Last night, a crazy ending in the Monday Night Football contest with the Seahawks beating the visiting Broncos buy one in Russell Wilson's return to Seattle. Just how crazy was it? Well, I'll let my friend rob wood fork explain. Okay, let me get this straight, Denver. You give up a record hall of picks and players to get Russell Wilson, then in his very first game. In his old stomping grounds, in prime time, with the game on the line, you try a 64 yard field goal with Brandon McManus. Maybe the Broncos should have given all those picks to Baltimore for Justin Tucker instead. Now you think rob feels about that, man. There you go. And guess what? The field goal was no good. Russell Wilson said afterwards it was the right call. I don't know if you really believe that or not. But the Seahawks beat the Broncos in his return. "More than a dozen people have been subpoenaed by the Justice Department in the last week in relation to the probe into efforts by former president Donald Trump and others to overturn the results of the 2020 election as well as last year's attack on the capital. That's what people familiar with what's happening till The New York Times this week. One of the reporters who broke the story is Glenn thrush, she covers the Department of Justice for the times. A lot of people have been subpoenaed earlier this week. We reported that Stephen Miller, most people know him as president Trump's principal immigration adviser, was subpoenaed in connection with this pack that former president Trump has really used as his main cash conduit since leaving office. This can get very confusing because this is very much distinct, completely separate from the investigation into the Mar-a-Lago documents. This has to do with the fake electors plot. This notion of going from state to state and getting electors to overturn the results of the election in places like Pennsylvania and Michigan and Georgia, something that was not successful, something that was spearheaded by people like Rudy Giuliani. And one of the people who got a subpoena was Rudy Giuliani's former police commissioner Bernie Carrick, who was kind of his right hand man. But the two ones that really pop out from this particular batch. Not only because they got subpoenas, but because they had their phones seized for evidence, or Boris Epstein, a former White House staffer and legal adviser to the president, who's really almost kind of quarterbacked his legal response to a lot of these challenges. And Mike Roman, who was one of the former president's top campaign strategists in 2020. It's getting a lot closer to Trump. How significant is the timing of all of this? That is a question that's difficult to answer, but we can look at the circumstance evidence. There is a general practice. It is not a formal is not encoded in law or even regulation that when you're dealing with politicians and you're doing investigations public integrity, fraud, things of that nature. You kind of turn off the tap 60 days before the election. Most of this stuff came out last Wednesday and last Thursday, wouldn't you know it, it's almost exactly 60 days before the election. So it appears that Justice Department was sort of packing this all together and launching it so that they did not have too many of these subpoenas being issued sort of within the red zone of the midterms. The extraordinary thing that's going on here and everything with former president Trump is extraordinary right. But the notion that we have these two extremely powerful investigations that are taking place one on the Mar-a-Lago documents one on January 6th, one would be tough enough for him to deal with. Imagine having to cope with two. That's Glenn thrush, who covers the Department of Justice for The New York Times and the conversation with our Michelle bash. "And we all know that they've been talking about how much they like Bryan Hayes, So I'm not that shocked. I mean, I think that you know, we'll see how it goes Well in the last years often survive was very good by the end. You know, they like the athleticism here, maybe maybe a little less of the power department overall, but Hey, I mean, so far, so good. That was that was a great performance. One of the best opening performance is certainly from Michigan Offensive lineman. I remember just not a lot of stuff to nitpick about. You know, everything was on the money to calls right there going the right way at all. It all made sense. So you know, a plus in Game one, and we'll see what happens again to well, Let's talk about the defence Nick. They had the Michigan had they did a good job, but I mean, Minnesota had a guy. I mean, their guy ran for 142 yards, they they were able to run up the middle. They were able to move the ball. They from a from a passing situation. They were mean Michigan very, very impressed with The secondary as young as those young men were even with Jackson. Hell getting hurt early, and I mean late in this first half, they came out. They kept playing. No one. No one freaked out. They came in German green played his butt off. I'm impressed with him. Vincent. Great is what we thought he is. He is He's in He's in the league of becoming, and all in all conference player. You know, it's something even better than that. But I mean, I thought my grown with with the hand injury that kind of slowed him down and then the emerging star in Mike Mike Mike Barrett. Mean that young man laid his butt off. Hey, I just like because he's number 23. That's what I like Tomas. Defensively, their decompress running back, Jamie. Exactly. I mean, I think I would also get credited Don brown. He did a nice job. I thought of You know, And they've done this in years past. You know what these offenses that like the track on the sideline and switch out of something Michigan often as you know, a switch right back that helps it out. I think they did a good job with that. Make sure that you know Bateman was bracketed pretty well, making sure that they were active up front. It just kind of doing the things they do best, which is, you know, bring pressure and be active in the front seven. That's what you know, all fails. If you have questions about guys in the back end, that's fine. But the front could help you out. And that's What we saw. You know, Minnesota really struggled to block mission at the point of attack, especially in passing situations, and I think that's going to be a pretty paint. Agent Hart. Agent Hutchinson. There are good You know? Ah, because eventually duo as you'll find, you know Michael Barrett. Is a guy that you know, I think a lot of us who follow Michigan football closely last couple years been talking about a lot because they've been very, very excited about him. He was Bit of a project player and that he was switching positions and growing into a new role. But you could see the athleticism. I mean, it's also I mean, it's ridiculous disguise for five Ah 45 sprinter whose 242 £31 who can hit good football instinct, a good competitor. All these things. I think they're really going to like what he turns into. Overall, there were some issues. I think you know, Minnesota is a good football team as well. And you know they were able to get some good stuff up. You know some of the some of the cuts out wide, you know, I think Michigan was a little wobbly in some of its run fit. It looked like a times in the second level. Some of the guys coming down from the back end as well. You know, when Dex and Hill goes out of the game, I think you saw, you know, maybe the drop off there a little bit. So some of that is Minnesota being a good team, and some of them may be having a couple issues, but nothing Nothing that was so alarming. I think, In fact, you know the production is going to get from Donovan Jeter was solid. They talked about him being ready to go that that panned out as well. So You know, overall solid, You know, not not terrific, but at the same time, I think this is the idea here. You know, when Minnesota starts moving the ball in the second half and finding some answers, you know good teams do in 2020. None of it mattered because everything that the ball back they walked down the field scored. That's what an offense that can score quick. It is very difficult to defend. Could do for you. Even if your defense has a rough day or even a little bit of an off day. Your offense has enough to keep you in the game. Get out in front. And make sure you get the win. And that's what that's what football is. Now. It's not the other way. You can't expect to go in there and just completely manhandled someone defensively and win a game. 10 to 3. This doesn't work so No, listen plan was exactly what it needed to be. I thought they were prepared across the board. Very well. Good game plans Well coached. I said this problem. You guys in some point, you know this season, I thought this weird shortened year. With all the preseason being trunk like that was going to tell us, you know a lot about which teams had approaching steps that airfield with good teachers and which teams have steps that are filled with good talkers. And he used to get so far proven that they've got a lot of good teachers because that was pretty well, pretty well prepared team overall. Well, Nick. The other side is the team up and over the road that'll be coming in this Saturday with with Mel Tucker, and I know that that really look like a disaster. I know they they come out there's turning the ball over left and right, but You know, even though they did that, even though the D'Antonio left him in a spot, and even though there was no spring, and even though it's a new staff, man, that was a complete and total disaster, like how do you see that? And you? You think that is Who? Michigan State iss or you see, like, okay, if they just get up these turnovers, you know, they did move the ball's Ah, What do you know What? How do you look at that? That that thing That they are going to have. You know what I would describe as an unforgiving year in terms of, you know their mental discipline, everything else and I think that's what was on it. I don't think they're They're that bad. I don't think they're seven turnovers a game. You know, losing the rock for seven weeks bad, you know, I mean, credit Rutgers for coming in with more energy and playing them as well..

"Mozzie Smith is another one that is developing. But you've got to get some of these guys that seem to be in really position to be that compliment to Carlo Kemp and the top three at this point, I believe are hidden. Donovan Jeter and Julius Welsh off and we'll see where where they all are, as faras be able to hold their own it and really improved that staff ability of the middle Is it made? John, I gotta ask you about this story today not to be a rally killer on the defensive line, but There was a national column. This morning, wondering About Jim Harbaugh con tract status and he's done at the end of the year and the Piece pointed out. He is the only power five coach with less than two years on his deal, John, What if you're ward manual? What are you thinking about in this situation? You know for me? I looked at it. I don't think you go through the entire season. If you have the plans here that you're going to Have an extension for Jim Harbaugh, but we do realize it's a pandemic. We know that he commented on it that They had bigger fish to fry a couple months. I'll go. But you know, here we are with the season coming up. Ah, week from Saturday, so I know it's ah Harbaugh. However, you describe it, whether it's you know, just odd or different or quirky. The critics like you know, say bizarre. This particular situation is one Where he doesn't seem to fit the norm with all of the other coaches where, you know they have their agent. They have these negotiations going out. He seems like he handled this differently than most. What's your read on this situation? Well, my read is partly you mentioned the fact that a commented that we're in a pandemic. Ah, we've got we've got other things to think about there. Different things going, But you know the reason that they roll these contracts out like they do and re up extend and all it has everything to do with recruiting. And you want people to know that your guy is going to be in the building and he's gonna be there. It's been interesting that I don't know that Jim Harbaugh and Ah, president of the university were completely on the same page in terms of the The pandemic response and whether or not football was played this year. So you know there may be disagreements there. I would think like you do that. You wouldn't let this go. Oh, ah, whole lot longer if you're going to Ah, renew this contract. You want to send that signal that okay, Jim Harbaugh's gonna be here you're gonna get that done A sorrows to the specific article referenced I find it. Ah, a little bit odd that you're talking about. Playing shirtless and sleepovers with recruits and things to point out oddities when all of those things came five years ago when Jim Harbaugh was just getting going, and You know it. It speaks to maybe not being as plugged into what's going on here. As you might if you were here on a regular basis, But you know, it raises the question that it's a different situation. And you see, so it might be something that mission wants to get cleared up. I mean, I get it. I mean, they were talking about it before. Before the pandemic. We hurt we found out about the pandemic. I mean, in the February it sounds like the two parties were talking about. Ah, a new contract. And then after the pandemic hit, they show them now. I don't think I don't think they like you said. They may have to readdress it, make it make it come out some way that they were negotiating. They do. They're doing something, but I don't think the two parties Are they not impasse? They're just They're moving along and I'm just going to say this. It doesn't look, it won't look right trying to sign a coach. To a multiyear contract in a pandemic. Somehow it's got to be done, but Well, you know, you understand through all the financial things and everything that that's going on in the world today. It just doesn't look right. The ops won't look right. So I get with the university is trying to do too along with the athletic department. I mean, that's what I'm thinking, right? I think that's a great point. Because You are dealing with, um, kind of a touchy situation in that you've got an economy that has changed because of the pandemic and the response that you have had Shut things down. And so you know, that's a that's a very valid point that Ah Doing a Whatever it might be $67 million a year contract. Will turn some heads and maybe draw you the kind of attention you don't want. The flip side is actually getting it done. And sending that message again. Two recruits and families and everyone out there that You can't be negative negatively recruited on the fact that your Ah Ko ship doesn't have much time left on his deal. Yet John and Jamie, you know to me, I looked at it, and I think Jamie makes a great point. You you know, talking about this being a touchy situation because of the economy and specifically about how universities are losing so much money this year, and they have the layoffs and everything else. I thought you still have to conduct business here and you still have to get this done. If me if I was word manual, I was just announced a next tension before the opener here against Minnesota. And I would talk to Jim and say, Can we put a 10 20% Not easy for me to say pay cut, But I think inside of that you're thinking, Hey, it is the pandemic. Also, you know, he was a top three top five paid coach and I hasn't quite lived up to that. And so you're I don't know if Jim accept that or not, but in the same contract, you could stay over these four years. If you end up Getting to Indianapolis if he ended up winning that game instead of a 10 20% pay cut. We're talking about a 10 20% raise over what you had. It seems like it would meet both sides there. I don't know if you feel like that would be lowballing Jim Harbaugh because of No. The contract and came in on. I'm not sure how he feels about that. I don't care how you feel about that, Jonah. Does that seem like it makes a little bit of sense there, or do you find that like that could be You know, taking the coach and you know his ego are you know that he might like in business? You don't normally whatever your whatever that number is. You know you're expected to get that number and Mohr, you know, not taking up a couple you factor in those other things like the pandemic. You absolutely do. And I think that anybody understand that At this point, you want to. Ah, do the best deal that you can, but you understand that these are different times. For everybody and a lot of people. Ah, don't even have worked at this point, and it's It could be a touchy situation..

"Jamie Morris did his 15. Anthony self vested in for the Miss Man, and we have one of my That was great song. Anthony, By the way, you got that You still got that disco in you, baby. I like it. I like it. We have John board from the Wolverine on. Hey, John, how you doing? I am doing very well, sir. We're looking at what 10 days till kick off, and a season that we never thought would Get rolling. I'm I'm very good. I'm looking forward to Ah, watching this football team. Take the field and ah see what it can do in front of Practically no fans in Minneapolis. That being said, John. I mean, you think this team has had an opportunity? Tio have Tio hit one another get get used to hitting and different things like that. Sounds like things are progressing pretty good. Don brown. Ah, a couple weeks ago, Don Brown said. You know, we have some way have two corners that we're looking at. Uh Jim Harbaugh came on the radio this week talking about, he added some more names. And they said it were competing at the corner spot. And with that being said on and now we know that we're competing also with the defense of line. With things not settled just yet. They don't have to be. I said probably around Wednesday Thursday with it being the first game coming up. You kind of want to start game week preparations around around Thursday Friday and then lead into the weekend. You know? No doubt about it. We got Shaun Nua talking about Michigan defensive line today via Zoom, which is how we do everything, of course these days and Sean newest defensive line coach. We got him going on the interior defensive lineman, which I think is just a huge Huge area for Michigan this year. You know what you've got at the defensive end. You got quickly pay. You've got a Hudson. One of the best defensive end combos around the country. But what are they gonna have up the middle? And that will be very, very crucial. Carlo camp here, Senior Captain last year, I think is going to be very salad. And take a step up. Hopefully here will be more healthy than he was at the end of last year, where he wasn't making excuses, but his teammates talked about how beat up he was by the end of the year. But you have to have somebody along side of him. That is really going to be able to step up and we were hearing good things about Christopher hidden About? Ah Ah ah! About Donovan Jeter. The the young fellow from Germany, Mr Julius World Shop who is starting to learn the American football game and others. I mean, I just see that is a huge spot on this team that needs to be Shored up and you get them to the level, not to the level of the defensive ends. But Being a compliment on guy talked Tio, Ryan Van Berg and the former Michigan defense event on my own podcast about this, and he talked about the fact that you have to know when those guys were crashing from both ends and given the quarterback fits that he can. He can not be able to just step up. Ah, couple of steps and find the hole in the pocket and be able to deliver the football. You got to get that push up the middle, So I see that is a huge area The watch for this football team this year. Hey, John. I'm gonna prep you because Matt Leach is going to ask you about Mozzie Smith at defensive tackle the question right after my but I'm gonna go to AA. The question that did not get answered about. Position flexibility along that defensive. Line and the coach said, You know, we'll see what happens. We're going to keep that under wraps everything he's he's really Fit in well with that Michigan coaching staff. But if you had to know if you had Teo pick some of those guys, you know you mentioned well shop yet, Yes, CMA is more of a defensive tackle or or defense van is a tailor up show more of a defensive end with those Two guys there. It seems like you might try them. And maybe you do plan that both spots. I think you could. I think both of those guys have the sort of flexibility to be able to help you out in different areas, and they have the sort of makeup to be able to play. Multiple positions, even like Aidan Hutchison does on any given play. I mean, we saw this Back in the days of Mike Martin, where you take a guy that is fairly athletic, even though he's a tank in there and and you might see him line up inside. Stand up, you might be off the edge. You can use him in a number of ways, and I think They did some of that with Aidan Hudson last year. The guys that you mentioned would also be capable people of being able to. Ah, you know, maybe they line up right behind one of the tackles or right off them. And find a crease in there or they do split out and come off the edge. Move around so that you got guys coming from different places to confuse offensive lines. And really become a handful in the kind of pressure that don brown wants to create. So yeah, I mean, he was going to answer that new is showing that he has got his genuine Michigan coaching certification. By not talking about that kind of thing before the season starts, But I think you can pretty much count on it that they're going to move people around and find creative ways to put pressure on Some things that I found interesting. John was that you know, no one talked about. I mean, you you mentioned Carlos kept getting beat up, You know, playing playing, I'm going to say under man A mean late The 12 games at defense of line right over the center, and, you know he got beat up Donovan Jeter. They sound It sounds like he's becoming the kind of player that they want him to play. They've been waiting for him for two years, and he's been, you know, has been injured. He's at the injury and different things like that. Chris and clues hidden. Hey, Kristin has arrived. He is a five star, and now you're going to put a lot of you're going to put a lot on him and hopefully he delivers. But that being said it didn't say where you're going to need help. And if don Brown wants to run the defense that He likes to run. You're you're not gonna be able to let this any any of the visiting teams be ableto run up the middle, and that was a problem. Last year, teams were able to run up the middle on Michigan. There's no doubt about it. And you have to have the kind of stoppers that can not only plug it up and make sure that that doesn't happen. And that goes to Ah, the guys that you mentioned. It goes, Tio. Some of the backups and trying to Ah, get them going. Just Speight is someone that we've heard that is able to be a ineffective run stopper. Philip II's not played a whole lot here. You know, he may step up..

Michigan John Don brown Tio football Aidan Hudson Donovan Jeter Anthony Jamie Morris Jim Harbaugh Shaun Nua Minneapolis Mike Martin Aidan Hutchison Mr Julius World Shop Germany Speight Philip II

"Hey we're back to install alive at the press about the twenty six South Main street in downtown Ann Arbor it's gone from a little bit of snow this morning so now it's sunny quite a bit prettier he here at in downtown Ann Arbor this to be the place to be to watch Michigan and watch the big ten tournament and the NC double a tournament the next couple of weeks you can watch the games of fellow Michigan fans I've been here for multiple ansible turn the games over the last five years and the atmosphere in here is just is in the words of Brenda brown let's I don't say that word birds nope on fire the adult sure Joe it's just a lot of fun in here it's usually jammed in the downstairs sports bar by the team time at the tip off that takes place and people are celebrating it's it's like being in a in the state of being in the student section while you're watching the game I was just so much fun so highly recommend next week with the big ten tournament starts certainly the ants will turn it in a couple of weeks come on down to the price of on the corner of liberty and main street in downtown Ann Arbor all right John and we we did this last week we haven't had a chance to get to it this week it's the what do we think we know what's your number one question and what's your spring the prediction and we'll start with the defense of line Sean knew a spoke in the trenches podcast last week a little about his defensive line across top of course talk about the eight hundred cynically pay the good things the Carlo Kemp has done for the Wolverines and then after that developing the depth at the position brand will start with you what do you think you know about the defensive line I mean I think I know that the starting for is going to be really good I think Chris Hinton is ready to take that job he's finished his he finished his true freshman season playing thirty eight snaps against Ohio state and thirty six snaps against Alabama which was the most of any interior defensive lineman in that last game with Carl okay about due to injury so he's he's ready he's ready to step into that spot he's going to be probably the most physically imposing defensive lineman at three hundred and I don't know where he'll be you know come fall probably north of three fifteen if I had to guess he was listed at three or five or three oh six as a true freshman when the season started so I think the front four is gonna be really good you've got eight Hutchinson including pay on the two ends and you've got Carlo camping and Christopher hidden in the middle that's that's a really good that's a really good front four but it's that depth behind them it's a lot of question marks and kind of jumping in the second question is just who is going to be who who who can you count on there's a lot of bodies there's a lot of names you can throw out there but a lot of guys who haven't done much who have played a lot Mazi Smith being one of them Donovan Jeter being another Luigi the lane some of these underclassmen guys we haven't seen at all Julius wealth off David job also there's a lot there's a lot of what ifs in a lot of question marks behind a what I think will be a truly truly solid starting for I don't you know depending on the the the match up and depending on the different packages it's it's a little bit a little bit disingenuous to call them the starting for but I think you'd be pretty safe in saying that those four guys will be on the field the first play on defense every week barring you know injury knock on wood hopefully we don't have we don't have to talk about that because that would put a big dent in the death but I think the I think the front four is going to be as good as anybody in the big ten R. eight Zach what do you think you know about the defensive line what is your biggest question in the spring and what's your prediction yeah it's gonna it's gonna sound pretty pretty darn similar I mean that's that's kind of how it goes I think the I think I think the starting for is the best in the big ten I've I've taken a peek around lot a lot of good defensive ends and edge rushers are leaving the big ten actually this year Grossman does die young obviously we talked about him happen as a I'm looking around I don't see a better big ten defensive line and obviously that can change I mean that Kerr isn't going to be a beast I'm I'm sure Penn state has some five star book high four star that's that's rated takeover same time this is a really really strong group I think it has everything they want to have a little bit the star power in eighteen Hutchinson and Chris Hinton has a little bit of the veteran dependability equity pay and Carlo Kemp the camp I would just say I mean he is not Nestle is explosive I don't think he's ever going to be like a mo Hurst type that's really just breaking the game open for Michigan we had forty two tackles last season that's a lot for a defensive tackle and that's that's someone who's reliable I think we call that a senior surge what he was doing in late October and early November but now he's back for a nother senior year so yeah I think I think it's thirty four is the best in the big ten I think I know that for sure of my my big question is they recruited a lot of project recruits this is one of the more fascinating things I'm gonna be just looking at this spring they you know Greg Mattison brought a lot of guys in who were supposed to be your three guys Taylor Upshaw died started football age what fifteen David Jovel played ten games in high school period Julie's Welsh office from Germany not that that missile I mean he's a proud but he always what's he always with someone that with like okay we're gonna build these guys the we're gonna build these guys out of clay it's worked before I mean Michigan has a history of guys third fourth year is when they really break out our defensive line standouts but at the same time they need a couple of them now in a I think I've I'd argue Luigi the lanes a little bit of a project is missing so much time to head back to back basically season ending injuries UMass Smith was highly were touted but he's also someone that if they need they need maybe three guys to have take take major steps forward I'm not sure who they are that's that's kind of part of the question but they recruited basically for the some of these guys to step up this season so who does who who answers the call that's that's my big question I'm trying to do it there's a couple other bodies are missing on the on that line Mike Morris maybe gate a couple other CW burgers there yeah yeah yeah because a lot of guys who were very much like well they won't do much in year one but the next year though the really step up my my prediction for the line this I guess the best in the big ten what could counter the prediction my prediction is that this time next year I I want to do like a Christine when I I think he I think I don't want to predict that he's going to be better than Hutchinson I'm gonna predict that he is going to be the second best defensive linemen this season so maybe that I don't know maybe that's not that bold actually but I think I mean I'm hearing a lot of the same buzz I heard about a not something where it's just it's almost like automatic about he's going to be good it's just a matter of it all big ten a third team all big ten first team maybe even higher but that might be further down the road but I think I think he's gonna have a really strong season one thing to note for Brandon pointing out that he played the most snaps on defense of tackles injuries are part of that but at the same time he is he's playing a lot more than a lot of defensive tackles do in Michigan's history I mean there there aren't there aren't a ton of true freshman defensive tackles who stand out so I think for him to already kind of be trending up and we finish the season with more tackles than everyone but camp as far as the teas are the I think there's I think there's a lot on the horizon for him so maybe that's my prediction he he lands on some variation some some form of all big ten whether it's honorable mention I know that you know at this point they basically give everyone one but it's honorable mention thirteen I think he's going to be a breakout player for Michigan all right so that was acts of three things so I'm looking at what is my what do I know about the defensive line you guys made some really good points I think we know that in Hutchinson in a touch as an equity pay you have to first team all big ten likely performers you know eight Hutchinson you know is going to take that next that that next step and just become a dominant defensive and we're gonna have to see but I I think what you know is you've got the bass bookends in the big ten by far right now what so what I want what I want to know is and I don't think you can really answer this question the spring honestly because last spring at this time all the hype was about Donovan Jeter this and Donovan Jeter that and a little bit about like Mazi Smith is early enrollee and what he's capable of and then we can see either one of those guys make a impacted all Mazi Smith played in one game I think it was for snaps are Donovan Jeter earlier this season he missed the game you know he he coach's decision sounds like that the set out he came back didn't really play into the point where they were using banned Mason on the road at Wisconsin I very very undersized defensive tackles the putting down of Jeter and there was two hundred ninety five pounds at defensive tackle he got a little bit a run later on in the year but not very much so my biggest question is in a kind of piggy backs off of what Jack was asking about like who's gonna rise up as yet the defensive tackle spot I agree with you guys at camp and Christensen I think you can feel pretty good about what does Jeter or Mazi Smith in two thousand twenty rise up and give you that type of depth on the interior that can really help Michiganders and view what they have banned the beauty work from two thousand fifteen eighteen where they're just rolling eight guys in and out we talked well hiding earlier in the week he said you know one of the really big strength of Michigan special defensive line is is those coaches Greg Mattison with sales guys Hey I need you to give your your hundred percent for to place not for eight plays not pretend plays for two plays and then I'm gonna take you out put somebody in there who's gonna give it a hundred percent for three plays and Michigan and have that a year ago were the only the fifth line that they were using consistently throughout the year with Mike Danna and that wasn't Chris Hansen the last couple weeks of the regular season where he was getting all of the run is that's six defense alignments that's my question is is will Donovan Jeter or Mazi Smith stepped up this year and again how much we know about that in the spring probably not a lot because they were get that type of hype a year ago my prediction for the defense of line position that you guys vote tomorrow really good ones already I think that it's Michigan's starting for you said will be the best in the big ten my prediction is that at some point in two thousand twenty Carlo camp moves from being a starter to being a backup somebody rises up with a little bit higher ceiling and takes the job away from Carlo camp I could be dead wrong about that if he's listening right now maybe he put that chip on his shoulder uses that for motivation to really get going can I when we come back we'll get to look yes shows is the same just because you're predicting do you have a prediction for who it might be I mean you said that was a big question is who rides up at defensive tackle you mean are you hearing buzz about anybody that could pass him no this is just a stab in the dark this is just a idiotic moronic Michael Spafford just going out there and throw it out there I mean I think you'd like it to be Mazi Smith yeah the other three hundred plus pounder that you have a front highly touted very athletic is more of the mo Hurst get in the backfield cause some disruption get after the quarterback tackle for loss guy than Carlo camp so I mean he's the obvious choice it's just it's Arafat called a shame but it is surprising that we saw him so little last year after what we thought we were going to see you know based on how he was talked about in his level of level of athleticism size and everything we heard about as a recruit so I mean he's who who else is even in a choice we only have like two bodies it's like Marty Smith and Donovan Jeter that's it and it hasn't happened for Jeter yeah I just don't know if it's going to.
