"On our review of mayor You only live once. I need to definitely see some more german movies. Do you ever see dos boot I mean more most recently dark. Obviously the television show was phenomenal I do enjoy like no jokes aside. Just how they speak of german cinema in inglorious bastards. Because it's like to me you get that sense. That in like that was one of their goals was to match the americans in that sense in a cinematic sense and just how that that was such a prominent thing and especially well everywhere. pretty much. Like the heyday of but But like the way. They discuss cinnamon. That movie i i. That's one that's something. I always like was fascinated by somebody answers our question with how. 'bout you send me questions. boy yeah that that is a an interesting point. And what's her face. Do you remember the actress name. Yvonne hammers mark. Okay but the her actual name in real life. Yes are now. She's incredible actress. She has great german actress then. I can't remember her name. Diane diane kruger krueger. Diane kruger. yes yeah yup. I watched german stuff. Oh sorry curtis actually had a question. He just didn't want to shout out. Which film from the which film for the rest of the year do you think has the best chance to hit one. Billy spiderman next. Yeah i hope. I hope what's going to be the first film post pandemic or current pandemic to hit a billy guy now we have black widow. I'm not maybe eight to nine. But it's going to have the disney plus aspect to it right then may heard it Eternal maybe the first nine disney plus disney movie marvel movie I feel like a turtles is big enough to hit a billion man. Hit a billion no matter what it's about it's gotta hit the guardians hit a billion neither guardians said billion. Yeah so that's tough..

"What was it was enjoyable to watch that at least would make a fantastic harley quinn as a side note but she can just do anything She she's she's really good. I wonder if she'd ever marry me if i ever ran into her and just got on one knee and garfield wasn't continent maybe both soup. Ken dairy talking about the fat cat for a second. No andrew garfield garfield i think of a mondays. I do love that fat. I think like pair bill murray. I don't know what they would like tackle on a sequel. Because i'll tell you this much. As far as redeeming the bad guy where like joker. It's i hate making comparisons. Everyone makes the comparison. I i called her. Dalmatian joker You know at the end of joker. He's like he's joker the carello like i don't think it's so clear cut. She has moments in this movie. And there's like a she goes like this trying to spoil anything like there's a large period of time where she is like super like evil and stuff but then like she kind of got a little redemption at the end than you know. What are you gonna do that again. The nino eventually going to skin the dogs well when you say what. Are you going to do that again. Hollywood's like the work the first time. Sure skimming the dogs is definitely not going to happen. They didn't even let her smoke. I saw emma. Stone was frustrated by that not so frustrated but she mentioned that she wanted to smoke the iconic cruella deville cigarette And there's no smoking dizzy. Bovey's some maybe. If since the first one was so good the letter smoke in the second and that brings a new aspect of the character. Not only trying to kill dogs but trying to kick the habit of smoking cigarettes to from on special there but You gotta go for the dogs right. That's the next that's the next step. Everyone saying corolla to isn't that just one hundred and one dalmatians. So like i said. I guess she is a fashion crazy person. Fashioned crazed individual and she has the. We've all seen the first clip of the movie. If you haven't seen it on the internet the dalmatians killing her mother. Just fucking incredible It's ridiculous it's like. Jeff bezos is origin story like a a library killed his facts the way like barnes and noble the way they try to connect certain things is probably the worst part of the movie with that how she gets her name and things like that. It's it's very. Yeah solely han solo. Because you're alone yet. It's on par that right Rindge i do want to see for emma stone man. She's good man. It's the perfect kids movie for her to take on right. If you wanna get that disney check it's a role where she's not going to be to be limited whatsoever because characters so crazy but like for her. That's emma stone. Is i think i would put her in the prestige class point. Yeah no award winner..

"Good very good for the most part I think you think they've gotten better right for you. You like three. The most i do. I think they've been pretty consistent and they are just great movies and it's kind of like what mission impossible. It's like what we're gonna get another one but they just keep getting better and or at least as good so it's like we can't really complain until they actually jumped the shark or they make a bad movie so if they're gonna keep it rolling and may building a cast like this. I think that's something i can. Add a different element into it and make it make it fresh right And that's a franchise out. I think it's hard to jump the shark because it is inherently just ridiculous. It's not fast and furious stealing computer chips to address. The world. possibility is not out of the question right. So it's i think it's consistent knows what it is. In terms of a franchise and to cast greek. I i thought the halle berry was a great casting. And i think she that character fit right into the franchise so if you keep implementing things like that into this franchise then. I think it's something where you give them the benefit and the benefit of the doubt until they prove that they prove you. Wrong so yeah. I'm excited what. I want from the donnie yen casting is that he is firmly on the side of john wick. I don't want any. I thought common was going to be that character where he was going to help john. Whitmore more like halle berry and par-three even though she was kind of a reluctant partner. That was my favorite part of the movie. But if it's john wick. And i hope they just call him donnie yen and donnie yen back to back going against the high table assisted by laurence fishburne words Bird king guy. Whoever he is and to me it's just so funny. How each movie is just the same movie but slightly bigger. It always ends with john wick killing a bunch of people and that the end. He's he's betrayed by someone else and he's just gotta do. Can you just brought right back in So i hope part for the same exact way john wick seems like he's gonna be behind it all in maybe. Yeah yeah i. I hope that they're just friends. Because there's nothing like a bromance especially in this universe. You just wanting to be named danny do like that one. Tv show or movie. The characters name is their name real life. It depends it depends if it just fits the story. Some of story with the character is kinda like a nameless character so they just give it. The actor's name because the character doesn't the names not that important times it does bother me. If the if the actors two well-known gets to a point where like the rock should just played the rock and every movie he doesn't that is calling him his character names like i said gun to your head. Tell me who he played in baywatch or the tower movie. I can't even remember the the name of the fucking movie. Yes i never call it skyscraper. I always call it. The tower movie always hobbs. Or shaw fifty fifty. Chance gun to your head. Show so donnie yen playing donnie yen and john wick. Part for and like you said a franchise. Why do they keep getting better. Gave part three a back..

baywatch three donnie yen john wick halle berry each movie john two danny do Whitmore part three greek one tower the shark -known shaw fifty fifty

"It would like somehow up by all of those and you like walk into the tower and there should be some stupid reason. Why the towers floating. Why would why would the tower to float. Because they're in a place that gets a lot of earthquakes or something that can be a plot point at some point that they have this stupid hanging tower. Even though i think a hanging power would get hurt by earthquake. More may be like fucking jostled around because the supports will still be unless magic. We want magic. We can have magic. I feel like it's a bit not. It's not as smiled upon to just put magic to your martial arts films. But ooh the tower spins. That's why it's floating is because it rotates or something and like spins around and things like the international space station rotates to create its own gravity or something like something bullshit like that but the playstations realistically be some bullshit explanation k. So we got our location. Who are our fighters. So i'm not as familiar with a lot of the current martial arts actors. I watched a lot more like older. Gold major martial arts film stuff but the one person. I need in this donnie yen. Donahue that is he's a great martial arts actor. He was in rogue one line character. Who are leads. How old is he. Donnie yen is fifty seven. Oh shit case. Maybe he's not the lead. No one wants to watch romcom withhold. People he looks good for his age. I will say that he's looking real. Good seven he does. He does look very good. But i don't know a lot of other current martial arts actor so i wasn't saying that for casting. I don't think we could cast this one. I won't say who are the players like who are the okay. Casting is the only thing is that donny is going to be in this movie. He could be the person organizing it like. He's the the person who's in charge. But it's also really good fighter. Great action scenes. Will he'd still fighting in every martial arts movie like this. The organs ends up doing a fight but one person entering it is actually there to bust it open right. There's always someone who is their actual. Goal is to reveal that the leader is dealing drugs or selling weapons or something like that. So i think that would be easy. I i'm taking over words as our characters. We've got easy. We've got tiger so easy will be some spy agency. You can pick whichever one you want. They're coming from the spy agency in they have to go undercover as a martial arts person to figure out the plans of the coordinator and tiger is people. Don't know this but she's the daughter of the coordinator who's also entered in the contest. So that will be the love pair and we the con- you don't have to worry about how to make romantic tension because if hollywood taught me anything you build sexual attention with fight scenes. Oh yeah the moment the moment you're touching a fight or it's called the flirt fight or the the fuck fight. Yeah like mr. And mrs smith so many films. They're like fight. Scenes are basically sex scenes..

"Right of bad ass operatives to go up against Donnie Yen's and this is I imagine just the riders being like what's The fucking craziest way we can use e I don't remember it was years back but but he directed yeah he's great he was very cool did that sounds really cool now big fans so let's get him on the pocket yeah she would have us believe achieved there is chemistry regardless of whether there is or not we are meant to believe that there is he puts this is also the third woman that has chemistry all right and the skip straight over the orgy we out yeah let's let's go back to the quick because I think that did not belong in the movie our own now but that's how I feel about most movies where vin diesel is asked to exist in a sexual function he he seems sexless I guess that's what I man earlier when I said sexually like unavailability VIN diesel the human beings seems sexist I've heard this character is supposed to be I guess exuding a raw sexuality that is irresistible to women the same thing about the rock do you also feel like Dwayne Johnson has a sexless van I feel the same way about him I why I feel a lot of about man with a lot of guns and people who work out a lot though Mike it's I don't know how would stick we will end for six as you know females would be but like for me man like who just spent a lot of time in the gym I it's like they become almost like looking in tre like at themselves than out and there's just no chemistry that they're sending out into the world I mean I would also say the same thing probably about Arnold Schwarzenegger right aberthaw there are and there are movies where Arnold Schwarzenegger's playing married man but I get no sense that he and the woman playing his wife in any of those said ever had sex except maybe true lies there's maybe a little chemistry between him and Jamie Lee Curtis in that movie I always talk about big Hollywood actors but I would you like to me like currently the sexiest male actor that I think I could think Gov Michael Shannon know what I'm talking about this sort of a smaller scale but still very talented actor Andrei who's the guy from neck and from Casper castlerock Andre Holland Andre Holland to me he's like the sexiest guy on any screenwriter. Yeah I think he doesn't do a lot of films yet or maybe I don't know he's just theater he's and there is a Jurassic world short that just got released it was supposed to be attached to Hobson shop afato hotline. It's interesting to play in front of Hobson Sean theaters I guess they decided it's not very good so they released it online is directed by com on trevorrow and it's like six minutes long and it's just about a family like witnessing a dinosaur attack and Andre Holland is the only actor of note in that on when he doesn't get a whole lot to do but yet look it up I well well also so vin diesel needs to figure out who these three or four four sorry mysterious talented keep loss being we do keep forgetting about him I'm so sorry Michael personal apologies all three of us would like to invite you to be a member come over my house there's pot hanging from the ceiling if you smoke pot I'll give you some anyone listening to this has a line into Michael Bist being please pass along our policies and send him this Oughtta he's one of the four yes ah he's the White Guy Yeah I know but that's why but I mean to be fair like Donnie yen and deep Ika are it's like the character moments and Tony Jock kind of just has a personality in the way that he performs Michael is not really giving anything to do with set himself apart do whatever he's given anything either sorry my of this thing you defend yourself if you you only have to defend yourself here's what I'll say Michael Bay's Ping you come to the podcast studio I will not criticize you at any way and I will return act any mean thing that I've said about you now give you forty five minutes to talk about anything you want except racial slurs or misogynistic like Oh if that's what you WanNa talk about don't come if that's what you WanNa talk about Michael Dot Com I retract the offer that would be a weird the topic of popular culture you wanted to defend like if someone came in wanted to defend game or gate we've had people offer to defend else on this podcast yeah so that we had me that's not one person you're thinking oh wow that's the one stop Stephen had to put her it's the one time a suggestion which makes him look a lot more like a hero than me stopping like an alarm clock or some from like nineteen there's something that I turned out but anyway back to this film obviously sucking us in so hard we just keep going in different tangents so vin diesel goes to the kingdom to find Ainsley play by actress whose first name in real life is her mind God is great before hurry it was just a real name who knew I don't know any harmony I don't know any her minds are we sure it's how was he oldest Harry Potter book released she was born nineteen ninety-three and the first Harry Potter Book Came Up Nineteen Ninety seven wow okay so it's a either like her parents were friends with J. K. Rowling or yeah or if it's a real name or it's like Sarah in the UK we'll never know so she is currently under house arrest because of her hacking endeavors in the past nonetheless Zander cage goes and asks her for a favor to track down the mysterious assassins and she's able to do this year so so she's first we meet her she's swimming in infinity I believe me infinity pool gets out of the infinity pool she has another kind of flirtatious interaction with with Zander K. lots of cha-cha shots a close up on her Chacha is that the Vagina Cher I wasn't sure which was an underused word for vaginas break so she agrees he's to help Zander Cage but only six Women Waltham town she's a little concerned that he might be wearing a wire yes so she needs to make sure that he's not she should be concerned because he's wearing a very large coat that could hide honestly a wire from nineteen sixty five hi this is zander cages signature for Co got his from the original triple X. Go as far as say that this code is the comics release of this film because he like lightens up VIN diesel in talks about it like it's you know he yeah needs to pick it up if they need to pick up and you believe that you believe that he flew to the United Kingdom and specifically sought out Ainsley for the coat you do I think so I knew I believe that and then later tonic lead really upset about that code says this is an animal like alive alive the coat does disappear in the second half of the movie which is strange for something that is seems to be like a totemic representation zander cages internal personality you know but her mind is very concerned that he's wearing a wire but she's not going to check it herself she doesn't get her hands already so instead her six she owns brothel right I think it's like a hacker isn't one of those women holding a gun when he gets there I thought they were like her muscle or something that they were holding laptops at least guns in two thousand nineteen what's the difference bottle when you can make a satellite drop out of the sky who needs gun control I'm running for President Steven Cohen for President Not one you think king so yeah all those women like it's just like bad actors and could find the look of different mysteries they just get in and they're like I don't I'm going to defend them we don't know if they're bad act seems like a judgment we're not prepared to pass yet if any of those actresses want to come on this guys are you bring Michael Here's what I'll say think about what these women are tasked with doing in this scene which is looking at VIN diesel as a sexual thank you know I wouldn't have been able to put this is when I told myself I said directing is Bad uh-huh up until then I was like I can deal with the obnoxious things have been happening and I'm fine with them and I'm having fun and then I was like this is just so stupid because it's just like freeze frame almost on them like walking in and like ready to devour vin diesel and go to this like really weird shot of them laying there are in different negligee and like different poses and he's just standing there like and they dress you know because it's PG thirteen in psych four he's government to be approved a non sexual movie and so he then goes like the famous phrase the things I do from country right and then we're kind of move on we we have put a checkmark of that yes he's sex object for all all the women who needs work I mean there's nothing against ban she's Anthony Star Yeah I mean look as though and sexy were Bansi we would have seen the penetration and that's that's what really upset Steven while he was watching his pirated version of this movie. Where's the penetration shot but like you say he is a sexual being and it persists throughout the movie we didn't mention the character played by Nina Dobrev 'cause she sucked it was delightful her name but she's playing like the tech person on the NSA cy she is so taken with Santa when she meets that she has this kind of diarrhea of the mouth where she keeps talking about her classic Lauren Graham kind of neurotic overwhelmed or as described in Wikipedia. page introverted character I was not introverted at all? She's talking nonstop but you know it's like this actor in Dobrev Rushing russian-american actor did you know her no but I know them right so like anytime I see a Russian name like Manila Jo Jo Mila Kunis and and the Dobrev I'm like all like you just know because there's so few of them right me but she was in the vampire issues and so he or she's doing like pretty much playing technically would like Lauren Graham and older people established in Gilmore girls and there's just like a whole stereotype at this point of attractive woman glasses and dark hair the librarian right but also who is just bumbling were Korea and she's only very technical and smart and she's very insecure but she's expressing everything that's going on inside and there's a lot going inside and I just didn't buy it like she was just to me is your acting was she was playing something she's seen on TV and she's referring to that existing character like there was just nothing real that she added of her own dot's my judgment of acting sorry common defend her she's more than welcome to coca here yeah look any actor from triple x return is in a cage and welcome on the show she will most I don't go for like oh diesel because like would you want including bottle which want to be on I think if he was comfortable coming on the person I would most want to spend seventy minutes it would be Donnie yen I've loved on I enjoyed him quite a bit in this phil he was projecting a lot of confidence which I I give him credit for for being in the strange film that I bet you was very strange to be in with vin diesel who I will tell you a story later or now abundant how strange he is like a secret Hollywood story and you know and Yeah I was Donnie yen is like doing pretty like solid job of handling this character yeah I don't know if Donny how done ends like conversational English is he may not Wanna come on the podcast just become too donahue almost to come in with an interpreter can make it yeah how about you Sasha Oh God who did are like Oh boy toni collette would be great oh God yeah that that'd be my answer she's the real actor in this film I would I would love to have a it was just like he showed up for half a day you know he remembered away are we interview about the movie or is it it's just who would we want to have as a guest on the over and talk I would love to have Tony Jaw calm and just learn what his experiences in breaking into Hollywood I think I think he's done a really interesting Kevin and his his career I watched a few movies back in the day on back up those were great they're really really entertaining he's very good at them and he was One of the fast and furious movies belief fast seven I've always left the movie theater when he comes on wishing that he had four to play to speed up through we'll get back to the president of our summary there at the rave right Zander cage has met up with Deep Ika also donnie yen and we have this the grenade seen right where they're kind of negotiating who should have Pandora's box and in doing that they are rolling grenades with the pins pulled out there playing hot potato with grenade Russian Russian roulette style just to see who is willing to die the most for Pandora's box I don't really know what purpose Chris that seats I the larger Lord of it's cool yeah but then some some guy's role in trying to take Pandora's box are the ones who are using Pandora's box for ill and that eventually includes mark she reveals that she wants to be the one in control Pandora's box and she even shoots zander cage to get him out of the way turns out though he was wearing body not worth dying which which we were introduced to his body armour because Nina Dobrev put it on him earlier in the movie that's right that great scene of her dressing him it's at this point that the two teams we well we found out that Donnie yen and deep Ika and Tony John and Michael spinks mall former triple X. They used to be triple X..

So I I don't know what got into Japan. Jimmy like, hey, learn lessons. You can't take personal right? Yeah. But I think it's cool. I didn't even think about it at the time, but I did have a room full of people on classroom. I was teaching event. So. When I got him where I wanted him position wise. I just looked at all the ladies I said, and this is what an account looks like. And I think that little fake flip pow was end of it. You know? Well, I feel like, you know, when you're a gym west or Adele, Comstock, there's kind of be like you ever see that movie. It man with Donnie yen where it's like you ask people coming to you all the time like master. If I got this new move. I want to show you or they just want to challenge you to a fight all the time. Yeah. I mean, data tell you come in the club all the time. I put out like if somebody, you know, because it was so much controversy in those days, Dale, if you remember. All the rest of the guys in the public. I just kind of told us look if somebody comes in my club with my ass paying five thousand bucks. People came in. Well, you put when you put a bounty on your own head at that point. You're you're asking for it came in Dale Dale waxed? Few fucking. Took a few. Remember when Murad Miller came in at the end of the first class, you didn't know shit from shine. Let it goes. We're getting ready to walk out today. I was I guess you're still good friends these great guy, and he he says I wanna Spar with you. And I go what? Classes over come back tomorrow. Now, I want more now like okay knocked him down halfway out. It gets up. I thought that'd be good. I wanna go again like what is wrong with this guy. He turned out to be quite the athlete. Right. Yeah. Actually did. I'm still friends with him. I actually live down. But yet guys come into the gym. And it was like it was like the OK corral right guy walking with all his buddies. You know, better you come food fight, you know. Jimmy, Janaki loves what are you what you know? And then they go out there to Jimmy just sweet away lay the guy, you know, like pool over with cheese. Get him out of the guy who walk into one of flight meets Jimmy would say, look, you're not fight me goes tell you what you can start with that guy. He's sick on me. Right. He take Jim attainment corner. Listen this guy in our club. He goes I'm going to go out just beat his ass, but don't do right away. Go to. Look at the sex the booze nickel. So you're not one guy stayed around. The whole time that train over the years on the guys that, you know, stay there committed to fighting, you know, would be in Judy man. That was it. And nobody else had the will stay it's game. But to have the heart to Stater and really keep training to learn and take the bumps Brusco with it. A lot of guys that don't have the result. I was talking to a friend of mine recently. And he's telling me about the in Japan the sword masters. I'm sorry. I don't have the terminology, right? But the different schools of sword fighting where you have grandmaster sword fighters that they're all the youngest guy in the schools now is like fifty because the young people. They're just not like Dale was saying, they're not willing to go through the torture. I mean, you have to to become a grandmaster in some of these forms. You have to have one hundred wins under your belt practice fights to the death. Of course. No one's willing to do it. And I mean, that's is that a real problem in martial arts Kerr tails. These schools, and I guess knowledge and teaching and passing some of these things on. Good question, number reasons, at the root of everything the reason, I created the American extension fighting is precisely because of what the Americanized version of traditional taekwondo show to con- whatever kind of karate, it's all Bruce Lee's to say it was crammed into story. So I decided that every single day we would post a different cake and write about the maker and we quickly had our favorites. So every day, poor, Donna had to find a different cake from a different person. But we started to repeat people because we just loved like Linda low Malino. What does she bake under? Forget her name, but she just let me cupcake. We're okay calm. Which is funny because her cakes don't look like someone who calls themselves call me cupcake. They're like little darker. I think she's evolved now just like I have. Ten years of blogging your your work tends to change and shift. That's good. If you have all after ten years, I had a chance to interview her actually for my blog, and she has a very sort of dark and moody aesthetic, but she's actually really funny a really like her favorite movie is elf. I hope I didn't think my family watches elf every Christmas. She always had this like this almost gothi. It was almost like a gothi cake thing. So we fell in love with you because explain what cocoa cake land is cake land. It's my blog, and it sort of encompasses bright colors and fun, but also a lot of jokey nece and feminism and just personal expression. I guess it's a real sort of mix of my personality and the stuff that I like, I guess. And the this that that I that I sort of moved towards is very optimistic if I had to pick one word Ozzy. Pasi core. Yeah. Where'd you just say Pasi core is just like Ozzy court. What does Passi core. Positively. Oh, Pasi core. I didn't even know that we're years. Did you make that up? I'm not sure. Okay. Possible that. So like norm core and. Yeah. All that's okay. Got it. Senate God came out of mcneese days or you know. Oh, okay. Okay. That's super clear on that. Yeah, so, but I realized I really know absolutely nothing about you accept what like we've hung out a few times and you're really, you are on Malaya was just here two days ago? Yes. You on that dynamite panel. So actually I should start just asking questions and stop talking, but I'm so excited. I haven't seen Lindsey sung in like over a year, asked me whenever you started to fire off questions. Okay. Where were you born? I was born in Vancouver. BC Canada? Yep. And I grew up in a little suburb called bear to be and then moved back to Vancouver after college. So I've been in Vancouver since well born many years ago, and since two thousand I've been back there. So are you friends with Justin Trudeau where we're not acquainted? No. Have you met him. No. Now you're like one of the most famous Canadians to us like us. So that's a very, yeah, not nobody else knows about me. Seriously. When did you start baking? Not till I was like thirty years old. Yeah, I, I got a kitchen aid for a wedding present for my my, my grandma who rest in peace. And then after that, I sort of got obsessed with baking. Yeah, before that not not much, not much else. So what was your sort of like I dunno approach to food and cooking before that? Well, you know, growing up, I actually didn't really do much cooking or baking, or really experimenting as as a kid in the kitchen. But my my dad was in the fruit and vegetable business wholesale business. So we always had fresh fruit around didn't have tons of sweets..

"We're kind of seeing this and there's nothing technologically to stop five or ten or fifteen more Terminator films all starring Arnold Schwarzenegger you know, going out way into the twenty. First of all, twenty. Second centuries we both know on is tunnel come on and fake news is perhaps the most serious application outside the entertainment industry. And actually when it comes to presentation of information with fake faces fake voices, is that were you? Yeah. I mean, this is this is something that people paid a bit more attention to and we we talked about the Barrack Obama example Elliott, but absolutely. I mean, you can use this as a very effective sort of foreign propaganda. In fact, there's a running among some may I research is at the moment is to whether we'll see this kind of deep fake video used before the end of the year. Let's go to the extremes. We can do this in the world head. How do you think this could go? What would the extremes look like? Will it all depends on how good the you could see a world in which Hollywood pretty conservative anyway, blockbuster expensive. So the business model is give people more of what the what they like. And if people really like Hugh Grant and wrong combs or on inaction films, you could just give them that forever. Well, you know, one thing it might do is make the film industry even more conservative. One of the the idea that was suggested to me was you could tater films for markets. So again, if you have an action film, you could have maybe Donnie yen in the lead role for the Chinese release, and then at an Indies in the US and Jason Statham in the UK you could even start to amalgamate people in work out. What's the platonic ideal say of wrong calmly? Then you take, you know, one bit Hugh Grant won that Kari grant and of mix it all together into some kind of perfect run connector, maybe even if there's enough computing power in your house, you could affil- become a switch of blank slate. Eight into which you can load anyone you want. Maybe you'd get a cheap version of the film that stars some unknown actor. If you want a more expensive one, then you can pay next five pounds. It all depends on how good this technology gets than for futures there. At least thanks very much. Thanks. Just to prove I'm not a computer created voice. I let out of the studio and I've taken a short trip to the showroom of Galleria. A few here in London. This field group has been designing and manufacturing glasses since nineteen thirty four. So perhaps is no one better to help look to the future for I were..

"And it seemed to be a lot safer to have white guys doing at junk Claude van Damme doing these moves rather than an Asian guy doing these moves back. Absolutely. I mean, Jackie. Chan, really didn't breakthrough in Hollywood until nineteen. Ninety eight was that Russia when Russia came out. I mean you had kind of rumble in the Bronx you had I right, come out, but they were limited releases and they would just mainly fool people like me who were Jackie Chan, fans who had grown up with films police story in project, and I've always found the Hollywood does seem to have like a kind of one in one out policy when it comes to Asian leading men. Jackie Chan comes in, does his thing, but he's kind of only limited to the rush hour franchises. Chaldean fat came in does films like the replacement killers, bulletproof monk, but he never breaks into the big time at the moment. Donnie yen is having his his time in the sun, but it you never seem to kind of get more than one actor headlining these kind of Hollywood films because I still think it's an ongoing problem in Hollywood. This whole issue of diversity, it is will religious like Hollywood or. Unwilling to kind of vol- the dice on a non white lead. But luckily we've have films like Black Panther that shows them that audiences. Wanna see something different, but in the nineties, of course, the main stars all sly Stallone Bruce Willis, Joan van Damme. And even someone like call weather's who we all love from predator and the rookie films his own franchise action. Jackson never really took off, which is a shame because that's a great film. Yeah. Well, it's interesting to think about Silvestre Stallone who becomes this huge action star in the nineteen eighties in a really isn't until I would say. I mean, you could probably make a case that rocky three might have set some of that, but first blood that's an action film, but it's also kind of cerebral as you're going along, but it's not until for me, Rambo for split per to eighty five, where he is just balls out action..

"Yeah, right so much about the putting this together, negotiating with the plot and all the various tropes we're going to be was about satisfying audiences around the world, which is a really difficult balance. And this movie weirdly did worse relatively in the east than it did everywhere else, right? It was not hugely popular. It was popular. It wasn't. Like it's not, you know, it made more money in America than it did. I was doing some Google in and I found articles from the year two thousand. They were like, why isn't crushing tiger doing the level of business? It is not as beloved in China's. It is everywhere else. I think the other reason I had a block with this movie when I was so young is like what you were saying that it was kind of like a de Jonah at this point to do this sort of like very. Epic, but there was so much like parodying of these types of films pop culture, and I was such a parody kid that I couldn't understand how this was more high art than the sort of things that I was seeing parodied are we sure about Wuxiu is like my my tendency is to throw a little Mandarin spit on their new show. No, I'm not. Get this place. Founding Terance. So here we go. Just going to Google it. I mean, that's, that's the thing this. There was so much just like mocking of like wire work. There's like scary movie this year, right on a matrix. Obviously, this has the same Fers that movie because it was this movie is playing in a in a mill you that is inherent to king who movies and Musha like the classics. But at the same time, the sensibility that you ping bring into it is a lot more modern. It's the same sort of like Baletic choreography finding like iron monkey or something like that. From with the Donnie yen, films the jet Li films ideas. So it was sort of it was sort of a lot of things that that audience seem before put together in a package that no one had ever really seen before is bringing a greater emotional depth to it like, oh yeah, they're each bringing something to sort of like elevate the the film genre to levels that hadn't really been out for only play on this. Oh, Oh, yeah. yeah..

"If there is a future where netflix could do that in the feature film realm like you know there's a lot of movies get announced by big studios and for whatever reason the student decides not to make it in the film makers are still interested in it wondering if they're there could be one day where netflix steps in and you know kind of see these these feature film projects from development hell yeah that's that's interesting and that seems like something that is a lot more likely to happen than like i would not be surprised if we start hearing stories like that very very soon like or even like franchises like not that this is a good example of a good movie but the triple x franchise within diesel you know was originally made at i forget which studio but then you know paramount picked it up and i think now vin diesel owns the rights and he's going to be developing his own triple x movies like maybe there are franchise out there that could you know be snapped up by net flix yeah i think you're absolutely right that's probably a good a good guest for one as well because netflix is really in the past couple years has i mean we've known that they've had like a full market saturation in america for a long time but there they've been making some moves to try to establish their international audience and tried to expand into global territories and the idea of the triple x franchises especially appealing to them i'm sure because the triple x return of zander cage brought in you know people like donnie yen and tony jaw like these international martial arts superstars into that fold so the idea that they would be a reaching out to try to appeal to brazilian audiences in chinese audience and all that stuff would make a lot of sense for netflix so i would not be surprised if that is like an exact thing that comes to pass in the next couple of weeks yeah let the let the keep an eye on netflix and what they're doing what they're moving to feel like so far.

"We got to talk about this new ones know of all of them goodness goody goody i mean it's definitely better than any of the prequels it's better than djeddai yeah i watched i've watched benjamin recently and unbearable no that's those are bad movies really bad like even even anyway yeah we don't need to relitigate the prequels everybody's grease no but here's really i think that the last jedi does something that is very needed we talked about this we don't get into it it does something was needed for the franchise the problem with star wars is that it is more abundant the rules set by george lucas in the first film are incredibly limiting if they want to go full marvel cinematic universe with star wars and they needed to open up that universe some the problem with these movies is they're just going back and filling in the dead air which is why rose was so refreshing was because rogue one even though technically it filled in some story gaps it was all new characters well except for talk tarkhan lay the main protagonist all new characters and they were expendable and there was no pretense that it would be their story continuing on it was a moment in time and it i think made the original troll g better it made episode for better knowing the sacrifice and and it did the fan service and brought something new and had memorable characters k to us oh kassian for the monk guy yes donnie yen i've felt like rogue one was the first one of the disney movies that took itself seriously in in a way we didn't throw in a bunch of cute cg rendered jokes that you know were just thrown in destroy that make the kids low here's the thing star wars has never been serious.

"So things in the gaming community past week have been some would say spicy due to sh sir the bell is not on the table thankfully it is behind tim so cool so that was a the gaming one of the movies that i'm looking forward to that is not coming out for like two more years and is the live action muyuan remake or not even remake the live action movie lan so on board for the film and there's some huge casting news recently as soon as they announced this immediately people are like disney is going to whitewash everything disney sucks valid they i don't know if they've done that well the thing is when when they were first announcing of disney's done that they a fair criticism disney true but not recent live action that's what my recent stuff now but i mean that that kind of gut reaction and that fear dizzy valid smart they're not doing that dizzy knows what they're doing now but like with aladdin they're remaking that started casting people of color and it was like okay like they're on the right track with the move lawn movie they can cast donnie yen jet li and gong li recently so all three of those actors are huge profile not just chinese actors but everybody knows like donnie yen and jet li for sure gung liam and she was in memoirs of a geisha curse of the golden flower immediately recognizable but the cast high profile asian actors in the mulan movie i mean yes of course it makes sense but that was something when they started announcing it i'm a hundred percent on board with this i mean that's been disney's motto recently whether it be rebuilding of star wars or what we've seen with black panther with my main disney made the choice to put brown people in space major and not just one i mean like a weird that's the choice that they didn't have to make.
