"He bothers you. There's there's something about him that bothers. I really doesn't that was it. That was a joke about that was but everybody understood that. That comment was as bad as mike. Shanahan thing that donovan mcnabb was in cardiovascular. Health might run a two minutes is i mean. It's just ludicrous. So bother not out of that would not bother anybody so a couple of other quick did we. Did we exhaust. And i think that the delay game thing and even the delay of game thing with a timeout were two additions to this thing that we're really smart because i think all of that could have been in play. But here's what. I would have taken out of play. I would have taken out of play. The punting the ball i just i and again i'm conceding that it's not a no brainer in that. There's a reasonable argument to punt. There i am like people that say. No it's fourth-down analytics gametime. No no no no. It's context okay The and he's looking at it as have you seen my pass protection Also by the way that the only two times in the game that we force them to punt is when we pinned him super deep and maybe we can get this crowd. The smallest crowd in the history of opening day at our ed for washington football game. Maybe we can really get him into it. May we get a false start. And maybe they'll be back to the two yard line and who knows maybe we can block a punt. Get a safety. Then get the ball and have a field goal to win the game who knows but to me fourth and seven chance i what is the first first down. Take the clock cute. It depends on when you make out. It depends when you make charges. I know it depends on.

"To fight Donovan McNabb, he said on Shannon Sharpe's podcast. I'm dead serious on knock McNabb out, guys. There's money and celebrity boxing. I get it because that's the new thing, right? Was it? I don't know. Is it money? That's no, no, no, no key. That's that's the right question. There's some magic to matchmaking. Sometimes you can put two guys together and there's an urgency like you don't want to hear about it. You got to watch it while it's happening, for example, like Mike Tyson fights, Roy Jones, I don't care if they're 100, right. I had to watch it. I paid the money, and I watched it because they're different, though, Max, right? Because those are two former channel doubt. But you could, but but it's not okay, because right now we live in an age of social media where people are begging just to see entertainment value. Train wreck people. Yes. But our next people beyond that you're right, Keith. That is different. There used to be great fighters and everything. But there is something you can match two people up and you got to see it. And the question is, Does t O and McNabb have that? Does it have that thing like whatever you pass judgment on key? If I told you McNab and t O or about a fight, it's going to cost you 50 bucks. You're paying to watch it or not. Probably not. Jack. Probably not. I probably would friends are because I know them both. I know them both. And I understand what I understand. I'm on the fence about it. I don't know it because, like in the end, if you can't fight well enough to be worth watching. Every Eagle fan will buy this. Every Eagles fan would want to see that considering their history, of course, and that's what they like. You can buy $50 for Logan, Paul Like I watched this like I'm like, What am I have been watching? I'd much rather I'm not watching. That's you, though. Key. That's you know, keep them watching Logan. I watched Logan Paul, too. That's what I'm trying to. Thanks. Asked me if I would spend my 50 bucks. I'm not paying to see them fight. I just don't I have no interest in watching dollars of McNabb and T O get in. The ring is great. But I think there will be the question the whole question As to whether you make a fight, right is whether there are more people in the end who come at down on Keyshawn side like you know what? In the end, I'm not Paying to watch that or more people on your side. J was like, Yeah, I'm going to pay to watch like and then that determines whether it's worth it to do it or not, Right. People are watching the most random things on the Internet. Not for 50 bucks. You'd be surprised with people pay money for You do it without? You know, J. J J is right people. People pay money for some crazy stuff. There's no question about it. I get it. You got two former athletes that over the last I don't know, I would say, probably 18 years. They played together one year and over the last 18 years. And so there's this. It seemed one sided. It seemed like T O doesn't like Donovan. But I never hear Donovan say anything. I would I wouldn't. And this was T O saying it by the way Key. This was not Donovan McNabb saying anything was his teeth. That's what I'm saying. So the question I guess would be with Donovan. Sign up to fight he. Oh, that's the question. Who would you take Max? Who would you take? I'm taking Don t O. Looks like he's in good shape, though it don't matter, though. He looks like he could say in a good shape doesn't matter. I mean, he's obviously tall. He's long. He has distance on his jobs would have Donovan gets in the body. It depends who spent more time in the ring who got the muscle memory is what it comes down to always comes down to muscle memory with that crap, But I'm sure Donovan McNabb we go get into shape and do the whole But I don't even think Donovan mentally. But even like he ain't even processing it like that. Like I need to go fight T o. I don't even think Donovan is coming from that angle. That's the type of thing you want to stay away from. Unless you have to be speaking hypothetically. Come on, get into it. Hypothetically. I take you take t o based on the shades you've been around me for you know you, don't you? Max has been around me enough. I am not getting into that. I know. I do wonder, though, if you had to fight Warren Sapp, who would win? I think.

"Today as they wrap up the Syriza with Cleveland. I'm getting tired of seeing exactly sack. There's a third time the white taxi a chance of getting tired of being on the run up on meet him the first time they beat him up bad the first time a second time he pitched pretty well. It'll be Giolito who needs to step his game up. Although we won. They came the second one. I think so. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. The Bears won the draft. I guess I'm not a big greater but I know our next guest. Unfortunately, they usually ask him a J. D. We need grades. You've got a great how you think the Bears did. So we bring in Jeff Passan, or maybe pass fail. That'd be easier. Wouldn't wouldn't you have passed fail would be a lot easier than a B c or D That's like my college transcript right? There was credit. No credit. Gonna see they get the credit Go. Here's the good news, guys. Great to be with you on this beautiful Sunday here. They don't really ask us to give grades anymore. Good, which I think that kind of realized that, you know, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense because as Either as excited as a fan base might be the Sunday after the draft or as down and dejected. You just don't know for sure. But I'll tell you guys and you guys know this. I mean, the mood in town has changed so dramatically. From Thursday before the draft, and now I think the Bears had the right vision here. If they had to get the quarterback being resolved, they could not go into the season with just Dalton. Nick Foles and some nondescript third string quarterback. They had to do what they did, and not only that they get Justin Fields who potentially could be a star. They get Kevin Jenkins and round number two that they had. First round grade on and a lot of teams thought, you know, could be a first round talent, their offensive tackle, I would say right tackle, but Ryan Pace and Matt now you left that open last night. Then he could play either left or right, so we will see. So I think the plan Right now on paper looks really good. But now they have to execute it and guys to have to develop the quarterback something this franchise has never done. So, JD. How excited can we be without getting our you know, just being crestfallen if it doesn't happen, and you know how excited should we allow ourselves be at this point? I would. I would never tell someone not to be excited. I mean, that's such a down in the dumps type mentality, I think. Look, this is why I think you can feel good about the Justin Fields. Pick is because the guy was a star player. One of the best programs in the country, Playing against the best competition in the land, and in the big Games. The guy came up huge. I mean, I didn't dream this did I mean 63 touchdown passes to nine interceptions in two years at Ohio State? This isn't true Biscuit and I hate to bring up Mitch because it's really not a day to be. You know, chicken Mitch down or anything, but when you look at the college resonate, I'm a big college resume guy. I feel like if you play great football at great programs against great competition more times than not, that will follow you into the NFL. Robiskie only started one year in North Carolina. He sat the bench he had a very good year. Don't get me wrong. It's for North Carolina. At Ohio State, and, you know, he lost the Sun Bowl to Stanford, which wasn't his fault. But in played great. Justin feels his resume is completely different. So I would say that if you feel excited That's great. You should feel excited. But I do think that there has to be a little bit of that other guy sitting on your other shoulder saying, Look again. The plan looks great. Can they execute it? And can they get this quarterback playing the way? That he needs to play. That's the one caveat is, you know, in 70, plus years, they've never taken a guy like Justin Fields and turned him in a toy perennial Pro Bowl quarterback. If they could do that, the Bears were in great shape. We're hearing a lot of the well, you don't matter that he was in Kansas City, and he saw Patrick Mahomes come in, and they knew he knows exactly how they trade him. Is there anything to that? Or is that just a way to spit off? What what could or maybe should happen? Well, I think you can't discount the fact that I mean Nagy was part of a very successful system and Kansas City in Philadelphia. And he did work with a lot of great quarterback just the homes for that year, but also Alex Smith and Donovan McNabb. And I mean so. He was around and you read. I think that helps. Think now, though, And I think that nag you be the first to tell you this. I think he is relishing the idea of proving a lot of people wrong. I think everyone knows the offense has not been very good and it starts at the top. And when you're the head coach and you run the offense, of course you're going to take the blame. When it goes south. You're gonna take the credit when it goes. Goes the right way. I think he really is feeling. Um, eager to get this right on and I don't think they're going to start Justin Fields right away. I don't believe that. I think the plan is for adults play. Until Justin Fields is just so superior that they have no choice but to make that move. So I think Fred, it helps. But it doesn't mean that it's gonna automatically work again. I think Get the look at this it with an open mind here. I do think, though, and I'll say this guy's Bars quarterbacks going. I've never said this. I think there's a lot more to be excited about with the quarterback than there is to be apprehensive about. I really think there's a lot to work with with Justin feels that they could just If they can get this right? This guy has a chance to be a star here. So Win troop risky got thrown in. It's because Glennon as I remember, was just really stinking it up. Now we have Dalton and fools. Do you envision a knish you to where those two are not playing? Well, we have to throw fields in before we really should because I think that that could be a mistake with and that's what they want to avoid. They they want to avoid what happened in 2017. I mean, You go back to that that time and Travis he had to play. I mean, I was sitting there in Tampa even a game before they pulled Glennon and I was just yelling in the press box probably inappropriately. Like they got to get this guy out of here. I mean, he's terrible. I mean, he was terrible. It was terrible in training camp. He was terrible in the regular season. I don't believe Andy Dalton is a terrible quarterback. Don't get me wrong. No, he is not the franchise quarterback. He is not the quarterback of the future. Clearly, I believe there's a better chance that he plays at a service of a level. For a longer period of time that Mike Glennon did. They don't want fields. They have to play right away. If you're not ready. Do they go into the season with those quarterbacks is full. Still gonna be here? They're talking Fred. Like he's going to be here. Now. The money is interesting because they do have a lot of money. Committed at at that position, and Justin Fields is going to get a nice signing bonus of the 11th overall pick and Dalton's making 10 Million, you know, could make 13. But I doubt that. Get those incentives and then falls is under contract for some good money the way they have spoken about the quarterback room. They have included full guys in every every Every reference they make and falls is part of this, You know, plan they have in place where they've got Holes. They've got Dalton. You know, they've got all the former quarterbacks on the staff have got Maggie that got Bill Laser that got Jackie Filipo..
Rush Limbaugh, Right-Wing Radio Host, Dead at 70
"And to do of the passing of conservative radio host. Rush limbaugh a champion to conservatives though. He did not get through without lots of controversy over many years. Here's abc's jonathan karl here. We are in new york city. The rush limbaugh program as wildly successful and influential as he was divisive and controversial rush. Limbaugh was the godfather of the offend. Anyone apologize to know on politics that got donald trump elected. President limbaugh been suffering from lung cancer. His wife announced his death at the start of his radio. Show today i like you very much. Wish rush was behind this golden microphone right now. Limbaugh basically invented modern right-wing talk radio spawning an army of bombastic imitators. He boasted a fighting liberals with half his brain tied behind his back and built a massive audience. Twenty million at the peak of his popularity. He derided feminists as feminazi. And when law student sandra fluke testified that health coverage should include contraception limbaugh's attack on her was as savage as it was sexist. She must be paid to have sex. What does that make her. Makes you a slut right. Prostitute he said. Nfl quarterback donovan mcnabb was overrated. Because he was black. The media has been very desirous at a black quarterback do wealth and when barack obama became a national political figure limbaugh promoted the racist birther myth in two thousand and one almost entirely lost his hearing but he learned how to read lips and had special implants placed in his head allowing him to hear again. A couple of years later limbaugh knowledged. He was addicted to painkillers. I am addicted to prescription pain. "And Donovan McNabb are beefing again. Let's listen to Donovan McNabb and T O Z Beef. Take another turn. Around the city as we get a episode of untold stories here is T O when we have big name on here. I didn't know 15 years later that you guys and I reconciled. No, I've tried. He's phony. I tried to be cordial with situation. I thought we have squashed it. But then you guys didn't interview and then all this surface resurfaces again. Just listen to some of the comments and statements about I pretty much run the opportunity to run it back leading up to the Super Bowl. All the questions within the media they were getting. Round. Was I going to make it back for him to be rid of the quarterback? The face of the franchise? I felt like he could have answered those questions. I guess for whatever reason, the statement of or he didn't need me to win the Super Bowl or play in the Super Bowl. I felt that was a slight. Why would somebody lie? There are teammates that said he threw up in the huddle. Personally, I didn't see it, but there are guys and I know that our teammates that I've talked to recently You said that they saw him throw up in the hotel. I've talked to teammates since then, and know for fact that he was out the night before he was out the night before. Yeah, he was out the night before before the biggest game pretty much of all of our careers. There's people that saw him out the night before, said he was drinking, and I think that attributed to him throwing up in the huddle. He's obviously had a history of condition problems. So for me, you know, knowing all this information I felt like that was irresponsible. So there is T O Who is calling out McNabb. For going out drinking the night before the Super Bowl. That is a big people. That is a freaking big meatball to put out there. And It's a really If that is true, that is one of the most damning things you could say about a player, let alone a quarterback in NFL history. That the night before the biggest game of their lives, the quarterback would be out drinking and be hung over for a football game of that magnitude. That is an enormous black mark on a resume and a career. And I don't think you could be willy nilly about that. I don't think that that is the type of suggestion you just pop up on bleacher report. Untold stories. This is why Terrell Owens. Is such a complicated figure in NFL history. Have young cats that come at me. On Twitter that say to go was the best wide receiver ever. Randy Moss was the best wide receiver ever. Theo should have never been stiffed out of the Hall of Fame the first couple of years. And I say Kids. Sit down. Watch Jerry Rice highlights. Get back to me. Jerry Rice is the goat. He is the greatest wide receiver ever and perhaps the greatest football player ever and was not a compiler. Jerry Rice was as dominant As Randy Moss or T O were on their best days on his best days. You may just remember Jerry Rice for the end of his career with the Raiders, or Ah, year with the Seahawks. Jerry Rice in 1987 set the record for most touchdowns in a season by an NFL player in a strike shortened year. Jerry Rice is still the only man to have more than 200 receiving yards in a Super Bowl. He was at his peak. Absolutely unstoppable the same way Randy Moss and T O were He was unstoppable. And in his prime unguardable. Now he would make the spectacular look routine while T O and Randy Moss made the spectacular look spectacular. T. Oh, absolutely belong to the Hall of Fame. But T O also was a destructive force within locker rooms and this type of example. Illuminates how and why. I obviously don't know. If Donovan McNabb was drinking the night before Super Bowl, you would think that that type of thing comes out..

The State of 'The Black Quarterback': A Conversation with Donovan McNabb
"Over a decade ago my Business Partner Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon. I sat down to discuss. How can we stop? The labeling of black quarterbacks are dream was for some day they're not to be that description at all. I was blessed to sit down with Donovan. Mcnabb one of his men teas and proteges to discuss the status and progression of black quarterbacks in the NFL. This is entrepreneurs. The playbook hey I wanted to have a conversation about black quarterbacks and as you know it's been a big part of my career has warned being a client and then a partner of mine are dream. Ten years ago was that nobody would ever say black quarterback right but I think you know to this day that they don't use it as much but I see a hangover when I look at you not be in the hall of fame or the way that Warren's marketed because they don't want that story told about six years in Canada right right and then there's just an under Tony it's unintentional. It's like even with the metoo movement. Things go on aren't intentional. It's social development social. How can we help? Expediter accelerate people understanding the equality. That exists I you have to appreciate I don't think we're at a point where we appreciate the level of evolution. That's going on and I say that because he wanted to mention. Hey you know you were kind of guy that passed the torch in them like no. The torch was already late for Marlin Bristow Gilliam and dumb and James James Harris and those particular guys. It was then but it wasn't one that was accepted and then. I think when you mentioned the warnings and the Randall Donovan. Before I thought it was a warm place you played when you played but it was. It was kind of a it. Wasn't it wasn't appreciate and when? I say that you know it was the yard that Warren Password worn was Dan Marino. We'll be talking about how radio because his numbers are comparable today without the six years in candidate. But I I think what we're seeing now is. We're seeing people start to understand the level of talent ability. How cerebral these kids are. They can play from the pocket and their leaves. These are all things that when they mentioned about. You'll see that in in the list now and says it has it's literally presidential but but the thing is you have to be able to take a step back and say you know what these kids can play the quarterback position. And when you look at the collegiate ranks then more black quarterbacks in the collegiate good ones so again it goes back to happen understand. What the level we go through and give it to appreciate what we're seeing you know. I do allow entrepreneurs and I talked about patients who and the need to be offended or or resentful. And it's so interesting with all those guys that you talk to your mom. Briscoe someone that in California. We do a ton of work with for years trying to get that movie made by the way you know. It's a really good movie and a really good story but nobody's really resentful and angry or offended. How do you have the patience to wait for the reality to come about that? All the top quarterbacks are going to be evaluated by their talent. Well here we have old. School mentality shouts and tell you them telling evaluators who still have that. Well he's black quarterback what are we just evaluated his ability. How intelligent he is. The family background would become as he comes out. It's nothing else that you need to focus on focus on his color. You only public hair. You have to focus on how he wants. You know the the focus needs to be more of the position and that's what we're seeing we have. We have been after the American insult that people are afraid to talk about now. He will say well. We don't need talking about though. He's the third every America's worries. They play of great ones. The greatest african-american quarterback did win. The might. I've worked with before because the caregiver Steve but this could be an opportunity for a guy who people love is ability. Yeah and then. They want to question the thing about his character. What are you looking at? Are you looking more deep into trying to fight the negative or how good this really with? Doug flutie yeah who has a lot of similarities to a lot of running quarterback and I said if you were an African American would have been your chances even to play in the CFL for how old he is. He said there won't be a chance ever but stories like that people boss. Yeah well that's what I wanted in talking to people over and and it's important for us to focus on that because it's not gonNA stop. I mean we're looking at. We've looked at five afterward quarterback just in the playoffs alone. Yeah headed had a chance to have to play it in title game and then it's GonNa continue to grow where mean who's to say feels doesn't get drafted in the next year or two from Ohio state. Then I was talking about him. It's exciting right now. You've been one of those guys. They continue to grind the path. I'm on your team. As far as I'm Jay Hall of Famer right here. More people need to be aware of the issues that we're facing and this guy needs to be in the hall of fame and many others because we're building a pipeline hall of famers. It's a shame that Warren Moon American and I appreciate the respect. I love warranty. That's right I n there. I appreciate your insight and honesty thanksgiving.
Super Bowl XXXIX Recap: Patriots vs. Eagles
"The game we most fans remember. Andy Reid foremost is super bowl. Thirty nine and especially how the game finished up in the last six minutes. But let's set things up here just a little bit coming into Super Bowl all thirty nine. Both the Patriots and Eagles were the best teams in their conference. Both number one seeds both had tremendous seasons. The Patriots went fourteen and two that season season as they were looking for their third super bowl title in four years. Obviously Tom Brady was just beginning his run as the greatest quarterback of all time but he'd already established himself as a two time superbowl champion. And so the odds were stacked against the eagles a little bit in the Super Bowl although the eagles were far and away the best team team in the NFC that season having gone thirteen and three really they were essentially a one loss team. They lost to the Pittsburgh steelers in the middle of the season but they had clinched the number for one seat in the conference with two games left in the season and basically didn't play anybody in the final two games and that's why they went thirteen and three. The Eagles probably could have been a fifteen in one team if they'd actually played their starters in the final two games of the season but thirteen and three is nothing to sneeze at and it was certainly good enough to get them the number one seed in the playoffs The Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings rather handily in the NFC divisional round and then in the NFC championship game. As you heard me talk about on the last edition of BG and memories when we took a look back at the ten greatest moments in Eagles NFC championship game. History when they dispatch the Falcons pulling away in the second in half winning that game. Twenty seven to ten on New England also had a pretty easy time in the postseason. They won their divisional round game against the Indianapolis Colts. It's twenty two three and then they won the AFC title against the steelers. Forty one to twenty seven. Bill Belichick Charlie. Weis the offensive coordinator at that time for New England Oakland and on the side. Of course you had Andy Reid calling the plays and Jim Johnson The defensive coordinator at the Blitz Happy Defensive Coordinator one of the big story lines. The the biggest story line going into Super Bowl thirty nine was of course the health of terrel owens who was hurt against the Dallas cowboys a few weeks before the end of the season He had A. He broke his leg on a horse collar. Tackle that has now been deemed illegal because of that hit but as the game started getting closer it started to appear as though Teo Jio would be able to get on the field and Tara loans for the Eagles in two thousand and two thousand four was the difference. He took the eagles from being a very very good team. Urine in your out to an almost unbeatable team That season in fourteen games really was just thirteen games because he was hurt early in that game against the cowboys he caught seventy any seven passes for twelve hundred yards and fourteen touchdowns for the eagles that season for the first time in his career. Donovan mcnabb had a true number one receiver seaver to throw the ball to but the eagles offense performed quite well whether well without Tara loans in the two playoff games but to beat the Patriots it was clear the eagles goals. We're GONNA need him and he managed to get. He managed to get back in time six weeks after surgery to repair his broken right ankle. He was on the the field for the start of Super Bowl. Thirty nine Donovan. mcnabb had his best season. An Eagle in two thousand and four mostly because terrel owens was on the outside and he and mcnabb was outstanding in two playoff wins against the Vikings and the Falcons mcnabb had always struggled in those NFC title game but he played very well against Atlanta Atlanta. One or the other storylines that Freddie Mitchell was running his mouth. He came into the game talking a lot of smack about safety Rodney Harrison telling Harrison that he he was gonna have something for him and then in the game you know Freddie Mitchell caught one pass which late in the fourth quarter and Harrison had Two interceptions as we'll get to here in just Dominica and of course the Patriots were looking to officially become a dynasty. They had beaten the rams had upset. The Rams in the Super Bowl three years before they had failed to get back to the super bowl the year after that. But in two thousand three or just after the two thousand three season they beat the Carolina Panthers and one of the most underrated super bowls in NFL NFL history. And we're looking for their third title in four years. Andy Reid looking for that first title after finally getting the Eagles back to the Super Bowl for the first time since nineteen eighteen eighty so that was the setup as the teams gathered on the field in Jacksonville Florida for Super Bowl. "This story. Caught my eye. Donovan mcnabb. Former longtime Philadelphia Eagles quarterback had a Cup of coffee with the Redskins. And I think the Vikings to right corners. The vikings. He tells TMZ sports, of course that he is a hall of Famer quote, my number speak for itself by numbers are better than Troy Aikman, but he has Super Bowl rings and he played with hall of famers as well. I'm not saying something down. Mcnabb has had some issues away from the game since he retired Courtney. But is he a hall Famer I would say, yes, I think he was one of the best quarterbacks of his generation. I mean threw for two hundred thirty four touchdowns over thirty seven thousand yards. He played in the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl but played in the Super Bowl. All the years the eagles made the NFC championship game because I feel like the pro football hall of fame. Like at the end of the day. That's really all it is. It's a museum. I like museums. But to enjoy museum there has to be things in there for you to view. So like for me, it's not a big deal of someone is a borderline hall of Famer like you've always had this argument about ally. Manning hall of Famer is not a hall of Famer corny I'd say put him in put him in. So the guy is close to getting in eventually he should make it. And I just think McNabb. If you look at the overall body of work, I think is good enough to be in there. He made it to the NFC championship five times and. Yeah. Made it to the Super Bowl once it's not easy. I think people like way honestly, they way Super Bowl appearances in Super Bowl wins, probably a little bit more than they should if I if I can go out on a limb and say that I think, you know, the, the compares in here with Troy Aikman. He's really been a dog on a bone about Aikman probably because Troy got in on a first ballot hall of fame in two thousand six and their numbers are very similar, but it's not this whole TMZ thing in that he said that the other day, that's not the first time that that's happened which is interested in that, that's the comparison. And that's the level he wants to be judged at similar stats in the same number very similar number of games played McNabb. I mean didn't have Emmett Smith though in, in his backfield. So I mean he rushed for two thousand four hundred forty three yards more than Troy Aikman. And I think the interesting stat here is like you were talking about the level of play at which he did Edie Edie plate of game consistently. He's one of four. Quarterbacks with more than thirty thousand passing yards. Two hundred touchdown passes three thousand rushing yards in twenty rushing touchdowns. There's three other quarterbacks all three are in the hall of fame that have that Fran tarkenton John Elway and Steve Young. I mean is he a first ballot guy? Maybe I don't. But, but I mean there's just too much is put into that as well. I mean if as long as a guy eventually goes in, then I'm fine with that. I don't want someone waiting twenty five years. That's too long, but McNabb should go in, in, in a couple of years. And that's the end of it. I mean you can't you can't write the story. This is always the litmus test for me, Courtney like can you write the story of the NFL from this year to this year without mentioning this player? Can you talk about the NFL from two thousand to two thousand ten two thousand eleven maybe without without Donovan McNabb having a very prominent part of your? Story. And I think the answer to that is no. I think Donovan McNabb in that generation in his era was a player that played it a hall of fame level. So I don't know why I don't know why people would be up tight about letting him in. I think not wanting a Super Bowl was unfortunate. He did have the vomit on the field in Jacksonville out that was the first rule I ever covered thirty nine he didn't play great t the best player on the field that day for the eagles. But regardless, what he did for that. Franchise way different the NFL no matter what's happened since off the field. I think the guy should be in many brought through he kind of carried through a generation of quarterbacks that had that multi-facetted part of their game. The Michael vick's Donovan McNabb you're going to be putting all those guys in the same category. Just in terms of what they were able to do on the field that sometimes maybe we looked too much into statistics. Maybe we looked too much into, you know, individual Super Bowl wins when you're not looking at the supporting cast around. Him. I mean yeah he had a really a couple of really good teams in Philadelphia. There's no denying that. But to say that he had exactly what Troy Aikman did in all those years, that, that the Cowboys went to the Super Bowl in one off three of them in all three appearances. I just don't think that's a fair argument. It's, it's that was a different time. That was a different team. And I guess if he wants to look at traffic, men's numbers. That's cool. But Aikman, I mean, talk about a no brainer. I mean, coordinating the way he played in those Super Bowls members who were both he won for the Cowboys. You knew he was going in. So I don't think anyone needs to question the legitimacy of Troy Aikman's hall of fame credentials. I don't think that's what McNabb is getting at per se. But he definitely isn't portraying Aikman in the most positive light weight thoughts about him. Sure, why if they had some sort of beef that I wasn't aware of. I mean Detroit's say something about McNabb when he was playing for the Redskins and a FOX telecast that rubbed McNabb the wrong way. I, I dunno also too is, you know, look, I think at the end for McNabb it wasn't great. The Washington thing was kind of a disaster. Remember there was that whole contract fake contract, where it's ninety million dollar contract. And he turns out like four million was guaranteed or something like that, so yeah, it ended poorly for him. But for most players, it usually ends fairly poorly. There's very few guys that right out on the sun under the sunset like how Tom Brady is going to end his career probably. When I look at what, what did I'm sorry. What McNabb did with the eagles with Andy Reid all those NFC championship appearances? And if that's not a hall of fame, caliber type career, I'm not sure what is well, it's interesting to factor in the Aira he played in versus the era that Troy Aikman play it. And I think that that's. Huge thing that you have to consider when you're looking at who's a first ballot hall of Famer who's going to get into hall of fame period. So like think about the two thousands and the generation that he played in so you know, towards the end of his career as you were mentioning two thousand ten eleven somewhere around there, Tom Brady Peyton Manning, Ben Rothlisberger Philip rivers, Aaron Rodgers Matt Ryan all those guys have been instill are outside of Peyton Manning under center, planning quarterback do all of them deserve to get into the hall of fame. I'm not sure so I think that if you're and I mean, I know that you probably not going to judge this based on the next group to get in early guys that are still playing, but I think that you should to a degree I think that he should be judged amongst the guys that came before him. And the ones that are still playing the guys like Tom Brady was gonna, you know, it's an obvious one, but there's some of those other names, Philip rivers, Matt Ryan, do they deserve to be in the conversation, too. Philip rivers should be in the hall of fame. There's no doubt about it. Statistically speaking, I mean if they're all in that same category. I'm with you. I think that, you know honor the game games best, I think that sometimes we try to quantify this by making it so elite that, you know, it's not honoring guys who were just on the cusp of that. I mean if they helped write the story of the NFL in that area, they deserve to be in consideration. Absolutely more. On the NBA and the Eastern Conference finals coming up next Dickerson hood, this is ESPN radio.

Most home runs hit by a rook Mets rookie before the all-star break Pete, LA, don't call me. Mary could cheetah Alonzo. But the Mets are three under five hundred. We could have had rowdy two lenses to homerun night for the Blue Jays. He's all over the Red Sox ago. Yeah. But they're not in first place. Let's see what else take off counting. Your may victories, buddy. Let me just keep going here. The astros. I mean Verlinden was a story for the Astros last night, you had a no hitter going into the seventh. He's so damn good man. "That's ridiculous. Hey, it's unfortunate things happen. I know but then you went out and did what you did with Andy Reid for sure. What would you say is the pinnacle of your time in Philadelphia? Donovan, do you know what it was? It was finally getting over the hump and making. So, you know, we have battled so much in a championship innoc- championship when any NFC's and finally get over the hump that I think, is the was the pinnacle for all of us at that particular time when Andy redo for you what was your relationship loud, me to be myself, but many, so many coaches they draft their quarterbacks and make the robotic you know, this is the this is the way that it's been run. It's it's been proven that it works. We have to do this, this, this. No Andy allowed me to come in learning offense. And he said, hey, you know what are you comfortable? You understand what I want you to be you. If once they're throat, the ones not there twos. Not there threes, not they're usually likes. And as we continue to progress together mature the offense, then we can kind of get creative at times, you know, one two threes, not there. Hey, I move go back to three. See if one is available, and then we started to play a little playground football, who's the most talented guy you played with. Probably. I mean it's tough, you know, we had the bright, Westbrook's obviously, you know what? T O brought to us. We had some great office of and on the defensive end Brian Dawkins. Giovane Kerr's Br Jeremiah Trotter the list goes on. But I would just say it's hard to say but when you have a weapon behind you that not only can run the football pick up blitzes and a football on backfield. That's an added dimension that every quarterback would love to have. It's interesting. Donovan McNabb here on the rich Eisen show what you just described on any redid for you. It just seems like it's being replicated with Mahomes, he's, I mean when talk about guys don't with his left on about, no look throwing and just in the second season and his and his first full as the as a starter, right? Yes, it just seems that that's what McNabb is. I mean, that's what you know, read is seeing, and moans. And he's doing right now. It's funny you bring a Patrick Mahomes, because some of the things that he's, he's been doing at this particular point. He did a little bit Texas Tech, you know. Scrambles and on a sixty five seventy yards downfield right where everyone said, oh, that's just not football. Well, when you see it on the center stage and Tariq, he'll or Travis Kelsey, Kareem hunt. The list goes on guys that are on the other end of it. Now you start to appreciate his game a little bit more. Right. I mean, I think we've seen it so much from the Randall Cunningham, z- to, to Michael vick's the list goes on all the mobile quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn't himself. But with Aaron does it it's, it's it's beautiful. It's like poetry emotion. When, when Patrick does it it's like oddest playground football. No, it's the same thing. It just has a little bit more possess to it. So you live in Phoenix now. So you had a front row seat. Obviously to the contrary selection Zona cardinal. Do you think he's going to pan out in the NFL? I believe there's a three year process unless let's at three a process. Maybe Steve Cavs not there for the whole whole duration, but I think they have to build from within for him to be successful. That means up. Front have some have some pretty good blockers in passing game. And also be able to run the football with David Johnson. Give him a weapon on the outside. Besides layer fish, Joe. I love Larry. That's like my brother, my younger, brother. But at this point is almost like a turtle. Well, they on. They also moved him inside too. That's when you need someone on the outside Christian Kirk, and they did. They drafted a whole bunch of kids. We'll see which one might be able to take top here, but I mean you need to get a vet, who has proven that he can get off press coverage and create separation..

"I do love night games. The issue is, is, you know, the team that plays that game on the road. What if they've got the early window game the next week? It's not that bad. It's not that it's called in general. So at six thirty, I think it's going to add some interest, I think it will add some interest. So, and the Commissioner of the NFL spoke about tyreek hill for the first time since everything that went down during draft week and then what happened after draft week. It's just the only thing about it that I see is what this young child that's involved with the hills tyreek and his significant other his wife is just so bunkers and everything you're hearing, is that this kid is caught in the middle of the worst. He said, she said imaginable. That the video the audio of what tyreek hill to say was so horrible. And then what the. Wife in question is being accused of from tyreek hill side is so horrible. I've just feel so bad for this kid that the NFL says they're going to wait to speak to hill until the police finish their business because, as you know, the case has been reopened there. He's not even on the Commissioner's exempt list yet. I don't even know what the heck to think the only thing I'm thinking right now is the NFL should just get out of the business. The NFL front office needs to the next collective bargaining agreement. Get out of the business of figuring out what to just put it off on some independent committee that the league and the players association want to have done. That the players should have some sort of say here in what's going on, because I can't make heads or tails out of it, every single time, I think tyreek hill should be thrown out. I read something saying what's going on here? Everybody should read read up about it. Eight four four two four riches. The number two dollar here on the show, Chris, there's a whole bunch of other things for your news update, including drew Brees talking about his playing future. I got lots of news. Okay. And Donovan McNabb is just settled in on the rich Eisen show, green room couch. How are you five? You know what I'm doing standing taking a look at some of the apparel here. Let's go adds to short format. For me. It looks good on may question. We've got a basketball football pundits of people to t shirt Jay Glazer's MVP where there's a warrior, there's a way t shirt and in a baseball bat. I can deal with the rest of that. There's a little worried about the shark week deal. It's okay. Don't worry not only aggressive as you know, from all the years of me chatting with you Donovan. I don't buy you know, that us I'll still say what I could do. I love it. All right. We're going to get down of me here into a microphone in front of his face. Your beard is so long it is. "Have you do you think any differently than you did on draft night where on this podcast last week Kuyper who's been team? Daniel Jones is not as bad as you think. Saying I can't get my head around the idea that he goes at six now they've got him out there working PR teams got him before we could get him at seventeen. No, you feel any differently about that pick. I said all along that when we got closer you can't lose him. And we talked about trading up. Is there a trade grooten drilled into my head ever? You can't just trade up unless there's a partner and the Redskins at fifteen divisional rival. So they really believe they had to believe this at Daniel Jones as a franchise quarterback. Okay. That they can't live without his if you're seventeen you wait you're saying here like drew lock they could live without trulock lost your lock. So if you're lock hits, not a genius move. It's just that other teams pass them when they got him. Just like when Russell Wilson fell to Seattle third credit for taking them thirty one other teams didn't but it wasn't like they took him in the first round. So again with with this situation here, you know, I don't know. I think I think they've Gettleman felt like I cannot risk not having. Daniel Jones parts football team moving forward. And the only way I can guarantee that is taken at six seventeen would have been too risky. And if I don't care if you like him, you don't like what the more fans hate them. More chance he has to be successful. Okay. Remember when Ricky Williams over over Donovan McNabb. Ricky williams. Everybody's booing. Sometimes fans are wrong. Sometimes I remember Mike quick when it was very disappointed that Tuttle forehead. We're going way back on that. So you got to be fifty and above understand what I'm saying here. That's not what we're dealing with. But sometimes, but I always referred to the seventies. What can you do? But the answer your question, Chris I looking back on it. I don't have a problem with. Hey, todd. Here's the follow up question. Daniel Jones in two thousand nineteen. I came out of my ear. And I went to get hit my top top your hand. I the top of my hand on this thing. "He is one of the most passive aggressive thin-skinned athlete I've ever seen and that that a good job getting out and get it out of more power to Zach for doing it. But I just don't understand why. Donovan McNabb would even go there other than he feels worried nervous that he's going to be you served as the best ego quarterback over the last fifteen twenty twenty-five years, you certainly could go back to jaws when he went to the Super Bowl some people think Raila Cunningham, who's nickname at one point is was the ultimate weapon. Certainly Donovan had more postseason success than Randall had in his time in Philadelphia. He's the best quarterback the eagles a bad. But Carson Wentz could go by them. Like, he's standing still and Donovan have doesn't want to see that happen. So he decided throw verbal blast. Donovan at Carson Wentz this week. Didn't get where Donovan McNabb was coming from. I one quick call before we get out of dodge. We'll make it can't from South Carolina allocates. Hey, how's it going? Good. You pretty good got off work. Yeah. You were talking about your Rowsley in a hurry talked about Don Majerus, and we're talking about the raiders I doing done here. You know, been watching football. I believe I started watching. Oh, five insane. I mean, I, you know, a impact to the younger generation, but for the guys, you know, like you could have been around watching the watching all go down. It might just kind of seemed like like, I don't know. The putting on. I don't know. But finder, you know, intrigue the rest of the league, maybe date them. But I think as far as the Cottam Ersan goes, I know Josh Rosen. I really don't expect good. I think he could be dated and Murray my longer because when it comes to run quarterbacks. Would it be shown in the past fifteen years other than Cameron Russell Wilson? Yeah. Other then we'll they don't count. I mean, they obviously do count. But I mean, those guys were, you know, getting rational, I feel like maybe Michael Vick. But we haven't seen one him and Sam and Kyle Mario by the way to a ton of touchdown pass. What he was at Oklahoma case you didn't pick up on that running is a big part of his game. But it's not the only part of his game. And oh, I definitely like Kyla Murray? Chance to be a better all around winning quarterback in the NFL than Josh Rosen. Thanks to hit can Tyler on the other side of the glass. I'll be back for Sunday action.

"Donovan McNabb will join us. We'll get his opinions on most of the quarterbacks. We'll try to squeeze. It has been as we came to the National Football League. We'll talk a little Russell Wilson contract extension. What's going on with Big, Ben? And Aaron Rodgers will Cuyler Murray the number one overall pick in the draft. And also get his thoughts on one of his former teams in the ES eagles. Donovan McNabb coming up in fifty five minutes. I have to talk some baseball though, right now. And something annoyed me from this past week. We saw a backflip happen and know before you call in at eight five five two one two four CBS and see how are you doing? But the bat flip I'm not going with the foot. I love the bat flip baseball should embrace entertainment excitement personality and the bat foot. I'm annoyed with the response to the bat foot where a pitcher. Brad Keller elects to throw at Tim Anderson. If you don't wanna player to bat foot. I've said this a thousand times. Here's an idea. Don't let him hit the home run. If you don't want someone to celebrate. If you find it obnoxious, if you find that he's showing you up when he throws the back. And show some emotion don't allow the home run. And then if you strike out, Tim Anderson. You can celebrate as well. You could scream at Tim Anderson. You could fist pump do whatever you want. To me, though, it's any Arctic. To throw at someone because you're annoyed that they did a backflip foot because they took you yard. And I get it old school baseball. People are going to say, well, it's supposed to be. Sorry. It's why the sports fading. It's why it's not as popular as it. Once was because the NBA there's excitement even though I opened up a show tonight. Tell you the game stink. There's at least some excitement, and that's in the way that the players do market themselves. You want to look at social media. How big social media's well players are smart. They're so active on social media. You can easily recognize them because of their social media presence. And oh, yeah. The gifts. Well, you see Steph curry when he puts up a shot. He's so confident turns around and starts walking the other way gif young people enjoy that young people see that they re tweet it. It goes viral. Russell Westbrook staring someone down it goes viral. Now the product in the first round may be boring, but they find a way to cause some type drama and some type of entertainment. If you want to take a look at the NFL, and they add a problem for a while embracing celebrations. They thought they got out of hand when I was going up by love Tarallo loans. Love terror loans at the celebrations love Chatto, Cinco with the celebrations. Love. Randy moss with the celebrations love Joe horn. Taking the cell phone out of the goalpost and celebrating its social media was as important as it was. And if it was around when those things were happening into level that it is today. Those that have been viral gifts now in football. There's viral gifts on touchdown celebrations. A lot of them now team oriented now. So in the eagles won the Super Bowl. They did a lot of team celebrations. Rob gronkowski. The gronk spike. There's personality with NBA stars. There's personality with NFL stars..

"What is happening tonight? Not a mooch McMahon. You pick the Rams to make the Super Bowl. I picked the Rams, but you're going with the Rams over Tom Brady patriots. Are you making that take? Because you're a jets fan. I'm making that because the eagles did what they did last year. All say, here's how great Tom Brady is TB twelve he's the go. He's better than Montana and everything. And then so you're still going with the Rams you actually believe that Tom Brady and the patriots lose back to back super pulse. Yes. I he's not gonna lose back. We'll see that's the beauty of their play the game. And then next weekend. You can call me and go Jodi, you know, you just made that pick your guy you couldn't pick. You couldn't bring yourself to pick Tom Brady. And I'll to you that that's not the case. Yeah. I picked the Rams to beat the patriots when they played some seventeen years ago. Correct. But when the patriots went back to the Super Bowl and played the Panthers I picked the patriots when the patriots lost to the giants both times. Not once twice. I picked the patriots wouldn't have patriots eagles. The last time. I picked the patriots. Eagles. I didn't think. Donovan McNabb could get the up and over the top. Now last year, I correctly predict the eagles because I thought the eagles Ron it's unbelievable role gun thirteen and basically they were thirteen and two because they didn't even try nearly it's game of the season and had beaten the falcons and in Christ the Vikings the week before I thought they were coming in massively. Underrated. I thought they could pull the upset and I was right. So there have been Super Bowls have absolutely picked the patriots. This is not one of them. My jet. Random does not interfere with my objective predictions in the big game. Mac, man. You're just like Brandon Turney. You guys are both yet fans. He was whining when he first started doing this show this week from Atlanta about how he could do the show because you had a patriots helmet of product. Yep. That's a joke. You guys all say the top radius this and that, blah, blah, and all this type of stuff, but then you guys. Oh, by the way, I'm going to pick the Rams because I think the Rams are actually going to beat the patriots. That's as he pick. Okay. You call it. Get caught me when I picked the eagles last year gained great. I heard you. I I don't care about last year. Because it doesn't make that hold up your points. You always say though, you last year is last year. We're talking about now to break we're talking about tomorrow. And I'm telling you the Rams can win a game. It's a toss up. It's a toss up game. Either team could win it the point spread opened it pick me at Peckham. The only reason it's not a pick them is because the patriots to the patriots. And by the way, we found out that Super Bowl experience win. It didn't win last year. When you're handicapping today. You do look at the warming. It's the most important thing is what you did two weeks ago and then slightly less important is three weeks ago and any entire regular season and the new season before that. And the verdict you get away from the day, the less important state is. But it doesn't mean anything and the fact that the patriots been to nine Super Bowls while judging their overall accomplishment is gigantic, and that's why they are arguably the best dynasty in the history of the National Football League. But last year they had that same advantage over the eagles, and they couldn't get it done. So yes, in what way did the patriots outperformed the Rams this year Rams with thirteen and three. The patriots were eleven and five the Rams easily handled the Cowboys in the first game of the playoffs. The patriots easily handled the chargers in in their first game in the playoffs. And the patriots beat the chiefs in overtime last week. The Rams beat the saints in overtime on the road last week. But because that one rabbi missed that one call that's why everyone says Ramtane earning even be in a Super Bowl. They're not really a Super Bowl team. That's why the patriots are gonna win. The Rams weren't good enough were saints had the chance to take the game. Even after they had picked out of their pocket by that referee. They had Kansas to pick it right back. And they couldn't the ramp didn't allow them to tarry from Nashville up on CBS sports radio. Hey tear. What's up, Jodi? So we know the Rams have got the pressure Brady or if they have no chance so you'll wind up Donald and sue both of the tackle. When the ball is snapped. They're going to occupy both guards in the center walkie at you flits between those two animals or on either side. I don't know why Brady up the metal. If you're sending those two hall of famers and blitz right up the good that you couldn't get to. Does. He throws the ball that quick. He's pretty damn quick. He's the quickest he's the quickest gun in the National Football League. He gets rid of it. It snapped to release his fastest in the entire NFL. The only way you do it. And I think wait or call a Blitzer to over the game not many because you don't want to pay the price because if you had a Ataman dead in stride over the top of the linebackers, and he beats the one guy he's got a beat and eight yard pants becomes a fifty. Yard touchdown. And you don't want that optimal. So I don't think they're going to blit much but a middle blitz by the linebacker might not be a bad way to go. I think you're onto something there. I'm just telling you don't expect a lot of it once maybe twice in the game. And you got to disguise it. Well, you gotta hide it. Well, you gotta time it perfectly and Philips is a pretty good guy to put your faith in that. He calls it at just the right time because it could be a big reward. But it also could be a big loss. It's hard to get to and from the outside. It takes too long for an outside to get to. Agreed. That's why you'll have to hope that sewer Donald. And here's what they need to do. And both of those guys are okay at this. Neither one of them is great at it. Which you would find hard to believe because Donald is such a good player. A tipped ball can be just as good. Sax are great. 'cause it gets you behind the change. It gets the crowd behind you. But a tipped ball can be picked. Lot of times tip all just falls incomplete. Sometimes even a tipped ball ends up being caught. But the possibility of a tip ball interception could be used and that's what I'm banking on tomorrow. And a key to lead pick. Maybe even taking it to the house. Environ- Donald gets his finger on it. I'm perfectly fine with that John from missouris up on CBS sports radio. John. Oh. I just don't know how each spectrum get the Brady with this point three second relief when he's doing his MC hammer only goes back. Where they get. On the balls gone. And you guys covered a lot of poets appeared on okay? I just here. Rams people calling up a lot of patriots. Can you give me an insight to why that is why we get more patriot calls than ram calls? Yeah. Really? Oh, that's the easiest thanks for calling in easy's question. I've and all night there are more patriot fans in Iran bands, the ram just went back out to LA if you watched any of the ram games this year. Have the crowd is rooting for the other team when they played the Packers. I'm gonna say week nine or ten it was past the midway point of the season. But it wasn't late in the year. So weak nine or ten maybe week eleven I guarantee you sixty percent of the fans were backup fans most of them Angelinos, they didn't come in from Milwaukee to get on a plane from Milwaukee in. No they're in town. And near Packer fans. Why hasn't been there for two decades? So they all off the ram bandwagon and said, we gotta find ourselves another team. Oh, Brett, barb. Oh Aaron Rodgers. Oh cheeseheads. Let's become Packer fans. And they did New England their fans forever. Certainly during the Brady Bill, Jack. The only thing they've done is add to a decent fan base to begin with because Boston's as good as sports down as it is. And yeah, they become one of those teams because they've had enough success that you can say. They're a nation more so Red Sox nation from Boston. But there is patriot nation as well because. Yeah, they got bands outside of Boston too. So that's why you're getting more patriot called more patriot question more patriot defense for those who are picking against them like me, it's because they just have a bigger fan base than the Rams. Pretty simple. As a matter of fact, John Cooper bowl starts on their Twitter site. Yeah. You got their Hollywood bigshots jumping on the bandwagon. All well. That's me. You you got that read one hundred percent, right? Hollywood band bandwagon jumping fans that doesn't make him real ram fans. They're not gonna pick up the phone. Call CBS sports radio if they're Hollywood bandwagon ram fans. They're just doing it because it's cool in LA in Hollywood. So they'll do it now become fans, and guess what? If the Rams lose a Dell. Dell forget about the Rams way past when training camp opens wake them up in like mid September. When the season gets underway again way patriot fans handle their business Nick from Dallas up on CBS sports radio. Hey, nick. Hey, what's up thirty on the call, and defend you a little bit here man with that that one caller talking about with the jet. I kinda hypocritical. I think for the guy to say that you know, he goes, I guess he's a patriots fan. No. He's not a patriot fans at San Francisco fan. I know it brought fact, but he got he likes Brady Brady's from the bay area, but he gloved Montana more. So he doesn't like it. When I call Brady the greatest of all time at the end of the day Brady is the greatest all time. I think and I'm a Dallas cowboy fan, you know, we we've got an by the by the ramp to put up a really at the end of the day for me, man. It's like I feel like in this game. Particularly if you're picking Durant. It's because I honestly take your better team. I don't think the patriots are who they were. You know, even last year, they kinda showed it and even this year. I think for this particular game, you know, I I don't I don't think that they're they are who they used to Tom Brady bad. You know, I think we can all agree on that both of us. But we also got to remember that you know, it takes a team here. And Tom Brady is the best doesn't necessarily mean. They're going to beat the Rams. So I think the Rams are better team. You picking the Rams I think it's a logical pit. The better pick. If anybody is picking XL. That for a minute. I think that you, you know, think you do a great job. And I think you gotta pick. Thank you. I appreciate that enjoyed again. Give me a buzz back tomorrow before the game. If you wanna talk about it some more I clock is ticking. I mentioned I had a couple of good tweets a tough decision. The pick out the MAC daddy tweeted today, but that's one kind of hit home from William undescored nine thousand nine hundred eighty five maybe that's the year of his birth accurately McMahon. Tomorrow's game with Boston and LA having played in the World Series is the first time since nineteen sixty nine the two cities teams in the NFL and baseball had been matched up for the championship in the same twelve month. Period. Of course, I wasn't around yet in one thousand nine hundred sixty nine, but I think you know, it was none other than. Yes. Baltimore and New York. The sixty eighth season into the sixty nine Super Bowl was the colts in jets because upset in the history of the National Football League with the jets beating the colts. And then later that year sixty nine in October the miracle Mets beat the Baltimore Orioles. And I always a we lag growing up in New York at the time. So thanks for taking me down.

"You still talk know we actually have. I was a big advocate for him getting into the hall of fame. And I know that there were some things that were said based upon my appreciation for him as a player that I don't know if it's swayed anything, but it just showed support from a former teammate that had a lot of time with the guy, and we have sets connected, and there's a chance he'll be involved with the freedom football league as well. I was actually an advocate for him to be selected on his first. I you know, I did a lot of his games as broadcaster. Sure. What all the nonsense aside? The guy could play football without a doubt. Right. He wasn't beast on the field. But I think he also brought a lot of teammates the wrong way. And like what he did to Donovan McNabb and a Super Bowl to me at that Rabih the wrong way as a former quarterback. I mean the guys trying to damage to football game. And you're gonna call them out and you've got to separate them. And he did a lot of those crazy things to some of his other quarterback. So I I still think that he should have been first ballot. But I also was very disappointed that it didn't show up and accept it. Like everybody else. Sure, I, you know. And I think that's as former players like we talked about four inches. We have a certain appreciation and respect for the game that we would handle it a certain way not everybody has that same approach or demeanor in in. So he handled it the way that he wanted to obviously different very different talking to Jeff Garcia on the fan and CBS sports network. So tell me about CBD I've been hearing a lot about. The oil and people using. And I know that's part of the reason why you're here guardian athletic dot com and drink is got CBD in it. But it's funny. There's a lot of people in three different people within the same week came up to means it have you ever heard of CD oil, and what it can do for you. Because I just started using it. So it is now a thing that's in common on. So tell us what we don't. So there's a lot of benefits to the CD and our is coming from hip products. So it doesn't.

"Wellard by me nicely done. You're the silver medallist here. Oh, without a doubt. He got. With with Andy Reid and such. I didn't do that. And we love Stu gods. And we'll have this with him when he joins us in about thirty minutes, or so, but let's just go through the list of things he said there did Alex Smith win. Andy Reid games ordered. Andy Reid win Alex Smith game. Yeah. And and the quarterback whisper, which he says, Andy Reid isn't. Going to have to disagree with him on that one here the list of quarterbacks that have had their best years with Andy Reid as their head coach Donovan McNabb. Kevin cobb. Michael vick. Alex Smith, and some guy you may have heard of name hall of Famer Patrick Mahomes. Donna Hall of Famer he is the enemy of the he and Bruce Arians are the only true quarterback whispers. There are north Turner is on that list as well. But if you ask me to name, the guys who I have the most faith in you bring him in and you work with this guy. You're going to have a productive season a quarterback. It's Andy Reid, and it's Bruce Arians and north Turner is the Bronx. It's still amazed me I'm not gonna lie in Philadelphia where I played for buddy. Ryan and buddy was beloved by listen, that's a blue collar city, and we played a rough and tough style of football. I get why why why the fans kinda Doug our style of play. Or we never one op playoff game under buddy. Ryan Andy Reid was winning in playoff games left. And right. Never won a Super Bowl. Correct. Was getting the NFC Tyler gains got to the Super Bowl. One time was actually getting close. And I mean, they couldn't get them out of town fast enough that always was amazing to me because I think Annie's one heck of a coach. And what he's showing what he's doing with this offense and incorporating what Patrick Mahomes has done in college. I into the NFL, which we see more and more. I think has obviously been fantastic. It makes people like me sound ridiculous unless we don't we don't hit all of our things right now. But I truly meant everything I said early on Alex Smith had one of his best years. He was never going to be his best nearby flight his best year. He's never going to be, you know, the monster numbers guy, but he led a team incredibly well and to just to discard him and put it in the hands of guy who had one start. And basically, I know you had all the practice and everything to look at him and just put all your eggs in that basket. I thought was a mistake. But boy, oh, boy, I could not have been more wrong about listen. We talked to Andy reducing the year last year and about how this kid had looked in practice and how as they were at his anticipation and what he's done, and it has all come to fruition. All of it has come to fruition right now. So let me ask you a question because we know Sean, Sean Payton is going. A legend in New Orleans. No matter what happens going forward because listen partied with the Lombardi. Bill Belichick is the gold standard going forward. Who do you think solidifies themselves more? Should they go on to win the Super Bowl? Would it be Andy Reid and his entire long career has now validated or Sean McVay from going from where they were in two thousand sixteen to two years or three years later winning a super Andy Reid for sure. I mean, Andy Reid he's been doing this way longer than Sean McVay and Andy Reid has gotten close, but no cigar, right? And that's been the knock on him as he can't get the win the big one. So I think for him because I think he is one of the great coaches out there to put that on his resume to say, you know, he coached and CEO the team. Holding up the Lombardi trophy at the end of the year. I I completely agree with you. And the funny thing is you're right. They did run him out of Philadelphia. They did that take off of the Taylor SWIFT's on. We're never getting back together. How did that thing? We are never ever going to inhumane. I mean, which was a little disrespectful. And then the funny thing is they brought in chip Kelly that didn't work then, you know, they brought back to make it work. Andy Reid light Doug Peterson. Yeah. Where did he come from? Andy Reid staff. He incorporated a lot of what Andy Reid did. And he brought with him from Kansas City back to Philadelphia. So really you did with Andy it was just a different person sort of embodying all the things that Andy retarded with dog. You see a major turnaround Chicago with another anti die coaching trees. Pretty good man is it's pretty good. So there's just so much on the line here going forward. But I mean, you you have to even even admit what Mahomes did surpass any even if you thought it was a good move to. Thank you. It was going to be five even Louis Riddick who is on his bandwagon. More than anybody talked about three thousand thirty you know as far as yards and touchdowns. Nobody saw this common. Nobody I mean, I can't believe anybody saw fifty five thousand and fifty company think and I mean, I think originally Louis verdicts prediction was like thirty touchdowns and thirty five hundred yards. Yeah. He just it by twenty and fifteen hundred yards. It's absolutely ridiculous. By the way. "To make any type halftime two jets. History as. He lost three. You couldn't be more wrong. He's little what you're talking about. Okay. You really don't. Well. It's the Super Bowl by three points as quarterbacks with Donovan McNabb. I mean that was just quarterback. He's supposed to win championships with McNabb. I mean, come on. Now. Tom Brady lost the Super Bowl by three points. You know, cow is terrible coach, I Gotcha. Cows attell because cow I think had a winning record is the playoff coach lost some bad games. But you also want to Super Bowl. So you don't want. Not every coach is going to win every playoff game. Not every coach is gonna win every single playoff game. Andy's lost a lot of heartbreaking games. He has. And he's blowing a couple of big leads and games. And you think that's because he didn't make halftime adjustments. So let me get straight. He prepared his team to get an eighteen point lead. But then he couldn't he didn't know how to adjust to the fact that team came back on him. But he knew how to get him in eighteen point lead in the game. It's almost foolhardy. Isn't it? He knew he knew how to get anything we leave. But he couldn't prevent him to finish the game off after that. Because it just that's what happened there justed. I mean, you gotta take games one at a time we talking about playoff careers guys have bad playoff careers until they don't I sat here and took call after call for people killing. Killing the head coach at Villanova killing him. Play after play year if the can't coach can coach a big game can't coach when the games on the line from this pressure. Can't do that. Now, he's won two championships necessarily since last three is now, he's the toast of America as a college basketball coach. Things change if Andy Reid runs the table this year. Okay. Then people will be like, Aw, Andy Reid. He's got this. He's that he's innovated. He's that's what happens. One one run changes everything he has had some brutal losses. I'll be the first to admit it. But do you think Andy Reid doesn't know what he's doing one two hundred football games? So what he's good in the regular season. He wins all these division titles. But he gets dumb in the postseason. You know, sometimes you just you know, sometimes things just don't bounce your way. You know? And he's had a lot of weird things happened to him in the playoff games. You really has said some strange games. Some really strange games. And I'll tell you this year he's gotten very unlucky. Again. He's got a hilarious number six seed coming in this building. I mean, I actually think the other teams the better team right now. So if the colts win, and I think that any there's something wrong. No, I think right now the colts have a better team than they do. Back after this..
NFL Draft Quarterback Class: The Holes and the Hype
"It's a cat and mouse game here so all the stuff that you're hearing about who teams like and whatnot you take it with a grain of salt but i do think the new york giants there with the second pick really are going to dictate a lot of what happens for the rest of this first room by let's see what you guys think eighty eight say espn eight seven to nine three seven seven six started off with joey he's calling from la joe you're on espn radio how were you and doing great and how about yourself joe i'm doing outstanding what's on your mind today and there's a lot of the nfl draft but i want to begin by asking you have you seen so much buildup leading up to a draft i it's this is the most i've seen since two thousand four with ally manning not wanting to go to geico well what was the common denominator with two thousand and four in two thousand eighteen is that you had a few quarterbacks who will figure to go here early on in the draft remember in oh four yet three quarterbacks going the top ten now the interesting thing about it though here is i'm not going to sit here and try to convince you that josh allen josh rosen sam darnold if indeed those of the three guys off the board i in any particular order i'm not going to sit here and try to convince you that those three guys are going to the hall of fame just like alive rivers and ben rothlisberger are going to be in one day i mean this end up this could be the same disaster as when we had tim couch donovan mcnabb and akili smith go one two three it might end up being that way but i do think that there's a couple of these guys who figure to have good careers and that's why you have the nation when you have the quarterback and when you have as many of them as you have figuring to go early on here in two thousand eighteen that's where all this buildup comes from.
