"In fact a princeton michigan. It is up in the upper peninsula next to ishpeming which actually neighbors from. How about that. If you google at that town you'll notice that notable residents and alumni include stiff. I'm bound you belts this whole princeton tigers new jersey thing not buying it even a bit all right. Let's get into three secret. Squirrel sunday Send a note over to the The team at east sixty. I think we need to investigate a little bit sluggish on town. Little don van natta come on. Let's let's let's start. Let's start digging chance sleep. Great here all right. Let's talk about the steelers wide receiver. I'm just re tweet in the livestream back onto twitter. So join us. If you'd like have some fun here. Talking about the steelers wide receivers three wide receivers. Who matter in this offense matthew none more so than deontay johnson at least in my opinion in yours because our rankings reflect as much got him wide receiver. Seventeen i've got him at wide receiver eighteen daniel wide receiver. Fifteen interesting player. A hundred and forty four targets last year for deontay. Johnson do the math. That's about nine per game. Very good number for a guy who plays in an offense at threw the ball at least the quarterback had six hundred eight times last year but the limiting factors on the onto johnson last season were that there was very little play upside for him. Heck the entire offense than chase klay pool. That was the case as we were discussing with. Ben roethlisberger is that. Do you have any confidence that there will be. More explosive. Plays this year and if not does it matter for dionne johnson or is the volume just so substantial that he's wide receiver fifteen sixteen seventeen and kennedy just like safely inappropriately ranked. Yeah listen. I think both my point is is like. I'm not sure that it matters because the volume and because you know we're ranking for scoring in so i think because the volume and by the way talented player like just fancy whatever. Like very good player. I think he got you know listen. He had some. He had some bad drops in some big moments on nationally televised games that sort of amplified the thought about him in some people's minds but like he's a very good player. I'm not worried about the drops or anything like that. And i don't if the dealers well you might. I mean he led the nfl. He had more drops anybody else last year. So i would say that it's not enough to nukus fantasy value but i'd like to see them get better. Well yeah of course but it wasn't something that had happened the year before like it was just kind of one year sort of thing so my expectation is that i don't think he needs the big plays to be you know a a fantasy viable guy in the range where he's going. He's currently going as wide receiver. Twenty so we all have them ranked higher than where he's going at. Adp but he's going in the six seven turn range dj more. Chris godwin cooper cup all sorts of possession type. I don't want i mean like possession is. I'm using it but you. I know what you mean. You're not tyreek hill. Right exactly not tyreek hill. You know. god has a little bit of that in him. But you understand what. I'm saying like so. I don't think he needs it but i also do think that there's a potential that this offense gets better again because it's it's it's more well rounded. They know what they haven't chase klay pool. There's more weapons here. They're going to have a more balanced offense as well. And so ben showed up to camp looking thin and fit and so i think there is potentially some upsides for deontay johnson. But i don't think he needs it to return value in terms of where he's going if i'm just i'm looking at his game log right here. And he's got. He had ten plus games with at least double digit targets. Yeah but he also had. He afford games where he had less than four targets. Do you remember if that's like poor quarterback play was that bad. I'm trying to think back to the situation to understand why i feel like to see him. Have twelve thirteen. Sixteen eleven ten three fifteen to thirteen ten. I'm trying to remember pricing. I don't remember anything. Specifically only thing i can think of manhattan thirsty column. Sure on it already looking this up but remember the steelers. I feel like among any team in the nfl. Last year. Had the weirdest schedule. Like i felt like they were more impacted by wednesday afternoon game. He got pushed. You know they're playing the race. I felt like they're they're scheduled got messed with more than any other. Nfl team last year because of because of covert and the pandemic and so. I think that could be some of it. My guess is one of those games where he had low target share was just the chase. Klay pool went crazy game yet. Chase clay for that. Four touchdown game so traditionally deontay johnson. When he's been on the field with. Ben rothlisberger has been a target monster. Yes it's sort of just feel. Yeah because i think there's been some narratives. this off season could be a breakthrough wide receiver. And if i felt confident about morbid plays i'd feel like there was the chance to finish the a top ten player at the position. Because i'm not convinced there's going to be many more big plays and because there still are two other notable wide receivers. I think he's kind of comfortably in that low in our wide receiver to rent the question. Is the question is i'm curious and i don't have an answer to this to me. It's a little bit about ben. Because last year. Ben became different quarterback and much more of a dinkum dunk guy than he has been previous in his career. And do we think was a result of. He's getting older. The arm strength wasn't wasn't there. Or is it just gonna take to right in the offense line or was he just sort of the defense was given them like they were. They were protecting the deep also like all right. I'm just gonna dump underneath. Usually you smith schuster not not cool keith. Notes via text that d. Johnson didn't left a couple of games early due to injury which experience count. Let's go to jews right. not kool. Keith is johnny on the spot. Johnny on the spot. Interestingly enough you have you and i have a reversal of the two. Next steeler wide receivers. You've got juju. Smith schuster ranked ahead of chase klay pool. I have it in the reverse order if you had told me. That juju averaged nearly fifteen fantasy points per game last year. I would've told you there's no way because it felt so underwhelming what you have to remember though is that the volume was substantial for juju. The problem is he was like a running back in terms of yards per catch average. Like eight point nine yards per catch. Last year everything was at or near line of scrimmage for juju which is the change of where he was from where he was when he won the team. Mvp award back in two thousand eighteen. Something changes game clearly. The nfl different player than we thought we were going to see a few years ago. He signed a one year. Deal worth up to eight million dollars with the pittsburgh steelers and it's not like he turned down. You know twelve million dollars per year in a multi year contract. It sounded like every other was offered was also for one years one year and had like a little bit more upside but not substantially more upside. So my question to you is again. Is this what you do is now. Is he just like just a slot receiver. Is he just a eight to ten yard per catch at best white out. Yeah i mean it really weird because we did some stuff about him on the on the fantasy show last year yes shown. Espn plus by the way. Come back next week And basically turned him into the. Who's the daniel who's the guy that i mean they. Who's the a ryan switzer. I was trying to remember who they basically turned him into ryan switzer and where he was right. They turn this guy that was this explosive player that after antonio brown left the steelers people were drafting like fifth or sixth overall in terms of wide wide receiver like that we thought was going to explode and they turn them into this this weird possession receiver very stradivari. You know a very small average depth the target. the thing on juju. He's twenty four years old. It's like he's still insanely young. He's twenty four years old and this is a guy a year ago was being.

"Repeatedly back than that if this ends up being the worst mistake lebron James ever makes we're gonna look back and say god we really over reacted to this in real for sure and that's exactly been the case right like in wrestling in retrospect we look back like pod that was really foolish that reaction and and here we are but your point it really was the first time that lebron exercised his movement with player power of it and yes it may have been ill conceived and yes the execution may not have been great but it really started it was the genesis of player in power but and he changed the dynamics in the NBA and I think that the league at the time knew that that was probably going to be the case too and I would imagine that was part of the motivation of David stern to try to not let it air right but to your point that's what kind of was the basis for him right yes it could have been done better have been executed more professionally or whatever knock you have on it but I feel like he learned a great deal from that right that is that yes it's for him personally being so dejected after it happened and then look what he's been able to accomplish well outside of the game of basketball what he does on the court I feel like that was kind of the platform that you know pushed him to that level and so yeah if that's the smallest mistake he's made in his career that's pretty damn good in my opinion yeah it is pretty wild man like it it's just that that whole era I can't wait for that thirty four thirty like yeah those four years I mean it was V. most incredible roller coaster ride ever like there was not a dull moment you know that first season I'm telling you like that first season I've never seen anything like that and and look I I've covered some teams like in what you know early in my career I covered football before I covered the NBA so I covered the NFL and college football and I covered the university of Miami and look there are few college football programs as polarizing as them okay and this made the hurricanes feel like a day at the beach okay the type of stuff that those guys had to deal with like Chris Bosch of never forget and will end on this because we've got a we've got some stuff to get to including sports center I I remember asking Chris bosh many years later life which was like the spot that you were most surprised at the reaction when you went into the arena just every arena they went to was like game seven of the NBA finals like the fans it was like the seventh level of hell right including Cleveland which was the worst of the mall by far but he started loving that you know Memphis I don't understand why Memphis was so mad at us we were never going to Memphis you're saying like I could get Chicago New York why they were really angry but man what was Memphis so mad you know why was Utah so mad at this I I I never understood why they were so angry because we there was no chance we were going there but yeah just some funny stuff but anyway it'll be great watch backstory with our friend don van Natta he is the best investigative journalist we have your ADS B. and Pulitzer Prize winner and he host backstory this will be on the decision from lebron July of twenty ten and it's Sunday at nine eastern six Pacific on ESPN and now it's time actually before we get to that I got a tease the game America's always waiting for right overly overrated underrated or properly rated that will come up next and first though it is time for sports yes the news coming out of the college from under armor is attempting to break its fifteen year two hundred and eighty million dollar contract with UCLA according to the school the deal went into effect in July of twenty seventeen it remain the largest college apparel deal as of September twenty nineteen according to Forbes round three of the travelers has finished for the day Brendan Todd is your leader at nine under both he and Dustin.

"By straight talk wireless some tweeters are writing and that the agent the don van Natta mentioned there are Emmanuel is the inspiration for the ari gold character in entourage I was not actually aware of that that is something that is new to me are you got it will be handling the Twitter account in the Instagram account all our social media over the course of the weekend we enjoyed it the last time he did it about a month ago and then things got crazy but now while we are have gone a month year of slightly less crazy and it's okay to fool around I guess a little more on social media Mike I wanted to ask you about something Vince McMahon's to god's got dragged in to this White House conference call with sports commissioners then I didn't feel like he belonged M. but he got there anyway because for whatever the reasons are professional wrestling has more credibility than it probably deserves given that we don't seem to treat it with the same sort of diligence about killing it athletes the way that we treat other sports that are unsafe wrestlers died early at a disproportionate rate I'm telling you during the pandemic when my crime was putting on every day some wrestling show from the nineties two thousand everybody was dead there was nobody still alive in wrestling and now when wrestling came in here's to gods and use the loophole first on Florida's open for business all right now a bunch of wrestlers are are sick all over the place right laugh where they've got a legitimate outbreak where sports is now returning for the money over the health of its people and the W. W. E. isn't getting any sort of criticism that I can see from any of you know mainstream outlets about like man this was really responsible and now you've got not surprisingly enough they're just getting the criticisms from the the entities that cover it which aren't considered mainstream journalistic ventures you can't get well I guess you can't because Vince McMahon proved that you can get the credibility credibility the legitimacy and none of the accountability because they kept doing this and they said that they were testing but you can play fast and loose with what testing means just taking someone's temperature that counts is testing so they were doing all these shows from their performance center without actually doing covert nineteen testing so there was no knowing who was a symptomatic wrestlers took it upon themselves to say Hey no I I think I'm feeling symptoms or I'm feeling uncomfortable but this is their job they don't get paid if they don't show up in many respects so they go to this performance center that doesn't have the proper protocols they start inviting fans in this is the height of the arrogance coming from Vince McMahon and WWE they start inviting some fans everybody in the audience not using face covers and then someone in that audience who is a friend or family member of one of the performers that's what they said started feeling symptoms tested positive then the actual testing for common nineteen amongst the talent and backstage personnel goes goes on I know you have north of two dozen positive test results and not a word from mainstream media you get the legitimacy you get the loopholes by being a professional sport because of an established relationship with the president this needs to be shut down the gods how is that possible can you explain to me how it's possible the professional wrestling okay and I don't want to get into semantics argument with the people who love professional wrestling but basic basically script choreography that is also scripted choreography that is also athletic okay I don't want to argue with you about whether it's a real sport or fake sport or whether what they do is dangerous or athletic it is athletic but everything there is scripted how is it that that gets into a conference call with the White House on sports returning with Vince McMahon as the leader and all he gets is the power and the money without any of the shame like how is that possible that that is something that is happening right now as we are coming back with sports and wrestling is trying to come back and we've been told that football is very dangerous because the contact sport wrestling obviously a contact sport where people are breathing all over each other and now because the testing was inadequate like how can you not come down on Vince McMahon with you like your testing how how can you be sloppy about this I you would fit well they're not going to come down on him because he's providing them with feel good plus people don't take it seriously you know care enough to come down on visit Bob McMahon on something so serious this is like it's very concerning what's going on in the state of Florida another record day today sixteen bow just wanted this out only sixty and I'm saying this because I was surprised it was only sixty eight of the three hundred and two NBA players that were tested only sixteen tested positive and now you're bringing them down to the state with the correct drivers is growing more rapidly than any other state United States like I don't know what we're doing here this seems it's indeed saying what went on here but it's all driven by money I have seen it take only sixteen let's put this in perspective this is almost exactly four months for four months after the initial shutdown of America in sports the premier league has has plenty of teams in it and bigger rosters they have accomplished ten full rounds of testing they get tested often right they are now in their second week second full week over resumption of play they've had eighteen positive tests throughout that we're in testing phase one with the NBA and they basically equaled what the flyers or tested positive in the premier league see what happened Ellis you daily close to forty it's an embarrassment in this kind that is stray dog is brought to you by straight talk wireless no contract no compromise less than five weeks until the NBA tips off.

"Who is the point person at the network for the Lebron? Group on the decision sat down with he was the first interview. We did actually a little over a year ago. And then Vince Doria. Who is the head of the news division? retired in two thousand fifteen. He also sat down and talked about the tensions inside the news division of trying to cover an event that the entertainment side you know, had every interest in in letting Lebron. Break the story versus the NBA insider so I think we're pretty fair, but tough on ESPN and I think that I hope that the audience will find that were down the middle, and and the issues that occurred at that time at the network Are you know are covered in-depth now? I will I. I Will Jimmy One disappoint was Jim. Gray declined to talk with me. WE TRIED? We ran into him multiple times. I really wanted to sit down with him and and ask him questions about those twenty three questions and the way it was handled and everything else. We have some reporting about that that we have in the show, but he just he would not sit down with me. Unfortunately, did they give you reason why any reason why? He wouldn't sit down, you know he did, and he never responded to my reaching out to him. He did speak briefly to our show runner Robert. Of great documentary filmmakers on Right Co-founder Review Sixty and just said he just didn't want anything to do with the project. it so so that that is a regret that we couldn't sit down with gray and hear his side of the story. I'm glad you brought that up because this was going to be my last question before we wrap I love a spoiler. If you don't give a spoiler, I totally understand I I'm really looking forward to seeing the skipper party and the Vince Doria part there about how? This went down with the SPN news versus Pinot containment, but if you can tell us if you can't you WANNA, save it for Sunday I understand. How did Jim Gray become? Those was that Lebron's pick was at ESPN's pick. How did that happen? Oh, no, I don't mind I. Don't mind discussing that, so this is interesting. This was a maverick Carter's pick so one of the things that we talked about in the show is. Is, this was really a a maverick. Carter production that the cameras belong to ESPN satellite uplink did but maverick and and Lebron by extension, but really maverick was calling the shots and Jim. Gray was not wanted by ESPN ESPN. Wanted one its own host, the duty, the late great stuart, Scott or Bobbly and in instead the Lebron camp, and mostly maverick insisted it. Be Jim Gray, and so it was Jim Gray so. That's kind of interesting and that would be. That would be amazing if that happened today because that would leak. And then have all the P. the Richard ideas the benched rouse's the Andrew Marr Shans by. Everyone would be ripping ESPN shreds for letting maverick Carter dictators the host of that sort of probably ten years ago. When social media wasn't what it is now. They got away with it, but not fly today. Yeah I. that's that's probably true, but an and looked at the interview with skipper is quite candid. I'm really proud of that. Interview of skipper sat down with me, and I think is quite revealing about what the incentives and motives ESPN had to do. The show this was one hour of network time that was donated to Lebron James the Lebron James Family. Family! Foundation made a two million dollar contribution. I found in its tax returns to the boys and girls clubs of America. So ESPN made no money on that one hour. The the money that the network made was on. You know the bumper programming the three hour pre show in to our Po- show and skippers very open about that I. Ask him in the in the Baxter episode, Jimmy I say did ESPN US Lebron. Lebron Lebron US ESPN, and he said it was mutual use, and so absolutely. Yeah, and so I. I just I was I was very happy to to be able to sit down with him and get him to talk about what the motives beyond what the motives were, and and and Y ESPN decided to do it. Including allowing the Lebron camp to pick the hosts that was going to ask the questions on its air well. Well I listen I get why I get why ESPN did it, and did it for no money, because then they are in the good graces and get access to the greatest athlete in the entire world. Who was the greatest athlete in the entire world ten years ago? Is Today in you, know they? You know when you need them to do something. Then you have access to him so I get it from that standpoint. I think though when you you know in you. Let them pick the hosts. That's where it gets a little dicey, but I guess you can't do the show unless he gets to pick the hotel. Yeah, and and you know what you're saying about about the access That's arguable that's that's not by the way with skipper or cling scales. Does all I'm sure they would? Not Jimmy. No, but I know, but what what I wanted to say about that, but the but the answer, though the skipper does give on that because I asked that question, you know from a business standpoint, you know. Why would you do this with this arrangement of donated? The our is answer on that I'll let viewers find out, but it's it's quite revealing. It's not about future access but more about that moment, and what was in it for espn at that moment Gotcha I look forward to that. I look forward to the whole show backstory the decision this. Sunday nine PM is pin pin. Had A you know no sports? It's been a documentary fest the last couple of months here so I'm sure this will be a good one looking forward to it. Thanks for coming on and. Spend a little time I appreciate it. Thank you Jimmy Joy it. Be well. I might thanks the Don. Van Natta enjoyed the conversation a lot looking.

"Phone. Let me just. Just let it ring. I'M NOT GONNA. Answer it to me one second. All right. Is it? Is it Lebron point how how bad? How bad backstory is going to be? Nano! Say That agenda me because I. You make a good point. Yeah it, it is hot. It is the sort of it's not. I. Don't think people care if they're take as right. They just want the attention for the take. Oh yeah, no, absolutely it's it's. It's certainly it's about getting attention and building your brand and yelling the loudest and writing the most followers and likes and clicks all of that but you know. Let's feel really good that this is not what. Was Thought to be Sunday night right? This is this is actually wonderful news that should be celebrated, and instead the wonderful news becomes this sort of. Venue for a lot more yelling and screaming and questioning people's intentions and motives. You know I saw. My colleague will cain you know coming down very very hard on journalists and the media and saying you know we don't deal most of us I hope. He has include me in that category, but he might. Like most of us in the media don't deal with facts well, actually some of US do some of us do actually spent. Now being meticulous and trying to find out what the truth is, and what the facts are and don't jump to instant conclusions. and. When you know what sometimes we'll does, you know so It's It's frustrating. It's frustrating to be a journalist in this day and age. When the noise surrounding any story that you are trying to report? Often eclipses any facts that you find out about right, right? Well, I I don't think this spent into. That take by will cain I think is a little bit ridiculous. In terms of journalists do deal and I. Think what happens is. I think journalists when you're writing for ESPN YOU'RE ON ESPN, TV you're writing for sports, illustrated they all one hundred percent deal in facts, but then people on twitter throat opinions, and maybe that's what will has the issue with, but to say that journalists aren't dealing in facts I. Think is a little bit of a stretch, because if espn or SI publish something that was. Factually wrong, we would catch hell for. I'm sorry. Jimmy I lost you for a second say that again. To. Will's point which I. which I think is a little bit absurd is. To say journalists don't deal in facts. Does it make sense because? I think he's he's going by twitter. If you're again on ESPN, television you're writing has been dot com sports illustrated dot com. We deal in facts if we don't. We lose our jobs basically so. To that your journals aren't dealing in facts is absurd. He's probably I'm sure speaking about opinions that people are on twitter, which again not the same thing as the real world in my opinion, so now it's not that twitter is not the real world. It is a fun. House Mirror is my is my favorite metaphor for what twitter is and and in all of us in sports, media and the mainstream media spend far, too. Too much time on there. Because you know most of our readers, most of our viewers and listeners, they're not twitter. You know we're. We're oftentimes talking to ourselves and trying to make ourselves laugh at at a funny joke. We tell and often say it's like we're all trying to get a job and John Oliver's writer writer's room. with how funny we are on twitter and I'm guilty of it I do it to. Real. Yeah. We all we all do that, but I mean it. It's it's a time suck and I think you're right I. Think you know to be fair to, will he? He was referring probably more. The space in hot. Take people the jump to conclusions, but you said the media I mean. The media covers a lot of ground, and he made it sound almost. Everybody in the media doesn't deal in facts which you know. What! What what didn't I mean? NASCAR came out and said there was an investigation that that's not the media's doing. That's are coming. But enough about that. Let's get to the decision. That topic frustrates me. Being twitter I think twitter I, think twitter will have a lot of fun on Sunday night. This Sunday June. Twenty Eighth Nine PM ESPN back story the decision which you will host and. A ten year anniversary, so I know that's the reason for doing it now. I'm just curious about a couple of things with the show Lebron involved in the show at all. No Lebron declined our invitation to sit down for an. it is business partner, Maverick Carter as did his agent rich. Paul his chief of staff. Randy mims, all four of those guys who I would have loved to sat down and talk with a not just about the show, but about its legacy None of those guys agreed to do it, but we did talk to people around Lebron people in his camp, people inside his inner circle, and so You know they they helped. Inform the reporting for sure of what you'll see on Sunday night. Why I'm asking you to speculate, but why? Why do you think Lebron and the people close to him past? They embarrassed by our. DO THEY NOT WANNA? Talk about it what he thinks. The reason that well I think there's I think there's multiple reasons Jimmy I think certainly it was probably the worst public moment of Lebron, James's life and so why revisit it with an investigative reporter? WHO's GonNa ask you any question. that I could think of You know. He just doesn't have to do it and he chose not to, but we make the point in the episode. That Lebron now is is own storyteller. He's an executive producer of his. His own shows through his media, companies and his production company, springhill, entertainment, and uninterrupted and two years ago on more than an athlete which is on ESPN plus which Laurent sold to ESPN, he sat with those guys. watched. A clip of the decision talked about it very frankly and openly about what that experience was like from how horrible the experience was so when I came calling last year to sit down with him and the guys around him. They felt like well. We've already done this. We already talked about it on our on our own show on early terms. So why should we do it, so we kind of lean into that? In the episode of Back Story, you know oftentimes when people say no to you and you don't get access is not necessarily both its most of the time, not a good thing, but in this particular case for the storytelling Jimmy. You know we're showing that. Lebron doesn't need US anymore. And a lot of star athletes don't and access. There's less and less access to star athletes..

"I'm just curious I. DON'T WANNA. Get into a whole thing about bubble, Wallace, because I just at this point. no-one no-one listens in everyone's sort of. I'm just curious from your standpoint because you're an investigative report. That is your title. You're an investigative reporter so for you. Everything is about facts. That's what it's all about fax. And with me with the story, the fact that it's being spun that he's a Jesse smaller to whatever the that guy. And the implication that he was the one who report he didn't report anything he and nothing to do, and there are people who refuse. To just deal with the facts, which is, he did not report this. He did not start this investigation. This was not his doing, and now he's getting the blowback when you see this. I can't imagine i. mean for me, it makes me it makes me want to not do work. It makes me WANNA to just go away. For someone like you, whose whole job whole job is based around investigative reporting I can't imagine what the frustrations you go through, and you see this nonsense it is. Extremely frustrating because as you say when. On Sunday night, it was announced there was going to be an investigation. Immediately I noticed on social media channels particularly on twitter there were people that said well at absolutely asked to be a noose, because of a history with Nascar and everything else, and then you had a lot of other people immediately said Oh no, no, no, it's! It's absolutely a small situation, right? It was one of the other people were silos immediately and looking at us like wait. Wait a minute. There's going to be closed circuit television. There's going to be an investigation. It's going to find the facts. Let's not jump to the conclusions, and what often happens you know Jimmy within a minute or two people make up their minds with no facts whatsoever, and this is a perfect example of all they know is an investigation of something of an object and how it got there, and they instantly make up their mind about what it is. Is They for twenty four forty eight hours. Keep banging that drum, and then when we find out what the result is. The people that were right are going to say all the people that were wrong had all of these horrible moments, and and it's it's always about my hot take being right or your hot take being right or wrong, and that's where all these arguments are about and so as an investigative reporter. You deal with facts. Let's let's wait. Wait to see what the facts are, and and and move forward from there and we so rarely do that in this country, and as you know, we rarely click the stories. People don't read the stories they read the headlines they react to. The hot takes on twitter very very few people click through and read every word of a long form story, the delves deeply into some subject to try to understand it, and and we bring our bias to it. I don't even think i. Think it's about my take is right. Might take is wrong I. think it's just about. How much attention can I get? A.

"This is what. And, people don't know that Novak Djokovic who doesn't believe in vaccines, which okay fine, but then he has to have a party with nobody wearing masks, the stupidity and the ignorance. It wears you down when it's constant, nonstop, everyday and even. Cheaper who you cannot create if you are a fiction writer Amore Benign figure right a guy who just wants to help people. Be Healthy. That's why he's here. He's been doing it since the Reagan administration. There's a target on him. People can't stand them. They don't want a lot of people in this country. They don't want to hear. Anything has to say in the always. Do is trying to help us. Well I'm sort of in that category now. He he he lost. It will here's to listen I. Think he is like he's very benign I think he has nothing but good intentions. I don't think I think he wants to do the right thing and my issue with him is I, think he should. He. His problem is that trump cut him off so now. We don't see FAUCI at briefings. And my issue with my only issue without you really is I think he should stop the interviews or get the flip flopping, and it might even be flip-flopping because listen like people got on him because in March, he said you don't need masks, but wear gloves because it can come from services now I believe that was his honest assessment. And in then researching more about corona, things change, they learn different things. And then it became about the mass that is a legitimate I have no issue with this my issue with vouchers, you know he does an interview with one sports outlet, and it's football. No problem then it's football can't happen, baseball should. My issue. Specifically about the sports things he's. He's been all over the map with it. And if it's that's why I want to hear Fao g about Corona and what we need to do about the coronavirus, his opinions on the sports stuff. I would less interviews with might be better for the. There has been some mixed messaging. Look, there's been mis mixed messaging from the administration all over the map and that's a big problem right. I mean there's no leadership. There's an assault. There's no leadership right and and I hear you on Fao, CI. He has contradicted himself, but it certainly seems lately. He's been more consistent just with his cynicism and with his. His warnings about whether we will have football or not whether Major. League. Baseball complain October It's been more of a drumbeat of doom when it comes to sports from at least from what I've heard in the last couple of weeks Jimmy and a lot of people in this country don't WanNa. Hear that so sports fans have shortly turned on him or many of them across the country and again my view of him as you say, it's got. The best intentions has been a perfect communicator. No, but as he's learned information to you know he certainly the voice of cynicism from the administration when there's very few of those. You, know absolutely and I again. I think part of the problem. Is that because? I think the guy should be on TV every day even if it's just for ten minutes given us a corona. And then maybe that would sort of take them off some of the interviews with them. We get some contradictions you know I. I think he's great from this like. This was a hard one to do just because I feel like the focus right now is on everything that bad in. In, sports of. Like I said the corona is going crazy. People don't WanNa wear masks. I got out of it though for Don van Natta. It's a good good interview and a good podcast. Right here, so we're going to get right to it right now. Don Van Natta from ESPN on Lebron James The decision. You Okay joining me now. Senior Writer best-selling author over it ESPN and the host of. backstory which I am looking very forward to this week because it covers Lebron James and the decision and he's Don van Natta Don. How're you doing great, Jimmy? How are you? Hanging in there, hanging in there, I gotta be honest. I am looking very forward to backstory the decision. Sunday at nine PM. very excited to talk to you about it I think the decision is one of those things that Every sports fan still has some feelings about like. Say just the overall. Just insanity of this week I I was like you know I don't even WanNa tape a podcast as I cannot believe the what's going on in the sports world this week with. You have all these cases of corona popping up, and then, of course you have to deal with corona true Thursday. It's not a big deal because you know who cares. People get it totally not factoring in that it could spread, and then people can somehow old people allowed to just go, and now it's not a big deal Novak. Djokovic is having his stupid party. And then you have Obama while i. mean this has been I. Don't know if you feel this way. I was curious because I was like. Oh, I, whoever I! I'm back. Are they having a rough as rough time dealing with this week as I, am absolutely it now it's hitting me. We have fifty five hundred cases today in Florida. I live in Miami and Aubrey Day it goes up, it spirals upward and I was in Naples this weekend, and almost everywhere I looked. You know the mask on social distancing. I'm being very careful. People run around without masks and. It people are not taking seriously all the things you said I mean to equate this with the sniffles as we've heard, is ridiculous and outrageous, so yeah, it has been. It's been tough. Look, we're all sick of it, but to because we're sick of it. The sort of wave, the victory flag over something that clearly is is got a lot of. A lot of kick in its engine. Seems Insane to me? And the crazy thing is so you're in Miami where in Florida? It's really getting bad and I'm here in new. York where we went through a rough patch, and we're on a really good downslope with it, and that was even after having you know massive protests, and which I think sort of shows that. you much safer outside than inside, but I'm not a scientist so You know it's just my own opinion, but the fact that our numbers have still gone down even after we've had the the protests go on, I, think it and most the people here if you're in New York and you see the footage, most people are wearing masks. The masks are obviously the key and then, but for some reason you have this. Portion of the country who thinks the masks are just infringing on their rights, I it you know. It's like where I am, too. I'm on long, island in Long Island Long Island. People get mad if you say either one so I don't even know which one is some anymore? But we're. We're in phase three now. Where restaurants are opening, we have the barber shops open. Nelson's are open. People who want to do that, the stores are now. You know the retail stores best buy. Open so like we're opening up and our numbers are great, but you go on twitter and it's like every five minutes. It's like Florida this Texas, there's Arizona and our start with the players. You Know Charlie black men, the of the Rockies and Von Miller can had it. And I've heard. He's still struggling with it and the golf now today on Wednesday, the golf is an like I mentioned Jovovich. Is just amazing that all you need to do is wear a mask and instead were people putting ourselves in this position. Yeah, Jimmy it's not a coincidence that the twenty states that have all spiked in the last couple of weeks are the states that basically opened up over Memorial Day weekend. I mean I think we're seeing the consequences of that in Florida Texas Arizona places where the mask wearing is not been taken seriously nearly seriously enough of course, and I keep thinking about Arizona to remember if rob Manfred had his way we would have had baseball around now in Arizona remember that was a plan just a couple of months ago. And Arizona is spiralling and you can imagine if that plan had. Taken root in. That would have happened. You know how awful that would have been from LB probably would have no season, so you know that elongated process probably worked to end obese advantage but I. don't believe we're going to see baseball I really don't I I don't WanNa be so cynical. I Love Baseball, but. You know it until that first pitch is thrown on July, twenty, third or July twenty fourth. I'm not going to believe that baseball is back because it's going to be just so difficult for you know to travel and particularly in the West the West Coast teams essentially the. Not Beyond the Mississippi. They've gotTA travel a lot in even just sixty games..

I'm not going to believe that baseball is back because it's going to be just so difficult for you know to travel and particularly in the West the West Coast teams essentially the..

Dallas sports anchor Dale Hansen blasts Jerry Jones

"Life You guys really cares Deeply insulted if you hit them, with the prices right losing What every NFL team fire their coach for ballot check except the Bengals Eighty eight percent of the audience said yes Are you surprised that? The wire Cam hasn't interfere with, more Ninety one percent of the audience that yes is. Territory going to strong on Pereira out of the expert gig Eighty seven percent it's a great question eighty seven percent of the audience said yes is fifty dollars to, Disney, a single grain of sand from all. The beaches on earth combined eighty five percent of the audience said yes. Let's get to the Dale Hansen sound this is w. f. a. Jerry Jones is now not, doing interviews anymore the NFL. Has asked him to not do interviews anymore on the anthem issue and Dale Hansen an old timing cowboy reported this guy is a public critic and Don van Natta. Is telling you that no thorn in Jerry Jones's side feels quite like this one in the Dallas Cowboys. Owner Jerry Jones had been talking this week about getting this football team ready to play in another Super. Bowl it has been twenty two years since they. Have and only three playoff wins in those twenty two years but Jones. Talks about that almost every year anyway and he has been talking too much this week about all the problem the NFL is still having off the field Jones to this Stephen were saying the other. Day that any player who takes Sydney and doesn't toe the line during the national anthem won't, be playing for the Dallas. Cowboys anymore it's incredible to me that a player can beat up a woman and play for the Dallas Cowboys a player can use illegal drugs time and time again. And still play but you take it need to protest the racial injustice in America and now you've crossed. The line that he will not allow Jones loves and respects the national anthem so much the when it. Was being played before the start of practice Saturday. He left his cap on and when he was told about the mistake. He was making he still left this capital He who makes the rules apparently, doesn't have to..
