I dawson brought the character life in live action for the first time in season. Two of the mandalorian and that that's a lot like a backdoor pilot for this show. It's just like suggested that she had her own adventures. going on. this was not a surprise. It is a delight though. It is an interesting we. I think we talked about this earlier. The you know the fact that not to get too deep spoiler as they chee. She was offered a role to mentor. Baby yoda no. You really need to go somewhere else. They felt like definitely had that back door pilot vibe to because like i'm sorry i'm off to other adventures. I've got my own thing. Got to deal with and allow that did seem like a setup for its own show. I'm actually late my own. Tv show salena catch trade this game and it gave a pretty clear idea of what she was up to not to get into splutters between between that and the rebels finale. From a few years ago we have a good idea what her objectives are for this show. Yeah we don't wanna get too deep into spoilers. Maybe we'll we'll devote a whole episode of that later on this year to speculate on what what that might be both water. Somebody other shows that that were announced. It was the next big one we knew this was coming for a long time but they talked about a little with last night and give us a sense that or confirmed that it was filming next march And that christian hated christiansen was returning as dark later. Very very exciting news. That one definitely took me by surprise. tactic territory hidden christmas activator. That's that's interesting. As opposed to advocate skywalker. Which would suggest that he appeared in flashbacks as anikin. But saying he's vader would suggest maybe that he'll appear in four seasons or something that is unclear. It's definitely it's intriguing. Another property was with a character. That's near to many star. Wars fans hearts landau gets his own show yet. These were ten on the ground because we don't know if it's going to be live action or a cgi animated series. I feel like donald glover should be involved. Because he was so well received solo so fingers crossed that he will be returning and then there are a long list of other ones kind of run through them really quickly because we unfortunately only have so much time on this podcast okay so there was the ropes quadrant movie directed by patty jenkins of wonder woman fang which is really exciting. That's super cool. That'd be a fighter pilots. There's the bat batch which will be a follow up to the clone wars at those cartridge orig- use there. There's adore which is about caffeine door from roquan. There's tyco tgi movie which we still don't know what that's about our coop concert raiders of the republic. Which is set around the time. Line of the mandalorian and could be about current june because she became a marshal of the new republic but again that remains unclear star wars visions which is automated shorts from abbey craters. That's really cool quite different the acolytes which obviously is that almost excited with the malls because that is set in the era of the high republic which is two hundred years before the phantom menace. And it's like about some sort of a dark site warrior and it could reveal stuff about the Era some different cool. So those a lot. I know being a super star wars fan. I want to get your opinion on this. Is this too much star wars. It certainly was too much reward announcement. I think parceled out over several years. It should be okay especially since the movies will be quite so frequent. Like i remember when it was only like six months between the last year and solo that felt overwhelming with tv. It's a little different as so you can kind of watch out. I'm at home in a more relaxed environment. it's a lot of star wars. There's no escaping that. Yeah yeah yeah i mean. Brian made a good point before we start recording that you know a lot of these might be one off shows ryden. Obi wan will probably be a one-off sled that that kind of makes sense that they'd wanna have this pipeline but it was a lot to digest all in really what was about thirty minutes a thirty minute presentation just for the star wars section. They're just kept pumping out one announcement after another rapid fire a lot but also i think that's partly a function of the fact that they're no conventions this year star wars celebration was

Nominations For 'Golden Globe Awards 2020' Announced
"I said it is all about numbers the golden globes the big deal in TV and movies and everything else because it's kind of the it's not a kind of it kicks open the door for awards seasons for one to the twenty twenty golden globes are plenty of snobs and then there were some that did well there's a show on apple TV called the morning show it got the best drama nomination Jennifer Aniston Reese Witherspoon got nominations for Best Actress in the television show the two popes got four nominations I'm not gonna go through this whole thing don't panic best motion picture Best Actor motion picture drama screenplay August of Supporting Actor UF The Lion King is nominated branded as a live action remake it got nominated for best animated picture and of course the lying king is the Disney classic is a remake with Donald Glover and Seth Rogan think voices voices voices but maybe it's because of the classic that there's something about the classics and turning to the classics that has people intrigued I'm not sure
Forty Five Minutes And Fifty Six Percent discussed on Joyce Kaufman
"Right what we hear and so far because I've heard make stuff about the lying game yeah it's getting sort of a mixed reaction from the critics at the very least I think I kind of understand where they're coming from you know I I think it really depends on what you're looking for in a lion king remake yeah this is it this is the third of Disney's so called live action remakes of the classic animated films this year the first two being dumbo and Aladdin this one is definitely the most anticipated of the three people just love the lion king and this one have a pretty good great cast in Starz Donald Glover at the voice of Simba you know beyond say the voice of now you've got Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan who play to moan and quibble and they actually steal a lot of scenes they're really funny to Whittle at your for his car and then in sort of a nice little nod to the original you've got James Earl Jones who returns to provide the voice of Musasa and this is directed by John Fabbro he actually had really great success with a similar movie when he did the jungle book remake for Disney just a few years ago so it and made a lot of sense that they'd get him to do this one as well and to his credit the movie looks mind blowing the good everyone who's seen it agrees with them absolutely a technical Marvel how this thing looks from the animals to the natural environment you know for example pride rock that that famous rock with a cold Simba to the rest of the animals that that actually doesn't exist in Africa that's a complete fabrication on the part of the the guy who designed the original movie and and everything looks so real it's it's incredible what they've been able to do you know the whole sort of gimmick of the movie was that I was supposed to be a reinterpretation of the lion king with photo realistic animals and they have really gone sort of above and beyond to accomplish that but I think it does also kind of pose a problem at least for some people because you know the nineteen ninety four movie with a cartoon and that kind of allowed them to superimpose very human expressions on to the animals so they were angry or sad or happy you could really see it in their faces but you know obviously rely and they don't really smile like that or cry like that so their faces kind of end up looking fairly the same whether they're angry at someone or singing accrue the macabre so in that sense the photo realism does in my opinion kind of rob the movie a little bit of its personality but aside from that there also aren't really any changes to the story it's almost a shot for shot remake of the animated version although it does feature a few new songs that we didn't get the original and produced a number of critics that was also kind of a disappointment so with all of that said the movie is currently at fifty six percent on the tomato meter and I think whether or not you enjoy it will depend on one thing do you essentially want a shot for shot remake of the animated we but with super realistic looking animals instead of cartoons or were you hoping that this might be kind of a fresh take on the story and sort of the same way that John Fabbro did a few things a little differently from the original when he made the jungle book if you're okay with that being basically the same movie but pretty here then this is exactly that you will probably love it a lot of fans of already chimed in and said that they had an amazing time at the movie and again it looks fantastic but again if you were hoping for them to do something a little more with the story to sort of justify remaking it or you know even come at it from a fresh angle you're not gonna get that here so you know this is very much a your mileage may vary kind of the situation no it's interesting when you bring that up that way Ryan's for somebody like me yeah you know my kids love the movie right so I probably wouldn't watch it just on my own so I don't even know what my explanation is other than if we decided to go see the movie or if it's in a few months and I'm watching it you know as a rental it's kind of like irate am I entertained by it and I had even thought of what is my expectation you know what I mean which is like is there a rule or not and it from the trailer I'm like wow that looks stunning but I do wonder after about forty five minutes to an hour if you're like well I know how these roles and there's no silent there you know I don't know what it'll be like I'm not
Film Critics Have Mixed Reviews Of "The Lion King"
"To this and the R. says the new line king remake is more like creative dead and then circle of life the rear says we're debating the lying king in twenty nineteen why and then deadlines as The Lion King feels like the love tonight previews shows ringing up twenty two million to twenty five million us it's interesting is this whole story of The Lion King Jon Favreau is the director of this one the budget was two hundred and fifty million dollars the music was harms America who put it together and we'll see where who's a little village a lot of a lot of people are trashing and other people are saying it's not that bad is because once again do you know the whole remake thing how many times you do it so Seth Rogan isn't it Veon say isn't it Donald Glover and some other names I think that you would probably recognize as well and we'll see how it does its P. G. from adventure one hour fifty eight minutes if you have kids the probably the lying king doesn't matter they'll go and see that and they'll probably love it
Disney, Nala Donald Glover And James Earl Jones discussed on Bald Movies
"Latest live action cash grab the Lion King directed by Jon Favreau and you know I never would have guessed that the man who breathed life into a multi billion dollar franchise but taking a third tier marvel property like iron man and taking passion for source material I I never thought that he you would brought that same passion to the Lion King and you know what I was right because in my opinion this is like the most of all the pointless Disney remakes this is the most pointless and the one that comes off the shabby shabby as compared to its source material Jim. What did you think and maybe talk about your personal relationship with the Lion King of any so I think the Jon Favreau had quite the passion for the source material because he just recycled it and not in like the way where you I don't know take something you have? It's old fashioned into something new. That's useful in a different way. This was the lion king like this is the most Lion King Lion King movie <hes> outside outside of the Lion King I mean the thing is is is the lion king. Only all of the animals were injected. The Boat Docks Yeah Animation <hes> that's. That's the only thing that was different about this movie in any way right. There's one hint of new song none of the plot points or any different than the lion king you remember from ninety four. It's all the same it's just a it's just a cross aboard worse version yeah and completely like you said unnecessary. I think this is like the thing I liked about. Aladdin is Kinda took it a direction and modernized it updated five the problem. The parts were little creaky and little stale where we've moved on as a society they've kind of you know propped it up and they didn't try to like out Robin Williams Robin Williams on the genie whereas this it's like. I don't understand how the animation tests came back for. These animals father wasn't like okay we gotta ditched his documentary approach and have these lions smile. Give him some fucking eyebrows house allow on the show some gene grief and rage because we know I've seen the lion king many many many many times and there's a couple of scenes where you're you're geared up to anticipate and it's exactly. The same lines exactly the same framing except for Simba's faces a grim frozen mask that is capable of showing anything other than way honestly my house cats more expressive. I that's the thing that really really surprised me and I saw a listen problems with that in like some of the trailers I saw but like I don't know I mean it's this isn't a bad film in fact honestly the first five minutes. I actually started thinking well. Maybe I'm wrong because it gave me the exact same goosebumps that intro of the Classic Lion King Circle Life Yeah <hes> but even then it's like there's a couple of parts or like you know like there's a couple of things that you you know you can do in animation like when you blink and step forward and sun you can have a baby draft. Blankets is in this. I mean if they did that with his baby. Draft who the fuck knows because baby drafts don't blink in the sun it turns out it's almost it felt like one of those Old Walt Disney movies like <hes> <hes> what is the journey home or whatever where the actually take a real poppy in a real cat kitten and or they have like little bound very tightly homered ban yeah they make a movie around around like their natural expressions and stuff <hes> but there's just I don't know I mean I didn't really pay any attention to the casting like I didn't know anybody <hes> and there's <hes> great great cat like you know the Simba Nala Donald Glover beyond say knowles stats a fucking dynamite combination like John Oliver as the Domo's as zoo is pretty inspired casting the return of James Earl Jones James Jones. You can't do better than that. I thought that <hes> Billy Eichner as to Moan was really good eye Eric Andre I know seth th- Rogan is Okay Yeah Eric Andrea one of the hyenas I I mean I said it's just I mean we can talk about it the scene by scene point by point and the trailer earn the spoiler section like do I want to on this one because if you've seen the Lion King you've seen the entirety of this movie. It's just like they changed a damn thing. No they range all all the life yeah. Apparently the animators didn't get to note that the scene. Can you feel the love tonight actually takes place at night not at noon just many many references to it being evening and being nights and then it. Blend smoothly into another night scenes really pivotal and what the fuck what the fuck why are they why are they having animated these lions in broad daylight. I don't know because you can. They're more expressive in the day. I don't ever more expressive in the day. That's the only thing I think of is the other thing is speaking of that. I defy you to tell any of those lionesses apart <hes> yeah lights off in the cartoon version. There are subtle variations in color facial expression oppression. I mean they're all kind of unique individuals. At least you know the Nairobi and Nala and the ones actually have speaking roles this like they literally all look the same and when Simba's fighting scarred there's many time I lost track of WHO Simba who was scar and they found it hilarious that these battles are so bloodless. I don't know how you get a name like scar. If nothing can cut your skin I know 'cause like it'd be like it's cannon that Mu Fossa awesome fucked him up the part of his ear off and really hideously scarred him so but yeah you can't do that when <hes> although to realistic you can't do I was kind of put off by the mature subject matter. They're they're. They're saying the F. A. R._T.. Word heard they are in case. Let that slide through yeah yeah really risk and is this P._G.. I don't know it probably is it wouldn't be stupid like whatever the whatever the original was here. It's the same because it is is the same so so. Maybe I'm a little harness movie but I actually this was the very first Walt Disney animated movie I ever saw because I my mom was a religious nut job the type of religion I mean there's lots of different ways to be a religious just not job as a parent but <hes> her particular nutjob Orie was magic anything magic and I'll add in allow <hes> sleeping beauty no little rain when the fucking sea he which get Outta here those legs are mad. I remember the look my sister and I gave each other when Rafiki started doing medicine Monkey Shit and we're like Oh God and my mom's is started twitching like us a spiritism. Does a spiritism like she's please do not storm out of that we we. We begged her to take her come on the line game. There's no magic there's no warlock in this fucking monkey starts. Doing you know the the magic adjacent shit he starts doing like some kind of weird monkey and melon based divination a nation he starts doing martial arts karate at the end which is the other kind of spiritism adjacent but it was near and dear to my heart because I that's the very first and I remember just like just like being just completely amazed at the opening act. And really moved when Fossa dies and like also we had that movie I was the only Disney animated movie for a long long time that we had on V._H._S. and my brother and sister and I kind of wore it out over the course of a summer so I'd fucking love this the Super N._S.. Lion King Okay. I don't think I ever made it past the third level because it's freakishly hard but there's a lot I have a lot of affection for this source material and Dan I just to me they should have cleaned it up that those prints as shiny as they could make him they should've completely redone to sound and just re released it because this is just you know Lion King's Tinton movie. This is like six attitude execution of that movie. This is a high school musical version of the Broadway version of the Lion King. I could see that yeah. I didn't find it offensive. I found that it was in in maybe everything except for the expressive -ness of the characters was just as effective as the original was but yeah it was entirely unnecessary. This is a fairly obvious cash crap. I didn't didn't feel that way coming out of Aladdin. I know a lot of people didn't feel that way coming out of beauty and the beast and you know the the Dumbo did People Watch Dumbo. Nobody watched dumbo right everywhere. I heard it was pretty fucking shitty. Yeah I didn't see it. I didn't either her because I heard it was pretty shitty and guess what you've got Milan coming down the pike. I don't I've never seen Milan. I mean it's a fine. It's it's it's probably one of the lesser of the new golden age of Disney like it's kind of their into Pocahontas level level where it's like animation still amazing songs that nearly as catchy core concept not as solid and I've heard that they're actually a skewing the songs more or less in Milan and just like a straight like a straight drama weird. I could be wrong on that but I just. I don't know I it. It's it's not it's so cynical. I said cash grab because it's it's not it's not just a blatant redundant cash grab. It's just a pace. These does relentless Klis pace that they're that they're doing them into. I don't understand why we need. Five remakes of Disney live action Disney movies in a single year and I don't even know if it might be more than that like. I don't know if they've got. They're going to sneak something out. Pass them along before Christmas. I don't know I don't know they just cast a little mermaid. I I don't know how far that's that that's behind but who's playing Sebastian. I don't know okay. That's my biggest question about that movie. Maybe Ahmed Best Okay Yeah sure thanks Yeah Sebastian yeah he so Whoopi Whoopi in the under the sea yeah love song so I got some more stuff to say 'cause I got. I actually Kinda WanNa actually KINDA WANNA break it down so you might say because he's keep on saying that it's shot for shot for Lion King and that's my biggest problem is is that I don't think it is. I think they're I mean they try not shot but beat for beat. Story is one hundred percent every bit of the staging is is noticeably inferior and worse than than the than the the original and some of the things that like what they did to be prepared is a God damn criminal travesty. That's one of my favorite songs from the Lion King and I've never seen a more dispirited parroted punting of a musical number then than I have. I don't know Jimmy Nicholson who I considered. The foremost expert on Disney films on the Internet suggested that there's also a muted quality due to vocal performances like everything everyone's kind of like instead of like even James Earl Jones instead of just like because I remember I I can I can hear in my head exactly how he says. Nobody messes is with the year old band or I can. I can hear like they. They just didn't quite nail it and her theory is they had to have all the actor scale back because if they were as a motive as the original lion king it would look wildly out of place with the animation style and it's like the one thing that you could have gone ten for ten and let like Donald Glover and beyond say and James Will Jones uncork and actually you know she would tell Chew Hotel Jia for <hes> who I think is an amazing actor. He got the world's most laid back quiet unassuming scar and it's just a shame because he's trying to follow giant. Jeremy Irons plays one of the the all time Great Disney villain voices and it just. I don't know
Is 'The Lion King' a fascistic story?
"Comes as you watch the herbivores congregate to bow down before their newborn ruler blanking offers us is inductive world view in which absolute power goes in question where the weak and vulnerable are fundamentally inferior in other words linking offers us a fascist ideology writ large there seems to be No Way Out for the forthcoming remake the first thing to understand that the wind king is that it isn't in any way that winds or any other animal species no it it it kind of is and it says so in the title The Lion King and then also there only animals and no humans in at it's amazing how the west will struggle to say that certain things are not metaphors and then they'll immediately say that this is a metaphor for fascism on earth as in everything below a variety of cute and cuddly figure stand in for human societal organizations mapping internalize social hierarchies on he's pristine and neutral world and the animal kingdom renders these power dynamics natural common sense and desirable because of first of all what should be real about the animal kingdom lions eat zebras it when they're called the king of the king of the forest king of the jungle it is a better thing for quite awhile and that is because the line is the apex predator in this particular scenario that's how they sure I using the predator prey relationships to Allan Grice human power it's almost inevitably incorporates the white supremacist world view so now believe it or not the argument is that the lion king is about white supremacy now last I checked move faster his voice in the wind came is James Earl Jones who is black Simba in the room in the remake is played by Donald Glover who is black nala who is his wife is played by by and by Beyonce say who is black Sir Robbie whose mom is with alpha Alfre Woodard who is black James Earl Jones is still move asa and still black
Donald Glover discussed on Lori and Julia
"We're getting a little taste of the live action, reboot of The Lion King today, and that's courtesy of Donald Glover and beyond say, they are voicing the adult Simba and adult dollar, respectively, in the live action remake of The Lion King, and we're getting a tease of their signature song together, which is can you feel the love tonight? Again. Yes. So let's listen to a little bit of can you feel the love tonight, performed by Donald Glover and beyond say, from the upcoming Lion King. Reboots. You feel. I thought that was. Oh man. I'd be like, don't any on that one. Well, this is coming out to lie nineteenth. And I a lot of people are really excited
Summer Movie Preview
"The movies of summer twenty nineteen. What is out there? What's going to happen? And I've got to start by saying you think maybe that summer begins on your calendar near the end of June. But not in Hollywood everything in Hollywood begins early because summer is when they make all the money that they can make all year. So officially April twenty six it's the beginning of summer because the movie that opens on that day is called a ventures endgame. This is three hours long. Nobody's gonna care. I predict that not only will this be the biggest box office hit of the summer, but it will be the biggest box office hit of the year. You remember what happened last time all the ventures or at least half of them seem to turn to dust than die mean? Now have those ventures that are left to signing if they can beat the evil fan. He so evil will the adventures be wiped out forever. Look how much money did these movies make I'm saying why would you basically kill the golden goose? This is going to continue in some way, we all know it. So what else is out there? I'm looking at my list. There's a major thing going on now of in terms of taking the Disney slash Pixar animated classics and turning them into live action movies. So we have The Lion King line king. One of the most successful Disney animated movies ever is now being done as a live action movie. You have Donald Glover being Simba. You have James Earl Jones actually being this father and the same scores. They're the same using. And it's directed by John Fabbro who did such a great job with the jungle book doing the same thing that I think we can all feel optimistic about what's going to happen. And then we have Aladdin when we remember the. Animated movie who do we remember the most? We remember Robin Williams doing the voice of the genie. This time doing the voice of the genie and being the genie. We have Will Smith. So big stars in this big kind of thing, they tried it with Dumbo earlier this year, and that didn't quite work the way they wanted to do. But we're talking about lying king and the Ladan so big deal. Now, what terms of old fashioned animation is out there. I don't know if you're like me. But there's a Toy Story four toy stories always been my favorite of those Pixar. There's something about Woody and buzz light year, and you're probably saying to yourself. Well, and Toy Story three didn't it happen. That would he said goodbye, Andy. And he went to college, and it was all over remember. There was little Bonnie Andy gave his toys too. So we're going to have little Bo peep comeback. I think when you look at what goes on in Toy Story, you have that kind of feeling of goodness of field. Goodness, but done with all the magic of Pixar. So if those adventures out there are going to have a run for their box office money. I would say Toy Story. Four is going to be the one that does it. So what else we now have men in black men in black international? You're not gonna see Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones anymore. But this time you have Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. As new agents who are out there in this men in black universe. Sometimes you say to yourself do I want more of that? And you never know to actually see it. And I can only tell because I haven't seen this movie yet. But it looks like there's chemistry there. Then we have Spiderman far from home. You know, the Spiderman franchise never seems to end either. But we have Tom Holland who played him last time charmingly, I think, but now spider man, Peter Parker. They're taking a European vacation and the villain that they run up against is mysterious. Played by Jake Jilin. All I just think they're still some special sauce in the Spiderman universe, and I expect this one to also be a major hit. Godzilla Godzilla king of the monsters. I see that. And I go how much can they work this poor God's, but you can look at the trailer and see it. I like the idea that aside from viewer for Megan who is in it, Billy Bobby Brown from stranger things is in its she the dynamo. So if God Zillah can basically meet his match betting on little Millie to do something with that Hobbes and Shaw, this is fast and the furious you remember the rock of playing the the law man, and Jason stefon playing the outcast and the rebel these guys. I don't know if this is Hollywood kind of thing, but they tell us that Jason stadium and the rocked wing Johnson. Don't really like each other. And maybe that what the reason we love these characters and show so much because we liked that conflict. I don't know it seems a PR stunt to me, but I'm going to be there because this cars. There's the rock and their Stefa. So you're going to be there to and you know, it, oh and the big deal. Now, everybody has just in the midst of welcoming game of thrones back to their lives. The last season of that. You can't bear to live in a world where you can't see the stark sisters anymore. Well, now, you can dark Phoenix, which is part of the X men universe. Bring Sophie Turner, and she's Jean grey this character that we've seen before. But she's this younger version of her and she split between the good side of her and the dark Phoenix side of her. And to me, these girls are tremendously talented in what they do on game of thrones. And I think we're going to keep seeing them through the years, but her sister her at least game of thrones sister, maisy Williams is in new mutants part of that universe too. But in this case, they're all new characters to do this. They're all gonna be in the X men universe. Doing it. So that's it for the blockbusters that are out there. You've got everything from animation to comic book characters to everything. And that's the stuff that you hear about that your friends are going to talk to you about. But there's gotta be other stuff to part of summer is comedy of. I think we all really have gone through a long winter. And we're saying make us laugh give us something that will just make say, whatever. I can just sit back and not think. So what's there for that? There's a movie called longshot. This is a movie in which Charlotte Theran is playing the secretary of state who is running for president. But falling Manley in love with who staff throw in. Okay. It's like, a beauty and the beasts thing going on here. Seth Rogan is her speechwriter all of her people say what are you doing? You're going to destroy your career. But no, it's love. And if you don't laugh at the combination of Seth Rogan, Charlie staring. There's nothing left for you. And then we have the hustle. The hustle is a movie that used to be called dirty run scoundrels where the old days it was about conman. Now, it's con- women. They're played by Anne Hathaway and rebel Wilson. And they basically go all cross the continent finding rich people whose money they can steal pretty people. Glamour? What's wrong with that? Oh, book smart. This is directed by the actress Olivia Wilde, and it's about girls graduating from high school and saying we spent all our lives with our head in the books. Everybody else is going to parties and having fun. So they're going to do that beanie Feldstein plays one of them. She is the sister of Jonah hill and real life and Jona hill did super bad. This is kind of the women's version of super bad everything in it works, like a charm. You're really going to like that one. Then we have a movie called late night. This is about the TV talk show world and Emma Thompson plays. Probably the only woman on late night TV who hosts her own show, but she's got only men on her writing staff, and then she hires Mindy Kaeling who also wrote the screenplay of this movie, very very funny about what happens when you put women into what basically has been. A male bass they end of doing this. And the combination of Mindy king writing for the great Emma Thompson and watching them perform together is just so you've got to see that one to my favorite kind of thing. The dead. Don't die. You've got to admit that is a great and funny title. It comes from the indie, directing great, Jim Jarmusch. And it's cut people like Bill Murray and Adam driver by zombies. Okay. If Bill Murray is going to go out there and get laughs. Sizing up zombies. I'm going to be there watching him do it. So we have a good chance for laughs horror. I've got to talk about it now because it's not just the Cajun. Oh movie harm movie that makes money any makes people talk and get happy. It's they're everywhere. Now child's play do you? Remember the old child's play movies where you had Chucky. The crazy nut doll that. Always terrified me. Just. This doll who looks kind of little bit weird and freckly, but he has a voice on him like a longshoreman guess who's doing the west now of Chucky Marquel? Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker. And from what I've seen of it in. It's just been a little bit of it. It's wonderfully malevolent, so I'm going to be there to see that one. Then there's Annabel comes home. Another doll another possess doll also part of the conjuring universe where a viewer for Megan Patrick Wilson. Or the demon knowledge is that tried to make sure that nothing bad can come of this horrible doll Annabelle, but Bill will destroy and I will be there to watch her. Do it then them that follow their certain titles that get me them that follow really gets me? And it's about a snake handling church in Appalachia. No, they there are there colts. And they're almost religious cult where people pray. But they have the snakes, and they hold the life thinks pass them on. And you're thinking, what are you tell me about this like CD movie Har movie will guess who the star of this movie is the freshly minted Oscar winner Ogilby Coleman from the favourite, she's tossing those snakes around so irresistible. I think you're gonna love it. Then there's the Nightingale. See it's does not stop. It's har- everywhere. The night and gas from the director, Jennifer Kent who did a thing a couple of years ago called the baba Duke, which gave millions of people nightmares. And now she's back there following a woman who is chasing a convict got to be hooked. And then midsummer midsummer directed by REI Astor who last year gave us hereditary with Toni Collette, a really scary movie. Now, it's at a nine day Swedish holiday where everybody celebrates. But they'll be no celebrating after this one. So we. Got a lot of stuff out there. That's just going to scare us witless. And I couldn't be happier. All right. When summer comes. We think of all the things I've just talked to you about blockbusters comedy horror action, the rock of everything is there, but every even in a season like this. It's all about money and getting us into our theater, there are those movies that can come out entertain us. And also will hear about them at the end of the year when the Oscar nominations come out and the number one movie on that list, and the one that I haven't seen anything of India's of anyone that saw even anything past the trailer is called once upon a time in Hollywood it is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino its stars in order to Capri, oh as a TV star on the wane in Los Angeles. And Brad Pitt as his stunt double whoever thought of

She did she did look don't piss off a black a black mama bed. You never know. But she she called the White House as I said to her. What did you think they were going to say back? Did you go hauling four? What she did you call an answer to Cerro or like, Mr. Trump in. I what she just wants you choose maternal anger than needed to be expressed someone she wanted to go off and say, how dare you do this to my baby. And yes, so she called and was just like. I didn't know what result she expected, and it was funny. Because in the time sense anytime something happens like chice wears it might be a government conspiracy. She's like, I think are still on their radar when I went to the airport this happened. I'm like, I don't think checking I don't. I mean, I know that you know, under surveillance is 'cause you had like some issue because she she went back to school to get her masters. Right. She's almost like very close to finishing it. And it was some issue with student loan. And she swore it was the government. And I was like it's not the government, not they're not surveilling you. She's just like speak careful because you never know. Like, I'm not gonna say, let's let's hope not not a political figure. This is not going to happen. You must marvel looking back at what has happened to your life since then because because how would you explain to be when you say your life changed from one minute to the next. What are the details of that that people can understand and I'm gonna TMZ run up on me? Four times. I don't know how they found me. But they did, you know knowing that I have to think about that. When I land in LA now, it was crazy is like, oh, I actually have to think about teams eat my jump out on me. You know, the amount that I've been scrutinized. I've been walking piece, you know, and my friends in the business, they they crack up at the fact that outlets reach out to them saying, hey, can you come on and talk about her like this is so weird. Like what you know rooms word is very bizarre. And that's but it also honestly has led to some really cool experiences. Very cool experiences. And I've gotten to know people who aren't in work, I've admired from afar like Donald Glover, for example. Oh, that has to be surreal to you know, it is when celebrities tell you just know not just liberties that celebrity that celebrities whose art inspires. Yeah. When when that person takes an interest in your work, it's crazy. So I was at the Black Panther premier. And I think he walked up to me. And he was just like, I I love everything you stand for. And I was like, oh, my God is Donald Glover, Donald Glover know what you stand for. But he's. Did. And I believed him I'm just going with. And I'm like, yes. Don, I stand for that. Whatever that is. You're thinking that is something he could have been like she stands for captain crunch and Mars that Donald. So we get into a great conversation. We exchanged numbers, and we would take every now and again, and I was in LA and I get a text from him out of nowhere. And he's just like, hey, if you're getting this tax is because just want a couple cool people to come hang out, you know, no stress just chilling just vibe. And if you know cool people who you think I would like bring them to. I was like, okay. Sounds like how you would do that. Right. And he was like, well, you get to you get to this particular hotel like it was cold name. Secret, flew to go, right? It was Hollywood ever. Right. So that part of it was so I'd ask for the fake name..

Thurs invent he's he's the best character in because he goes because the beginning you think Darius is kind of he's like a fool counter in classical sense than literal sense. And you know, he's often making and you've kind of thing that's always, but actually over the course of sunny two seasons. He emerged emerges is actually probably the most intelligent character, but is super small has lots of insights strangely. Well, read, well from he gets a brilliant episode almost of his own in the second season where he goes and he gets locked up with imprisoned fair nearly killed in the mansion belonging to a teddy pack, say, just took a bit basic. He's in pursuit of a free piano, and he turns up at this really reading grand mansion in the middle of nowhere outside of the city. It's actually Donald Glover is net white it up. You stayed in character for the whole thing. And I didn't realize it was Donald Glover actually until I read why. Afterwards? Yeah, a little bit like gets out except to do with Michael Jackson and and and music coach. And you know, it's a very, very strange couches, shitty, strange, brilliant episode, which Darus is the heart. So you said you dad used to beat us. You'd be pm to be good life. We were a sacrifice. Joining like shit. Oh, you dad and not the member that seems a little unnecessary. Most people would understand my father used to say. Great things. Come from pain. I mean, that is one of my favorite episodes if not the favorite, just because it stands alone. It's a complete like the feeling that I have with Atlanta is it's it's a fable. It's fairy tales, and each episode is a fairy tale, and this one was like, get it was a horror got a southern gothic, horror. And having Darius as the the lead character in this could've been any one of them, but having Darius because he's never really been out of his comfort zone in any situation, it gave him a new depth that was just a joy to watch. I agree, totally about the fairytale fingerling particularly the second season. Every episode is a fairytale and it's actually almost the same fairytale counters get lost in the forest. Some cases they literally get lost in the first and some cases it's a metaphorical for us. So they go to a strange party with people not used to is a brilliant scene where the male characters get stranded or reasons in the front house populated by white friend, boys who have confederate flags on the wall and the middle of conducting a brutal naked hazing. I gotta give these pledges mudbath. Y'all need anything from the fridge? Yeah. Thank you. Kuban..

"For the dead pool series but if you read it you'll not realize that it's not something that he wrote for the series because first of all that would be a legal for him to share those scripts because they don't belong to him and second of all the script itself is basically a short dead pool episode about why the show was cancelled and in it contains plenty of cryptic and definitely not cryptic reasoning as to why marvel may be wasn't a fan of what donald glover was doing with the deadpool series it's a really a larry's and fascinating read it simultaneously gives us an idea of what donald glover would have done with deadpool and also lays out the problems that it seems that he had with marvel not being happy with what he did with the script go ahead no you got it i was just gonna say this contains a lot of references to things that have happened in the pop culture world in the past like twenty four hours of something so this is like you're mentioning it it's not something that was already written it's something that he essentially just wrote like on the fly right yeah exactly there's there's references to the recent viral story about beyond say being bitten at one of her parties that that tiffany haddish apparently started as a thing the whole episode itself is about deadpool being hired to protect sudan the last surviving northern white rhinoceros which is something that happened last week so there's plenty of stuff in this script.

"For having a mind my own i'm going to be a pilot invest in a galaxy okay so you probably you probably yeah that's a behind sell it's you know soloist hours story about inland so low um which is the urgent story of mr hahn solo may hear some he's on a captain of the moaning vulcan he's the best part of we smugglers and rebel leader love a princely his life but that lake who cares that's not even close us par while i mean heidel is pretty grameen congratulations to han solo yet get your a movie wonderful a lot of people are freaking out about something better little something i like to call a donald glover as lando calories ian oh my gosh though year yes that's big news speechless here which is unfortunate because radio said we can't be but i would like to have like twenty minutes suggest silently think about it so he's hohns best friend have you guys haven't wash the series i can't really help you out but i'm going to try and say responsibility williams he there was a very controversial story line in the empire strikes back he's old buddies he then comes through transfer resistant donald glover is playing him so people if people don't know who donald glover's gear i'm a little bit of gladly so donald glover you might recognize them from television thanks to atlanta and that's his serious or community and he's also a grammy award winning raffarin singer childish gambino so it fantastic well it's i know donald gover from community that's where i first met him yes and he was hilarious yes but how do you think he can make that.

"You know even in a julia louisdreyfus is always sort of a walk for veep frei and i think she'll probably win again but there yes people that could you know there's people that could unseat her she went to three times in the past for veep inertia one for seinfeld also but i think two or possibly three times raga should i think so and and even the show which has one countless award a few times um i think it his up against i think atlanta has a good shot the fx show with donald glover so there's there's all this like these little things that could sneak in you now in the best drama handmaid's tale as we've heard we've heard a lot about that with a round we've got a lot about that but stranger things might sneak in there as a totally different you know of show that that just had so much buzz around for so long and everybody's now excited about season is coming later this year and so i think it's just it's it's interesting when a shirt when people know that a show is on its last season like he has one more year and then it's done so does that make voters say well this is the last chance will ever have to vote for her for somebody else or does that a player it might make some but i would think that show has one so many times the that's probably not a factor next time around but you know there's there's also that thing like with the best actress drama robin wright has been nominated a bunch for sakari plus the kurds never psalm minute of but i don't think she's one and this year she had a really good story line so you know it might be her year but then she is up against elizabeth moss clervoy was queen elizabeth an and the crown so so you know there's another because she could be the sentimental favourite because our what's finally give it to her here then you have this juggernaut of of those two who have been talked about on equal measure you now so it's kind of hard to say you say a very tough category is best comedy actor yet donald glover he mentioned earlier fruits leinna jeffrey tampere who's won a couple of times very good actors elephant actors who insanely good as.
