The Running Back's Struggle
"Josh last time we had ESPN. It was to talk about fullbacks today. We're talking about running backs in our way through the backfield man just like Aaron Donald Josh firms. Meyer writes about football for five thirty eight Josh late last week. The Rams announced in a shocking move that they were releasing running back. Todd Gurley. This was a remarkable turn of events Given that girlie one offensive player of the year in twenty seven teen thoroughly. He was discussed by some people as an MVP candidate in two thousand eighteen on route to the Super Bowl led the league in rushing touchdowns that year. The ten the five untouched. To the end zone touchdown todd Gurley and on top of that. He's only twenty five years old. What happened my goodness twenty five year? Old running backs are already aging out. The first thing that happened to him was he has arthritic me. So at the end of the two thousand eighteen season he had to be replaced and spelled by Anderson Mentally played a little bit in the Super Bowl but he was just entirely ineffective. Fortunately that ineffectiveness carried over into the twenty nine thousand nine season and inbetween. He was given an extension that made him one of the highest. Pay running backs in the league. So this season couple that knee with his expense the caps situation in a loss Angeles and he just became a casualty and I think he is kind of an exemplar for everything. That's going on with running backs in the NFL. It's this idea of short and careers injury proneness and loss of effectiveness and therefore being cut or getting lower pay on the day that he was released. Espn stats and Info. Put out an number that I found fascinating in two thousand fifteen year. That Gurley was drafted. Twenty two backs were drafted. Not a single one of them. Josh is still on the team that selected them. What do you make of that goes to this idea of running backs? Having really short shelf life season for running back usually occur in one of their first two seasons at least in terms of productivity in terms of touches. You wear them down so quickly in this league. Though it's one of the toughest position on on the body and so I think the League as we've seen so far this year they still are kind of have a predilection overpay for the very good running backs are the ones that just had a good season but on by and large I think across the league. You're seeing people being really risk averse and moving on from running backs after a couple of seasons. When did you notice that that some teams not all and we'll get to some teams that have continued to pay running backs winded some teams for start to realize that they had been overvaluing the position and wanted to invest elsewhere. It's hard to trace it back specifically to a particular team but I know that People in twitter sphere and analytics the NFL analytics of talked about the replace ability of the running back position for quite a few years. The Philadelphia Eagles were one of the first on board to kind of spend money at the position but spread that money out over multiple players to kind of make the injury risks inherent in the position kind of spread across multiple sets of legs. The Baltimore Ravens are also one of the ones that the forefront of really just paying the absolute minimum that they have to at that position and actually getting pretty good production out of you mentioned that the analytics community was sort of early on this trend. What did they find? What did the data tell us about running backs really two things? Were most important about running the football. The results of run plays are primarily determined by run walking and defenders in the box. The defense and not who's carrying the ball because of that the finding is the inferences. They're running backs are interchangeable and investing a lot of resources whether it's the draft or whether it's free agency just doesn't make a lot of sense is also can be pinned on the changing nature of football itself. By and large. The data tells us that passing more passing. Early is more efficient right absolutely absolutely. I mean it's not even close in terms of the average value of a planet passing versus running on early downs. Then you still have to get into this idea. Of How much does it matter to the mentality of the team? How much does it matter to keep the defense on their toes? How much do you have to do to keep them honest? And so there's no question about how much teams should passing as a percentage of plays but is probably a case. They should be passing more than now. So are there any situations in which running the football is more advantageous absolutely? I absolutely you need to be able to run well at the goal line on Short yardage. If you have a running quarterback like Baltimore had last season definitely scrambling in design runs for quarterback are extremely efficient. Jackson will keep it on the read option expense at the thirty Lamar Jackson. Ted Pa Touch Lavar captain with the spin. This print Emma score. We saw what happened with Baltimore last year. They say hadn't run into that. Tennessee buds buzzsaw in the playoffs. They probably would have made it to the superbowl in my opinion. So there's definitely something to be said for the analytics and say stop running entirely and if you are going to do it do it with deception. Right off of play action. Get the other team guessing. About what your actual formation means and so they lose half a step in responding to what you're doing those are the kind of the things analytics pushes for not not whether or not you should be one hundred percent run or a hundred percent. You mentioned that Tennessee buzzsaw that beat the Baltimore. Ravens upset them. I think a lot of people point to that team to Derrick Henry and say see having a unique generational running back does matter. Look they upset. You Know New England in Baltimore. What would you say to that? I mean he got a twelve point. Five million franchise tag out of that performance. The back end of that year so I understand their point. They're looking at what just happened. They're looking at how he's being rewarded. No saying obviously matters but they beat another rushing team it the problem that I think the face the Ravens and we saw it with Kansas City. And how they didn't share. This same problem was that if you're built around the run whether it's by the quarterback or running it up the middle an wide zone like ravens did last season if you fall behind against a team that is also a ground and pound team in trying to control the clock and control the pace and you put yourself in a position where you have to come back. And you're not used to doing it or you don't have a quarterback quarterback that perhaps his is known for that type of play. You get what happened in in in Baltimore that night Jackson under pressure always lose ball stemming interception Jedi for the titans come up with another turnover hennessy. Titans are shocking the ravens whereas with the city chiefs they fell behind early three straight times but ended up winning the Super Bowl because they have a pass attack higher variants. You could make up ground easier with the passing game that you can with the run. When everything's working great rushing is the first thing you should try. And if you're good at it you should do it as long as you can but when it fails it fails pretty spectacularly and you need to be able to pass and in fact at the NFL level we ever parody is so prevalent that you really should just start out passing at that point because everyone's trying to run and everyone's trying to stop the run so the chiefs are sort of the analytics darling in this scenario because you know they passed their way to the Super Bowl. Josh they also have Patrick Mahomes right. So if you're a team with an average quarterback do you still think it's better to take a pass first approach in every NFL GAME? Even with a mediocre quarterback we find that they are better and teams are better and more efficient passing the ball and in sometimes. It's even more apparent when you have kind of an average or slightly above average quarterback because the defense and the defensive coordinator is almost sure you're going to not rely on them right. They're gonNA say well he's kind of crap you know. They're probably going to run out us all day long. And try and be safe with the ball so to the extent that you can put a mediocre quarterback in good positions like. Perhaps Tennessee did last year. Then you can take quarterback that had been floundering for years like Ryan Tannehill in. Turn him in to one of the best quarterbacks in the league the number one running back by the end of the season a guy that some people thought could have been the super bowl. Mvp was undrafted Damian Williams who is set to make just over a couple million dollars next year. How much does finance or the market factor in to know what we think about running backs today? I think you know if you're a casual fan. And you see everyone else. Basically on the team. Except for the punter and kicker getting more than on average than these running backs. I think it's beginning to percolate that. They're probably not the most important piece on the offense anymore. Things about analytics. Is that unlike baseball? Where like things got more boring? When analytics became involved when analytics can evolved in Football. Become more exciting. We want more passing. We want to go for it on fourth down. We want to know more so I one of the good things about all of this is that you see more aggressive more exciting football when it's played in the way that evidence seems to suggest it should
NFL Draft 2019: Notable Picks from Latest Expert Mock Drafts
"In reality isn't a difficult project. What is going to happen when we don't know in particular with this draft. We don't know what's going to happen. The number one pig came to get this thing over with. So he could really find out what's going on as opposed to all these different mock drafts that are out there. I'm right there with you. And I want to thank you for allowing me to come on the show. But it's a lot of group thing group three group out there. And that's the biggest thing that you see right now. It's a lot of my drafts. Everybody's just tired of becomes tired exercise. And we just wanna get it up to see the actually van happy. Now. How many have you done yourself, Jordan? I went back and looking I see one that was in January. Did you think that was your first one that was released pretty it's pretty close to what would be current stuff? Now, how many mock drafts have you come up with from January till now so I'll like to do one at the midway point before the combine. And then I do another one the week of the draft. So I'll be coming out with another one probably on Thursday morning. Okay. Now, how significant of a change would you have overall? He was certain things going to be changed. But the big the big pigs. You think there's going to be significant change from yours? The original ones. Now, I think there will be and I think it's going to start with calamari, and they both have those guys flip flop. Out in Nate both at the second big. And then we'll see what happens from there. Okay. So do you think your and we're talking about Jordan Reed and L draft staff writer for cover one host of the draft board podcast. You think for sure it is a foregone conclusion cliff Kingsbury in the Zona cardinals are going to draft collar with the number one pick. I don't wanna say it's a foregone conclusion because it at the same time last year everyone thought that Sam darnold was going to be the big to the Cleveland Browns just a year ago. So I think it's probably about seventy five percent chance of going to the cardinals. But we all know we just have to buckle up and see what happens during the drag because things could change at any moment. You mentioned some touched on before. Why does that keep happening years ago? It was Goff and Wenzel. They're not going to be top guys. Boom. What do you know team straight up? They go one to last year was all about darnold. Nobody knew Baker Mayfield gonna go number one. And then he did this year. It's all all about Murray, and even has to a certain degree where people were saying, oh has is going to be gone before. Let's say number six the giants pick. Now, all of a sudden, it sounds like not only may be there. But the giants may not even want them. They'll take Daniel Jones with number sakes. Why does that happen? Why are people so all over the place with quarterbacks in particular in these drafts leading up to the actual draft those quarterbacks other most important position, not only football. Sports period. It has nobody has a clue about football. They know exactly what the quarterback does and how they operate. So with that being said with these quarterbacks flopping over the past few months and even weeks, it just shows how much lack of infield that we do have. And we're not ineffective. So we're not supposed the curtain back and meet with these guys person or gets to know them personally. So we don't know what's going on in the mind that they've got them in or these other executives going on around the league, Jordan. I respect the honesty right there. You're right. Still fun. It's all about so fun to read about I get and we got to do it, and it's fun to project different things. But I guess the reality is without let's say, there's no Andrew luck there, and nobody knows for certain who's going number one without that. It's hard to project these things and the GM's arm can give anybody Dave Gettleman not gonna come out and tell Joe giant fan or whoever in the media what he's going to do it his pick. Why should he right? Jordan. Right. I mean, we saw Jon Gruden sin their whole scouting staff home. So it just shows you just how secretive these plans are and no team really wants their hands shown or what is going to be revealed on draft. They so I think we're gonna we're gonna see a while. Right. If I'm not sure exactly what the giants are going to do. But I think they're going to get a lot of backlash if they somehow don't find the quarterback future. Whether that's at six or at seventeen so let's get into some specifics here, we're talking about Jordan Reed NFL draft staff writer for cover one host of the draft board podcast. You mentioned you think the cardinals are going to take collar Murray with the number one pick. Do you think that's a mistake? I was talking before about how an organization can hire new head coach draft a quarterback in the first round last year guy. What was the best quarterback coming out less? Your Josh Rosen. And then a you later fire the head coach cliff kings, Mary you could certainly argue whether that was a good higher. Not. And I don't think it is. And now take collar Murray with the number one overall picks. Do you think will be good pick a good move for this car does organization? To keep that number one pick and take collar Murray. I think it would be and I say or I'll put it this way cliff Kingsbury, everyone likes to point out just how fancy as offense is and how well operated at Texas Tech. But it really didn't work like a lot of people were saying that it worked should have work and with cliff Kingsbury, he's probably gonna get gonna get one chance to be an NFL head coach and what better way into your guy in there. He has no ties to Josh Rosen. He was not there when the team drafted him last year, and he has he doesn't have a freelance relationship with him. But on the flip side with Colin Murray. We've seen him and his offense and everybody seems famous video circulating on. If cliff gains vary ever had the overall selection that he without question would say column, Mary so I think with Kyla Mary why such a great fit in this offense. If you think about all the great young quarterback that entered the league over the past few years and even going back to last year with Baker Mayfield. Sam Donald Josh Allen. Even Lamar Jackson to an extent all of them have have had one. Thing in common, and that's having the ability to create all script or being able to operate and when things break down, and that's exactly what column or is able to do. But with Josh Rosen and the state of Arizona Cardinals off it's a front. I think if they're able to select calamari he can kinda relaxed weakness that they have a front just because of the lack just because of the -bility he has to create scripts though, I think he would be a really good fit in Arizona. Interesting fascinated see a if they keep the big if they do in fact, take him and see what happens with Josh Rosen. And then obviously how it's going to pan out because Kingsbury Murray will be must watch to see how that works out for the cardinals. If in fact, they team up who's the team most likely to trade down from two or three there's a lot of rumors teams will to trade down on this. Good debt specially defensively. Do you see the Niners? Do you see the jets maybe trading out of their top spots here? I think the night is it gonna take if they're just because they haven't used need off of the they don't have anybody there. Now, they did trae for deport but they still need some help off of the age. I think they're sit along the interior would force Buckner Eric St. and now with Solomon Thomas transition inside. So I think they're fine on the interior but outside of D Ford. They don't have any other threat coming off the edge. So you plays both in there with that young up and coming into your your, and then you pair would be Ford. I think that would be a really good combination of front now. One thing that's a really interesting spot is the New York Jets at three because is very wide open out there that they wanna trade back just because they don't think there's a lot of value there at that. But they only have six peaks. So they wanna get back and maybe regain some of those recoup some of those that they had to trade for last year when they acquire them darnold. So maybe they wanna trade back and still get that edge rusher that they need even if Quinton Williams or Josh Allen is there. And maybe they have those guys graded similarly on their boards day. Okay. With trade him back. Maybe six or seven is still getting a guy like a month with or somebody of that nature. Now who would be the team most likely to trade up with the jets for number three. See that's the biggest problem because this similar to last year's draft is that there's no quarterback that teams wanna trade up for third spot like a Sam darnold from last year. So it takes two to party and with a trade. They don't have a partner right now. I think but maybe some team has Haskins on their board. Maybe like Cincinnati at eleven I could see them or Washington trading. Alway from fifteen up to three now with a lot of draft capital. But I'm just using example, we have teams that could straight up. So that overall selection, right? And that's why it's intriguing when you look at what the jets having that number three big rumor to be wanting to trade out of it. I mean, if they don't think that Alan is war that I don't know what they're thinking there. I wanna get more picks back. Maybe get good players. Let's say the do trade, in fact with the giants team that, you know, look, it was rumored last year that that could possibly happen is rumored again this year. Because the giants won't their quarterback. Do you think the giants need to trade up from six to get there the quarterback that they want? I know Gettleman throwing out a lot of smokescreens here. But ultimately, do you think has gains or Jones will be there at number six for the giants thing Jones definitely will be and odd just don't really know about Haskins right now. Because last week we saw that he was going to be a top five selection this week. They're saying, right. Fifteen. So there's a lot of rumors out there. And we really don't know. But if the giants won't be sure I think they should trade up to the third spot to secure their guy. Just because if easier guys go hitting trade up and get him and don't wait on anybody. Just in case team jumps you. And now you're gonna be stuck maybe reaching on through lock or even Daniel Jones who do you like better out of those? I'm assuming you like Murray the best out of the quarterbacks. Give me your take on Haskins Jones. So I have it Murray at the top. And then I have happiness, and then I have locked and then have Danny Jones right after that. And I'm a big fan of the top two guys in Haskins emerge. And I say that because they are a bit different as far as this guilty. I don't know we talked about earlier folks here. What I love about him is. Yes, he's a one year start.

"Seven sixty six sixty six jets will not win three consecutive games at MetLife stadium. They fall to the Minnesota Vikings game that was far more competitive. Denny final score would indicate as the Vikings now. Eight thirty seven to seventeen winner in the jets fall the three and four on the year to concern for the jets the second and the third quarter performance of Sam darnold the win being a factor. The snaps being a factor that guy's not helping them out. I mean, it's a variety of different things here. But it comes with the territory for those jet fans basking in Donald's gory and his brilliance last week. You have to be willing. And you have to be accepting of what you had here on Sunday. Centaure was that the only reason jets lost the game? Well, no. But I'll go back to that sequence in the third quarter. Why this game was still manageable? And I know that there were special teams issues. I know there were lapses in coverage. I know there was some monumental mistakes. Whether it's Todd Bowles at the end of the first half, not using his timeouts, but you feel like is a to score game with the jets moving the football that right? They score touched. And all of a sudden get back in the game. It changes thanks to seek Crowell and Tomlinson. Twenty three passes. Hit him right off chest right off the hands thousand point in the game. Where I knew Emma heart-to-heart. It's not the jets. You can't expect to support a rookie quarterback that way and the unfortunate nature the jets. I now you should be still beyond thrilled with what you have moving forward at quarterback. Well, you now is to build an infrastructure around because as you saw here on Sunday that infrastructure as compared to a team like the Minnesota Vikings is just not wearing these big. Let's put it off we head to mount Holly, New Jersey are good pal. CJ starts 'Self here on a foul itself. CJ? Very tough football. Each vote. Tell you. In big trouble there. Well, you ain't kidding CJ. That was a brutal week brutal. Stay game Saturday against Utah. Losing quarterbacks left and ride not seeing the progression. Not seeing the program getting back to the heights that you thought they were about to achieve when Santona was there two years ago. Yeah, I think there'll be a lot of people down in southern California wondering if Helen is the right coach, I agree with that. That's fair. Speaking. Favorite quarterback, Donald Josh? And the worst thing that's. Ties. Coaches who. This year as well as Zona. I think one of the young quarterback gets even worse in Arizona because David Johnson is there you still have Larry FitzGerald there. There were a competent offense last year when Bruce Arians was coaching a team, and yeah, they've already fired their offensive coordinator what seven games into the year. So very curious to see what Byron left which the former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback is going to have in store drawn up supplies for Rozenich company. I wouldn't say necessarily CJ that it's been a total debacle as far as Donald development work. Have. I've been throw with Jeremy Bates. No have there been plenty of weeks. I've come on the air not killed his play calling going back to what we saw in the Jacksonville game. Go back to what we saw in the Kremlin game. Yeah. It was very critical. Yeah. It was all from. But at the end of the day CJ, you will get Donald and you look at Rosen right now at least early at least right out of this. Shoot. It seems like Donald fall more comfortable to be starting games week after week isn't that fair? Yeah. I would agree with that. If you look at what's going on right out. The absolutely have no weapons over there. You can't go into a season. And it does bring it back. Who else? It is. Get some big play makers on that team. Next step is a racist. Well, that's not wrong. CJ? Look, they will definitely add to their Kupa playmakers. They have salary cap space. You know, they're going to look to bring in a no, you know, the young player or two within the draft. But when you take away guys from this roster who contributes like a Blau Powell who's very important thing about the way, the jets ran the football games. Minnesota tougher a rookie quarterback in the wind to win without a running game. San Doran didn't have that think about having Quincy noon wa at how important Quincy noon will has been for this offense. You take him away. You don't have that security blanket. And the jets said goodbye to row prior who was beat up with the injury and whatnot. But guess what CJ you got back to last week against the Indianapolis Colts. I know he's not a big time receiver in this league. But if I'm not mistaken, Terrell prior had a couple of big play. Raise your right? Really? Jacksonville before a real quarterback situation. The second half the year, Cody Kessler. Every trouble. I slipped through way trade to the Jacksonville Jaguars happen. Look, it would sound kinda crazy to suggest the giants trading quarterback in the middle of the year. And then that quarterback going and playing elsewhere. But if the giant situation continues down this road, and they end up losing our Monday night, and then sends up being a year where you fall the one at six you'll fall the one in seven then. Yeah, if I were the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tom Coughlin Doug Marrone. I would absolutely positively beyond the phone because here's my problem CJ. And I said this going back to the off season. I can't win and I can't win big with Blake Bortles as my quarterback. I can't do it. That's why I was so perplexed. That's why I was beside myself in the off season. When Jacksonville basically said where good at quarterback where okay with our quarterback situation being awarded. It is. I buy it for a minute. I like the idea one bit. And what you're seeing? Now CJ is the results of that decision. Because the Jaguars are not going to be a team that can win and win deep in January with this. Steph Bortles their quarterback. You can't do it. Season. At the future. Derek carr. I think it's a Georgia still. Would get rid of car. I think it's a perfect setup. Joyce season off-season. The raiders Herbert. Depend on what the raiders wanna do CJ. And appreciate calls always of the raiders fully committed to Derrick Cora quarterback. I know the answer. Question. How do the raiders feel about Justin? Herbert do. I think the raiders are going to be picking at the top of the draft. I do I think have a nightmare season. As this Friday doing TV over there. Why said it yesterday doing the overnight show? I think the giants would actually be in pretty good shape. If their quarterback next year, I'm not one of these guys that has soured on Derek Carr because of what's gone wrong here with Oakland this year. I know he regressed a little bit last season. Offensive line wasn't as good Cooper was absolute nightmare. There could still playing this league. I'm still a firm believer that he is a quarterback. We saw two years ago before he broke his leg as opposed to the quarterback that we're seeing with this hideous Oakland team decision making is that where needs to be cork apply. See the giants decide. All right. We need new quarterback which they will. And it turns out. There course on the open market. I won't kill them for Brigham in. Now, actually, it would have my universal support. But we'll cross that bridge in the off season. And for Jacksonville. What they will try and figure out between now and what the trade deadline what end of October early November can find somebody to help a quarterback. Because if not I is going to go down as a very disappointing here. Let's head to the Bronx is up next on a foul is up. Jay must live better. I just want to give you credit 'cause you call it. You said that. I do now man also referencing my alma mater, and his favorite team, the Syracuse Orangemen, isn't that? Right. Yes. Sir. I wanted to make sure the audience who you were talking about. But anyway continue. Yes. Yes. And with I believe Clemson now Linda table, and I think that range. After this after this club up with the the buckeyes look at that game at the end, I think. Michigan will take that conference. That's going to be a tasty treat against the book is the last game and Notre Dame. Date beat several Jews. I think the table. Undefeated in some. I feel about that's lovely. Well, listen, Jay, I agree with you. I think Notre Dame by now is in the driver's seat. If they were on the table, they will absolutely play in the college football playoff. And yes with Ohio State getting absolutely demolished by Perdue. Perdue winning that game is a twelve and a half point underdog outright it now puts Michigan in the driver's seat. That is they went out and they go to Columbus impede urban Meyer and company Jim Harbaugh can win the big ten. Tim hall balking get Michigan into the college football playoff. But remember Jay, he's got some serious demons against our urban Meyer. That program has not beaten urban Meyer as long as he's been the head coach. So that's going to have to change they want to be playing in college football playoff. Okay. Okay. And with the NFL, I know I don't I don't know if you really do midseason by like give my pre seasonable point, I'm looking at this state of the state of the me, I got here. Know how you say the team with a record his my thing. I think that. Are the best team in the NFC despite the Rams with that? And I think the patriots team and AFC despite Casey without record. I feel about that. Look I can't on the New Orleans Saints, and I'm gonna sit this all year. Jay about the Angeles wraps. They'll well coached dare insanely talented. Damning gonna win thirteen games easy. This year. They're also a front runner team. And I'm very curious to see how the Rams when they have to deal with some of adversity when Agee kicked in the gut. Whether it's a late-season game or game in a month, January how they respond because I think Jerry is out on how they'd respond, and yeah, I tend to agree with you. I said at the beginning of the New Orleans Saints going to win the Super Bowl. They won't so good after they got smoked by.

"And a half get two to three games in and then then then know then it's the backup and everything like that so josh rosen is not is not expected to see feel that's the one thing about these quarterbacks all of these quarterbacks they're not franchise quarterbacks meaning that they can walk off a high school walker skis highschool field walk off a college feel and just learn the place in play right away you know what i'm saying you know what not nothing against them the game is the college football game has been become more simplified i mean everybody wants to get up and stopped the ball count they wanna look everybody looks to the sidelines they hold up those boards with the faces on them and they you know semester and tweedy and all of that that means something supposedly our know what but it tells them where to go what to do they don't do that in the nfl they call real place so sam donald josh rosen josh allen baker mayfield lamar jackson they'll be they'll be they'll be under studies for a while trying to learn this nfl game now when you're drafted number one overall that means you ready to play right away but i tyrod taylor's there i don't think i don't think the browns going gonna do that to to baker mayfield because like i said the worst team that means they're worst team for wreath means they don't have an office of line and.

"And the logic is this it's that you don't believe in sam darn old and josh rosen because if you think sam donald josh rosen are going to be franchised quarterbacks for ten to fifteen years then you need to draft him with the first overall pick because we all know the quarterback position is the most valuable position in sports so you can't pass up on roh's inner darnell if you do in fact believe that they are worthy of the number one pick in they could be a franchise altering quarterback but if you believe that baker mayfield or the march jackson or jazz allen is a better alternative than rosen or arnold then it opens up an opportunity we could get one of those three players at four and then it would allow you to take barkley at number one so that is what we need to know what the cleveland browns do the cleveland browns value and do they believe that darnell jinro's in could change their franchise because if they do i think you have to take him at number one but if they don't and if they think that they're not going to be a franchise quarterback and they like a mayfield they like a jackson they lie even a mason rudolf whoever 'cause you could trade down and they think that player is better or even josh alan you could get that player at four and justify taking say kwan barkley at number one sean curious to see how all these moves today do set up the draft which could give the browns a lot of good talent depending on who they want a quarterback and maybe they can also get sake one barkley and get their quarterback at number four but every year in this process we have a mystery teen that traits up but i think the team is tipping their hand early on to being potentially the mystery team and that's the buffalo bills because the buffalo bills have two first round picks two second round picks and to third round picks so maybe the bills use that in a package to move up some of those picks though keep allows those picks to improve their roster which we know they need to do even though they just went to.
