the most part, you have to feel like you personally need that. And there's basic human needs like food shelter water all of that stuff. But then in addition to that there's personal needs that you have that's other people don't, and it sounds crazy. But we legitimately felt like we needed to jump higher playing basketball and college word not six foot. Ten all I cared about was dunking. So I was like we have to figure out a way to do this. And so the only way we could have possibly worked as hard as we did for as long as we did on the front and not now, but on the front end was..
