Sen. Chris Coons believes John McCain and John Lewis each left us an urgent message
"Chris coons welcome back to the PODCAST. Great to be on with you again. Jonathan. Let's start with the debate between president trump and vice president biden in Cleveland. You were there in preparation for a column that I wrote about the debate was looking for pictures as saw a picture in our system of you sitting in the audience in a mask and the look on your face even in the mask told a story talk about what it was like being at that debate in also given what we know. Now, what was it like being at the debate? Look it was bad enough with what we knew at the time Chris Wallace is someone I respect as a tough interviewer as a capable moderator. Struck, that from the literal opening sentence president trump was bullying him was insulting the audience was razzing in her racing. The former vice president did not in any way at any moment recognize or respect the rules that he agreed to. For this debate, I've been an elected official. Twenty years have been active in politics thirty. I've been to my share of rough and tumble debates particularly at local campaigns and I've had my share of unconventional onus but that was unbelievable. It was simply awful to sit through the rush the raw force of the negative aggressive insulting interrupting. Energy directed by President Trump at former vice president, Biden and the audience and our country in the world. One of my sons immediately following the debate texted me. They must be cheering in Russia and China the team of us that were out there to do sort of post debate spin rapid response for the Biden campaign were just silent as a group for minutes. Afterwards, it was really hard to endure. So Joe Biden Dr Jill Biden former second lady Joe Biden was about ten feet to my left and Mark Meadows and Don Jr. about ten feet to my right. And it was striking that they all walked in unmasked and sat there without masks through the entire thing even as staff person, I think a staff physician from the Cleveland. Clinic. Came around and try to get them to wear masks and it was striking to me at the time just how sweaty. Read how angry trump seemed through the whole thing. Later, when we learned that he was infected with Covid, nineteen may well have been covered positive for that debate. It added a layer of the and seriousness to the fact that he was literally yelling at Joe Biden for ninety minutes from a few feet away. I. Got Tested twice actually once rapid s one. The PTR test both negative, and then waited and waited hoping in until we got a negative test confirmation for a joe and Joe Biden there's now a covid nineteen outbreak at the White House that has infected I think at last count twenty one people including senators, senior members of the president's team as well as president trump and first lady Melania trump staff. Of the White House reporters and they are still refusing to do even the most minimal contact tracing ordered to publicly embrace a relevant public health standards. So what was already a horrifying experience being in the room for that debate? Then over the next week has sort of turned into a slow rolling horror as the president has made his own covert infection into. A piece of political theater and is now being replayed on cable shows all day a proudly taking off his mask and recording. Then re recording his triumphant reentry still infected to the white. House. I I was gobsmacked at the visual of Marine One swooping in to MED EVAC the president of the United. States to a military hospital then three days later watching this. One swoop back in and take him back to the White House for this cinematic return even though he is infected even though once he climbed all those stairs, you can see him gasping for air you have been in public life for more than twenty years you are on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. You travel around the world and talk to world leaders in this statesman position that. You're in how do you even explain this to the world if you can well Jonathan I, you know, I, do think it's important that Joe. Biden Joe Biden and the whole Biden campaign team step back they took down attack ads. They publicly expressed their concern, their prayers for the president first. Lady and their health as did I as did most liberal leaders in our country president trump. Does. Get absolutely world class healthcare. He was whisked by Marine One helicopter from the fortress like White House to a dedicated wing at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital. There is a dedicated presidential sort of sweet over there and he was treated with a cocktail of the most cutting edge treatments that your average American doesn't even have access to the combination of the widely used disappear with the. Less, widely used steroid that's commonly applied for those who are in some distress and a new monoclonal antibody treatment that's not yet approved for general use and he comes back saying several days later. Oh I feel better than I've ever felt better than twenty years before there's nothing to be afraid of don't let this virus room in your life. He even said that he thinks he's immune. I mean. He is the world's leading source of. About this pandemic and has inspired imitators from the president of Brazil to things said and done by Putin who declared that he had a effective vaccine before there was any stage three clinical trials, donner results released.
Trump 'Itching' to Get Back on Campaign Trail
"Daniel Lippman, White House reporter at Politico and author of Politicos Great Weekend reads column to offer some thoughts about the president now after his return to the White House. And of course, the president has been seen not worrying a mask on his return to the White House. He did mask to take a a brief trip outside Walter Reed Hospital. Two way but his supporters, both of which have gotten him a considerably more grief from those inclined to do so, Daniel. Sometimes it almost seems to be like the president seeks out ways in which he can receive grief for people. Yeah, That's one way to put it. Hey, is very good at Felicity. Negative reaction from His detractors. And so it seems like every day comes up with new ways ahead, which is just so amazing. But, you know, I think he wants to project strength he wants to say he used in the final stages of beating this virus. But what he doesn't realize are you not acknowledging that he's getting the best medical care? He has a huge team of doctors, nurses the best in the world world class. Medicines and trials He's on on. Most Americans are not president, and they don't have access to all of them on stuff to make their illness better, and number seven million Americans have gone coronavirus 210,000 people have died. I am wondering about his actual status. There's some mixed signals on that. We were told in the beginning everything was fine than the White House chief of staff offered thoughts that the president was in fact, in a bit of distress for awhile, then we're told the president was very angry at At that view being expressed that he has, of course since then tried to exhibit Ah ah! Ah, A man who is ah, on top of it, if you will, although I'm not sure in the case of the Corona virus when when symptoms can vary so much from severe all the way down to asymptomatic. Do we really have a handle? On just how the president is doing. Hey, seems to be doing better. But Aah! If you watched the video of him on the Truman balcony, he was gasping for air a little bit, and so Chalk it up to the trip or what? Not, but still on that, you know, leaving the Drudge report, you know, read by millions of conservative in the girls tonight on, you know, there's the family's kind of divided in that. Don Jr and the kids. They were little. Some of the kids were little apprehensive. At what You know how trump kind of operated in terms of how you want to get out of the hospital. He wanted to do that. Ah, joyride last night that exposed on those agents. Oh, And so that is a really concern in kind of trump world that ah, whether he has learned the right lessons from this pandemic, or is he going to continue to Kind of ignore mainstream doctor's advice. Right. And what does that mean for her kind of the future of the Corona virus outbreak in America when they can't even keep the president safe? Well now You know the rest. American allies under all is well all is under control. Looking at the campaign now, with four weeks and a day as we speak left Until we actually arrive at election night, although many ballots who have already been cast Uh, do we have any indication at all of how this is all playing? Is there Ah, a sympathy vote for the president. Are there those who consider his behavior to be reckless, which presumably would be against the president? Do we know how this is playing politically? Um, yeah. So we don't know exactly. How every has returned to the White House is plain. But there is AH, you know, senior citizens. He is not doing that well in among them because They have been the worst affected by the pandemic. Ah, and they kind of look at his behavior and they think it's been reckless, irresponsible, having huge rallies. Not social distancing of 30 people so far, who have gotten Dick. These tested positive for the Corona virus that have interacted with Trump in last week on so we can have so that is causing really concern among Republicans say that You know, they feel like the That they've kind of already lost on that the next month. It's only gonna kind of feel the deal. They are very pessimistic about having about how to turn around. The campaign on DH. They see, Trump has not even able to go on the campaign trail that that's just what do we know about whether or not the president is in fact going to resume campaigning? What do we know about the fate of the final two presidential debates after the Wednesday night vice presidential debate? So it is a bit Unclear when he'll return because it just depends on the health. And that's TBD. Uh, day by day process. He hasn't hit the 78 Day seven or eight. During his illness, those air in the critical days. That could go Either way, Khun Go turns severe, uh, you know, go back to the road to recovery or continue on that road in that, you know, that's Wednesday or Thursday. And Thursday and so Be, uh, you know, there is a kind of a feeling that There's mixed messages out of the White House. The lack of good staffers. You have a staff doctor. They are. They don't have tons of credibility, so that makes it harder for her. Them two for Americans to believe what they're saying, and that hurt the campaign as well. And so trump where she wants to go back to those rallies. Get that adulation, but He's having to put that on all because Doesn't want to, you know, exposed, you know lots of people, and I don't think Americans would want to go to those rather in the first place. How has this affected the Biden Harris campaign? Well, they're of course, they say the right things about praying for the president's health coming back. But They are, you know, and they're actually happy, too. Give it to a more positive message. Everyone's who were on the road. They're not stuck in a basement anymore. And so that makes it easier for them too. Kind of point to that there the party of normalcy that I want to, you know, really put America safely. Um, And so, while the trump campaign kind of fuzzy avert their virtual events Other things like that. So buying campaign feels like they're way out in the polls. 14 points. NATIONAL Horton NBC News Wall Street Journal, Um, left It leaves in other states that are in other polls. And so they found a much stronger position than Hillary Clinton was. Much more widely despised of the campaign, then
Trump gets experimental drug aimed at curbing severe illness
"Spending his first night in hospital after being diagnosed with covert 19. The White House said that Mr Trump would continue to work using a special accommodation. Sweet. His deputy Mike Pence, will not assume any presidential duties. Well. The U. S presidential election has been thrown disarray following the announcement of the president's positive diagnosis at 74 years of age and also being obese. The president is at higher risk of serious complications from the disease. He's admission to the Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington, where he'll undergo medical tests has been described as a precautionary measure. In a video on Twitter, the president thank everybody for their support. I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support. I'm going too watery hospital. I think I'm doing very well. But we're going to make sure that things work out. The first lady is doing very well. So thank you very much. I appreciate it. I will never forget. Thank you. In a statement, His doctor said he'd been given rendez severe a drug designed to prevent lung shut down. Mr Trump is currently not needing supplementary oxygen. Well before being airlifted to hospital. President Trump received an experimental drug to attack the virus. It's a synthetic antibody cocktail, which hasn't yet being tested on a large scale manufactured by the biotech firm Re general. Craig Spencer is an E R doctor in New York and raised these questions about the use of the medication. We hope that it works. It seems quite promising. It does seem a little strange. I think that many people, including myself to be trying an experiment, experimental medication on the president, but at the same time You know, we want to make sure of course, that the president is well it's early in his illness, so I don't think it's completely unreasonable. A lot of it would depend on the actual symptoms of president is having The disease course and really confrontation with his physicians to know whether or not this was a Dr Craig Spencer will. The BBC's Peter Bose gave me the latest on the president and his current state of health. We know that the president's Twitter feed is active again. President from tweeting from his hospital at 11 30 in the evening on It was a short, Tootie said Going well, I think thank you to all Love on DH. We've also heard from his doctor in the last few hours with a similar message that the president, he says he's doing very well not requiring any oxygen. But, he says in consultation with the specialists of the hospital, they have decided to initiate severe, which is the anti viral medication that we've heard quite a lot about. Over recent months that shone some promising results in helping patients get over the virus, especially if it's administered during the early stages. He, of course, walked to the helicopter before he was then transported to hospital on part of that, presumably was about sending out a signal to the American people. Clearly it wass. This happened after I think this is significant after the markets had closed in the U. S. I think it has happened before then it would have sent jitters air around the financial Community would already seen that over the previous 24 hours. But yes, I think it was staged Managed. We saw some short footage didn't take very long for president. Want to get into his helicopter. He was talking about a 10 minute ride to the hospital, and we saw him emerge. He walked himself is dressed in his suit. It looked like the president Trump that we're used to seeing on DH. What we've heard since he entered the hospital seems to reflect that that he's doing all right. Although we understand he is Suffering from some of the early stage symptoms. The mild symptoms that we've heard about in relation to many of the people who have suffered from this virus and assuming he stays reasonably well. The plan is for him to continue working while he's in hospital. Yes, He's in a suite on executive suite in the hospital that is designed for situations like this. They've treated presidents in the past. So he has a ll the apparently all the paraphernalia there for a president to operate it in terms of security needs and the communication Needs it. We are told that the possibility is there for him to continue working, and significantly, he is still in control. He is still running the country and the White House has been at pains to point out that the husband in any way Transition of power to Mike Pence. The vice president, which would happen if the president was so sick that he couldn't carry out his duties. In the meantime, off course we are in the middle ofthe on election campaign. Where does that go amidst All this? That's the big question. We've also, interestingly heard in the last few hours. That's the Trump campaign manager. Bill Stepien has positive Testa's wealth that perhaps the most interesting thing that I've learned in the last couple of hours. Is that the complain plans to launch surrogates or stand ins for in person events. In other words, those close to President Trump will be standing in at events. We can only assume that will be similar to some of the rallies that we've seen the president holding in recent weeks, and those people include the vice President, Mike Pence. Reporter Jeffrey Goldberg Addresses Trump’s “Loser” Remarks, Talks Using Anonymous Sources
"It has been a rough Labor Day weekend and the trump. White House where officials are absolutely full out freaking out about Thursday. Night's report in the Atlantic that trump had characterized Americans who died in war losers and suckers trump has spent the past four days repeatedly nine the story marshalling all kinds of people to. Come forward to knock it down he insisted today the quote an animal would say thing that the White House trotted out figures like Sarah Sanders who we know is lied to reporters multiple times to claim the report isn't true because they were there when trump didn't say the terrible things he allegedly said take they're hoping you don't think about that formulation too much. The main problem for the White House here is that the evidence supporting the story is pretty obvious and clear and almost overwhelming to anyone not inside the trump reality distortion bubble. The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg reported that trump cancelled a visit to an American military cemetery near Paris back in two thousand eighteen partially because he worried his hair would become disheveled in the rain and partially because he did not respect the American war dead interred there. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the schedule visit trump said, why should I go to that cemetery? It's filled with losers in a separate conversation on the same trip trump preferred to the more than eighteen hundred marines who lost their lives at Bellawood as suckers for getting killed. Now, the sources in the story are anonymous you know anonymous sources are not as. Good. As name sources when you're evaluating something, but it doesn't mean that the claims came in on some anonymous tip line that no one knows where they came from. It means a reporter in this case, Jeffrey Goldberg spoke to people directly interviewed them and has agreed not to identify them in the story Jeffrey. Goldberg, will be here with me to talk about that in just a moment. His initial story has now been confirmed in part or in its entirety by reporters at. All okay. Remarkably a correspondent at Fox News included in that lineup whom trump promptly called on the network to fire. Some of those corroborating stories included even more damning details about the president like this one from the Washington Post quote the president told senior advisors that he didn't understand why the US government plays such value on finding soldiers missing in action because they had performed poorly and gotten caught and deserve what they got and this from the New York Times people familiar Mr Trump's private conversations saying he has long scorned those who served in Vietnam as being too dumb to have gotten out of it as he did through medical diagnosis of bone spurs in his heels. Back in two thousand, nineteen trump's former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen testified the trump admitted to faking those bonds first telling cone quote you think I'm stupid I wasn't going to Vietnam. There's even more evidence that trump view soldiers at stupid or suckers Mary trump the president's knees wrote in a recent book that trump and threatened to disown his eldest son if don Jr. joined the military. She also says that her own Father Fred trump junior was mocked by donald trump because he fred trump junior decided to join the US air. National. Guard quote my father was frequently ridiculed for his career choices and disparaged for serving our country by both his father and by his brother Donald. Then, there's the fact that pretty much none of trump's top military officials past and present are backing the president up. I mean you really can't find anyone who's stepping forward to defend his character save he would never say anything like that they aren't disputing the story instead that's been left talking heads and former flax and loyalists. That's maybe not a huge surprise because trump allegedly said about all US servicemembers, hues very closely to what he said back in two thousand fifteen about one particular veteran Senator John McCain. War here or euro he's a war hero years he's a war hero presumes captured. I like people that weren't captured. Okay I hate to. John. McCain was prisoner of war in Vietnam for five years host. Donald Trump avoided that war had a different experience in an interview in the nineties. He characterized his efforts to avoid transmitted diseases while sleeping with numerous women as quote, my personal Vietnam. An. Event with Union members today Joe Biden lambasted the president's comments an invoked zone Sun Beau who served in Iraq and then died from a brain tumor in two thousand fifteen. Those of served. Risk, their lives even gave their lives, our nation losers suckers. He's our heroes. Tell you something. My Bowl wasn't loser. For A sucker if that's I, talk about our veterans, you have no business being president of the United States of America. What's being entered into the record here to take a step back and look at all the evidence about Donald Trump. Shocking. Morally offensive. It's not surprising. It's about what we have come to expect. But. One big question that keeps pulling on my shoulders. Why are we learning about this now? What does it mean that we are? For more on that and the fallout from his incredible reporting joined by Jeffrey Goldberg He's the Editor in chief of the Atlantic and I jeff, maybe I start a little bit with. The reaction to this story from the White House you. There are stories that come out all the time about the president that are fairly scandalous incredibly scandalous. And one time they said it's fake news and they swatted away or the new cycle moved on, they do seem particularly freaked out. About this reporting. An particularly intent on attacking it what what is your sort of reading of the last three or four days of their reaction? Well he's a good question. First thing I would say is that. This is not an attack on these are not reports of an attack on site immigrants or black people or or something like that we expect from Donald Trump and something that his base might actually help him with his base. This could hurt him with his with his base You know the the the second thing is I. Think there's a lot of. Nervousness in the White House and again I won't I'm not commenting on anything having to do with my sourcing or other reporter's saw sourcing Fox. Washington Post whatever. I'm you know there's a there's a deep hostility and mistrust in the White House of. Current and former generals people who lead the military. We saw that today Donald Trump did something that I. I've never seen before he attacked his own a service chiefs. He attacked his own leaders of the Armed Forces on call? Them. I mean, even in the even in this sort of an Tasma, we are twenty twenty race that's still something but I think it has to do with the fact that This is the kind of accusation that sounds believable in also goes directly to. A core constituency that Donald trump obviously needs to Keep energized come November. Yeah we we should note that there's there's been polling of of active duty servicemembers in which he's he's underwater with them There's been an interesting sort of officer enlisted split, but he's been losing ground even with a enlisted members. He's gone for a net positive nine points and Net net net negative twelve points. You can see that there. That's the latest military times pulling. You just mentioned what he said today was pretty remarkable. Briefly, sort of like channeling kind of like left anti-imperialism vis-a-vis his own service chiefs although it's completely like made up and fabricated because he. In the next breath, he's constantly bragging about how big the Pentagon budget is and how Raytheon is making off like a bandit. So but I wanNA play that clip just to get your response to it take a listen to what he said. I'm not saying that military in love with me to soldiers are the top people in the Pentagon probably aren't because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those wonderful companies that make the bombs and make the planes and everything else they. Happy. But we're getting out of the endless wars you know how we're doing. But here's the thing Jeff. They're not this drives me insane the where we have expanded our footprint, we've expanded bombings all the theaters, and this is an absolute con-. This idea that the Great Antiwar Donald Trump has some revolt on his hands on the generals. As, you will know the generals are usually more hesitant to go to war than not usually often more has to go to war than than civilian leaders for some obvious reasons. No, this was remarkable i. mean he sort of channeling. Start Sixty Bob Dylan lyrics here I pointed out on a show media today it's It's quite remarkable given that tomorrow there's a pretty good chance that he'll brag about how much money he's spending on military hardware, and of course, as you know, he's deeply transactional in love it when when foreign countries by our military equipment. So if you're looking for consistency in that particular clip, you're you're looking forward it in the wrong place it doesn't make sense in any kind of traditional understanding of of politics.

"So important since literally I feel like I'm the only person in America you perhaps with me actually highlighting these things. Against the mainstream media complex that David and Goliath I mean these are billion dollar companies pushing a narrative jiming down your throat spoon feeding into all day even though it's ally not telling the counterpoint even remotely when I when I love this book is that you challenge the premise, a lot of these conservative circles that we both run in I hear from even media. People on the radio and on television essay will Joe Biden's harmless and you say know your baseline is not harmless is that he's actually in more harmful because more people will vote for him. Thinking the policies are different than what they actually are. So that's the thing. He's not a candidate. He's a vessel for the radical left. He's like camouflage for the radical left. To push their agenda under the guise of it being a modern platform. But if you go through that Biden Sanders joint unity platform I'd like I said it's literally like the Communist Manifesto for the new age it should scare all of us. It will dress our economy into the ground. It will drive already stress systems whether that be education or health gardening into the Ground any will destroy. So of the American dream to a point where it's probably irreparable, you take that with some of the radical ideas of the left whether it's stacking courts statehood for DC statehood for Puerto. Rico that they get control of the Senate with another four senators and you have a fifty year power shift where you'd never have you'd probably never get it back. You'd never get the Supreme Court back. You never get the Senate back and that's how they would implement their Marxist ideology in this and destroy it in the process. So the titles liberal privilege and encourage check it out. Now don new grew up in New York you spend a Lotta time around liberals not around leftists. Can you talk about how your upbringing how you have seen what used to be called liberal now turn into just a radical insurrection. This is very helpful for a lot of our younger listeners who sometimes conflict terms because you you grew up around what would be called as liberal America, but that's not what's happening right now. Now, and it's beyond that I mean I think you know if you looked at John F Kennedy today a hero of the left he would be considered. All right. You know he'd be a Neo Nazi according to the left today You know this isn't your grandfather's Democrat Party this isn't the party that represents working class Americans anymore, and you don't believe just look at their platform. It literally spend more time focusing on helping people who are here illegally. Then it does actually American citizens look at what's going on into some of the you know. The the bills over the last couple of months. Corona virus. I mean Nancy Pelosi is sitting there fighting for billionaires and millionaires to get their salt deductions your back. But when my father says, Hey, I want to implement a payroll tax to put dollars back into America's wallets meaning your taxpayer dollars we want to give them back to you. She wants to give it back to billionaires I'd. Probably costs me six figures a year, but I wanted to go to the American people they need it right now it's their money and that's where government gets conflicted these radicals it's government money is no, it's not it's taxpayer money, and so I've seen that I mean again I grew up plays I've always been conservative but I grew at a place.

"Everybody. Welcome. This episode of the Charlotte Kirk Show I am joined by my friend Donald Trump junior who has an incredible new book out Liberal Privilege Joe Biden and the Democrats Defence of the indefensible don welcome back to the Charlie Kirk show and tell us about why you wrote this book and the significance for this book heading into this very important election. Well a couple of. Charlie. Such a big part of the triggered and even the book tour and everything that I had no intention of writing another book. It was sort one of the unintended consequences really of the quarantine. Right. When we were in lockdown I started writing this book and I decided to self publish because if that would've lasted two, three, four, five weeks, I wouldn't have had. Time to finish but with four months, I just started looking I was at home. You can't go to work. You couldn't go to church. You couldn't do anything. So I'm logged at my house and there's much fun as Keiji is you had to do a little bit of work to it. Wasn't it wasn't just pleasure and I started looking and researching Joe. Biden. And I was just astounded how much stuff is out there about Joe Biden, and that literally no one in the media is talking about I mean just refused to even acknowledge I mean these are things that would be totally disqualifying to trump or any conservative Joe Biden it's as though they never happened and I, said, fifty years is a long time. The non have a record I mean that's half a century. You know sort of my line from the Convention speech was you know? He's the Loch ness monster of the swamp and it's true and liberal privileges exactly that right it's the ability to have. Flops through your entire career it, it's the ability to have failure. It's the ability to destroy the American manufacturing American jobs the middle class and be able to run on that platform as your magically going to now save it despite having spent fifty years, destroying it and not being held accountable not being called out by mainstream media and that you and I have spoken about many times. Bipartisan Senate Report Shows 2016 Trump, Russia Collusion
"The news Do. You guys remember when the big question on everyone's mind was did donald trump colluded with Russia during the two thousand sixteen campaign remember it was all anyone talked about and then trump lead one, hundred and seventy thousand Americans die on his watch and we moved onto that. Well, it turns out the US. Senate had not completely forgotten about it and yesterday they dropped a bombshell report. A New Senate report says members of the 2016 trump campaign were eager. To accept help from Russia some of a directed personally by Vladimir Putin the Republican led Senate Intelligence Committee releasing its final report declaring two thousand sixteen trump campaign had repeated contacts with Russian operatives, Paul Manafort? The former trump campaign co-chairman. It goes further than the Muller reports saying he was in close touch with a Russian intelligence officer who became a business partner. It says manafort posed a grave counter intelligence threat. The report says he may even have been connected. To Russia's hacking and leaking Hillary Clinton campaign emails, an operation it says was actually directed by Russian. President. Putin. The three year investigation also found that president trump may have misled special counsel Robert Muller One of the other headlines is that this committee actually made criminal referrals in June of last year in two thousand, nineteen to federal prosecutors on the list of referrals, Steve Bannon Jared Kushner, and Donald Trump Junior. That's right. The Republican led Republican led Senate committee. Referred Steve, Bannon, Jared Kushner, and Don Jr. for criminal charges for lying under oath, and this is good news for Eric. When you the least favorite child, you get left out of all the family traditions, even the criminal ones basically, this Senate investigation found that the trump campaign's contacts, with Russia, during the two thousand, sixteen election posed a threat to national security, and the interesting thing about this report is that it's bipartisan with policies agree on the facts but. Each party came to a different conclusion about whether the facts meant that there was no collusion. And I will say it's always weird to see the same set of facts that are interpreted that differently it kind of reminds me of how two different guys will have different stories about how they fight went down you'll. That guy in the face and he was down on the ground lights out man. So Dude, I told that guy get on my face and then I took a nap on the
Donald Trump Jr.'s girlfriend tests positive for coronavirus

"don jr" Discussed on The Charlie Kirk Show
"So done I kind of want to ask you some news of the day in the couple minutes. We have remaining. What do you make of this entire Democrat field? And you've known Mike Bloomberg and kind of his whole machine if you will for years you being growing up in New York. Both your family's obviously came in contact with each other. What are we supposed to make this? What do you know about Mike Bloomberg that the country needs to know the reality? I guess you know talking to another sort of mutual friend of my father's and his this is a case study of whether you can just buy the presidency or not you see him. I mean I'm getting hit up and obviously I have a big presence on social media Probably one of the most engaged people from the right You know and all of these things I mean the influencers that Mike Bloomberg is paying literally are demanding meeting like hey listen. I'm getting these offers sort of how I make my living. I really don't want to do it for them. But it is how I make my living. Can you guys do this? And try to match this. Y- they're literally going around trying to make him cool it. You see the reaction he gets from others. You see the commentary about the stop and Frisk like you see the way he looks at people more importantly and again stop and Frisk has been the controversy of the week and honestly I. I almost don't even care what your opinion is on the policy. But the way that he spoke about minorities in those communities you could hear he doesn't think of them as human that he was talking about that subject. You take the kids you throw up against the wall. You put all the cops in those neighborhoods. You don't do anything about that. You Know Oh you you want to know what a criminal looks like. It says dear rocks copy. You know minorities between eighteen and thirty five. That's what a criminal looks like. He doesn't think people as Human I. It's why someone can literally go up to. It might be trolling him and he doesn't even realize he's being trolled. But when you have two billion I mean think about that you know. He's willing to spend to bill. He doesn't have to take the time the energy to go raise money from people. He doesn't have to create. Hire the best people and just literally say we'll give you whatever you want. He's done that. Whatever you need. Go Get out there trying to make me cool. Try to do this. And so this guy this other sort of billionaire. That does both like it. It is really a case. Study to see if you can spend enough money to buy and manipulate the American people. Because he can't do it with his personality the one thing he loves by his personality but he can try to create one online by paying people a lot of money by overpaying. It like think of what? He's spent the best far to not have any delegates he's literally spent almost as much probably already did not have a delegate as we did to win the actual presidency. He's spent ten x what the other Democrats have done and like you and I both casinos. Because we're on the roadway like fundraising and raising money is the most time consuming and hardest part of that job. Just say you know what we just bypass that I'll stroke a check so there's great irony that you know. This guy is now going to be a one of the leaders of the Democrat billionaire. Who is a Republican? Then in in the and then he's flip flopped on every issue is now going to spend whatever it takes to drive for policies that may or may not actually do anything to the Democrat base. He will then spend billions to manipulate said voter into voting for him to stop trump. Who's actually done incredible things to benefit all Americans I I mean I'm looking at distance. Sort of laughing right. You have an old super rich White Guy. Who was you know? Flip flopped between parties for decades has said that if trump said in again not policy the way he said them. It would be over in terms of the racist dialogue. You know over and over again. And it's like got the leader of the Democrat Party like what the Hell is going on with that party and it sort of mind blowing but you know I guess maybe when you look at the other options. Maybe that's the best you got. But like the the one thing I'll say is look Bernie whether you agree with the policies or not like he actually has a real his people that actually believe in him and I think that means more than the money meaning. Hillary spent what four or five times? What we spent last time around has the best team the BASS experts the greatest this that and the other because there was a shoe in and I don't know we did pretty good. You know we we will you. The reality is I would actually take sort of a real following as opposed to a following any day You know well. Enron Boeing is showing that. Really when you're paying someone twenty bucks an hour to go knock on doors. I'm here for my gloom or why I don't know the burning supporter. But they're paying me twenty bucks an hour so I'll do it if a little different than engaging you know. Hundreds of thousands of people are like. I'm here because I believe in this and I'm not getting paid to do it. That such important point and it's it might Bloomberg is the opposite of the Maga doctrine and to a to a lazy onlooker or journalists. They might say oh. It's the same. It's billionaire Mike Bloomberg Billionaire Donald Trump everything Mike Bloomberg stands for is a globalist pro China. Anti-american open border anti-constitution agenda everything. We haven't even gotten there yet. But look at his comments on China. I mean literally pro anti US look at the comments about Russia and the Ukraine. I mean he's. He's literally taking the approach that the Democrats have been complaining about for the last eight weeks nine weeks. Put it like during the their hoax. Like you know your his guy can like okay well. He's got a lot of money and maybe he can beat trump. So we're just GONNA ask. What does that say about the Democrat Party and what they really believe like they don't have an actual thought leader day. They're just like oh whatever anything but trump so okay we will put by and put aside all of our actual all of these things to elect the guy that ran for mayor of New York Republican Bob. It's insane but but they do it. They have no backbone. They will do it because they'll do whatever they can. Describe Bernie they. They're they're truly. Aren't you know? Suffering from trump derangement syndrome completely and ideas are so dangerous and corrosive to our country. And Your father did not. It's almost like Mike. Bloomberg is forcing himself into the race. Your father ran and announced and from the moment he went down. That escalator was met with a grassroots fire. Populist Good Sil- nationalist enthusiasm. That has not stopped. Mike Bloomberg has spent three hundred fifty million dollars and he can draw maybe thirty people to an event. There's no spirit. There's no energy your father was a vessel for forgotten. America Mike Bloomberg is a plutocratic on vanity mission trying to preserve his legacy or just trying to find the common touch that he might not live forever with his. You know pseudo media empire that he's created it's completely two completely different things and so don last question. I got is kind of going into this. Now that we see an actual socialist that is going to be the nominee maybe the nominee of the party. I should say we don't know might be Bloomberg. Might Be Bernie. I don't think it's going to be Biden's when you call that. For a while Biden remember what state he's in fifty percent of the time like Donald trump mix up Iowa and Ohio. One they say he has dementia. He totally locked it. I mean Joe Biden and mix it up. Oh Ohio on a daily basis and it's like Oh that's totally totally fine. There's nothing corrupt about him. Taking billions of the family getting all these government contracts that if trump actually was doing I you know carpet under get an interesting sort of threat. Unders basically mega-guys finding literally is everything that the less claims. Donald trump is right that they're totally wrong about. He's not particularly bright. He's not gonNA stop. He's got all these weird corruption get. They've got a kid taking millions from corrupt regimes and like influencing government and using his publicly funded office to to Leech off and live in incredible life. Like Joe Biden is all of the things they say about our family that we're literally not doing any of the irony is so incredible but that's the way it's like. Hey it's all up in the air but I just don't think they're gonNa let Bernie Habit and I think again the last time. They gave us a candidate that had no real following but whose turn it was or had no real following but had a lot of money it worked out great for us so I really want the DNC to use their intimate wisdom To help take a candidate for an electorate that they're clearly out of touch with because every time they do it seems to really worked to our benefit completely and look there might be some funny business behind Bernie Sanders. Who knows. I mean they might not let this guy get the nomination at all in in even if he gets the most amount of delegates like I said. Hey I saw it in eighteen. This time four years ago we still had zero percent chance of winning and it was a flash in the PAN monthly. I don't know there's thousands of people showing up every day you know in random lasers in small towns across like Bernie has got the same thing you know. I don't I don't WanNa take that lightly I mean you know all else being equal. Would I rather run against Bernie or Bloomberg right now? It's like I you know I sort of want six months. One on one with Bloomberg his policies start coming out as starts doing as you start going back to his history like you know on paper. Come on you know. They'll say well. He's a billionaire it's fine. So trump trump became a billionaire building building putting people to work construction guys blue collar America Bloomberg. Did it with computer. Engineers and programmers. You know if the president but trump actually has a pulse of real people. Because he's been dealing with them his whole life and that's something you know. The retail component of politics You're not GONNA you know I. It's the hardest aspect of it. It's one thing you really can't buy and do well if you don't have it naturally and you know it's still a really big part of this game. Though you know we we will test to see how many billions it takes to sort of chip into the you know very obvious advantage. That trump has versus. You know Bloomberg yeslam completely. Well done thanks so much man for for coming on here and thanks for right in the forward to the book. Maga- doctrine super greatly appreciated. And I think we're in a good place you know. I'm trying to tell people not to be too cocky but I think our movement is stronger than ever got a lot of work to do though and everyone listening you know has Has got to buckle up. Because we're going to be in the fight for you know for a lifetime here. Congratulations on the book men. Go check it out And keeping up buddy. Thanks talk to you soon. What a great conversation with Donald Trump junior again e mail us your questions freedom at Charlie Kirk Dot Com. That's freedom.
Mitt Romney breaks with GOP and votes to remove Trump from office
"You believe that Donald Trump is is unfit to serve as president and should be removed from office. I do believe he should be removed from office. That's the vote that I will take an in just a short while if this means the end of your our political career broad shoulders to be able to to whether personal changes in my in my career political or otherwise. But what I don't have is the capacity to ignore my conscience the first time in American history sitting. US Senator voted to convict and remove president of his own party. Republican Senator Mitt Romney Utah Shocked. I gotta say just about everyone me as much as anyone without announcement and vote today before he did that before he decided trump was guilty of abuse the power given interviews the Atlantic's McKay coppins talking about his rationale. He said that this is the last place he wanted to find himself quote. I did not want to get here. In fact. He said that heard the reason he wanted. Former national security adviser John Bolton to testify about what president trump had told him was quote. I had the hope that Bolton would be able to say something it's to create reasonable doubt so I wouldn't have to vote to convict to talk more about Senator Romney's vote to android with a guy who got that big interview. McKay coppins staffer of the Atlantic and Neil Cacho former acting solicitor. Sir General in the Obama Administration who co-authored an opinion piece in the Times today titled This will come back to haunt trump and his enablers. Kayla me start with you a remarkable ccable moment in politics often. We don't surprise us because it's like well everyone's GonNa just do. What the partisan incense here? What was your sense of talking to him about what this meant and how he got there you know? I have to say that when I was told by his office that he was willing to talk to me yesterday and that he would reveal his vote. I went there with the assumption that he would probably be telling me he was gonNA vote to acquit. That wasn't to say I was. I wasn't open to the possibility. Maybe I think I actually said on your show last fall that I thought of all the Republican senators. Romney was the biggest threat to vote to convict. But you know I watched this kind of wrathful. Aw response from the right over. The last few months directed at him and I kind of expected him to be cowed and have like a bunch of excuses for why he had decided to to vote to acquit instead. He was very kind of almost indignant about what he saw as the president's misconduct he was dismayed by by his party. Ready and what. What's become of it and you know one thing that was remarkable to me was the degree to which he was talking about? Very personal issues of conscience and faith faith morality. He told me you know. I'm a fellow Mormon. And he was talking. He was quoting scripture to me quoting from hymns kind of talking about how he had he had had to pray eight for wisdom throughout this ordeal and so this really was something that was very personal for him and something seemed really committed to kneel. You wrote today about History history haunting the Republican senators or even in the near term being haunted by this. But what do you mean by that. Why do you think that's the case as opposed to it being consigned the memory hole like so so much that happens in our in our political world? Yeah I think that the GOP is now like the grand old cover party. And I think there's kind of three structural girl features that if I were publican outside of Romney I'd be really worried about number one. Is that seventy five percent of Americans wanted witnesses and seventy five percent of Americans. I think the president. That's something wrong in Ukraine. And that's even though we're so bitterly divided as a country so many Americans share that same core belief. The second is is the Democratic Party which has been told from the start impeachments assure loser the president keeps saying it and the like and they did it anyway. They did it despite the cost. Because has like Senator Romney they thought it was the right thing and third underappreciated and this is also the role of The folks in the Federal Government People like Dr Dr Fiona Hill and colonel of inman and the brave whistle blower all of whom came forward to say. Hey this is a real problem those three things together. So let's say to me if the president continues doing this stuff. He's going to face those three problems again. And then there's one other thing which is a consequence of the president's own legal arguments he said it to the Senate to things he said number one that there weren't any first-hand witnesses and the house should have gotten them and number two he said. Let the voters decide in November. Those two things together say the House tomorrow should be subpoenaing Bolton and gone launching a full-scale investigation. And that's what the president's President's own lawyers said should be done and so yeah. I'd be really worried if I'm the president I'd be worried about every senator who enabled this cover up McKay Don Jr. in Europe somewhat predictably tweeting about how Mitt Romney should be expelled from the GOP that he's now officially a member of the resistance and should be expelled and then of course Romney's niece Ronna Romney mcdaniel. Who is the chair of the? GOP said this is not the first time I disagree with Mitt. I imagine not be the last. The bottom line is president trump. Did nothing wrong. Republican Party's ladies more united than ever behind him. I got to imagine everyone's GonNa Watch the predictable kind of nuclear reaction that they will get from from from trump and the Republican party on this well. That's that's the whole point that's the strategy and that's been the strategy from day one that Donald trump goes after Mitt Romney when he steps out of line not because he he thinks he's going to be able to intimidate Mitt Romney necessarily because he's sending a message to all the other Republicans who might consider stepping out of line. I will say that you know when I was talking to Romney. He was bracing for this political backlash yesterday and he said Look. I know this is going to be really bad. I know that the vast majority of my party is lined up behind trump. He told me when he he's in airports. Every walk down the street random people will shout things at him in call him a traitor. Tell him he ought to be ashamed of himself and that was before he took this vote. So you know the the backlash is going to be by kind kind of deliberately. A spectacle to try to make an example out of Mitt Romney and I think that's part of the reason that Romney it'll be interesting to continue to watch him both both how he reacts to that and and how he kind of weather is that because while I do think there's GonNa be a lot of anger from the White House presidents allies the grassroots. I'm not actually sure that his Republican colleagues in the Senate are going to be quite as vicious and and you know Romney wants to show that you can do this. You can take this so you can stand up to trump and continue to resist. Do Your job. The president also of course tweeting a as I said earlier kind of nonsensical video targeting Romney I also I also wonder Neil and this is sort of different calculation but but but folks in the civil service I mean this seems to be key so many of them wrist stuck their neck out to go to go testify. We we know that there were people in the administration some political mostly civil servants. who were saying this is wrong? This is wrong. We shouldn't be doing this and I wonder what today means for them as well. In terms of restraining the president going forward so two things I just with respect to the conversation you were just having it so striking to me that this is the same person who evidently said something according to CBS opponents head is going to put on a pike and that led all the Republican senators to freak out when representative Schiff made that argument. But now that's exactly what's Howard's to Romney. We don't hear any of the any of that back and then with respect to the federal bureaucracy. I think you're absolutely right. You could take two different lessons from at one is it. Didn't work but I think the lesson that dead there is being taken in America. I'm starting to hear it from people in the federal government including when people who've seen some bad stuff and haven't come forward yet is the truth has got to come out. If the truth keeps coming out then the president is going to be stymied and all of the horrible things that he's trying to do and so I think this is going to be a lesson that's going to empower future whistleblowers. It's not going to hold them back And I certainly encouraged anyone with information to come forward McKay coppins and Neil Cacho. Thanks Janet from raking time tonight.
Audio appears to capture Trump saying he wants Ukraine ambassador fired
"April two thousand eighteen. President Trump arrives at a private dinner at the trump international hotel. Don Jr. is there a show is indicted rudy. Giuliani associate lead Parnasse. And there's the place set for the president on the tape of voice identified as has parnasse can be heard telling trump that the ambassador to Ukraine was bad mouthing. Had she's basically walk around telling everybody wait. He's GonNa get impeached just this way out to take her out to would.
Where the fake Trump media massacre video came from, and other things to know about it
"All right so for those of you that might not be totally into this story or understanding where it's come from this was totally trending on twitter all day a and it just so happens that I spoke at the conference where this is the center of controversy so there was a horrific museum video where you're donald trump massacres fake news media now essentially there's these videos that go around and there's this community of people that love the president so much they'll take popular videos superimpose the face of Donald trump onto somebody kickboxing or somebody with a lightsaber fighting people they disagree with so I guess the most this one was the CNN which with precise which was the body slam when the wwe one because the president shared that one and so this particular video was from the movies kingsman which is about the British Secret Service or something starring Colin Firth actually doesn't fourteen. I've never enjoyed those movies I it's called the dark comedy only for some people only some people very cheesy I never liked that movie right somehow killing people's funny but no there is a whole genre it appeals to a certain the demographics never liked the not Nora Nora I've tried to watch it a couple times is just not really my my genre so anyway this memoir so those that don't seem to have to define what a menas because we do have some people okay so mean is what is the best way to find a mean kind of like when you know it Ben Johnson Adam Benny Johnson chief creative officer turning point USA so look amine is a picture or a video that satirizes or explains an issue in a short sound bite that usually his comedy or uses wit I guess that's a good way to put it that it turns it on its head flips it sure Iran nick insightful. Almost here's the best way I can describe it it's the Internet's equivalent of political cartoons that a good way to put it share okay a modern digital essentially this scene in kingsman which I don't understand how this scene was really funnier incite fuller enjoyable the watch but allegedly there was a scene where somebody walks into a church and kills a bunch of people that was the scene Church massacre and they superimposed Donald Trump's face to be the guy that's killing everyone and then he's killing the fake news media CNN MSNBC as well as Democrats like Barack Obama Nancy Pelosi unless we totally denounces videos unequivocally and totally I don't think it's funny to show violence against other people I think it's it's not my not my taste I don't think it's funny people I find that Kinda dark humor interesting I'm not one of those people however he let's just get through some facts they say this was shown at the president's Miami resort so all of the media covering this is insinuating as if the president approved this or this was at his resort he didn't at all okay so I was at this event it was a unique event it was one with a lot of energy and a lot of people that were really excited to be there and Donald Trump junior Sarah Sanders governor on descent data's thankful to be invited you know so this video is shown in a side room in a breakout room against a wall in a very kind of make shift CAPAC- acidy and Don Jr. Ron to Santa Sarah Sanders myself and Corey Lewandowski knew nothing of it we didn't know about this until the news actually broke and now we're being lumped into this I might have spent forty minutes at this event basically the entire time I was at the event was when I was speaking in and out and Laura Ingraham that night and then I flew to Detroit super early the next morning I didn't hang around it was not but they're acting as if we were behind this entire thing the headlines are all all sort of inferring it's like Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Donald trump junior charlie kirk and this
FBI, President And Trump Tower discussed on 10 10 WINS 24 Hour News
"If a foreign government would dish out, damaging info about a political opponent would the president take it would he tip off the FBI answering that yesterday an interview with ABC news George Stephanopoulos, if somebody called. From a country Norway. We have information on your. Oh, I think I'd wanna hear you want that kind of interference in our elections. It's not an information. I think take it may be seen us adding, quote if I thought there was something wrong. I'd go maybe to the FBI this during the conversation about the Trump Tower meeting vomiting. Son, Don jR and others by Russian having info on Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump junior. Meantime, the president's eldest son spoke to the Senate intelligence committee for three hours yesterday. A follow up to a twenty seventeen interview in connection with the Russian election interference
Trump responds to Don Jr.'s subpoena
"Congress. President Trump was asked about these Senate intelligence committee issuing a subpoena to his son Donald Trump junior. I was very surprised to see my son. My son's a very good person works, very hard. The last thing he needs is Washington DC it rather not ever be involved. The Trump administration in while has increased tariffs on two hundred billion dollars worth of Chinese imports as trading Goshi nation continue but China says in a statement it will take necessary.
Senate committee subpoenas Donald Trump Jr.
"Dot com. Lighthouse aids caught off guard by the subpoena that came from a Republican led Senate committee, Donald Trump junior. It seemed to come out of the blue to the people here at the White House. The Senate intelligence committee has long wanted to hear again from Donald Trump junior. And now with the Muller report mostly made public efforts at negotiating another appearance stalled then suddenly Wednesday, the Republican chairman issued a subpoena to Don jR. I think house chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, telling CBS news to subpoena, the president, I state son and not at least get a heads up. I thought. Was let's say bad form the surprise was compounded by majority leader Mitch McConnell, having declared case closed by the Muller report. But the intelligence committees own investigation
President Trump, Brexit And Parliament discussed on Morning Edition
"Martin. Donald Trump junior has written a provocative op Ed in London's telegraph newspaper in the peace. President Trump's eldest son argues that British Prime Minister Theresa may should have listened to his father's advice about Brexit NPR's Lennon correspondent Frank Langfitt is with us now. Hi, Frank and good morning, Rachel. So this is kind of unusual. What is the crop of Don juniors argument? Well, what he says is Brexit and Trump supporters are basically brothers in arms fighting for independence against a global elite. That's trying to overturn popular votes. And in America, what he says he cites officials who have discussed apparently reportedly removing his father from office using the twenty fifth amendment to the constitution. Here. He finds the parallel in the in the UK are Brexit politicians who say Prime Minister Theresa may is trying to sabotage Brexit with this deal. That she can't seem to get through parliament. They could keep Britain tied to the EU indefinitely. And here's one of the money quotes. He says why is this important for Americans because Brexit is an example of how the establishment elites try to hurt the will of the people when they're given the chance, and he also says democracy in the UK is all but dead. Wow. So how's that going over? I mean parallel between Brexit in the in the Trump revolution. He is. And what's interesting here is the language is extreme by any standard. But some Brexit tears, and certainly the far-right press here would largely agree with him. And I'll give you an example, you know, many of Brexit tears and others feel that maze deal, which she's struggling with doesn't deliver on the referendum of two thousand sixteen. And that's one reason it keeps getting voted down in parliament. There's also talk of a second Brexit referendum this infuriates, Brexit supporters. They say democracy isn't a best out of three vote. And even some people who were in support of remaining in the you don't want a second referendum for just this reason. So there is there is something here not so much in the language, but the idea that does that would resonate to some degree with some Brexit ears. But what about more broadly in the British population? I mean is anyone saying, hey, Don, jR, business? Yeah. They are. So so people who support remain on Twitter or pretty dismissive as you would imagine David lamb. He's a member of parliament with. Labor the opposition labor party. And here's what he wrote this morning. Donald Trump junior telling Britain democracy is dead. Is it a joke? The same Trump junior who met a Kremlin linked lawyer at Trump Tower in June two thousand sixteen after he was promised dirt on Hillary Clinton. So you get a lot of some of the response this morning on Twitter is really given all the problems and scandals that the Trump administration has faced you're giving us advice. Right. What about trees? May. She waited. She has not. And I'm sure she won't go near this at all. Yes. So many other problems share. This is just not something that she wants to go near she's having trouble. She has to go back to Brussels to the EU probably tomorrow and ask for some kind of short extension because they can't get this through parliament here. One thing. That's interesting, though, is that I think wall some of the ideas here would resonate ordinarily the context in the messenger are probably the problem. You know, this is the son of a president. This is a very strange thing to to see with is not what normally happens in foreign policy, and the other thing is that the idea that people in the United States would be giving advice to politicians in the United Kingdom when both sides of the Atlantic. Are it's sort of unprecedented levels of political chaos. Just doesn't seem to make much
Democratic investigations now target Trump's entire world
"President continues to insist congressional Democrats are hoaxers harassing him for no good reason. Correspondent Mary Bruce reports the House Judiciary committee is demanding documents and answers from Eighty-one people and entities close to Donald Trump. Members of his family sons, Don jR, and Eric and son-in-law Jared Kushner, some of Trump's closest former aides and advisers like Steve Bannon, hope Hicks and former White House counsel, Don Mcgann, his current campaign manager Brad par scowl and the Trump organization's chief financial officer, Allan Weisselberg, chairman Jerrold Nadler says did you this year he committee, which has jurisdiction over impeachment is making these requests to begin building the public record German Adler says this is an examination of Trump's business and political life. Our goal is to vindicate the rule of law to protect the rule of law in this country, and that's our core function as a community congress, and we have to find that what's been going on. We have to lay out a case to the American people and reveal it. In Monday night statement from the White House press secretary Sarah Sanders dismissed the effort as a disgraceful and abusive investigation into tired, false

Amnesty Says Panicked Civilians Fled Hospital in Hodeida
"And misty international says heavy fighting near a hospital in Yemen. Forced hundreds of patients to flee across the street some carrying their own medical equipment as shrapnel rain down on them. The rights group described the scenes of chaos from Sunday's fighting near the all throw hospital in the port city of data and mistakes. After the recent rash of mass shootings, including the one Thousand Oaks physicians across the country are stepping up their efforts to combat gun violence. Eric ticket off reports the American college of physicians, the country's largest medical specialty organization says the failure to act meaningful gun control legislation undermines the country, and it's healthcare systems foundational values. Dr Melissa Hagman is governor of the group's Idaho chapter and says she's had difficult conversations with patients about firearms. She says gun violence is a public health issue and should be thought of as an epidemic mass shootings. Individuals shootings people who lose their lives due to. Domestic violence where there's a weapon involved if epidemic gets people's attention. I think that's the appropriate word. It just seems like something that our country is too great to be having as many deaths needlessly due to firearms each of the most deadly mass shootings. This year have left at least ten people dead. The American college of physicians recommends laws that prohibit people with a history of domestic violence from buying or possessing firearms extreme risk prevention orders that allow families to petition courts for the removal of a family members firearms and a ban on semi automatic and automatic weapons opponents of these proposals say they violate Americans second amendment rights Hagman says it's important not to conflate people who commit violence with firearms with those who simply feel strongly about a person's ability to have access and carry guns, and none of them that I've ever spoken to have ever wanted anyone to be harmed needlessly. So I think there is common ground for people to continue these discussions and to work towards legislation and other ways to keep people safer than they currently are the ACP hopes there will be a shift in the narrative on guns and also has developed policy research. I'm Eric take it off Democratic Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer said he would seek to tie a measure protecting special counsel Robert Muller to must pass legislation. If acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker does not recuse himself from oversight of the probe Schumer said keeping Whittaker in charge of the investigation would create a constitutional crisis and said if he doesn't recuse himself Democrats would push to introduce legislation to protect Muller's investigation Schumer and other top Democrats sent a letter to the Justice department that calls for the DOJ's chief ethics officer to disclose whether he had devised Whittaker to recuse himself from oversight of the probe. The Democrats cited Whitaker's past public statements which included an op Ed article in which he said Muller would be straying outside his mandate. If he investigated, President Trump's family finances. He also. Previously tweeted, an ex prosecutors opinion that described Muller Lynch mob and what she said was a worthy read, Los Angeles. Whether he's doing anything to fear with a probe. Mr. Whittaker needs to understand that he will be called to answer in any role that he plays. We'll be exposed to the public New York. Democrat Jerry Nadler, the incoming chairman of the House Judiciary committee described Trump's appointment of Whittaker as an attack on the Mueller investigation and said protecting. "Any the CNN and MSNBC New York Times Washington Post CBS ABC NBC? And their ilk. Do any of the so-called reporters for any of these entities believed that John Kerry should be investigated. For colluding with the Iranians. Do they? Investigated by committees of congress. Foreign affairs and intelligence committees. I mean, ladies and gentlemen, Donald Trump junior. Has been brutally attacked for having a meeting with some Russians of which nothing came of it. Here. We have a former secretary of state. Under the former president United States, actually negotiating. With the former. Foreign minister. Of an enemy state. Negotiate behind the back of the existing administration. Now, what's? What's worse when it comes to the United States? What's worse when it comes to basic ethics? John Kerry, conducting a rogue farm policy. Interfering with the decisions of the current administration. Don, jR, having a meeting with some Russians of which nothing came from the meeting. He was going to perhaps get some information, which they didn't have. And we have heard all along on and on and on Don jR, Don, jR, this Don jR, that poor poor Don, jR, I'll tell you what? There is colluding with the Russian fair. He's colluding. He ought to be indicted indicted for what meanwhile, they John Kerry big dumb. John Kerry who already sold out the country with the Iran deal. Circling back. Think I had two or three meetings while you told Hugh Hewitt it was three or four who can count. Who can count. Was it two meetings three meetings for their their Mr. Molly, you can investigate him. Get him for perjury and false statements. These people are never investigated. They never have criminal statutes over overhanging them ever. So here we have a meeting one two three at least four who the hell knows how many between John Kerry and a surrogate for the Iranian. Islam Nazi regime. A sworn enemy of the United States that wants to build nuclear warheads and hit our cities. That's an Iranian lawyer. And. Nothing. Zip up. It's absolutely incredible. It's like. Joe Biden's, son? And I think it's John Kerry's stepson. Uh-huh. Doing all kinds of business with. The communist government of China. Nobody cares. Nobody blinks an eye. Oh, Joe Joe Biden, he should be the next nominee for the democrat party for president the United States. The only guy dumber than Kerry is Joe Biden. Rome. Fall a stupid. Oh, that's okay. No problem leash. It's not the Russians. And I take a back seat to nobody on Vladimir Putin and the Russians and the threat they pose for this country, and they do. Which is what makes this? So crazy. Logan act Logan. Logan act. No big deal. Mike flynn. Yeah. Get on with the Logan. Don, jR, has a. Turns out to be a pointless meeting with a few Russians Kettani had meetings with Russia all look at that meetings but Russians as if he agreed to give twenty percent. Of our uranium control over our uranium to Putin. Oh, no. That's Hillary up. Forget it. Shh. Hush hush. So John Kerry, undermining the current secretary of state. John Kerry, undermine the president of the United States. Directly repeatedly. Negotiate with the Iranian caught red-handed so to speak. Stupidly confessing. Anybody care. Right back. You guys have heard me talk about a product for months that has changed my sleeping habits. And it's called my pillow. Folks used to wake up sore from head to toe.

Anti-trump networks newspapers theme is Basically put, out there, in talking points warm and, these people get that information and. Comes from democratic groups George Soros, curbs people like that so loosely, organized but there is a team of the week and, now we're going through the Russian collusion thing. Again this week I want to go there now it's. Bill O'Reilly dot com. Of course this is Bill. Reilly no spin news go, check it out on his website also a premium sign up over there to check out so Donald Trump junior gets. Information from somebody that we might have some damning information on Hillary Clinton it's called opposition. Research it happens all the time he goes to the meeting knowingly nothing wrong with that sits down and this Russian lawyer somehow connected to the Kremlin only talks about Russian, adoption according. To Don Jr. president says he didn't have any idea that the meeting was happening what. Exactly is it that the media thinks it has the left thinks it has on this. If it went down the way I do said, it way down what's legal what's wrong I think there, would there were misleading statements made by the Trump organization about the, meeting in the beginning and act. We could media, is hoping that Muller will seize upon that you misled us that she didn't tell the truth so, there or We have to punish you I think that's what you're absolutely right and. I said at a time anybody would have gone, into a meeting The Persian asking. Meetings I'm gonna show you damaging a bachelor opponent well, you're going to go and. See what they have and there's nothing. Wrong with that, a woman out, a Russian motor Russians in the room I don't know what happened. In a row but the question is why. They, make big deal out of it they feel that initial reporting by the Trump organization. Was not accurate and that's what they're trying to get And you've done this many times and I want to sort of, flip it and say yeah but the dossier yeah, but Hillary Clinton finance that yeah but? The Democrats finance that that is clearly something. That was made up opposition research paid for lock stock and barrel. By the left and we're ignoring that and talking about a meeting, is that nuts or is it me Well the media, not you park media Joe so am I but the media is not interested in the dossier story of warrants being issued on false pretense tonight interested in, that don't have investigators looking at that New York Times Washington Post don't care. "There was no secret collusion you know having said that he's certainly seemed to open to the idea the trump tower meeting with don jr where he said you know crazy email from this british promoter who says hey remember that thing about how the russians are going to help your father get elected i've got some dirt for you and don jr emails back if it's what you say it is i love it especially later in the summer but then there's no follow up as far as we can tell you know it seemed like it was a meeting on false pretenses by these people who are trying to get the magnitsky act sanctions lifted and it's not clear what their connection was to the russian government i think that the trump people were disappointed because they were expecting some better than god which was stuff related to bill browder who's a former hedge fund guy who's been funding and leading these efforts to sanction the russians because his lawyer was killed in mysterious circumstances years ago in russia so it's murky but i think people have really gotten ahead of their skis so there are lots of reasons to doubt of strong version of the collusion argument so blake i think we're in lockstep on this i too believe that the russians i don't know if they were trying to effect the election as much as they are trying to cause chaos distrust i mean that's their own words they they are trying to pitted against each other and destroy us from within i mean the enemy has to come from within for us to really fall if you believe abraham lincoln a house divided against itself can't stand and we're doing a nice job at that and we're doing great we're we're we're we're doing that expertly america's number one number one of that the the the do you see a willingness in the press to find the real answer which to me is the real answer is russia is real trouble and if we don't pay attention and we don't start doing things that we need to do they are going to get better at this and and and and hurt us as we did them in the nineteen eighty s and early nineteen nineties do you see a willingness in the press on either side to stop making this about hillary clinton or donald trump and make this about the russians and what they're trying to do to us why you know i think it's hard to generalize about the press there's lots of reporters who are trying to dig into the facts of the investigation and you know there's opinion folks that are trying to make score political points on one side of the other all the time i i do think there is a real bipartisan concern out there about how to stop the russians the next time around but nobody's really talking about the point that you made which is that the reason they were able to have any success and it's hard to say what kind of success they had and how how do we measure what what the impact of their efforts was we are so divided as a country we're tearing each other apart every day people are sharing fake and misleading news all the time and because the partisan divide had gotten so wide and so deep in this country it's like child's play for a country like russia and manipulate us i mean when you see what they when you when you see what they did they took positions on on what was it right after the election they did a not my president and a celebratory you know bro donald trump party both in new york city they took the side of the cops against black lives matter and against the cops with black lives matter i mean that's all they were trying to do is to get us to the extreme to argue with each other and hate each other yeah and they they're doing a bangup job of it i mean remember that people talk about how michael flynn went to that russia today gala dinner in moscow yeah what guess who is there jill stein the green party candidate and she's never really adequately explained what she was doing there and then you have lots of evidence including the indictment that russians were trying to help bernie sanders and boost his campaign during the election so you know you have to keep in mind that vladimir putin is a completely amoral guy doesn't really have an ideology other than putin ism and you.
